@blueberry-macaron this story is great. When I saw the art I was literally thinking it would be great if somebody had written a fic about this. And you did!
Honestly, this story is so tragic since it’s terrible on both ends, Marinette being forced into another uncomfortable situation and Luka clearly feeling regret for what he’s doing. But feeling this is a necessary evil and that his presence was already sending fate off course. Almost like he has to make up for it. It just shows how tragic the situation is in canon for them.

Ghost's Soft April, Day 14 Prompt- Baking @ghostsfanficevents
Marinette hummed as she mixed the dough, Luka's guitar a pleasant background noise. The sky outside is still dark but with him by her side it feels perfectly pleasant. The constant fwhap! fwhap! sound from her mixing.
The crackle of a fireplace noise set up on her phone. Marinette smiles as she sways to the rhythm of Luka's music, at some point he'd started singing and his voice made her smile. It wasn't often she got the chance to hear him sing so she savored this.

Aww, this is really sweet.
Like those romantic movies
ao3 ff.net
It was a week before Valentine's Day, and Kagami had already lost her appetite for chocolate.
She regretted asking Marinette to help her make a delicious chocolate heart for Adrien. Still, Marinette had the patience of a saint. She always smiled at her and told her to just try again. Kagami guessed that Luka was rubbing off on Marinette.
Regardless of how often they had to wash chocolate out of their hair, Marinette encouraged Kagami to try again. Still, Kagami was ready to throw in the towel and pay a chocolatier to work their magic.
However, Marinette seemed determined to make this the best Valentine's Day ever. She got behind Kagami and guided her as Kagami was finally able to draw beautiful green lines on the chocolate heart.
When Kagami expressed her adoration for Adrien on the chocolate heart, she giggled and put down the piping bag.
“Thank you Marinette,” Kagami said.
The two girls wiped some chocolate and icing off them, and then they both looked at each other and giggled.
"It was all worth it to help you with your confidence, Kagami."
Marinette's eyes practically burned like blue flames with excitement. "I can't wait for the boys to see this!"
"Yes indeed," Kagami said with a smile.
Kagami was starting to believe that this Valentine's Day would be beautiful.
Although she wished they could eat something other than chocolate this year.
~~~~~
It was the week before Valentine's Day, and Adrien was about to lose his mind getting this ballad right on the ebony piano.
Luka observed the frustrated rich boy like a scientific experiment. Adrien eventually realized that Luka Couffaine had the patience of a saint putting up with a goofball like him.
Adrien had to get this romantic ballad perfect for the Valentine's event and Kagami. He tried his hardest to convey his love for his beloved girlfriend on the piano keys, but he felt his fingers getting tied.
Eventually, the poor boy growled and hit his forehead on the piano keys, and Luka quickly ran over hearing Adrien's desperate melody.
"Everything going alright, Adrien?" Luka asked.
Adrien lifted his head and pouted as he played a few keys. "I just can't get it right…"
Luka gave a sideways grin. "You're doing great, though. I can tell by the music you play how much you adore Kagami."
Adrien blushed as he wiped the sweat from his hands on his jeans. "But this event is special, and I need to make it special."
Luka thought quickly and grabbed his guitar to play some gentle tunes. "It's also supposed to be a fun time," Luka said.
Adrien smiled and closed his eyes as he played along with Luka's beautiful guitar music. Luka opened his eyes momentarily, noticing how happy Adrien looked finding the right tune. Luka couldn't help but continue this harmony for however long it would go.
Then, Adrien slammed his hands on the piano keys.
"That's it! I got it!" Adrien cried.
Luka grinned. "I knew you would."
Adrien got off the bench and ran to Luka to take his hand.
"All this hard work is going to be worth it, Luka! Thank you so much!"
It was smooth sailing to the Valentine's event now.
~~~~~
As the sun set on Valentine's Day in France, Marinette and Kagami were busy brushing each other's hair. Kagami felt she was overdoing it, but Marinette gently brushed her hair and told her that Luka had texted her, saying that he and Adrien would be a few minutes late.
Little did the two girls know it was due to Adrien's anxiety. He noticed that Luka wears ties a bit loosely, and Adrien offered to fix it. As calm and caring as Luka was, he confessed to himself that Adrien was overdoing it, but eventually, Adrien eased up and commented how Luka was very handsome and certainly had all the answers for romance.
In response, Luka squished Adrien's face gently and told him to smile.
They both grabbed the bouquets placed on the patio furniture. Still, the door opened because Marinette and Kagami could hear their boyfriends getting ready outside.
Adrien did a low gasp, and Luka smiled warmly when Marinette and Kagami revealed themselves.
Marinette wore an adorable pink dress with a flower pin, and Kagami wore a bright red dress with a rose pin in her hair.
Both girls ended up giggling from how speechless Luka and Adrien were, but eventually, Luka presented his bouquet of pink roses to Marinette, and Adrien came to his senses. He smiled brightly with a smile that always made Kagami weak and presented the bouquet of red roses to her.
