KAEYA ALBERICH
kaeya was not one for quiet nights.
he much preferred the white noise and chatter of the tavern to his own lodgings. even after he began seeing you, spending nights with you at his side on a barstool remained his favorite activity. he loved to watch your easy confidence as you chatted with jean or charles, or even diluc for that matter. he just enjoyed listening to your lovely voice over the background conversation of the other patrons.
but there were some nights when kaeya wished he had elected to stay home.
there was a new bartender working tonight. kaeya had seen him a few times, and charles didn't seem particularly bothered by him despite the subpar drinks he made, but kaeya couldn't help his inherent distrust of any newcomer. it always took him a bit of time to get used to an unfamiliar face settling in mondstadt as a permanent resident, and from what kaeya had heard, this one had made his intention to stay in the city for the foreseeable future very clear.
the night, while young, was already wearing him thin. he'd just gotten back from a days-long commission that jean had requested he take on personally. it had been a grueling week, and the only thing he wanted to do when he returned was take you to the angel's share for a few drinks, then take you to bed.
you never elected to drink very much when you accompanied kaeya to the tavern. you'd usually nurse a glass or two of wine, and oftentimes you'd leave without finishing a third.
tonight, you had barely started sipping your second glass when you began looking fairly ill. at the moment, you were slumped against kaeya's shoulder, struggling to keep your eyes open or form a coherent sentence.
"darling?" kaeya asked when your strength seemingly left you. you went limp, and had you not already been leaning on his shoulder, you probably would have fallen off of the barestool. kaeya caught you with an arm around your waist and another holding your shoulder. you muttered something unintelligible and groaned when kaeya shifted so he could look at you. he lifted your face, and gave your cheek a light tap when your eyes began to flutter shut. "can you open your eyes, love?"
"'m tired," you mumbled. kaeya furrowed his brow; he was certain you'd only had one drink since you'd arrived.
he caught charles' concerned gaze from across the bar, but before either of them could speak, the newcomer was stepping forward nervously.
"i can take them to the back," he said to kaeya, eyeing you briefly, "there's a couch."
kaeya raised a brow at the suggestion. from the corner of his eye, he saw charles wince.
"i'll take them," kaeya corrected firmly, scrutinizing the man further when he saw disappointment flicker across his expression.
"r-right. of course. it's just back–"
"i know where it is," kaeya snapped, abruptly standing from his chair and sliding his arms under your pliant body. concern was thrumming through him, and he immediately forgot about the bartender shuffling behind him when you shifted and let out another string of mutters.
"talk to me, love," he muttered as you peeled your eyes open, "how are you feeling?"
"bad," you grumbled. kaeya hummed, pursing his lips and walking as steadily as he could manage.
"was it something you ate?"
"dunno," you said, already fading again. kaeya cursed when your eyes fell shut and you went limp, head resting against his chest and arm hanging uselessly to your side.
kaeya laid you on the couch in the back room that charles had set up for employees. you didn't stir as his arms left you, though he saw your brow furrow when he let you go. he elected to take one of your hands in his as he thought through the events of the night to try and pin down the cause of your mysterious illness.
it was then he realized that the new bartender had followed him all the way down the hall and was waiting nervously in the doorway. he shifted uncomfortably under kaeya's sharp gaze.
"what are you still doing here?"
"i...i apologize, i just wanted to make sure everything was alright–"
"while your concern is very touching," kaeya sneered, suspicion growing each time the man's eyes left his and strayed to where you were laying behind him. kaeya shifted so that your face wasn't in the man's view, "i can handle things."
kaeya saw a touch of annoyance cross the man's features, and the alarm bells already ringing in his head became more frantic.
"unless," kaeya rumbled as he stood, reluctantly dropping your hand so that he could approach the man, "you know something about this."
"oh! uh...no, i'm not sure what happened. i just noticed that they looked rather sick."
kaeya hummed, scrutinizing the man for a moment longer before nodding his head towards the door behind him.
"you can go, then," he said with finality.
"right," the man nodded, eyes wide as he took in kaeya intimidating aura, "o-of course."
kaeya didn't watch the newcomer scurry away. instead, he turned back to where you were beginning to rouse again. he heard a string of words escape you, only catching his own name every few seconds until he was kneeling next to you, one hand reaching to find your own as the other cupped your cheek.
"kaeya," you huffed, breathing sporadic and so panicked that it made kaeya's chest ache, "what's happ'ning?"
"i don't know, darling," kaeya told you truthfully. you groaned, bringing a hand to shield your eyes from the light in the room and turning on your side, pressing your face into the pillows. "i'm sorry. we'll get you feeling better soon, alright?"
"that wine," you mumbled, voice muffled by the pillow and barely audible over the distant chatter of the tavern, "it was...really strong."
that gave kaeya pause. he distinctly remembered the new bartender pouring your wine, then turning towards the opposite counter where kaeya couldn't see what he was doing.
he couldn't imagine that anyone would...
"charles!" he shouted as soon as he puts the pieces together, rage clouding his mind as he thought back to the suspicious behavior, the attempts to stay in the room with you, and kaeya's own gut feeling that something was off about the newcomer.
the only thing that kept him from going back to the bar and wringing the man's neck was your hand holding his. he couldn't leave you alone now—not with that criminal still roaming god-knows-where.
"don' leave," you muttered, making a desperate attempt to sit up and grab onto kaeya's arm. he shook his head, placing careful hands on your shoulders and guiding you onto your back. you were looking up at him with bloodshot eyes, and the fear in them made his chest ache.
"i'm not," he shook his head, taking your hand in both of his and giving it a reassuring squeeze, "don't worry, love. i'm not leaving."
kaeya's chest tightened when your breath hitched, a silent sob rocking your chest. you were terrified—that much was strikingly clear. your eyes were scrunched shut, and if your pained expression was anything to go by, you had a raging headache brought on by whatever it was that you had drank.
kaeya couldn't watch for much longer before he was lifting you up and replacing you on the couch, then setting you down with your head on his lap. you pressed closer to him, head resting on his thigh and fingers gripping his jacket.
"what happened?"
kaeya stiffened at diluc's familiar voice. he looked down at you and focused on the rise and fall of your chest to keep himself from getting too upset over his brother's untimely arrival.
"that new bartender," kaeya grumbled, "he made their drink tonight. i think they mixed it with something."
there was a silence, and kaeya finally chanced a glance at diluc. he was watching you with a furrowed brow, hands clenched into fists and jaw grinding back and forth in the only show of anger that kaeya could see.
"is the drink still at the bar?"
"it should be."
"i'll take it to timeus on my way to the knight's headquarters."
kaeya looked up in surprise, but diluc looked away, very intentionally avoiding his eyes.
"i'll take the bartender to jean. i trust she can keep him in check in a far more legal manner than i would."
diluc breathed in deeply, closing his eyes for a moment. when he opened them again, he looked far more intense than before, and he looked at kaeya with a seriousness that was rarely shared between the two.
"it's my responsibility to know who is being hired at my establishments. i apologize for being so negligent."
kaeya blinked, opening his mouth to reassure him that the only one at fault was the scum who did this, but diluc held a hand up to stop him.
"just make sure they're taken care of," diluc said, glancing down at you once more with a furrowed brow that almost made him look worried, "i'll handle the rest."
kaeya gave a single nod, knowing that any gratitude could go unsaid. he also knew that this sudden show of kindness was less for him and more for you—diluc had always been fond of you, claiming that you made kaeya more pleasant to be around.
while the comment had irked him when it was made, he couldn't exactly disagree.
"'m sorry," you groaned when diluc was gone, sniffling and trying desperately to keep your tears at bay. kaeya's expression twisted, his hand stilling where it had been rubbing soothing circles on your arm.
"sorry?" he repeated, "love, what could you possible have to be sorry for?"
"for inconveniencing diliuc," you huffed, "and making you worry."
kaeya sighed, shaking his head at the guilty look on your face and cupping your face in his hands.
"we just want to make sure you're okay," he whispered, lifting your hand and pressing his lips to your fingers, "none of this is your fault, my love."
you grumbled something that sounded like a disagreement, but let the argument go when your headache returned.
"am i gonna be okay?" you croaked, eyes filling with panic as you thought about the possibilities of what could've been put in your drink. sure, you'd heard about people's drinks getting tampered with before, but it could've been something more deadly. maybe this was a murder attempt to get at kaeya. maybe you had unintentionally made someone so angry that they'd hired this bartender to kill you. maybe–
"you're going to be just fine," kaeya assured you, hands cupping your face so that you were forced to look at him, "it's nothing to worry about. i've seen this happen a few times. you'll just wake up with a nasty headache, but i'll take care of you, yeah?"
"yeah," you agreed, feeling any energy you'd been using to panic seep from you as you sank into kaeya's arms.
as kaeya carried you home later that night, he thought about all of the things that he could do to make that bartender's life a living hell. the ideas he came up with brought him some satisfaction, and he found that he was more excited than he had been in a long time to get to work the next day.

ZHONGLI
zhongli had been alive for many, many years. enough years that he had seen the cruelties that others were capable of. he understood that preventative measures were necessary to keep oneself safe, but he was also painfully aware that those protections were not always enough. those with bad intentions usually found a way around any safeguards no matter how carefully they were designed.
in you, he saw a very careful person. you were well aware of the dangers of the world—though perhaps not to the extent of someone who had fought in wars and survived to tell the tales. you were, however, cautious enough that he knew you were a very capable person.
but despite his experience, this was a first.
you weren't one to drink yourself into a state of incapacitation, so zhongli couldn't deny his growing concern as you stumbled towards him, eyes lidded and legs shaky. you stumbled towards him, struggling to keep yourself from falling with each step. he met you before you could fall, accepting your outstretched arms and pulling you into his chest.
the first thing he noticed upon catching you was that you were shaking. he tried to move away so that he could look at you, but your grip was firm. you were holding him so tightly, like you were afraid of letting him go and facing whatever had frightened you so much.
"y/n?" he asked softly, resting a hand on the small of your back just under your shirt and rubbing soothing circles over your skin. he felt some of the tension loosen from your shoulders and hugged you closer, "darling, what happened?"
the answer appeared behind him before you could even attempt to answer. he felt a tap on shoulder, impatient and insistent. zhongli turned carefully, making sure to keep you steady as he faced the interruption with equal levels of impatience.
"yes?"
"ah, this is a bit awkward," the man chuckled, attention not on zhongli, but rather on you huddled in his arms. zhongli's eyes narrowed on the stranger, and he pulled you tighter against his chest, keeping your face pressed into his clothes to keep it out of the man's sight.
"do tell me what you find so awkward about the situation," zhongli said darkly, "or better yet, tell me why you're even speaking to me in the first place."
the man gulped, finally looking up and meeting zhongli's glare. it must have been the first time he really registered the person holding you, because his eyes widened a fraction and he began spitting out excuse after excuse, each sounding more desperate than the last.
"y'see, my friend has had a few too many drinks tonight. i apologize that they stumbled into you like that–"
"your friend," zhongli huffed, an irritated laugh bubbling in his throat, "ah, well, it's a good thing you've come to their rescue, then."
the man, who zhongli now knew was denser than stone, grinned at this and began reaching towards you eagerly.
"may i ask you what their name is?"
this made him pause.
"well...i don't think they'd appreciate me giving that information out to a stranger-"
"oh, of course," zhongli nodded, "how noble of you."
"right," the man gave him an odd look, but continued reaching towards you, "if you could just–"
if there was one thing that zhongli appreciate about his human form, it was its agility.
he swept you to the side, keeping one arm firmly around your waist while the other grabbed hold of the man's wrist. he only got a glimpse of the stranger's wide, terrified eyes before he twisted the his arm just shy of breaking. the man let out quick, panicked huffs as he looked between zhongli's hard expression and the hand gripping his wrist.
"a-alright, i get it," the man gulped, making a feeble attempt to pull away, "i'll go–ow, i'm sorry! i didn't know–"
"didn't know what?" zhongli asked venomously, false smiles and politeness wiped from his expression. his harsh tone made the man visibly shudder, "that it's not acceptable to try to kidnap people? what made you so ignorant that you couldn't comprehend that that is a crime?"
"i wasn't...listen, i'm sorry, okay? i won't do it again, just let me go. please."
zhongli was very close to breaking the man's wrist, eyes nearly glowing as they narrowed on the man's terrified eyes. however, he paused when you shifted, coughing weakly into his chest.
"zhongli," you croaked, "i think he did something to my drink."
zhongli's fingers tightened around the man's wrist, earning a terrified squeak from him as he tried to pull back in one last, desperate attempt to get away.
"well?" he asked the terrified man sharply, "did you?"
"o-of course i didn't! i just...i didn't know you were together, alright? i just saw that they looked ill, and thought i'd help–"
"your help is neither wanted nor needed," zhongli said with a sharp smile that made the man's face go white. zhongli knew he could be more than menacing at the right times, "xiao."
the adeptus appeared at his side immediately, making the already nervous man jump in fear. the man watched with wide-eyes as xiao approached zhongli. xiao payed no mind to the man trembling in zhongli's grip. he did, however, take note of your barely-conscious body slumped against zhongli. you were staring blankly at something behind xiao, and the adeptus tried to keep himself calm for your sake.
"please watch him until i return."
xiao gave a single nod, gripping the man's shirt and dragging him to a more secluded area of the market. zhongli wrapped his arm further around your waist, pulling you in close before he disappeared from the streets of the harbor.
baizhu did not looked particularly alarmed when zhongli appeared in the middle of the pharmacy, though his eyes widened just slightly when he spotted you in the ex-god's arms.
"come with me," baizhu ordered immediately, turning and moving further into the pharmacy. he entered a room with zhongli at his heels and pointed towards a long table, "put them there."
zhongli did as he was told, brow furrowed in clear concern as he brushed a hand over your cheek. you seemed to be conscious, but barely lucid as you leaned into zhongli's palm.
"what happened," baizhu asked, leaning over you and opening one of your eyes wider to look at your pupil.
"i believe they were given some kind of drug. i don't know what."
"that would explain these symptoms," baizhu murmured, placing a hand on your chest and closing his eyes. his palm began to glow a bright green, and zhongli watched as changsheng slid down the doctor's arm until she was resting on your stomach. after another moment, the glow dissipated.
"i can't tell the exact substance that was used, but it's nothing deadly. they'll just need to rest. it will be out of their system by tomorrow night at the latest."
zhongli nearly collapsed as relief rushed through him. he took your hand and pressed it to his lips carefully, closing his eyes so he could focus on calming his racing heart.
"if it's not too much trouble," zhongli began as baizhu stepped back from the table, allowing changsheng to take her place upon his shoulders again, "could you look after them for a moment? i've left someone waiting."
baizhu huffed, a smirk crossing his lips at the zhongli's sugarcoated words.
"please do. rest assured, they'll be looked after here," baizhu told him slyly, waving a hand towards the door, "and don't bother bringing me any more patients when you're finished. i'm afraid i'm stretched quite thin with just the one."
as zhongli disppeared towards he harbor, baizhu almost pitied the poor man who had put you in such a state. almost.

