KAEYA ALBERICH
kaeya was not one for quiet nights.
he much preferred the white noise and chatter of the tavern to his own lodgings. even after he began seeing you, spending nights with you at his side on a barstool remained his favorite activity. he loved to watch your easy confidence as you chatted with jean or charles, or even diluc for that matter. he just enjoyed listening to your lovely voice over the background conversation of the other patrons.
but there were some nights when kaeya wished he had elected to stay home.
there was a new bartender working tonight. kaeya had seen him a few times, and charles didn't seem particularly bothered by him despite the subpar drinks he made, but kaeya couldn't help his inherent distrust of any newcomer. it always took him a bit of time to get used to an unfamiliar face settling in mondstadt as a permanent resident, and from what kaeya had heard, this one had made his intention to stay in the city for the foreseeable future very clear.
the night, while young, was already wearing him thin. he'd just gotten back from a days-long commission that jean had requested he take on personally. it had been a grueling week, and the only thing he wanted to do when he returned was take you to the angel's share for a few drinks, then take you to bed.
you never elected to drink very much when you accompanied kaeya to the tavern. you'd usually nurse a glass or two of wine, and oftentimes you'd leave without finishing a third.
tonight, you had barely started sipping your second glass when you began looking fairly ill. at the moment, you were slumped against kaeya's shoulder, struggling to keep your eyes open or form a coherent sentence.
"darling?" kaeya asked when your strength seemingly left you. you went limp, and had you not already been leaning on his shoulder, you probably would have fallen off of the barestool. kaeya caught you with an arm around your waist and another holding your shoulder. you muttered something unintelligible and groaned when kaeya shifted so he could look at you. he lifted your face, and gave your cheek a light tap when your eyes began to flutter shut. "can you open your eyes, love?"
"'m tired," you mumbled. kaeya furrowed his brow; he was certain you'd only had one drink since you'd arrived.
he caught charles' concerned gaze from across the bar, but before either of them could speak, the newcomer was stepping forward nervously.
"i can take them to the back," he said to kaeya, eyeing you briefly, "there's a couch."
kaeya raised a brow at the suggestion. from the corner of his eye, he saw charles wince.
"i'll take them," kaeya corrected firmly, scrutinizing the man further when he saw disappointment flicker across his expression.
"r-right. of course. it's just back–"
"i know where it is," kaeya snapped, abruptly standing from his chair and sliding his arms under your pliant body. concern was thrumming through him, and he immediately forgot about the bartender shuffling behind him when you shifted and let out another string of mutters.
"talk to me, love," he muttered as you peeled your eyes open, "how are you feeling?"
"bad," you grumbled. kaeya hummed, pursing his lips and walking as steadily as he could manage.
"was it something you ate?"
"dunno," you said, already fading again. kaeya cursed when your eyes fell shut and you went limp, head resting against his chest and arm hanging uselessly to your side.
kaeya laid you on the couch in the back room that charles had set up for employees. you didn't stir as his arms left you, though he saw your brow furrow when he let you go. he elected to take one of your hands in his as he thought through the events of the night to try and pin down the cause of your mysterious illness.
it was then he realized that the new bartender had followed him all the way down the hall and was waiting nervously in the doorway. he shifted uncomfortably under kaeya's sharp gaze.
"what are you still doing here?"
"i...i apologize, i just wanted to make sure everything was alright–"
"while your concern is very touching," kaeya sneered, suspicion growing each time the man's eyes left his and strayed to where you were laying behind him. kaeya shifted so that your face wasn't in the man's view, "i can handle things."
kaeya saw a touch of annoyance cross the man's features, and the alarm bells already ringing in his head became more frantic.
"unless," kaeya rumbled as he stood, reluctantly dropping your hand so that he could approach the man, "you know something about this."
"oh! uh...no, i'm not sure what happened. i just noticed that they looked rather sick."
kaeya hummed, scrutinizing the man for a moment longer before nodding his head towards the door behind him.
"you can go, then," he said with finality.
"right," the man nodded, eyes wide as he took in kaeya intimidating aura, "o-of course."
kaeya didn't watch the newcomer scurry away. instead, he turned back to where you were beginning to rouse again. he heard a string of words escape you, only catching his own name every few seconds until he was kneeling next to you, one hand reaching to find your own as the other cupped your cheek.
"kaeya," you huffed, breathing sporadic and so panicked that it made kaeya's chest ache, "what's happ'ning?"
"i don't know, darling," kaeya told you truthfully. you groaned, bringing a hand to shield your eyes from the light in the room and turning on your side, pressing your face into the pillows. "i'm sorry. we'll get you feeling better soon, alright?"
"that wine," you mumbled, voice muffled by the pillow and barely audible over the distant chatter of the tavern, "it was...really strong."
that gave kaeya pause. he distinctly remembered the new bartender pouring your wine, then turning towards the opposite counter where kaeya couldn't see what he was doing.
he couldn't imagine that anyone would...
"charles!" he shouted as soon as he puts the pieces together, rage clouding his mind as he thought back to the suspicious behavior, the attempts to stay in the room with you, and kaeya's own gut feeling that something was off about the newcomer.
the only thing that kept him from going back to the bar and wringing the man's neck was your hand holding his. he couldn't leave you alone now—not with that criminal still roaming god-knows-where.
"don' leave," you muttered, making a desperate attempt to sit up and grab onto kaeya's arm. he shook his head, placing careful hands on your shoulders and guiding you onto your back. you were looking up at him with bloodshot eyes, and the fear in them made his chest ache.
"i'm not," he shook his head, taking your hand in both of his and giving it a reassuring squeeze, "don't worry, love. i'm not leaving."
kaeya's chest tightened when your breath hitched, a silent sob rocking your chest. you were terrified—that much was strikingly clear. your eyes were scrunched shut, and if your pained expression was anything to go by, you had a raging headache brought on by whatever it was that you had drank.
kaeya couldn't watch for much longer before he was lifting you up and replacing you on the couch, then setting you down with your head on his lap. you pressed closer to him, head resting on his thigh and fingers gripping his jacket.
"what happened?"
kaeya stiffened at diluc's familiar voice. he looked down at you and focused on the rise and fall of your chest to keep himself from getting too upset over his brother's untimely arrival.
"that new bartender," kaeya grumbled, "he made their drink tonight. i think they mixed it with something."
there was a silence, and kaeya finally chanced a glance at diluc. he was watching you with a furrowed brow, hands clenched into fists and jaw grinding back and forth in the only show of anger that kaeya could see.
"is the drink still at the bar?"
"it should be."
"i'll take it to timeus on my way to the knight's headquarters."
kaeya looked up in surprise, but diluc looked away, very intentionally avoiding his eyes.
"i'll take the bartender to jean. i trust she can keep him in check in a far more legal manner than i would."
diluc breathed in deeply, closing his eyes for a moment. when he opened them again, he looked far more intense than before, and he looked at kaeya with a seriousness that was rarely shared between the two.
"it's my responsibility to know who is being hired at my establishments. i apologize for being so negligent."
kaeya blinked, opening his mouth to reassure him that the only one at fault was the scum who did this, but diluc held a hand up to stop him.
"just make sure they're taken care of," diluc said, glancing down at you once more with a furrowed brow that almost made him look worried, "i'll handle the rest."
kaeya gave a single nod, knowing that any gratitude could go unsaid. he also knew that this sudden show of kindness was less for him and more for you—diluc had always been fond of you, claiming that you made kaeya more pleasant to be around.
while the comment had irked him when it was made, he couldn't exactly disagree.
"'m sorry," you groaned when diluc was gone, sniffling and trying desperately to keep your tears at bay. kaeya's expression twisted, his hand stilling where it had been rubbing soothing circles on your arm.
"sorry?" he repeated, "love, what could you possible have to be sorry for?"
"for inconveniencing diliuc," you huffed, "and making you worry."
kaeya sighed, shaking his head at the guilty look on your face and cupping your face in his hands.
"we just want to make sure you're okay," he whispered, lifting your hand and pressing his lips to your fingers, "none of this is your fault, my love."
you grumbled something that sounded like a disagreement, but let the argument go when your headache returned.
"am i gonna be okay?" you croaked, eyes filling with panic as you thought about the possibilities of what could've been put in your drink. sure, you'd heard about people's drinks getting tampered with before, but it could've been something more deadly. maybe this was a murder attempt to get at kaeya. maybe you had unintentionally made someone so angry that they'd hired this bartender to kill you. maybe–
"you're going to be just fine," kaeya assured you, hands cupping your face so that you were forced to look at him, "it's nothing to worry about. i've seen this happen a few times. you'll just wake up with a nasty headache, but i'll take care of you, yeah?"
"yeah," you agreed, feeling any energy you'd been using to panic seep from you as you sank into kaeya's arms.
as kaeya carried you home later that night, he thought about all of the things that he could do to make that bartender's life a living hell. the ideas he came up with brought him some satisfaction, and he found that he was more excited than he had been in a long time to get to work the next day.

ZHONGLI
zhongli had been alive for many, many years. enough years that he had seen the cruelties that others were capable of. he understood that preventative measures were necessary to keep oneself safe, but he was also painfully aware that those protections were not always enough. those with bad intentions usually found a way around any safeguards no matter how carefully they were designed.
in you, he saw a very careful person. you were well aware of the dangers of the world—though perhaps not to the extent of someone who had fought in wars and survived to tell the tales. you were, however, cautious enough that he knew you were a very capable person.
but despite his experience, this was a first.
you weren't one to drink yourself into a state of incapacitation, so zhongli couldn't deny his growing concern as you stumbled towards him, eyes lidded and legs shaky. you stumbled towards him, struggling to keep yourself from falling with each step. he met you before you could fall, accepting your outstretched arms and pulling you into his chest.
the first thing he noticed upon catching you was that you were shaking. he tried to move away so that he could look at you, but your grip was firm. you were holding him so tightly, like you were afraid of letting him go and facing whatever had frightened you so much.
"y/n?" he asked softly, resting a hand on the small of your back just under your shirt and rubbing soothing circles over your skin. he felt some of the tension loosen from your shoulders and hugged you closer, "darling, what happened?"
the answer appeared behind him before you could even attempt to answer. he felt a tap on shoulder, impatient and insistent. zhongli turned carefully, making sure to keep you steady as he faced the interruption with equal levels of impatience.
"yes?"
"ah, this is a bit awkward," the man chuckled, attention not on zhongli, but rather on you huddled in his arms. zhongli's eyes narrowed on the stranger, and he pulled you tighter against his chest, keeping your face pressed into his clothes to keep it out of the man's sight.
"do tell me what you find so awkward about the situation," zhongli said darkly, "or better yet, tell me why you're even speaking to me in the first place."
the man gulped, finally looking up and meeting zhongli's glare. it must have been the first time he really registered the person holding you, because his eyes widened a fraction and he began spitting out excuse after excuse, each sounding more desperate than the last.
"y'see, my friend has had a few too many drinks tonight. i apologize that they stumbled into you like that–"
"your friend," zhongli huffed, an irritated laugh bubbling in his throat, "ah, well, it's a good thing you've come to their rescue, then."
the man, who zhongli now knew was denser than stone, grinned at this and began reaching towards you eagerly.
"may i ask you what their name is?"
this made him pause.
"well...i don't think they'd appreciate me giving that information out to a stranger-"
"oh, of course," zhongli nodded, "how noble of you."
"right," the man gave him an odd look, but continued reaching towards you, "if you could just–"
if there was one thing that zhongli appreciate about his human form, it was its agility.
he swept you to the side, keeping one arm firmly around your waist while the other grabbed hold of the man's wrist. he only got a glimpse of the stranger's wide, terrified eyes before he twisted the his arm just shy of breaking. the man let out quick, panicked huffs as he looked between zhongli's hard expression and the hand gripping his wrist.
"a-alright, i get it," the man gulped, making a feeble attempt to pull away, "i'll go–ow, i'm sorry! i didn't know–"
"didn't know what?" zhongli asked venomously, false smiles and politeness wiped from his expression. his harsh tone made the man visibly shudder, "that it's not acceptable to try to kidnap people? what made you so ignorant that you couldn't comprehend that that is a crime?"
"i wasn't...listen, i'm sorry, okay? i won't do it again, just let me go. please."
zhongli was very close to breaking the man's wrist, eyes nearly glowing as they narrowed on the man's terrified eyes. however, he paused when you shifted, coughing weakly into his chest.
"zhongli," you croaked, "i think he did something to my drink."
zhongli's fingers tightened around the man's wrist, earning a terrified squeak from him as he tried to pull back in one last, desperate attempt to get away.
"well?" he asked the terrified man sharply, "did you?"
"o-of course i didn't! i just...i didn't know you were together, alright? i just saw that they looked ill, and thought i'd help–"
"your help is neither wanted nor needed," zhongli said with a sharp smile that made the man's face go white. zhongli knew he could be more than menacing at the right times, "xiao."
the adeptus appeared at his side immediately, making the already nervous man jump in fear. the man watched with wide-eyes as xiao approached zhongli. xiao payed no mind to the man trembling in zhongli's grip. he did, however, take note of your barely-conscious body slumped against zhongli. you were staring blankly at something behind xiao, and the adeptus tried to keep himself calm for your sake.
"please watch him until i return."
xiao gave a single nod, gripping the man's shirt and dragging him to a more secluded area of the market. zhongli wrapped his arm further around your waist, pulling you in close before he disappeared from the streets of the harbor.
baizhu did not looked particularly alarmed when zhongli appeared in the middle of the pharmacy, though his eyes widened just slightly when he spotted you in the ex-god's arms.
"come with me," baizhu ordered immediately, turning and moving further into the pharmacy. he entered a room with zhongli at his heels and pointed towards a long table, "put them there."
zhongli did as he was told, brow furrowed in clear concern as he brushed a hand over your cheek. you seemed to be conscious, but barely lucid as you leaned into zhongli's palm.
"what happened," baizhu asked, leaning over you and opening one of your eyes wider to look at your pupil.
"i believe they were given some kind of drug. i don't know what."
"that would explain these symptoms," baizhu murmured, placing a hand on your chest and closing his eyes. his palm began to glow a bright green, and zhongli watched as changsheng slid down the doctor's arm until she was resting on your stomach. after another moment, the glow dissipated.
"i can't tell the exact substance that was used, but it's nothing deadly. they'll just need to rest. it will be out of their system by tomorrow night at the latest."
zhongli nearly collapsed as relief rushed through him. he took your hand and pressed it to his lips carefully, closing his eyes so he could focus on calming his racing heart.
"if it's not too much trouble," zhongli began as baizhu stepped back from the table, allowing changsheng to take her place upon his shoulders again, "could you look after them for a moment? i've left someone waiting."
baizhu huffed, a smirk crossing his lips at the zhongli's sugarcoated words.
"please do. rest assured, they'll be looked after here," baizhu told him slyly, waving a hand towards the door, "and don't bother bringing me any more patients when you're finished. i'm afraid i'm stretched quite thin with just the one."
as zhongli disppeared towards he harbor, baizhu almost pitied the poor man who had put you in such a state. almost.