"Here you go, my beautiful, amazing princess!" Adrien said.
"Oh Adrien, you are always so romantic," Kagami said as she accepted his bouquet of roses.
Adrien blushed, placing one hand behind his head and the other on his heart as he laughed. "Years of practice, I guess."
Kagami blushed and looked away for a moment. "You make me fall in love every day, Adrien."
God, if Kagami kept up her charm, Adrien might end up crying happy tears, but it was Valentine's Day, and he didn't want to ruin it, so he took her hand. "Well, that's great to hear since I tend to goof up a lot. But with you, I always try hard."
Kagami beamed as the two of them pressed their noses together. Marinette and Luka quietly watched them together. Marinette was stunned by how corny Adrien sounded while Luka smiled in approval.
"They're hopeless," Marinette whispered.
Luka chuckled. "But I always knew they were a good match, just like us, my Melody."
Marinette smiled and looked at her beloved's aqua-blue eyes. "I couldn't be happier for all of us. I used to think Valentine's Day was the worst day of the year…But you make it amazing Luka."
Luka gently poked Marinette's soft pink cheek and caused her to squeal a bit. "You do as well, Marinette. My beautiful love song always makes Valentine's beautiful for everyone."
Marinette giggled and then batted her eyes as she held her hand for him.
"Shall we, my muse?"
Luka took her hand.
"Always Marinette."
The two couples planned to walk to the event by the Seine as the stars started to appear in the sky. When they got to the event, the guests were super excited about this night of romance and music.
But before everyone could express their affections with music, Marinette and Kagami giggled deviously as they dragged their boyfriends and sat them down at a table with two sterling silver dish covers.
Adrien and Luka watched in anticipation as Kagami and Marinette smiled at them and removed the covers. The boys were in awe, seeing giant chocolate hearts before them. Adrien's eyes sparkled as he quickly grabbed a fork and broke off a piece to eat.
"Mmmmm!" Adrien cried as he smacked his lips with chocolate on them, and Kagami sighed in relief that all that hard work was worth it.
"Oh my god Kagami! This is amazing!" Adrien said between bites of chocolate.
Kagami sat beside her boyfriend and smiled as she used a silk handkerchief to wipe some chocolate off his cheek. She silently thanked the Universe that Adrien wholeheartedly enjoyed her chocolate heart.
Luka took a few bites from his chocolate heart decorated with Marinette's blue musical notes and stopped to pull Marinette on his lap and give her butterfly kisses while whispering sweet nothings. But as much as he enjoyed this moment with her, he turned to Adrien and knocked on the table.
"Adrien, don't forget…" Luka said.
Adrien dropped the silver fork on the table and quickly grabbed the silk napkin from the table to wipe the embarrassing chocolate stains on his face. "Right! I didn't forget!"
When Adrien finished cleaning himself, he took Kagami's hand and led her to the stage. Kagami wondered what surprise Adrien had in store this time, but the thoughtful surprises he came up with made dating him so special.
He led her in front of the stage and gave a devious grin before getting on stage. A few guests gathered around to see what Adrien was up to. He stood beside the ebony piano, took a deep breath, and smiled.
"I dedicate this song to my beautiful girlfriend, Kagami. The one that taught me that love exists. Happy Valentine's Day, my princess!"
Kagami placed her hand over her heart and smiled. The other girls noted how cute it was, and then Adrien started playing the romantic tune. Everyone was in awe over the music, and Adrien kept his eyes closed and smiled, hoping he wouldn't accidentally botch it. But to Kagami, his melody of love made all of Paris come alive on this starry night.
And on the other side of the stage, Luka was playing the guitar for Marinette, and Marinette looked like she was falling in love with him all over again. Soon, Luka wrapped his guitar around Marinette and gently held her small frame as they played guitar together like they had done years before they dated.
It gave Kagami an idea she could not resist, and she walked up to the ebony piano and climbed on top. Adrien's cat senses must have kicked in because he opened his eyes and saw how cute Kagami looked lying on the ebony piano, like in one of those romantic movies.
Kagami giggled at Adrien's cute, blushy response, and Adrien giggled in return.
And both couples continued to celebrate their love.
Sure, they expressed their love and devotion to each other every day.
But Valentine's Day was a friendly reminder to celebrate.
The couples played songs that they hoped in their hearts would never end, but when they needed to rest, Marinette and Luka turned and saw a shooting star in the distance.
Marinette cried and pointed, and Luka wrapped his arm around her as she rejoiced.
Adrien and Kagami stopped, looked at the distance, and were sad when they saw nothing. Kagami got off the ebony piano and sat next to Adrien. Adrien wrapped his arm around her waist and cuddled her close like the sweet black cat he was. He kissed her temple, and Kagami placed her hand on his cheek to pull him in for a kiss on the lips, but they stopped when they noticed another shooting star above them, and both of them nearly fell off the bench.
But Kagami certainly felt lucky, and Adrien felt relieved. Kagami laced her hand with his, and they celebrated for the rest of the night.