XIAO
xiao had never enjoyed human celebrations.
he knew that they were important to you, but he just didn't have the patience for them. they always dragged on for so long. sure, he was immortal, but he still appreciated concision.
and the crowds. just thinking about trying to shove his way through a mass of humans made his skin crawl. he'd watched you do it enough times that he knew he would be content to never experience it for himself.
so he was satisfied watching you from afar. he liked seeing you enjoy yourself, even if he wasn't necessarily keen on the types of events that you chose to dedicate your time to.
however, it was neither his place nor his desire to tell you how to spend your time. while he would've been more than happy to just lay with you under the stars, he knew how much you enjoyed spending time with your friends at these little soirees.
but humans were just so fragile. he knew you wouldn't blame him for wanting to keep a watchful eye out.
it was foggy, but that did little to impede his vision as he watched over you from the balcony of wangshu inn. tonight's event had gathered a fairly large crowd to the courtyard outside of the inn, but xiao was careful to make sure he didn't lose sight of you in the depths of the crowd.
in the back of his mind, he heard zhongli's scolding voice telling him that he shouldn't hover, but he waved it away. he was not hovering. he was simply...observing. there was nothing wrong with wanting to keep an eye on humans whose intentions and judgment he didn't trust. he probably would've been here whether you decided to attend or not, just looking out to make sure no one was hurt in the crowd or bothered by some drunkard.
the fact that you were here was simply a coincidence. he was just taking advantage of it to keep an eye on you.
xiao!
the voice that intruded into his mind was panicked, begging for his attention and help. he felt the fear of the person calling him through the word alone. it sent a cold chill down his spine, and he perked up immediately, eyes still on you to make sure you hadn't somehow gotten hurt while he was momentarily distracted.
but you were fine. the call had come from somewhere a few miles from the inn where the abyss order tended to wander. very few knew to call his name in order to summon him, but this particular cry seemed far too desperate for him to ignore. he gave one last look to where you were standing at a food stall with your friends before he disappeared. it only took seconds of searching to find the source of the voice.
as he suspected, the woman was surrounded by monsters. one cryo mage, one hydro, and a handful of hilichurls were tormenting her for seemingly no reason other than their own amusement. rather than unleashing any deadly attacks, the mages released small bursts of elemental power and cackle at the frightened cry that the woman gave as she was hit with a blast of water or ice. the hilichurls seemed equally as amused, dancing around the woman in joy as they watched her grovel and beg that they leave her alone.
"xiao, help!"
she cried his name once more in the same second that he summoned his polearm, throwing it through the shield of the hydro mage with enough force that it shattered, then summoning it once again to destroy the shield of the other. with all of the monsters exposed to the wind, he flew forward and sent the point of his weapon across their throats, ending their lives quickly and painlessly. no need for any more senseless violence than that which had already occurred.
"t-thank you," the woman breathed as she watched the bodies of the monsters disappear, turning to dust as any remaining life drained from their bodies. once they were gone, xiao stepped forward to help the woman to her feet.
"how did you know to call for me?" he asked shortly, slightly annoyed that such a minor incident had called his attention away from the inn. the woman flinched, and he sighed, lowering his head, "i apologize. i just meant that not many people know to call for me anymore. i'm surprised."
"oh! well, i have a friend who told me about an adeptus who helps those in danger. they said to call for you if i ever found myself in a need of help."
xiao sighed. of course.
"this friend—what is their name?"
"it's y/n. they live near the inn, just a few miles from–"
"i know," xiao interrupted with another sigh, "and where do you live? is there somewhere you would like me to take you?"
"just the inn is fine. i'm meant to be meeting them, actually. for the party."
xiao nodded at this small relief—no more time wasted, then. he took hold of the woman's shoulder and teleported to the edge of the crowd gathered outside of the inn. she wobbled slightly at the unexpected travel, but he simply held her elbow as she righted herself while he scanned the crowd for any sign of you. without his high vantage point, it was difficult to make out anyone beyond the border of the crowd, and he scowled.
"will you be alright on your own?" he asked the woman as he let go of her elbow. she nodded.
"yes, thank you very much. i am in your debt."
"it's no trouble. think nothing of it," he told her before he vanished, leaving her to weave her way through the crowd in search of you. xiao returned to his perch on the balcony, scanning the crowd once again for your familiar form.
what would usually be a fairly easy search quickly become far longer than he'd expected. you were nowhere to be seen, and after a third, then a fourth, and finally a fifth scan of the crowd, he took in a deep, calming breath and tried to listen for a call of his name or a sign of your presence within the inn itself.
nothing.
he reappeared on the outskirts of the crowd again before his panic could get the better of him, shoving past people until he spotted verr goldet behind the makeshift bar that had been put together before the party. she was pouring seemingly endless glasses of dandelion wine for the eager customers on the other side of the counter, meeting their demands with a patience that xiao envied.
she spotted him before he could speak, a small smile on her face as she continued to work on taking the orders of the partygoers.
"xiao," she greeted, "i'm surprised to see you. y/n told me that you'd be keeping your distance tonight."
"do you know where they are?"
verr paused, bottle of wine stilling in her hand as she glanced at him. her expression seemed to ask how he had possibly lost sight of you—she was, admittedly, one of the few people who felt comfortable telling him that you were perfectly safe without his constant vigilance.
"i haven't seen them, but they might've just gone to the bathroom. i'm sure they're fine."
right. of course. there were plenty of reasons why you wouldn't be in his direct line of sight. there was no real reason for him to get so worked up over momentarily losing track of you.
he glanced towards the main entrance of the inn. it was vacant of anyone but a few stragglers stumbling towards their rooms, spent from the excitement and the alcohol that had been flowing fairly freely as the night progressed. you were nowhere to be found.
"don't disturb the customers!" verr shouted after him as he strode towards the inn intently, his face a cloud of worry and frustration.
even though you usually pretended to be ignorant of it, xiao knew that you were more than aware of his tendency to hover. you would sometimes tease him about it, but you also understood how important it was that he knew you were safe. if you'd left, you would've signaled to him that you were going somewhere he couldn't see you.
if you'd gone willingly.
the thought had him moving faster towards the third floor where most of the rooms were located. he paused in front of the first one, wondering how much of a scolding he'd get from you, verr goldet, and zhongli if he barged into each room one-by-one until he found you.
it doesn't matter, he told himself as he lifted a foot to kick down the first door. it was just before he made contact with the flimsy wood that he heard something around the corner of the hall: the smallest sound of distress, and then a reprimand from a low voice to remain silent.
his weapon was in his hand before he even caught sight of the two figures illuminated only by the dim glow of the hall lamps. the man who had spoken was towering over a hunched figure in the corner of the room. he looked angry, and he held a limp arm in a tight grip as he tried to drag a barely-conscious human towards an open door.
xiao did not need to look down to know that it was you who was being dragged. he recognized you immediately, if not by your silhouette then by the familiar sound of your voice, so quiet that he likely wouldn't have picked it up had he been human. you let out a pained, terrified call of his name that made the man above you scoff, undeterred in his efforts to pull you to your feet.
in a single, precise blast of wind, the man was on the opposite end of the hall, clutching the back of his head where he'd hit it against the wall and groaning in pain.
xiao's weapon disappeared as he knelt at your side. he lifted your head onto his lap and held it firmly between his palms, studying your expression carefully. your eyes were lidded, and you looked like you were barely hanging onto consciousness. xiao felt anger swirl deep within him as he scanned you, searching for any sign of injury.
the skin that the man had been holding was irritated, circled with a red handprint that was already beginning to bruise. xiao picked it up gingerly and closed his eyes, willing breath into his lungs before it burst from him in an explosion of fury.
"xiao..." you breathed, eyes falling shut with the knowledge that xiao had come for you. the adeptus swallowed thickly, pressing a kiss to your wrist and laying it gently over your chest. he brushed your disheveled hair from your face and stiffened when he caught sight of the dark bruise on your cheek. you had gone limp in his arms, and he lifted you up at the same time that the vile man on the opposite end of the hall rose shakily to his feet.
"what the hell?" he grumbled, shooting xiao a scathing glare that the adeptus returned tenfold. the man blanched at the glare he was given, far more menacing than his own from the hundreds of years of practice that xiao had under his belt. "y-you attacked me. i could have you arrested for this!"
xiao didn't trust himself to speak. his fury was boundless, and he knew that if it was released, this man would be dead within seconds.
him, and most of the humans residing in the rooms surrounding them.
the man looked bewildered, both by xiao's silence and by the darkness radiating from him. he shifted as a thick aura of destructive intent pooled into the room—just a fraction of the rage that xiao felt—and attempted a hasty retreat for the stairwell.
morax, xiao called sharply as he moved to follow the man, i require your assistance.
zhongli appeared almost instantly in front of him, concerned expression from the rare use of his old name becoming grim at the sight of you limp in xiao's arms.
"what do you need?"
"please take them to bubu pharmacy."
zhongli didn't hesitate to reach forward as the adeptus carefully handed you to the ex-archon. xiao kept a hand on your cheek for a moment longer when you were secure in zhongli's arms, listening closely for the steady beat of your heart. when he was satisfied, he stepped back and nodded at zhongli.
the man disappeared immediately, and xiao felt something tighten in his chest at having you out of sight again. he trusted zhongli to take care of you in your vulnerable state, but not having you within arms reach after you'd been in danger was nearly enough for him to forget the man stumbling down the stairs, and instead go straight to bubu pharmacy.
he stood at the top of the stairs for a moment longer before he teleported to the bottom floor. verr goldet saw him instantly—though he knew that he wasn't being very subtle. the darkness that he felt boiling within him was probably consuming the space around him, which was likely for the best. it would help create a clear space for him to do what he pleased to the vermin that had finally reached the final set of stairs.
he vaguely heard verr calling for people to back away, herding them towards the bridge on the opposite side of the courtyard in anticipation of some kind of confrontation.
the man gave a shout of surprise when he spotted xiao at the bottom of the stairs, stumbling backwards and crawling up the stairs like a rat. xiao felt his mouth twitch, lip pulling back in a snarl, but he composed himself.
he took his time making his way towards the man, taking each step with deadly intent that he knew the cockroach could feel. his eyes were wide and filled with a delicious expression of fear that xiao reveled in. he generally didn't feel this sadistic need for blood, but this was different. this man—this...this animal—had hurt you. who knows how many others he'd hurt in the past.
you would be the last that he ever attempted to harm.
xiao covered the surrounding scene in thick shadows, sparing the onlookers from what was unfolding. he couldn't, however, mask the screams of a coward begging for mercy.
it took him little more than five minutes to take care of the mess he'd made of the stairway and contain the darkness that had pooled around him and the man. he was gone before the crowd could catch sight of him.
he was in front of bubu pharmacy in seconds, breathing as deeply as he could manage to keep his ever-festering rage in check.
"xiao," he heard zhongli say next to him, a hesitancy in his voice that xiao rarely heard. he looked up at the man and blinked, taking in the grave expression on his face.
"they'll be alright," zhongli said before xiao could even open his mouth, hands held neatly behind his back. there was a deep, unsettled frown on his face that was making xiao uneasy.
"but?"
"but...they were drugged. baizhu is trying to determine the exact substance that was used, but he said that it will do no lasting physical harm."
xiao felt something in his chest tighten at the thought of you being in such a vulnerable position in the few minutes that he was gone. you must've been terrified...
"xiao," zhongli's voice broke him from his spiraling thoughts—thoughts that were quickly becoming self-incriminating. "do not blame yourself for this."
"i left," xiao said simply, staring through the door of the pharmacy despite zhongli's pointed gaze insisting that he meet his eyes.
"the only one at fault is the man who did this," zhongli continued, "who, i assume, is not longer a problem."
xiao gave a single nod, and he was sure that he heard a sigh of relief come from the ex-archon.
"good," the man said coldly, "that's one less thing to worry about."
xiao glanced up at his former master, wondering what he was still doing here. surely the situation was being handled by baizhu, and with his own presence, there was no need for him to take up any more of the man's time with a situation born from his own inadequate vigilance–
"you're going to give yourself a headache," zhongli tutted, gliding past xiao towards the doors of the pharmacy.
"wait," xiao called, halting zhongli where he stood.
"yes?"
"i–" he grit his teeth, willing the words to get through to zhongli, "i left."
zhongli watched xiao for a moment before he returned to the adeptus' side.
"why did you leave?"
"a woman was being attacked," he responded immediately, "a few miles from the inn. she called my name."
"and do you think y/n would have forgiven you if you'd ignored a woman in need to continue watching over them?"
xiao felt his throat dry at this. it was true—even without the added stipulation of the woman being your friend, you would've been distraught to learn that he'd ignored someone's plea for help to keep watch over you.
but the one time he'd lost sight of you was the one time you'd needed him most.
you hadn't even been able to call for him.
a sadistic part of him wished he'd kept the man alive, if only to make him suffer further, but he knew that would bring him nothing more than a brief, fleeting feeling of satisfaction. it wouldn't change what had happened, and it wouldn't leave you any less scarred by the event.
"come," zhongli said after xiao had been given sufficient time to stew in his own thoughts, "you should be with them when they wake."
when he finally fought past the guilt clouding his mind and entered the pharmacy, you were still unconscious. baizhu explained the effects of the drug to him quickly—in small doses, it caused drowsiness and fatigue. A higher dose could render someone unconscious—much like the state that you were in now. xiao knew anger was still radiating from him, but he couldn't find the energy to try and hide it. how dare someone do this to you. they had no right to even look at you.
"xiao?"
a whisper of his name broke him from his thoughts, and he bent towards you with a gentle hand on your cheek.
"i'm here."
your smile made most of his anger drain away, and he did his best to return it. he knew he hadn't convinced you—you always seemed to see through his attempts to feigning emotions. you showed him mercy this time, likely too exhausted to do much more than keep your eyes open. xiao sat in the chair at your bedside and took your hand in his.
you closed your eyes again at his familiar touch, letting yourself drift off with the knowledge that you were safe.

I hope im not sending too many asks but- if you dont mind, could I request nsfw headcannons of a flirty and fun reader whos shy in the bedroom but with the daddies Zhongli, Alhaitham and Diluc? The first one i requested made me giggle and kick my legs so why not another -🥐
Flirty Fun Reader Who Is Shy In The Bedroom (NSFW)
Tumblr media
After so many years since Zhongli last dated, it was difficult for him to keep up with you.
You were so vibrant and fun to be around, and you brought the youth back to Zhongli.
He is a classy guy, but after dealing with your flirting for so long, he's learned how to give it right back.
He can be quite sensual when he wants to be, saying things that swept you off your feet.
He had expected your vibrant and extroverted personality to translate into the bedroom as well.
But the moment Zhongli slipped his jacket off, standing at the edge of the bed as he towered over you, he quickly realized that wasn't the case.
You had such a deep blush on your cheeks, and you couldn't even look him in the eyes.
"Is something the matter?"
You shook your head no, but you couldn't articulate what was happening to you.
"Is my little Dove nervous?"
Zhongli would climb on top of you once undressed, caging you against the bed.
"Don't worry; I'll help you reach new highs that will make you forget about your nervousness."
Tumblr media
Alhaitham loved your flirty and fun personality.
In public, he is more reserved, but when the two of you are alone, he matches your energy.
He is the biggest tease, and sometimes he even beats you to the punch.
One night he came up behind you, wrapping his arms around you from behind. He whispered sweet nothings into your ear, and before you knew it, the two of you were in his bedroom.
But you became flustered when he slipped his hands under your shirt.
Of course, he immediately noticed the flushed cheeks, the nervous fidgeting.
"Has my girlfriend been all talk this entire time?"
He couldn't help but chuckle as he trailed kisses down your neck and across your chest.
"You're so precious like this. I think I like this side of you, Doll."
Tumblr media
Diluc was so awkward at first. He wasn't used to a personality like yours.
He would get so flustered when you would flirt with him in public. He didn't know how to handle it.
It wasn't until a few months of dating that Diluc started to loosen up. He started matching your flirty energy more often.
So when the two of you ended up glued together on the couch, and he saw how shy you became?
It was his time to shine.
No more flustered Diluc unable to keep up with you.
"Come on, show me that pretty face of yours."
He teased you a few times until you were practically stuttering; you were so embarrassed.
"I just can't help myself, all those times you flirted with me in public, knowing it embarrassed me."
After that night he had such a confidence boost. He never got flustered again by your flirty comments.
Tumblr media
Chef kiss, i love Zhongli and Alhaitham so much, they are ultimate daddies. Someone needs to request a daddy kink next time my requests are open, I'll do it, no shame

Tumblr media
he was flustered.
no, beyond that.
the golden in his gaze twinkled with bewilderment when you whined for him. “Zhongli,” you cooed, grasping at his wrist and guiding it upwards. your eyes sparkled, pupils blown out with need as you elicit the tiniest puffs of hot panting— locked in a passionate stare with him as he took his time with you; filling you with slow, deep strokes until your back is arching off the bed. “choke me.”
he never would’ve done it had you not asked, he was never the type to allow his lust for you to take possession of him and weaken his resolve. you were small, and to him, fragile. he would’ve chosen to use those fingers to gingerly caress your steaming cheek, or trace your pretty, soft lips before he kissed them.
however, now that they curled around your vulnerable throat, he felt a moan slip from his lips before he could cinch them. his stomach lurched, and his eyes lit up. he hadn’t expected to like it so much. “You enjoy this?” he asks, though he can see the pleasured simper on your parted lips as you take shallow breaths; you nod with a happy whimper, and his hips snap forward with more force than you’re used to— spurred by this new, ferocious and mighty feeling. your eyes widen, and your body jerks in turn, breasts bouncing, but you hold on to his wrist with both hands, and mewl delightfully.
“My little darling likes to feel overpowered, does she not?” he croons, leaning back to admire the way you were splayed out for him. “Small and helpless?”
Zhongli couldn’t help himself; as his amber jewels raked over every inch of your naked frame, he could see each glistening runner of perspiration, he could watch your lungs inflate, and he could see his fist gripping your thin neck. his hand was so massive against it that he was able to use the soft pad of his thumb to caress your clavicle.
another nod, accompanied by the faintest, cutest gasp for air when he slammed himself home once more. it was the deepest he could go, and the deepest he’s ever been before— deep enough to hit your limit and see the shock on your face when he did so.
“Y—you’re so—“ you were whispering, stammering, with your knees trembling against his ribs, “d—deep, oh my g—“
the god hadn’t anticipated how addicting that look of awe and euphoria on your features would be to him, but he wanted to keep it there, forever. his free hand grasps one knee, pushing it back towards your chest. you whine, but allow the pretzel, following with the other leg until your ankles tickle his earlobes.
“And you are such a… good, little girl… for taking me so deep…” he groans, each word punctuating an incredibly deep thrust; every time the shape of his cock bulged against the inside of your belly, your head spun. Zhongli leans over you once more, pressing his weight against your legs to bend you open to him further, and draw himself closer to your face. it was contorted in frustrated nirvana, your brows knit together and your mouth hanging open. but, your eyes were big and innocent— even as he fucked you hard and deep, even as he squeezed your pretty neck, you looked celestial. and he couldn’t take it.
“I can’t hold myself back,” he pants, ragged against your lips before smothering them with his own, “I need to cum inside you.” your back pushed off the bed, encouraging the breeding. you wanted nothing more than to feel him come undone. with his firm grip on your throat, he eased you back down against the mattress, and pinned you there, “Stay right there for me, little girl,” he coos, hips rocking faster— chasing that high. you cry out his name, and he swallows the sound as his lips suffocate yours, “let me flood your womb, let me fill you until you’re ready to burst. Let me breed you, I need it.”

This is so sudden brainrot but imagine... That You, the Creator, are married with one of the Archons.
But the people never really saw You.
Warnings: Too much cheesiness in Venti's and Zhongli's part, only sadness in Ei's part, flangst in Furina's part, "Being human" problems in Furina's and Ei's part, Ei and Scara's "toxic" bond, slight mentions of abondenment, the reader being referred as "wife"
Tumblr media
In Mondstadt, much like other nations, people had never seen their Creator. There were many monuments and statues all around their city, and they knew for a fact that there were even more in other ones, and people worshipped your name alongside their Lord Barbatos with pride, gratefulness and love.
The tale of your adventures together, the many battles you both fought side by side and brought their ancestors to victory, the way you both saved Mondstadt from the vengeful God Decarabian and later the corrupt society... But above all, the strong and unbreakable love you held for each other for centuries were told all around the city's lively streets.
Many stories, paintings, books were written in both of your names; told as both a warning and a heartwarming message.
Once, and even occasionally now, they were heard through their murmurs of praise and the Wind you and your beloved controlled.
Alongside that bard's tunes and melodic lyre where he declared his "unyielding and ever-strong love" for the Creator.
Blasphemous, really.
But the people just left him be. After all, if he trully angered You and Lord Barbatos, the bard wouldn't even be standing alive and rather striken down by bolts of thunder rather than being drunk all the time and sing songs about his devoted love for You as he was ready to give his all.
Diluc was trully going to strike him with his own claymore even if his beloved Creator didn't, and he would have the support of the whole city for doing so as the bard only giggled and played with the ring on his finger, one that was adorned with many jewels unknown to humans...
Which made people question Venti whether he robbed someone rich or he had someone rich buying all that stuff.
Basically a sugarmommy or something. One that needs to be either a God or, as absurt as it was, the Creator Themselves since he was living somehow a luxurious life with all those exclamations and all his debt to Master Diluc was suddenly payed.
Because come on,who would... Exclaim such vulgar and intimate things about Their Majesty, when They already have a husband?
The husband who very much so adores and worships the ground his spouse walks on, who is also very horny for Them and regularly makes love with Them which ends with two slightly exhausted but very pleased Gods wearing giddy smiles as giggles leave them, their hands still touching and proding against the other's body... There was a reason A Thousand Winds were important for the nation of freedom-
But, two things were enough for them to reconsider their decisions one day and send them into a heart attack that surely would put them in their grave early.
One: The fact that the Creator, not that they knew at that time, was drinking coffee happily while eating Mondstadt Hash Brown and Nothern Smoked Chicken in the Good Hunter while conversing with people normally as if they enjoyed hearing Diona complain about their alcohol and how bad it was for the health, all the while bouncing a very happy and excited Klee on Their knees as she rambled about her Dodoco.
And Two: Venti running up to that person, you, with a wide grin and kissing you while exclaiming a happy "Windblume, you are here! I missed you so much!"
Now, it wouldn't have been a big problem and shock. You see, it was two lovers happily hugging and greeting each other, exchanging loving kisses and stares as even the hearts of people around them were shook by how intense and strong it was. The elders were cooing at the cute scene, the shorter and petite looking bard hugging a tall and strong-looking person, a show of their contrast yet harmony as the person lovingly patted his head and kissed his soft cheeks like usual...
Had they not known Venti was their Archon Lord Barbatos who was married with... The Creator, like he exclaimed so in many of his drunkard monologues, and suddenly his pretty ring and life made sense as Jean fainted from witnessing the Holy love of her Gods and the truth behind Venti's real marriage to You, Lisa's eyes widened as a blush overtook her face and...
Well, chaos ensured.
"Windblume! You are here!" Venti exclaimed happily with reddened cheeks, both from his excitement and drunk self. You could only sigh softly at the fact that he once again drunk himself away, a tad bit disappointed at hım failing his promise once again even though he made great progress, yet you still caressed his face with lithe fingers as softly as possible with a frown.
And did Venti hate that sight with a burning passion.
All that mattered was you, for him. The You who still loved him despite his mistakes in the past and the hollow feeling that followed hım everywhere. The You who always reassured him that he deserves the happiness he now lives...
And He couldn't be more grateful to have it with you, for you to accept his love all those years ago, way before even humans were created.
And to his happiness, you finally came back after he spent painful years alone since another world needed your assistanfe. Sure he was "sleeping" while he was actually taking care of your daughter, playing with her all day to make up for the lost time and teaching her about the wind but you didn't have to know that!
You sure as hell did, and was getting ready to scold the shit out of him later for allowing and teaching your precious child foul words to insult people Barbatos didn't like.
"Yes, my beloved husband... Unforfunately, one of the universes needed my assistence immediately and another once-water-dragon needed some teaching. Poor boy, judged because he is the reincarnation of the previous Imbibitor Lunae..."
Venti only hummed thoughtfuly as he sat down next to you, twirling a Cecilia between his fingers with a soft smile since the once depressing sight of the flower was now of a happy and joyful sight that reminded him of hope, love and... Babypowder.
But there was also the fact that you had way too many adopted children. He liked your soft heart for children, he really did and he was also the same as you as he too "adopted" kids...
But was it not getting out of hand?
"Another one we're adopting? Don't you think-" he sweated nervously with a tilt of his head, pouting in thought at yet another sad child in his home though he didn't really hate the idea, not at all.
But the havoc caused by all the ruckus caused by them and his precious flower who loved those big brothers and sisters she had was giving him white hairs since he couldn't do something that would erase her cute smile, like getting angry at her and them for having fun and being free. What kind of father and God would he be then?
You saw the reluctance in his eyes as clear as the day, and you understood why he felt that way. At first, you also were reluctant to do what you have been doing for years now but one look at their sad and lifeless eyes that held no childlike wonder...
And you were suddenly hugging them all to your chest, swooping them up and giving them the best life possible.
Besides, you also learnt how to get under Barbatos' skin too!
You pouted at him cutely, getting closer to him and nuzzling your face to his neck teasingly as you landed a soft kiss to the juncture of his neck, softly nimbling on the tender skin as he groaned out and lightly threw his head back.
"You are making me crazy, Windblume..."
"Hmm, but you like it~ Besides, I know you like me happy and this kid also commands Wind-"
"Consider it done,Windblume! I wonder how Cecilia would react though."
Gotcha.
Just as quickly, he fell apart and his fake reluctance was replaced with fatherly affection at having yet another wind user at home to teach new skills as his hand thightened over yours and he stared at you after you lifted yourself from your place on his neck.
You smugly smirked with a hint of affection for his soft side as you kissed his lips softly, leaving him in a daze as he looked at you with a lopsided and lovesick smile.
That was why you loved him so much...
You laughed to yourself happily at how easy it was for him to accept anything and nothing that came from you, especially when it included mistreated children's care who was blessed by the wind.
Besides, he had a really hard time saying no to both you and those he considered as his children who had his vision... His own child wasn't an option because he never said no to her much to your dismay.
"Hmm? She is a lovely and friendly girl, she even befriended Neuvillette and adores when Zhongli tells her stories of the ancient times! I'm sure everything would be fine!"
Venti groaned at what you said, because though Zhongli and him were not on so good terms... It seemed his own daughter stabbed him from the back by liking her uncle Li's stories as much as her dad's and his own wife took great satisfication from making fun of him for it while drinking Osmanthus Wine as if the situation wasn't bad already.
Barbatos was just being dramatic in your opinion since your daughter generally loved reading and listening to other people's stories. Besides, Cecilia had a very big Dvalin plushie alongside the friends that shaped Mondstadt to its recent version, and refused to sleep without having them close to her and if that didn't say enough, her wearing the same clothes as his and even sometimes imitating her father did.
Which often ended up with a bawling Barbatos as he nuzzled to her, her doing the same to hım as they resembled a mama cat and her kitten.
"MAMA, PAPA! MAMA CAME BACK!" A shrill, excited cry came from the Gates as everyone's attention was turned for a second to the little toddler girl who suddenly zoomed to where you and Venti was, clinging onto you and nuzzling her face to yours as you laughed fondly and stared at her with eyes identical to hers that she inherited from you...
The stars that would always follow the Princess and the sign of Teyvat, on her inherited eyes shone the brightest as the people of Mondstadt met their Creator in the most affectionate way possible: Showcasing of the motherly love You held for the baby in your arms as Barbatos walked around the city you two built with the help of your now deceased friends proudly.
Proud for he was able to give Cecilia a future to hope for, a place for her to grow up without knowing the harshness of this world and how much blood was spilled for her and the future generation to grow and flourish, for them to never know tyranny and pain.
And that was also the day, the people of Mondstadt met the Priincess Cecilia of their Creator and Archon.
A lovely toddler who was loved and adored by Teyvat and all the universes.
A toddler that had the same love between her parents reflected in her eyes and smile.
And apparently, a toddler who loved apples as much as her dad, if not more, as the gremlin they were together.
"Cecilia, how many apples have you eaten today?" You raised your brows at her suspiciously innocent face, questioning her enormous pocket which you were sure held many apples for her to eat with her dad.
"Only 3, mama!" She smiled widely at you, unaware of the pocket dimension which seemed huge to the eye of a God, the one you added behind her dress because she loved picking things up and storing them as keepsakes.
"Besides the other 100 ones you have in your pocket dimension??"
A poignant silence settled between the three of you, as cricket sound was the only thing that could be heard. You stared at your daughter whose eyes widened at your question, shocked at how you knew of her secret stash, fondly and amused.
Poor baby, she still couldn't understand that you were the Creator of All and knew pretty much everything.
"...... I can explain, mama!"/ "Windblume, you can't punish her! Look at her cute face, and how adorable she is while holding the apples!"
And yes, indeed, you couldn't punish them because of how much you loved them both as Cecilia offered you two apples rather than one like she did to her dad, who only smiled and nodded as she said she loved you so so much, while you two walked out of the city to go and visit uncle Dvalin and you only shook your head in fake disappointment at he silliness of both your husband and daughter.
He agreed on that fact of Cecilia without complaints as he stared at your etheral smile. After all, Mondstadt was the epitome of his love for You.
Even if you didn't allow him to eat more apples-Besides, the artival of a New Princess would surely be rnough for hım.

