Tumblr media
You spot Xiumin wrapping his knuckles in the wrap in the middle of the matted area. Kai, who was standing at the edge of the mats, nods to you in greeting. You notice Baekhyun besides him. You nod back to both of them as you head towards Xiumin.
As you stand in front of him, he suddenly grabs your hands. You freeze in surprise but relax when he expertly wraps your hands for you. Even though he hasn’t told you, you know that you both would be sparring.
He was wearing a sleeveless gray shirt and shorts. He had simple running shoes on, obviously an expensive brand you couldn’t remember. Kai and Baekhyun were wearing a similar, general outfit as Xiumin. You ran your eyes over the area you were sparring in.
The matted area was a decent size, empty to do many techniques. You tried to observe your opponent but you couldn’t help but feel that Xiumin had the upper hand. He probably observed your hand to hand fighting before, as you have never seen him fight before.
“There we go.” You hear him silently mutter as you pull your hands away.
“Okay. The rules are pretty simple; nothing is off bounds, and you win if the opponent taps out or is unconscious.” Kai briefly explains. You look in his direction to see Baekhyun smirking and giving you a thumbs up. You roll your eyes as you prepare yourself.
Xiumin holds himself in a regular fighting position as you gently shift your weight from one foot to the other. You roll your shoulders before mirroring his pose.
“Ready? Go!” Kai shouts and immediately Xiumin mauvers around you to quickly use his knee and jabs it in the space behind your knee to temporarily handicap you in your right leg.
You quietly grunt as you twirl on your other leg to hook your right leg around his neck. To his surprise you use your weight to pull him down and pinned him down in a leg lock. He grunts before flipping over and standing up to his feet causing you to be exposed on the mats.
Before he could pin you down you roll over and get up. You put yourself in a classic boxing position. You use your smaller and faster frame to your advantage. You fake several punches before ducking and hitting the space between his shoulder and body. He grunts as he stumbles back a bit.
When he’s exposed you hook your leg around his and pull down, causing him to fall down. Not making the same mistake, you pin his arms behind him and wrap your legs around him. You slowly begin to twist his arms behind him. You begin to see him struggling and you use your elbow to shove his face into the mats.
Instead of him tapping out, he uses his strength to flip your completely over onto your back. He grabs your wrists and pin them above you as his weight keeps you down. You wriggle in his grasp as he gives you a grip.
Finally you’re able to scoot high enough for your legs to move around. You wrap them around his hips as you swing your body weight in order for you to top him. You put him in the same position as you were before, smirking at him.
But that was no fun. You suddenly roll off him, giving him the opportunity to get up. You do the same as you both go into fighting positions. Xiumin was clearly stronger and faster than he looks.
This time he doesn’t hold back and begins to throw punches. You either dodge or block them as you begin to kick him. He sways away as you twirl around to gain momentum and kick him in the neck. By the force of your kick his barely loses balance. He quickly gets up and begins to directly charge at you. You take a deep breath before jumping, using his shoulder as leverage, above him. You twirl in the air before using your arm to put him into a choke hold.
You kick the space behind his knees causing him to fall on his knees. You hold him in the choke hold, his grip on your arm getting weaker by the second.
But you loosened your grip too soon. He escapes your hold and pulls you down. He pins your hands behind you as his legs trap your own.
Your head was shoved into the mat as you scoffed.
“Ready to tap out?” He whispers into your ear as his grip tightens.
“Not a chance.” You manage to get out. But you were completely tied up.
After futile attempts of breaking out of his iron hold you tap out. He smirks at you as he helps you up.
“No! You almost had him.” You turn to see Baekhyun dramatically hold his face.
“Really, I’m impressed.” Kai tells you as he hands you a water bottle. “No many can last that long to Xiumin hyung. No less pin him that long.”
You nod slowly as you look over to Xiumin. He turns around to meet your eyes. His eyes brighten slightly at you.
You can’t help but feel a bit claustrophobic despite the large room you were in. All three men in the room staring at you intently. As if they were waiting for you to do something.
“Hey hyung, I heard that Kyungsoo had something for us.” Baekhyun breaks the silence. He awkwardly pulls the other man and sort of shoves him out of the large room.
That left you and Kai in silence. He stares at you for a moment before speaking. “I know.”
“Know?” You look up at him.
“You’re going to go after her, right?” He nods towards you. “She’s the only thing you have.”
“Is it that obvious.” You huff out.
“Yes.” He says. “But you don’t realize how many believe that you’re the only one tying them down.”
“Down to what?” You tilt your head. But you knew.
“Down to life. Down to sanity.” He tells you. “But I think you already know that.”
You nod as you look down to the half full bottle of water. Of course, you knew. But you also knew that you couldn’t give them what they wished, even if it was just staying alive.
 “Thank you.” You quietly mutter.
“For what? I didn’t do anything.” He chuckled. His golden skin gleamed with a thin layer of sweat. From that you assumed that he and Baekhyun must’ve sparred as well during yours and Xiumin’s.
“I don’t know either.” You shrug. “It just seems like the right thing to say.”
He hums as gives you a small smile. You look up at him and nod.
“You may never gain what you want, but I want you to at least know what you really need.” He smiles at you.
“What’s that?” You test him, but also curious in what it may be.
“Someone to give you happiness, not the release of guilt.”

Hierarchy-Chapter 17

↻Previous  →Next
⇄A/N: This is a chapter I recently added so the overall flow of the story would make more sense. But I think you could tell by a slightly different writing style.
Tumblr media
“Come.” His cold voice startles you. No because of his icy tone, but the fact that he talked to you at all.
You look up at him eyes, and for a second you see them flicker into something softer. You nod and slowly get up. The man began sleeping from the medication Yixing gave him not too long ago. You had been so deep in thought, you haven’t heard him come in.
As he beings to lead you somewhere, you stare at his back. He was only a few inches taller than you, but his built form was intimidating. Your eyes drifted to the way his back muscles flexed and moved with each step. His suit was doing both of you no good.
He suddenly stopped, you barely catching yourself and stopping as well. You peek over his shoulder to see equipment, punching bags, and a small shooting range to the side of the large, gym-like room.
You then spot two men already inside. You widen your eyes at Junmyeon, shirtless, aggressively training with one of the punchbags. Never had you seen this side of your former, gentle, professor. Even from a distance, you could see something between rage and determination behind his eyes.
“Xiumin hyung.” You turn to see a man behind you. You jump a bit before moving out of his way.
“Kai, here for training?” The man that lead you here asked as Kai nodded. He gives you a smile but it barely reaches his eyes when he looks over you to see Junmyeon.
Kai moves around both you and Xiumin and stands beside Junmyeon. It takes a few moments for him to notice Kai besides him. Xiumin leads you to the area next to them, where a large matted area and hand wrap was waiting for you. Xiumin hands you a pair of clothing silently and nods to a door on the other side of the large room.
As you quietly walk in that direction you meet Junmyeon’s eyes for a spit second before he tears his eyes away.
Junmyeon huffs out in frustration before tapping the punching bag and turning to Kai. You see him clench his jaw when Kai disturbs whatever anger he was punching out.
“Hyung, maybe a break?” Kai suggests as he puts a hand on Junmyeon’s shoulder, then moves to put his stuff down somewhere.
You turn back to look at Junmyeon, worried. You’ve heard that he was much more violent and reckless lately, but you couldn’t imagine how severe it would be. The once gentle, stoic leader degraded to something almost inhumane filled with rage and violence.
Once entering the door Xiumin nodded to, you widen your eyes. It was a bathroom bigger than your own. You rolled your eyes at the expensive décor and large space. They were rich after all.
Your quickly changed into the athletic clothes as you narrow your eyes in how accurate the measurements are. But you trust it was all Kyungsoo.
You stood there in the middle of the bathroom when you flinch. You twirl, tensed up. Your mouth gapes as you see Junmyeon silently walks to you.
He exposed upper body was drenched in sweat as he stared at you through his dripping hair.
“Jun-” You cut yourself off when he runs a hand through his dark hair, sighing loudly. He smiles darkly at you as he continues to walk towards you.
Your body is torn from standing there or moving back. But you stand your ground as he stands directly in front of you.
As he takes a hand and lifts your chin you face him you stare into his eyes. His warm breath hits your face as your eyes flicker down to see his pink tongue dark out to wet his lips. He hums lightly as his teeth gently reach over to nick the edge of your ear.
You light gasps grow heavier as you realize what this might transition to.
“Junmyeon.” You gasp out, putting your hands on his chest, shaking them a bit over his warm skin.
“Yes?” He says quietly, but his voice is laced with something darker and thicker.
“B-both of us aren’t in a position to do this.” You stutter a bit. as you repeat what Baekhyun insisted. “It doesn’t mean one of us might not want it.”
“What better time than now babygirl.” He smirks.
“But why?” You ask him, looking in his eyes for something, anything besides the strong swirling emotions.
He stares at you in confusion and silence. “Why?”
“Yes, why?” You move your hands up to his shoulders. “Why are you like this?”
He frowns for a moment, his brows furrowing as his eyes bore into yours. You stare up at him, waiting.
“Because of you.” He finally answers. “I want you.”
You stay silent before lowering your head onto his chest. You begin to then start to quietly chuckle. Then it turns into a loud giggle.
It takes a few moments for you to come back to your senses and look back up to Junmyeon. He frowns at your form.
“I can’t.” You tell him. You smile sadly at him. “I realized that I can’t have anyone. And nobody can have me. That is until I learn. And pay back for my mistakes.”
Your smile breaks and you sigh. “I’m sorry Junmyeon. But no one can be happy with me if I can’t be satisfied with myself.”
You bite your lip as you turn and walk around him, slowly opening the door when you turn back to him. “Please find someone better. Someone that will love you.”
As you close the door behind you, you gently lean against it. You take a few deep breaths before pushing yourself off the door.
You were going to find her. No matter the cost.