XIAO
xiao had never enjoyed human celebrations.
he knew that they were important to you, but he just didn't have the patience for them. they always dragged on for so long. sure, he was immortal, but he still appreciated concision.
and the crowds. just thinking about trying to shove his way through a mass of humans made his skin crawl. he'd watched you do it enough times that he knew he would be content to never experience it for himself.
so he was satisfied watching you from afar. he liked seeing you enjoy yourself, even if he wasn't necessarily keen on the types of events that you chose to dedicate your time to.
however, it was neither his place nor his desire to tell you how to spend your time. while he would've been more than happy to just lay with you under the stars, he knew how much you enjoyed spending time with your friends at these little soirees.
but humans were just so fragile. he knew you wouldn't blame him for wanting to keep a watchful eye out.
it was foggy, but that did little to impede his vision as he watched over you from the balcony of wangshu inn. tonight's event had gathered a fairly large crowd to the courtyard outside of the inn, but xiao was careful to make sure he didn't lose sight of you in the depths of the crowd.
in the back of his mind, he heard zhongli's scolding voice telling him that he shouldn't hover, but he waved it away. he was not hovering. he was simply...observing. there was nothing wrong with wanting to keep an eye on humans whose intentions and judgment he didn't trust. he probably would've been here whether you decided to attend or not, just looking out to make sure no one was hurt in the crowd or bothered by some drunkard.
the fact that you were here was simply a coincidence. he was just taking advantage of it to keep an eye on you.
xiao!
the voice that intruded into his mind was panicked, begging for his attention and help. he felt the fear of the person calling him through the word alone. it sent a cold chill down his spine, and he perked up immediately, eyes still on you to make sure you hadn't somehow gotten hurt while he was momentarily distracted.
but you were fine. the call had come from somewhere a few miles from the inn where the abyss order tended to wander. very few knew to call his name in order to summon him, but this particular cry seemed far too desperate for him to ignore. he gave one last look to where you were standing at a food stall with your friends before he disappeared. it only took seconds of searching to find the source of the voice.
as he suspected, the woman was surrounded by monsters. one cryo mage, one hydro, and a handful of hilichurls were tormenting her for seemingly no reason other than their own amusement. rather than unleashing any deadly attacks, the mages released small bursts of elemental power and cackle at the frightened cry that the woman gave as she was hit with a blast of water or ice. the hilichurls seemed equally as amused, dancing around the woman in joy as they watched her grovel and beg that they leave her alone.
"xiao, help!"
she cried his name once more in the same second that he summoned his polearm, throwing it through the shield of the hydro mage with enough force that it shattered, then summoning it once again to destroy the shield of the other. with all of the monsters exposed to the wind, he flew forward and sent the point of his weapon across their throats, ending their lives quickly and painlessly. no need for any more senseless violence than that which had already occurred.
"t-thank you," the woman breathed as she watched the bodies of the monsters disappear, turning to dust as any remaining life drained from their bodies. once they were gone, xiao stepped forward to help the woman to her feet.
"how did you know to call for me?" he asked shortly, slightly annoyed that such a minor incident had called his attention away from the inn. the woman flinched, and he sighed, lowering his head, "i apologize. i just meant that not many people know to call for me anymore. i'm surprised."
"oh! well, i have a friend who told me about an adeptus who helps those in danger. they said to call for you if i ever found myself in a need of help."
xiao sighed. of course.
"this friend—what is their name?"
"it's y/n. they live near the inn, just a few miles from–"
"i know," xiao interrupted with another sigh, "and where do you live? is there somewhere you would like me to take you?"
"just the inn is fine. i'm meant to be meeting them, actually. for the party."
xiao nodded at this small relief—no more time wasted, then. he took hold of the woman's shoulder and teleported to the edge of the crowd gathered outside of the inn. she wobbled slightly at the unexpected travel, but he simply held her elbow as she righted herself while he scanned the crowd for any sign of you. without his high vantage point, it was difficult to make out anyone beyond the border of the crowd, and he scowled.
"will you be alright on your own?" he asked the woman as he let go of her elbow. she nodded.
"yes, thank you very much. i am in your debt."
"it's no trouble. think nothing of it," he told her before he vanished, leaving her to weave her way through the crowd in search of you. xiao returned to his perch on the balcony, scanning the crowd once again for your familiar form.
what would usually be a fairly easy search quickly become far longer than he'd expected. you were nowhere to be seen, and after a third, then a fourth, and finally a fifth scan of the crowd, he took in a deep, calming breath and tried to listen for a call of his name or a sign of your presence within the inn itself.
nothing.
he reappeared on the outskirts of the crowd again before his panic could get the better of him, shoving past people until he spotted verr goldet behind the makeshift bar that had been put together before the party. she was pouring seemingly endless glasses of dandelion wine for the eager customers on the other side of the counter, meeting their demands with a patience that xiao envied.
she spotted him before he could speak, a small smile on her face as she continued to work on taking the orders of the partygoers.
"xiao," she greeted, "i'm surprised to see you. y/n told me that you'd be keeping your distance tonight."
"do you know where they are?"
verr paused, bottle of wine stilling in her hand as she glanced at him. her expression seemed to ask how he had possibly lost sight of you—she was, admittedly, one of the few people who felt comfortable telling him that you were perfectly safe without his constant vigilance.
"i haven't seen them, but they might've just gone to the bathroom. i'm sure they're fine."
right. of course. there were plenty of reasons why you wouldn't be in his direct line of sight. there was no real reason for him to get so worked up over momentarily losing track of you.
he glanced towards the main entrance of the inn. it was vacant of anyone but a few stragglers stumbling towards their rooms, spent from the excitement and the alcohol that had been flowing fairly freely as the night progressed. you were nowhere to be found.
"don't disturb the customers!" verr shouted after him as he strode towards the inn intently, his face a cloud of worry and frustration.
even though you usually pretended to be ignorant of it, xiao knew that you were more than aware of his tendency to hover. you would sometimes tease him about it, but you also understood how important it was that he knew you were safe. if you'd left, you would've signaled to him that you were going somewhere he couldn't see you.
if you'd gone willingly.
the thought had him moving faster towards the third floor where most of the rooms were located. he paused in front of the first one, wondering how much of a scolding he'd get from you, verr goldet, and zhongli if he barged into each room one-by-one until he found you.
it doesn't matter, he told himself as he lifted a foot to kick down the first door. it was just before he made contact with the flimsy wood that he heard something around the corner of the hall: the smallest sound of distress, and then a reprimand from a low voice to remain silent.
his weapon was in his hand before he even caught sight of the two figures illuminated only by the dim glow of the hall lamps. the man who had spoken was towering over a hunched figure in the corner of the room. he looked angry, and he held a limp arm in a tight grip as he tried to drag a barely-conscious human towards an open door.
xiao did not need to look down to know that it was you who was being dragged. he recognized you immediately, if not by your silhouette then by the familiar sound of your voice, so quiet that he likely wouldn't have picked it up had he been human. you let out a pained, terrified call of his name that made the man above you scoff, undeterred in his efforts to pull you to your feet.
in a single, precise blast of wind, the man was on the opposite end of the hall, clutching the back of his head where he'd hit it against the wall and groaning in pain.
xiao's weapon disappeared as he knelt at your side. he lifted your head onto his lap and held it firmly between his palms, studying your expression carefully. your eyes were lidded, and you looked like you were barely hanging onto consciousness. xiao felt anger swirl deep within him as he scanned you, searching for any sign of injury.
the skin that the man had been holding was irritated, circled with a red handprint that was already beginning to bruise. xiao picked it up gingerly and closed his eyes, willing breath into his lungs before it burst from him in an explosion of fury.
"xiao..." you breathed, eyes falling shut with the knowledge that xiao had come for you. the adeptus swallowed thickly, pressing a kiss to your wrist and laying it gently over your chest. he brushed your disheveled hair from your face and stiffened when he caught sight of the dark bruise on your cheek. you had gone limp in his arms, and he lifted you up at the same time that the vile man on the opposite end of the hall rose shakily to his feet.
"what the hell?" he grumbled, shooting xiao a scathing glare that the adeptus returned tenfold. the man blanched at the glare he was given, far more menacing than his own from the hundreds of years of practice that xiao had under his belt. "y-you attacked me. i could have you arrested for this!"
xiao didn't trust himself to speak. his fury was boundless, and he knew that if it was released, this man would be dead within seconds.
him, and most of the humans residing in the rooms surrounding them.
the man looked bewildered, both by xiao's silence and by the darkness radiating from him. he shifted as a thick aura of destructive intent pooled into the room—just a fraction of the rage that xiao felt—and attempted a hasty retreat for the stairwell.
morax, xiao called sharply as he moved to follow the man, i require your assistance.
zhongli appeared almost instantly in front of him, concerned expression from the rare use of his old name becoming grim at the sight of you limp in xiao's arms.
"what do you need?"
"please take them to bubu pharmacy."
zhongli didn't hesitate to reach forward as the adeptus carefully handed you to the ex-archon. xiao kept a hand on your cheek for a moment longer when you were secure in zhongli's arms, listening closely for the steady beat of your heart. when he was satisfied, he stepped back and nodded at zhongli.
the man disappeared immediately, and xiao felt something tighten in his chest at having you out of sight again. he trusted zhongli to take care of you in your vulnerable state, but not having you within arms reach after you'd been in danger was nearly enough for him to forget the man stumbling down the stairs, and instead go straight to bubu pharmacy.
he stood at the top of the stairs for a moment longer before he teleported to the bottom floor. verr goldet saw him instantly—though he knew that he wasn't being very subtle. the darkness that he felt boiling within him was probably consuming the space around him, which was likely for the best. it would help create a clear space for him to do what he pleased to the vermin that had finally reached the final set of stairs.
he vaguely heard verr calling for people to back away, herding them towards the bridge on the opposite side of the courtyard in anticipation of some kind of confrontation.
the man gave a shout of surprise when he spotted xiao at the bottom of the stairs, stumbling backwards and crawling up the stairs like a rat. xiao felt his mouth twitch, lip pulling back in a snarl, but he composed himself.
he took his time making his way towards the man, taking each step with deadly intent that he knew the cockroach could feel. his eyes were wide and filled with a delicious expression of fear that xiao reveled in. he generally didn't feel this sadistic need for blood, but this was different. this man—this...this animal—had hurt you. who knows how many others he'd hurt in the past.
you would be the last that he ever attempted to harm.
xiao covered the surrounding scene in thick shadows, sparing the onlookers from what was unfolding. he couldn't, however, mask the screams of a coward begging for mercy.
it took him little more than five minutes to take care of the mess he'd made of the stairway and contain the darkness that had pooled around him and the man. he was gone before the crowd could catch sight of him.
he was in front of bubu pharmacy in seconds, breathing as deeply as he could manage to keep his ever-festering rage in check.
"xiao," he heard zhongli say next to him, a hesitancy in his voice that xiao rarely heard. he looked up at the man and blinked, taking in the grave expression on his face.
"they'll be alright," zhongli said before xiao could even open his mouth, hands held neatly behind his back. there was a deep, unsettled frown on his face that was making xiao uneasy.
"but?"
"but...they were drugged. baizhu is trying to determine the exact substance that was used, but he said that it will do no lasting physical harm."
xiao felt something in his chest tighten at the thought of you being in such a vulnerable position in the few minutes that he was gone. you must've been terrified...
"xiao," zhongli's voice broke him from his spiraling thoughts—thoughts that were quickly becoming self-incriminating. "do not blame yourself for this."
"i left," xiao said simply, staring through the door of the pharmacy despite zhongli's pointed gaze insisting that he meet his eyes.
"the only one at fault is the man who did this," zhongli continued, "who, i assume, is not longer a problem."
xiao gave a single nod, and he was sure that he heard a sigh of relief come from the ex-archon.
"good," the man said coldly, "that's one less thing to worry about."
xiao glanced up at his former master, wondering what he was still doing here. surely the situation was being handled by baizhu, and with his own presence, there was no need for him to take up any more of the man's time with a situation born from his own inadequate vigilance–
"you're going to give yourself a headache," zhongli tutted, gliding past xiao towards the doors of the pharmacy.
"wait," xiao called, halting zhongli where he stood.
"yes?"
"i–" he grit his teeth, willing the words to get through to zhongli, "i left."
zhongli watched xiao for a moment before he returned to the adeptus' side.
"why did you leave?"
"a woman was being attacked," he responded immediately, "a few miles from the inn. she called my name."
"and do you think y/n would have forgiven you if you'd ignored a woman in need to continue watching over them?"
xiao felt his throat dry at this. it was true—even without the added stipulation of the woman being your friend, you would've been distraught to learn that he'd ignored someone's plea for help to keep watch over you.
but the one time he'd lost sight of you was the one time you'd needed him most.
you hadn't even been able to call for him.
a sadistic part of him wished he'd kept the man alive, if only to make him suffer further, but he knew that would bring him nothing more than a brief, fleeting feeling of satisfaction. it wouldn't change what had happened, and it wouldn't leave you any less scarred by the event.
"come," zhongli said after xiao had been given sufficient time to stew in his own thoughts, "you should be with them when they wake."
when he finally fought past the guilt clouding his mind and entered the pharmacy, you were still unconscious. baizhu explained the effects of the drug to him quickly—in small doses, it caused drowsiness and fatigue. A higher dose could render someone unconscious—much like the state that you were in now. xiao knew anger was still radiating from him, but he couldn't find the energy to try and hide it. how dare someone do this to you. they had no right to even look at you.
"xiao?"
a whisper of his name broke him from his thoughts, and he bent towards you with a gentle hand on your cheek.
"i'm here."
your smile made most of his anger drain away, and he did his best to return it. he knew he hadn't convinced you—you always seemed to see through his attempts to feigning emotions. you showed him mercy this time, likely too exhausted to do much more than keep your eyes open. xiao sat in the chair at your bedside and took your hand in his.
you closed your eyes again at his familiar touch, letting yourself drift off with the knowledge that you were safe.