With Liyue, it was way different.
Morax, or Zhongli as he now called himself, had begged you to take some days off with himself away in your lovely and cozy home on the outskirts of Liyue, away from the bustling crowd so that both him and your daughter could freely let go of their human appearance and waffle around with their dragon features.
A big contrast to the home he once had as Rex Lapis.
Now, there were two reasons for him wanting you have some rest. One, because he missed you. He missed those good old times when he would always sit with you in your balcony and watch the sun as his black and scaled hands clasped around your middle with your back resting on his chest, inhaling and exhaling softly to which he did the same.
He missed the days he got to spend with you as himself, not the human one but the true him. The dragon him, with amber horns that shone with each light hitting them. Tail so large and big yet also soft that it was a great blanket for you and Zhi.
His little girl, the one who showed the world of the love shared between the Creator and Rex Lapis, the fruit of thousands of years of love and marriage which was fated to continue to grow and get stronger.
You insisted that, at the time when you were pregnant upon your stubborness because you wished to experience it rather than just creating your child out of wisp, whatever gender the baby would be... They would be named after him.
He disagreed on that at first, to his and your shock since he never did such thing before even when his ideas and yours were completely opposite of each other.
To him, he was a monster that shed way too much blood. A God of War that killed many Gods, a God that was too harsh and even rude sometimes... Once a sinner that dared to challenge the Allmighty Creator of All.
And for all these reasons and more complicated ones, he always felt unworthy of the happiness and serenity he now has. He felt the guilt of his past actions often pricking at his mind at the deep of the night, all the screams and tears he made others let out plagued his already fragile mind as the others surrendered to the sweet embrace of sleep and he laid awake beside you, who only wished to take his pain and self-loathing away so that he could finally start living.
But for the longest time, you were unable to make him see the beauty of life and above all, himself.
However his little Zhi changed it all for him, with her fat cheeks and chubby arms and all smiles at him even when she hadn't opened her eyes to the worlds that waited with batted breaths yet.
Both Teyvat and that time's Liyue were so excited at the news of their Archon and Creator having their own child, true embodiment of love and power. Teyvat was sunny and shiny for days, and even if it rained, it was always a soft drizzle and never a hurricane.
And your people? They were so ecstatic as the city bubbled with life and happiness, with everyone preparing offerings, clothes, jewelries and toys for the uncoming heir. Rex Lapis toys, story books about you and your husband's adventure, teething toys (you didn't understand at first but now blessed the makers eternal happiness in the after life for it because boy, was it bad), you name it and the list went off.
As if all the gifts stopped there... All the Adeptus and even the level-headed Guizhong literally raced to be the baby's favourite auntie/uncle with the gifts or clothes or their plans of playing with them while you sat there next to your husband with an awkward smile, him stroking your bloated belly with a fatherly love as the baby kicked his hand happily, knowing it was the sweet hold of its dad...
All the while Alatus and Bosacius butted heads for what food and game were the best for the baby, Guizhong and Streetward Rambler sketched new toys while Menogias and Cloud Retainer already started their clothing plans to sew for later.
And the baby wasn't even born.
He still remembers the days he spent silently crying while holding one of the toys which was gifted from his people for his baby after it was declared that their nation would be blessed with a child of their Archon and Creator, holding onto the doll and imagined a daughter who played with it with a huge smile.
He knew any child of a loving marriage such as yours would be a blessing, especially since they would have your lovely features that he fell for a long time ago and still did, too. But his heart couldn't help but swell whenever he thought about having daughters who looked at him as if he hung the stars and tried to imitate you.
And no, his dragon instincts weren't playing a crucial role in his sudden need of many children and the thightness he felt in his pants whenever he saw you, his wife, walking around with a child between your arms in his and your land, with his wedding band that he crafted on your finger-
Yes, he wanted a girl to cuddle with and dote on so badly- even when most "men" only wished to have sons at an age when it was the expected behaviour and Zhongli never fit in, being "ridiculed" for his wish for an healthy child only, even if ridiculing him wasn't possible since he had a very sharp tongue when he wanted and he didn't care about fitting when he was the one who made the land, being the dad of his little girl was the greatest honorary title he ever .
And when little Zhi was born, with eyes wide with curiousity and wonder for the world around her, a smile wide enough to lighten up the whole universe as she gazed between you and her dad who was just sobbing at the innocence on her face and the cute baby fat all around her body as he held his whole life between his arms...
Morax made the biggest and most important contract of forever, after his promise to forever love and cherish you.
To always be there for his girl and protect her from any harm, so that the smile she wore the first day she was welcomed in Teyvat as it rejoiced at the arrival of the little princess, would forever remain on her face.
And the second reason was... Well...
"Let me get this straight: You wanted to retire for good and therefore faked your own death, are now a funeral consultant who happens to have met with one of my vessels from another world and all of this mess happened right before Zhi started showing her dragon side and saw her dad 'dying'?"
You deadpanned at Zhongli as he winced awkwardly from the loud cries of his precious baby daughter who clinged onto your legs, drawing slight Holy Golden Blood that belongt to you. He felt like the filthiest lower form on the surface of Teyvat as tears fell down her cheeks in huge globs, her whimpers filling the empty room as the sky roared angrily outside with its harsh wisps of storm and rain hitting the windows as if they wanted to get inside and punish him for making "the Princess of Teyvat" cry as the people outside tried to find a shelter.
And was the ground shaking or was it his imagination?
Even though her claws hurted your human skin and caused you to hiss in pain, you couldn't care less since your daughter was the most uncomfortable she had ever been, with her cheeks wet from the tears for her "father's death"...
Even with the cute little horns and claws, alongside the huge slitted amber eyes she definetly inherited from her father that you loved more than anything made her impossible to resist, you were still angry at Zhongli and neither her nor his puppy eyes would work on you.
"I understand your need for rest but we need more than a vacation now, Morax! We need therapy! She thinks you're gone and-" you frailed your arms around angrily while pointing between her and him, when you were interrupted by your daughter's soft voice and hiccups.
"Māma? Bàba is gone? He won't c-come?" Zhi whimpered as she clutched the plushie of the dragon form of her dad thightly to her chest, the item being her only comfort at the moment as your heart broke for the tears falling down her amber eyes as stars dimmed inside of them.
Heh, at least she has that feature from me even though she is a replica of her dad...
"No, love... Bàba isn't gone, he is just being silly." You gritted your teeth slightly to Zhongli as you led Zhi away while looking over your shoulder at him threateningly.
A glare that sent chills down his spine, as Zhongli knew the hidden meaning behind it even after thousands of years being together
You better find a way to fix this or else...
And you know what they say: Happy wife, happy life.
And in Zhongli's case: Happy wife, happy child and happy universes...

With Fontaine, it was after Focalors' plans were revealed to the people and Fontaine was saved with Your and Focalors' combined powers and help. The people lived, the children and friends you had made were safe and all of them were alive as they hugged the closest person to them happily, praising your and Focalors name as they prayed and thanked you both...
At the cost of your lover's life.
You humorlessly chuckle as rain falls down your face and mixes with your tears, head hung low on the last stage you two could ever have as the heaviness of the situation slowly dawned on you.
It seems loosing who I love the most is a frequent occurance.
Now, one might question why the All-Creator wasn't just simply bringing her lover back to life or just not will her death to stop. As the Creator, you were supposed to be that powerful and nothing should disobey you... Well, they were all true facts about your being but you couldn't just do it because you promised her.
After everything was over, and the time you dreaded which was the end of this masqurade had finally come... She said she was just too exhausted to continue as an Archon beside you and asked if it was allright to rest.
Maybe as any other person would do, but not as an Archon... She couldn't keep going anymore.
Besides, Fontaine no longer needed an Archon. They were strong on their own as well, and she knew that if Celestia dared to go against your command once more... You would protect them and the rest of the Teyvat fiercely.
"I wish to rest, my dear... If you will be allright without me and there wouldn't be a problem?" She asked softly with her much smaller hands gently caressing your saddened face, wiping the few stray tears that fell down on your cheeks. Your heart hurt way too much, at how easy it was for her to recognize your tears from the heavy rain that poured down, at how soon enough... You would loose the person that knew you the best, always stood next to you at harsh times and put a smile on your face with her antics.
Teyvat cried alongside you for the pain their Creator felt as the guillotine that would take her away from you floated above you.
It was ready to destroy itself if you commanded, that magicial execution weapon didn't like the idea of killing its Archon and the beloved of the Creator, even though you weren't at your full power...Any being, alive or not, bent the knee to you after all but, if there was something stronger than the Will of the Creator...
It was the wish of Her lover, whom She was ready to do anything for and who wished to depart with an excellent last show.
After all, how could you resist her when she asks you so sweetly with her loving and different-colored eyes?
"Then, as your lover... I shall make your wish come true. You may rest, my love, until your soul is ready to come back to the world I created with so much love." You tearfully exclaimed, hands coming up to take a hold of hers as your lips locked with her own and then landed on her forehead tenderly for the last time. As the fact that this was the last time you would stare at her eyes, witness her dramatic plays, see your reflection in her eyes filled with love for you finally dawned on...
You silently broke.
You had this much of previlege, right? Who said the Creator couldn't grieve? Maybe you couldn't outwardly show weakness to your people, but at least you had Teyvat reflecting your true emotions...
But just as you were suffering, there was another one who had been suffering for 500 years in silence. From having to pretend as someone she wasn't, putting on the mask of the strong Archon who did her best to entertain her people so that they weren't worried about the prophecy...
But above all, from pretending not to be in love with the one person she wasn't supposed to fall for.
"I have loved you for this cruel 500 years, Your Grace. Even when I knew your heart belongt to another, one that I pretended to be for many years in hopes to have you..." she hung her head down in shame and sadness as she whispered to the wind, unaware of you listening to her with a thight heart as she stood on the balcony that looked at the horizon of Fontaine.
Though a part of you still loved Egeria and Focalors, grieved their death and often refused any exclamations of your obvious love for the "puppet" version of her...
Now, you couldn't help but agree with everyone and even Focalors, as you stared at Furina's back with a saddened yet soft smile.
"No, I don't have feelings for her, Focalors!" You denied her obvious teasing, although she raised a brow at your flushed face with a smirk.
"It's okay to have feelings for two people at the same time, love! Even more so when It's you, the All-Creator!"
"Focalors!" You bursted out with a hand clutching your chest in embarrasment, dress flowing behind you with each movement as you ran away from her teasing remarks as she laughed at your misery which put a smile on your face even when your body said otherwise.
What a good melody it was as her light laugh resonated in your Chambers...
"What? I'm sure there are others who wish to be your consort so badly!" She rolled over on your bed, laying on her stomach as her feet kicked back and forth happily, her fingers twirling her hair as she gazed at your back, biting her lips but mind actually busy with... This new revelation.
Focalors had always been a different kind. When all the other Archons were either greedy or keen on fighting, she loved scheming her plans and watching in silence from the shadows. That way, most thought of her to be powerless and not strong enough to be an Archon... Unaware of the fact that sometimes brains was much stronger than brawn and they were being imbeciles by not noticing this.
And that fact was what attracted you to her in the first place, eventually resulting with a happy and Holy unity of two person in love much to Focalors enjoyment as she rubbed it on her fellow Archons' face.
But in this new case, although she was surprised by the turn of events, she was fine with sharing You... With her humane prototype Furina.
Someone she was very fond of, even though she was created to act like the Hydro Archon herself... Someone Focalors was proud to create who was slowly becoming what she always aspired Furina to be.
Human.
"Alright, fine! I get it! So what if I have feelings for her? It's not like-"
"You should confess to her."
You still remembered how Focalors smiled softly at that time, no hatred or dislike or even jeaolusy evident on her face as she encouraged you to follow your heart, knowing the truth behind your protective stance concerning your feelings for Furina.
She knew how this plan would end, deceiving the rogue Heavenly Principles never came without a price... And she didn't want you to be alone when it happened, didn't want your kind heart to harden with grief and loneliness.
Furina would be much better of a wife for you, than Focalors could ever be. After all, what kind of wife would give up on her own spouse just when they would have their happily ever after?
At that time, such absurdity repulsed you.
You, having feelings for another? Yet alone someone who was created to deceive your traitor of a first creation Celestia?
Ridiculous.
Not that you thought of her to be ridiculous because she was obviously adorable whenever a new human invention or music excited her and she came to you, begging you to accompany her so that she could understand humans better since you were the one who created such complex yet intriguing beings.
And definetly not that you decided that blue suited her well, when you introduced her to new clothings that complemented her in the best way possible.
"Now, I see that I could never be that... If only true love was enough..."
But poor Furina, now completely human and free, didn't know about any of this. She still was a prisoner in her own cruel mind which yelled self-deprecating and harsh words to her, mocking her for falling for her God.
It wasn't even her intention to be created that way. She didn't mean to fall for your kindness and unconditional love, not when she knew she received them because she was created to replace your lover as the Archon of Fontaine. She knew you only spent time with her because Focalors probably asked you to, because you and her had to get along well for the next 500 years as Focalors remained in shadows for the plan you two made to work.
She knew she would be thrown aside as soon as her part of the play was over...
Yet, her heart still beated hard whenever your eyes found hers and she held onto your hand at times she was afraid.
She still fell for you hopelessly whenever you patiently watched and listened to her plays and antics, and even cracked a smile whenever she forgot what she was supposed to say.
And whenever she saw that smile and hear that laugh, it was like she had become more human as more time she spent in your presence.
But defeated she was, she knew it was impossible to have you for real. At least now that she lost all of the godly power she held and Fontaine was safe from the evil clutches of Celestia as you prepared to go and face Them.
Your Shades.
But, as the once-God-of-Justice... She was wrong about one thing, one thing you felt guilty about: The fact that she thought of herself to be unworthy of You, when it was possibly the other way around.
Indeed, if only she knew the truth... That You held her at the highest position in your heart, which had been the case for 500 years unknown to both you and her.
"I doubt she is strong enough for all these, Focalors... However, such fragile thing yet even if she faces many hardships, she is perfectly human." You idly traced patterns on her arm as she laid next to you in your realm, humming quietly while she relaxed back onto you. You couldn't help but let out a chuckle at her kitten-like behaviour, nuzzling to you while you inhaled her flowery scent...
Though your thoughts were cut short when another set of heterochromatic eyes came to your mind, the same color as the one between your arms... But more humane, more expressive... One that made you fall in love and gaze at for a long time as the sun framed her face in the most ethereal way...
You froze when you realized an affectionate smile lifted your lips up, shaking your head as your heart started to pick up. Suddenly, her excited smile whenever you brought another set of sweets from another world for her to try, or the rare curious and not teasing stare while she munched on food as she listened to what you said with passionate eyes, as if she wished to hear more of you, be in your presence more...
Or that one time when she was just so close for you to lean down and capture her lips-
And the woman next to you heard the exact moment you realized your feelings in your heart.
As if she knew your inner thoughts, she slowly rose up and stared down at your thoughtful eyes with loving ones as her hand caressed your cheeks, making you close your eyes in peace with the calming sound of water almost lulling you to sleep. "Is she weak in your eyes for it?"
Focalors was an Archon, blessed with just a tiny part of your power, but she was able to see right through you. She knew you had been harbouring some kind of... Attraction towards a certain eccentric one that was also too bad at hiding her own feelings as she quite literally hung off of you every chance she got, much to her amusement.
What was even funnier was the fact that you too, though the Creator, were quite bad at hiding your feelings as well and if she needed to be the one to step up and make you realize them soon, Focalors was going to make it come true in one way or another.
"She simply... Amazes me with the strength of her will." you stopped to ponder for an answer for the best words to describe your thoughts, without showing much of your raging emotions. It wasn't a lie after all, the way she sacrificed herself for her people simply amazed you and made your affections grow for the girl. Knowing this, Focalors only giggled knowingly as you rolled your eyes at her when a question whose answer was very obvious and tenderly uttered by you, left her lips.
"And what would you do if all of this ends one day?"
"I'd still be there for her until the end of time..."
"I know you're listening, Your Grace..."
You chuckled under your breath at how she still held some powers of her, though you weren't surprised since she was the secret beloved of the Creator and therefore, the world still blessed her with powers; as you stepped away from your place in the shadows, heels slowly clicking against the marble floor. You soon came to a stop next to her, looking at the rejoicing people of Fontaine who were praying to and thanking both her and You, staring at the horizon together.
Dreading what needed to be said, even if the harsh truth would break her heart, as you looked at her from the side.
"I loved and still love Focalors, Furina."
She sniffled, nodding her head in understanding. She already knew that and prepared herself for the rejection she would have to face. She was happy that her people was safe and happy, that the prophecy didn't happen and destroy her nation...
But, did she not deserve happiness too? Didn't she shed enough tears silently by herself? She didn't even know what she was supposed to do with her new life given to her, a free life for her to enjoy and do as she liked...
With the person she loved the most.
Your heart twisted painfully at her crystal eyes glossing over, which made you question yourself for a second if that was the right way to confess. You were so sure Focalors was laughing her ass off at one point up there, watching this comedic scene quite amused but right now, you needed to take a step to both of your's happiness and make things right as you took a hold of her hand that stood next to her side idly and sighed.
Here we go...
"But I also love you." She whipped her head as soon as she processed your words, eyes immediately focusing on your form that was just a few feet away from her. Her eyes noticed you wearing the Hydro Sigil Necklace she specifically gifted you with, different colored blue hues mixing together in harmony as the stars of Teyvat complemented your face alongside that necklace that shone with the light of a new day in the most perfect way.
The necklace which was the proof of her first doing as Furina and not the Hydro Archon, without any saying from Focalors.
"Y-Your Grace? W-What does it-"
"Did you really think I didn't know the truth about your and Focalors plan? I was the one who suggested it and she was the one who progressed it!.. It seems I truly have a weakness when it comes to Hydro girls!" You joyfully exclaim with a giggle, watching as her face turned pale before a deep crimson took over. Her mind turned to literal mush, unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
Was this one of her wild dreams where she was just... happy with you? No consequences?
But no, this was very much so real as she looked down at your joined hands together and stared into your eyes.
" You have always wanted to have someone listen to your struggles, your pain and burdens, right?" Furina couldn't help the squeak that left her, hurriedly nodding her head as she allowed her tears to fall freely after your next words, hugging you thightly as her tears soaked your gown.
"After years of watching you grow in yourself as the woman who loves all kind of sweets and a knack for being dramatic... The innocent human who endured everything we have planned, unfortunately... I can't help but confess that I had fallen deeply for you."
"Therefore, I shall be that person. Forever, if you wish?" You gracefully took a hold of her slender and smaller hands, finger tips caressing her smooth and soft skin as if it was a fine china. Her heart, now human heart that was free of its shackles, swelled with love with each stroke your hands did.
And her heart caved in, her tears falling down on her cheeks and down to your palm gracefully as she gave a sincere smile amidst her own pain and relief, a smile of the happiness she was starting to have.
"I... That would be a great happiness, Your Grace." You chuckled affectionately, stroking her cheek with the tip of your finger as you landed a kiss on her forehead.
"None of that now... Y/N would do just fine." She beamed visibly at you and nodded, looking at the people below with a new kind of hope blooming inside her chest.
Maybe things would be better from now on?
"By the way, short hair really suits you well, love." You cheekily exclaimed with arms around her waist, hugging her from behind as you stared at the redness coating her cheeks.
Oh, yes... Everything would definetly be better for good.