Hierarchy-Chapter 16

⇄A/N: The song is ‘Cherry Blossom Love Song’. I used my own knowledge to translate it so it may be a bit mistranslated. Also, if you haven’t listened to this song. GO LISTEN TO IT. One of my favorite OSTs for one of favorite K-dramas.
Tumblr media
“Of course.” Chen guides you besides the piano as he sits on the bench. He pats his lap for you to sit on. You gently rest yourself onto him as his arms went around you.
He began to play a beautiful, yet sad melody onto the piano. You could tell he didn’t practice much from the way his fingers trembled ever so slightly whenever he pressed down onto the keys. But you didn’t say anything. His music was ever so beautiful, the little mishaps meant nothing.
He breathes out the first note as he sways to the soft rhythm to the music. You can’t help but rock with him as you smile.
“Are the falling cherry blossoms, from the passing wind, so lonely they resemble you?”
You lean into him as he belts out the soft lyrics, your hands resting beside his legs. You listen to the flowing melody as his voice surrounds you. The mellow light streaming from the curtains warmly tingle your skin, as his body around you creates as sense of belonging and comfort.
His voice decorates the melody as you sway to the music. Everything falls away as you feel the former tensions easing away.
 “I loved you.”
Too soon, he ends the song with a breathy sigh. His fingers rest onto the piano keys as the crisp, final notes fade into silence. The silence is only comforting as you relax into his presence.
“Do you not sing anymore?” You finally break the silence as you ask.
“I’m a busy man.” He chuckles as he wraps his arms around your waist. “But I’ll always sing for you.”
“I’ll always listen then.” You smile up to him. He surprises you by embracing you in a tight hug.
“Chen.” You muttered into his chest as he gently pulls away.
“Jongdae.” He mutters into your hair. “My real name.”
“Jongdae.” You taste his name onto your lips. “Do the others have real names?”
“Yes.” He hums into you. “I don’t think it’s my place to say, though.”
You nod as you look up at him. He gives you a warm smile. You smile back as you observe his face. Almost as if you were memorizing it. He gives you a light kiss on the head before nodding towards the door.
“Let’s go.” He pulls you as he guides you out the door. You follow him blindly as he leads you through a series of corridors and turns.
“Here?” You point to the door Jongdae stopped in front of. He nods as he opens the door for you.
As you walk in, you can feel his presence behind you. When you walk in you see the standard monochromic interior. You see a hospital bed against the wall and Lay standing beside it.
“Hello.” You nod in greeting towards Lay as he turns and smiles to you.
“He’s unconscious right now, but he’s healing.” Lay nods towards the man on the hospital bed. With his face much clearer without the blood, you slightly recognize him. He seemed like someone from campus, but you couldn’t be sure.
“Thank you, Lay.” You tell Lay genuinely.
“Yixing, is my birth name.” He says as his eyes crinkle a bit.
You nod as you smile to him. He returns the smile and you can’t help but smile wider at his prominent dimples decorating his already perfect smile.
“I’ll leave both of you.” Yixing said as he walked towards the door, pulling on Jongdae’s sleeve.
“What? Me too?” He asks, confused. “But I thought you meant-”
“It’s fine Jongdae. I’ll see you later, both of you.” You smile at him. He shuts up and nods.
“The only person who can thoroughly shut this man up.” Yixing mutters as he pulls Jongdae out of the room. You look as he closes the door behind them.
“Finally.” You turn to look at the man on the bed.
“You were awake the whole time?” You ask.
“Yeah. It’s kind of hard to stay unconscious when people are talking right beside you.” He mutters as you let out a small chuckle.
“Who were you?” You ask after a few moments of silence.
“I was an assistant professor to Jeong-Hui's professor.” He says.
“Oh. Were you the one following her?” You can’t help but slightly clench your fists a bit.
“Yeah. I was instructed to.” He mutters as he notices your hands.
“Makes sense.” You nod. You can’t change what he has already done, there was no point.
“You must be in quite a situation.” He notes.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You ask, you feel as if he’s not talking about just Jeong-Hui.
“Nothing ever comes out well when 9 men are deeply in love with 1 woman.” He chuckles a bit.
“All?” You murmur as you think.
“You don’t notice?” He muses. “Of course, most of them outwardly express their liking to you.”
“I can’t.” You say, shaking your head. “I have Jeong-Hui.”
“There’s always more room for than just one in your heart.” He gives you a half hearted smile.
“I might not come back alive.” You say. “I don’t want them to hold onto something that would go.”
“Do you think memories are temporary?” He asks you. “You don’t know a lot, you know. How can you be so sure that you won’t come back alive?”
“What makes you think that I will?” You look out the windows. “After what I did to them, them to me. What gives them a reason to keep me alive?”
“If they wanted to kill you, they would’ve done it already.” The man mutters. “They already knew about Jeong-Hui, right?”
“Yes. But they’re known to play around with their enemies.” You sigh out. Death was a small topic to you, but in such an emotional way it was taxing.
“If you were going to die, would you be afraid now?” He asks you.
“Yes and no.” You think for a moment. “Maybe, after taking a glimpse of what might be waiting for me.”
The aura around the room is settled into a comfortable silence. But it was very solemn as well.

The moment his footsteps dissipate, you look towards the man. He was staring at you in awe. You crouched in front of him, observing his bloody and bruised face.
“You don’t recognize me.” He coughs out.
“Yeah.” You nod, agreeing. You tried to memorize his face, or even recognize it, but you just couldn’t.
 “Why?” The man asks.
“Someone’s waiting for you, alive.” You gesture to the small picture of a woman’s silhouette, ignoring him.
“But...” The man trails off as he stares at the picture then you.
“I may kill, but I’m not heartless.” You mutter. “I won’t ask you any questions, but I will heal you until you are fit. But I ask something in return.”
“What?” The man looks at you before looking longingly to the picture.
“Stay out of this life. Get another identity, take what you need. But don’t stay in this life. It’s not too late.” You tell him.
He nods slightly. You give him a small smile before grab the picture and gently place it in his pocket. You then inspect his body as he sits still.
“I guess he did a number on me, seeing how you’re so silent.” The man murmurs.
“Yes. I’m surprised you’re still alive.” You respond. You could tell several ribs and limbs were severely fractured, not to mention the heavy bruising and open wounds on his body.
“Sung-Ri.” You look over to see Lay walk up to you.
“Lay.” You see as the man puts a comforting hand on your shoulder. “What are you doing here?”
“Xiumin asked me to come.” Lay said, looking towards the man in front of you. You then notice another man behind him.
“Hello.” You recognize him as Chen.
“Hello.” You say back as you look at him. He had a lingering smile in his eyes and strong cheekbones as he looked towards you.
“This is Chen.” Lay quickly introduces. You smile towards the man as you remember the situation at hand.
“Can you treat him?” You nod towards the man. Lay hesitates, you can tell he wants to say no but he nods anyways.
“I can carry him up.” Lay says as he begins to lift the man, trying to hurt him a little as possible.
“Thank you.” You smile towards Lay.
“Of course.” He gives you his signature dimpled grin as he slowly carries the man back up.
Before you follow them up, you look around the dark place.
“Are you afraid?” Chen asks you as you look around.
“Not really.” You reply as you begin to walk around the dark place. He mirrors your steps as he walks with you. “What is this place?”
“I think you already know.” Chen answers you. You nod, knowing that he confirmed your thoughts.
“What do you do?” You turned around and poked his chest as he stopped in front of you. He stares at you for a moment, observing your features, before snapping back to reality.
“I’m an arsonist.” He says, still not taking your eyes off of you.
“You seem like you’d enjoy the thrill.” You nod. He gives you a comforting smile.
“I guess you’re wondering why I’m here.” Chen says aloud.
“I guess.” You tilt your head, slightly curious.
“I wanted to talk.” Chen nods towards the end of the hallway behind you. “Outside.”
“Sure.” You nod as you follow Chen out of the dreadful room.
You look at his back as he leads you somewhere. You couldn’t really care enough to ask. You notice the way he looks behind him, at you, every once in a while. Almost as if you would disappear out of thin air.
Chen eventually leads you to a small room. It was empty except for the large piano in the middle of the room. The room was a clean and pristine white, contrasting the dark skin of the piano. The bright sunlight streaming through the thin curtains provided all the light.
“You play?” You asked him as he finally came to stop.
“Sometimes. But not as much anymore.” He smiles at you. “I sing. As a hobby of course.”
“How very romantic.” You mutter as his smile brightens by several watts.
“Can I ask you something?” Chen murmurs as his eyes lock with yours. You can’t seem to pull yourself away.
“Of course.” You mutter back. But you narrow your eyes a bit.
“Are you happy?” He asks suddenly. His smile falters a bit when asking you.
“Now?” You blink at him, feeling the situation.
“I guess. Or about what you do, your situation.” He clarifies as he steps closer to you.
“No, I guess I’m not.” You breathe out. “I take the gift of life from others, for my own needs. I protect one who doesn’t seem to want to be protected. But they slipped from my grasp when I looked away.”
“But, I’m peaceful now. I accept that as who I am.” You give out a small smile. “I don’t feel as threatened, I suppose. The reason being for that are you and everyone else.”
“But you aren’t content.” Chen points out.
“True.” You nod. “I will risk anything to save her.”
“Even death?” He asks, beginning to slowly nod.
“Yes.” You nod, accepting that fate.
“But what if someone was unhappy because of that?” He murmurs as he looks down at you.
“Why would they be unhappy?” You ask as you look up at him. Your eyes became lost in his dark orbs, his answer at the tip of his tongue.
“It’s because they love you.” He breathes out. At that moment his face was inches away from yours. You could feel his warm breath on your lips as your eyes never escaped his.
“Do you love me?” You ask him. At times like these something always stops you. You knew his answer but that thing always stops you. Guilt? Perhaps.
 “Maybe.” He mutters.
“You shouldn’t.” You pulled away, rubbing your arms. “I don’t think I...”
“Sung-Ri.” You turned to his stormy eyes. “Trust me.”
“Trust you?” You huff out. “I can’t have someone loving me in a time like this.”
“It isn’t about the other person. It’s about you.” He holds your hands in his larger ones. “Trust me with your happiness.”
“Can I?” You ask, doubtful. What really was happiness?
“Let go of your doubts, and fall.” He rubs the back of your hand. “Give yourself a chance.”
“But why?” You look up at him. Yes, perhaps it was guilt. The thing stopping you from accepting anything, even yourself.
“You know, I don’t know if what I have to you is really love. But I can’t say you haven’t fascinated me since day one.” He smiles gently at you. “I’m not the type to push you to do something you don’t want. But I want to help you. Something like paying off my debts to this world.”
“But my happiness?” You murmur aloud.
“Trust me.” He tells you. “Trust yourself and forgive yourself.”
Happiness. Such a foreign word to you. Could you? Could you be happy? The answer would always be no to yourself. But you could never deny that you didn’t want it. That you perhaps need it.
Both of you rocked to silent music as the room became the stage. It was like that for a long time. You finally lifted your head up, meeting his eyes and his bright smile.
 “Sing for me?”