Yo, I love your writings <33 Can you do the genshin men (The ones from Mondstadt and Liyue) with a gn!s/o who they saw chatting with someone and they thought they were flirting with their s/o but that was actually their brother. This just seems funny to me lol.
THEY THINK YOU'RE FLIRTING WITH SOMEONE ELSE
Tumblr media
Note : I am so sorry! I took like, more than a year off and just kinda lurked around this account while reading other fics so I didn't get to write here at all but I've missed it so I hope you don't mind me doing this request late, non! You also didn't specify which charas so I took the liberty of only doing three from each nation <3
Characters : Diluc, Kaeya, Venti, Xiao, Zhongli, Childe (hyv lists him under Liyue atm so idc he's included)
Warning/s : angst if you squint, jealous genshin men, possessive-ness? yandere if you squint reeeeaaal hard, established relationship
Tumblr media
DILUC
The wine tycoon doesn't take walks around Mondstadt often. He's either behind the counter or busy dealing with winery affairs in the comfort of his office at Dawn Winery.
And it just so happened that in one of his rare instances of browsing the stalls and shops, he spotted you down the street. He knew you'd be around here, probably taking a leisure walk and interacting with the city-folk like you usually did.
Always so friendly and everyone in Mondstadt seemed to like you. So much so, that in fact he can spot a stranger with his arm around your shoulder.
His red eyes squinted at the action, Sara's chatter falling on deaf ears as he watched you laugh at something the man said. Even throwing your head back at the action.
He always admired that about you, but now he could feel something heavy and unpleasant settle in his chest as he watched the scene so familiar to him.
Deciding he no longer wanted to watch, he marched over to confront you. Keeping his anger and pain at bay, he approached you and you appeared so excited to see him.
As if not realizing you have another man's arm around you!
His eyes locked on to the arm but both people remain oblivious to the conclusion he has come up with and you greet him so excitedly. "Diluc, I didn't expect to see you around the city!"
"Would you rather you didn't see me?" He asked through gritted teeth and you frown at the odd response.
You then shake your head to dismiss it and turn to the man beside me, you gesture to him with a fond grin and it made Diluc almost want to throw up right then and there.
"Uhm - I'd like you to meet someone."
The man grins at him. "This is my brother, (name). (Name), Diluc, my boyfriend."
Oh.
Diluc almost laughed out loud, but he stopped himself. Worried he'd weird you even further and only offered his hand with a smile, which your brother accepted. You watch the exchange happily, glad that the two most important men in your life are getting along so well!
Gone is the green monster and the heavy feeling in his chest. Diluc did feel guilty for jumping to conclusions and considering the possibility of you betraying him.
When you get home later, he confesses to you and apologized profusely but you laughed it off. Accepting his apology nonetheless and you both had a good laugh about it.
He apologizes by cooking dinner himself and dismissing the maids early so you two can have your alone time and enjoy the homemade dinner, just the two of you.
Tumblr media
KAEYA
Kaeya's eye narrowed at the sight of a stranger leaned against the bar counter and chatting with you so casually. He has on such a charming grin while you listen so attentively to whatever tale he spun.
He entered the tavern during his break. You both had agreed to meet here and have a meal together and you appeared more excited than usual but he didn't expect you to be so enamoured by a stranger instead.
He walks over, his eye never leaving you as you laugh and smack the guy's arm lightly. He frowns. You've never acted that way towards him?
He finally closed the distance and ended up right in the middle of you and the stranger. You grin up at him, greeting him with a wide smile.
"Hello there, sweetheart." He greets you, making a point to ignore the man who looked at him with a raised brow.
"Kaeya, great, you're here!" You gesture to the man beside you and beamed. "I'd like you to meet my brother, he's in town for business!"
Kaeya chuckles, mostly to himself. He should've known you won't be clueless enough to entertain a random man looking to flirt with you, and at the tavern at that!
Kaeya finally regarded the man with his own charming grin as if he wasn't imagining ways to use cryo to inflict pain on someone and offered his hand. "It's so very nice to meet you."
The man, oblivious to the previous transgressions, accepted with a curt nod. "Likewise."
Now, Kaeya would never admit it to you because he just knew you'd tease him endlessly!
But he did end up blabbering away the next time he got drunk and you teased him about it all morning which mixed with his hangover, wasn't great.
Tumblr media
VENTI
The man skips over the moment he sees you, not even noticing how you're engaged in a conversation with a man he's never met before and he knows almost everyone in Mondstadt city!
He jumps on you, wrapping you in a hug and you jump at the surprise but managed to burst out in a fit of giggles with him.
"Beloved! You didn't tell me you'd be visiting!" He'd say, kissing your already flushed cheek.
You hadn't expected him to put on such a display in front of your brother. You clear your throat, meeting your brother's eyes.
You internally groan, knowing he'd tease you to the abyss and back for the petname. His face can only be read as amused as he watched you two.
Venti, finally noticing the presence of another person turned to scan him with his bright green eyes. He raised a brow, looking him up and down and tightening his hold on you.
"And who might you be?"
Your brother laugh, holding his hands up in mock surrender while you almost die on the spot from embarrassment.
"Venti, this is my brother. Brother, this is Venti."
Venti relaxed them, shameless in offering his hand as if he wasn't glaring like a territorial cat earlier and your brother accepted it anyway, not offended at all.
You can only sigh knowing he will never let you live this moment down in the future.
Tumblr media
XIAO
The man isn't one to jump into conclusions, so he didn't think much of it when he spotted you chatting with a random man as you walked down the path towards Wangshu Inn.
Might just be a friend you met on the way or a kind stranger you're getting to know?
He only watched. Not wanting to disturb you two but when the man paused and reached for your hair, plucking a leaf off it and getting a bit too close than Xiao would've liked– he's on you in an instant.
You almost jump at Xiao's sudden appearance. Not yet used to his ability to just come and go. Still, you smile at him.
"Xiao!" You greet him and despite the bubbling anger in his chest, he manages to return it to you.
It is not your fault if some stranger decides to pull a move on you and because they didn't know any better.
You look down at his jade spear and frown, it's not often he walks around you brandishing his weapon. "Is something wrong?"
You almost screamed when he raised it and pointed the tip of the sharp spear at your brother who held his hands up on instinct.
"Archons! Xiao, stand down!" You tell him but he won't budge, you can see the frown evident on his face. "Please, he's my brother!"
Oh okay.
Xiao puts down the spear and it disappears into thin air as if it wasn't there in the first place and regards the man with a less intense glare. His face neutral, but your brother remained scared.
"Ehem– as I said, this is my brother."
Xiao nods at him. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you as well." Your brother choked out, knowing he's lying to himself because he was terrified of this short man just moments ago.
Tumblr media
ZHONGLI
Zhongli isn't really one to get jealous, or at all. Actually, he's never been jealous throughout the duration of your relationship.
He trusts you wholeheartedly and knows that no one could possibly compare to him, the one and only lord of geo. So really, he's not at all threatened.
He only regarded your frame being entertained by some stranger with very little interest. Sure, he wants to approach you but figured to watch for a bit.
Being a person who works under Ningguang, people often approached you for all the wrong reasons and in an attempt to get something out of you.
That's why you fell for Zhongli who did not want anything of the sort, only enjoying tour company and you loved listening to his tales(voice).
After a few moments, he decided to finally join you and you grin up at him. "Zhongli, come, sit."
He obliged. Occupying the empty seat beside you and turning to the man.
"My name is Zhongli, who might you be?"
You answered in your brother's stead. "This is my brother! He surprised me with a visit, I didn't even know he was in town!"
Zhongli only nodded. And then turned back to the man to present a smile. "A pleasure to meet a family of Y/N."
And then you continued chatting for the rest of the meal and by the end of it, your brother is completely taken with Zhongli. You expected as much, your boyfriend is always so good at making people like him with very little effort.
And his future visits would be him seeking out Zhongli and teasing that he didn't come for you which you'd smack his head for.
Tumblr media
CHILDE
This man is so extra that even if it's a girl or a kid loitering around you, he's already marching over.
And so it was no surprise when he appeared right behind you as soon as he saw you talking to some man and having a good laugh amongst yourselves.
"What's so funny?"
You jump and whip your head to glare at him. "Childe? Where did you come from?"
Childe only shrugs and wraps an arm around your waist, tugging you close against him and scanning the stranger with his eyes.
His face remained smiling but you could tell that he's already planning where to hide the body (a joke, i think). So before it escalates, you nudge the ginger with your elbow and gesture to your brother.
"My brother came to visit, a fine opportunity to introduce you two."
The switch in Childe was unnoticed by the stranger but you knew him well enough to finally relax as he grabbed the man's hand and vigorously shook it. "Quite a pleasure to meet my in-laws! You must've travelled far!"
You ignore him regarding your brother as if you two had already been married and only relaxed now that he's abandoned all the threats that were probably swirling in his head.
End.

hi!!! can i please request nsfw hcs of kaeya with a sub female reader who really likes being praised but is kinda embarrassed about it <3
Female Reader Who Is Embarrassed By Praise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaeya took notice of how flustered you became with any compliment.
Even simple, innocent ones in public from others seemed to make you flustered and embarrassed.
He started sweet enough, complimenting your outfits and talking about your hair.
But soon, he started teasing you with it.
He would wrap his arm around your waist while the two of you were in public, leaning over and whispering in your ear.
"I love that dress on you. I can't wait to tear it off you later tonight."
You would always get so embarrassed, but you always found yourself craving more of his praises.
When the two of you are in the bedroom, and he starts praising you, you become a wreck.
"Are you getting all flustered for me, pretty baby?"
When you go down on him, it's just a constant stream of praises falling from his lips.
"Just like that, your so good at this, princess."
He adored how red your cheeks get and that you can't ever look him in the eyes when he compliments you.
The praises and compliments don't stop even after sex. Kaeya is the king of aftercare with you.
"You did so good." "You look so beautiful like this."
Tumblr media
Loved this request! I hope you enjoy <3

A, I, N, and X for Kaeya?
Tumblr media
✧.*Vulgar Language, graphic description of sexual organs, mentions of degradation, gentle sex and aftercare
༊*·˚ Sorry for the wait, classes just started so I've been a bit busy! <3
˗ˏˋFeaturing ´ˎ˗ Kaeya Alberich
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
He'll probably hold you in his arms, cradling you gently and reminding you how much he loves you. If it was a particularly rough session, he'd draw you a bath with scented oils and candles. He cares for you so much and wants to make sure you know it, so he makes sure you have everything you need. <3
Tumblr media
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
I think it really depends on the set mood. Sometimes sex with Kaeya is gentle, loving, as he plants comforting kisses all over your body, and other times it's heavy, erotic, and absolutely filthy. However, it can also be very playful, teasing, as the two of you share laughs during the deed.
Tumblr media
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
He would never say anything that would genuinely hurt your feelings. For this reason I honestly feel like he wouldn't care too much for degradation. He also wouldn't want to hurt you physically, outside of some light spanking. Other than that I feel like he's the type of guy to try anything once.
Tumblr media
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
He'd probably be pretty big to be honest, he's gotta get that confidence from somewhere. I feel like he would have a long, pretty cock. Maybe a vein running along the underside of it, which is rather sensitive. His tip is a cute pink color and also quite sensitive.

How do they kiss? Where do they liked to be kissed? [Mondstadt Men ft Dainsleif]
Diluc is very private with his affection. He’s more likely to be one for subtle hand holding if you two are in public, but when you two are alone he adores kissing your cheeks. Very quick but not fleeting; he’s more likely to give you one on your left when passing by only to turn around and kiss your right side with a sort of bashful furrow of his brow. He loves when you kiss him on the nose though. He finds it cute in his own way, a sort of silly gesture he allows himself to laugh at so he can kiss you properly.
Kaeya, unlike his step-brother, is very open with his affection. Loves pulling you to his side and kissing your temple, no matter how much taller or shorter you are compared to him. It’s a sort of sign of trust; he always closes his eye whenever he does it, a signal letting you know that he’s comfortable around you to put his guard down for a second. Contrary to temple kisses, he loves when you pull him into a suprise kiss on the mouth. He likes laughing into you and wrapping his arms around you, gladly reciprocating the kiss with affection and passion.
Albedo is probably the least affectionate, even in private. He prefers quickly kissing your palm before continuing his work, and sometimes just holds your hand in his as he writes notes. He enjoys a kiss every once in a while, but he’s more interested in just spending time with someone he enjoys. If you kissed him on the cheek, though, he’ll blush and be wordless for a moment before gently kissing you back. It’s rare for him to do that; most times he’ll just stick with taking your hand in his to kiss.
Dainsleif is one for very soft neck kisses. He likes giving them when he holds you, how little he does, enjoying knowing that you’re a living being and that the moment is concrete in time. He isn’t super affectionate, more likely to enjoy taking you by the hand or shoulder to lead you out of danger or for you to do the same to show him around. If you kiss him on the mouth he’ll turn a lovely shade of red, though.