With Inazuma, things weren't so good unforfunately because of the tense and rocky relationship You and Ei had.
When you had to go on a long work trip where you were to see from close how other universes were doing, not seeing your innocent and loving son with your wife wasn't on your "Top Ten Things to See When I Return" list.
Neither seeing the hunted Visions on your Statue was, as your children were in pain, crying and begging for you to come back and kneeling in front of...
"What's the meaning of this, Ei?"
When the citizens of Inazuma heard their Creator's voice as warmth and comfort engulfed them and freed them from the shackles that kept them bound to the ground, they failed to notice the edge in your tone or rather chose to ignore it.
The angry, scared yet disappointed edge as Teyvat rumbled beneath the feet of people and sky roared above them... All the while Ei stood in front of your shrine with an unreadable and cold face.
This, wasn't Ei... This couldn't be the woman you loved and had a child with...
Child... Baby... Son... Kunikuzushi...
Your eyes widened in fear for your little son, as there was no sight of him and you couldn't feel his presence in the city anymore. Panic overtook your face, heart dropping to your stomach at the possibility of Ei doing something she would regret later and guilt filling your every part at not being more mindful of how she was before you left.
It couldn't have been that bad, enough for her to do something stupid to him... Right?
Damn, you never imagined her hurting Kunikuzushi... She always seemed so loving and affectionate with him, perhaps she was a good actor.
"Ei, where is my Kuni? Where is my son?"
Ei continued to stare at your face as you begged her for answers desperately. Though it was another puppet of her, you could always sense and feel Ei in her and right now, you knew that behind the cold and irritating stare...
She, too, was breaking apart.
But surprisingly enough... You didn't care much about it, your only concern right now was your son. You didn't care that you referred to him as only your son and not hers.
She lost that previlege a long time ago, it seemed.
"He was too human..."
And that was enough to tell you what Ei had done.
You staggered back with a sob, eyes filling with scorching tears as your heart suddenly stopped from the spikes threatening to tear you apart. Even as a God, you weren't pain-proof and at that moment, you wished nothing more than not being able to feel that crashing pain.
Your hand instinctively went up to the necklace your baby son gifted you after a merchant saw him looking at it with huge amazement. Now, the old lady wasn't a fool as to not know who the boy that held stars in his wide and innocent purple eyes was.
Many even wondered where that kindness, sweetness and innocence came from when their Archon was usually... Aloof.
But they agreed that it must have come from you, his other parent and the one he loved and clinged on the most... The Creator that created the worlds with utmost love, selflessnes and kindness unmatched.
And they were right, as Kunikuzushi pointed to the purple and dark blue pendant with a loud coo and wide smile as his cheeks-still filled with baby fat- was reddened by the weather made him look even more cute and made the passerby's eyes fill with tears at the cute display, he kindly asked how much he needed to have the necklace for his mama. Some clenched their hands in cuteness agression, wanting to hug the baby thightly and pinch his cheeks...
But they knew they would be striken down by the Shogun if they did it... Though some still dared to pat his purple tufts of hair, knowing that their Creator never minded and rather loved the affection Their people gave to Their son, the Prince of Teyvat.
"I bough' fo' you, mama! How does it looks?" Kunikuzushi innocently asked as Ei and you looked at the toddling baby fondly who showed his newest treasure proudly with a shy smile, yet a bit insecure since he took a look at the many jewelries you had at home and thought you wouldn't like his gift.
You tenderly smiled from your position on the bed with hugging Ei and let him plop down on your lap, nuzzling to your chest like a kitten as he stared up at you with fullblown eyes, especting an answer from you with his little heart pounding in his chest excitedly.
He only got a tearful smile and a heart filled with unconditional love for him.
"Perfect, my lovely Kuni... Mama loves you so much... So, so much..." You hugged your son thightly to yourself, your heart constricting painfully for some unknown reason as if something bad was bound to happen...
But you foolishly didn't listen to your heart that told you to take a good look at your wife, who looked at the smiling toddler on your lap with somewhat sudden, cold eyes...
Though both of you shared the same parental love for the boy, unforfunately for you and Kunikuzushi... Ei had more plans for him and therefore wanted him to be perfect for it but his humanity was making him unperfect, whereas he was already perfect in your eyes for his humanity...
For his love and wonder for the world around him, his love for you in the most simple act you did... Fear for the unknown but feeling still safe because he knew his mama would be there to protect him from any bad guys and danger! You did it many times with the treasure hoarders, or the Hilichurls and assassins!
So, where were you? Why did you not come when he needed you, called for you, cried for you to save him from this so-called Doctor? Did you too abandon him because he made you upset?
In the end, you failed Kunikuzushi... You failed in every possible thing about him when you couldn't protect him from his own mother, the one who should have loved him and did everything in her power to keep him happy and smiling wide.
You failed at noticing Ei not being in her right mind and at being there for your family.
And now, you all were paying the price.
"And that is why he was perfect... I guess, just not for you." you gritted out angrily as you too pulled your sword out at the same time as she did, not seeing the tears that shone on her porcelain skin and regret for what she had done all those years ago washing over her.
Your disappointed face right before she scumbed to your power and will was only the cherry on top, as she kneeled on both knees in front of you, her hand discarding the katana that slained many living beings as her whole life slowly was torn apart by none other than her destructive hands and doings.
"I trusted the mother of my son... Just for you to abandon him and make him also believe I abandoned him too in this already painful life... Because I thought no harm would ever come to him, least I thought it would be from my own wife."
It seemed that your Ei had become someone else, and she held no value to neither your son who was the happy outcome of your marriage with her, nor You anymore... And even if she cried tears of river, she would never be able to convince you otherwise.
"I will find him and beg for his forgiveness..." you muttered weakly before you turned your back to her for good, at least until things calmed down, as you descended down on the shrine that once witnessed both your union and also the creation of your son...
And now, your departure.
"My love..." Ei weakly mumbled from behind you, finally realizing the severity of what she had done and now, lost... as your emotionless eyes found hers from below the stairs, dress dancing through the wind as if to mock her for her mistakes and failures, she understood that maybe it was her fault.
First her sister, then her friends, then her son and now... You.
The one she always loved from the beginning and swore herself to for Eternity...
She ruined everything, every good thing that ever happened to her because she was either late or didn't see the true value of those in her life...
Like the family you two had created, what should have been a new purpose and a second chance for her was now only another regret in her list of numerous mistakes.
"I'm not going to let him walk down on this path alone... Goodbye for now, Ei." you willed yourself not to look at her shivering form, you knew you couldn't take the sight in. Though you acted cold right now, a part of you still loved her deeply. That part still yearned for her and her heart that she insisted she buried a long time ago, that part still wished to see the small smile as you gifted her with yet another treat and kissed all over her face, later showing how much you truly loved her...
They all seemed so far away now, all those happy days were long gone...
Neither you nor her turned back to take one look at the other as she too retreated back to her Plane of Euthymia, or thought back to the abandoned dreams you both had as all the good memories suddenly started to fade away and you disappeared in front of her eyes to find your son, as you made it clear, and she didn't hold any grudges for the way you angrily spitted out for she too, felt ashamed for what she had done.
And perhaps you both always walked on different paths from the beginning...
She, to a path of Eternity in which she lost herself.
And You, to a path of mending whatever was left of your family and hoping to find your son.

Helloooo. Do we leave requests here? I don’t know. I’m just a potato.

if this is the wrong method… I’m sorry >.<
Hii!! This is the right way to request!! I'm sure you're not a potato 😭😭 anyway here's your request!! Also I hope you dont mind but I turned it into a full one-shot with zhongli!!! Ummmm yes he has two cocks in this teehee
HERBAL TEA - Rex Lapis x Reader
Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Zhongli can't sleep as it's mating season. It's been centuries with him as your husband, but there are still many secrets he has kept hidden from you, many insecurities. GENRE: Fluff, SMUT. Kinda ooc. MINORS DNI. WARNINGS: monsterfucking, breeding, use of the word "pet", "mate", penetration, p in v, unprotected sex, some blood, messy cum, zhongli has a forked tongue, zhongli has two cocks. It's also mentioned that zhongli makes the reader immortal with his icor (that's the ooc stuff). Really filthy smut 😭😭. Also, reader is female!
It was late at night; early morning. You'd woken up suddenly, hearing a loud thud. You looked to the left side of the bed, reaching out for your husband.
Zhongli's side of the bed was cold, and empty. You turned on the bedside lamp, bare chest cold, you scavenged from r the nearest piece of clothing you could find, one of your husband's massive button-down shirts, drowning in it like a dress. You got up, the moonlight shining on your skin.
"Zhongli," you called softly for him. You hugged yourself, walking out of the master bedroom. Zhongli stood at the kitchen table, making a pot of herbal tea. You smiled softly, walking over. He was in his half-dragon form, arms black and shimmering golden. He was growing more comfortable like this, every century since you'd been immortal.
"Morax," you bowed, walking over. He put the teapot down, smiling softly, "my dear, what are you doing awake?" He took your hand and kissed it before twirling you so he could wrap you in his arms. Last night had been one of the best of your life. Zhongli was possessive, but evidently, dragons did not share their treasure, as you had learnt from flirting with a man in the court of Fontaine.
"Your side of the bed was cold," you complained, "I missed you." Zhongli was a light sleeper. As if reading your mind, he hugged you tight, kissing the side of your neck, the texture of his forked tongue making you arch your back in pleasure.
Morax chuckled, "I couldn't sleep, so I wanted to make tea. Then I was reading, but I got distracted... I finished my tea, and I'm making another one... Then I was thinking... My love," he whispered softly, "I need to mate soon." Was that shame in his voice? Why was he ashamed? He bowed his head, "I am getting restless. And now that you are ready, now that I've fed you my ichor for centuries, I must reveal all of myself to you. I can't control it."
Ah. So this at least, explained his sudden change in behaviour. Yes, many years ago, before getting married to him, before becoming immortal, Zhongli had asked, if you were able to withstand so many years of being alive. Yes, you'd told him, he was the man you loved, and you'd gladly be by his side forever.
But he still had so many secrets, he'd said, secrets he wasn't ready to share yet. He was a god, after all. He was a god, yes, but he was also the love of your life. You'd told him this, that eternity with him would be a paradise.
"In order to fulfil the mating process," he explained softly, "I must go through a series of changes. My human form, is quie different to my half-god form, which is why I always make love to you in my human disguise. When I am like this, my body is different. You will notice my tongue is forked. I apologise for hiding it from you for so long, my dear. In order to complete the process... I must... I'm afraid I must... Mate you with both... Both of my cocks."
You gasped, shocked. He looked at you, fear in his golden eyes, which were bright and on the verge of tears. "I am sorry for hiding it for so long," he choked, shame in his voice. "I tried to conceal it, but my body... It's why I was so different last night. Your scent, even after all these years... I needed to mate with you. I understand if you don't want to. I am not sure what will happen. I have never done this before, with a human. I-" you kissed him.
He groaned into the kiss, tightening his grip around your body. You looked up into his big, yellow eyes. "Rex Lapis," you spoke, making his ichor run through him, "you do not understand, do you?" And he cocked his head as you smiled, "I am yours. You asked me all those years ago. I was so in love with you. I am so in love with you. I want nothing more than this. I want nothing more than you, always and forever, to be your wife, to be your mate."
And Zhongli growled. He picked you up, carrying you to the bedroom, throwing you softly onto the bed. "Are you sure you want this?" You nodded, looking up at him, "yes, Rex Lapis, please." And all he did was laugh, "my love, you won't be able to take them."
Zhongli crawled on you, growling and snorting animalistically, the sound of his belt being unbuckled and clattering echoing in the room. "I am not stopping until this cunt is full of my offspring. Do you consent, pet?" You nodded meekly. He was so powerful, even after centuries of drinking his ichor you still felt beneath him.
"I need to hear it, my love. Do you consent?" He kissed your neck, licking his forked tongue up and down your body, making your toes curl. "I consent," you breathed lustfully, "I consent." He let out a hot breath of air, "good." And with that, Zhongli thrust both of his cocks inside of you, no warning and no preparation.
You screamed loudly, pain washing over you at the foreign feeling of his second cock. Had they grown larger? They felt bigger than usual. You sobbed loudly, gripping onto the headboard behind you. Zhongli was only spurred on by the tears. It hurt, but felt so good. This was why he had been training you, you realised, to take both his cock and a crystal toy at the same time. But nothing prepared you for this.
You could feel all of him. All of his rage, his jealousy, his obsession, his greed, his love, his sadness, his happiness, flowing through you, golden waves surrounding both of your bodies in the bed. You moaned loudly, feeling all of his emotions, all of his strength, his power. It was so much. "Feel what I feel," he snarled, "understand what it's like to be in your prescence."
Nothing but his name left your lips, "Zhongli, Zhongli, Zhongli," feeling far too good to think, to even notice the gold blood leaking from your cunt as Morax dragged both of his cocks along your walls. "Do you know how much I've had to restrain my true form?" He roared, ignoring your sobs, thrusting harder each time. "Do you know how fucking insatiable you are? Do you know how weak you make me? You? A mere human? The only human I've ever fed my ichor, the only human I've given my offspring, the only human I've ever loved before?" Do you know how obsessed I am with you?!"
You shook your head, "more, Rex Lapis, more!" Babbling the words through tears, smelling his thoughts and emotions, too overwhelmed with power. Too fucked by both of his cocks. He snorted, slamming them back inside you. You screamed, a painful orgasm crashing down on you. "Yes," he hissed, "yes. Cum all over me, pet. Yes... Cum all around my cocks, just like that. Yes, yes, yes..." Zhongli's groans filled the room, the gold waves growing bigger and bigger.
You were shaking of an orgasm, panting for breath. Zhongli roared loudly, and you could sense it coming, tears streaming down his face, the black and gold of his arms engulfing his entire body as he came, roaring wordlessly through the night, the entire house shaking, drowned in a gold light, smelling of sex. His cum dripped down your legs, there was just so much.
Rex Lapis was still for a while, and you were afraid he was injured. Then he smiled fondly at you, the black and gold evaporating from his body, his half-dragon form morphing back into his human form, although you noticed some things were still in tact. He pulled out and looked at you, uncertainty in his eyes.
"Was I okay?" He was still hovering above you, cleaning your legs and the sheets. You pulled him close to you, kissing him. The tears fell from his face and you realised he was scared. Terrified. You smiled at him softly, "you were beautiful, Rex Lapis, beautiful." And for the first time in his life, the god let out a soft giggle.

It was impossible to have a better lover than Zhongli. He was understanding, loving and deeply caring. You both don't hide your pasts, which meant there were almost no secrets between you.
"Almost no secrets" was a good word to use, since despite the fact that you were honest and shared your life, there were two things that bothered you.
He loved you, but he never claimed you and sometimes he locked himself in his study, only asking that you leave his meals by the door. No matter how hard you tried, he was able to get away without directly answering your question. It was annoying.
During his time of solitude, you finally had enough of his silly behavior and forced the answer from him. In the end, the two of you were together, so his problems were yours, just as yours were his.
As you knocked on the door and waited, you became angry the longer the silence continued. In your anger, you grabbed the door handle and realized the door was unlocked. "Zhongli, my love! I love you, but I'm getting tired of your behavior."
You tried this before; the door was ALWAYS locked. You entered the study without thinking much about it.
In truth, you were only here a few times, but you could already tell the room was unkempt.
The moment you laid eyes on the bed in the corner of the room, away from any windows, your snooping was ended. Based on what he told you before you moved in, he used this room as a study and a bedroom. Although it explained the bed, it did not explain what was sitting on top.
It was your Zhongli, but he seemed bigger than usual; his limbs and clawlike nails were black and gold; his head was adorned with long horns; and his massive tail lay comfortably beside him. His nudity was barely covered by the sheets.
As you approached, unsure of whether you should even ask, you whispered, "Love?"
He raised his head and opened his eyes, which also looked different from what they usually did. "What are you doing here?"
"As always, I was worried when you locked yourself in here. I wanted to make sure you were fine."
He was quiet for a moment, then improved his position on the bed, motioning for you to follow. Once you did, his clawed hand wrapped itself around your wrist. Keeping a tight grip on your waist, Zhongli pulled you to straddle him. In a low growl, he said, "My love, I apologize for worrying you. I didn't mean to."
It was possible to see his fangs from this close up.
"It makes you wonder what's wrong with me, doesn't it?" He asked.
The only thing you could do was nod, still a little fascinated by the changes you saw in him. You moved your hand to his neck where you noticed a few dark scales, caressing them gently with your fingers.
"No need to be so gentle, I'm not in any kind of pain," Zhongli chuckled, quite amused by your curiosity. Before speaking, he let out a low growl and nuzzled your hair. "You know me, I didn't hide much from you, but this is something I'm ashamed of. I didn't want you to see it."
You smiled softly as you nodded. "You were worried I would be afraid of you?"
"That too," he nodded, and you gasped loudly at the feeling of sharp claws grazing your belly; his hands even sneaked under your shirt without you noticing.
He explained, as he nuzzled your shoulder, smelling your scent, "I was more worried that once I got you in my hands, I would not be able to let you go until I was satisfied. I need you. I need your body," his hands easily pushed your bra high enough to grip your breasts, leaving you moaning in light pain.
It would be a lie to say that you disliked it, but you never expected this from him, and it wasn't something that you could refuse, on the contrary, you felt completely differently. His touch felt good and you wanted it. Or rather craved it.
"Take it. I'm all yours."
Even though your confession was nothing more than a whisper, he still raised an eyebrow when he looked at you. As he retracted his hands from under your shirt, he cupped both of your cheeks. "Are you sure about that? Once you agree, there will be no turning back."
Nodding eagerly, you confirmed your words.
He suddenly pulled you into a deep kiss, passing his long tongue across your lips without much delay. With his hands on your cheeks, you were unable to move away, leaving you completely at his mercy. During the kiss, his fangs gently knocked against your teeth, making the kiss needy and messy. After that, he pulled away to let you breathe, the only thing that connected you was a thin string of saliva.
In an attempt to catch your breath, your cheeks were covered in a deep red blush. It didn't take much to make you blush in his arms, this was hilarious. The next thing you knew, you were naked with Zhongli between your legs, your clothes ripped to shreds by his powerful claws.
He ate you like a starving man, holding you down by your hips so you wouldn't move. As his flexible tongue explored your insides, his sharp fangs grazed your clit; he reached as deep as you could never reach on your own.
The sensation in your lower belly made you moan his name loudly.
In spite of hearing your name fall from your lips, he wrapped his lips around your clit as his fingers replaced the tongue, filling you up and stretching you out.
Your warm walls were lightly grazed by the claws, causing you to grab on to the horns, earning a growl from him.
He shook your hands off and then moved up, reaching your neck, whispering, "Look at you. Already a whimpering mess for me. My sweet, little love. How could I keep you away for so long? What a fool I was," Zhongli hummed into your ear, making you moan with a quickened pace while his finger fucked your tight hole while his thumb played roughly with your bundle of nerves.
His pace led you to come hard, whimpering his name as your hips rose.
Zhongli removed his fingers and licked them, purring loudly as he tasted your sweet flavor. In between your legs, he growled, "Enough of these games."
After you calmed down, you noticed him removing the sheets covering him. His cock stood proud against his stomach. It was the same color as his limbs and was already leaking pre-cum. When he grabbed your hips and pushed his massive cock into your tight hole, you didn't have much time to react.
You could feel his warm breath on your shoulder as he leaned over. In an attempt to somehow manage the sudden pain of the stretch, you grabbed his horns tightly; it wasn't pleasant, but at the same time you wanted more.
His hips began to move as he chuckled, thrusting deep yet slowly. "Such a good girl. "You're taking me so well," he praised, pressing his clawed palm hard into your lower belly, making you whimper. "I'm gonna breed you, fill you up until you leak. I'm gonna make you mine."
"Please," you moaned, making him laugh at your eagerness.
He grabbed your hips hard enough that his claws dug into your soft skin, which likely left a mark tomorrow; his pace became strong and fast, reaching so deep, you could swear he was hitting your cervix with every thrust; your moans filled the room, followed by the noise of skin hitting skin.
He was just as close to you as you could tell from his growls and the way his teeth wandered along your neck and shoulder.
"I'll sign that contract," He muttered lowly before biting into the crock of your neck, certainly drawing blood as he filled you up to the brim with his hot, sticky cum.
Despite being stuffed full with it, you could feel it leaking out. When you felt this pleasant sensation, you pulled on the horns desperately, overwhelmed with relief.
"My little mate," Zhongli purred as his palm caressed your belly bulge. Pulling away, he smiled, "This will be your signature."
You were speechless; so much had happened that you couldn't speak. You couldn't be happier now, you were bound till the end. Now, all you wanted was to cuddle with your lower and rest. It wasn't going to happen any time soon for you, unfortunately.
Zhongli grabbed your waist and flipped you upside down. "There is no way that I will let you go, my love. I will continue to breed you until the wee hours of the morning."
So he did - he fucked you hard and fed you his cum all night without letting you rest.
Tumblr media
The next morning was difficult.
Somehow, your beloved decided to have some mercy on you, and let the two of you rest a little.
It was you who woke up first. There were scratches and bite marks all over your body. It was obvious that you wouldn't be able to walk today due to the ache between your legs.
When you tried to move, a warm tail fell over your waist. Zhongli's careful eyes observed you when you raised your head.
"It's good to see you awake," he nuzzled you, purring happily as his tail fully surrounded you.
"Did you miss me while I slept?" You nuzzled back to him, and the silent response came straight from him. His hard cock pressed against your belly, ready to fill you up again.
There was a reason for him to lock himself away for a few days.