⇄A/N: Can I just say how much I hate doing the tags? I know I don’t have to do so much, but they’re stupidly satisfying as well. But then when you finish you realize that you’ve just wasted so much time.
Tumblr media
You woke up in Baekhyun's arms. You smiled for the first time, knowing that Baekhyun kept his promise.
As you stared at his angelic features, you reach up to touch his soft hair. As you run your hands through it, you look down to see that Baekhyun was looking straight at you.
 "Morning." He mumbled.
"Good morning." You say back at him, starting to get up out of the bed.
“Leaving already?” He groans out as he stretches cutely.
“Habit?” You shrug. “I want to eat.”
“Do you want me to get you some food?” He asks, jumping out of bed.
“I think I’m going to eat downstairs this time.” You tell him as you notice he was already halfway out the door.
“Oh, yeah.” He smiles sheepishly as he gestures you to go before him. “Sleep well?”
“Really well, actually.” You tell him.
Both of you carefully head downstairs, you hear the quiet clinking of metal utensils upon plates. You internally frown at the quietness, you assumed that they would have more energy in the morning.
“Morning, Soo.” Baekhyun nods to the man as he gets two plates of food. Kyungsoo looks questionably at him before his eyes widens when he looks at you.
“What are you doing down here?” Kyungsoo grabs your shoulder tightly, drawing attention from the other boys.
“Sung-Ri?” You hear Chen breathe aloud.
“I decided to start moving around.” You smile at Kyungsoo as he takes his hand off you, nodding. You awkwardly take a seat next to Baekhyun. You look up to meet Lay’s warm smile in front of you.
“Good morning.” You return the warm smile, making his smile brighten.
“Where’s everyone else?” You ask aloud, noticing that three of them were missing.
“Sleeping maybe.” Baekhyun shrugged as he placed a plate of waffles in front of you. You smiled up at him in thanks and picked up a fork, shoving it into the food.
“Maybe?” You ask as you take a bit. You hum at the familiar taste of Kyungsoo’s cooking.
“They were out last night.” Lay says as he emphasizes on ‘out’.
“Because of me?” You asked, having an idea of what they were doing, despite Lay’s simple explanation.
Everyone became quiet, Baekhyun suddenly having an intense interest in his food. You frowned at the silence, starting to become confused. You couldn’t understand why.
“Why is it so fucking quiet?” A male voice growls as he storms into the room. You barely recognize the man as Xiumin, because of his unruly appearance. He stops at the sight of the partially filled room, his eyes immediately becoming drawled to you. You then notice Suho enter behind him, a confused look on his face before he too, looks at your form.
“Good morning.” Suho silently mutters as he walks to grab himself a plate of food. Xiumin just nods as he follows him.
As they sit down, you notice how different they both look in the midst of the others. Their dark suits, ruffled hair, and bloodshot eyes look polar opposites to the lazy gazes, comfort clothes, and occasional yawning of the rest. Your eyes can’t help but be drawn to the few unbuttoned buttons of their dress shirts, seeing the outline of their collarbones.
“Where’s Chanyeol?” You ask them, breaking the silence as you try to distract yourself by talking.
“Does it matter?” Xiumin snaps as he points his narrowed eyes in your direction.
“Yes, it does matter.” You shoot back. “But now you’ve mentioned that, I’ve realized caring for your well-being is utterly useless.”
“Well, it should be.” He growls as he slams a hand on the surface of the table, making most of them flinch. “The only person’s well-being that matters is yours.”
“And why is that?” You can’t help but plaster a fake smile onto your face as you tilt your head in annoyance.
“Because you’re the only damned person alive who we all care about!” He stands up as he yells out. He breathes heavily as he runs a hand through his hair.
The whole room is quiet. No one dares to look at anyone else. You look up at Xiumin blankly, his outburst was so surprising, you couldn't comprehend anything. You mind went a million miles a second.
“I’m leaving.” He mutters as he walks away without anyone else bothered to stop him.
Again, as he leaves, the room is completely silent. No one dares to move or speak. You quietly wonder in confusion until you decide on something.
“I’m going to follow him.” You say as you get up, turning to follow where Xiumin went.
“Don’t.” Baekhyun grabbed your wrist but you tilt you head to the side and moved his hand off.
“I can handle myself.” You don’t turn back as you try and follow the general direction where Xiumin went.
You see Xiumin as he quickly storms into the large house, turning several directions. You also take the opportunity to observe the house. The main structure and frame of the house was old, but the renovations and furniture gave a modern vibe to it.
You watch Xiumin open a door an immediately disappear behind it. You quickly do the same. But when you open the door, you realize that there was a staircase going down. You gently close the door behind you as you begin to make your way down the staircase.
As you go down the last few steps, your nose is hit with the metallic scent of blood mixed in with the musky scent of sweat. A shiver runs along your spine as you notice how cold and dark it is. It takes you a few moments to notice the resonating sounds of a fist hitting flesh.
You follow the sound as you end up at an area with several lined doors. You peer through the small hole at the top and see what seemed like dead people with several blotches of blood onto their bodies lying on the ground.
As you continue, you’re now introduced to a wide area. Your eyes follow the chains bolted along the wall as you see two figures. As you move closer, you realize what it is, and what the sound was coming from.
You see Xiumin’s form as he crouches in front of a partially unconscious man. You notice that Xiumin tossed his expensive suit jacket onto the floor along with his gun and other weapons that must’ve been on him.
“I’m going to make this easy for you.” Xiumin smirks as he drags a small knife along the man’s face. The man opens his mouth in pain, but no sound comes out. “Just tell me. And you won’t have to get hurt.”
“Bullshit. I won’t tell you anything.” The man spats out blood as he scoffs out.
“I never said physically.” Xiumin’s smirk disappears as he gets up. “I wonder how long it’ll take for them to find the bodies.”
You silently walk closer to both of them. You look towards the man on the floor. For some reason, he looks hauntingly familiar. He notices you as you both lock eyes. You were expecting his eyes to be full of pain, but they’re only filled with nothing. Void of emotion. He turns his attention back to Xiumin who finally notices you.
“You shouldn’t be here.” He doesn’t seem completely surprised at your appearance.
You don’t reply as you look closer to the man on the ground. Xiumin notices your interest in him.
“You don’t recognize him?” He looks towards you.
 “Should I?” You ask.
“No, I suppose not. He’s apparently one of your classmates.” Xiumin continues.
“Undercover?” You try and piece the information together.
He doesn’t respond as he grabs something from his suit pocket and turns to the man on the floor. You recognize it as a small picture. Xiumin tosses the small picture onto the floor, in front of the man.
It’s then when the man shows emotion.
It takes you a few moments, but you notice the wet eyes and seemingly silent whimpers of the man.
“Xiumin.” You touch his shoulder as he moves towards the man.
“You shouldn’t be here.” Xiumin says again as he pulls away from you. He pulls out a silver pistol and points it to the man’s temple.
“Xiumin.” You say again, this time much more desperately.
“What.” The one word held so much ferocity and dominance, you almost shriveled back.
“Don’t. Please.” You never cared much about who you killed, only why. But you knew that this wasn’t right, and he was just doing this in vain.
“Why?” He turns towards you, his dark eyes narrowing at you.
“Why him?” You ask him. “What makes him so important? Am I not in front of you now?”
“He has information.” Xiumins looks away.
“Of what? Who hired him?” You plead as you touch his hand. “We both know people like him are hired anonymously. There isn’t a point.”
“Then at least let me kill him.” Xiumin bushes you aside as he aims the gun to the man.
“No.” By this point you stop the desperate act.
“What makes you think you can stop me?” Xiumin looks towards you.
“What makes you think I can’t?” You shoot back. You move in front of the man, blocking him from Xiumin’s view.
“Move.” Xiumin says. But he doesn’t move you over.
“I won’t.” You take a step towards Xiumin, making him flinch back.
 “Then what.” Xiumin scoffs.
“I’ll handle him.” You insist. “Just don’t.”
You both stay in that position for seconds that pass like hours. Xiumin’s dark eyes stared into yours as you held your breath. Eventually he lowered his gun, sighing as he stared at you.
 “Thank you.” You muttered.
Xiumin doesn’t responds as he drops the gun, letting it clatter onto the floor. He doesn’t spare you a glance before walking away. You quietly watch him leave as you stand there.

Hierarchy-Chapter 13

⇒Warning: Mature content. Sort of.
⇄A/N: Sorry if some parts seem off. Wasn’t really feeling it while editing. But enjoy as always!
Tumblr media
You did the same thing every day for several weeks. You got up and waited, sitting up on the bed. Around lunch time Kyungsoo would come and you would sometimes talk. Those times usually filled with silence, both enjoying only each other's company. He would always bring food, but you would never eat. Eventually you started to only eat apples. Just apples, nothing else.
Afterwards, you sat down on the bed, doing nothing until nightfall, when you took either a shower or bath, always wondering if you should just end it right then and there. You always came out alive, but more compelled to end yourself by each passing day.
Doing nothing except being in the silence of yourself gave you time to think over yourself. You wondered if things would've changed if you tried only a bit harder to resist. You soon began to believe that Lay was right, you treated Jeong-Hui like a child, and not like a normal being.
You found out that you needed to change, for Jeong-Hui. You decide to trust someone beside yourself for the first time since never.
When Kyungsoo came into your room the following day you asked him something before he left. "I want to talk to Baekhyun."
"Sung-Ri." Kyungsoo started, almost in a warning.
"Just do it." You said, meeting his eyes. You gave him the reassurance he needed.
He nodded, leaving the room. Later in the day, Baekhyun came into the room. He awkwardly closed the door, noticing you on the bed.
You were facing the curtained window, you realized that you came to look at it, never opening the curtain to see what was behind, but appreciating the muted landscape outside and the light that came in.
"We knew each other since we were young." You began when you felt Baekhyun sit on the edge of the bed.
"We were orphans, at least we thought so. We were taken in by what we call the 'association'." You continued.
"It was me, Kyungsoo, and two others. We were the only ones that survived the harsh training that they put us through to make us killing machines." You look down at your hands, remembering Kyungsoo’s hatred for his own.
"But that was just the first step. After that we were sent to harsher conditions and training." You clenched your fists.
"One of us were taken away, for reasons unknown. A few years later, the remaining three of us were separated." You say.
"It was barely two years from now I faked my own death and escaped." You unclench your fists, frowning at the crescent indents made by your nails on your palms.
"That was when I began taking jobs for money. It was a specific job that made me stop, however." You say. "The man was abusing his family, but he was filthy rich so the police didn't do anything."
You sigh, remember that fateful day. "When I was paid to kill him in his house, I saw him abusing his daughter and beating his wife."
"That night, the wife and man died. The man was tortured slowly with my own hands before dying of thirst." You said, Baekhyun still silent. "The wife died, but at a promise to me, that I'd help her daughter through anything."
You smile wistfully. "It was then I noticed the daughter was the one that separated from us at the assassination."
"Apparently, her mother got enough money to convince the association to bring her daughter back, brainwashing her so she wouldn't remember anything about the association.” You scoffed at how unfortunate it was for her.
"After that, I convinced myself to never take another job." You concluded, finally looking at Baekhyun.
"Not after meeting me, that is." Baekhyun said, guilt lacing his voice.
"I ran out of money and savings." You insist, as if you were reassuring yourself.
"The girl was Jeong-Hui, right?" He asks. You stay silent, nodding.
He sighs, running a hand through his hair. You get up, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.
You tilt his head up so you could see his face. You frowned when he wouldn't meet your eyes. You looked at his face, memorizing his facial feature. You smiled slightly at the memory of your 'date' before the whole mess of the party.
You wondered how love felt like. You wondered if your changed feelings with Baekhyun was love. You decide to test it out.
You pressed your lips to his, hearing his muffled yelp. Immediately afterwards, he started kissing you back.
You wrapped your legs around his waist. When he ran a hand along your body, you gasped, giving him the opportunity to slip in his tongue.
You gave a soft moan as he let go of your lips and trailed kisses along your jaw. His hands gently grasping the back of your neck.
You ran your hands under his shirt, feeling his toned body beneath your hands.
"Sung-Ri." He said, abruptly. "We shouldn't do this."
"I want to." You insist, but you slowly pull your hands away.
"You aren't in a position to do this. I won't forgive myself if you regret this." He gently smiles at you. “You’re too vulnerable.”
"I won't. I’m not." You try to promise him. But he just shakes his head, slowly getting up to leave.
"Stay with me?" You ask, hopefully.
"I'll come back." He promises. You trust that he will.
When Baekhyun leaves, you lay back in bed. You take your usual bath, but this time not thinking about suicide, but living.
You wondered about having a 'happily ever after' or at least family. You know that what had happened was not in your usual behavior, but being vulnerable couldn’t hurt.
After changing, you lay in your bed. You think about your future until you feel the heaviness of sleep upon yourself. A type of sleep you haven't gotten in a long time.
Tumblr media
Baekhyun POV
"Fuck." I cursed as I punched the shower wall. I could barely hold myself back when Sung-Ri was in that state.
I felt the cool water against my hot skin. I ran a hand through my wet hair, sighing. I frowned at the current situation.
"This is a problem." I curse, slamming a fist into the wall again. I couldn’t do that to her, but I couldn’t reject her in her situation.
I dried myself off as I changed, making my way downstairs.
I sat down at the dinner table next to Chanyeol, a plate of food already there.
"You're late." Chanyeol said, his voice muffled from a mouth full of food.
"Talked with Sung-Ri." As soon as I said that, every single man went silent.
"How did it go?" Kyungsoo spoke up. It was a bit aggravating on how he was the only one to see her every day, and truly know and care about her.
"Fine, I guess. I think she might be willing to get out of that room." I say, remembering how she was much more comfortable with me after telling me her story.
"Where're the hyungs?" I ask Sehun. He was visibly frowning at something.
"Another deal. They're hoping to get information out of one of his sub-groups." Sehun answers. I frown. These days I think the guys are blaming themselves for what happened to Jeong-Hui and Seung-Ri. They feel responsible to at least help.
"I think I should talk to her." Chanyeol says as he gets up.
"No." Kyungsoo immediately denies him. “Not with your current situation.”
"Why not? How come you get to say who talks to her?" Chanyeol snaps. “And it isn’t current anymore, she’s completely off the grid, probably dead.”
"Chanyeol, just let it go." I say, ignoring how he talks about his ex. “You need to deal with your other problems.”
"You're just saying that because you got to see her today." Chanyeol seethes. Although the two maknaes are silent, everyone in the room could tell that they were on Chanyeol's side as well.
"Be patient. We all have something to say." Lay hyung says as he gets up as well. "Besides, if Baekhyun's right, she will come out on her own soon."
Chanyeol grumbles in return, turning and going to the door after placing his empty plate in the sink.
"Going out." He mutters, not even waiting to hear our response before leaving.
Lately Chanyeol has been sleeping around much more than usual. I don't want to believe that it's because of Sung-Ri, or his ex, but I feel like it is. I feel slight remorse to the girl that Chanyeol will have his sights on for the night.
"At least he doesn't go on killing strikes." It was like Kyungsoo read your mind, hinting towards the leader. After the incident, Suho has been on a murderous rampage, which is odd for the reasonable leader.
"Night." I say to the rest of the men at the table. The tense silence was too uncomfortable to bear.
"Night." They all answer back as I place my empty plate in the sink and start to make my way back to Sung-Ri's room.
When I quietly walked into her room, I smiled at her sleeping form. She looked peaceful, almost normal in that state.
I close the door behind me, extra careful to not make a sound. I climbed into the bed with her, making sure to be a decent distance away from her so nothing happens.

