[...] You are one of many young ladies sent to court to face your debut into polite society â to be introduced to all the bachelors of London in order to find a proper husband and live a proper life.
But you need no introduction, for better or worse, as every single person in court has heard of you; you are the infamous âWitch of Griffith Manorâ, rumoured to be the downfall of your family, the cause of death and despair. A pariah by birth.Â
You suspect youâve been sent to court to simply be the entertainment, as no one expects you to truly fit in. And nor do you, to be quite honest.
Youâre a laughing stock, a humorous wallflower to the lot of them. Youâre determined to shape your own future and find a way to leave your family and reputation behind. Fortunately for you, youâre not the only pariah in the midst.
The Witch of Griffith Manor is an 18+ text-based interactive fiction game that contains elements of the historical romance / gothic genres. The story features:
A customisable female main character; the player will determine her name, personality, abilities and physical appearance.
Three romance options, each with their own romance trope, which you can pursue or antagonise (or both).
Life at court â which, given the premise of the story, wonât be exactly idyllic, but the player will be able to either attempt to restore their reputation or make it even worse than initially established!
Multiple endings, depending on the mc's abilities, actions in court and romance pursued. Dominate polite society or leave it altogether. The choice is yours.
The demo will be published around may 15th 2024, and will include the entire prologue, in which the player will be able to fully customise the main character and be introduced to the world of the story.
Archibald Archambeau (M), 26 years old, âReforming the rake.â
Youâve never met him, but have heard of him; heâs the tenth child of King George, albeit the only illegitimate one. Archibald Archambeau, alternatively titled âthe half princeâ, is rumoured to be cause of numerous scandals in London and to have caused the fall of many a young lady. Though he is, despite his bastard status, a very valuable bachelor, most of polite society will advice their own daughters against engaging with him.
Physical description: Tall, with long, curly blonde hair, black eyes and an androgynous figure. The king of fashion excess.
Florence Hawthorne (F), 20 years old, âEnemies to lovers.â
Youâve attended a private school with her; once, Florence Hawthorne was the favoured among all of the young ladies you knew at the time, extremely talented in many arts and languages, and rumoured to be the most eligible candidate for the royal first born and heir to the Empire. And yet, from what youâve heard as of recently, the young baroness has been considered disgraced, âtaintedâ â though youâve yet to hear the whole story â and no longer holds the reputation required to look down on you as she once did.
Physical description: Medium in height, with long, silky black hair, green eyes and a feminine figure. The queen of elegance at its finest.
Nadir Anwar (M), 28 years old, âForbidden romance.â
Youâd never heard of him before your arrival in London; Nadir Anwar, ambassador to the Khedivate of Egypt and the viceroyâs son, has been at court for a while now. Youâve also heard that his position and permanence in England may be the result of a punishment â for what, no one seems to be certain. The court repeatedly hounds him for marriage proposals, though you suspect it may be to gain more status and political advantage with the royal family. Not that it matters, for it seems every proposal coming his way faces a brutal rejection.
Physical description: Tall, with short, ruffled dark brown hair, grey eyes and a masculine figure. Dresses as modestly as his position allows him.
Following popular theories Thomas is a well known and respected doctor/surgeon. He often helps the lower classes by offering free stitches or check ups. Martha was a famous actress/model and loved the benefits of her husband helping everyone (aka never getting harassed).
Bruce is still bruce so he still dropped out of med school and focused on expanding well fare program to help the people of gotham. He still adopts all his kids but deals with all their shit like a normal parent would. But his parents reactions to his children achieving more academically than him is the funniest shit
For example
Martha: oh Stephanie i heared youâre all set to get your M.D.
Steph: yes i am finally all the hard work paid off
Martha: at least you saw it through unlike other with more privilege. You should ask Thomas about working with him.
Bruce: I donât like blood đ«€
Or
Jason: so Grandma and Grandpa will you make it to my graduation ceremony for my Phd in philosophy?