⭐ Zhongli
To be frank, Zhongli is no stranger to the end of relationships.
Having lived through several millennia, Zhongli has watched many friends, enemies, and lovers come and go.
The moment he met you, he already knew you would someday be the same–such is the nature of mortality.
No matter how much he loved you, you would one day become yet another bittersweet memory–the type that makes his chest ache in the latest hours of the night while the rest of the harbor is sleeping.
Zhongli knew your departure from his life was inevitable…
But he didn’t expect to have to say goodbye so soon–let alone voluntarily.
“I love you, Zhongli. I really do but… we’re just too different. A former archon and a human just weren’t meant to be together. I’m sorry.”
Words he had never dreamed of fall from your lips easily. You had rehearsed it for a while.
He is internally distraught - his chest aches in a way he is not quite familiar with and, for once, he does not know what to say.
He politely lets you leave - says that he understands and expresses his desire to remain amicable if you will allow it but will keep his distance if that is what you prefer.
He will always be available to share some advice over a cup of tea or osmanthus wine if you should ever need it. The unwritten contract between the of you – the favor and support of a former archon – is unconditional.
You may find yourself shocked at how easily he lets you go –whether or not you are pleased by it depends on the nature of your true feelings.
Zhongli’s warm smiles and calming words will always remain, albeit now polite rather than intimate.
Outsiders who were unfamiliar with the nature of your previous relationship will not even notice the difference.
It is only a select few - Xiao, a few other adepti, and perhaps the funeral director – who see how the once smoldering embers in Zhongli’s steady gaze have been smothered.
It is only in the darkest hours of night, alone in his study, that Zhongli allows himself to wonder if his divinity is a blessing or a curse.
“It is unfortunate that our journey together must come to an end so soon. I have very much enjoyed our time together and appreciated the honor of witnessing your glory so closely. I will not burden you with my presence but… if you should ever need my assistance or desire my companionship, it is always yours.”
⭐ Xiao
Never in a thousand years would Xiao have imagined he would have someone to call his own.
After centuries of abuse–both inflicted upon him and from him - Xiao had sworn to never put himself in a position that vulnerable again. He will never let someone get close enough to hurt him or be hurt.
Nevertheless, you appeared in his life and shattered every expectation he had ever set.
Through sheer persistence, you smashed your way through his every wall and stole his heart as your own.
You had created an inseverable bond between you two…
...but now you wanted to sever it.
“I don’t think we can be together anymore, Xiao. You have a duty to protect Liyue and that is your top priority. You are tethered to this place. But I want to explore new places… and new people. I’m sorry, Xiao.”
His first reaction is anger, the type that flashed white hot in his gut and burns through his veins.
He did not seek you out – you were the one who forced your way into his life.
No matter how often he rejected you, how much he tried to avoid you, you had repeatedly interjected your way into his routine, bringing him plates of almond tofu and sharing stories of you adventure he had never asked about.
You created the habit for him. You made him expect your presence every day. You gave him new experiences and made him feel things he never knew possible. You made him love you in ways he had never imagined himself capable of–
–only to rip it all away.
He should have known he was not good enough - he was always just a weapon, a tool, wasn’t he? It is only natural that you would use him too–and that he would one day become useless.
He leaves without a word.
For you, it is almost as if you had imagined his whole existence.
He no longer waits for you atop Wangshu Inn. You no longer feel the sense of someone watching–protecting–you while you take commissions around Liyue.
The only indication you have that you had not dreamt the whole thing is the occasional story random citizens, claiming to have been saved from a lawachurl by a ghost with yellow eyes.
You think Xiao has forgotten your entire existence. He disappears from your life so easily.
But to Xiao, it is not easy at all.
His every thought is plagued by you to the point he wonders if you placed a curse upon him.
While the memory of you once eased his karmic debt, now it only seems to fuel it.
The voices taunt him, remind him of how worthless he is, even to his own lover.
You’re only a weapon of destruction – of course no one would want to be with you. You could never make anyone happy. You can only bring pain.
He suffers alone, brushing off the concern of the other adepti and even Zhongli when his karmic debt seems to get worse, his breakdowns more frequent and more intense than ever before/
It is only when you call his name - whether because you miss him or because you are in danger, than he will allow himself to see you again.
But even as he stands before you, he will not make eye contact.
Not because he does not want to see you but because he does not trust himself to act reasonably if he does.
“Even if the… nature of our relationship has changed, our bond still remains… what I mean is, if you are ever in danger, you should still call my name. I will always protect you...”
⭐ Tighnari
Um… this dude mates for life, how could you do this to him???
Similar to Xiao, he initially just gets kind of angry.
He told you how serious this is for him, how much relationships mean to fennec foxes.
He had asked you over and over again if you were sure before making your relationship official and you had assured him that you were. You said forever.
You had known each other for years before - you knew his personality and his habits. You knew being a forest watcher was his top priority and how long he spent on patrols - nothing has changed so why are your feelings changing?
“I’m sorry, Tighnari, I just… I don’t think I can live like this forever. Working in the forest together was a fun way to pass time but I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t want to be with you anymore.“
He tries to talk it through - he wants to be logical and compromise with you. He asks you to set boundaries and be specific about your needs so that he has the chance to try to meet them - he will do anything to make this work, you just need to tell him what you need.
But you insist there’s nothing he can do, and without a proper explanation, you leave him behind.
It is easy to fall back into old routines and habits. Even if his lover is gone, the forest never rests.
He goes back to his patrols and reports and lectures – everything is the same as before yet it all feels completely wrong.
The days he used to look forward to – eagerly learning more about the forest he loved and sharing his findings with other curious minds – now feel like little more than a waste of time.
His passion is gone, the once burning desires now doused and his mind is only plagued with memories of you.
Quiet moments late at night in his tent are the worst.
His bed feels uncharacteristically cold and empty without you in it. The calm night is much too quiet when your voice is not there to hum a tune you heard at the market.
“You’re being incredibly selfish right now – our relationship may be just a way to pass time for you but for me – it's all or nothing. There was no one before you and there will be no one after you. We made a commitment to each other and we need to stick it out. So tell me exactly what the problem is so we can work on it and fix it. Together. We have a whole lifetime to figure this out so don’t just give up on us so easily.”
⭐ Scaramouche
You have to be insane to leave this man - and not just ‘cause he is hot.
If you made it far enough for Scaramouche to let you into his heart, you already know his past. You know what has happened to him and how he feels about people leaving.
There is absolutely no way this will go well for either of you.
Once his heart is broken his immediate response is vengeance and retaliation.
If you think you are leaving him behind – betraying him like everyone else in his life – you have got another think coming.
“I’m serious, scaramouche. I don’t want this anymore. We’re just not meant for each other.”
“Ha– you think you have a choice? I must not have made myself clear – you are mine and you are not going anywhere without me.”
lol oops I made it yandere
While much less openly accommodating as Tighnari, Scaramouche is still willing to listen to your complaints and try to find a solution.
Although he’s possessive and a bit blinded by his own feelings, Scaramouche truly does love you and will do anything he can to make you happy–but only if you are happy with him.
If you physically leave, he will follow you. If you try to find someone else, he is not above getting rid of them.
Once you enter a relationship with Scaramouch, for as long as the two of you are alive, you will be with each other.
“Do you finally understand? Good. Taking care of those mortal men you wanted to hang around with was starting to become tedious."

Golden Hour
Pairings: Zhongli x Isekai'd!Reader
Summary: It's Zhongli's birthday, and you take him out to Liyue Harbor to celebrate it! You wake up before the golden hour to bake him a cupcake for his birthday, and you get your guts rearranged by Zhongli during the golden hour while the sun is setting. What a way to celebrate the former Geo archon's birthday.
Note: Because I am biased, I have decided to make Zhongli a birthday mini-fic that contains short smut at the end of the story. It's definitely not my best smut for sure because I am typing this at two in the morning with a forming headache 💀 Just a reminder that any [character] x isekai'd!Reader mini-fic is part of my ongoing Isekai'd!reader series and is usually around 5k words or less. These mini-fics are made so each man in the harem gets their own screen time with the reader; sometimes, some men will make an appearance, but not all the time. Every single one of my smuts, the reader is either a female!reader or an AFAB!reader, so please keep that in mind for future fics/smuts. Minors, DO NOT INTERACT! As usual, I don't post anywhere else but on Tumblr (Genshinluvr) and on AO3 (Aaliah_exo). Only registered users on AO3 will be able to view all of my published works (idk when it will be unlocked for everyone, I hope very soon).
Warnings: Horribly written smut towards the end of the story, marking, biting, Zhongli's got a dragon-sized cock. Are we surprised?
Word Count: 2.8k
It is six fifty-eight o’clock in the morning. Usually, around that time in the morning, you would still be in bed, fast asleep until around nine o’clock. But today is different, and here you are in the kitchen, wearing your pajamas with fluffy slippers. You’re steeping tea, and the window in the kitchen gives a nice view of the backyard of the estate. The sun slowly rising makes the abode shine gold; it’s the golden hour, the time you would miss while sleeping and during the late afternoon because you’re holed up in your house with the blinds closed.
*DING*
You jump and place your hand over your chest, feeling your heart racing against your ribcage. You turn to the small cupcake sitting on the cooling rack. You hover your hand above the cupcake to ensure it’s warm and not hot. You grab the cupcake and begin to decorate it with frosting. After decorating the cupcake, you grab a tiny candle and stick it halfway into the cupcake. You search around for a match to light the candle.
After successfully lighting up the candle, you turn to the steeping tea and take the teabag out from the ceramic teacup. You toss the teabag into the trash bin and turn around to grab the teacup and cupcake before walking towards the entrance of the kitchen. You stop in your tracks when you see the door open and the person stepping into the kitchen.
Zhongli looks at you, surprised, and his eyes quickly land on the teacup and cupcake in your hands. While Zhongli is staring at the cupcake intently, you’re staring at him like a fish out of water with your mouth agape while trying to come up with something to say.
“You’re up early,” Zhongli says, looking over at the clock above the kitchen window. “You’ve never been up this early before unless it’s for school.” he raises his eyebrows at you.
You smile at him sheepishly. “Well, I am awake early today because it’s a special day,” you said.
You watch Zhongli approach you, closing the distance between you two and standing before you. No matter how tall you are, Zhongli always towers over you. He looks down at you and then at the items in your hands.
Zhongli strokes his chin. “A special day, you say?” Zhongli asks, gazing down at you curiously.
You nod and smile up at him. “It’s your birthday, Zhongli! Did you forget?” You ask.
“How does one forget an important day?” He smiles back at you, brushes your hair away from your face, and tucks them behind your ears. “Is that for me?” Zhongli asks, pointing down at the cupcake and teacup in your hands.
“Yes! They are for you! I got up early in the morning to bake some cupcakes for your birthday and decided to steep some tea for you before you woke up,” you said, placing the teacup down on the counter beside you.
Holding the cupcake up between you and Zhongli, you clear your throat awkwardly. How in the world are you going to do this without screwing up? You take a deep breath and begin singing happy birthday to Zhongli in Liyuen. You spent a few weeks (maybe almost a month) learning Liyuen just to be able to sing happy birthday to him with the help of Yunjin and Ningguang.
After finishing the song, you hand Zhongli the cupcake and watch him lift it to his face. Zhongli stares at the cupcake and then looks at you; the flickering flames of the candle make his amber eyes illuminate. Zhongli has always been a handsome man; whenever he looks at you, you feel breathless.
“When did you learn how to sing in Liyuen?” Zhongli asks.
You feel your face heat up and rub the back of your neck. “For a few weeks now, perhaps almost a month. Yunjin and Ningguang helped me learn, and who knew they’re such strict teachers,” you chuckle.
Zhongli smiles and caresses your cheek with his right hand while holding onto the cupcake with his other hand. “You did well,” Zhongli murmurs, stroking your cheek with his thumb.
You place your hand over Zhongli’s right hand. “Make a wish,” you whisper, smiling up at Zhongli.
Zhongli pulls his hand away from your face and clutches the cupcake with both hands. Zhongli then closes his eyes for a moment, and you watch him make a wish with anticipation. You wonder what Zhongli’s wish is about. Whatever Zhongli's wish is about, you hope that it’ll come true for him. Zhongli opens his eyes and blows out the candle. You cheer softly and clap your hands.
“I hope your schedule is clear today because I am going to be taking you out for your birthday! Just you and me!” You said.
“Oh? Is this a birthday treat for me?” Zhongli asks, taking the candle out from the cupcake and placing it on the counter before taking a small bite.
“That’s correct! You can continue eating the cupcake and drink up your tea. I will be changing my clothes and getting ready for the day!” You said.
You stand on your tippy toes and press a kiss on Zhongli’s jaws before walking out of the kitchen. After about ten minutes of changing your clothes, brushing your teeth, combing your hair, and putting on deodorant, you finally leave your bedroom and descend the stairs. Zhongli’s eyes nearly pop out of their sockets when he sees you wearing traditional Liyuen clothes. Heat rushes to Zhongli’s cheeks as you walk closer to Zhongli and stop in front of him.
“Ready to go?” You ask, grabbing onto Zhongli’s hands and squeezing them lightly.
Zhongli smiles and nods his head, clearing his throat to make sure he doesn’t stumble over his words. “Lead the way, dearest,” Zhongli says.
You hold Zhongli’s hands and exit the estate with Zhongli by your side. The first place you decide to take Zhongli is Third-Round Knockout for breakfast. The both of you listen to Iron Tongue Tian tell a story about Ningguang while you and Zhongli ate delicious Liyuen dishes. You turn to look at Zhongli and notice sauce at the corner of his lips. You stifle your giggle and reach for the cloth napkin and pat his arm lightly.
Zhongli turns to look at you, and you wipe the corner of his lips with the cloth napkin. Zhongli’s eyes widen slightly, his cheeks turning bright red. Zhongli clears his throat and smiles at you shyly while you laugh under your breath and rest your head on his shoulders, squeezing his biceps lightly. How can a god be as cute as he is?
While listening to Iron Tongue Tian continue his story about Ningguang, you look up at Zhongli and make eye contact with the former Geo archon. Now it’s your turn to feel shy; you sit up and quickly look away, face almost as hot as the sun beaming down on the two of you. You reach for the teacup and take a sip nervously, feeling your hands tremble. Zhongli chuckles and wipes the tiny droplet of tea from the corner of your lips.
After breakfast at Third-Round Knockout, you and Zhongli take a stroll at Liyue Harbor while Zhongli tells you stories about his archon days. You walk beside Zhongli with your arm linked around his, your left side pressing against his right side. You two end up stopping in front of Jade Mystery after a certain gem catches Zhongli’s attention, making him stop his story short.
“You’re not going to be spending mora, are you?” You ask, looking up at your beloved boyfriend with your eyes narrowing.
Zhongli continues to look at the jade laid out on the yellow, blue, white and red cloths. “I am not spending any mora; I am just getting a closer look at the jades on the table,” Zhongli says. You can see the bottom of his lip slightly jutting out cutely.
You prop your hands on your hips and give Zhongli a skeptical look. “Oh? Is that so, my love?” You ask, pressing your lips into thin lines while staring at him suspiciously.
“That is correct,” Zhongli nods his head.
He walks up to Shitou and begins conversing with the boss of Jade Mystery while you stand in front of the table and look at every slab of jade. You stroke your chin and drown out the sounds of Zhongli and Shitou’s conversation about jade.
“Wonderful! That will be one thousand mora for the Noctilucous Jade!” You hear Shitou exclaim happily.
Your eyes widen, and you turn to look at Zhongli and Shitou, only to see Shitou talking to another customer. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion before turning to search for Zhongli. You nearly bump into his chest when you turn to the left; you look up at Zhongli and sigh in relief, letting yourself lean against his chest.
“What, did you think I was the customer?” Zhongli teases you while pinching your cheeks.
You nod your head. “Yes,” you breathe. “But I’m glad that you’re not the one that’s spending a thousand mora on Noctilucous Jade,” you said.
You didn’t want Zhongli to spend a single mora on his birthday because, well, you’re the one that’s spoiling him for his birthday! For lunch, you and Zhongli stop by Liuli Pavilion. As usual, the food is divine, and you and Zhongli have idle chats while eating lunch and sipping teas.
“This is spicy,” you mutter, poking the dish in front of you.
Your lips feel like they’re on fire, but you can’t stop eating them because they’re so delicious. Zhongli looks at you worriedly; his eyes zeroed in on your lips in particular. You sniffle and wipe your nose on a napkin, fanning yourself with your hand.
“Your lips are swollen, dearest,” Zhongli frowns, placing his chopsticks down on the ceramic plate before gesturing for the host to come over to the table. “If you’d like, I can ask the host to grab you a cup of cold water,” Zhongli offers.
You nod. “Yes, please,” you said.
The host gives you a cup of cold water, and you almost immediately down the water once the host places the cup in front of you. When the cold water touches the inside of your burning mouth, you nearly sob from relief. You set the now empty cup down on the table and lean back in your seat, sighing in relief.
“I think it's best for you to stop eating the spicy dishes,” Zhongli says, pushing the plate away from you. “Mayhaps you would like to try out the dumplings instead?” Zhongli suggests, grabbing a chunky dumpling from the container and placing it on yours.
“Yeah, I’ll try out the dumplings,” you breathed.
You’re about to grab the dumpling with your chopsticks when the sun shines through the windows, catching your eyes. You pause and look up, only to notice that the sun is beginning to set already. Wait, what? You look up at the clock, eyes wide. How long have you and Zhongli been eating at Liuli Pavilion?
“How long have we been here for? I could’ve sworn we had just arrived at Liuli Pavilion not too long ago,” you said, looking over at Zhongli.
“Well, in case you haven’t noticed, we did have a few rounds of food,” Zhongli gestures to the table.
On the table are a bunch of empty plates and bowls stacked on top of each other. In front of you and Zhongli are new main dishes and side dishes waiting to be eaten. You jolt back and blink, looking at the table and at Zhongli with an incredulous look on your face. Zhongli chuckles and sips from the ceramic teacup.
“Wow, time went by so fast, I didn’t even notice,” you said, shoving an entire dumpling into your mouth and beginning to chew on the delicious dumpling.
Zhongli sighs and gives you an endearing smile. “Dearest, please don’t stuff an entire dumpling into your mouth. You’re going to choke,” Zhongli chides.
It took you a while to chew and swallow the entire dumpling in your mouth. Once you consume the dumpling, you reach for your warm teacup. “Zhongli, honey, that’s not the only thing I’ll be choking on tonight,” you said calmly while sipping your tea.
Zhongli gives you a questioning look. “Pardon?” Zhongli asks.
You shake your head. “Nothing, forget what I said,” you wave off Zhongli’s question.
After wrapping up your and Zhongli’s lunch (and dinner because, apparently, the two of you had more than three rounds of food at Liuli Pavilion), the two of you leave the restaurant, and the sun is now starting to set. It’s the golden hour. You and Zhongli lean against the wooden railing at the Harbor, staring out to the waters.
“I’m not sure if we have time to go back to the abode. Would you be okay with spending the night in Liyue?” Zhongli asks, wrapping his arms around your waist.
You lean your head on Zhongli’s chest and nod your head. “Of course I am! As long as I’m with you, I’m content,” you said softly.
Zhongli kisses the side of your head and leads you to the nearest hotel in Liyue Harbor. Once the two of you get your room number, the key to your hotel room, and some privacy, everything becomes a blur for you two. The last thing you remembered was Zhongli pinning you against the door, marking up your neck with love bites.
“Oh, fuck! Zhongli!” You whine, clawing at his back as he plunges his cock into your sopping wet heat.
Zhongli buries his face into your neck and growls, his nails digging into your waist. Zhongli tangles his fingers into your hair and tilts your face up. You look up at Zhongli and press your lips against his. Zhongli ravages your lips hungrily, his canines nipping at your lips, your teeth clashing with his.
Zhongli grinds and ruts his cock in and out of your entrance, grabbing and squeezing your chest. Your legs tremble around Zhongli’s waist; Zhongli sucks on your tongue and presses his body up against yours, the tip of his cock kissing your cervix. You let out a choked gasp in Zhongli’s mouth, pulling away from the man above you.
“Zhongli, I don’t think I can last any longer,” You whine, clenching your jaws as you near your end.
Zhongli chuckles. “Already? But we’re just getting started, dearest,” Zhongli purrs. He continues to hammer his thick, long cock in and out of your tight hole.
“Just getting started?! It’s the evening!” You panted, digging your nails into Zhongli’s biceps.
Zhongli stops and looks out the window, the golden sunshine illuminating the bedroom and your naked body. Zhongli leans down and latches his lips onto one of your erect nipples, sucking and lapping at it.
“Dearest, the sun has yet to set. It’s still the golden hour,” Zhongli chuckles; he continues to lap at your erect nipples, making you shiver below him.
You stare up at the man above you and look between the cracks of the curtains. Zhongli is indeed correct. Between the time you and Zhongli checked into a hotel and now, only an hour has gone by. You look up at Zhongli with your mouth agape.
Zhongli lets out a laugh and slams his dick deeper into you, burying his cock as deep as he can. You wailed and writhed beneath Zhongli, your legs flailing the deeper he buried his cock inside of you. Zhongli growls and buries his face between your neck and shoulders, biting down on your neck hard.
“Ow! Zhongli!” You squeal, clawing Zhongli’s back, leaving a trail of angry red marks on his back. Zhongli presses the bulbous tip of his cock against your cervix, feeling your walls pulsing around his cock each time he thrusts into you. Zhongli pulls away from your neck and licks up your blood, his amber eyes glowing and horns sprouting from his head. You notice Zhongli’s arms have also changed. From his mid-shoulders to his fingertips, there is an ombre of black leading to gold. You lift Zhongli’s arms to your face and stare at them in awe.
“They’re glowing,” you whisper, unaware of the glowing symbol on your lower abdomen close to your right hipbone.
Zhongli wraps his arms around your waist, pistoning his cock repeatedly. You bury your face into Zhongli’s chest, a string of soft whimpers and moans coming from your mouth each time you feel Zhongli slide into you. You rock your hips against Zhongli’s hips, rubbing your aching, swollen nub against his pubic bone, sending shockwaves of pleasure down your spine.
“Oh, fuck,” you let out a shaky whisper, feeling a knot beginning to form in your lower stomach. You tap on Zhongli’s arms weakly. “Zhongli, I don’t think I can last any longer,” you gasp, melting in Zhongli’s arms.
Zhongli tilts your head to the side and starts leaving hickeys behind on your neck, shoulders, and collarbone. “We have all night, dearest,” Zhongli whispers. Zhongli nibbles on your earlobe and squeezes the globes of your ass, burying his cock inside of you. “After all, it’s only the golden hour. We have plenty of time,” Zhongli purrs into your ears.
Note: Definitely not my best smut for sure. I really hope that my future Zhongli smut will be better because I do have a Zhongli smut idea in mind since early April of 2022, but I never got the chance to type it out because I kept changing the idea 🥲 Maybe it'll be published sometime in 2023; not entirely sure when, but hopefully soon. A SERENADE OF DEVOTED EARTH ෆ 09:46
⠀ this is part one of my series & if you’re looking for the rest/masterlist, just click the link above <3
Tumblr media
there is little to do.
you are only nine years of age, and somehow, you’ve run out of things to do. your nanny, of whom you’re currently in the process of getting fired because she said that you were a woman and women ‘didn’t get themselves dirty, that’s a boy’s job’, has lost you again for the third time today, already, and the sun has just barely finished it’s rising cycle. you love being easily lost.
your father had told you that you had to be around in the early light of the day, as there was an important meeting you needed to be around for. you’re not sure how it can be important and include you—you can hardly even go anywhere in the manor without needing supervision.
you’d heard talk around the castle of the arrival of someone important—more namely, the arrival of a young boy that you’d be meant to marry. your parents are married and they hardly even seem to like each other, most days. you think that being married means a general dislike of each other, but you’re not really sure. you’ll have to ask the nanny when she finds you again (if she finds you again).
most of the time, to avoid being in the general discomfort that is the unnerving attention from either parent, you spend your hours wiling away in the gardens.
you love the outdoors, much to your mother’s dismay. she had hoped you would take a finer interest in mastering the pianoforte or even sewing—a womanly skill indeed—and while you had skill in those activities, a love for them you lacked. they did not interest you, not the way the outdoors did.
there was just so much more to do—climbing trees, digging holes, scavenging rocks, and even just enjoying the sounds of the fauna and flora. oftentimes, you would sit on a rock near the castle’s pond, and just observe. you’d found that there was so much life, if one just looked and listened for it. no one to rush around and tell what to do, no nannies that didn’t know you any better than your own parents did.
life is easy, outside.
climbing a tree, for example, is just a series of knowing where to put your hands and your feet so you don’t fall. some branches might look like they’d be good to hold your weight, but you must tug and pull on them first, to test that they are sturdy. just as people are, they can seem good on the outside, and really be rotting on the inside and let you down, where you’d tumble to the ground and break a bone. not that you were speaking from experience.
you pull yourself onto a large offshoot of a tree branch, something you think a squirrel or perhaps very large owl might want to perch on, and you look below you.
you very nearly startle yourself off of the branch at the sight of a young boy standing beneath the tree, looking up at you with an inquisitive look.
“how did you do that so quickly?” his words are soft and the wind is brushing his hair across his forehead and you seem to have lost the memory of how to breathe.
even from where you are perched on your tree branch, you can tell he stands at least a few inches taller than you, if not a half-foot taller. his eyes seem to glisten in the early morning light, a dark amber color that seemed to cut through to your soul. they looked as though they were pools filled of the warmest, softest maple syrup and honey—sickly sweet.
you’ve never really looked at anyone the way you’re looking at this stranger before you—you’ve never had a reason to. however, this little boy is soul-crushingly, heart-achingly pretty and you can feel a seed of jealousy, of wanting him and wanting to be him. you bet his parents love him effortlessly. he seems the type to be good at anything he touches, to wake up and have his hair be ready for the day without even the touch of a brush.
your face twists, each emotion playing across your features in quick succession; your father had once said you lacked the skill of hiding your emotions. “i’m just that good at it.” you settle yourself against the tree’s leaves, hoping they will provide a sense of comfort and mysteriousness.
“it’s impressive.” the compliment sends a pleasing sense of shivers down your spine; your parents were loathe to praise skills that they had determined had no real-world use. you’d fought hard for them to be proud of you, and sometimes, despite all you’d done, you fell short.
you try to turn your head away so he can’t see your smile, but the way his cheeks start to turn rosy mirrors your own.
“thanks.” you puff a strand of hair away from your face, turning your attention back to the young boy. “who are you? i live here and i don’t think i’ve ever seen you before.”
“i’m zhongli of house morax.” he straightens his back, as if remembering he has to be dignified in your home. he, then, counteracts his poise by giving you a lopsided smile—some of his teeth are crooked and it makes your heart flutter. “i’m here ‘cause i’m supposed to be meeting the daughter of the lord here. she wasn’t ready, though, so my dad told me to walk the gardens while i waited.”
you blanch. this was the boy you were meant to marry?
his face is soft, his skin a pale cream color that his dark brown hair seems to make even paler. he’s a bit scrawny, lean and tall, moreso than bulky and stocky. you hadn’t known what to think of the son of the house of morax, but he seems kind.
kindness was something you valued in your friends, and maybe things wouldn’t be so bad if you were to marry him. though, did marrying him mean you’d have to dislike him? you don’t know if it would be possible to dislike a face so sweet looking.
“well,” you started, picking at a piece of tree bark, “i’m the daughter of the lord of this house. so i guess, you’ve met her, anyways.”
his smile brightens minutely, hands lacing behind his back. “it’s lovely to meet you.”
being the sole reason for and sole recipient of his smile makes warmth gain in your cheeks, “y-yeah. nice to meet you, too.”
“my lady!” you jerk your head towards the balcony that overlooks the gardens, a few hundred feet away, at the sound of your nanny’s shrill yell. “how many times have i told you to stop running away!”
from below you, zhongli laughs. it draws your attention and you think you’d be magnetized to his laugh no matter what. “i think you’d better get down, to save your poor nanny from suffering an aneurysm.”
you harumph, slowing starting to make your way down the tree. “i’m getting down, but only because i want to. i don’t even know what an aneurysm is.”
his eyes twinkle as he responds. “i don’t either. i read it in a book once.”
the two of you share a small smile as your feet are firmly planted on the ground again, zhongli helping you down with an outstretched hand. with a gentle hand, he brushes a green leaf from your hair.
“will i see you again?” you ask softly, looking up at him now and confirming the fact that he is taller than you, if only by a few inches.
he contemplates, moving towards the balcony. “i hope so. i’d enjoy seeing you again.”
“i would, too.”
your nanny snatches you, then, scolding you on running off on your own and reprimanding you for climbing trees again—as you’d been told last time that there would be absolutely no more of that!—but you’re not paying attention to her. instead, you’re watching zhongli, who is happily talking with his parents and nodding sagely at whatever his father’s advisor says to him next.
turning back to your father, who’d descended the steps next to you, you just happen to miss zhongli’s gaze falling onto you.
perhaps marriage isn’t supposed to be completely unhappy.