Tumblr media
You gasped for air as you flattedned yourself onto the brick wall. The chill of the night air caused goosebumps to form along your body. You shivered in your thin clothing as you begged for your heavy breaths to become quieter.
But your breaths quicken when you hear the footsteps slow in from of you.
You tensed your face away, tightly closing your eyes when you felt the ice-cold metal run along your cheek, drawing a few drops of blood to drip down. You gasped as you felt the liquid drip from the burning scratch.
"Stop." You whimpered, arms straining against the metal cuffs that attached you to the wall. You gripped your hands into fists.
"You failed. You know the consequences." The emotionless voice filled your ears.
You couldn't see anything, only darkness. It was their sick way of torture or training. To blind you to make your other senses heightened.
You felt the blade pierce the place between your shoulder and arm, making a silent scream come out of your mouth. The cold air made the wound multiply its pain.
You couldn't feel anything after that, the wound dripping with your own blood. To this day, you would never be able to use your left arm properly from the improperly it was medicated and healed. The sharpness of pain filling your senses.
You stood there, motionless, silent. You heard the sound of wheels upon the floor.
"No." You whispered, knowing what would happen next.
"STOP!" You screeched, futilely attempting to break out of your bonds.
A strong hand held you in place. You felt the artificial needle pierce you skin as you tensed up more.
 "Sung-Ri."
Tumblr media
You screamed again. The pain was still there.
"Sung-Ri." You immediately stopped at the familiarity of the voice. You opened your eyes to see a familiar face, memorizing it during the seconds you could.
"Kyungsoo." Your breaths coming out in quick gasps.
"Sung-Ri." The man repeated again, holding your shoulders and brining you into a hug. You silently gaped as you felt tear run from your eyes.
When he pulled away, you noticed that he had tears in his eyes. The first time you’ve seen his this vulnerable. Even before.
"Don't leave." You whispered, shaking your head.
"I promise." He whispered back, brining you back into a hug.
"Where am I?" You wonder out loud after moments of Kyungsoo in your arms.
"Somewhere safe." You hear a voice to your left. You suddenly notice that you had more company. You, surprised, pull out of Kyungsoo’s embrace. Most of them groaning in pain, and rubbing their arms.
 "What happened?" You asked.
"I dunno, you tell us." You heard Baekhyun groan out in pain as he clutched his arm.
"You were influenced." Kyungsoo said, and you immediatly understood. You remembered the man in white and the last word he said. You shuddered in terror.
"I saw him." You whispered. "I thought he was..."
"Yeah." Kyungsoo patted your head as he nodded.
"You..." You trained off as you looked into his eyes.
He just nods. You nodded back, knowing he'll just tell you when he feels it's comfortable.
"Jeong-Hui." You say her name, not remembering much of what happened.
"She..." Lay trained off, leaving the silence for you to a least partially understand what you're trying to say.
You feel your body go limp as the prospect of failing Jeong-Hui enters your mind. You look to a curtained window, noticing the white color and how it completely differs from your mood right now.
"What happened?" You saw four men burst into the room. You tense up in surprise. There was a total of nine men in the room, a few of them you only knew from rumors and magazine covers.
"Hyung." Baekhyun said, nodding towards you and Kyungsoo.
"Wait. What's happening?" You heard Chanyeol ask. You looked at Kyungsoo. He only nodded, silent.
"Maybe we should wait." Lay tries to reason, noticing your weakened state. And you are grateful for his understanding presence.
You stay silent, your face void of emotion as you looked at every man in the room.
"Leave." Kyungsoo demanded, causing many to become startled, you included.
You watch as the men start to leave, leaving only Baekhyun and Kyungsoo.
"Sung-Ri." Baekhyun starts as he leans towards you.
You don't respond, silent. You don’t even face him as you keep your vision straight. He understands, leaving the room.
Kyungsoo also gets up, you look up at him.
"I'll leave you and get you some food." He states, patting your arm.
You nod, looking away. Your eyes finding the curtained windows.
You hear the click of the door closing. Once everyone is gone, you notice how big the room is. It was probably the size of your living room and kitchen combined. Remembering your apartment and Jeong-Hui you sigh depressingly. Your uneven exhale brings you closer to tears. You didn't want to think about the heavy guilt of Jeong-hui upon your shoulders.
You scan your eyes around the room. The room was colored a light grey, the furnature mostly white with the occasional contrasting black. There were windows, all covered in white curtains that hid everything except sunlight, the warm glow giving your darkened room some light.
You notice three doors in the room, you decide to open one, seeing the huge bathroom on the other side. You slowly go into the bathroom, walking to the sink. You slowly start washing your hands with the expensive soap next to the sink, infused with a lavender scent only attained by money. As you finish, you unconsciously look up. You see yourself in the mirror. You were an unhealthy pale shade of your normal skin tone, dark purple circles underlining your eyes. Your hair greasily matted against your forehead.
You see the edge of a bruise at the end of your shirt. You pull it over, covering your mouth in horror. The dark black and purple bruise was probably bigger than both of your fists combined, it was partially covered in a white bandage. You silently curse yourself as you run your hand along the wound next to your collarbone.
You start to cry silently. You always thought that being bruised was in vain unless it helped someone. You cried even harder at the sight of the wound, being constantly reminded that Jeong-Hui was missing and probably dead because of you.
It was strange, you killed for a living. But you cried and mourned at the sight of someone dying at the hands of someone else. You believed that it was the strangeness of morality.
Your tears had eventually slowed down. The bathroom filled with your uneven breathing. You washed your face, relaxing slightly at the feel of the comforting water.
You dry your face with a nearby towel, walking back into the room. You bit your lips slightly as you fight the darkest thoughts entering your mind.
You notice that Kyungsoo had left some food down on the table next to the bed. You sat down on the bed, covering your legs with the thick comforter.
You didn't reach for the food only looking at it. The familiar arrangements of Kyungsoo’s food made you tilt your head in curiosity. You wondered how he was doing, and how he escaped.
As if he read your mind, Kyungsoo came into the room. His familiar seemingly silent footsteps comforting you.
You stared at him, as he stared back at you. Both of you observing the other.
"You should eat." He says nodding to the full plate besides you.
You shake your head. "I think I'm going to throw up even without anything in my stomach."
He sat down at the foot of the bed, both of you silent for a while. You noticed that he was in a suit. It was strangely unlike him.
"Who changed me?" you asked him, looking down at your new clothing you don't remember putting on.
"I did." He said simply. To most others, it would seem sexual, almost perverted, but you only nodded back. It wasn't like he has seen you naked many times before.
You reach for his hand, noticing how quickly he flinched when he noticed what you were doing. He sighed, placing his hands on your hands. You smiled gently at his usual jumpy behavior. No matter how calm Kyungsoo was, he would always react to something unlikely.
You run your hands over his, caressing them. "How?" you asked as you observed his warm hands.
"When I heard about you, I decided to leave." He told you as if he were talking about getting off of work. If only it was that casual.
"What did they tell you?" you ask as you trace the almost invisible scars on his hands.
"That you failed." He stared at you.
 You nodded. "They weren't wrong."
"I found out that my parents willingly gave me up." Kyungsoo started to say. "When I escaped, they were already dead... pathetic."
"EXO?" you asked, seeing the other members of the group in your room before.
 He nodded slowly.
"I met Jiho." You said, making Kyungsoo visibly tense. You never understood why he had developed a hatred for Jiho. They were always so close in the beginning.
"When." you could hear that he was trying to control his anger, his hands tensing.
"Few days ago." You muttered. "He's alive."
"Sung-Ri." Kyungsoo took his hands out of yours. "You were out for almost a week."
You sat there, silent. You finally nodded. "New record."
 "Sung-Ri." Kyungsoo started.
"Worried is a new look for you Kyungsoo." You say staring back at the curtained windows. “Can’t say I like it though.”
He gets up, taking the food with him. You noticed that he placed something there to substitute the plate of food. But you didn't make a move to go get it.
He nods one last time before leaving. You stared at him as he quietly left.
After a while you turn to the object he left. You unconsciously begin to tear up as you pick up the object.
It was a picture, the first picture you took when you were still in the association.
It was you, Kyungsoo, Jiho, and Jeong-Hui. Well, the former Jeong-Hui. It was when you were only around 12 when the picture was taken.
Jiho's arm was wrapped around a young Kyungsoo who tried to hide his smile. You and Jeong-Hui were pressed together in a side hug. All of you had bright smiles.
You start to cry harder at the picture. You and the four others never had a normal childhood, this picture was probably the only thing that couldn't prove that.
You pressed the picture on top of your heart, tears falling down as you silently cried. You were like that for hours. Not moving more than a foot at a time.
When you noticed that the glow of the sunlight streaming from the curtained window was starting to dissipate, you got up from the bed, placing the picture back on the table next to the bed. Your cries dissipating into sniffles. You look into the other door, seeing a closet of clothes.
You pick out a plain shirt and sweatpants and headed to the bathroom. You carefully took your clothes off, starting a bath.
You just sat in the bathtub, your mind blank. You didn't do anything but lay in the tub. A thought passed through your mind.
"Could I just drown myself?" You spoke aloud. Perhaps leaving this world would rid you of guilt. You chuckled darkly at yourself.
"Guilt can never go away." You told yourself. You sat up in the tub. You looked down at your hands. You could now understand why Kyungsoo hated his hands so much.
How could anyone like something that destroys?

Hierarchy-Chapter 11

↻ Previous  →Next
⇄ A/N: I decided to just post a lot today. I’m working on editing TDoL (the Baekhyun x reader series) and straightening out the story line the way I want. I think the next update for that ‘series’ would be by next week. I’ll keep a hiatus on Flow and I’m planning on doing a full member series with BTS. But I might not. Anyways enjoy and stay safe and healthy!
Tumblr media
“W-why? I did everything.” You whisper, instant terror washing over you. It seemed like your mouth moved before you thought.
“Heh. I didn’t actually think you were alive. I did have a hunch, but never really cared. But, now that you’re here, let me tell you a... secret.” He smirks, leaning close to your ear. You flinch as he comes closer to you.
“Jeong-Hui looks lovely today.” He whispers, a chill ran down your spine as you clenched your fists.
“It is fortunate she’s wearing black, it’ll hide...” He trails off as he looks in the distance.
“What?” You hope you sounded stronger than you thought.
“The blood.” He finishes, leaning back and giving you a light smirk. To anyone else it could look like he was telling a joke to you. But you saw behind it, seeing the calculating gaze in his eyes, and how his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Please, don-” You were cut off by multiple gunshots and screams. You swirled your eyes to the direction of the noise.
Suddenly, the majority of the people in the ballroom ran towards the main entrance, the rest pulling out their own fire weapons. You pull against the crowd trying to find anyone.
“Jeong-Hui!” You called out, praying she’s just with Lay.
“See you later, black bird.” You heard the man in white whisper in your ear. When you turned around, he had already disappeared in the crowd. His last words ring in your ear as you stare into the crowd.
Another round of gunshots brought you back to reality, they all came from the main entrance. Then, the herd of people scattered.
You saw Chanyeol and Sehun both with handguns pointed at the direction of the gunshots.
You met Sehun’s gaze, you saw him nod and nodded back. As you slipped towards his direction, he used his free hand to pull out an extra handgun and tossed it to you.
You easily grabbed it with one hand, scoffing at the expensive brand.
“Filthy rich.” You muttered, making Chanyeol raise an eyebrow. You twirl the gun around as you roll your eyes at him.
You quickly clicked the safety off. You spotted Baekhyun already armed and quickly moved to him. As you started to shoot in the same direction as them.
“Where’s Lay and Jeong-Hui?” I asked him, keeping my eye out for anyone suspicious.
“Wait, what? Lay said Jeong-Hui went to you.” He responded as he widened your eyes towards you.
“Fuck.” You curse as you peek around the column. “Cover me.”
“Wait! You can’t ju- never mind just go.” Baekhyun mutters as he comes behind you and begins to shoot.
You scale the area of the ballroom until you spot Lay.
“Sung-Ri- Holy shit you can’t hold that.” He points at the gun in your hand, his eyes wide.
“What?” You ask confused until you remember that he doesn’t know. You shake your head. You would deal with that later. If you were alive later. “Where’s Jeong-Hui?”
 “With... you?” He questions.
“Jesus.” You curse again. “I’m going.”
“My god, what the fuck is happening?” He asks himself. You nod as you agreed.
You run to the herd of people who are starting to become cornered. You heard more gunshots above you that slowly started to kill off the people in the herd.
You look above you and see snipers on the roof. You lifted the gun, aiming carefully before shooting in the direction of one of the snipers.
You quickly hid behind a marble column. You quickly peeked to see that the sniper you shot at fell from his perch and landed on the floor of the ballroom, a stark contrast between his blood and the white marble floor.
Right afterwards, there were several shots in your direction. You curse as pieces of the column begin to crack off from the bullets.
You quickly pulled out your phone.
“Jeong-Hui.” You whisper-yelled into the phone when someone answered.
“Unnie!” You heard Jeong-Hui's muffled voice on the other end.
“Hear that?” You heard the voice of the man in white, clenching your jaw.
“Don’t.” You threaten as you look around, trying to spot anything.
“Don’t what?” The man challenged back.
“She has nothing to do with anything.” I insist, gripping the gun.
“Nothing, huh. Well, it seems like she has the greatest assassin and one of the most powerful mafia leaders right around her finger.” You heard Jeong-Hui gasp.
“Oh. You didn’t know... That just makes things more interesting.” You quickly heard the phone line go dead after that.
You screamed out in anger. You were compelled to chuck your phone at the floor, but you wanted to see if Baekhyun could track them.
“What the fuck?” You hear Lay curse.
“Who the hell is the chick with the machine gun?” He mutters. You start hearing the rapid fires of a machine gun a few columns away from you.
You cursed over and over until you decided to risk it. It didn’t matter, you didn’t matter. As long as Jeong-Hui was safe.
You ran right out into the open, dashing towards one of the exits, hoping that the man in white didn’t try anything. Or that you wouldn’t get shot dead.
You thanked the heavens that you found a group of bulky men usher a white figure.
“Stop.” You demanded, seeing that Jeong-Hui was already muffled in the man in white’s arms. You point the gun straight to his head.
“Don’t test me, I’m starting to get annoyed.” He frowns as the men around him point their firearms in your direction.
“Not until you get through me.” At any other situation, you would’ve cringed at the cheesy line, but you didn’t care.
But after hearing that single word from his mouth, your knees buckled and you swayed, losing balance. You see Jeong-Hui’s muffled screams as your vision failed you and darkness filled everything.
“Avifauna.”
Tumblr media
Chanyeol POV
I cursed as I saw the girl named Sung-Ri run out in the open to one of the smaller exits. Is she stupid?
Honesty, the fact that she could handle a weapon like an expert and curse like a sailor took me harder than just her running out in the open.
I shot a sniper that was aiming for her, smirking as I heard the muffled thump of the dead body.
I look over to see that the sounds of the machine gun suddenly stop. I look over to see the woman who was firing, a shocked look crossed over my face as I recognized her. I see a dark from loom over her.
I shake my head. I couldn’t worry about her right now, not after she just dropped that type of information on me.
I looked towards Sehun, he nodded to Jeong-Hui's direction. I nodded back, sneaking towards the direction she went.
Luckily, I wasn’t too far away from her.
I saw a somewhat familiar man in white holding a muffled girl in black with Sung-Ri in front of him.
I vaguely heard what he said before Sung-Ri's eyes rolled to the back of her head and she started to sway.
I ran to her, catching her before she hit the ground.
When I looked up, the man with the girl, with his minions where gone. I looked in the distance, confused, they didn’t even have a car or anything.
I looked down at Jeong-Hui, for some reason, I felt a compelling force to observe her. Maybe it was my instincts or something else, but I tilted her head so I could see her better.
I memorized every inch of her face. I was even surprised with myself, seeing as I usually don’t look twice at a girl before getting what I need.
I coughed out, coming back to reality. I pulled out my phone dialing a number.
 “I need a lift.”