Genshin Modern AU Headcannons: Texting Styles
Warning: There’s cursing (because someone was being rude and an ass to one of the characters OTL) and mentioning of 18+ things.
Characters: Diluc, Kaeya, Dainsleif, Ajax/Tartaglia All imagines are with a GN reader. 😘
(Note: I’m listing these headcannons under my Genshin modern AU, but these headcannons work as standalones regardless of my AU ideas.)
Diluc: He keeps things simple and to the essentials.
Proper Grammar.
Keeps autocorrect and autospelling, auto anything is kept enabled. If there's quality-of-life functions to be utilized, they will be used.
Will definitely unsend/delete messages if there are enough errors or just doesn't like it and then retypes and sends it again. Otherwise, he’ll follow up with text correction with an asterisk (though it's rarely seen unless it's a particular slang or name spelling).
Rarely uses "lol" in favor of "haha" OR even rarer, the laughing emoji when he’s actually laughing harder than usual.
He does use some some abbreviations and convenient shorthands that just help with cutting down on time spent typing.
On that note of emojis, Diluc uses emojis sparingly, but you'll see it more often if he feels that he’s close to you and will sound a little more casual.
He is most often using the normal smiley, 🙂.
Tends to keep his texts short and to the point, but once in awhile....you may see longer texts from him if he’s explaining something. Nothing outrageous because he gives rather clear instructions and cuts all the fluff. That’s typical of him.
While they are to the point, they aren’t curt or cold (unless your POV is kaeya....in which that case Diluc really becomes curt).
You’ll feel his emotions come through. His warmth will show up in his text when he’s concerned or his silent anger....when he’s angry....(I encourage all to evacuate the premise if you feel endangered in any way.)
How long does it take for him to reply: He’ll usually get back to you or he’ll give you a timeframe of when he’ll get back to you or answer your text/inquiry. He’s usually on top of his responses unless he’s super busy, in which he’ll apologize for the long wait and get right into responding.
He’lll try not to leave you on read, unless of course the aforementioned busy state he could be in considering his workload or assignments OR unless you’re Kaeya. Yeah, he can be cold to his bro. Just doesn’t have time for his shenanigans sometimes.
Sample of getting back to you about your proposal:
D: Just looked through it. I have made notes on the margins for suggestions. Of course, these are just suggestions. Feel free to ignore them if they’re irrelevant. D: All right, ttyl. Send me your revised proposal if you want me to look through it again. D: Just finishing up my own and submitting it before the end of the week.
Sample of him texting you if you two are dating:
D: Morning, y/n.🙂 D: Just wanted to text you that before you get out today. D: I’ll be honest. I couldn’t sleep last night. Probably just nerves. Kaeya would laugh at me if I told him, which is why I won’t. D: I can’t wait to see you in a bit. D: Please text me if anything comes up.
Yes, yes. He’s so sweet. Please let me have him. Also, he definitely debated which emoji to send in that second to last text. “Is another smiley emoji too eager? How about 🥰? No...no. That’s too much.” It reminded him too much of what Kaeya would do and he just mentally eyerolls or groans in response. The reminder causes him pain and makes him feel embarrassed. “Maybe I shouldn’t add an emoji at all? Ugh. There...I sent it.” By the way, he really wanted to send this emoji, 😌, because that’s how he felt, but didn’t. Although, he immediately starts second guessing himself and wishes he could retract it, but ultimately accepts it. He accepts his fate.
When the two of you start dating for longer, he won’t have to second guess himself anymore because you’ll know him so well. Be easy on him, he doesn’t have any dating experience, but boy does he try. He tries his best on top of Kaeya laughing at him at every turn.
As a side thing, Diluc would be real shy and quiet whenever you guys are talking on the phone because he feels like it’s surreal to hear your voice over the phone. He feels like phone calls are more intimate. Staying quiet is a good way for him to hide his nervousness from you.
Kaeya: He keeps things classy and relatively chill. 😉
Proper Grammar and stylistically due to his literature background.😏
Keeps auto-punctuation enabled, but has autocorrect/auto-spelling off because he knows how to spell (occasionally forgets the spelling of the flavorful and less used words), but also because he just likes to use slang and make sure his phone doesn’t autocorrect the names he types.😕
He’ll use abbreviations in texting like your lols and lmaos, ttyl, imo, and so on, Not the type to make up abbreviations of his own unless they’re inside jokes between you two.😀
Yes, he’ll use quotations as “air quotations” and expect to see italics for all things sussy.
If you haven’t caught on yet, yes, the smug emoji is representative of him 😏 and is seen in most of his texts because he knows the tea and wants to know other people’s tea.
You can kind of expect him to use all the emojis at his disposal except the really loud ones like: 🤬🥵😭🙀. Yeah sorry, he doesn’t do cat emojis...but he might make exception if the person he’s dating likes cats.🤭 Anything to please his partner or bring a smile to his friend’s face.
Definitely changes the hand emojis to match his skin tone. No doubt about that.💅
His text lines is variety just depending on what he’s talking about or replying, there’s no real limit, except I don’t think he would ever do those longgggggggg paragraph texts. Yeah, that’s not very classy to him.😕 If he needs to type that much, he might as well call them or meet up.
It might be hard to discern if Kaeya is being sarcastic or genuine sometimes because he always seems to be hiding behind his emojis. Sometimes he’ll use emojis deliberately to mask what he’s really feeling... 😟
How long does it take for him to reply: He almost always has his phone on him and on hand, so it’s safe to say he’ll respond relatively quickly if not right away, but once in awhile he might just leave some people on read if it’s the non-essential or some pesky acquaintances. 🤭
The thing about him is, he talks to nearly everyone, but how close he is to each is varied and actually only talks to a few on a daily basis who he can share all his gossip and personal updates like Diluc, Dainsleif, Rosaria, and Lisa. The list goes on for a little longer...
Sample of texting to Lisa:
K: Remember how I told you about Beidou from L College being Ninggaung’s lackey for the week?👀 K: Well, I think they’re dating now.🤭 K: I have heard so much from my sources as of late, I can’t wait to share it with you. K:🧐 K: I think this is enough to warrant a phone call or a coffee break. You let me know.
Sample of texting you to go out on a date:
K: Hey there, y/n. K: I wanted to ask you in person, but I didn’t get the chance with you speeding off to your next class. As usual...😩 K: But I was hoping we could meet up for a coffee date at the spot I was talking to you about. 😏 K: Anytime is good with me. I’m pretty flexible. 😉
Confident guy, but secretly hoping you have time and won’t reject him right away. He was typing, “unless you don’t want to...,” but then deleted it because he really wanted you to say yes and doesn’t want to leave an inch for you to turn away from him.
He enjoys phone calls more than Diluc for any situation. Hearing him laugh or chuckle through the phone is a treat. Not to mention whenever he hums a “hmm” lowly. Ohhh, it’s delectable.🤭 If only he knew how it makes Kaeya simps feel to hear all that.😩
Dainsleif: At this point, he really should just trademark the thumbs up emoji.
I’m sure you can pick up from the short blurb that Dain really doesn’t type much at all and will mostly just uses some hand emojis to respond to most texts. Honestly, it should be talent.
Sometimes it can drive some people nuts over what he means when they’re texting him something urgent like “omg, I’m having a panic attack,” and he just goes “👍.“ Like do you mean, “cool story bro” or “good on you for dying right now.”
Maybe he doesn’t care, but people will never know because he doesn’t really make it known. I mean...you have to be either the bravest or angriest person ever to confront him about it. Most times, I think people just leave it at that because it might hurt their pride a little knowing what he really thought. The guy can be pretty blunt and cold.
Honestly, he might not even get to text a thumbs up emoji when you’re having a panic attack because he’s not always on his phone. Especially, when he’s working and he’ll see the text like....god knows when. Although, as someone who I consider as tech-savy, he can always link up his texts to his laptop. So, I guess he straight up either silence the texts or ignore that text....I’m kidding, he would have never ignore something that dire if he has the person on his contacts (and kept that contact...) Thank goodness he’s not in the medical field.
He’s definitely the type you want to talk to in-person if you want his honest answer. Texts are only so good to a certain point.
Texting is for scheduling for meet ups or phone calls. Or simply a way for him to get quick updates from someone.
Needless to say, his texts are super short, if he types anything, and even more to-the-point than Diluc’s.
Yeah, he’s not a great conversationalist over texts at all.
He’s quite infuriating to those who are fast texters or prefer texting over to phone calls.
However, he’s not entirely neglectful. It just depends on who is sending him texts.
He doesn’t use a whole lot of punctuation, but his texts aren’t long so they’re very clear
How long does it take for him to reply: Well.....it depends. If you’re not high on the list of priority, maybe never. He’ll straight up leave you on read like what he does to Kaeya sometimes, but Kaeya finds ways to grab his interests, which leads Dain to reply sooner than usual.
Sample of texts with someone from the same major as him:
Monday 7:06 PM Guy: Did you manage to recover the files for Fred? Dain: 👍 Guy: Awesome👍
Wednesday 8:23 PM Guy: We just arrived at Jerry’s party! where u at? Dain: 🦶 Guy: I’m assuming ure walking over then... Wednesday 9:30 PM Guy: Dude, it’s been like a hr, where u at? Guy: People are starting to wonder if ure coming at all... Guy: Please get here soon! Wednesday 11:43 PM Guy: Dude, did u leave early? I don’t c u anywere. [Left on read.]
Thursday 1:45 PM Guy: Man screw u. I heard u left with cynthia! Bet u guys screwed!! Guy: Fak u, thinking ure the shyt or something! [Contact deleted. Conversation deleted.]
They did indeed have s*x only because she asked nicely and Dain was not in a relationship. Dain’s a gentleman who doesn’t mind casual s*x, but also who is he to deny a nice lady asking politely (or anybody asking politely in general😉). Beats hanging with douchebags. He has no time for drama or toxicity. He cuts them off right away.
Sample of a text to you when you’re dating him:
Dain: Hey Dain: I thought I should text you something like you told me to Dain: I’m having PM classes today from 5 to 10 today Dain: But I’ll be free outside of that Dain: Let me know if you need me for anything Dain: We can meet up for lunch if you want You: Sure! Dain: 👍
Now, I know what this all sounds like, but let it be known, he is not a player. In fact, when he’s dating someone, the other person is more likely dump or cheat on him because he’s actually super faithful to his partner. S*xy times are reserved only for his partner if they so wished it. Unfortunately… sometimes the other person just doesn’t share the same level of commitment as he does...🥺 By the way, that’s considered a lot of texting by his standards and expect it to continue because that’s how committed and serious he is.
Ajax/Tartaglia: He’s normal, I don’t know what to talk about.🙃
There’s not a whole lot of characteristics to be picked out from his texting styles other than the fact that he always seems to reply to you when you least expect him to like....immediately replying to you even though you’re sending him texts at 3 AM. Like...does he even sleep?
That and his arsenal of emoji usage: 🤗🤭😑😧😲🥺😩😈 🥰😘🤯😃😉😎🥳🙃
He is one emoji beast and every one of them can immediately help you evoke the expression he has at every given moment. At least it’s nice to know how he’s feeling.
How long does it take for him to reply: Not long as long as he’s conscious. If he’s sleeping, well sometimes he’ll wake up to the sound of his phone pinging because he doesn’t really set it to silent mode except when he has class or during a movie. He usually has his phone on ring because he’s always there when you need him. He’s there for both his family and friends, and as long as he’s alive, he’ll continue to commit to his loved ones. (This only possible for someone as crazy as he is...or beastly...)
Sample of him replying to your 3 AM texts:
3:21 AM Ajax: Everything alright? It’s not like you to text this late...😐 You: Yeah, but isn’t that same for you? Ajax: Er...I might’ve had coffee too late in the afternoon? Ajax:😩 You: 🤭 A latte again? Ajax: Yup, couldn’t resist.... They were having a chestnut praline latte promotion and they were HALF OFF!!!!😋 Ajax: I may or may not have drank a little more than I should have🙃 You: And you didn’t invite me... You:😞 Ajax: Hey chin up, it’ll be my treat tomorrow 😉 Ajax: WAIT! I mean...my treat in a few hours🤣🤣 You: That’s true!!!🤣🤣 Ajax: So I’ll see you in a few...and then you can tell me what’s going on ok? You: Yeah, that sounds good Ajax:😃👍
Best bro and he’s the same if not more with his siblings. He’s always there to support his people. He’ll schedule a meeting with people as soon as he can if he senses anything is wrong. Heck, he might just show up on your stoop or front door if it’s serious enough. He’s just that kind of guy and you can’t hide from him either 🙃... “You can run, but you won’t get far...” (Cancers are lowkey scary in how much they care sometimes....)
Sample of him texting you when you’re dating because:
Ajax: y/n..... Ajax: I miss you....😩 You: Ajax...it’s only been 2 days? You:🤨 Ajax: Yeah, but we could have shared 6 meals in those 2 days you know? Ajax:😧 You: Ajax, don’t ask for the impossible. Ajax: It’s not impossible if...say we’ve moved in together somewhere?🤗 You: What You: Wait! You: Hold on! You: Woah, let’s slow down a little bit here... Ajax: ok....😞 You: Right You: We can’t rush... Ajax: If you say so...😉
Be careful with this one.... If you have your own place, don’t be surprised if he starts sleeping over at your place more often or him trying to get you sleep over at his....he’s already started to get you comfortable with the idea and he won’t stop there. No...then he’ll start luring you in with his traditional style home cooking. Ho ho. Don’t let him lure you into it. No, you must resist! Resist those Russian pancakes. Hey, you! I meant food not the Russian pancakes on his body. *slaps your hand* No touchy! Once you’re onto him, you’re a goner.
Btw....here are those Russian Pancakes and a recipe. Yumm.

Thank you for reading this far!!
These headcannon posts are pretty experimental for me, but they’ve been fun to type up and think about.
Low key Kaeya’s texting style to ask someone out on a coffee date is pretty similar to what Tartalini would do as they both enjoy using winky emojis and are pretty flirty, but gotta diversify the texts and situations to deliver a breath of scenarios.
I had headcannons for Ayato’s texting style too, but I ran out of steam towards the end. So, I’ll just have to save those for another time. I really wanted to elaborate on why I would think Dainsleif is open to casual s*x, but I feel like that could be a whole post on it’s own, so I tried to refrain from it taking over his section. After all, this is suppose to be on texting styles and their tendencies. 😉
I just hope you enjoyed reading it! If you’re interested in more of my modern AU headcannons, you check it here!

The brutal change in your life was getting hard to get used to, you knew and loved this world but living in it was totally different. Especially, when you were someone they looked up to, but you never asked or were prepared for this.
You felt so tired, not abled to handle the thoughts conquering your brain. Missing your old world, even for its imperfection, they kept saying it wasn't your true home, but yet, all the memories you had were there, they ignored that, just brushing it off as a distraction from your path to them. The worries overtaking of how you were going to live up to their expectations as their God, you were just a simple human with now a million of people watching your every move. The overwhelming praises that were thrown to The Creator, thanking whatever impact you supposedly did on them, but for all the sorrow, your name was cursed from everyone's lips, it was like they set you up and expected you to take the fall.
In this moment, Kaeya was next to you, sent for protection by the knights, even when you requested to have time for yourself, outside the city. He didn't have any choice, but he understood your discomfort, unlike many, he saw you as a human first. He knew the feeling of being thrown in a new place and expected to serve your role, when you were tore between where was your true home, so he stayed silent, letting you some space to think.
That was until he heard loud and short breathing, he turned his head to see you, hands on your mouth, trying to stop the sound. The uncontrollable tears fell like a waterfall, you closed your eyes trying to brush off the tears as the landscape became blurry. You didn't want anyone to see you like that, but suddenly a pair of arms found themselves around you, you were met with a cool chest, now realizing how hot your body was as the burning sensations cooled off.
"Hey... take a breath. Everything is alright."
You gasped for air when you did, you really tried, but it just made it worse, and the words didn't want to go out to say you couldn't do it. You felt Kaeya taking both of your hands in his own and pressing them gently against him.
"Calm down, just follow me. Breath in and out, like this."
You followed his movements as your pace slowed down. He whispered encouraging words in a gently tone, every of his actions felt like he was a natural, he was very calm and careful, nobody would have recognize his usual facade he put on for others. He stroked your back and hands for a while, feeling that your body relaxed he moved a bit to see your face who was buried in his jacket, so he softly put his hand on your chin to lift your head up, and cleaning the tears that tainted your cheeks.
"There we go, you did so well, I'm proud of you, Y/n."
Your heartbeat went faster, but not because of the anxiety that invaded you, no, it was his simple but loving words with his soothing voice that brought reassurance, you wanted to let it all out to him, but his hands made you lose focus and words.
"I don't know fully what's going on, on your mind, but know that you can rely on me, this isn't the easiest situation but you will not go through this alone. While, I would like to be a bit selfish and tell you that I can be the only person you can lean on, I know I'm not alone to think that."
The only response you could give was a tight hug, that he returned. Your arms were holding him like you were scared he would leave, but his fingers stroking your head told the opposite.
You blushed deeply when you realized that your face was in contact with his cleavage, face buried in it, you closed your eyes trying to not think about it and appreciate the embrace. But, it was ruined when you heard a small laugh escaping Kaeya's lips.
"Do you need to breath in and out again, darling?"
Your loving arms now pushing him out of you, embarrassed while he was smirking.
You went back to the serenitea pot with Kaeya at your side, you were scared to ask him to come as you feared that it would bother him, but, he almost immediately took your hand and led the way, even to your bedroom, with the only intention to make sure you would sleep with no worries before he left. You let him enter as you went to the bathroom, preparing for the night.
When you put yourself under the soft blanket, Kaeya blew out the candles, leaving the room in darkness with only the stars and moon for you to admire a bit of the man before you. He wished you a goodnight with his typical playful smile before opening the door.
"Kaeya."
He stopped midway, and slightly turned his head. Even if you didn't see much of his face, you continued to speak.
"Thank you."
He smiled to himself.
"No need to thank me. Just stay alright, okay?"
"Well, that would help me if you could be with me here."
You expected his usual teasing, as even you were surprised by your bold words, but the only thing that could be heard was the sound of a jacket and boots being removed. He went to the empty place of the bed and laid next to you. Without even saying anything, you both went for a cuddling position, holding each other dearly and legs intertwined.
"The others would kill me if they saw us like that, but it would be worth it if I die in your arms. Sleep well, I'll stay right next to you.

