Hellven Updates | APRIL

Lets see whats new aye, got a lot of exciting stuff! Rejoice for I have FINALLY finished all 20 background sets. So 3D models and props are ready to go! That task was a chore in itself, probably my least favorite part of this project.

Eitherway, you'll get to see those backgrounds in the panels of the novel.

Freebie - Concept panel

Novel: Onto the novel itself, Hellven is coming along well. I'm half-way through the rewrite. As a quick summary, Hellven was originally a script that I am turning into a full-length novel. That's why the rewrites are taking so long and I've had to push the release date of this first book later this year perhaps around summer. Out of 16 ( unedited chapters ) 9 have been rewritten clocking in at 240p, or 20-30p (4k words) per chapter. The whole "script" is sitting at 400p. I'm predicting this first book to be around 600 - 800 pages. This isn't a fanfic, so I can't really give updates on the novel as one would do for a comic. It's a strange adjustment, but I hope all of my comic concepts is enough to fill in the gaps while we wait.

Novel Mature content: Hellven is a dark supernatural poly romance, it will have mature content and horror imagery, but nothing explicit. Because of this, I've added a 18+ label to any work that is suggestive on my patreon. However, I want to make it clear that Hellven is NOT a smut book.

Hellven contain sex, as topics of sexuality and gender are big themes in the novel. The story caters more to people on the romantic character drama side rather than pure smut lovers. Graphic depictions of sex and genitals will not be shown. That said, I'm not opposed to NSFW material as a whole, far from it, but I don't want to mislead anyone.

Other Side | Hellven

Early on in Hellven's development I played around with the idea of Lilith having a male form for the fun of it, decided to keep it. It fit Lilith's rebellion quite well and is pretty important to their story.

Hellven Updates | March

Hello! I finished my personal project! It was a 500pg book I managed to get printed and shipped to me. I'm not going to be sharing the actual content since It's pretty rough as my first try at a novel fic thing, but I'll show the hardback whenever I do get it in the mail.

But this means I've been focusing all my worktime to Hellven! I'm almost done with the 20 sets, dear gods has it taken forever to get them in order. Here's some previews of the rough non-render models.

As for Hellven itself I have - 16 chapters, 300 pages with 2/16 chapters reedited. A major change to Hellven is it's not longer an extended script, but a fully illustrated novel. So there's some heavy rewrites to incorporate the dialogue into the descriptions. For reference I expect Book One to be about 20 chapters long.

Here's a WIP of the prologue.

So things are going well on that front. I don't have an exact release date atm, I work 2 jobs and it can be tough sometimes to find the time for projects like this. But progress has been going well, my work is pretty flexible. I'm confident in my ability to finish this, I mean already finished a novel whats another one!

Aside from that in between my free-time, I'll continue to doodle BG3 stuff, self-indulgent and whatever. So if you like shitty vampire, awesome- me too!

I did want to say how happy I am about Hellven. I never really considered doing novels before, only comics. But finishing a story through comics or animations seemed like a impossible task. So when I actually finished my first novel, I realized I could do this. I could tell a complete story. It's not gonna be perfect, hell, it might not even make sense. But honestly, I don't care, I just want to be able to finish something.

So thanks for embarking on this journey with me :)

Hellven Updates | FEB

Hellooo~

Ah there's so little time!!! I'm happy that my Hellven announcement was well-received, So what have I been doing the meantime?

I've collected a bunch of 3D models and assets to use in clipstudio, now I'm in the process of making "sets". I have around 20 to make, I know, quite a bit but they aren't too bad. It's mainly limiting the size of the set so it doesn't crash CSP. I'll be using a ton of tricks and effects to mask the rough backgrounds. ( Compare the top pic to the bottom ones )

And aside from that, I've been coming up with a new efficient panel method to get them done the quickest but also in the quality I want them in. Getting this down to a science so I only draw the characters and nothing else.

And there's still all the editing to the actual story. So in sum, I have a lot of work to do, lots of shit to post. Like I tend to have a good backlogged of prepped images, but it also takes time to get my current work ready to "post" off my ipad/laptop/pc. Gods I probably have like 40+ images that need to be prepped between Hellven and random dnd/bg3 stuff. I'm wrapping up a personal project of mine, but once that's done it's full force to Hellven a 100%. Getting those sets done will be a pain in the ass, but once it's done, I'll be able to draw double or triple the panel amount.

2023 Art Summary
