I am so very, VERY excited to be publishing my first Tolkien fanfiction ever! :D That is, my first Tolkien fanfic to be shared...not the first one I ever wrote...you get the idea XD

It's been a labor of love, and I'm so happy to share it. First chapter is very angsty, the other two are angsty but have some hurt/comfort to go along with them. (Chapters 2 and 3 coming in the next couple days.)

So earlier today I randomly thought of the phrase "I didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose me." To which I IMMEDIATELY had the mental response of "The Way boys might say otherwise." And then this popped into my head:

"Nah, I chose the thug life," Riser said lightly with a smirk. "I married her fair an' square. Kissed her on the lips and said she's mine, and I never looked back."

@starspray (@-ing you bc I don't know if it'll notify you that I reblogged this) I don't know you all that well, but I think I'd put you either tucked into bed or in a café/bakery where everything smells fresh. I just get vibes from you that those would be places you would enjoy. You deserve to sleep in a wonderful warm bed with a lovely fluffy comforter all nice and cozy, and you deserve to sit in a café or bakery where you can get any fresh pastry or treat you want. So at the time, the last song I listened to was What A Feeling by One Direction (sometimes I just get in the mood for their songs XD), but as of right now, the last song I listened to was The Treasure Quest by Peter Crowley. (That may or may not have been partially inspired by your last song. I got in the mood for instrumental pirate music...)

currently watching: Longmire—that is, rewatching the last half of season 2 & part of season 3. I have finally finished the show (I started it partway through and then had to go back and watch the episodes I hadn't seen yet), so I'm now caught up, but I'm rewatching a few episodes to wrap up the current storyline.

It is Easter Sunday.

She hangs back as the others walk. She wants to help, wants to do whatever she can for the Lord, and yet—and yet—

It is Easter Sunday, and she does not yet know what she will see. She weeps, and does not try to hide it. They thought he was the Lord, the Messiah—the Christos, as they might say in Greek. But three days ago they saw him hung on a cross, still thinking about them.

She wonders who will move the stone; she does not know it is already rolled away. She thinks of the spices she does not know will be unnecessary. She weeps again.

Instead of Roman soldiers, the little group of women see a stone, rolled away, and an angel sitting on it. She does not know what to think.

It is Easter Sunday, and the angel tells them that the Lord is risen. The angel tells women, who will not be believed, and she cannot believe him because it cannot be true.

But it is Easter Sunday. She sees a gardener as she remains to weep.

"Woman, why do you weep?" he says, and she tries to explain, and then he says:

"Mary!"

And the dawn is shining so vividly after the grief of the long night.

good friday was the worst thing that ever happened to Jesus but we still call it good friday because God's glorious plan was showcased because of it

If you're following this blog (especially if it's because of the meme I made about November 16th last year), I highly recommend following my sideblog @fandomsandfairytales because I post MUCH more frequently on there than I do here, and it's basically all fandom-related.

The fandoms I post about are included but not limited to Tolkien (especially The Silmarillion), Percy Jackson, Doctor Who, Inkheart, Once Upon A Time, Six of Crows/Shadow & Bone, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I'll also sometimes post/reblog posts about Sons of the Star, Annaáuchiwee, Daughters of Therindë, or other fanfiction because I'm obsessed and it's super fun getting to be in what are essentially mini-fandoms for fanfiction.