Angel
Title: Angel Pairing: Kaeya Alberich x Reader Word Count: 5.4k Warnings: Fight scene, Kaeya being a flirty little shit, vision bearer!reader Summary: You’re a new bartender with a questionable past, but Kaeya seems to find that interesting and offers you a tour of the city. There’s a lot he doesn’t know about you, though
Tumblr media
Mondstadt was known for its drinking habits. Everyone outside of the nation knew it, and the people in the city itself were aware of it. Even those who didn’t live in its walls, just in its borders, were all too fond of the wine that was sold in every corner.
So you were shocked when you arrived in the city and found only two taverns. You pictured at least four.
However, they were both filled every night in the exact way you pictured. And you could notice exactly how full from behind the bar, where Charles was training you to make every drink under the sun.
Your employment was recent and sudden. You’d arrived in the city, with a fresh resentment towards your home nation, looking to settle somewhere else. With no work, and lucky enough to run into Charles when he needed some help carrying a few loose crates, he’d offered you a job as a junior bartender.
“I see Diluc hasn’t fired you, yet,” Rosaria walks in and notices you behind the bar, making the simpler drinks with ease.
She was a regular both at the tavern and in the church, given she worked there. She’d been in the past three days you had been working and seemed to hang around the bar without talking to many other people. She didn’t drink too much, maybe one bottle over the course of the night, and had gotten more talkative with every drink.
You smile, “I still haven’t met him. I doubt he knows I work here.”
Charles grunts from beside you as he mixes a Moonlit Alley, “if he hired more staff I wouldn’t have to do it myself.”
It was a little odd to not know your boss, but you also weren’t eager to. He sounded a little terrifying from what everyone said about it. Plus, you weren’t sure he’d like the idea of an ex-treasure hoarder working at his bar.
Charles, once you’d explained your situation, had been okay with it. You’d told him about taking the job without the details, being left behind by the group to take the fall for it, and then spending a month in jail. At least now it was a story to tell to people who asked about you. You wouldn’t have even had to resort to such sketchy jobs if it wasn’t for the fact that Liyue people weren’t eager to help someone without money.
Mora was the moral compass of your home nation.
“He’ll show up someday and figure it out,” Rosaria takes one of the empty bar seats, “until then, I’d like a bottle of dandelion wine.”
You had already been reaching onto the shelf behind you for her favorite, “you know, Rosaria,” you chuckle, “when someone who’s worked here for three days knows your usual, you may have a problem.”
“It’s not a problem until I can’t do my job,” she hums, uncorking it with one of her long finger guards, “if you think I have a problem, wait until you meet some of the people I work with.”
Charles hums, “is it the weekend already?” he asks.
“Sadly, it’s true,” Rosaria says glumly and takes a drink from her bottle, “I saw them on their way when I walked in.”
You look up from your mixing cup as you drop in a leaf of mint, “who?” you ask, “you guys sound like death is on his way.”
Charles shakes his head and pours the liquid from his own cup into a tall glass, “It’s just the knights,” he explains, “it’s their regular day. They can get a little…chaotic, at times. But it makes for good business.”
The Knights of Favonius. You hadn’t had much of a run-in with them since coming to the city, and you hoped to keep it that way. Every interaction you’d had with authority in the past had never been good, and you didn’t want to continue that streak. At least behind the counter, you would have less of a chance of smashing heads with them.
“At least we’re good for one thing.”
The door to the tavern opens loudly, creaking with the need for oil on its hinges. That voice is the first one that you hear of many as a group comes pouring into the doors. Sliding the drink you’d just made to its customer, you look up to see exactly how many people you were about to deal with.
Charles laughs, “I’m sure the owner would agree with you.”
The man approaching the counter gives a devious grin. He had deep blue hair, a long strip from the base of his neck draping over his shoulder, and one crystal eye exposed to the world. The other was covered with a black patch. He was dressed in expensive-looking clothing and accessories.
You knew he hadn’t been here in the last three days. You would remember the way he walked, like the world would bow to him if he asked.
“You’re here early,” he approaches Rosaria from behind, who doesn’t react to his appearance.
It seems she was the only one who didn’t care. You could see a group of female merchants in the back corner, whispering and giggling as they all looked toward him. He must be the talk of women in the city, the one everyone wants to grab the attention of.
Immediately, you turn to the next man who was waiting to have his order taken.
A drunk bard who went by Six-Fingered Jose. For whatever reason. You could tell he only had five fingers on each hand, and you didn’t dare ask about it.
“How can I help you?” You ask politely, ignoring the conversation the man and Rosaria were about the indulge in.
Jose hiccups, “one Love Poem,” he demands and then grins, “I’m very good at those, by the way.”
You give a smile, “as a bard, I’m sure you are.”
After getting put behind the bar with Charles, you learned quickly that you would be given a generous amount of tips if you pretended to be interested in whatever everyone had to say. Most of the time, that meant indulging in their flirting games and pretending they were wooing you. You weren’t the best at pretending to be invested in the conversation, but the drunker they were the easier it was.
“I have written a million love poems,” he assures you, “but Donna doesn’t want anything to do with them.”
You put a cup down on the bar, shaking the mixer in your hands, “I’m sure she will,” you say, not knowing who this girl was, “you just have to catch her ear enough to listen to them.”
He a solemn nod, as if you were giving him a piece of unforgettable advice, “maybe you’re right.”
Pouring the drink into his cup, you slide it in front of him to encourage him to take it and drop the conversation. And he does, practically shugging it as he walks away. The people of Mondstadt were known for their drinking, and you were starting to see why the longer you spent in the bar.
“Hello, there.”
You jump when you turn back the counter of customers and someone is leaning a little too close to the bar. The man with the eyepatch and the confidence of a king is looking at you, a smirk on his face. Charles is turned to the other side of the bar, making this side now yours to tend to.
“Hello,” you say, placing your mixer into the bowl of dirty dishes. You give a polite smile, “can I get you a drink?”
The man hums, “you’re a new addition to this place,” he comments and rests his chin on his hand, “I would’ve noticed you, I’m sure.”
Another flirt, you think bitterly. Of course, he was. He was pretty, and he knew it from the way he held himself. From the way Rosaria rolled her eyes, you wondered if this was a common occurrence with him. To flirt with any new face he sees.
“Three days new,” you agree, “still learning, so anything above my level I’ll get Charles.”
“I’d prefer something from you,” the man, name still unknown, says with a hum, “so surprise me.”
You shrug and turn around. If he wanted something you could make, then you knew exactly what to give him. You take one of the many bottles of dandelion wine off of the display shelf and turn around to place it on the bar in front of him.
You smile, “hope you like it, sir. Have a nice night.”
Rosaria gives a sound somewhere between a laugh and a scoff from the chair beside him, and his single visible eye seems to glint in the bar light. You wondered if anyone had ever turned down his advancements before, or if everyone fell to his feet when he used a voice as smooth as butter.
“Where have you been all my life?” He asks, grabbing the bottle from the counter.
Your smile is almost a mimic of his, “jail, mostly.”
The laugh from Rosaria this time is a little louder, a hint that the wine was starting to get into her system. He also laughs, though it's softer and almost like a song to your ears. He was good. Very good. What was he doing in a tiny tavern like this? Liyue would be overjoyed to have a man like him among them.
“Captain Kaeya,” Charles speaks from the other side of the bar, “I hope you’re not trying to scare off my help. Diluc is going to try soon enough, I’m sure.”
Captain Kaeya? You tried not to look too shocked by the title. He came in with the Knights, so it was obvious that he was with them. But the title Captain was a little higher than you were assuming he was at. Maybe your jail joke was a little too far.
Kaeya hums and turns his head to face your manager, “run away a pretty face like theirs? I’d never dream of it, Charles. I’m sure my brother is more than capable of that himself.”
And the brother of your boss? Archons, maybe you should just keep your mouth shut more often. You tried to play it off by not showing your embarrassment.
“Captain Kaeya?” You mention, reaching for the rag that was waiting to be used under the bar so you could clean out the dishes.
He turns back to you all too quickly, uncorking the bottle you had handed him. He takes a step away from the bar, giving a dramatic bow, still holding his drink.
“Cavalry Captain Kaeya, at your service.” He says and then brings himself back up to a standing position, “it seems we’ve spent time on opposite sides of the law, stranger.”
You frown and turn your back to him while grabbing the bucket of dirty dishes, “please ignore my last comment, then.”
“Why? It’s refreshing.”
“Oh Archons,” Rosaria says, “I can’t take this flirt-fest anymore, I’ll be anywhere else when you’re done.”
When you turn back around, she’s already walking away in the direction of the stairs. Probably up to the second floor, where not many patrons would go. But your eyes went back to Kaeya, who was taking a seat where she once was.
“I haven’t seen you here,” he repeats his comment from earlier, “when did Charles convince you to step behind the bar?”
There didn’t seem to be an out of this conversation. But if he wasn’t looking at you in disdain already, then you didn’t see what you could say that would turn him away. Plus, his complete attention seemed to be on you.
“Three days ago,” you admit and begin wiping out the mixing cups you guys had used.
Kaeya leans an elbow on the bar, and his cheek rests on his fist, “I hope the city’s been kind since you arrived.”
“It’s a lot better than where I’m from.” You admit with a polite smile. If this is who you ended up talking to, then you wouldn’t be complaining.
“And where would that be?”
“Is this an interrogation Captain?” You tease, blowing away the question with a smile, “I’ve never seen you here before, and you come in with nothing but questions.”
He hums, eye glinting and lifting his head from his hand, “is that not how you get to know someone? I’ll be here an awful lot from now on, so I think we should know each other.”
You figured he’d been going to the Cat’s Tail, the only other tavern in town, and had ventured in here for a change of pace. Maybe he would go back soon enough when he got tired of talking to you.
“Liyue,” you sigh an answer, “can’t say I enjoyed it though, or the people there.”
“Tragic,” he says, “how anyone could make an angel like you unwelcomed is beyond me.”
“Angel?” You laugh, “I just told you I’ve been to jail and you call me an angel?”
Kaeya gives a shrug and takes a drink from the wine bottle, “I like to think I’m a good judge of character,” the bottle swirls as he brings it away from his lips, “and everything about you screams gift from the archons to me.”
The heat that rises to your cheeks is almost instant, but you try to push it back down. This man definitely knew how to flirt, you’d give him that.
“So, Angel,” he keeps going with his nickname. Probably because you haven’t given him your actual name yet, “have you seen much of our city? If not, I’d be more than happy to spend my day off tomorrow showing you around.”
“You’re really going to extra mile,” you laugh and realize you’re getting to the bottom of the bucket of dishes, “do you offer everyone a personal tour?”
“Only pretty bartenders,” he says, “and Charles isn’t exactly my type.”
The laugh that escapes you is sudden and a little too loud for your comfort. It had been a while since you had actually laughed for any reason. You forgot how free it felt, and you tried not to let the blush on your cheeks get worse.
Picking up the last dish, you find yourself nodding, “you know what? Sure. I’d love for you to show me around.”
★★★★★★
Since you’d arrived, you’d been crashing at the Cat’s Tail Inn. If Angel’s Share had an Inn wing, you’d rather stay there. But you needed somewhere to stay until you had the mora to find a place in the city. Hopefully Margaret wouldn’t find out you worked for the competition.
The night had been spent talking to Captain Kaeya when you weren’t serving drinks with Charles. You ended up making him a Death After Noon when he finished his wine bottle, and the conversation continued until Charles called for last call.
Now you were preparing to spend a tour of the city with him. And, somehow, that was more nerve-wracking than a first day working at a tavern. You fussed over your clothes, something you didn’t have many of, and tucked away your vision under your top. Unlike many people here, you didn’t wear it out in the open. For no other reason than it didn’t match any outfit.
Kaeya was picking you up outside of the Inn this afternoon, in a few moments probably. You leave your room at the Inn, tapping your finger against your vision under your top for comfort.
“Bye, Rodger,” You pet the cat who sits at the top of the steps, “see you tonight!”
You shout a goodbye to Diona as you exit, the bartender hardly batting an eye at you. And then you’re out the front door, wondering if you would be a little early to the meet-up with Kaeya.
But he was already standing at the bottom of the front steps, leaning against the building as if he had been waiting for you. It catches you off guard.
“Oh,” you say, stopping on the steps, “I hope I’m not late.”
Kaeya looks up when you speak, and smiles when he sees your concerned expression, “I’m early, actually,” he assures you, “I was looking forward to spending time with you outside of the tavern.”
You descend the rest of the stairs, unsure of how to reply to his greeting for a moment. But he pushes off of the wall, and a hand comes from around his back. Between his thumb and forefinger is the stem of a Mistflower, its icy exterior melted and its blue center open and exposed.
“For you, Angel,” he says. How fitting, given his vision type.
Another blush that he brings to your cheeks. You take it with a smile and a bundle of nerves forming in your stomach. His nickname for you had stuck throughout the night.
“It’s Y/N,” you inform him, “you should probably know my name if you’re going to spend the afternoon with me.”
He seems to give your name a moment of thought, “beautiful, but I think I’ll stick with Angel.”
“Whatever works for you,” you shrug, though you can’t ignore the fact that the nickname makes you want to swing your legs like a teenager now that you’re hearing it outside of the musty tavern walls, “I have to admit, I didn’t think you were serious about giving me a tour.”
“I never joke about hospitality,” he says with a smile and holds out his arm for you to loop your own through, “it’s my top priority as Cavalry captain to make sure you feel welcomed.”
“You’re off to a good start,” you say as you latch onto his arm, still holding the flower he had given you.
With his free hand, Kaeya swoops in and snatches it from between your fingers. Before you can blink, its stem is slid between your ear and temple, decorating your hair with blue petals. Your stomach angrily flips and turns and threatens to make your knees go weak.
“Just wait until you see the time I have planned, then,” he assures you, “an angel deserves only the best.”
★★★★★★
Kaeya pulled out all the stops for your introduction to Mondstadt. From leading you around the city you haven’t had time to explore, showing you the cathedral and the statue of Barbados, to lunch at Good Hunter’s where he gave you the recommendation of the Sticky Honey Roast.
To now, when he’s leading you beyond the gates of the city to show you Windrise.
You had admitted to seeing the landmark, but didn’t have it in you to go and visit. Kaeya had told you this simply wouldn’t do.
“I’ll take you myself,” he says, “it’s a nice way to end the afternoon, wouldn’t you agree?”
So you two were walking past the guards, your arm looped through his and your flower still in your hair. When you pictured starting over, your immediate thought hadn’t been spending your afternoon with a handsome man, a Cavalry Captain. You figured it would be a while before you would feel comfortable enough with anyone.
“Captain Kaeya,” A knight at the door says as you two pass by, “there’s been an increase in hilichurl sightings close to the walls–”
“We’ll be fine, Swan, thank you.” He says, a stern tone in his voice when talking to his men.
“Yes, Captain,” he says and salutes as you two walk away from the safety of the walls.
You hum and watch the water of the lake as you walk above it. Ducks were floating along the water, and birds scattered as you walked over the bridge. It was still sunny, and there was a swift breeze around the two of you. The city of wind, you remind yourself. And freedom, the reason you had come so far in the first place.
“We’ll be fine,” Kaeya repeats to you, in a much gentler tone than he had said before. He seemed to have taken your silence as worry.
You shake your head, “I don’t doubt it,” you admit, “I’m just..admiring. It’s a beautiful city.”
“I suppose it is,” he says and takes you on a dirt road that you had passed on your way in a few days ago, “I guess I’ve just gotten bored of it. I’ve lived here my whole life.”
“A nice place to grow up,” you say, watching a squirrel scamper across the grassy fields that filled your line of sight, “Liyue is all mountains and vishaps around every corner.”
“An exciting life,” Kaeya chuckles, “I’m guessing a Vishap is what landed you behind bars, then?”
You laugh at the image. While you had multiple run-ins with the creatures, you tried to avoid them more than Treasure Hoarders. At least people can, sometimes, be reasoned with. Wild beasts were less likely to listen. When you were in that cell, though, you wished you would’ve taken on the vishaps instead of talking to that group.
“I’m afraid that’s my own fault.” You say, “when a man offers you a job with no details, don’t take it.”
“A hard lesson learned,” he ends his pushing of information there, and you’re grateful. He seemed like a kind man, Kaeya, but you were wary that giving more information would lead to him running and treating you like a criminal, “can you see the statue from here?”
He stopped you two on the top of a small hill, where you could see the Windrise tree like a beacon of hope. At its base was the statue of the Seven, of Barbados. It was glowing a faint blue, with a stone platform underneath it. At a distance, it was nothing short of beautiful. Your eyes shone as you watched its branches rustle and its crystal flies surround it.
“Wow,” you say, fingers twisting into Kaeya’s sleeve, “and you get used to this?”
He looks down at you, watching the way amazement takes over your features. The way your fingers clench onto his arm. And then he looks back at Windrise.
“Maybe not,” he says.
In the midst of both of you being distracted by the sight, no one noticed the being approaching on your side. Its red fur had seemed to be the top of a dendro slime for a moment, just a bundle that would leave you alone if you didn’t bother it first. And then it made a noise.
“Woooo!” There’s a burst of bright orange, and it’s suddenly directly beside the two of you.
An Abyss mage.
Kaeya’s arm twists away from your grip, and he’s grabbing you before you can even register what had suddenly appeared. He throws you back, behind him, and lifts his sword as a ball of fire is being thrown toward the two of you.
The ice coating his sword extinguishes the flames before they can touch him or you and the ice melts from the blade. You hadn’t even seen him reach for the weapon.
With an arm around your waist, and the other lifting his weapon, he looks back at you. His visible eye is darker than usual, his star-like pupil blown out in adrenaline. You can feel his entire body tense from where you are pressed against his side.
“Are you okay?”
“Um…yeah,” you say, looking over his shoulder at the mage.
It’s laughing up a storm, bouncing from foot to foot as it watches the two of you. It’s waiting for him to strike back, you realize. These things, while known, weren't very common in Liyue. Maybe the nation was just too big for them to be seen by travelers, or maybe they just liked the windy city better. You’d never seen one in person before.
Kaeya looks back at it as well before saying to you, “stay here, Angel.”
You opened your mouth to protest. To say you didn’t need to be protected. But his arm untwists from your waist, and he’s facing the opponent like a Captain. While Cryo wouldn’t be the best match against Pyro, you know you would be better. He didn’t know about your vision, though.
The mage whirls as Kaeya shoves the point of his sword in its direction. A stream of ice flies from it, coating the grass around them and almost piercing the mage itself. But it jumps, and a sheer bubble surrounds it. The ice bounces off and coats more grass instead.
The mage clearly had its sights set on Keaya, who was the only visible threat. You try not to think about the fact that you would think he looks very attractive if it weren’t for the fact that he was protecting you. The way his eyes are steeled over and focused, or the way his sleeves seem to strain to hold on around his biceps.
Okay, you could admit that he was attractive. But it's not the time to dwell on that.
Kaeya dodges its blasts of flames in an instant, an ice train following him as he chips away at the mage’s shield. And you wait until the mage has it’s back to you until it’s unaware of your existence completely.
And that’s when you decide to strike. Purple electricity tickles your palms, and the vision under your top is burning with a comfortable warmth. It felt like using another limb as if you were born with it and not gifted it in a moment of terror. With your hands extended, and your fingertips dancing with electricity, you focus your aim on its shield.
Sadly, your catalyst was left in your room at the Inn. Using your own body to channel the power of a vision would be more painful than using an object, hence why no one ever did it. But if you could land a good hit, you would only need to do it once. All it would leave you with was stinging hands.
The mage whirls and you see Kaeya glance behind the mage, where you were supposed to stay put. And before he can register that you’re glowing purple, a shot of lightning emits from your hands.
Directly in the center of the shield. And it disappears, the mage tumbling to the ground in confusion. It grumbles in an unknown language.
While Kaeya would undoubtedly be confused, he’s a trained knight. He keeps his focus on the fight, and easily finishes off the vulnerable mage. While you shake out your hands to the side, you remind yourself to never leave unarmed no matter how safe you felt.
“Y/N,” Kaeya speaks your real name for the frist time since he’d met you the previous knight.
You look back at him, and the finished Mage that was dissolving into embers as he spoke approached. You patted yourself on the back mentally for your good aim. It was a quick fight. And one that didn’t end in any injuries.
Kaeya’s hands reach for your own, which you were still shaking as if that would make the sting go away, “you’re hurt.”
“Hardly,” you say with a reassuring smile. Your palms, which his eyes are glued to in examination, are an irritating red as if you were sunburned. Lesson learned when it comes to being armed, “are you okay?”
His blue eye turns up to your face for a second, going back to look at the vision that’s still glowing brightly under your shirt from its use. And then he looks back at your face and gives the smallest of laughs.
“I’m fine,” he says, “do your hands hurt?”
“It’ll be okay by my shift tonight.” You say and go to take your hands away from his. But he doesn’t allow your hands to go free, instead holding tighter and running his thumbs over the red skin.
A thin sheet of ice covers your hands, like a cooling pack. Your tense shoulders seemed to relax when the slight pain subsided. Kaeya is shaking his head with that smirk on his face, though it seemed to be less teasing and more impressed now.
“You’re a vision bearer,” he states the obvious and lowers your hands, still holding onto them between your bodies, “Angel, you are one surprise after another.”
You try not to stare at his hands holding his, and instead look up at his face, which had relief painting its features.
“You’ll get bored of it,” you tease, referring to his comment about the monument you were supposed to be seeing right now.
“I could never,” he says and then drops your hands. But his touch doesn’t end there.
Instead, he reaches out to put his around your waist like it had been when he’d pulled you out of danger. The thin sheet of ice on your hands melts, dripping from your skin onto the grass below you. Your cheeks were heating up again, something he was very good at making happen.
“I should get you to a healer. It’s dangerous to use a vision without a weapon.” He tries to turn the both of you around to the city.
You reach up, adjusting the flower back to a comfortable place in your hair, and plant your feet firmly on the ground, “I was promised a tour of Windrise, Captain,” you remind him, “you’re not backing out because of a little scrap, are you?”
He looks down at his side, where you’re stubbornly refusing to move. His grip on your waist is tightening, as if he’s not sure if you’re truly okay. And his clouded gaze, looking from your face to your burned hands in contemplation.
“I’m okay,” you laugh and assure him of this small fact. One of your hands reaches up, gently resting the warm skin against his cheek, “I swear. Come on, Kaeya, let’s finish the tour, and then you can lead me wherever you want.”
Here comes the mischievous glint that seemed to live within him at all times, “a dangerous promise to make, Angel.”
“Head out of the clouds,” you warn and take your hand away from his face, “at least take me to dinner first.”
“Lunch wasn’t enough?” He laughs and begins leading you back in the direction of Windrise.
“Not for what you’re wanting, I’m sure.”

