Heya :) it's been a while!

Hi, my name is Dolly (she/her) and I've had this blog for quite some time! In the past I've done things like open up free readings, or create discord servers as a way to feel a sense of community, but this time around I think I'm okay with just being here instead of seeking attention and validation. A new era of this blog marks my first steps toward ACTUAL self-discovery and growth.

This was initially a side blog but now it's the main one I use. But since it's technically a side blog, if you see any likes/follows from @ibitch-plus that's me lol!

I just thought I'd make a pinned post sharing a little about myself, and I'll try to keep it brief but I'm bad at that.

The direction this blog is going to be going is ideally going to be personal, intimate, focused on my own growth as a person, and focused on my growth in my practice. I plan on being vulnerable and fairly open but not to the point where it's a burden on followers. I just want this to become a safe space for myself and others to share if they have been feeling like they're lacking in personal growth/their practice. You're not alone! And you're welcome to follow me and join me on my journey to help inspire your own journey!

Piercings and tattoos! I work in a tattoo shop, currently working on my piercing apprenticeship!

Mixology! Again, lol! I find the art of making and creating cocktails to be very witchy, but also just super fun in non-witchy ways.

Fashion! I love clothes and shoes, and I can never stick to one aesthetic

Pool! Like, as in billiards! Super random but it's fun and I've gotten a lot better over the past couple years!

Pretty much any hobby ever! Soap making, candle making, baking, embroidery, hand sewing, cosmetic making, jewelry making, singing, makeup, playing instruments, I just love to do it all.

Okay that's enough about me, like I said I'm bad at keeping it brief but there ya go! Can't wait to get back into the community. <3

dreamcatcher devlog: november 2023

it's time for the first proper devlog post on this blog! this is my first time writing something like this, so hopefully i'll do it fine. without further ado, here's what happened in november:

i did some work on music at the start of the month and made some progress on a few tracks; here's the tutorial music:

i also decided to redo the movement mechanics, since i wasn't satisfied with what i had before. i ended up finishing them, and i'm still working on tweaking everything until it feels just right.

on the 12th, i opened up a discord server for dreamcatcher! i'd actually created the server months ago, but was finally ready to share it this month.

a few days later, i remembered that krita existed and decided to try it out. it's been a good upgrade from the app i used to use (autodesk sketchbook), and i'm still learning as i use it.

to be honest, not much happened for about a week and a half. i was off for thanksgiving break and struggled to find motivation even though i had so much free time.

once i finally felt like making progress again, i finished up the menu animations! once i learned about tweens, they weren't very hard to implement. here's a video showcasing them:

i also downloaded audacity so i could make sound effects, and i've been learning to use that as well.

to finish off the month, i made a github repo for the game and set up github desktop! now i don't have to worry about making backups, and i can also use github's issues and projects features to help with development. also i get so much satisfaction when i commit a new change, so that's been really helping with staying motivated.

that's all for november! i think i've made some good progress this month, and i would like to keep this pace into this month. speaking of which, here's some things i plan on doing in december:

i'll be hosting playtester applications this month! they'll open on the 15th, and close on the 22nd (both are in utc time). you'll be able to find the form in the discord server, but i also might post it here as well.

i want to get as much of the core game mechanics done as possible, such as level transitions, save data, the notebook, etc. i think i'll mainly be focusing on level design for the first few months of next year, and i want to be prepared for that.

i'm buying a stylus and smudgeguard this month, so hopefully that'll improve my drawing process. i've been using my finger to draw for years now, and i'm excited to have those tools to help.

there's plenty more that i'll be doing this month, but this post is getting pretty long, and the rest aren't as significant. if you want to keep up with progress, please consider following this blog, or joining the discord server!

if possible – try and keep the theme for as long as you can; and if you're going to change your theme, it might be helpful to borrow an outstanding element so that people can recognise you immediately even after changing the theme !!! but of course, do whatever you like hehe.

have a consistent tagging system !!!

reach out to other people !! either as an anon or as a friend – you can extend the invitation to be mutuals hehe. or, you know.. you can join communities (just like my discord server) to get to know people within genshinblr !!

you can join networks too !!! (wink wink @astronetwrk applications are opening in three days) this helps you to connect and make friends with other writers heheh

JUST BE YOURSELF !!!! you will attract the people who are meant for you!

on writing genshin x reader posts:

here's some of my observations from over the last few years:

simple formatting with things easy to read has always worked better for me !!! consistent formatting too!

typically, posts with 5-7 characters tend to get the highest amount of notes. but please, don't force yourself to write for so many bc it does get exhausting after a while !!!

if you're in GMT+8 : the best timings to post are from 10:30-1:30am hehee

consistently checking the notes count will not do you any good :") your works are great, even if they don't reach a large audience!

looking through the genshin x reader tag for inspiration is always wonderful! i think it goes without saying to not plagiarize though HAHHAH but reading genshin x readers has always helped me to fill my brainrots !!! and discussing things with friends, yes yes!