Tumblr media
The four of you were in a sleek, black limousine. Jeong-Hui's excited figure made up for the silence between you, Lay, and Baekhyun.
The car stopped at an extravagant building. A chauffer opened the door. Baekhyun went out first, the lights of the cameras blinding you for a second. You tugged on his sleeve, nodding to the cameras. He understood, taking off his jacket and hiding your face with the jacket.
You felt Baekhyun lead you, his arm around your waist as he pulled through the cameras and interviewers.
“Mr. Byun, how is it being one of the most eligible bachelors in Korea?” And interviewer practically shoved a microphone into Baekhyun’s face.
“No comment.” He muttered, pulling ahead.
“Mr. Lay! Is that your date?” Another interviewer shouted to get Lay’s attention.
“Let’s hurry up.” Baekhyun whispered as he pulled his face closer you yours.
You nodded, hoping that none of the cameras got your or Jeong-Hui's face.
You handed Baekhyun’s jacket back once you both walked into the building. The interior was perhaps more beautiful than the exterior. You gasped at the large chandelier and the marble columns.
“Finally.” You heard Lay exhale. You turned around to see that Lay had done the same as Baekhyun and used his jacket to shield Jeong-Hui.
You smiled at Jeong-Hui's awed face. Her mouth was open in a perfect ‘o’ at the amazing ballroom.
“Well, we have some business.” Baekhyun said as he pats Lay’s shoulder. Both men nod.
“Ah right.” You immediately caught on. “See you later, Jeong-Hui.” You hugged her and kissed the top of her head.
“Stay safe.” She says back, reciprocating the hug.
“I’m the one who says that.” You chuckled as you gave a small wave that she returned.
You followed Baekhyun, who was traveling at break-neck speed with his long strides. You had to speed walk to even get close to him.
“Here.” He says suddenly stopping. He turns around and hands you a flute of champagne. You take a moment to catch your breath.
“I know how this goes, Baekhyun.” You hand the flute back to him. “Probably drugged.”
“Yes. Probably.” He places both flutes on an empty tray a nearby staff was holding as he nods in agreement.
“What’s this business?” I ask him.
“A guy that wants to hire you.” He says, running a hand through his hair.
“No.” You say simply, drawing your eyes away from him.
“Eh. How about a dance?” He suggests instead as he pulls out a hand in front of you.
You roll your eyes, but takes his outstretched hand. “Amuse me, Byun Baekhyun.”
“I can do more than that.” He smirks as he pulls you closer. You can’t help but relax against him.
You genuinely smile up at him. You both gracefully sway with the live classical music played nearby. Perhaps this is what a happy ending felt like if you were normal. If.
Baekhyun’s hand on your waist tightened a bit before he pulled your head closer to his chest.
“What’s he doing here?” He mutters as he looks over you.
“Who?” You whisper, trying to look behind you, but Baekhyun pulls you away.
“Nothing. I’m going to go somewhere. Don’t kill anyone... yet.” He says before he leaves you, not before smuggling a peck on your head. “Look for the white suit.”
You just stand there for a moment, confused, before you walk over to an empty space. You look around the large room, observing people.
You note that most of the women in the room are either rich, or young and hanging on the arm of a rich man, old or young.
“Oh my gosh. I love your dress.” You heard a feminine squeaky voice compliment you.
“Thank y-” You cut yourself off at the sight of the figure next to the woman.
“You.” The figure finished for you. You can’t help but glare up to him.
“Uh. You’re welcome.” The woman looked between you and the man, confused. “I’m Eun-ya.” She introduced herself, giving you a smile.
Probably fake. But you could care less.
“Babe, you’re not allowed to talk to other people.” The man said, still staring at you. Not giving any sort of attention to the woman next to him.
“I’m... Na-Ra.” You introduced yourself as one of the fake passport names you kept.
“Oh. This is Chanyeol.” She smirks at the tall man next to her. “He’s one of the richest and youngest bachelors out there.”
Chanyeol slightly flinched when the woman leaned against his chest. He pulls her away when she tries to kiss him.
You tried to hold back your disgust. You felt bad for Chanyeol, most of the women only thought of him as money or power.
“Do you have a date? I don’t think you got here on your own.” She didn’t quite say the last part quiet enough.
“Yes, she does.” You heard a strangely familiar voice behind you. You whip your head to the voice, clenching your jaw at the owner of the voice.
“Sehun?” Chanyeol said surprised. “Didn’t think you’d capture such a...”
“Beauty.” Sehun finished for him. You bit your lower lip, trying to not hit anyone in such a situation.
“Right.” Chanyeol coughs as he eyes you and Sehun. “Think it’s time to go, Eun-ha.”
 “It’s Eun-ya.” Eun-ya corrects.
 “Whatever.” Chanyeol mutters walking away.
You watched as Eun-ya chased after Chanyeol and latching herself to his arm.
“Didn’t think I’d see you here.” Sehun says, moving closer and closer to you. You move back, hitting one of the marble columns.
As you try to swiftly walk away, he easily traps your smaller frame with his taller, broader one.
“What’re doing here?” He brings his mouth next to your ear. His warm breath tickling the side of your face. You try to steady your breathing but you can’t help but gasp at the contact his lips make to your jaw.
You don’t respond, making Sehun trail his mouth down your exposed neck, humming. You try and lift your hands up, but he easily pins them above you.
“You know how much I’ve been thinking about you?” He whispers against your skin, making you shiver.
“You’re the first to surprise me like that.” He smirks. “Guess that means I’ll have to surprise you.”
You gently grab his face pulling it in front of yours. Both of your noses barely touching. You catch a movement in the corner of your eye. You see that it’s a paparazzi that must’ve slipped pass security. You see as he holds his camera and spots the both of you.
You move quickly and press your lips to Sehun’s. Sehun immediately reacts, pushing you harder against the wall. You gave a slight gasp from the impact and surprise, giving Sehun the opportunity to take over.
You hear the surprised gasps of the paparazzi and the small clicks of the camera. You soon heard his footsteps disappear.
You attempted to push Sehun off of you, but that just made him kiss you harder. You let out a muffled yell that he must’ve mistaken for a moan because he started to run his hands all over your body. When he let go of your now swollen lips, he gently nipped your ear and all the way down your neck.
“Sehun.” You gasp, finally getting a breath of needed air.
“We can go to my hotel room.” he mutters giving you a smirk.
“No, dumbass.” You tried to smack him, but his dodged it with his stupidly fast reflexes.
“You want to do it here?” He asks, suggestively.
You just stare at him, actually wondering if someone already did that.
“Wait. Why are you here?” He suddenly asks. You face palm. Of course, the handsome athletic ones were always the most dull minded.
“Wait. Are you here for the job?” He suddenly asks like an excited child.
“Ok, what?” You say confused. “Last time I saw you, I threatened to kill you if you showed your face.”
“Yeah... so?” He shrugs, leaning against your form, an arm above you as he towers down.
“I came to do some business. I needed to owe someone.” You say.
“Ah.” Sehun understood, finally. “I can help.”
“I don’t need your help.” You slip out of his grasp and start to move away.
 “Seriously.” Sehun grabs your forearm.
“Stop, seriously.” You roll your eyes, ripping your arm out from his grasp.
You start to quickly walk away. After looking around you notice a man in a pure white suit. Remembering what Baekhyun said, you decide to meet him.
“Sung-Ri!” You heard Sehun right behind you.
“No. Please, god no.” He mutters easily overtaking you and blocking your path.
“Why not?” You state, trying to get around him. But he grabs you.
“You... just can’t.” Sehun pointedly states as he stares into your eyes.
“Stop bothering me.” You dodge him, moving closer to the man in white.
“No, just listen.” He tries to reason.
“No.” You said as you walk faster.
You go up the man in white. Suddenly you’re hit with a strange feeling as if he was someone you knew. You stop for a moment, but shake your head as you walk closer to him. You politely cleared your throat, to get his attention. As he turned around to face you, your eyes widened.
 “Hello, darling.”