sex with me, so amazing
Tumblr media
or, genshin men as people i’ve hooked up with.
Tumblr media
who: multi/basically everyone (mentioned: childe, diluc, itto, kaeya, kazuha, zhongli)
what: drabbles; describing my hook ups and who in genshin would be like them. don’t take it too seriously.
wc: 2.1k
warnings: ns/fw and angst :)) just a little bit of angst though, mostly smut ofc :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. 8 inch cock. even when you take him down your throat the deepest you can go, until your eyes water and you gag, you still can fit 5 fingers between your lips and the soft hair on his pelvis. so thick you can’t wrap your hand around it. big, heavy, hot. so long that he has to stretch you out in order for it to fit inside.
the first time you see it, your jaw drops. “holy fuck,” you gasp. “I don’t think it’s gonna fit.”
“you’ll make it fit,” he says. “stop running away; be a good girl and take it.”
sometimes it really is too big, though, if he doesn’t take the time to stretch you out. after the first time of his cock being too big, hurting a little too much than it feels good when he tries to go all the way in, he never lets you or himself rush into things.
foreplay is methodical. he eats you out because he loves it. he loves the feeling of your hands fisting his hair as he slides one, then two, and finally three fingers inside of you. loves the taste of your pussy, the hardness of your clit on his tongue. loves digging his fingers into your soft thighs that tremble and squeeze around his head. loves the sounds you make, the whimpers and the whines, when you beg for him to just fuck you already. loves the way your body writhes, the feeling of your cunt loosen then tighten and spasm around his fingers, the cries you make when you cum against his face.
he’s already hard when you kneel on still quivering legs in front of him, kissing up his thighs, leaving little marks and bites, running your hands over his soft skin. you don’t give him head with the purpose of trying to make him cum — not that often, at least. most times, it’s foreplay and also a game: a competition of whether it’s you who will pull away first, heaving for breath, asking for him to fuck you, or him who will get frustrated and push you off of him so he can turn you over and fuck you.
he’s most sensitive around his tip, which is wide and red and tastes tangy but not bad, so normally you focus on sucking the top half of his cock while your hand works around the rest. “take what you can, that’s— yes, fuck, that’s it. just like that. just like that, baby, keep doing that.”
when you do try to take him all the way down your throat, though, the incentive to keep going is the way his breath stutters and he wheezes, “oh, fuck, yes.” but when his cock inevitably presses too hard against the back of your mouth, you gag and pull off with a cough.
you let his heavy cock rest against your face while you suck on his balls to give yourself a moment to breathe, and you look up at him with teary eyes. he looks back down at you and says, almost in disbelief, “fuck, you’re so hot.” then he picks you up, throws you onto the bed, tells you to get on your stomach, and then pounds you into the mattress.
says shit like:
“relax, just relax. I’m gonna give you everything you need. don’t be impatient.”
“‘it’s too big?’ it’s barely even in, baby. you can take it, I know you can.”
“you’ll make it fit. now, be good for me and keep still.”
he moans your name.
“fuck, you feel good. you’re so fucking wet. you take me so well.”
“that feels good, doesn’t it? yeah? tell me how it feels. what was that? oh, you can’t even use your words?” he laughs when you get breathless, when he’s fucking you too hard and too fast for you to form words.
and always amazed, like he can’t believe it, “you’re so hot.”
when you both get close, he flips you over onto your back. he puts a pillow under your lower back, and leans down to spit on your cunt and kiss your clit. he put one of your legs over his shoulder and you wrap the other around his waist. he grips the headboard with one hand and touches your body softly, like he’s not saying obscene things and fucking the life out of you, with the other. and then he fucks you even harder.
he’s so deep that you can feel him in your stomach.
when you reach down to touch your clit, your other hand scratching down his back, he says stuff like:
“yes, that’s it, baby, go ‘head, make yourself feel good.”
“you gonna cum? yeah? you’re gonna cum all over my cock?”
“you look so pretty like this.”
he pulls out after you cum so he can finish on your stomach, but he cums so hard and so much, with his hand wrapped around his thick cock, pumping quickly, that it goes from your lower stomach all the way up to between your breasts. while you lay back to catch your breath, he wipes you off with a towel and licks your tits clean.
his dick is big and he knows how to use it. he says and does the right things, even if it’s not exceedingly kinky – (maybe you’ll get to that point later, you think). honestly, it’s the best foreplay, head, and sex you’ve ever had.
but he never stays for long after. there’s no emotions in your arrangement, really; it’s just hooking up. there’s no hanging out after and talking. and that’s fine with you, really. you aren’t sure there would be any compatibility between you for being in a relationship, anyway. but you definitely have chemistry in bed.
once he’s sure you’re coming down okay, he kisses you on the lips and rubs over your cheek with his thumb. he murmurs a promise of, “I’ll see you later,” and then walks out the door.
he doesn’t follow through.
this time, when the door closes behind him, it’s the last time you ever see him.
↳ diluc, ITTO, zhongli?
Tumblr media
2. solid 5/5.5ish inches. fits perfectly; not too big, not too small. the weight feels good on your tongue; it isn’t as hard to take all of him in your mouth, until you can look up at him with your lips wrapped around the very base of his cock. sex is less about finishing and more about the process—about feeling, about the sensations.
after the first time you hook up, you realize: it’s making love, not fucking. you really don’t know each other that well, but he holds you like he’s afraid you’re going to disappear. speaks to you like you’re one of the most important people in his life. touches you like you’re the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. fucks you like he’s in love with you.
it leaves you reeling. it’s confusing being treated like that so immediately, but it’s also nice. the orgasms you have are different than you’ve ever experienced before. the physical vaginal pleasure isn’t anything special, really (… you’ve had better dick), but the way you feel throughout your body and mind when you’re with him is so intense.
it’s not about the orgasm specifically; it’s about the way you feel leading up to it, the process; the slow build leading up to an orgasm where you feel pleasure and relief throughout your entire body.
hooking up is about you. he loves kissing you; sometimes it feels like he likes it even more than having sex. his lips are on yours for so long, seemingly not in a rush at all, even with his hard on pressing against your thigh and making a damp spot on his boxers. he only stops when you get restless and pent up and force him away. then his lips are on your neck, over your chest with his tongue circling your nipples in a way that has you shuddering, down your stomach until he kisses your hip bones—the left and then the right, skipping your cunt and going straight to your thighs.
after all of the drawn out foreplay, when he finally puts his cock in, it feels like a hot, striking, all-encompassing instant relief for both of you. like it’s everything you’ve ever needed and wanted in your whole life. moaning into each other’s mouths, both your and his eyes rolling back, your bodies shuddering against each other.
it’s overwhelming. it feels like you’re burning, like there’s nothing else you could possibly think about or focus on other than him, like this is all you’ve ever needed and wanted. you feel good all over, and it’s clear he does too.
he doesn’t stop kissing you, touching all over your body, making sure as much of his skin is pressed against yours. moaning in your ear, telling you how beautiful you are, how sexy you look, how good you feel, the way your cunt is so wet and warm and tight for him and him only. how he wants to feel you cum around his cock, that he wants to see how hot you look when you cum for him.
“I want you to cum. it doesn’t matter how long it takes,” he says. “we aren’t in a rush. just make yourself feel good, baby. take what you need.”
his dick isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either. it feels best when he puts your ankles over his shoulders and kisses the inside of your leg gently as if he isn’t fucking you into the mattress with his hand resting against your lower stomach; when he presses his body to yours and makes love to your body until you write under him and cum hard around his cock; when he grips your waist as you ride him and digs his fingers into your hips, worshiping the plush of your thighs, the softness of your ass, until he pulls you against him so he can moan into your mouth as he cums.
he says stuff like:
“fuck, that feels so good. you’re so good, baby, shit, don’t stop.”
“don’t hide, let me see you. fuck, you look so pretty. you’re so beautiful.”
“you gonna cum? yeah? that’s it, baby, cum for me. you can do it. be good and cum for me.”
of course, it isn’t all lovey and vanilla and soft. like when his hands stop exploring your body and instead squeeze your throat. or one time when he said, “you’re so loud,” and then stuck his fingers into your mouth. or when he pulled your hair and held your face in his hands as he fucked your mouth until he came down your throat and then kissed you after.
you find it unfortunate that the way he treats you is so refreshing. you find it special, different, even surprising, that he treats you so well when you’re with each other. he doesn’t act like you matter as a person only when you’re having sex, and that makes you sad for yourself.
but it also makes you care—a little bit more than you should in your fuck buddy arrangement. it’s hard to eliminate emotions when it feels like you’re in love with each other when you hook up.
he just seems so fucking into you. like, who fucks you like he loves you and says this shit kind of shit when you’re just supposed to be fuck buddies?
“you should sleep over.” it wasn’t all that ‘you can stay if you want to’ bullshit. no, it was, “I want you to.” and it was every single time you came over, too.
“when can I see you? I’m hard as fuck thinking about you. you wanna do something about it?”
“you should come during the day. I want to see your face.”
“if it was going to be anyone,” he said when you asked him about the boundaries of your arrangement one night, if you’re exclusive, if it’s just hooking up and there’s no feelings, etc. “it’s you.”
he’s a liar.
you don’t know if he means to be. you don’t know if he realizes that he’s stringing you along in the grey area of whatever the fuck “it’s you” is. you don’t know if he wants to see your name in his phone apart from wanting to hook up. you don’t know if playing pretend being in a relationship and being in love with each other is hurting him, too.
but you do know that when you kiss him goodbye one morning, it’ll be the last time you’ll ever see him.