Thomas: Of course, another Wayne with a doctorate we wouldnât miss it for the world
Martha: donât worry weâll stop your dad from getting matching shirt with your face on them, jaybird
Bruce: *on the computer created the shirts*
And bruce isnât even mad at the pettiness of his parents because his children are all accomplishing greatness by following their passion. Plus, he knows his parents are just kidding and glad he followed what made him happy even if it was becoming a single dad at 21.
If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.
The first image is a prompt I posted on my prompt blog LAST YEAR.
The second image is from an application called c.ai. On MY post, a viewer commented, telling people that thereâs a character with this very dialogue.
Mind you, NO ONE ASKED ME FOR PERMISSION. Though it wasnât stolen word for word, this is very obviously taken from my prompt which I took the time to write and publish. This is MY writing, and though I share it publicly, that does not give anyone the right to make money off of it. I did NOT CONSENT TO MY PROMPT BEING USED IN AI.
I honestly am not even sure what action to take but please please please bring attention to this and reblog. We need to end AI and the act of stealing artistsâ work. I canât believe this.

I feel like I should make a post about this because itâs not something thatâs very well-known, and that Americans in particular may need to know about given the uncertain state of our healthcare system at the moment. Iâve wanted to write this out for a while, Itâs kind of a long post, so sorry about that!
If you have an emergency and have to go to the hospital, youâll owe the hospital a lot of money.
(I got into a car wreck and broke my ankle and my arm. My hospital bill was around $20,000)
Youâll also owe the ambulance provider, if you need one.
(My ambulance bill was about $800)
You may get separate bills from the anesthesiologist or surgeon.
(My anesthesiologist bill was $1,700)
You may need follow-up appointments.
(My orthopedic surgeon billed me for the appointments and his surgery together and it was about $1,000)
Youâve also got to pay for medical equipment you need afterward, like crutches or a walking boot.
(Mine cost about $75)
Altogether, I ended up with almost $24,000 in medical debt from one car accident. Thatâs a really scary number for someone like me who makes $10/hr at a 12 hour a week job.
I got my debt down to $1075 by making some phone calls and submitting some paperwork.
The first thing I did was contact the hospital. They donât make it easy to find, but many hospitals (perhaps most hospitals?) have financial assistance programs for people who canât afford medical bills. I donât make a lot of money, and I have bills to pay, so they were able to help me.
I called the billing department and asked if they had any assistance programs for low income people who canât pay their bills. I had to call multiple times, and I got transferred in circles by people who didnât know what I was talking about. Finally, I got an appointment with someone in âEligibility Servicesâ (I donât know what other hospitals call it, if itâs something different). I had to bring my pay stubs and copies of all of my bills. When I got to the hospital for the appointment, nobody knew what I was talking about so I had to wander a little to find where I needed to go. I spoke with the guy in Eligibility Services, and I waited for a decision on how much of the bill they would forgive. A month later, I got a call telling me it was totally forgiven.
I did the same thing for my ambulance bill and my anesthesiologist, but the process was a LOT easier. I just had to mail some paperwork and it was totally forgiven.
I didnât bother with the medical equipment suppliers, since the bills came from separate companies and I didnât feel like going through the process twice for $75. I was assured at the hospital that they had similar programs for debt forgiveness, so I could have probably avoided paying that too.
The only thing I couldnât get taken care of was the surgeon/follow-up appointment cost, but they were able to put me on a no-interest payment plan.
Medical debt is scary because itâs something that can come from stuff thatâs already really scary. I didnât need the burden of $24,000 in debt on top of trying to get around on a crutch with a broken arm (itâs not easy, believe me!).. but I canât imagine what it would be like with a bigger debt or a more severe medical emergency.
I see lots of people in even worse trouble than I was in, both financially and medically. Please know that there are options for you when that GoFundMe doesnât do enough. Even if your income is higher than mine, itâs worth a shot even for partial debt forgiveness.
