What's your painting process? also, what would you say are your major influences?

Hello! Thanks a lot for asking (and apologies for the late response, bit hard to see notifs) More often than not I improvise with designs but there's always an idea I have in mind so starting from there I experiment with shapes and try to figure a way to make it more 'surreal' rather than a literal approach! It can take me so long to get a design I really enjoy but I'd say it's worth it in the end

It'd be a looong list if I had to talk about every huge inspiration but amongst main ones are Tezuka, Yoshitaka Amano, Ghibli films, Pokemon, Digimon, Katsuhiro Ôtomo, Tobias Cornwall, Toriyama and Mœbius' works! Funny enough a lot of old flash games, gems and biology books also took part in my passion for creature design

Minewolf 🐺 🦗🧨 (Novacanis Liquidus Detonare) or Xittocoyotl "Large insectoid canines with a sharp explosion-proof exoskeleton. They carry and produce a blue liquid in their body akin to nitroglycerine which they eject to defend and attack. Whilst solitary they can group together like a wolf pack and excel at hunting.

Thanks to their unmatched sense of smell they’re able to detect hazards early, the odor of mines and other explosives even if in different states of matter, becoming incredibly useful to demine fields after undergoing training and domestication. This species can be avoidant of humans however but once trust is gained they may become loyal companions."

Syringe/Surgeon Spider (Venenum Kheirourgeon)💉🩸🕷️

"The surgeon spider has the ability to secrete a red poisonous substance from its syringe or stinger and is malleable enough to turn into strings with the help of its needle-like limbs (similar to how a regular spider would fabricate a web in order to catch prey). Interestingly enough this poison can be used in the medical field to lessen pain and various symptoms, it all depends on the dose. This creature has been observed to sew up its own wounds with these very strings (hence the name) and thanks to its intelligence and docile nature toward people has since been successfully trained into assisting others with surgeons." Surprise adopt/Commission for AtomicGator ! I loved to design this one!

LIONROSE 🌹💐 (Leophantasma Floralis) or Xóchimiztli

"An unusual parasitism between a flower and a lion that evolved into an undead-like species. The Lionrose displays a beautiful mane akin to dahlia petals varying in color but in usual red whereas the rest of the body has a more ghostly appearance and properties. The cubs resemble rose buds and once they ‘bloom’ the skull becomes visible. Unlike their lion counterparts they don't show any sexual dimorphism and if anything have a more hermaphroditic approach like flowers. They are known to be able to phase through objects and some rumors even suggest other realms, adding to their mythicism.

They are astute hunters and usually live in small groups. Instead of relying on photosynthesis this parasitic species steals nutrients from other plants and living beings employing their root-like tendrils. Their beauty and ferocity has made them known and valuable across the land, for many folk wish to acquire their petals even if it is a deadly task."

BIRDCAGE (Avis Caveam)🕊️🗝️

"Gigantic bird-like beings that stand out for their bizarre appearance and hunting method. They capture prey with their malleable rib cage bodies akin to trapping something within a birdcage (hence the name) and later start pecking through the gaps to feed. The ribs can also extend to grasp larger beings and their seemingly hollow thin bodies allow for a silent flight, making them a threat to even humans. To complement the name the tip of the tail resembles a key.

Despite their vicious hunting nature younglings can imprint or be tamed as they grow"🗝

Doorlock (Aranicero Imagoplanus)🕷️💮 "Doorlocks (also known as Stampers) are similar in appearance to the trap door spiders and resemble some kind of canine in mannerisms. They can be docile around humans and make for excellent pets and companions (albeit a strange choice in the eyes of many). They are intelligent creatures capable of recognizing faces, symbols and objects and usually live and hunt alone. Surprisingly, they can memorize and mimic human hand signs as well. The claws as well as the hand-like sting serve to liquify smaller beings and absorb their nutrients and yet their main source of food comes from scavenging"
