I’m not quite sure what anon is exactly referring to here but I think I have an idea.

Now in terms of beetles being related to Aphrodite I can’t find any sources. If you were to Google ‘greek god associated with beetles’ it would come up saying Aphrodite but this is for a website called aboutmybrain that cites zero sources. There’s also a book called ‘The Aphrodite beetle and other medical mysteries’ but this isn’t a mythology book it’s a book recounting twelve instance of doctors searching for infectious diseases. The only other thing is a Reddit post of someone asking if the beetles suddenly overrunning there house are a curse from Aphrodite.

So I’m pretty sure Anon likely just googled which Greek god was associated with beetles and saw Aphrodite and took it at face value.

If you really wanna stretch it you could say that since beetles in Ancient Greece often represented the metamorphosis of a musician and since Aphrodite is often associated with the arts, then maybe you could pull a connection from there, but it would be very very frayed and weak.

So despite how adorable that sounds I’m afraid it’s not correct from all the information I can find. Though I do think Ares would learn a whole hobby just to support and bond with Aphrodite.

We as a society too quickly look over the fact beetles are an animal of Aphrodite. Hence why from now on I am going to be starting a ‘Ares collects, studies and pins beetles solely because he knows Aphrodite likes them and so took it up as a hobby so they can bond over’ agenda.

I know nothing about Aphrodite's association with beetles. I don't doubt there are texts about it, I just haven't found it yet.
