hey just to clear something up: it’s okay to want notes on your fics or your art or gifsets or character analyses or whatever you’ve put your time into and shared. it’s okay to want people to acknowledge your hard work, and if you post it on this site the only way you actually know people are enjoying it is if they interact with it. that doesn’t make you greedy or whatever. you can write/draw/etc something for yourself and also be upset if doesn’t do as well as you thought it would. i see so many people say, “I know I shouldn’t care about notes…” and that’s just not fair to yourself. this is a social media site. you’re not wrong for wanting the social part of it.

I keep coming back to how much Taylor did not need to release this record and how much courage it shows that she did. These lyrics touch on it:

The general public saw her as at the top of her game and America’s Sweetheart dating the football star. The Brads, Dads, and Chads had something to say but she actually seemed to have more defenders than ever before. Like this is the most recent image the general public has of her

And she chose to put out this one.

She wasn’t on trial anymore, the scandal was contained, so she didn’t need to put in a plea, but she does actually want people to know and understand her

for such a poignant moment in the story, there is shockingly little fanart of maysilee’s death, especially considering that katniss directly compares haymitch’s reaction to it to her own reaction to rue’s death.

you’d think that katniss 1) comparing maysilee’s death to rue’s and comparing the intensity/ hopelessness she and haymitch both felt in that moment and 2) comparing haymitch and maysilee’s partnership to her and peeta’s would garner some more attention.

this moment occupies my thoughts way too damn much. maysilee herself occupies way too much space in my brain given her brief appearance (/pos). but like she’s so important to the story overall—to haymitch’s story especially.

to be clear, I’m not saying people have to have the same interpretation of their relationship as me (hint: look at my username lol), I just want people to notice how important their connection was, regardless of their dynamic.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I think people who are harsh about Frodo have either 1) not yet experienced deep suffering, or 2) experienced deep suffering but haven’t yet been able to process it.

Frodo has both suffered and processed his pain. The level of forgiveness he shows, even towards Gollum on the mountain, moments after he’s gotten his finger bitten off, is extraordinary and shows how well he knows and understands his own suffering. And the fact that he values peace above all else and acts upon that value is important too. Only people who have processed their pain can truly keep from perpetuating the cycle.

The character of Frodo challenges people to face their demons and their pain. Frodo is also humble. He knows his limits. He accepts that his life will never be the same, and that he must go west and seek healing. Two more challenges: be humble, and seek healing.

It’s no wonder that Frodo is such a controversial character. He’s in all of us. But do we love and care for the part of us that is deeply wounded, or do we disdain it and call it weakness?

It’s legit insane that it took TWO FULL YEARS to get to the only decision that ever made sense but it’s a win for clean sport and clean athletes that Kamila Valieva got the maximum possible ban.

That being said, if nothing will be done about the complicity of her coaching team and the entire Russian skating federation, they will continue doing it over and over again, we all know none of their athletes were ever clean, they just weren’t caught.

It will be very very satisfying if Russia will be stripped of their team medal, they never earned it anyway.