Until we meet again
TW: Angst, Character's Death
One Day, I knew it was going to be over. One of us would breath our last breath, only one heart was going to keep beating.
When it happened I was in the kitchen, brewing water on the stove to make us some tea. I made Oolong tea. Back in the days we used to drink it together as it reduces anxiety and calms the nerves. Anxieties have always been present in this house. Wether it was when I scraped my knee when I was seven years old, when my father refused to let us go out together, when we decided to tie the knot, when we were blessed with the gift of life several times, when I fell sick and had everyone worried and now it has returned once again.
This time the fear felt different. It wasn't like a predator lurking around the corner ready to hit when you were least expecting it, it was more of a companion, taking on a long journey from another country to greet an old friend.
The whistling of the kettle tore me away from my thoughts. Just as I wanted to pour the water into our cups, the ones we've gotten as a wedding present, a family heirloom passed around in my family for almost a century, I heard someone come down the stairs. "Mother, you shouldn't do this. Let me and take a rest." My oldest daughter took the cups from me and started pouring me some tea, while I sat down in my favorite chair. It's a set of two big and comfortable green chairs, that shouldn't have lasted as long as they did, but we could've never gotten rid of them. I smiled fondly at the slightly used fabric, marked with decade long memories.
"It's time, isn't it?" I asked my daughter fondly while taking a sip of my favorite tea. "It won't be long, yes." she sighed, a foreign emotion, which I have never seen on her before painted her beautiful face. I placed the cup on our old coffee table and tried to get up. My daughter rushed to my side trying to help me up but I gently shoved her away. Even though the years of time have left their traces on my aging body, I have to do this alone.
Slowly I make my way to our bedroom, taking every step carefully, heart growing heavier. Our old friend has finally arrived, I can feel him in the depths of my soul, trying to leave his marks.
I enter the bedroom where he lays on his side of the bed breathing softly. I grasp his hand, one last touch, something that I can draw on until time catches up with me too. His hand is warm, calloused palms from decade long hard work, albeit his face is still soft as always as I run my hands along his cheek, just like he used to do it when I was sad or upset back in the days. I turn around to see our children and adult grandchildren standing in the doorway with tears of love and grief in their eyes. Together we made all of this possible but now one of us is going to move forward by themselves while the other remains until one day we will be together again. There's no doubt that we will see each other again. With a soft smile I lean towards his ear and whisper the following words:
"Thank you for everything my love. You can go now. Don't worry about me, I'm not alone. One day we will be together again. Until now, farewell my darling."

30 minutes -Kaeya
Tumblr media
Pairing: KaeyaxGN!Reader
Genre: Modern AU, Fluff and the slightest bit of angst/heart ache?
Note: based on authors experience, so basically a piece for me to reminisce
Word Count: 1.4k
Tumblr media
You stood impatiently at the door, waiting for the train to finally come to a stop. You weren't quite sure why you were so excited. The last time you saw him was 4 years ago in the summer. Objectively, that's not a long time. However, in a phase of life in which a lot changes. So was he even still himself? What if he changed everything you once liked about him?
It was pure coincidence that you would meet here today. A few months ago you found his e-mail address while cleaning up and then wrote a carefully worded text. Just to test if the address was still in use. Just to see if he would answer you at all. If he remembered you? An answer came surprisingly quickly. Already the next day. You've written to each other a lot since then. Almost like a modern correspondence. The emails were long and detailed, and over time you found yourself taking the time to respond. That you read them more than once and also type your answers well thought out. And then waited impatiently for him to answer. The emails were ridiculously long and the way you would respond to one email thread up to 43 times reminded you of earlier times.
Again the uncertain emotion surfaced. A stirring feeling inside you that always happened to make its presence felt when you thought of him. Even back then, it was your constant companion and although you spent lots of time carrying it around, you weren't quite sure what that gut feeling was trying to tell you.
But then at some point it was too late. The chance to get to the bottom of the matter was lost. Without a word Kaeya was gone. He had just left. At first you didn't want to admit to yourself that it hurt you as much as it just did. Why? What did his disappearance have to do with you? It wasn't like he was your boyfriend or like you fell in love with him. So why did it hit you so hard?
Nevertheless, you were looking forward to the upcoming encounter. Even if it was only for 30 minutes. The idea had been obviously his. Kaeya had always been quite spontaneous. So when you were visiting your parents you had wanted to meet up. Because for some coincidence he had also planned to visit his family during that time. But he had to cancel his trip because of work and stay at home. Although you grew up in the same town, you now live far away from each other.
In an e-mail answering to his apology of not being able to make it, you mentioned that you would have a short stay of about half an hour in his town and, being spontaneous as he was and is, he suggested that you meet there. The whole drive to here you had been racking your brains about what you would say to him. What would you talk about? Exchanging emails was one thing as you could always think about what to say. A conversation, however, was something else entirely.
As the train pulled into the station, you looked around for him impatiently. Expecting he would already be waiting for you on the platform, your eyes darted over the waiting people as the train gradually came to a halt. And indeed you recognized him immediately. Despite the passage of time, he was still the same. Looked like you remembered him. Tanned, piercing eyes and the same charming smile. Kaeya had apparently already spotted you as well and jogged alongside the train to stand in front of the doors when they opened.
He beamed at you and took your luggage. And as expected, he took you in his arms and as expected, the sinking feeling in your stomach increased. The feeling that probably wasn't love.
"You look the same as you did then. You haven't changed at all.", he said and looked beamingly into your eyes. This man was as charismatic as ever.
Suddenly you thought back to the beginning of your time together. Before you really got to know him, you only knew Kaeya from class. The idiot who had to take on every professor or teacher he was supposed to pay respect to. After just a few weeks of being in the same class together, you realized that this guy wasn't made for educational institutions. While everyone laughed about his jokes or rolled his eyes at his behavior, you took a step back to observe. Eventually you came to the conclusion that he would have to find his own way. And you were generally glad not to have anything further to do with him. What got around in town and among the students were stories of all his parties, which were held at his parents' house. In and of themselves, they didn't sound bad. Kaeya was by no means arrogant and he lived with his parents and brother in a perfectly average house. The parties actually sounded very chill and intriguing. But you heard who he went to bed with there and similar rumors circulated about his friends. So your opinion of him was overall rather negative.
However, as you found out later, you were very far from the truth. Because Kaeya in private was something completely different than Kaeya with his friends in class. As it turned out, he had a crush on you back then. Which of course he never told you. (You found out years later from a mutual friend.) Eventually, you forgot why, you started spending a lot of time together outside of class. You talked for hours on walks across the fields with the wind pulling on your hair and clothes and found that you shared views and opinions and preferences. You would never have believed that he could be so profound. All you knew about him were the stories of parties and flings and fights with professors. And even during the whole time spent together, you would never have thought that he might have had feelings for you.
You kissed once. In summer. And eventually your friends started seeing you in a double pack. It was then always assumed that one would bring the other along. You understood each other. Trusted each other blindly. He had been by your side in the dark moments and called you over when he needed you. But despite all these things, you never saw him as your boyfriend. Neither one of you ever brought up the subject. And eventually Kaeya was gone. Without a word.
"What's that face you're making?" he asked, pulling your arm slightly out of the way to let other people pass.
"Huh? What?" He snapped you out of your thoughts and smiled at him. "Hi! Long time no see."
"I know it's not that much time, but shall we sit in a café? It's so noisy here. I want to use every minute to talk to you. I’m so glad we can still meet like this." He pulled your suitcase behind him and you naturally followed him.
As you rode down the train station escalators and he guided you to a coffee shop, your mind played out all sorts of scenarios. Like a supercomputer, you went through all the topics of conversation and possible outcomes.
You hadn't seen this man in 4 years. After he just left. Back then almost everyone asked you where he was. When he would be back. Everyone assumed you had the answer. That he would have shared it with you because you seemed to have that special connection. But in the end he wasn't your boyfriend. A very good friend that you only really knew for a few months. Someone you briefly thought might be the one for life, but who you've never officially dated. Even if everyone else thought so.
And after all the hours you've easily spent together, endless chatter and light-hearted banter…
…4 years later you're trying to figure out how to have 30 minutes of conversation without blaming him and bursting into tears because he had walked away without a word.

Genshin Men when Someone Notices Lipstick Marks
Pairing: Kaeya, Diluc, Itto, Childe, Pantalone, Dottore, Kaveh, Neuvillette, Wriothesley, Zhongli x Reader
Tags: fluff, suggestive, being flustered, teasing, bragging, lipstick marks
A/N: The only way you'd get me to wear lipstick tbh.
TRIES TO HIDE IT - Pantalone, Kaveh, Zhongli
He would glare at whoever pointed it out, partially embaressed and partially grateful that it was pointed out so he could hide it. In friendly company he wouldn't mind this happening but when he's in a more professional setting they don't want it to be visible. In the future if you want to leave marks on him when before he goes to work make sure it's in places he can cover up.
BRAGS ABOUT IT - Kaeya, Itto, Dottore, Wriothesley
Doesn't deny that he has it, rather he pulls his clothes further down so the person who pointed it out, and everyone who sees him can guess what he was doing with you minutes before. Won't say anything in detail, he thinks it's funnier that way. He will almost point it out to people because he thinks they should all know what a good time he has with you.
WANTS TO GET MORE - Diluc, Childe, Neuvillette
As soon as he notices it too he thanks the person who noticed it first and runs right back to you. No matter what you're currently in the middle of he will drag you into a private area where he will, very seriously, ask for you to leave more lipstick marks on him. Anywhere is fine but he would prefer them on places people can see so he can wear them with pride.

Hi hi do u mind if i request headcanons of kaeya with a sub!fem!reader who has a habit of asking for conformation/praise when she goes down on him. She just wants to know if she's doing a good job and sometimes she asks non verbally too.
Thank you 💞
Asking for Praise / Conformation Female Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaeya finds your little habit so precious.
Sometimes he purposefully will be quiet while you go down on him, just to get you to look up at him.
The sight sends electricity through his body. Your big doe eyes staring up at him, his cock resting in your mouth, your saliva coating your lips.
He can see how eager you are, wanting reassurance that you're doing a good job for him.
He always runs a hand through your hair before trailing down to your cheek.
"Your so good at this, love."
"You make me feel better than anyone else ever could."
"You look so pretty with my cock in your mouth."
He likes to tease you about it when you ask verbally until you get red in the face. But he always praises you and ensures you know how good you're doing afterward.
"Does my girl need to hear how good she's doing?"
He likes to give you confirmation silently as well. Touching you, running a hand through your hair, cupping your cheeks. Even with his teasing, he never wants you to doubt how great you make him feel.

E, F, I and J with Kaeya please!
Tumblr media
✧.*Orgasm, vulgar language, mentions of rough and gentle sex, male masturbation, consensual possession of erotic pictures,
༊*·˚ I really hope you like this anon! <3
˗ˏˋFeaturing ´ˎ˗ Kaeya Alberich
Tumblr media
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
I think Kaeya would be pretty experienced, he is quite the ladies man after all. That being said he doesn't seem like the type to only care about his own pleasure, for him the best sex is when both parties are satisfied; he would know what he's doing, he's able to quickly discover the in's and out's of your body.
Tumblr media
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
His favorite would definitely be cowgirl. He likes being able to see the erotic expressions on your cute face. He can easily help you bounce on top of him, but it amuses him to watch you struggle, desperately chasing your own release. <3

J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
༉‧₊˚. Kaeya keeps pictures that he's taken of you when he's fucking you. He prints them off the kamera, keeping them hidden in one of his drawers in his office at home. When you're away, adventuring and what not, he find himself spreading them all across his desk before tugging down his trousers...
He groans, his head thrown back, beads of sweat dripping from his hairline. He looks back down at the masterpieces sprawled across his wooden desk, biting his lips to keep himself from being too loud. His right hand fists his thick cock, squeezing tighter when it meets the flushed head. Squelching sounds echo throughout the rooms as his orgasm creeps up his spine, his body shaking in anticipation. He picks up a picture of you spread out on your shared bed, body completely bare for him, and brings it to his forehead. He clings to it as his hips buck up into his hand, desperately chasing his release. He finally cums with a muffled groan, his body tremoring as he slouches down in his chair, hand still gingerly holding the picture.