A03
When was the last time I was here? Luka found himself asking himself as he turned the key to their apartment.
Was it after the funeral?
Or a few days after?
Was it when he let Alya clean the apartment?
He couldn’t quite remember, but even so, he stepped in.
Why was it so dark in here? And cold? Wasn’t it always nice and warm?
Maybe it was because he hadn’t been here in a while. Yeah, that had to be it.
He probably remembered it wrong.
Luka kicked his shoes at the entrance, stumbling over one as he stepped further into their apartment. He cursed it as he let his bag drop to the floor, listening as the thud echoed out into the kitchen.
It was only then that he realized that he was probably going to have to order take out. After all, he wasn’t greeted by the usual aroma of freshly baked bread he would often smell upon opening the apartment. He stared at the barren counter and unused stove.
“Luka! Welcome back!”
For once, Luka saw the kitchen tidy and sparkling clean. Something he rarely saw in their five years of residing in their apartment.
Usually, he’d see the occasional pot or pan on the counter or on the stove. Some days it was a pastry on the counter cooling off or a plate of food waiting for him. There were days where he saw a timer and scattered recipes on the counter followed by a yell telling him to check the stove or oven.
“Luka! Can you taste the soup?”
His stomach growled, signaling him to hurry up with the ordering. So he made his way to their couch to be able to think about his possible decisions for dinner.
As he made his way over, he could hear each and every step he took with clarity, hating that his socks didn’t muffle it one bit.
He plopped himself onto the couch, quickly opening up his phone and scrolling through apps to see what he wanted to order. He felt the couch dip next to him, a smile curling on his lips as he felt something warm lean into him.
“Hey Mari, want any-” Luka stopped himself when he realized no one actually sat next to him, feeling his throat close up at the realization.
With his hunger long gone, he decided to just watch something on the tv when he realized that the remote wasn’t on the coffee table where it usually rested…on top of the coaster Mari made when they first moved into the apartment.
Luka picked up the crocheted coaster, chuckling at the uneven stitching and obvious mistakes she did while trying to make the round edges of the flower.
“Must you keep reminding me of your absence?” He whispered to himself, laying the coaster back onto the table as he got up, barely registering the answering machine that went off in the kitchen.
“-it’s Tim…just wanted to let you know…if you can’t stay the night, you know you can always stay with us again, okay? Just…call me when you can…okay? ”
He walked past barren walls that were once covered with their wedding photos and photos of their many dates. Photos of their friends and miscellaneous trinkets they would buy while they traveled the world. Photos that were now stored in their guest room that was probably thickly coated in dust.
Getting closer to their room, he swore he heard a voice coming from it, only to find no one there.
Instead, something shiny caught his attention thanks to the small crack of light that made its way through the curtains, causing a reflection to bounce off the metallic item laying on their bed.
He approached it, his throat completely closing up as he picked it up.
Her wedding ring.
The same ring she wore the day she died in the car accident.
The ring that matched his own.
A ring that was the pair to the one he never took off ever since they got married seven years ago.
A ring that once symbolized their promise to each other.
“Til death do us part.” Luka croaked out, feeling his knees give out.
He screamed into the bed sheets, gripping at them as he finally let out everything he had been bottling up all this time.
He didn’t know how long he had screamed and cried for, but he knew it was for a while.
His eyes felt heavy as he stared at the ring in front of his feet, laughing back at him as he pulled the comforter closer to his skin.
Despite its looks, the comforter felt cold against his skin. It did not comfort him in any way; it felt nothing like Marinette’s warm embraces.
Something he had to learn to live without…
A life without Mari…
He slowly closed his eyes, the quietness of the apartment lulling him to sleep.
He hoped he would never wake up…