Okay so I have a few concerns. I'll list them down below. 1. The font on the application is difficult to read, even when I have my glasses on. The custom font just isn't doin it even if it 'aesthetically' matches the rp. This is a blatant accessibility issue. 2. Why is the age restriction not prominent anywhere EXCEPT the application? And why are you so loose about it? 'A few months of turning 17' is still 16--even then, what 'heavy topics'? Death? You gotta be more specific, man. That should be explicitly stated on the blog's pinned, and it shouldn't be so loose. This isn't even mentioning how the server is open to join, but the application form is put up like it's the only way in. It should really focus on the character at least a bit, so you can gauge it. 3. I'm worried high ranks will be controlled exclusively by moderators despite this rp being apparently 'years old'. Apologies for being so cynical and skeptical, this just blares many many red flags.

First of all, thanks so much for taking the time out of your day to inquire with us! I'll take the time to answer these to the best of my ability. 1. We have two different methods in which you can apply, should you be having any issues ! It sounds like you're currently trying to apply through our google form. I hear that the font is hard for you to read; we'll send a message to our staff team to have that fixed. In the meantime, however, we do have in-server applications. If you check out our pinned post, there's a link directly to the server, where you can apply within. Hope this helps! 2. The age restriction is posted on our disboard, on the application, and within the server in our rules. Our mature topics include things like death, politics, gore, betrayal, and other emotional or mentally taxing events or encounters. We don't host any 'sexual' topics, in or out of roleplay, so while we do have an age requirement of 17 [with a wave of 3 months should other parts of your application go through accordingly], this is just to ensure that we're all at about the same maturity. For context on that, we require social medias and a roleplay sample upon applying- this is for us to scope out the applicant [ensure there's no hatespeech, or signs of hate in any way, and/or ensure there's no support of anything we don't want brought into the server, etc]. Our age requirement is less for anything legal, and more for the comfort of our older members and our peace of mind. As most of us are 18 or older, it's a common agreeance that it would just feel strange to associate with, say, 14-15 year olds on a regular basis- not because we're outwardly inappropriate. Again referring to the answer on our first question for the latter portion of #2- you *are* able to apply from within; we have multiple ways of applying!! If you look at our pinned post, it's almost easier to go directly into the server to apply than through our google docs. We just like to provide multiple forms for everyone's comfort levels, since not everyone might want to join a server and apply with the chances of being turned away. 3. This is a great concern and something that we actively try to avoid! In RECODED, we have some pretty original lore, which allows for about 4 healers [formerly known as medicine cats, which we have changed the title of as we felt it was cultural appropriation to keep it that way] per faction, and also opens up some new positions such as something called a 'matchmaker' in Empyrean Ichor. We currently have slots for 20 high positions including full healers and their apprentices, and currently only stand at having 8 staff total. We actually just introduced a matchmaker and their apprentice to the ranks, the only role of its kind, neither of which being staff. We also have two deputies out of the three factions also not being staff. While three leaders are currently staff, only two began as staff when the server began- the third only becoming staff later after great involvement and activity. There are a few things to note such as those being in high positions very likely being the ones to either apply or be scouted for staff, when they originally did not attain their positions while staff. So while a good chunk [but not all] of our staff members have a high position, or what we refer to as POPS [positions of power] in RECODED, it's not due to us actively only choosing staff for these positions. Anyone at any time is allowed to apply for an open position of power, and have been urged to at many separate occasions. As for your last comment, no worries! I appreciate that you took the time to ask for clarification rather than just writing us off! I hope these replies smooth out any worries you had and that you feel comfortable to come to us again if need be!

This is also another Felix mate bond fic that is slow burn, frenemies to lovers. This fic is in its early stages, with major events still being drafted.

Hi! Welcome to my blog! I’ll go ahead and say a little about myself here so we’re all on the same page. My name is Ilahi (ee-lah-ee), and I am 24 years old. I’m currently in grad school, which means that I have to do a lot of academic reading and writing. This sometimes means that I slow down on my fun reading/writing. Despite that, I am bound and determined to update how like home (my main wip) at least once a month, as well as my other wips as often I can.