genshin sugar daddies
premise: you have seven sugar daddies: one for every day of the week. a bit overwhelming, right? however, you somehow find ways to make time for each and every one of them, no matter how emotionally and physically demanding they are. it's just that, now they don't seem too keen on sharing, and you don't know what to do. (modern au)

mondays are always harder in more ways than one. mondays are diluc's days, and that means that you're spending a good portion of your nights at angel's share.
on mondays, it's happy hour. which means that you're sitting at a booth in the corner looking pretty while diluc is tending to his customers. you're more than happy to sit back and relax while you wait for him to finish with work. when the drinks are on the house, you're willing to wait as long as it'll take.
periodically, when he's not busy, however, he'll walk over to you and engage in conversation. you act as a taste-tester for new drinks so he's always asking you if you like them. you two will talk about your day, any interesting events, and so on until diluc is pulled back into work again.
then you're back to fiddling your fingers and watching him work. over time, you've learned that he preferred that you not do anything while you were supposed to be with him. that instead, you fixated your gaze on him while he moved about. sometimes you'll catch him looking at you to see if your eyes are still on him.
even while he's dealing with a certain tone-deaf bard, there's something about the way he looks at you so intently that reminds you of a predator.
when angel's share closes, you're there to keep him company while he cleans up. when he's done, he'll sweep you away back to his manor.
you'll fall onto the sheets as he grinds against you. his shallow breaths brush against your throat. the look he gives you is nothing short of intense.
"everyone at the tavern was looking at you, you know," he mutters, running his fingers down your chest, sinking into your pants. he pulls them down effortlessly along with your panties. "didn't you feel it, darling? their filthy eyes on you. they want to ruin you. everyone wants to ruin you."
he throws your legs over his shoulders, his fingers crawling up your thighs. you jump when he suddenly inserts two fingers into your cunt, scissoring you. his free arm wraps around your leg to keep you locked against him. his eyes are glued onto you as he presses a kiss against your calf.
"but your eyes were on me all night, weren't they. couldn't take your eyes off me, could you. you're mine, dear. do you hear me? you're mine."
you don't overlook how tight his grip is. tight enough to make you wonder if he'll ever let you go. in the morning, he does, but you're scared for the day he wakes up and decides that it's for the last time.
tuesdays aren't as bad. when you’re sore from the night before, childe is there to take you out to meals, shopping, and sightseeing. he's not always available to spend time with you on tuesdays, because of his equally-demanding job and whatnot, but when he is free, he never wastes a second.
or a dollar.
childe smirks smugly from his sea. his posture is lax, one hand lazily tracing circles on the chair's arm while the other comes up to rest under his chin.
"how about you twirl for me, girlie? you look so beautiful."
you giggle, observing yourself in the mirror. "why thank you."
you bask in the way the soft satin kisses your skin. the way your newly-own earrings sparkle under the dressing room's light. just a couple years ago, you could've only dreamed of being dressed so prettily.
"do your side-bitches ever treat you as well as me?"
"childe!" you chide.
he laughs, getting up from his seat. but you both know better than to believe his little chuckle is genuine.
he approaches you, sliding his hands around your waist. tucking your head under his chin, he stares at you through the mirror's reflection.
you don't say anything, and childe doesn't either. it appears he's more than happy to enjoy just standing there. his gaze is glossed over, far away.
the two of you sway side to side for what seems like forever until he decides to say something.
"do they buy you pretty things like i do?"
of course they do, you think. although you spend one-on-one time with each and every one of them, they are all aware of each other. it's only right that they did. it was the first thing you said when you brought the idea up to them, that it wasn't going to be exclusive.
but when you see the way he looks at you, you can't really tell him the truth. not when his focus is redirected from his thoughts to you.
"the things you buy me are a special kind of pretty," you reply.
it seems like that answer is enough for him, because he doesn't say anything else. instead he hums quietly, letting the vibration ripple in the back of your head. he slides his hands down your hips and before you can say anything else, he whips his head around.
"i'll buy these sets." he motions over to the closest clothes rack to an attendant you hadn't noticed. "and that one. and the dress she's wearing. how many colors does this come in, by the way?"
the attendant doesn't hesitate. "five colors, sir. they come in bla—"
"great." he shuffles through his pocket to pull out a black card. "pack them up, we won't be here any longer," he retorts.
the attendant looks ecstatic, quickly shuffling out of the dressing rooms towards the cash register with newfound glee.
"childe," you whine. "i don't think these will fit in my closet."
his hands crawl lower, his finger hovering over your clit. "then they'll fit in mine. come over any time of the week when you want to wear one of my special pretty things."
your breath hitches as he rubs slow circles on your clit. he pushes the two of you back into the dressing room and closes the curtains.
"what are you doing, she'll be back any second—"
he kisses the corner of your jaw, pressing his lips close to your ear. "no worries. if there's one thing i'm sure about, it's that no one undresses you faster than i do."
wednesday is when usually everything calms down. kazuha will typically invite you to a new park, scenic route, or gallery. together, you'll write haikus, sonnets, and limericks together. some hours you'll just sit in silence, putting pen to paper. and when the sun goes down you'll exchange poetry.
out of the seven men, kazuha probably scares you the most. he was the first person you decided to do this whole ordeal with, after all. and since he's known you the longest, he also knows about your circumstances more than others. maybe that's why he's so focused on treating you as if you were a fragile cherry blossom petal. his touches feel like ghosts, running down your forearm as he presses a kiss to the apple of your cheek.
in exchange for his protection, his money, and his care, you give him honeyed words. you act as his muse for when he's hit a creative block. you're there to listen to him read out verses when the wind can't bear the strength to carry them. you listen to his grief about his best friend, his loneliness when he was forced to leave his home country. as someone many of the locals looked to for wisdom, he too carried the emotional burdens of being someone's rock. emotional burdens that he let onto you (whether purposefully or not, you're unsure). but you listen anyway, hearing him talk about days of poverty, where sometimes he had to worry about things to eat, or how to get proper healthcare.
you can't lie and say you're always stable enough to hear some of the things he has to say, but you try.
even if you sometimes feel like you can't take it, you just smile and squeeze his hand tighter like you're supposed to. sometimes your mind will go on autopilot, and sometimes you'll stand up on the grounds of needing to go to the bathroom. but at the end of the day, this is what you signed up for. this. making men happy so that you yourself won't have to worry about your endless debt.
you peer over your notebook to see kazuha immersed in his own writing. but instead of his usual peaceful expression, he looks somber. his hands won't leave the paper, his eyes glued onto the words that he's drawn onto the pages.
"what's got you so worked up?" you ask curiously. "is it something new?"
it's like your voice snaps him out of his trance. he blinks, looking up at you. there's a smile you know all too well on his lips. "yeah, i suppose you could call it that."
"could i look at it? i want to see what's got you so focused like that."
his lips press into a straight line. "hmmm, maybe later."
his words catch you off-guard. usually he's the one who's eager to share his work, regardless of the quality. "oh? is it something you want to keep secret?"
he doesn't many any hint of an answer. instead, he puts down his pen and stares at the ground in contemplation. he's picking and choosing what words to say.
"i could protect you," he says, shuffling his papers to the side. you turn to him, curious. his expression slowly hardens. "by myself, i mean. i could take care of you."
"kazu—"
"i have the means to make a living for the both of us. i could sell more of my poetry, i know they'll sell well—"
"where is this coming from?" you move closer to him, brushing his hair aside. "kazu, are you worried about something?"
there's something that's stopping him from saying anything. his fingers intertwine with yours, his thumb caressing the back of your hand.
he purses his lips, before turning away and sighing. "no, not really."
after that, he doesn't say anything else. the two of you bask in silence once again. even though you're used to the quiet, there's something deep down in you that feels nervous. like something in the atmosphere changed. there's a sudden resolved glint in his eye as he get backs to writing so diligently on a piece of paper he won't let you read.
after all these days spent talking about himself, somehow you're scared for the day he suddenly decides to stop.
on thursdays you're usually at tighnari's greenhouse, watching him take notes of other plants while you twiddle your thumbs. once in a while, he'll begin rambling about the plants—what kind of species they are, how rare, their medicinal properties, and the like.
you're more of a companion, than anything. someone who can make his days a little less lonelier. and you appreciate it. it's much more tranquil with him. you can enjoy his sharp quips, especially when cyno comes to visit.
his sex-drive is relatively normal, if not a little below average. just like wednesday, you also expect thursday to be a typical rest day.
except when spring comes.
when spring comes, your routine get a little wonky. for one week, at least. because that's when tighnari's heat hits him like a fucking monsoon.
you can already tell when it's coming when he begins to hover closer to you. whenever you take your hand out to do anything, even the slightest gesture, he's already taking it and dragging it towards his sensitive ears.
the moment you've made your plans set to 'take the week off' and help him out, he's already on you, face pressed into your neck as if it's his oasis.
as you can tell, he takes this week very seriously.
"i bet—shit—those other fucks don't get to hold you as long as i do," he lets out as he fucks into you like there's no tomorrow. his hands hold onto your waist like he owns it, pressing sloppy kisses down your spine. "looking so pretty for me. i wonder what they'd say if you got pregnant with my babies. you'd be so much more beautiful plump with my kids. is that what you want huh? to make them angry with my cum stuffed in your gorgeous pussy?"
some days you almost can't believe how uncharacteristically aggressive he is. he dicks you down like he's trying to imprint his shape into the core of your body so that none of the others can fit inside.
and when he cums, he'll take whatever unfortunate portions slip out and smear it all over your chest. especially where your heart is.
then the process starts all over again.
when it's over, he'll spoon you. as if he didn't almost fuck you to death. his touch is tender, like a ghost's hovering over your skin.
"why won't you leave them all for me?"
you shift a little to look at him and kiss him softy, sweetly, on the line of his jaw. "oh, nari, you know i can't."
his ears droop at your words. "you can't, or you won't."
his words make you freeze a bit.
you think back to last week, and the week before, and the one before that. you think about why you started selling your services in the first place, the endless debt you used to be in, and the progression of the relationship between all seven of your...contacts. even if you wanted to, you don't think you could back out if you tried. you've dug a hole for yourself. one deep enough to cause some sort of disruption if you ever decided to stop digging.
so you just hum. "you know how much i love routine."
as some sort of apology, you give him and open-mouthed kiss, one he's almost desperate to return. he moans, hands cupping your face to bring you closer to him.
you're well unaware how much your words have an impact him.
at the end of the week, all al-haitham wants to do is unwind. it's the only logical thing to do. no late-night drinks with the colleagues, no stressful trips to some tourist trap. on fridays, al-haitham comes home to a meal made with love.
when al-haitham's at work during the day, you're usually running your actual errands. it's when you have time to make those one-in-a-blue-moon visits to your actual home, although it's getting harder to call it that.
when it gets to the late-afternoon, you'll usually head to al-haitham's place to start cooking. if you didn't know how to cook before, you do now. every ingredient is handled with care, measured meticulously just as you knew he preferred.
and when he gets home, tired and stressed out, you're there to welcome him with a chaste kiss on the cheek.
during dinner, sometimes he'll talk to you about work or the latest research he'd gotten himself immersed with. in return, you tell him about some of your childhood memories. your likes, your dislikes, what used to be your hobbies. you do your best to keep your personal matters out of the conversation, no matter how many times he tries to pry into your private life.
sometimes dinners feel like a full on investigation, the way he keeps greeding for more information about you. he watches you eat with calculating eyes. you pretend to pay no mind to it.
in the beginning, kaveh used to join you for dinners. you always liked the guy, the way he bickered with al-haitham and riled him up. but now you've begun to see less of him, as if he never comes home on fridays at all.
after dinner, there are two different outcomes depending on his mood:
outcome one is that you'll spend the rest of the night curling up on his couch, the both of you immersed in your own books. al-haitham leans on your shoulder as he flips through the pages as if they're nothing. you can't help but feel ticklish whenever his hair brushes against your jaw.
somewhere in the middle, he'll move one hand to start fidgeting with the end of your shirt, sometimes crawling underneath to caress your sides.
outcome two is less quiet. the moment he gets home with that solemn face, you know it's coming. his voice is huskier, his responses shorter. it's usually a result of an impending deadline, colleagues being more peskier than usual.
the moment you two are done with dishes, he gingerly takes your hand and leads you up to the bedroom.
his kisses tastes like green tea and dinner. his hands run up and down your torso, trying to imprint the feel of your skin into every inch of your brain. you whimper when his thumbs press softly into your nipples, rolling them around as they harden.
your hands find purchase on his collar, tugging him impossibly close. he groans at the contact.
you let out a yelp when your back suddenly falls onto the bed. your hands are pressed onto the sheets, al-haitham's fingers encircling your wrists. his knee nudges your legs further apart, rubbing at your clit.
"don't look at the ceiling, dear, look at me," he breathes out, his hands leaving your nipples to gently guide your face towards. "that's it. good girl. just me. just look at me. only me."
he smiles.
"now, let me do god's work on your divine body."
saturdays with ayato can sometimes get hectic. some saturdays you're out getting bubble tea together and enjoying the city, and other saturdays you're hurrying to some publicitiy event hosted by the kamisato clan.
on those type of days, you can expect to wear gowns layered with shiny nylon tulle fabric. it's not as revealing as what you'd try on in dressing rooms with childe. in fact, it's a bit more modest.
today you're wearing a light-blue gown to match with ayato. you turn around to get a good look at the cute bow attached at your waist, your diamond encrusted earrings swaying along with you.
it's as if you've put on another costume. another front to wear for the night.
ayato enters the room just shortly after. in his hands is a diamond necklace to match with your stunning earrings. small smile falls upon his lips when he clasps it on.
"you're beautiful," he mumbles. you giggle when he kisses you square on the lips, licking away the tinted color.
"ayato," you press in-between kisses. you place a hand on his chest to gently push him away. "you're going to ruin my lipstick."
he pulls away with a cheeky smile, taking your wrists to wrap around his neck. "you can always put on some more later."
you pout but kiss him regardless. he tightens his hold on you in reaction, moaning into your mouth.
at these kinds of events, you're there as his plus-one. just so that other officials could stop introducing girls to him when he clearly wasn't interested in them. it'd be arguable to say that you might even be there to make the events a little less intolerable.
somewhere along the lines, you'd sleep with him in addition to being his arm candy at parties. sometimes even before: you two rushing to put on your formal attires and fix your hair minutes before the event started.
but beyond that, you started to get to know him better. he'd whisper into your ear about funny stories relating to the guests as you meet them. sometimes you'd run away in the middle of the party to binge out on the food and talk about your other interests. surprisingly, he doesn't talk about the politics behind his duties as the head of the kamisato family. not as much as you expected, at least.
instead he talks about his dreams for a family. how many kids, what their names would be, how he'd raise them. and as he talked, he'd give you this heavy gaze that you're not sure what to do with. as if he was expecting something from you.
you're beginning to believe that ayato has somehow confused contractual girlfriend with actual girlfriend.
when you had met ayaka months ago, ayato introduced you as his girlfriend. you didn't attempt to correct him—that's ayato's business. not your's. but when you're expecting ayato to come clean to his dearest sister, you're sorely mistaken.
instead, while he kisses your lips so hungrily, he subtly slips a diamond ring onto your finger.
sundays are usually kaeya's days off. although the cavalry captain's duties are seemingly never endless, he takes the day off to take a breather.
in other words, he sees you.
at first, it was just candlelit dinners. he'd walk in with a bouquet of roses, complimenting your dress and staring at you as if he was undressing you with his eyes. he'd take you to somewhere fancy, pull out the chair for you and sweet-talk you all through the night.
conversations were fun with him. you didn't have to think much at all, not about how to pay the bills, the six men in your life who seemingly began to want yours to only revolve around theirs, or being someone your not.
kaeya was probably the only one who you felt you could be comfortable with. he made you laugh, he'd tell all sorts of interesting stories, and he never made the silence feel awkward.
at least, that's how you used to be.
you see, usually after these candlelit dinners you'd both go back to his place, with him ripping off your clothes the moment the door closed. but as of recently, he's been asking to come over to your place instead more often. almost too often.
and that's not the only thing that's changed.
the sex used to be rough. heated. almost as if he was consumed by all of his pent-up sexual frustration and was only focused on getting off. he'd slurp your cunt like a man starved but he'd still rail you as if that's the only thing he cared about.
but as time passed, he's been getting more and more...sensual. the sex is much more slower. personal, almost.
vulnerable.
after dinner, he slowly slips off your clothing. one article after another, until your left in your underwear. he first kisses you on the mouth, then your neck, then your chest, then your stomach. slowly, he makes a trail of them down your body, as if no skin deserved to be left untouched.
although you made a rule that no one could leave your marks on you, it doesn't mean he doesn't try. as he kisses your lower lips, sometimes he'll attempt to leave marks close to your clit. if you're not careful, diluc will find it tomorrow.
his thrusts were always deep, but now that he's much more purposeful about it. it's rhythmic, as if he's trying to reach a new spot inside you. somewhere no one's touched.
the pillow-talks are much more longer as well. he holds you tighter now, wrapping his arms around your hips as he tangles his legs with yours.
instead of ranting on about the silly incidents he witnessed on the job earlier in the week, he talks about his feelings. towards you. towards diluc. towards himself. some nights you can handle it, some nights are too much.
but you can't say anything. not when he's holding onto you like you’re his lifeline. not when he helps you pay off your debt. and so you let his raspy voice whisper in your ear as he combs his fingers through your hair. you listen to him mumble sweet-nothings.
you're not sure if you like the adoring look he gives you as you drift off to sleep.