Things Will Work Out
it’s okay if something took you longer to achieve than you originally thought.
you are not behind in life. take your time and go at your own pace.
don’t compare yourself to others. you are on your own path. every path is different.
everything will work out in the end.
you will get to where you want to be soon

A fitting ending to a great story. I’m glad so many things were addressed here between characters. Also Lila finally got exposed to everyone. This story was amazing.
BURN THE WITCH! - Part 8
Finally! It is finished.
Also…warnings I guess for itchiness. And severe scratching due to itchiness.
Here goes:
Lila was prideful. Exceedingly so. But let it not be said she was too prideful to know when it was time to jump ship.
And the ship that was Paris was sinking fast.

This was so good. I really love the moment between Marinette and Tikki as it felt like a long time coming.
BURN THE WITCH!   Part 7
Trigger warning for attempted burning, attempted murder due to the aforementioned burning, and talk of stalking.
______________________________
The old pictures of witch burnings and those who conduct them were far from imposing figures. Some nowadays would insist it amounted to people in funny hats, and had difficulty taking them seriously. They certainly didn’t seem scary.
Similarly, Rose Lavillant was far from an imposing figure. She stood shorter than almost everyone in the class and didn’t have a mean bone in her body. She was more likely to break down in tears before she would so much as raise her voice at anyone, regardless of the reason. She was one whom the word “scary” didn’t even seem to be a word in the dictionary for.
But seeing Rose standing there in full Witch Hunting regalia was quite possibly one of the most terrifying things Lila had ever seen.
“Lila Rossi! Welcome to the party!”

Oh I had a feeling that the ending was going to go that way. I’m glad that Marinette called Lila out. I wished something like that would happen in the show. Have Marinette lay out how pointless Lila lies are and she had only herself to blame.
BURN THE WITCH! Part 6
Well…you all did ask…
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Marinette chanted as she ran.
Not that anyone was chasing her or there was even any reason to run with Fu completely knocked out. Honestly, she may have just been running from her own guilt more than anything by this point.
She didn’t stop running until she was at least a good several blocks away. Her legs were burning and she was gasping for breath when she finally felt she had made it far enough to rest. With her mind running a mile a minute, she somehow managed to find an alleyway between two mostly empty storefronts to use as a hiding space to try and regroup.
“I’m so sorry…” She had attacked Master Fu. She had hit her mentor over the head. SHE HIT AN ELDERLY MAN WITH A FRYING PAN!
“You should be sorry!” Tikki admonished her from her hiding place in Marinette’s bag. “Now there won’t be anyone to sell us popcorn!”
“NotnowTikki!”

