Insatiable you, how you compel
The winds to blow and the sun to sink
Below its divide, to dwell
In the comfort of night. Oh, to drink
The waters of the endless rivers
In your heart, pure and serene despite
The torture of life that delivers
Pain without warning; I praise your might.
How be it so that your touch sears
My skin, with the mark of you, burning
The fabric of my soul, and thus clears
The fog inside; my mind is yearning.
My love, my insatiable you,
If you willed mountains to move, they would.
There is no such thing I wouldn’t do
To keep your spirit pure and heart good.

My head, my soul, how you have failed
To protect my poor heart and guard
From the tender pleasure that veiled
The aching scorch which slowly marred
My palms, so now all that I touch
Is stained by my shameful defeat,
And my lips, for a kiss brings such
Torment, the ghost of love too sweet
A memory and fateful foe,
That of which I cannot erase
From my weary mind, endless woe
Spinning inside a hollow case.
What I though was innocent love
Is now a void, my heart is bound.
I ask, when will the time of
Painless and peaceful love be found?
