You mention charlie and elizabeth used to be close as kids... Did charlie ever remembered her and if she did how did she feel about what elizabeth had done (ahem fake charlie ahem)
she did remember her! not immediately but yes.
part of her was obviously very angry and upset with elisabeth and everything she did to her and her friends (+ what she did to her aunt), and for “blindly” following her dad and doing his bidding. but the other part of her understood that elisabeth was being gaslit and manipulated into doing everything she did. she tried to defend her when clay told her they would look for her and hopefully arrest her, but she also saw why her friends hated el and wouldn’t be willing to understand what elisabeth had told her before she ran away.
so at the very end, yes, charlie has to make a hard decision (letting elisabeth burn in the labyrinth), but she also sees this as what will finally break elisabeth free. too bad el didn’t see it that way.
i'm very curious about your au! when does it take place? are most events lore-novel accurate? do the characters personalities and dynamics change a lot? also, the elizabeth and john ship is definitely something new i kinda like it :), sorry if it's a lot of questions haha
thank uu!! i don’t mind the questions at all!
it really depends on what part of the au you’re asking about because in general, it takes place from the late 70s — mid 2000s.
michael, elisabeth and charlie are my main characters so i focus mostly around them (especially elisabeth because she’s my favorite).
i don’t really take much if not anything from the novels apart from the TSE trilogy (which takes place in the late 90s in my au) though most of the actual events from the trilogy itself go as they are. the majority of the other events in my au are not really “lore accurate”, mostly because i did take a lot of creative liberties in a lot of stuff especially when it came to the dynamics between characters (like charlie and elisabeth or william and elisabeth). one of the mayor changes from the novels is that elisabeth is not a charliebot variant and holds none of charlie’s memories, she’s straight up just acting.
if i really do think about it, some of the characters and dynamics do have some considerable changes (not all of them but still), especially characters like john because in my au he’s almost a completely different person than how he is in the actual novels. william and charlie also have some slight yet considerable personality changes (william is still a bad person!!! i js made him a little bit more goofy). other major differences are their designs since in my au most of them don’t look like their canon counterparts.
but yeah!! i think i answered pretty much everything :D
