Carlos Rodon No-Hitter

What a great no-hit performance by Carlos Rodon! He just missed a perfect game when the second batter in the 9th inning was hit on the foot by a pitch. As often happens in no-hitters, a great defensive play saved the game when Jose Abreau did the sliding splits to beat the runner at first. As the article below notes, “ A perfect game saved by inches — then lost by a foot.” Kudos to catcher Zack Collins calling a great game.

Rodon has battled through a lot of injuries in his career. The White Sox did not offer him a contract at the end of last year, but then ended up signing in the off season. He made the team as the 5th starter. Prior to the start of the season, I listened to a podcast featuring Rodon. He was incredibly mentally positive about the season and it left me feeling very confident in his confidence. So far this season, he has started two games and they have both been gems. He is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA.

I cannot let this post go by without again mentioning Yermin Mercedes. He hit a 3-run homer in the first inning to pace the White Sox offense to their 8 runs. After going 8 for 8 to start his rookie season, his legend continues to grow as he now has 3 home runs, 10 RBI’s, a .548 batting average and a 1.363 OPS.

Chicken > Beef

Well, “Beef” Welington Castillo just got suspended for using an MLB banned substance called erythropoietin (EPO), which stimulates red blood cell production. Athletes usually take it to prevent future injuries, as did Lance Armstrong. Everyone is talking about this. Frankly, I was just…ok with the Welington Castillo signing in December. He is now out 80 games. He is the MLB’s worst pitch-framer, using Runs Above Average, according to StatCorner. He also has a Caught Stealing Percentage of 32%, which is down from 2017 from an absurd 49%. His SLG and his OBP are both down. Basically, I am tooting my own horn that maybe we should have signed someone else (i.e. Jonathan Lucroy), but I digress.

The Sox have a vacuum at catcher until Seby Zavala and maybe Zack Collins come up. They signed Dustin Garneau, while Kevan Smith is on the DL. Omar Narvaez hasn’t played well and is also a terrible pitch-framer. They promoted “Chicken” Alfredo Gonzalez to the MLB roster. He is bad. That’s it. My guy, Beefloaf from Section 108, said to trade for Blake Swihart, since he is third on the depth chart in Boston. That sounds like a better idea than what we have going on currently.

Oh, and Leury Garcia landed on the DL with a sprained knee. Charlie Tilson took his place. Good for him to battle back from two injury-riddled seasons. Maybe he can take Trayce Thompson’s spot, or the golden boy, Adam Engel in the outfield.

Back at it again with more under appreciated characters, this time we talk about Finn Abernathy from Bones! Tbh the whole show Bones, unless the fandom is just really quiet, I’m new here, hey y’all.

LOOK AT HIM

One: I love him.

Two: He’s adorable.

Two and a half: Luke Kleintank is literally everything. Please I can’t even rn.

Three: He’s possibly the only yeehaw boy that don’t scare me. (See what I did there? Yeah no me neither it wasn’t funny.)

Four: He’s only in eight episodes??? I could’ve sworn it was more but ig not.

Five: His exit was literally not an exit. Michelle dumps him (cheated on him.), which was out of character for her imo, and then at the end of the episode he asks Cam if it’s alright for him to head home and we never see him again?? I assume it’s because Luke Kleintank started filming something else, but he deserved a goodbye at least.

Six: I lived for the enemies to bffs storyline Finn and Hodgins had, and the fact that they didn’t get a full goodbye where Hodgins finally like ACTUALLY apologizes for being a complete dick when Finn first showed up was a travesty. Is that how you use that word? I think so. So yeah.

ANYWAYS

I’ve only seen like four Finn fics so I might post a few of those, but idk. Definitely will be putting out some Aubrey, Sweets, Wendell, possibly Booth, and Finn content. But the Bones fandom has kind of disappeared lately, so if you are a Bones fan (Bonehead? Idk if we have a name) gimme a shout so I know I’m not writing for no one.