Lonely Rite
A/N: this is my first time posting my writing on tumblr despite posting on ao3 a bit recently so i wanted to start cross posting my stuff in case anybody here wants to read it too thanks for stoppin by ;)
Summary: She can’t sleep while her husband is away on a two-week business trip. so she turns to the next best thing, even if it is ten feet taller than her and made of stone.
Warnings: None! it’s fluff, and i don’t think there’s any language (if there is it’s super mild), and there’s one teeny itty bitty suggestive line at the end but it is so so mild i swear
Pairings: Zhongli/Reader, Hu Tao and Childe as pals along the way
The driving rain was her only warmth, though it slowly chilled her the longer the evening drew on. It was impractical to risk exposure to the element, but all practicality had dwindled over the past two weeks like a waning flame that finally evaporated into smoke when she had first stepped into the storm.
For two weeks, she had fought to find interest anywhere other than the nagging thoughts in her brain, seeking company from just about anyone who would humor her for even a moment. She was not usually one to stop to converse with street-side merchants for no reason but friendly chitchat-- that was more her husband’s domain, after all-- but everyone from the perfume seller to the old kite-maker to the shaky fishmonger by the docks had entertained her insatiable need to kill time.
She was running out of topics of conversation. The weather could only get her so far, and she was loath to discuss the death of Rex Lapis, given that she was not good at keeping secrets.
When she failed to sleep for the nth time since her husband’s departure, she grew sick of her ordeal, sick of the inside of her house, and sick of the empty bed that was far too big for her alone. She knew precisely where she was headed when she opened her front door, and even the bite of the stinging rain could stop her from completing her mission. It was, undoubtedly, a drastic measure, but she had put up far too long with drastic times.
Two weeks prior.
“I will not be away long, dearest,” her husband promised, though his own eyes were laced with a distinct sorrow that even his unending wisdom could not mask. “I will write when I can. Will you write to me, as well?”
“If I don’t, will you come home sooner?”
He laughed. She would miss the sound.
“I will return as soon as my job is complete.”
“And you’re sure I can’t come with you?”
“I fear your boss at the book house would not appreciate your sudden departure,” he argued, frustratingly practical to the extent that it made her pout. It wasn’t fair that he always made such good points. She deserved to be impractical every now and again, but her husband always made far too much sense. “And I could hardly put you in such danger. I fear that the days ahead will be harsh. You should not be subjected to such hostilities.”
“And you should?”
“I have survived far worse.”
“Yes, but you can’t exactly hurl mountainsides anymore, can you?” She muttered under her breath, folding her arms like a cross child, if only so that he would dote upon her.
“While it is true that I cannot control the earth as I could in my youth, you underestimate my resolve. I am no feeble old man, my love. I will return to you safely, as I always have, as I always will.”
Eventually, she had been convinced, though hardly happy about it. She may have been a lowly bookstore clerk with a penchant for adventure novels, but she was also a seasoned adventurer herself. Who better to judge such subject matter than one who has experienced it firsthand?
Y/n could have easily boarded the boat with her husband and traveled to Inazuma to fulfill whatever harebrained request had been made of him. Why some random Inazuman citizen had any authority to commission a funeral parlor consultant from Liyue, she did not know, but if she ever met the doushin who had sent for her husband to cross the sea under such treacherous conditions, she would not be kind.
But despite her dramatics, she woke up the next day, rubbed her eyes of sleep all by herself, made tea all by herself, and made the walk to work all by herself, feeling all the while that the sun was a little dimmer without her companion to help guide her step.
She felt desperate. She felt pathetic, like some poor little lost puppy, following her husband around and giving him big moony eyes every time he so much as cleared his throat to speak, but before she had met him, she had been lonely for some time. She was quiet by nature, and when she had packed her life up and moved to Liyue on a whim, it hadn’t been long before she realized that her only friends were coworkers and books.
Meeting him amongst the shelves was a dream, and falling in love with him was a fresh adventure every day.
As she stepped behind the desk at the Wanwen Bookhouse, she remembered exactly where he had stood when she had first met him.
She didn’t want to bother him—most who wandered onto the top level of Wanwen Bookhouse enjoyed the quiet. The Liyue sun was good to them, pleasantly wandering across the spines of books but not so harsh that it bore down on the patrons as they leisurely paced through the shelves. She tended to let her visitors experience the shop at their own pace until they signaled a need of her.
This man, however, looked so remarkably pensive that she could not help but ask. His one hand pressed lightly to his chin and the other tucked behind his back, the only part of him that proved him not to be an elegant statue was his hair, bristling at the ends as the wind flitted through the pages around him.
“Can I help you find something today?” she asked him, approaching as though opening her hand toward a timid animal. “You look awfully deep in thought.”
He took his time responding, but his kind smile was enough to assure her that she had not overstepped. When he did speak, his voice, sturdy as stone and smooth like honey, warmed her.
“I am glad you asked. If I might take a moment of your time, I have several questions regarding this series.”
“I’d be happy to answer, sir.”
He took a single book into his gloved hands, cradling it gently yet weighing it as though assessing its contents through feel alone, as if it would somehow whisper to him the precise questions he ought to ask of her. She took his brief distraction to watch him unabashedly. The people of Liyue were pretty, certainly, but this man had eyes made of precious stone a face of ageless beauty. The way he carried himself alone was enough to make her feel only two inches tall, but the ease with which he spoke to her and the care of his words calmed her.
“I am curious about the author. Zhang Jianning is a name I have yet to encounter. Do you know of his history?”
She nodded, a quiet smile rising on her face. Thankfully, the man had asked her about a beloved adventure series, one which she was immensely fond of. If there was any single employee at the Wanwen Bookhouse who could best answer his questions, it was her.
“Zhang Jianning is actually a pen name. Call of the Ocean Void was actually written by a woman, who used the name of her husband so that she could publish her works.”
“Fascinating,” he replied, and she sensed that he meant it. Sometimes, a customer would ask her for a recommendation, and she would get overexcited at the prospect and accidentally bore the patron into pitying her, nodding along though they had stopped caring long ago. It wasn’t often, after all, that she got to talk to people about a subject she loved so dearly, so when someone asked a question, she really let herself go.
“Her name was actually Zhang Ting, and her work was revolutionary at the time. The genre was flooded with a whole lot of men telling the same stories, and when Ting published the first book of her series, it was an instant success. She revealed her true name when she finished the last installment of the series, and then published everything afterwards under her own name. But instead of changing newly published editions of Call of the Ocean Void, she kept them under her husband’s name as thanks to him.”
“That is a wonderful tale,” the man complimented her, and she flushed at the praise. It wasn’t every day that she had tall, handsome men praising her for her ability to ramble about her favorite books. “Do you enjoy this series yourself?”
“Me?”
“Yes. You are obviously quite interested in its history. Do you enjoy the content, as well?”
“It’s one of my favorites,” she explained as her fingers brushed across the book spines, coming to rest on one particular novel. “The fourth book is my favorite. It’s—well, I won’t tell you, in case you decide you’d like to read it. Do you like adventure novels?”
“I often find myself consuming solely non-fictional accounts and entirely neglecting fiction, but I have recently become quite appreciative of the thrill of adventure.”
Y/n had helped him purchase the book, and within a few days, he had returned for the next book in the series. By the fourth book, he decided that he would buy all of them at once, and she, though pleased by the idea that she had sparked his interest in a beloved series, lamented that she would no longer be encountering the man who was turning out to be her favorite customer.
As she carefully jotted down the details of his newest purchase for her records, he cleared his throat, and for the first time, she witnessed a slight discomfort in his stance.
“Miss Y/n, I wonder if you have ever taken the time to listen to the local storytellers? I find that Tian is quite skilled in his art.”
“Mr. Tian is the storyteller at Third-Round Knockout, right? I haven’t had the pleasure.”
“Then, perhaps you would be interested in accompanying me tomorrow evening.”
“To… to listen to the storyteller?”
“Yes, if you would like. If you have other matters to attend, I understand.”
“No, I would like that.”
Y/n sighed sweetly at the memory, cursing her past self for being so oblivious and so cowardly. If she had accepted that their first trip to the storyteller had been their first date, then perhaps they could have moved on with the whole relationship with considerably more efficiency than they did, dawdling and pining for at least a year.
Despite the memories that lived amongst all of the shelves, she completed her job as efficiently as she could without daydreaming.
Eleven Days Prior.
Several days later, and she was desperate enough to wander into the halls of the Northland Bank, seeking the company of the man who had attempted to drown the entire city with her inside it, and yet, somehow became a friend to both her and her husband. Tartaglia, if rumor was to be believed, had killed her husband, but she only rolled her eyes at such tall tales. The bloodthirsty Eleventh Harbinger would never kill without a proper fight, and despite his grandstanding, a row with Morax was not a fight Tartaglia could reasonably win.
“I’m here to see Childe,” she muttered to the baffled attendant behind the counter. Usually when she made visits to the Northland Bank, she was accompanied by her husband, whose stately presence made up for the fact that the two of them were seemingly nobodies come to call on a high and mighty harbinger. Now all by herself, she was just a shy little civilian who no doubt appeared visibly unnerved by the hollow and clean halls of the bank.
“Lord Tartaglia does not take meetings without an appointment,” came the steady reply. The guards eyed her warily. “What is your name?”
“Y/n. I don’t have an appointment, though.”
“Then I’m afraid you will have to return once you have made the appropriate preparations.”
“Oh. Sorry, then, I—”
“Y/n! There you are, comrade.” If the voice wasn’t unmistakable, the fiery head of hair that bobbed down the stairs was a clear tell from a mile away. As soon as his boots hit the expensive marble floor, all heads in the room bowed in reverence. Y/n felt a swell of pride in her chest. “Don’t tell me that Levin was giving you a hard time.”
“He was just making sure I wasn’t coming to assassinate you, I suppose.”
“And? Are you?”
“Don’t sound so excited about it, Childe. I’m a decent adventurer, but I would be far too easy of a fight for you.”
“Yes, I fear that you would be,” he uttered, though his voice was still riddled with the humor that made his threats so chilling—the ease with which he spoke of conquest and battle, followed by a cheery laugh, made talking with him unnerving at times. It was only because he was a dazzling conversationalist and a loyal friend that she and her husband were able to skillfully repress Tartaglia’s rocky past.
“So why do you still look like you want to try it?”
“Ah, because after I’ve successfully gotten you out of the way, then your lover would have no choice but to fight me. Where is Mr. Zhongli, by the way? I’m surprised he’s left you to roam the streets alone.”
Her face scrunched so pitifully that Childe nearly laughed, had it not been for the unutterable sadness that filled her eyes.
“He’s in Inazuma,” she whined, trekking with heavy step up the stairs behind him. “Some stupid doushin asked for his expertise on a case or something.”
“Inazuma. That’s awfully far. How long will he be gone?”
“Two weeks.”
“Aw, poor little thing. You look like someone’s knocked the wind right out of your sails. But, if you’re lonely, we could always go outside the city and find some treasure hoarders to knock around a bit.”
She pondered the idea longer than she was proud of.
“Ask again in a few days,” she finally sighed. “I might get bored enough to take you up on that.”
One Week Prior.
She had, several days later, taken up Tartaglia on his offer to go adventuring, and even though he had been more than happy to take care of any enemy that passed their way, y/n still ended up aching in the joints and riddled with little cuts and bruises all over every inch of skin that had been exposed during their journey.
So, she hobbled up the long and arduous path to Bubu Pharmacy, praying to all the archons that the tall stairs would miraculously shorten to make her journey less painful.
“How am I supposed to pray to Rex Lapis for the earth to bend to my will,” she muttered bitterly as she heaved another step upward, “when he’s out of town on a business trip?”
“Good afternoon, y/n! You’re looking a little worse for wear. Might I inquire as to why you’re so beaten up?”
Hu Tao skidded to a halt beside her, and somewhere, Qiqi let out a relieved sigh that the director had been momentarily sidetracked by another potential client.
“I went out adventuring yesterday, to pass the time.”
“To pass the time, or to pass away? You know, I have been designing an attractive pair of couple’s coffins for you and Mr. Zhongli, but if you go ahead and die now, you’ll get a significant discount.”
“I don’t plan on dying right now, but thank you,” y/n muttered, somewhat gratefully. She had been quite sure at the bottom of the stairs that she would survive to the top, but somewhere around the middle, her faith in herself wavered.
“Let me know if you change your mind. Have you heard from Mr. Zhongli since he’s been gone?”
“Mm, he sent me a couple letters. The weather’s been rough in Inazuma lately. Apparently, their stormy season is particularly trying.”
Y/n grimaced as she recalled her husband’s wording, and the way she knew he was masking some of the peril he had experienced. No doubt, he was trying his best to keep her from worrying so much that she hopped on the next boat out of town and tried to fight the Raiden Shogun in his honor.
My dearest y/n,
I write to inform you that I have safely landed in Inazuma’s port at Ritou. The maple trees are rich with color, and the air is clean, when the storms have subsided. Ritou is lined with quaint little markets, and I have found the time to pick up a few souvenirs you will no doubt find interesting.
I did remember my wallet, this time.
The famed Yae Publishing House is my next prospect, and I intend to visit as soon as I have reasonable time. Perhaps if I find a suitable novel, I can read it aloud to you when I return. Though, I miss your voice so much I may request that you read it aloud to me, at least for a night. I could never fully give up the sight of you curled up at my side, dozing off to sleep at the sound of my voice.
I hope you are faring well in my absence. I know how reluctant you were to leave me by the docks, and it pained me just as much to watch as you faded into the distance. I could see the tears in your eyes, and my heart begged me to beseech the captain to turn the boat around just so that I could comfort you.
I digress—I do not wish to make you feel lonely.
Inazuma is a beautiful nation, despite its weather becoming volatile at times. There is no need to worry, however, as my lodging during my journey provides me a sturdy roof. I doubt, as well, that this nation’s archon would be so quick to strike me down with her lightning.
Rest assured that the Shogun’s thunder is a terror I have survived many a time.
I hope to bring you here someday, during a season in which the weather is far more temperate. The Sakura trees surrounding the Grand Narukami Shrine are loveliest at the peak of their blooms, and I believe you would enjoy the long and winding walk to the mountain’s peak. The pathway is paved with stone, and the red of the wooden terraces is rich against the pale blue of the sky.
Nothing compares, however, to the way you shine under the Liyue sun. I hope the sun shines on the day I return to you, darling, but even if it does not, I will be equally overjoyed to see you.
                                                                                   All my love,
                                                                                               Zhongli
Y/n hoped that Hu Tao couldn’t read the way her lip barely trembled at the thought of the poetic letter. She wished, after all the beautiful books she had read, of all the brilliant and descriptive words she knew, that she could write nearly as well as Zhongli. He always went on about how he loved the way her words sounded on her tongue or on the page, but she knew that she was hardly impressive compared to him.
She swooned when he so much as asked her to pass the sugar bowl.
Hu Tao, despite having offered y/n a comfortable means of transport to the afterlife, helped her up the stairs until Dr. Baizhu could properly prescribe a salve that would hopefully heal all of her wounds by the time her husband arrived, though she wasn’t opposed to the idea of her beloved doting on her as he cooed at how pitiful her wounds looked.
Perhaps she would skip a few applications and let Zhongli give her a massage, for good measure.
Four Days Prior.
She stared down the incense burner with an intense passion, as though lighting the embers with her very eyes. Of course, she could write letters to her husband, but it wasn’t fast enough. It wasn’t nearly as comforting as talking to him in person, and even though he wasn’t nearly as involved in Liyue’s affairs as before, he was still at least semi-divine, so she was willing to stake her chances that he might hear her should she direct all her wishes to Rex Lapis’s little effigy that sat atop the stone burner instead of waiting for Zhongli to reply.
She spoke to him with little regard for the other supplicants milling about the terrace—if anyone should hear her, they would likely think her some enthusiast of the former Geo Archon, mourning his loss and pining for his return.
“I miss you,” she spoke as the fragrance began warming the air around her. “I don’t know if you can hear me, but I miss you so much it hurts.”
Waiting on a sign was silly, but she still hoped beyond hope that the smoke might give her some kind of signal. When nothing happened, she addressed him again, this time listing all of the names she could remember, just in case. The earth might not respond to Zhongli, but it would certainly recognize Morax.
“Zhongli. Rex Lapis. Lord of Geo. Morax. If you can hear me, you should say something now so I don’t look like a buffoon talking to a dead god.”
It could have been her eyes playing tricks on her—her sleep schedule had been wretched in her husband’s absence—but the smoke gave a slight hitch to the left as it rose.
“Yes, I know you’re not actually dead, but no one else knows that. What’s the point of marrying a former god if he can’t hear you when you pray to him?”
She sighed, sitting down on the sun-soaked pavement with her legs crossed.
“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be snippy. I just forgot how lonely I was before I met you. Now that we spend so much time with each other, it’s hard to be away from you for this long without going mad. I’m starting to doubt that you can hear me at this point, but if you can, please try to cut your trip short. I don’t know if I’ll last four more days.”
For the next hour, she sat in the sun and mumbled sweet supplications to Rex Lapis, hoping that at least one of them would reach his ears.
He had told her of his identity the night he asked her to marry him. It was a prerequisite, he said. Before he asked her the all-important question, he had to ensure that she was comfortable with all of him—his past, present and future selves.
“Y/n, if we are to proceed with this relationship, I must inform you of something which might alter the course of your feelings towards me. I… have not always been a funeral parlor consultant.”
She expected that perhaps he had been wild in his youth, running with treasure hoarders or engaging in the shady trade that always littered the lower docks. Never could she have imagined that his prior job had been Geo Archon, but the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. He had, more times than she could count, corrected arrogant historians on minute details, filling in narrative holes with all sorts of odd accounts that somehow lined up entirely with historical fact.
Besides that, there was one occasion on which Tartaglia had referred to Zhongli as, “the guy who sealed up Osial in the first place,” which y/n had written off as some strange inside joke between the two.
The night he had revealed the truth to her, it had taken her several hours of questioning, which he had valiantly endured, to adjust to the new information, though her heart never thought twice about her decision to agree to his proposal. When he finally asked the question, she responded so immediately that it shocked him.
“Darling, I am overjoyed to hear this, but I must ask if you are sure. This is quite a lot to take in at once. If you require a few days’ thought, I would understand.”
“I know my answer now. I love you—every bit of you, even the parts that are complicated. I don’t mind what other names you’ve been called in the past, or other lives you’ve lived. You’re my Zhongli now, and you’ll be my Zhongli forever, if you’d like.”
“That is more than I could ever ask.”
When she agreed to marry him, she never pictured herself awaiting his return by sitting cross-legged before his draconic visage, muttering under her breath for only the cool stone to hear. It was worth it, however, to feel that he was so close even when he was so far away. No one else in the harbor could claim that their lover’s figure sat handsomely etched in stone in statues overlooking the city. She was the only one who could confirm whether Rex Lapis at all resembled his statues.
And she was quite smug about that, as well.
One hour prior.
He begged his heart not to expect the sight of her at the docks, her figure swaying amongst the silhouetted crowd as his ship crested the horizon and set for the docks. He had not discussed his arrival time with her, as he did not know it himself, and thus, it would be impractical for him to assume that she lingered at the docks for his return.
Even still, when he saw that the docks were empty at such late hours of the night, his heart stung with the pang of loneliness that would have to last just a bit longer.
He filled his mind instead with visions of her swaddled in blankets, chest rising with steady breath as she dreamed peacefully. When he finally arrived home, he could finally remove his business clothes, let loose his hair, and participate in that sweet domestic ritual of curling up in bed beside his wife, wishing to see her eyes but hating to wake her.
When he opened the bedroom door to find the house entirely empty, he fought to keep himself level. Surely, there was a reasonable answer for this. She had written him hardly a day prior, so he assumed her to be still in good health. Perhaps, even, she had overexerted herself in filling his absence, attending some late-night party from which she would eventually crawl home, exhausted and socially spent.
He doubted this. She had begun to appreciate light conversation more since the start of their relationship, but she was hardly the type to stay out past bedtime to engage in any social activities.
He searched the whole house one more time, thoroughly exhausting all his options until he was left with only the impractical—his wife could hardly fit in the vase by the fireplace, but he had to be sure of this. Compiling a list of her most frequent haunts, he took to the streets, not caring a single bit that the gray clouds had pooled all in one adumbral mass above the harbor, pouring rain that startled the seas with its force.
The Wanwen Bookhouse was, of course, closed at such a late hour, its wares sheltered in billowing tarps that pushed and pulled loudly in the strong winds. He thought she may be there, too, drenching herself to the bone as she fought to keep the pages of her favorite books safe, but she was not hiding amongst the shelves.
The Terrace was empty, save for the dimming light of the glaze lilies, closing their buds to the storm that threatened to pull their stalks from the earth. The incense that had once burned in the public altar was dampened entirely. Just as he was about to head for his next destination, however, the dome of a single lavender umbrella cut through the driving rain.
“Mr. Zhongli, I am surprised to find you here at this hour,” Keqing spoke in measured tone, as though it was perfectly normal for her to be there at that hour. “You’re soaking wet. Might I offer you an umbrella from my office for your journey home?”
“Forgive me, Lady Keqing, I do not mean to be abrupt, but I cannot seem to find my wife.”
“Quite alright, Mr. Zhongli. I assumed she had met you at the docks. I haven’t seen her since yesterday, but if I do, I will be sure to let her know that you’re looking for her.”
“Thank you, Lady Yuheng.”
He was gone long before he could acknowledge the quiet wave of farewell she gave. His next destination—and he prayed this to be wrong—was the pharmacy, where a single lamp flickered in the front office.
“Good evening. Or… is it now morning? Qiqi… does not own a watch.”
“Qiqi, have you seen my wife?” he questioned hurriedly, forgetting in his haste that the smallest of the pharmacy employees was also the slowest.
“Your… wife? You are Mr. Zhongli. Qiqi wrote down your name, because you always compliment Qiqi on the selection of violetgrass. Should Qiqi call for Dr. Baizhu?”
“No, thank you, Qiqi.”
A wasted venture, but one that took him to one of the last locations on his list, and the one place he would find someone who might truly have information. The Northland Bank was, after all, open at all hours of the day and night.
“Enjoying the rain, Zhongli? You don’t seem like the type to go out without an umbrella. I’d be happy to lend a few mora, if you need to procure a new one.”
“Thank you, Childe, but I fear an umbrella would be of no use to me at this point. Pardon me, but I do not have time to speak with you just now, I—”
“No time to speak?” Tartaglia asked him with a strange sort of glimmer in his eye that caught in the moonlight. “That’s odd. It’s rare that you don’t have a story to tell me, though, I suppose it makes sense. You wouldn’t go out in the rain and get soaked for no reason. Tell me, Zhongli, what’s your mission today? You look awfully determined.”
Zhongli sighed. Childe was, by some odd event, a friend to him, and though the two had spent hours exchanging stories, Zhongli was in no mood to humor his friend’s conversation, however amicable. As the hour drew on, his worry grew until it sat heavy right in the center of his chest.
“I have been looking for my wife, to no avail. I am aware that she is capable, but I am beginning to worry.”
“Y/n has certainly been lonely since you left on your little adventure. She’s stopped by the bank on more than one occasion, just to chat. The first time it happened, I thought something must be wrong. I’m not used to seeing one of you without the other at this point.”
“Childe, have you seen her today?”
“I haven’t. But, I might have an idea of where she may be.”
“I would be incredibly grateful for any information you are willing to spare.”
“She’s with you, of course,” Childe answered with a laugh, as though it should be obvious. When Zhongli’s brow furrowed, the younger man’s smile only grew.  “I did say that I hardly see one of you without the other, didn’t I? So where else would she be, than with you?”
Childe lifted one long arm to point upwards towards the horizon, dotted with brightening stars that grew as the sun dissipated behind the harbor’s wavering border. Rising tall, just above the rolling hills beyond the city’s gates, stood a singular, familiar figure, glowing faint blue against the darkening sky.
“I see,” Zhongli whispered. The waver in his tone faded into a fondness that untied the great knot of worry that had tangled his heart. It was silly, of course—he should have been upset that his most beloved had ventured out into the rain on such a wild and sentimental hare, but he could not bring himself to feel even the slightest bit of resentment towards her.
He had left her alone for two weeks. It was only reasonable that she should seek comfort in the next best thing. He hardly took time to thank Tartaglia before rushing towards the hillside, following the faint glow of the Statue of the Seven.
As he approached the statue, he saw her, shadowed by stone and sky, huddled into an uncomfortable mass on the statue’s lap. He fended off the passing sting of jealousy—it was his lap, but it wasn’t.
He hardly had trouble making his way up to the top, though as he did, he could not help but wonder how she had climbed there, and in the rain, of all things, but he thought to ask her later. There were far more pressing issues on his mind.
“Darling, wake up,” he cooed, brushing his fingers across the side of her face and warmed at the precious sight of her squirming and mumbling sleepily. “We need to get you out of this rain. You’ll fall ill in this cold.”
“Zhongli,” she whispered, as though in the midst of a sweet dream. “Get home, already. I can’t sleep when you’re not here.”
“I’m sorry, dearest. I am here now. Come—let me take you home.”
“Mmhmm. Okay. Carry me?”
“Of course. Hold on tight.”
“You’re really home?”
“Yes, my love, I am truly home.”
“Oh, no,” she whined, burying her head into his chest. “I’m sorry. You must be tired, and here I’m making you carry me. You can put me down, I can walk on my own.”
“Nonsense. How long have you been curled up against nothing but unyielding stone? It is my pleasure to carry you home, dear.”
She hummed happily as he crossed the threshold of their house, the amber glow of the kitchen lamp flushing their cheeks red with warmth as they sought shelter from the cold rain. Once she was on her own two feet, she quickly returned to the cradle of his arms, hiding herself away against him as though he would disappear if she did not hold him close enough.
“I must seem pathetic,” she whimpered, and he only laughed in response. The gracious rumble in his chest was enough to give her a smile of her own.
“Of course not. Should it be of interest to you, I found it difficult to sleep apart from you as well. The only way I found myself able to close my eyes at all was because I kept something of yours with me.”
“Hmm? What is it?”
“Oh, I—” he stammered, uncharacteristically flustered at the sudden turn of the conversation that placed all attention on him. “I borrowed a shirt of yours.”
“My green shirt? The one with the pocket on the front? So that’s where it’s been.”
“I apologize if you missed it.”
“I missed it a little, but not as much as I missed you.”
“That is good to hear,” he sighed. He pressed his lips quietly to her forehead, letting himself enjoy the weight of her in his arms before he went to move again, this time taking her by the hand and leading her towards the bedroom. “Come now, darling. We should rid ourselves of these clothes before we both fall ill.”
“Oh?”
“What an odd look in your eyes, dear. I am merely suggesting that you should not remain in wet clothes for very long, for your health.”
“You’re not suggesting anything else?”
He did not respond, but the twitch of his mouth gave him away, and she grasped his hand, eager to follow wherever he may lead.

