people have always talked so much about the "it'll pass" scene from fleabag and how well done it was but what about the scene with the woman from the bar ... "people are all we've got" simultaneously broke and fixed something in me and it was so wonderfully done

because people are indeed all we've got. and yes most people are annoying and don't understand us and are inconsiderate and rude and plain boring but who other than people will understand what it is to be alive in this world we share? how important it is to show kindness to one another and to be nice and to put love into the universe? people are all we've got and that's why we have to continue to talk to people and make friendships and break relationships in hope that one day, one day we'll find some people who just get us.

I saw your Taylor Swift/the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo post and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's a fictional biography/memoir abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend ala shoeh and has massive Taylor Swift vibes (especially anti hero, last great American dynasty, gold rush, I Did Something Bad, and champagne problems) It also ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters!

No, I haven't. The results from the internet are not very helpful, is this a recent book? I would love it if you would let me know more about this because it sounds really really interesting and might just go on my tbr immediately.
