Utilize the library
Don’t wait 20 minutes to text someone back just to seem cool
Tell your friends how much you love them
Cherish your free textbooks… seriously
Help confused freshmen, be nice to them. Remember how much you would have appreciated it a couple years ago
Compliment the other girls in the bathroom
That fight you had with your mom really isn’t that big of a deal
It’s okay to cry
Don’t let your desire for a romantic relationship stop you from forming platonic relationships
Remember that life does go on

Moon
I wonder what would happen
If I took away the moon…
What key would lock the gate
to Mother Nature’s saddest tomb?
Would all the stars have to shine
two times, and just as bright
to light up the deep darkness
of the unforgiving night?
would the sun be sad and lonely
as it sat in the bright sky?
would the people sit in wonder
as they watched the brightness cry?
would the birds just stop their singing
as the wolves would stop their howls,
and the world would sit in silence
as they all would wonder how?
Or would it bring no difference
to the life of day to day?
the world would keep on spinning
like the children and their play?
Would the sun take no notice
to the gap across the sky?
would the people keep their busy lives
would no one wonder why?

Caged
Come now I know shes beautiful, but listen to her song,
The voice you loved to tenderly was crying all along.
The song you begged to hear her sing was killing her inside,
Just look at her so somberly, and hear her desperate cries.
She looks out the window with her wondering eyes so blue,
Still she keeps on singing… And you still don’t have a clue.
She sees them flying in the wind, with wings and feathers high,
Still she knows without a doubt, this was her last goodbye.
Her eyes; they fade. Her heart, once strong; it’s beating growing thin,
she takes a breath, sounds one last note- Caged like shes always been.