No safe place to hide, Lila. And it’s your own doing. This is leaving fewer places to turn to.
BURN THE WITCH! Part 5
Yes, I WILL finish this.
Lila was soaking wet and didn’t even have to feign how miserable she was when she managed to make it back to dry land and into the first open store she saw.
Said open store just happened to be the Dupain-Cheng Bakery, where none other than Marinette’s own parents were there to greet her.
And fortunately for Lila, they were all too willing to take her under their protection once she explained the “horrible story” of what had happened.
“Oh you poor girl!”
“Come on upstairs. We have a daughter your age. She should have some extra clothes you can change into.“
“Thank you,” She said with a sniffle. “You’re too kind.”
Lila hadn’t even had to do much to get the gullible couple to let her in. She wished she could be proud of that fact, but their determination to help her probably stemmed more from the fact that she currently looked like a drowned rat.
On the plus side, it meant less effort to get what she needed.
On the down side…she did look like a drowned rat.

Dang it really feels like it’s Marinette against the world here. But it’s really hard to feel sorry for Lila considering her trying to still lie to Luka and Anarka after everything that’s happening. Sadly, there seems to be some people who never learn no matter how bad it gets. But I really do want to know what happens next!
BURN THE WITCH! Part 4
It took more time than it should have to lose the akuma and her followers. Partly because of the shoes and the disguise as a whole doing more to slow her down than it did to protect her. Mostly because of just how many people were currently after her—and wow, was it a lot!
But she had managed to not only escape with life and hair intact (despite the attempts of the damn hairnet), but also find a place to hide until the akuma was dealt with.

This was interesting to see Lila’s outlook on life here. The same with Marinette’s and Tikki’s in the earlier chapters. But it seems that Lila has finally met her match here. And in her case the truth had finally come out and her usual tactics don’t hold any power anymore.
BURN THE WITCH 3 (Miraculous Karma)
Lila Rossi had lived her life by the golden rule: You could get people to do anything if they thought you had gold. Honestly, anyone would be blinded by a glimmer if you made it seem it was worth something.
And Lila was very well versed in the allure of pyrite. As well as what people would be stupid enough to do for it. “All that glitters is gold”, after all. A little shine here. A sparkle there. With a few choice words, she could have anyone convinced she was gold.
Metaphorically speaking, of course.
Even when things were found out eventually, it never came back on her. They tended to make excuses for her so much that she didn’t have to bother coming up with lies half the time. Then by the time anything did start to fall apart, she was already moved on. A fresh start with no one the wiser.
Consequences were for other people. And this situation with Witch Hunter was no different. Annoying as it may be.

Wow this is an interesting take on Tikki! Completely understand her mindset after seeing her other chosens treated horribly because of good nature and kindness. She doesn’t want the same for Marinette. But of course, Marinette wants to do the right thing because she is a hero. That why Master Fu chose her. That’s the struggle of being a hero: to be a good hero you sometimes that means saving awful people. And in this case it’s Lila.
BURN THE WITCH 2 (ML Spite/Karma)
Tikki’s take:

Well, it looks like I’ve gotten into another fanfic series. And it appears to be a good one so far. 👍
BURN THE WITCH! (Miraculous Karma)
Warnings: Mentions of witches, the burning of witches, and the likelihood of all of you to join the angry mob.
In retrospect, taking the “high road“ had probably not been the best option when it came to an unrepentant liar who actively chose to deceive and manipulate people for her own personal gain and not-so-secret (to anyone paying attention) amusement.
Marinette had always known that Lila was horrible. She had also known that there were no depths the girl would not sink to. So she wished she could say she was surprised when the news came out.
She wasn’t though. Horrified, yes. Angry, definitely. But not surprised.