Tumblr media
Baekhyun POV
I watched her leave, chuckling at her raised finger. It soon died down as I was left with silence and my thoughts.
I growled as I ran a hand through my hair. This can’t be happening. It can’t be possible.
“Jealous? Me? No way. And over her? She’s a business partner, not a toy.” I spoke to myself.
I seriously needed to get laid. The night before meeting with Sung-Ri, I told Sehun that I would convince to bring her to our party next week.
“Stupid idiot, dumbass.” I cursed myself. If I couldn’t hold myself back from her, what made someone as reckless as him stay in control.
I sighed, sitting myself on the chair in front of the curtained walkway.
“So... this looks disgusting.” I heard Sung-Ri's voice from the walkway. I looked up to see her in a tight, deep red minidress. I choked when I saw her, quickly looking away to distract myself. But of course, my eyes wandered too her form much too quickly.
The dress ended way too high for it to appropriate in almost any setting. There was practically no neckline and the material became transparent on her back.
“Nope, next.” I coughed, looking away again. As she huffed away, I nonchalantly adjusted myself and tried to calm myself down.
The next dress was not much better. The dress was a brighter red, and the dress was ankle length. But there was a long slit in the skirt that hid practically nothing. And the neckline was low enough that you could probably see everything if you looked down in it.
I widened my eyes at the dress. I felt more and more uncomfortable by each dress, and the thoughts running in my head wasn’t the cleanest.
“You know. You should just choose something.” I offered, not even locking eyes with her.
“Yeah. I’ll... go do that.” I heard the awkwardness in her voice. And released a breath I didn’t realize I was holding when I heard her soft footsteps go behind the curtains.
Minutes later she came out, but in her regular clothes.
“You’ll see, it’s a surprise.” She smirked at me. I smirked back. I was curious, but wanted to enjoy the surprise when it happened.
“Let’s get lunch.” She says.
“Sure, I know a place.” I say, not taking my eyes off her figure as we walked out.
Tumblr media
After having a super weird shopping spree and lunch with Baekhyun, you asked him to drop you off at Jeong-Hui's workplace to pick her up.
“Unnie!” You saw Jeong-Hui run up to you, still in scrubs.
“Hey.” Lay was right behind her. You saw him give a dimpled smile at you.
“Hello, darling.” You say back at her, nodding at Lay.
“I’ll be right back, I just need to get my stuff.” She runs off to some direction, leaving you and Lay. It’s then you notice he wasn’t smiling at you, but Jeong-Hui.
“Don’t bother to involve yourself with her.” You say coldly.
 “What?” Lay askes, genuinely surprised.
“She doesn't need someone like you around her.” You say, frowning.
“I at least treat her like an equal.” He shot back.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Your eyebrows scrunch together as your eyes narrow up at him.
“You treat her like a child.” He says.
“It’s to protect her.” You say, you don’t have to explain yourself to him.
 “From what?” He presses.
“From people like you, and your world.” You say, looking at him in the eye.
“Unnie!” You see Jeong-Hui wave at you.
“Coming.” You chime, a smile immediately breaking your cold exterior.
“Bye Lay sunbae.” She waves at him as you link arms with her.
You turn to see Lay smile wistfully back at Jeong-Hui. You say nothing, you only watched.
“Unnie.” Jeong-Hui pulls your arm. “Let’s go!”
“Yeah, sorry.” You say, seeing that there was an awaiting taxi.
Tumblr media
The days that came up before your ‘payment’ to Baekhyun were mostly a blur. Since that day, both you and Lay were cautious around each other. You never tried to tell him to leave her, knowing it would emotionally harm Jeong-Hui as well. But you watched as they became increasingly close.
The times on campus you’d see Baekhyun, he would just stare at you, not giving his usual annoying entrance. It confused you a bit, but you didn’t think much about it.
Another thing that surprised you was that Suho, or your professor, pretended that your encounter with him had never happened. He went along with lectures and class normally. Although, you’ve caught him staring at you in some instances.
“Can I go with?” Jeong-Hui asks you.
“I told you no. Besides you have a movie date with Lay.” I tell Jeong-Hui as I put on the dark red evening dress.
“We can postpone it.” She insisted, her small hands fluttering around to help you.
“Don’t think he’d like that very much.” You tell her.
She frowns for a moment before she shrugs. “Fine. I’d rather be with Lay than talk to some old people.” She sticks out her tongue.
You chuckle at the fact that she is completely wrong. You heard that the EXO parties were elegant, but once inside, it became much more cult like.
You help each other on make-up and hair.
“You look amazing, unnie.” Jeong-Hui squealed.
“No way. You look gorgeous.” I smile at her.
 “Don’t lie.” She giggles.
You both heard the sound of the doorbell ring. As you both tripped over your feet to get to the door, you grabbed a pair a stilettoes and Jeong-Hui grabbed a pair of yellow converse.
You opened the door to see not one man, but two men.
 “Lay!”
 “Baekhyun?”
Both you and Jeong-Hui say at the same time. You see that Baekhyun was wearing a matching deep red designer suit like your dress. But Lay was wearing a designer striped suit as well.
“Why are you wearing something so...” Jeong-Hui gestured to Lay’s outfit.
“What’s going on here?” You whisper to Baekhyun. Nudging him a bit.
“Dunno. We met each other just now.” Baekhyun leaned down to whisper back.
“You both are brothers.” You lightly swiped at his head. Unfortunately he dodged in time.
“You look ravishing by the way.” He gives you a wink after blatantly checking you out.
 “Wait what?” Jeong-Hui exclaims.
“Sorry I didn’t tell you.” You hear Lay mutter.
 “What about...” Jeong-Hui trails off.
“Here.” Lay pulls out a modest black dress out of nowhere. You then notice what’s happening.
“Hold up.” You put your hands up in front of you. “She is not going.”
 “Why not?” Jeong-Hui whines.
You don’t answer her, exchanging looks with Lay and Baekhyun.
“It’s fine.” Lay insists. “I’ll take responsibility for anything that happens.”
“That isn’t enough.” You say, glaring at him. “What if-”
“Just trust us.” Baekhyun grabs your arm, cutting you off.
You don’t respond. You decide to prove Lay wrong that you didn’t treat Jeong-Hui as a kid. You look at Lay in the eye.
“If something, anything, happens...” You trail off, hoping that Lay knows the consequences.
“So, I can go?” Jeong-Hui asked hopefully, her eyes practically glittering.
“Go get changed, we have to redo your makeup.” I usher her back inside the apartment.
You silently smile at Jeong-Hui's excited form as she changes into the dress. You prayed for the first time in your life, that nothing would happen to her.
Tumblr media
A/N:
I realized Tumblr deleted the line insert thing that I used for time breaks. So now I use that line pic thing.
Also, I had the weirdest conversation with a guy in my class to get inspiration for this chapter. Don’t ask.

Hiatus
 Hello everyone!
First off I want to celebrate and thank that we just recently hit a bit over 70 followers. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to post much but I recently moved and there were a lot of other factors that will later be mentioned.
I think that I’m slowly going to continue Hierarchy and maybe do some other small gigs.
The chunk of the reason why I couldn’t post a lot was because of my move. I recently moved to another city and I still had a bit a school left and the transition was a bit much. But I was recently hospitalized twice in less than a week and the doctors say it’s mainly because of my mental health and stress.
So, I’m getting set up with a therapist that would hopefully help me. (If I ever needed help)
I think I’m writing this to let you guys know that I suppose I’m going to start becoming more active. I’m also trying to set up another blog to help with my mental health. I’m doing that to not only help myself but others in my position.
Again I hope the best for everyone and I hope everyone’s having a stress-free summer!!

You wake up to the streaming sunlight as you stretch your arms out, yawing a bit.
"Kim Jongdae." You mutter as you see the smiling man beside you. You smile back as he gently pecks your forehead.
"Yes?" He smiles warmly at you.
"What are you doing up so early?" You ask as you reach and run your hands through his soft hair.
"Watching you." He murmurs as he wraps his arms around you tightly.
"Are you sure it isn't for something else?" You ask.
"What do you mean?" He says with faux innocence.
"I'm already sore from last night, you are 'not' getting another round." You mutter into his shoulder.
"Please, I already have a problem down there." He says.
"There's something called a bathroom and hands." You point out.
"You're so much better." He whines.
"I don't care about your superhuman stamina, I will literally rip in half." You wiggle around in his arms.
"Then I'll sew you back together." He insists.
"No breakfast." You tell him.
"You'll be my breakfast." He says as his lips press onto yours.
He immediately slips his tongue inside as he turns you over and pins your hands above you. He breaks the kiss before pressing his lips down your neck.
"Kim jongdae!" You squeal as his mouth reaches somewhere it shouldn't.
"What? I said you'd be my breakfast." He smirks against you.
"Get the hell off me." You shove his face away from your body.
"Why?" He whines.
"We have to wake up Hwa-joon." You use your child as an excuse as you pick up the clothes on the floor.
"He can wait longer." Jongdae comes up behind you. "How about we make another one?"
"Jongdae!" You whine out in frustration. "We can go as many rounds later tonight."
"Promise?" He asks excitedly.
"No." You mutter as you finish changing and walk out to the kitchen.
"Am I cast away so carelessly by my own wife?" He whines as he walks into the kitchen.
"Can you get the salt for me?" You ask as you point to the cabinet above you.
"I will get you that salt, my lovely wife, because I am a caring husband that always does what my beautiful wife wants." He says as he hands you the salt.
"Jongdae?" You say his name as you salt the eggs you're frying.
"Yes, I will always listen to whatever my caring wife wants." He says.
"I will." You mutter.
"You will what?" He asks as he caringly back hugs you.
"Promise you." You mutter leaning into his touch.
"Okay." He hums as wraps his arms around you.
"But seriously, we need to wake up Hwa-joon." You tell him as you finish the eggs and put them on a plate.
"I know." He chimes.
"Like right now." You tell him. "And you're going to be late for work."
"It's fine, they don't really care. I see them everyday." Jongdae shrugs.
"Mommy?" You both turn to see your son rubbing his eyes tiredly.
"Hwajoon-ah, why are you up so early?" You ask him as you crouch down and rub his head.
"I heard you and dad arguing." He said. "Don't fight."
"We weren't fighting, Hwajoon-ah." Jongdae tells him.
"But you were talking quietly like how you do when you guys fight." He says, lowering his head a bit.
"It's just that I kept a secret from mommy, that's all." Jongdae whispers to his son.
"Really? But I thought that secrets were bad." Hwajoon mutters as Jongdae lifts him up and carries him around.
"It's a surprise secret." That makes your son gasp aloud.
"What? Tell me." He whines.
"If I tell you, it wouldn't be a secret or a surprise anymore." Jongdae smirks at you as you roll your eyes.
"You can tell me." Hwajoon looks at Jongdae in anticipation.
"Hmm, maybe later." Jongdae hums.
You bring the eggs, toast, along with other breakfast assortments to the table. You can't help but smile at Jongdae and Hwajoon play around as they wait patiently for food.
After all of you finish eating, Jongdae carries Hwajoon back to him room.
"Please don't dress him up like he's going to Paris Fashion Week again. He's going to school, Jongdae." You tell them as you start to clean up.
"Okay!" Both of them yell out in reply. You smile as you shake your head.
Only a few moments later, both of them come out fully dressed. Hwajoon runs up to you and you embrace him in a small hug as you hand him his lunch.
"Can I get a hug?" Jongdae smiles at you as he puts his arms out to you.
"Not a hug." You mutter as you peck his cheek lightly.
"Mommy, are you going to come with us?" You look down to see Hwajoon tugging the hem of the shirt you're wearing.
"I will. I'll go change, you can go get your backpack." You kiss the top of his head as he nods and rushes to get his stuff.
"Hurry, I don't want to wait." Jongdae smiles as he brushes his nose against your neck.
"Okay, okay." You smile back at him. "You better not do anything weird while I change."
"I don't know what you're talking about." He smiles mischievously as he laughs.
You roll your eyes as you rush into your bedroom and hurry to put on something decent for the day. Today was a rare day. Both you and Jongdae managed to get off from work at the same time.
"Let's go." You say as you run out the bedroom to see Jongdae and Hwajoon already putting on their shoes.
"Mommy, hurry up. We might be late." Hwajoon whines as he hands you your shoes.
"Don't worry, Hwajoon-ah." You reassure him as you put your shoes on.
Jongdae stands by the door as he opens it for all of you. He locks the door behind him as he lifts Hwajoon up and the three of you climb into the car.
As Jongdae puts Hwajoon down, he gets into the front seat and starts the car. You lift Hwajoon to his carseat and buckle him up. Afterwards, you climb into the passenger seat.
"To school!" Jongdae yells.
"To school!" Hwajoon copies him.
"To school." You repeat but in a normal inside voice.
You shake your head as both your son and your husband sing along with the radio. At times like this, you think that Hwajoon is almost an exact copy of Jongdae.
"Dad!" Hwajoon suddenly shouts.
"What? Did I hit something?" Jongdae suddenly looks around, worried.
"No. Isn't this a song you sang?" Hwajoon points to the radio.
"It is." You exclaim as you recognize his voice.
"Woah. I want to sing as good as dad!" Hwajoon waves his hands around.
"You already do." You tell him. "You're the best singer in the entire world."
"Even better than me?" Jongdae pouts.
"Maybe." You smile playfully at him.
"So cool!" Hwajoon points to the radio again as Jongdae's song still plays.
"Everyday I'm so lucky!" Jongdae sings along with the chorus.
"I want to confess my hidden heart, I love you." You finish as Jongdae presses his lips on yours.
"Dad!" Jongdae pulls back, surprised. "It's a green light."
"Oh yeah." Jongdae laughs as you begin to hear the honking behind your car.
Finally, Jongdae pulls up in front of Hwajoon's elementary school. You all get out as you help Hwajoon with his seat buckles.
"Be good at school, okay?" You kiss Hwajoon's forehead.
"Work really hard." Jongdae does the same. "Fighting!"
"Yeah. Fighting!" Hwajoon fist-bumps him excitedly.
"Love you." You and Jongdae each hug Hwajoon once more.
"I love you too." Hwajoon runs off as he waves to both of you.
The both of you wave back as you lean on Jongdae. He looks down at you as he smiles, wrapping an arm around you.
"So, what's next?" You ask him as you see Hwajoon walk into the school building with his friends.
"Well, we can always try and make another one." He smirks.
"Kim Jongdae!" You yell.
"What?" He lifts you up as he spins you around. As he puts you down, he presses his forehead against yours.
"You're absolute bliss."

