This is my first photo with BUB next our last photo together.

On the morning of Sunday, December 1st 2019 we lost the purest, kindest and most magical living force on our planet. BUB was cheerful and full of love laying in our bed with us Saturday night, but unexpectedly passed away peacefully in her sleep.. I have always been fully transparent about BUB’s health, and it was no secret that she was battling a persistent and aggressive bone infection.  Even knowing this, we weren’t expecting her to pass so soon or so abruptly without warning.  I truly believe that she willingly made the decision to leave her failing body so that our family would not have to make that difficult decision ourselves. 

It is impossible to put into words the profound effect that BUB has had on my life, on the lives of thousands of homeless pets, and on the lives of those of you that have cared for her as if she were your own family. She taught me everything that I know about unconditional love, she brought my wife Stacy and I together, she’s the reason we have our beautiful children Rosco and Lula, and she has been a constant source of warmth and love in our lives for the past 8 years. To say that our family is devastated would be an understatement. But most importantly, BUB has made a huge difference in the world of animal welfare, and in the lives of millions of people worldwide. She has literally saved thousands of lives (both pets and humans), she started the first national fund for special needs pets, she was the subject of groundbreaking genetic and biological  research, she’s helped raise over $700,000 for animals in need, and has spread a message of determination, positivity, and perseverance to people all over the world. And even though my heart is absolutely crushed by her graceful departure from planet Earth,  I know that her sprit, magic, and overwhelming energy are still with us, reminding us every day to be better.

Dearest BUB, I will never forget your generosity, your limitless supply of love, or your uncanny ability to bring so much magic and joy to the world. I am forever honored and humbled that you chose me as your caretaker. Please visit all of us in our dreams often. GOOD JOB BUB.

This is also happening to the other communities to. I know the Coptic Christian in my hometown are having trouble staying in touch with there home community in Cairo and have had to determine whether to contact them or not for fear it might be used against them. regardless of you opinions/orientation this should not be happening. M I S C H I E F . M A N A G E D  Quigley Coffman . June 2011 - January 28 2018

My heart is so heavy. No matter the length of time they spend in our lives, the life of a beloved pet will always be too short. Quigley entered our lives without much warning, and stole our hearts the moment we took him home and he stole the straw from my cup in our car. I never expected such a tiny creature to mean so much to me, but Quigley was my whole world and more.

I knew the numbers. I knew that small span of years that books and veterinarians told us he was likely to have. It’s part of the reason I named this account The Book Ferret. I wanted an excuse to show the world this incredible little heart-thief. I knew his life would be too short, and I wanted to document as many moments as possible. And I knew too, that as of last summer, Quigley was sick, and he likely wouldn’t get better. Knowing doesn’t make it any easier.

Diggle and I were with him. There was nothing more we could do except snuggle with him and tell him how much we loved him. I told him how much all of you loved him, too. I know, thanks to this account, and all of the photos he worked hard to be a part of, that he has helped so many of you understand what beautiful, funny, curious creatures ferrets are. He was even the inspiration for a character in a book! (Thank you forever for that, @andshewaits!) I still have photos I haven’t posted of him, and hope you won’t mind seeing his sweet face for awhile yet. He worked hard to be a part of my photos, and I would love to share them with you still.

He will always be my first ferret, the original Book Ferret, and my sweet baby boy. He won’t ever realize how many lives he touched or the difference he made in so many people’s lives, but it means the world to me that he will be remembered and loved not only by his family, but by so many others, too.

Peru Earthquake

Unfortunately an earthquake of 7.1 magnitude hit southern Peru  early Sunday Morning. This has created several casualties and one currently reported dead. All thoughts and prayers with the Peruvian people. If you can help in anyway you can please do.

I want everyone to keep southern California in their thoughts. People are being swept away and trapped in mud. Babies have been found in said mud. One woman had been trapped for six hours before getting rescued. Gas lines have ruptured in some places, setting homes on fire. At least 13 or more dead. This is all happening because of winter storm hunter. The tail end is bringing rain to the southern states. The land in southern California had been ravaged by the Thomas fire mere weeks ago, making this disaster so much worse with debris. Anything and everything is being pulled by the mud slides. Twigs, branches, trees, power lines, and even boulders. It isn’t just California that is being affected by this storm badly. Las Vegas is experiencing some pretty bad flooding. I want you all to put your political opinions of the people in these areas aside and see that they are suffering and help them if you can. I also want you to prepare for this system for when it comes to your state. Keep an eye on your weather app. My town is supposed to get around 8 inches supposedly. If it gets bad, stay off the roads. Stock up on anything you could need if you can’t leave. Get a box of matches and some candles in case the power gets knocked out. I don’t know if this is going to be as bad as winter storm greyson (was that the name?) But don’t take your chances in underestimating mother nature. Basically, I want you, the reader, to keep safe and hope that the situation in California and Nevada gets better and that nobody else has to die because of it.

Hi just heard it on my local news but a 7.6 earthquake off the coast of Mexico occurred. I know those in the affected are hearing the alert sirens but for those not there just know keep them in prayer and if it happens help them anyway you can.

Open letter to YouTube.

YouTube. For all the years of entertainment you’ve made possible, and all the opportunities you’ve presented to so many people, I’m grateful. You’ve provided so much for so many, creators and consumers alike. I owe my job, and in a broad sense my general life to your platform. It takes a LOT to tear down that sort of built up trust. But you’ve managed to do it.

The constant changes to “the algorithm”, fair enough. The “sudden random bugs” that didn’t send out content to all the subscribers. Fine. Even when you, for some godforsaken reason decided that “Subscribe” was no longer enough, but you felt the need to add a bell, and yet a secondary step to go from “most content” to “all content”. Whatever. One would think a chronological feed of whatever recent post has been made by a channel would suffice. But you’re not alone in being guilty of this, every social network is doing it, why not you too. When the “adpocalypse” hit, and so many channels suffered, some even being unable to sustain, still most seemed to rally and say it’s not YouTube’s fault, YouTube is not the bad guy, there are only some bad creators, bad users. They’re doing their best.

I’m no longer convinced of this. When your system automatically flags the majority of content uploaded as “non-advertiser friendly” without having a clue what the video actually is. When you offer no way whatsoever, of whitelisting a channel with good track record. When you manipulate feeds and recommended videos, and prioritize content that will make you money, over content that actually appeals to the user. When you’re SO clearly granting preferential treatement to those who can “make you look good” rather than being good. When a “top tier” creator on your platform can make a multimilliondollar-living out of being as disrespectful and morally despicable as (sometimes) legally possible. When a “top tier” creator on your platform can broadcast a victim of suicide to millions of underage people… and you do nothing.

Not a single action has been taken, the best you could do was to claim your “hearts went out to the family”. Why not add in “one like equals one prayer” and “every retweet saves a child” while you’re at it. You don’t care, this much is clear. You don’t care, as long as you’re making money. You are a business, I know, but you CAN do both. You so badly want to be TV, that you never stopped to consider why so many people have almost stopped watching TV all together, in favour of you. Count your blessings, that you have no competition, I for one would jump ship in a heartbeat. If I’m wrong, tell me. Tell us, something. Anything. Ever.