Little Dragon<3
----------}
A little Zhongli fic before going to bed
Time check, 11:48pm :}
----------}
Summary:
Your beloved ex-archon, Zhongli, has manage to somehow regain his ability to switch forms and got stuck in his dragon form for awhile...
But, how does one manage to turn into a baby sized dragon??
Lil Info:
Use of 'You' Pronouns for reader
Kinda Ooc(maybe)
Cute stuff
----------}
Let's say you're confused asf whe n you realized that this man got stuck in his form.
Ngl he looks cute tho,
When he saw you, you swore you just saw his long tail wag
Cuteness 10,000
Coming home from work, you sighed, bone-tired from all the commissions given to you today.
For now, you just wanted lay down with your lover for the rest of your tiresome day and... Speaking of your lover, where is he?
You knew he took a day off today but you didn't, so he should be home, unless he decided to go out and get some things. That is what you thought, not until you heard movement from your shared bedroom.
Curiosity killed the cat, you went and check, without anything to defend yourself if it's an intruder, but no it is not.... It's a dragon...?
"What?" you mumbled, confusion written on your face as you and the brown dragon have a stare down, until it's tail seem to be wagging a bit.
Realization hit you when you remembered that Zhongli was once the lord of geo and had other forms, including a dragon one, similar to the one infront of you.
"Zhongli? Is that you?" You spoke, the dragon bobbed its head, indicating a yes, so it is Zhongli but how in the world did he manage to get stuck in this form and in this size.
You picked the man up and stared at it, he was only the same size of a baby but thanks to this long tail, it looked like he's the size of two babies.
Knowing he may or may not can't answer you, you decided to just play along in his little thingy.
The entire day, you had to babysit him.
It took longer than expected for him to go back to his human form, so throughout the time, you're with him in the funeral parlor
Imagine like you put him in a back pack and just put the bag on your chest(instead in your back) and he's just there, head popped out.
Cuddles with him tho oml-
Prolly has his tail wrapped around your arm.
If your like lying on your back, I think this man would like, slid under you shirt and pop his head out of the collar of your shirt.
Night time, you were lying in bed with a book in hand.
Zhongli hasn't changed back to his human form still and you have to come with him to the funeral parlor to help Hutao.
Soon after, the said man or dragon went to you and looked at you, down to your stomach then back to your eyes.
Confused by what he's doing, you asked, "Something wrong, Li love?" you looked at him as you spoke.
He only stared but soon after, he went closer and started to raise your shirt, he then crawled underneath your shirt then pop his head out on the collar.
Surprised by this, you just stared, but soon chuckled at his Wholesome behavior, "So you wanted to nuzzle into me, okay" you spoke, closing your book and place it on the nightstand before petting the said man/dragon.
"You're so cute" you mumbled before falling into slumber with your dragon lover underneath your shirt.
At the end, he manage to go back to his human form, he thanked you for helping him throughout.
He also somehow became more cuddly, maybe because of how you treated him when he was in his dragon form?
You don't know, but it's cute.
Now you wish for him to turn back to that form in the future because of how cute he is.
That's all for now, lemme know if yall have any fic ideas.
-Summer out!