⇄A/N: After what has happened this week, I’m sort of ‘shocked’? I just hope the best for the victims involved.
→ Song Choice: Hypnotic - Vanic x Zella Day
Tumblr media
It was the anniversary of that night. That fateful night.
It was deep into the night when you saw him. He looked ethereal with his dyed hair, leaning against the bar.
You would've carried on with your night if it wasn't for his captivating eyes, begging you to come to him. And so you did go up to him.
He intrigued you as his laugh sounded like angels singing, his voice as smooth as silk. His smile brightened the whole room as his eyes twinkled like stars.
You couldn't help joining him that night, and then the night after that. And many nights after that.
It wasn't always rough, passionate nights with him. Some nights both of you looked up at the stars or warming each other through the cold winter nights.
He was everything you needed, and you to him.
It wasn't long until you fell for him. But there was something you didn't know.
You always wondered why he never told you his name. Or what he did to gain such luxurious things.
One night, you made a mistake. You told him you loved him.
You were waiting for him to tell you the same back, and both of you felt the words on his tongue. But they never came out.
Instead, he left.
He suddenly disappeared. His apartment was always empty, and soon someone else lived there.
It was then when you realized you never really knew him.
You never really knew the man that stole your heart, never to be found again.
"I really don't want to work with them." You deadpan.
"Why not? They're all hot." Your co-worker says as she wiggles her eye-brows.
"Nope." You say as you turn back to your desk and the mountains of paperwork.
"It's not permanent, it just for a month or so." She says. "I'm putting a good word in for you."
"I don't want to." You shrug.
"Why not? You were always so ready to volunteer with this kind of stuff." She frowns.
"Yeah, but I really don't want to get mixed up with the famous." You wave your hands around.
"You're just stuck with one of them for around a month." She says.
"How many times?" You huff aloud.
"What?" She asks, confused.
"How many times a week?" You ask.
"Five. All workdays." She says. "It's just a regular 'talk with patient' kind of job."
"Three." You begin to bargain.
"Four." She says. "Take it or leave it."
"Fine. Four." You mutter.
"Yay." She fist-pumps. "Tuesdays through Fridays."
"Okay, okay. When?" You ask as you get up, organizing your desk.
"Right now, obviously." She says.
"Were you so sure that I was going to say yes?" You ask her.
"Yup." She nods. "Now get ready, I'll tell him to come inside in a few."
"Just leave already." You grumble as you begin to clear your desk except your pen, laptop, and note book.
You groan as you think about what you just got yourself into. Giving one-to-one therapy to some transfer client? What were you, a charity? And someone famous?
"Come in." You say as you hear the door knock.
You don't look up at first, but when you do you stop breathing. Both of your eyes were trained on each other as he slowly closed the door.
"Here's his file." You barely flinch as your co-worker places his file onto your desk and leaves.
"Sit." You cough as you break the trance. He nods as he sits on the comfortable chair in front of your desk.
You look through his file, seeing what his former psychiatrist did.
"Kim Seokjin." You mutter his name, tasting it.
The man doesn't respond as he stares at you. You see the emotions in his eyes as you look into them. You break eye-contact as you continue to look through the folder.
"What do you do, Mr. Kim?" You ask him, not looking at him in the eyes.
"I-I sing." His once smooth voice cracks as the raspiness surprises you.
"Do you sleep well?" You ask him the normal questions, but both of you know that they have an underlying meaning to them.
"Not as much as before." He says.
"What keeps you up at night?" You ask as you re-read the same sentence again and again, not able to concentrate.
"You, you keep me up at night." He almost whispers. "I'm so sorry."
"I don't know what you're apologizing for, Mr. Kim." You blankly state.
"Please don't." He murmurs.
"Don't what?" You feel yourself slipping. "Ignore you like what you did to me?"
"You don't understand." He says, but he doesn't try to stop you.
"Understand what?" You huff. "I bet you though I was easy. Is that why you took me home that night?"
"No." He says.
"But really, as soon as I said 'I love you' you get out of my life." You clench your jaw. "Leaving without a trace."
"I know." He says.
"Do you really?" You ask him. "Do you really know what you did to me?"
"I know." He repeats.
"You took something from me, Seokjin." You shook your head. "No, not took. More like stole."
"I know." He repeats again. He doesn't say anything else as he looks down. "I'm sorry."
"You know what's funny?" You say. "I've learnt more about you today than any other day I've met you."
He looks at you helplessly as his emotions are mirrored in your eyes. You thought you would feel better if you lashed out, making him feel the pain the guilt.
But it only seems like everything was much more worse.
"That's enough for today." Is all you manage to say before he nods and leaves.
The next day he walks in you notice a deep purple beneath his eyes. He barely could stand up as he stumbles into your office. He gives you a painful laugh that quickly died.
"I'm sorry." Is all he says before sitting down.
"What keeps you up at night?" You ask him.
"The regret of losing you." He replies.
"What makes you regret?" You mutter as you push the words out of your throat.
"That I never answered you truthfully that night."
The day after that he stumbles into your office no better than the day before. You smell a hint of perfume onto his hastily worn clothes as he sits down.
"What made you like this?" You say.
"You." He replies. "The only thing I can't have is lost."
"What's lost?" You ask after a few moments.
"Both of our hearts. Taken by each other."
"Are you doing anything this weekend?" He asks after almost a whole session of silence.
"No." You reply and he doesn't reply for a long time.
"Disappointment." He says.
"What?" You murmur.
"That's the thing that held me back from you."
The weekend crawled by as the only thing you did was lay on your bed. Staring up at the ceiling.
"Hey." You look up to him walking into your room. You never really called him by his name, so used to not giving him a name.
"Hello." You reply.
He sits down as you notice new bruises on his knuckles. You don't ask, but you want to.
"Why did disappointment hold you back?" You asked him.
"I didn't want you to wake up every morning to see someone like me." He smiles sadly. "But maybe I was wrong for what you would think."
"Maybe."
"Do you think that trust was a problem?" You ask him as you see fresh cuts on his face the next day.
"Yes." He nods. "I didn't trust myself with you. But I should've trusted you with me."
"Please don't." You tell him.
"I can't." He says. "I won't stop."
"Don't fight, then. It's not good." Your hands gently grab his larger ones as you fingers gently run over his bruised knuckles.
"I'm sorry."
"What do think about love?" He suddenly asks you.
"Love?" You say. "I think that once it's there, it won't ever stop."
"Really?" He asks.
"But I wished that it would be strong enough for two." You nod.
"I thought that too. But I was wrong." He stares into your eyes.
"I wish I was wrong."
The weekend after that was filled with scattered memories. You couldn't stop the emotions from flowing out. Everything was covered by alcohol and lonely nights.
"Do you think anything would've changed?" You ask him. You notice that there were no fresh bruises or cuts, but haphazardly placed bandages. Placed by clumsy hands.
"Yes. Everything would've changed." He says. "I wish that change was reality."
"Do you think it's too late?" You quietly look at him.
"I hope it isn't."
"Will you ever find it?" He asks you suddenly.
"Maybe. If someone gives it back, I think it'll be found once again." You nod. "What about you?"
"I think it's already found." He says.
"I thinks so too."
The next day he never comes. The day after that he doesn't either.
You push down the feeling of worry but eventually it's the only thing you can think about. You rush into the hospital, you had no idea if he was really there, but you had a feeling. A feeling you trusted.
"Kim Seokjin, please." You ask the woman at the hospital counter.
"Are you his immediate family?" The woman pointedly asks.
"Yes, I'm his fiance." You blurt out. You brush it off, you can just lie out of it later.
"Room 503." She says. "Take the elevator and it's on your left."
"Thank you." You say as you rush to the elevator.
You barely think you get there fast enough when you burst into the hospital room. You see him there, tubes running through him as you see casts on several limbs and bruises all over his face.
"You're here." His raspy voice fills your ears as you can't help the tears filling your eyes.
"You told me you wouldn't fight." You mutter.
"I had to." He chuckles a bit. "At least it made you come for me."
"I'm sorry." You choke out.
"For what?" He asks you.
"You tried, but I blocked you out." You say as the tears begin to hurt your eyes.
"But you're here now." He says.
"Seokjin." You say his name.
"Please say it again." He whispers.
"Kim Seokjin." You say again.
"Don't cry." He says. "I won't die."
"You don't know." You say.
"I love you." He says. "I have always loved you, and will always."
"Seokjin." You say his name.
"I lied to you when I left. I don't deserve you, you know." He smiles sadly. "I don't deserve those tears."
"But you don't deserve to die." The tears begin to blind you.
"I won't." He says. "I'm talking right now, aren't I?"
"That doesn't mean anything." You cover your mouth to attempt to stop the loud hiccups.
"Excuse me, miss." You turn to see several nurses come into the room. "We need to take Mr. Kim into immediate surgery."
"I'm sorry." Seokjin whispers to you. "I love you."
You can't say anything as they take him out. You choke onto your tears as you slowly follow them out, watching them as they disappear behind the restricted access.
You sit in the seats in front of the doors. Waiting for him. You were always waiting for him.
Eventually, waiting wasn't enough as sleep and tears consumed you.
One Year Later
"It's the anniversary of that day." You nod as you hear him behind you. Your fingers play around with the ring on your left hand's ring finger.
"I know." You say as you feel him wrap his arms around you.
"Hmm. That fateful day." He hummed. "I felt like hell, you know? But when I saw you, everything slipped away."
"I still hate you for that." You tell him pressing your nose to his neck.
"I know, I'm sorry." He says as he rocks from side to side.
"I really thought you were going to die." You tell him.
"But I'm here now." He said as he tightened his hold on you.
"The things we've been through, Seokjin." You smile.
"At least it was together. Through most of it, anyways." He replies.
"I've finally found it." You tell him as you wrap your arms around his.
"What?" He asks as he looks at you.
"My lost heart."