Daddy Kink Headcanons (NSFW)
Tumblr media
I have yet to have a chance to write about him. So lemme just talk about Pierro.
Daddy Daddy Daddy
That man has a raging daddy kink, and he would be the one to bring it up first.
"Does Daddy's Princess/Prince need something?"
He expected the best out of his little one. Of course, as the number one harbingers partner, you must always be on your best behavior.
If you decide to be a little brat? Oh, you are in for a very long night.
When you returned to your shared room, Pierro sat on the edge of his bed, waiting for you. He just silently tapped his thigh, not having to tell you what was coming.
"I expect you to count each one. If you mess up, Daddy will make you start again."
This immortal daddy will have you crying for him as he rails you.
"I thought you wanted attention, little one? Isn't that why you walked around today in your skimpy outfit, showing off your body to everyone?"
He never uses protection. He always wants to fill you up with his cum
He especially loves watching it leak out of you when he pulls out.
Tumblr media
There was no way I could not include the OG Daddy in this.
Zhongli has been around for so long now. So of course he's dabbled in different Honorifics.
But it was you who accidentally called him daddy once, and he just went for it.
He had riled you up, gotten multiple orgasms out of you, and it just… slipped out.
"Oh?" Is daddy making you feel that good right now?"
You were so embarrassed, but the way he reacted was enough to have you crying out for daddy all night long.
Zhongli loves to tease you, but he can't help but give in when you call him daddy in that whiny voice.
He loves to come up behind you and wrap his arms around you before whispering.
"How's Daddy's girl/boy doing today?"
If you call him by his name in bed, he will remind you just who he is
What is my name again? I don't think I heard you right, little dove."
Tumblr media
This man right here had no idea that he had a daddy kink.
But one day, he was getting on your ass, repeatedly telling you what to do, and finally, you fired back at him.
"Yeah Yeah, I'll get right on it Daddy."
He looked at you so shocked, but before you knew it, you were pinned against the wall, Alhaithams hands roaming your body.
"Say it again; say it again right now."
He fucked you right there in the living room, making you scream out for your daddy over and over.
Kaveh had walked up to the house to come in and heard what was happening. He just turned around and left, spending the night at a friend's.
"I want everyone to hear how good your Daddy makes you feel."
He goes feral every time you call him daddy. It's like a switch you can flip whenever you want.
You once visited him at the Academia and jokingly called him Daddy just before you were going to leave.
He had you bent over his desk, your underwear shoved in your mouth.
"You better be quiet for Daddy, unless you want to get caught… or maybe you would like that."
Tumblr media
🥐 I love you SO MUCH right now. I have wanted to write something like this for so long now, just some self-indulgent smut. God, now i'm thinking about writing fanfiction like Kaveh spying on Daddy Alhaitham and his girlfriend and doing something he shouldn't be

- Softness, Zhongli, not proofread.
Tumblr media
Imagine Zhongli coming back late only to find you haunched over your work desk, nearly passed out from the paperwork you have to have done by tomorrow.
Imagine Zhongli making you a special tea he only ever makes for you, according to your preferences and he makes sure he doesn't serve it too hot to you.
Imagine Zhongli beckoning you over so you curl up against him, one of his big arms draping around you and pushing you closer to his frame.
Imagine him languidly playing with your hair as you both softly speak about your day.
Imagine Zhongli carrying you to bed the moment he sees how your eyes droop and the way you try to hide a yawn. Imagine him throwing a blanket over both of you and him bringing you to his chest, resting your head over it so you could clearly hear his heart.
Imagine falling asleep to that steady beat, the symphony of his love

i just love zhongli he's such a funny guy. he both has extensive knowledge about history and even science but he also knows the most useless shit and he just says it. sometimes he's aloof and lost in his thoughts but when you want him to focus he can. there's always a lot in his head i wanna give him loving cheek pats. like you can go on a walk with him and he'd talk about everything but he suddenly stands still when a butterfly lands on his nose and goes a little cross-eyed

How Zhongli is in a Romantic Relationship:
Warning: None. Although you may want to bring a pair of sunglasses because...gosh, he’s blinding.
I dedicate this post to a good friend of mine. If they hadn’t ask for it, I probably wouldn’t have written it this early. Probably wouldn’t have seen it for at least another month or two, but I love them so I’m gonna oblige them.
Tumblr media
Personally, I don’t think he would act any different, but...as anyone would be able to perceive, his eyes seemed warmer when he looks at you and he would with gentle fondness. The world would be still with an indescribable air of tranquility radiating from the two of you simply being in each other’s company. All would feel more at ease and then in awe, whispering as they passed by. “It’s as though they are in a world of their own!” Now, you may swear silently from hearing their comments, but Zhongli didn’t seemed to mind or rather...they were so insignificant that he didn’t even register it? Whatever the case, he remained poised and unbothered.  If you were bothered (or embarrassed) he may notice and ask you about it. Whatever you had to say, you’ll find him listening intently and responding appropriately with the best advice he had for the situation.  Nothing was ever too minor when it was about you. He was your personal consultant and advisor. The advice he delivers would always be impartial, always aiding in your growth and leading you to be the best you can be.
Despite how others view you two, you always felt as though the world was in passing. All moved accordingly to the natural ways of the world, but only time seemed to slow down when you were with him. Seated at a restaurant’s balcony overlooking the docks and the vast sea, sharing a moment of peace with your beloved. You dared to steal glances at him knowing full well he was looking at you, only for you to dart your eyes away after seeing his glowing visage under the evening sun.
He was ephemeral and all his distinguished features and attention were for you to behold and command. You may find the responsibility too great, but he jokingly implores you to take full advantage of it...
Zhongli is very peculiar about many things. He has preferences for many things, but you are one that he accepts fully just as you are. Wouldn’t change a thing and loves to take in all the little details and aspects about you, but one in particular was your scent. With your permission, he would step over to smell your hair or the nape of your neck and plant a small kiss there. With time, these occurrences will become more frequent, but you never seem to get used to it. Sometimes it brought a blush to your face feeling how close he was, his breath, his warmth, and how he brushed against you. If you protested to him, he would simply chuckle and tell you, “it’s too late to go back, it’s already become a part of my daily routine. I can’t go back, you see.” This was also his way of taking more of you in to make up for the time you weren’t in his life. So, you wouldn’t deny him of this small pleasure, would you?
Other than this, he normally didn’t initiate any other means for physical touch. He would be content with spending quality time with you.
I imagine that if you enjoy going out for coffee dates, aesthetic book shopping/perusing, wandering about in town/city and having a leisure stroll -- Zhongli would be your guy. Except he much prefer tea or alcohol. He’s not really into desserts, but he’ll go anyways because he likes to see you enjoying yourself.
He is someone who would readily accompany you on these daytrips to be with you. He was also great at picking out things that you would like (aside from the numerous expensive items that he brought with someone else’s money). Sometimes, although it may seem rare, he might even purchase said things for you (granted he brings out his wallet). I say rare, but maybe he will remember if he’s the one planning the date? He would definitely spare no effort in ensuring that you were satisfied.
On days you don’t feel like going out, you can just go to his place where he would personally brew you tea. In some ways, this may be the most optimal way to have tea. He is quite the connoisseur and even if you weren’t much a tea lover yourself, I am sure he could find something that would suit your palette.
Although, he may say that his place isn’t very much, you could tell with little effort that he might actually have genuine antiques in his home that easily cost more than than an arm or leg or even yourself whole (assuming that my reader isn’t some multimillionaire...billionaire....heir to some monopolizing company). He’ll smile when he sees you musing over the sole vase in the corner of the living room and tell you its origin story of the craftsman/artisan who painstakingly worked on it day and night and its history of the countless changing of hands until it was finally given to him. But you already knew he would do this. He’s done it before and it’s a good way to listen to his voice. It’s also helped you develop an eye to look for other antiques when he invites you out next time.
When that’s all said and done, he would cook for you and make a nutritious meal that would be sure to revive your stamina especially when you’ve had a long week. Watching him work in his kitchen was just a bonus. When he sees you watching him, he’ll smile in return.  “What’s wrong? Ah, I should have asked what you wanted tonight. I’m preparing the soup base for noodles right now. Apologies if that’s not what you wanted.” But you shook your head. Rest assured, you were not disappointed. The noodles were cooked perfectly for the soup base he prepared and it tasted wonderful. Liyue needs to tack on a new title for him. Step aside Gouba, there’s a new God of Cooking in town. (But maybe it’s all right since Gouba is the God of the Wok and Zhongli is good at cooking in general.)
If you get food coma, Zhongli will suggest that you stay for the night. “It’s no problem at all, you can take the bed. This body isn’t like most mortal bodies. I only need to rest every now and then, but that isn’t the same for you.” His voice was so soothing and sincere, you couldn’t bolster enough spirit to turn down his offer.
Although you have food coma, you’ll find him peeling an orange or a tangerine as customary of Liyue’s customs. “You should have some, it helps with digestion.” You tried to refuse, but like a persistent aunt, he managed to have you concede under politeness and eat one or two slices.
Before going to bed, you can sit beside him in the living room and laid your head on him as he read to himself. He would read aloud to you if you requested and even explain the content in the book if you had questions. You can wrap your arms around him as he speaks and he wouldn’t mind at all. He too would put an arm around you to secure you to his side. Eventually you would fall asleep to the sound of his gentle voice and he would notice mid passage. He would put his book to the side and prop you up. In one smooth motion, he would have you in his arms and bring you to his bedroom and you lie you down. It was so smooth you didn’t wake up at all. That’s too bad, you missed it all! He’ll tuck you in, smooth out the sheets, and just before leaving he’ll glide his ungloved fingers through your hair before placing a kiss to your temple.
Tumblr media
Forgive me as I take this moment to meme, but I believe Zhongli is very much the embodiment of The Proclaimers’ song, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”:
When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be I'm gonna be the man who's lonely without you And when I'm dreaming, well I know I'm gonna dream I'm gonna Dream about the time when I'm with you
And Zhongli can certainly walk 1000 miles and he won’t fall down.
Anyways, this closes the post for Zhongli, I hope you enjoyed it! I really tried to write more for this post...I really did. I racked my brain, but this was all that came out. OTL I, for one, wish I could try some of Zhongli’s cooking. It would be an honor! And the orange thing was totally a spontaneous thought where I was like “yeah...Zhongli would definitely do that there’s no way he wouldn’t because he needs to be a good host to his guest.”  If growing up in a Chinese household has taught me anything, is that hospitality is so so important and Zhongli just reminds me of a lot of things within Chinese culture (I mean he is the embodiment of all that is good and beautiful about Chinese culture and heritage), so I can’t not include that tidbit. Edit: My friend mentioned that it’s actually a rather intimate gesture, in the sense that normally, we would peel oranges to share with our family or close friends.
I’m sorry to the people who may want to read about sexy times with Zhongli. I just can’t bring myself to write it. Mainly because I don’t think he sees it as a necessity and probably ranks it so low on his tier of importance in a romantic relationship. Not because “oh he must have had years of experience blah blah,” it just doesn’t really sit high in general. Within traditional and ancient Chinese culture, you don’t place physical pleasure on your list at all because it was seen as uncultured and something not to be desired if you were an educated and upstanding individual. And Zhongli reflects a lot of the old depictions of an old and wise Chinese scholar who would recite poetry for conversation and join in on discussions with other scholars... It’s not to say that all scholars were this way and some certainly more adventurous than others (Venti reminds me more of this), but Zhongli has seen his fair share of the worst in life, and he just wants to spend this time of peace with you and in peace. You are what matters to him, not your flesh.
But I don’t mean to denounce sexy times, it’s just that I want to write characters closest to how they would be in real life or as his creator intended.
Tumblr media
I MEAN LOOK AT HIM. HE’S GORGEOUS! HOW CAN YOU THINK OF ANYTHING BUT HAVING TEA WITH HIM?!
Hey you in the back, no no, you come here with me. There’ll be no funny business in here! Come here, drink this tea, it’ll calm you the eff down. Drink away the thirst. Drink it all away.
But yeah, don’t I’ll ever write a sexy time post for Zhongli. I just don’t see him interested in it and I’ll expand on this in the next coming post. I’ll edit this page when I do.

sex with me, so amazing
Tumblr media
or, genshin men as people i’ve hooked up with.
Tumblr media
who: multi/basically everyone (mentioned: childe, diluc, itto, kaeya, kazuha, zhongli)
what: drabbles; describing my hook ups and who in genshin would be like them. don’t take it too seriously.
wc: 2.1k
warnings: ns/fw and angst :)) just a little bit of angst though, mostly smut ofc :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. 8 inch cock. even when you take him down your throat the deepest you can go, until your eyes water and you gag, you still can fit 5 fingers between your lips and the soft hair on his pelvis. so thick you can’t wrap your hand around it. big, heavy, hot. so long that he has to stretch you out in order for it to fit inside.
the first time you see it, your jaw drops. “holy fuck,” you gasp. “I don’t think it’s gonna fit.”
“you’ll make it fit,” he says. “stop running away; be a good girl and take it.”
sometimes it really is too big, though, if he doesn’t take the time to stretch you out. after the first time of his cock being too big, hurting a little too much than it feels good when he tries to go all the way in, he never lets you or himself rush into things.
foreplay is methodical. he eats you out because he loves it. he loves the feeling of your hands fisting his hair as he slides one, then two, and finally three fingers inside of you. loves the taste of your pussy, the hardness of your clit on his tongue. loves digging his fingers into your soft thighs that tremble and squeeze around his head. loves the sounds you make, the whimpers and the whines, when you beg for him to just fuck you already. loves the way your body writhes, the feeling of your cunt loosen then tighten and spasm around his fingers, the cries you make when you cum against his face.
he’s already hard when you kneel on still quivering legs in front of him, kissing up his thighs, leaving little marks and bites, running your hands over his soft skin. you don’t give him head with the purpose of trying to make him cum — not that often, at least. most times, it’s foreplay and also a game: a competition of whether it’s you who will pull away first, heaving for breath, asking for him to fuck you, or him who will get frustrated and push you off of him so he can turn you over and fuck you.
he’s most sensitive around his tip, which is wide and red and tastes tangy but not bad, so normally you focus on sucking the top half of his cock while your hand works around the rest. “take what you can, that’s— yes, fuck, that’s it. just like that. just like that, baby, keep doing that.”
when you do try to take him all the way down your throat, though, the incentive to keep going is the way his breath stutters and he wheezes, “oh, fuck, yes.” but when his cock inevitably presses too hard against the back of your mouth, you gag and pull off with a cough.
you let his heavy cock rest against your face while you suck on his balls to give yourself a moment to breathe, and you look up at him with teary eyes. he looks back down at you and says, almost in disbelief, “fuck, you’re so hot.” then he picks you up, throws you onto the bed, tells you to get on your stomach, and then pounds you into the mattress.
says shit like:
“relax, just relax. I’m gonna give you everything you need. don’t be impatient.”
“‘it’s too big?’ it’s barely even in, baby. you can take it, I know you can.”
“you’ll make it fit. now, be good for me and keep still.”
he moans your name.
“fuck, you feel good. you’re so fucking wet. you take me so well.”
“that feels good, doesn’t it? yeah? tell me how it feels. what was that? oh, you can’t even use your words?” he laughs when you get breathless, when he’s fucking you too hard and too fast for you to form words.
and always amazed, like he can’t believe it, “you’re so hot.”
when you both get close, he flips you over onto your back. he puts a pillow under your lower back, and leans down to spit on your cunt and kiss your clit. he put one of your legs over his shoulder and you wrap the other around his waist. he grips the headboard with one hand and touches your body softly, like he’s not saying obscene things and fucking the life out of you, with the other. and then he fucks you even harder.
he’s so deep that you can feel him in your stomach.
when you reach down to touch your clit, your other hand scratching down his back, he says stuff like:
“yes, that’s it, baby, go ‘head, make yourself feel good.”
“you gonna cum? yeah? you’re gonna cum all over my cock?”
“you look so pretty like this.”
he pulls out after you cum so he can finish on your stomach, but he cums so hard and so much, with his hand wrapped around his thick cock, pumping quickly, that it goes from your lower stomach all the way up to between your breasts. while you lay back to catch your breath, he wipes you off with a towel and licks your tits clean.
his dick is big and he knows how to use it. he says and does the right things, even if it’s not exceedingly kinky – (maybe you’ll get to that point later, you think). honestly, it’s the best foreplay, head, and sex you’ve ever had.
but he never stays for long after. there’s no emotions in your arrangement, really; it’s just hooking up. there’s no hanging out after and talking. and that’s fine with you, really. you aren’t sure there would be any compatibility between you for being in a relationship, anyway. but you definitely have chemistry in bed.
once he’s sure you’re coming down okay, he kisses you on the lips and rubs over your cheek with his thumb. he murmurs a promise of, “I’ll see you later,” and then walks out the door.
he doesn’t follow through.
this time, when the door closes behind him, it’s the last time you ever see him.

2. solid 5/5.5ish inches. fits perfectly; not too big, not too small. the weight feels good on your tongue; it isn’t as hard to take all of him in your mouth, until you can look up at him with your lips wrapped around the very base of his cock. sex is less about finishing and more about the process—about feeling, about the sensations.
after the first time you hook up, you realize: it’s making love, not fucking. you really don’t know each other that well, but he holds you like he’s afraid you’re going to disappear. speaks to you like you’re one of the most important people in his life. touches you like you’re the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. fucks you like he’s in love with you.
it leaves you reeling. it’s confusing being treated like that so immediately, but it’s also nice. the orgasms you have are different than you’ve ever experienced before. the physical vaginal pleasure isn’t anything special, really (… you’ve had better dick), but the way you feel throughout your body and mind when you’re with him is so intense.
it’s not about the orgasm specifically; it’s about the way you feel leading up to it, the process; the slow build leading up to an orgasm where you feel pleasure and relief throughout your entire body.
hooking up is about you. he loves kissing you; sometimes it feels like he likes it even more than having sex. his lips are on yours for so long, seemingly not in a rush at all, even with his hard on pressing against your thigh and making a damp spot on his boxers. he only stops when you get restless and pent up and force him away. then his lips are on your neck, over your chest with his tongue circling your nipples in a way that has you shuddering, down your stomach until he kisses your hip bones—the left and then the right, skipping your cunt and going straight to your thighs.
after all of the drawn out foreplay, when he finally puts his cock in, it feels like a hot, striking, all-encompassing instant relief for both of you. like it’s everything you’ve ever needed and wanted in your whole life. moaning into each other’s mouths, both your and his eyes rolling back, your bodies shuddering against each other.
it’s overwhelming. it feels like you’re burning, like there’s nothing else you could possibly think about or focus on other than him, like this is all you’ve ever needed and wanted. you feel good all over, and it’s clear he does too.
he doesn’t stop kissing you, touching all over your body, making sure as much of his skin is pressed against yours. moaning in your ear, telling you how beautiful you are, how sexy you look, how good you feel, the way your cunt is so wet and warm and tight for him and him only. how he wants to feel you cum around his cock, that he wants to see how hot you look when you cum for him.
“I want you to cum. it doesn’t matter how long it takes,” he says. “we aren’t in a rush. just make yourself feel good, baby. take what you need.”
his dick isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either. it feels best when he puts your ankles over his shoulders and kisses the inside of your leg gently as if he isn’t fucking you into the mattress with his hand resting against your lower stomach; when he presses his body to yours and makes love to your body until you write under him and cum hard around his cock; when he grips your waist as you ride him and digs his fingers into your hips, worshiping the plush of your thighs, the softness of your ass, until he pulls you against him so he can moan into your mouth as he cums.
he says stuff like:
“fuck, that feels so good. you’re so good, baby, shit, don’t stop.”
“don’t hide, let me see you. fuck, you look so pretty. you’re so beautiful.”
“you gonna cum? yeah? that’s it, baby, cum for me. you can do it. be good and cum for me.”
of course, it isn’t all lovey and vanilla and soft. like when his hands stop exploring your body and instead squeeze your throat. or one time when he said, “you’re so loud,” and then stuck his fingers into your mouth. or when he pulled your hair and held your face in his hands as he fucked your mouth until he came down your throat and then kissed you after.
you find it unfortunate that the way he treats you is so refreshing. you find it special, different, even surprising, that he treats you so well when you’re with each other. he doesn’t act like you matter as a person only when you’re having sex, and that makes you sad for yourself.
but it also makes you care—a little bit more than you should in your fuck buddy arrangement. it’s hard to eliminate emotions when it feels like you’re in love with each other when you hook up.
he just seems so fucking into you. like, who fucks you like he loves you and says this shit kind of shit when you’re just supposed to be fuck buddies?
“you should sleep over.” it wasn’t all that ‘you can stay if you want to’ bullshit. no, it was, “I want you to.” and it was every single time you came over, too.
“when can I see you? I’m hard as fuck thinking about you. you wanna do something about it?”
“you should come during the day. I want to see your face.”
“if it was going to be anyone,” he said when you asked him about the boundaries of your arrangement one night, if you’re exclusive, if it’s just hooking up and there’s no feelings, etc. “it’s you.”
he’s a liar.
you don’t know if he means to be. you don’t know if he realizes that he’s stringing you along in the grey area of whatever the fuck “it’s you” is. you don’t know if he wants to see your name in his phone apart from wanting to hook up. you don’t know if playing pretend being in a relationship and being in love with each other is hurting him, too.
but you do know that when you kiss him goodbye one morning, it’ll be the last time you’ll ever see him.