⇄A/N: I refuse to accept that I can’t still cherish these amazing 11 boys.
Tumblr media
You wrapped your fluffy scarf around your neck for the upteenth time. You huffed out white warm air as you slightly shivered against the blistering cold. You sighed out again as you checked for watch.
You shook your head as you looked around once again, only to become disappointed once again. You turned back and walked back into the warm store.
“He’s not here, again?” Your co-worker, Chu-Ju nodded towards you as you took your scarf and coat off. You gently placed them in the employee room as you grabbed your apron and headed out with Chu-Ju.
“Yeah. I don’t know why I’m even surprised.” You mutter as you see the usual customers file in.
“I would just leave him.” Chu-Ju shrugged as she began making another customer’s order.
“I really don’t have a viable reason to.” You reply as you walk up to the counter, waiting for the next customer.
“Yes, you do.” Chu-Ju scowls at the thought of what you’re current boyfriend has done to you.
“Prove it.” You know that she will prove it, but it wouldn’t matter anyways. You didn’t do anything without a reason.
“He stands you up, doesn’t care about your birthday or ceremonies, comes home drunk or late almost every single day.” Se counts off her fingers. “Oh wait. He’s fucking abused you and kicked you out of your own house.”
“It’s not abusing. Don’t throw around such a term, Chu-Ju.” You frown, but unintentionally rub your wrist. Luckily, it was only a slight purple now.
“Yes it is.” Chu-Ju began waving around the customer’s order in anger. “He’s hit you, pushed you, and verbally humiliated you.”
“He’s just stressed. He needs someone loyal to keep him stable.” You protest, but you can’t help be notice how your voice quiets down.
“Yeah, sure.” Fortunately, Chu-Ju left the touchy subject as she called out the order.
You blank out as you look out of the large windows of the store. You admire the sunny weather and think if you’d be able to have enough time to walk around in the park.
“A medium sized black coffee, please.” A voice interrupts your thoughts as you look up.
You see a brilliantly handsome man giving you a slight smile as he waits for you. You give him a sheepish grin as you grab a cup and a marker.
“Name for the order?” You ask.
“Minhyun.” The man answers.
“Minhyun.” You repeat as you write his name down. You sneak a look at his face before placing down the cup.
“I hope you’re going to ask for my number next.”  He chimes as his smile never wavers.
“Ah. I have a boyfriend.” You mutter quietly as you write his name down. For some reason, you wished that you hadn’t said that.
“Really? It’s too bad.” You can’t help but notice how his smile disappeared as he said that.
“Just slide your card there, or insert the chip.” You point to the card reader as you hand Chu-Ju the cup and order.
“Woah. Who’s handsome?” She nods over to Minhyun.
“A customer.” You roll your eyes as you nudge her to do her work.
“Here’s your receipt.” You hand him the white paper as he takes it from your hands. His warm hands linger on yours for a few moments before he takes the receipt.
“Thank you.” He mutters under his breath as his eyes lock with yours.
“You’re welcome, come again.” You smile up at him as you say your usual employee line.
It takes a few moments after Minhyun leaves before you can relax. You exhale deeply as if a large weight has been lifted off your shoulders. You dramatically gasp for air as you grip the countertop.
“Too hot?” Chu-Ju comes behind you, scaring you a bit.
“Too hot for anyone to handle.” You smile back at her. “Whatever, I’m taken.”
“With that piece of shit?” Chu-Ju sneers. “Don’t think so. Just break things off, no strings attached.”
You don’t answer as you just turn your head. It might’ve been in shame or guilt. But, you were much too attached to break things off. Afterall, he was your first love.
The rest of your shift goes quickly. You nod to your other co-worker as they arrive to relieve you of your duties. You quickly put on your coat and scarf, hoping that you’d have enough time to spend some time walking in the park.
You check your phone, frowning as you saw no notifications. You quickly type out a text for your boyfriend.
You: Just got out of work. I’m going to get some groceries before going home.
You tuck your phone in your pocket, not bothering to check your phone, knowing that your boyfriend won’t even read it. You whistle as stroll in the nearby park. You’re surprised that there isn’t many people there, even if it was a weekday.
As you decide to finish your stroll, you take a small shortcut to the bus stop. The soft sounds of meowing catches your attention in one of the alleys. You couldn’t help but go in and look at them.
You see as three kittens, all different colors and breeds are in a worn down box. You play with them for a few minutes, remembering how you always wanted a pet.
You then think of your boyfriend, imagining how angered he would be to find a bunch of kittens in your apartment. Before you could think about anything else, the loud crashing of the metal door, besides you and kittens, startle you.
You almost scream but stay silent as you see a man stumbling out of the door. You look in horror as the man’s face is purple and bruised up as well as blood streaking down his body and face.
Then, another man calmly steps out of the metal door. The man is dressed in an expensive black suit, contrasting to the bleeding man’s street clothing. You gape silently as you begin recognize the man.
The man in the suit pulls out a silver revolver as he tosses it from one hand to another. He then proceeds to hold it in his right hand, observing the weapon before glancing at the bleeding man. The bleeding man doesn’t say anything, but he grasps the wall as if he was trying to climb up it.
Suddenly, the man in the suit aims the gun at the bleeding man’s temple, pulling the trigger. Even though you partially expected it, the loud sound of the gun going off surprised you. But the limp, dead body in front of you scared you even more.
You must’ve gasped because the man in the suit look straight at you. His face softened before hardening. You rip your eyes off his as you look towards the now dead man. A chill runs down your spine as you look into his dead eyes.
You then look up at the man, wondering with your eyes if you’ll have the same fate as the dead man in front of you.
You only manage to get a few words out of your mouth before someone knocks you out.
“Park Ji-Hoon.”

Excuse Me

⇄A/N: Just something I conjured up. Not my best, but something ‘heartwarming’ or whatever. BTW, I used Doyoung’s real name.Enjoy!~
Tumblr media
You trudged up to the store door, about to faint of exhaustion. You knew that the piled up all-nighters, school, and work was going to eventually take a toll onto you. You gasped as you used all of your body weight to open the damned door. You tripped and stumbled inside, almost cursing the mocking dings of the bell.
You hear a long sigh beside you. You could barely find the energy to turn towards the person, so you just slightly turned your head.
“You should probably be resting right now.” You see your manager frown at your appearance as she helped you stand up.
“No. I need the money.” You gasp out, feeling the swirling dizziness of the lack of sleep and overworkment.
“Really, you should be resting.” She insists as she carefully walks you back out.
“Seriously, I do. I can handle a shift before I go.” You try to plaster the brightest smile you possibly could.
“Fine, but if you don’t rest...” Your manager warns as she helps you behind the counter.
“Yeah, yeah.” You shrug as you collapse onto the seat behind the counter.
“I hate to leave you like this.” Your manager frowns once again.
“I’ll call or something.” You wave your hand at her, gesturing for her to go already.
Her frown deepens but she nods, slowly leaving the store with her coat. She looks at you for another moment before leaving. You can’t find the energy to follow your eyes towards her direction. But, you’re slowly becoming blinded by the bright artificial lights above you.
You groan as you lift your head to the upright position. You look around the store, noticing that no one’s there. You think about the probability of someone coming into the store while you just sleep for a bit.
Before you could even finish deciding, the lingering darkness of exhaustion consumes you.
“Hello? Excuse me?” You hear a male voice. You open your eyes before squinting at the bright lights. You see a man towering over you as he waves a hand in front of your face.
“Hmm?” You murmur as you unintentionally observe his face. A lazy smirk appears on your face at his handsomeness.
“Miss.” He says as he lightly shakes you on the shoulder.
“Dreams.” You mutter. Your surroundings are blurred but him.
“What?” He gives you a confused look. “You need to wake up.”
“Why?” Your eyes automatically start to close at the thought of sleeping. It isn’t until you realize where you are you bolt up.
“Sorry!” You blurt out, suddenly awake.
“Ah.” The man gives you a half-smile as he now gives you space.
“D-Did you need anything?” You stutter as you pretend to organize. “O-Or do need to pay?”
“Um, I’m the new part-timer here.” He says and you notice the familiar red vest on him.
“Oh, yeah.” You smile up at him. “Did you get training and such already?”
“Yeah, this is my second time actually.” He smiles down at you.
“Uh, Kim Dong-yoon?” You read off of his name tag.
“Yep.” He says, popping the ‘p’. You nod as you introduce yourself, showing him your name tag as well.
“I didn’t want to wake you up, but I had a question.” He starts.
“Oh, yeah. What is it?” You bring yourself awake.
“Um, do you...” He trails off as you giving a questioning glance. “Are you free after this?”
“Um, not really. I sorta have to...” You put your hands together and put it under your tilted head, signaling sleep.
“Sorry, yeah.” He sheepishly grins. “How about I walk you? I’d hate for you to collapse or something.”
“Sure.” You say. You didn’t exactly trust him, knowing that you’d just walk a block away from your apartment before leaving him.
“That’s good.” His smile brightens. Both of you just look at each other smiling before the sound of the door snaps both of you to reality.
“Hello.” You chime in as you see a young couple walk into the store. You cringe as you smell the strong scent of alcohol from them as the female giggles.
They both pay for some ramen and beer before they show you a make-out session in front of you while you scan their items. You cough loudly when you finish, handing the couple back their belongings.
“Almost finished?” You see Dong-yoon appear from behind an aslie.
“Yep, just 30 minutes to go.” You say. “I must’ve slept for a really long time.”
“Yeah, for almost 3 hours.” He points out.
“You knew?” You exclaimed, partially embarrassed.
“Yeah, I only got in a few minutes after you came in. I thought you needed the sleep so I didn’t say anything.” You give him a grateful smile.
For the rest of those short 30 minutes, you and Dong-yoon just talked. You found out that he actually went to the same college as you, but not same classes.
As you both finished your shifts you started to close up the store. You begin to clean up a bit when Dong-yoon stops you.
“You should wait out there, I can finish up.” He smiles up at you. You only nod, grabbing your coat and walking out the door. You find a bench right in front of the store, sitting down. As soon as you sat down, it was like all of the piled up stress and exhaustion just poured itself onto you.
It wasn’t long before you began to sleep again.
Dong-yoon POV
I finished cleaning up and locking up the store when I noticed that she was sitting on the bench in front of the store.
I carefully locked the door, gripping the keys as I mentally gather my courage. I barely had enough to wake her up and even ask her to walk her home.
“Are you ready?” I ask as I touch her shoulder. I partially expected her to scream out in fear, but she only slumped over limply.
“Holy shi-” I managed to remember to whisper. My hands shook as I waved them in front of her body. She couldn’t be dead, I literally just left her outside for a few minutes.
It wasn’t until I noticed the small movements of her chest that I knew that she wasn’t sleeping. I gave out a long sigh as I mentally fist pumped.
I carefully lifted her off the bench, into my arms. I slowly began to walk, surprised that she was a bit lighter than expected. I walked to her apartment with a little bounce in my step.
I already knew where she lived because I only lived a floor below her. A complete coincidence, but one that I’m grateful for.
It wasn’t until I came to her front door, I realized I didn’t know her pin code. I groaned out in anger as I slam my head onto the wall, careful to not hurt her. I decided to just take her to my apartment, out of courtesy.
“Yeah, courtesy.” I mutter under my breath as I carefully walk into my apartment. I frown at the slightly unkempt apartment. But I slightly nod, satisfied that at least my room was clean.
I sighed as I carried her to inside my room. I laid her down before taking a step back and staring at her. I flinch a bit when she groans and moves around. I tilt my head a bit as I gently take the red employee vest off of her. I take the vest and neatly fold it on the nightstand beside her.
“Good night” I whisper into the silent room before lightly closing the door. I exhaled deeply as I lean against the closed door.
You yawn tiredly as you stretch your arms. You snuggle into the gray covers, inhaling the scent of cologne. It’s then you notice that your covers aren’t gray, and you don’t even wear cologne.
“Shi-” You jolt up, looking around. You wonder if you were kidnapped. You look around to see your employee vest on top of the nightstand next to the bed. You pick it up, confirming that it is yours. You place the vest back on top of the nightstand.
You go towards the nearby window to see it’s still night. You silently walk out of the room.
You notice how similar the layout of the home is to your own apartment. You turn around, getting a full 360 view of the living area. You gasp loudly as you see a body on the dark couch. You immediately cover your mouth as you see the body groan out in exhaustion.
You walk closer to the body, now knowing that it’s a man. You visibly relax as you finally notice that it was just Dong-yoon.
You smile at his adorable sleeping form. You walk back to his bedroom and carry the thick comforter as you carefully place it on top of him.
After checking your phone that you found on the nightstand, you realize that it’s almost 6 A.M. You breathe out, trying to decide what to do.
You realize that you should leave and get a head start for your class that morning. You begin to grab all of your stuff as you give Dong-yoon another smile before leaving.
You knew it was a bit weird to be so comfortable around him, but you had a strange feeling that you’ve already met him before. You shake off the feeling and type in your address in your phone.
You look at it confused as you notice that the map wasn’t showing you any more direction. It takes you a few moments before you realize that you’re already in your apartment building.
That’s when it hits you. That’s where you recognise Dong-yoon. He was you neighbor. Your apartment was literally a floor above his. You stared at his apartment door, wondering if he already knew.
An idea hits you as you rush up to your apartment to get a pen and a piece of paper.
That morning, Dong-yoon woke up to his comforter around him. But, you were gone. Of course he was disappointed. He looked around his apartment in a hopeful manner, trying to find you, even though he knew you have already left.
He runs out of his apartment, almost tripping over the strange object in front of his door.
He looks back to the object in front of his apartment door. He immediately smiles as he knew it was from you.
He crouches down before the object, lifting it up gently. The sleek, black notebook was a bit bigger than his hand. He began to open it and smiled brightly. He saw a scribble of text and a phone number on the first page.
“You never really walked me home, you know?”