The fandoms I write for currently are Harry Potter (yes, I know, it’s 2022, but I have an allergy to abandoning projects, so until I finish the fics I’ve started, I’m a bit stuck. Fuck JKR, fuck terfs, trans women are women) and Irondad (note, not the MCU, but irondad specifically). The fandoms I read are much more diverse, but also tend to be much more fleeting. At the time of writing this, I’ve been reading a lot of the owl house fanfic.

Which brings me to the fic rec portion of this intro post! Here’s a couple favs that I’ve read recently!

1. the ceramics series by unexpected chair: darius takes hunter in and they figure out how to navigate their new situation despite all of their trauma. the misunderstandings and difficulties they face make so much sense and are resolved in a way that heals both them and me 2. irreplaceable by for_the_night: tony discovers that harley is his bio son and ends up neglecting peter. peter has to deal with that and then, once tony realizes how much of a dick he’s been, peter has to figure out how/if he wants to let tony back into his life. i’m a sucker for a parental figure having to dig themselves out of a hole of their own making and this one really hits that spot 3. no bed of roses by ladyluciusash87: as a kid, harry meets snape’s daughter... except she has no idea and neither does snape. eventually the truth outs, and snape is horribly jealous of how much more his daughter loves harry than him. the oc’s are so well developed and i am loving watching snape deal with that emotional minefield and also very gradually open his eyes as to how great harry actually is finally, and i know this is a massively long pinned post at this point, i’d be remiss if i didn’t include the invitation to my discord server! everyone’s welcome, and i’d love to see you there! click here to join <3

I would like to keep this blog as discourse free as possible, as every time I've been thrown into it, I've been harassed, told to kill myself, and in two cases, doxxed. Some of that harassment still continues to this day, and I regularly have to delete anon asks with disturbing content. I will block drama causers without response, as I no longer feel the need to try and back sass you to "one up" you like I did as a teenager. I'm 22, I've grown passed that, and I'm tired. We can coexist quietly and amicably or we can block one another and move on.

Below this is the context of the previous discourse I was involved in, because I'd rather be transparent for anyone just showing up. Warning: It's not as short as I'd like. (TWs: mentions of stalking, harassment, death threats, and suicide baiting)

I will not be deleting any old discourse. It is something I was involved in regardless of how much I wish I wasn't, so I refuse to just erase it despite my personal growth. Everyone may do stupid shit as a teen, however, that will not stop me from holding myself to a higher standard explicitly because it's me. 2019-2020 ish is where the last of the public responses end, I believe.

When I first joined the Fairy Tail fandom, I had a real life stalker, who used the ship Gray/Juvia (and many others) as an example of why I would have to fall in love with him eventually. I was fourteen. This fucked me up beyond belief.

Because of that whole fiasko, I politely asked shippers of the ship and people who really loved Juvia's character to DNI. I wanted nothing to do with it because it brought up all of that trauma and fear. I immediatly began recieving harassment and I was being told that the only reason I didn't like them was because I shipped queer ships in the fandom and thought Juvia was "in the way." The latter didn't bother me much, but the mass amounts of messages telling me to kill myself was incredibly straining.

I fully acknowledge that none of the following was the correct way to go about things, even if it was much better than the alternatives(ex: harassing back).

So I started putting out little anlyses showing the toxicity of the relationship and Juvia's various mental health issues that are never dealt with in the series, and I've even written fics about it. The harassment only grew worse.

I couldn't---and still really don't---understand why people would seek out people who don't like what they do just to harass them, and vice versa. That's why I and a few others who didn't enjoy the ship created a vent blog to keep all of the dislike for the ship contained, and even encouraged shippers to block us, which unfortunately, did not work. We wanted it to stay away from anyone who didn't want to see it, but to be there for those who needed that space to vent about it without it being traced back to their blogs where they could be harassed and sent death threats for disliking something. (This blog is no longer used by anyone. it's been fully shut down, as it should have never existed at all.)

It backfired greatly, and even now I get 15-20 anon asks a week telling me how I should end my life. Sometimes they spike up randomly into 100 a week for shits and giggles.

Because of the way that the harassers treated my friends and I, I believed fiction affected reality on a 1:1 ratio for a long time, which it doesn't. I thought the whole "Anti vs proshipping" discourse was a firm stance on your morals because no one corrected me, yet I was being harrassed by both, which is what forced me to come to terms with the fact that I was being played like a fiddle for a fool.

The entire thing was incredibly immature and ridiculous. Fiction does not affect reality on a 1:1 scale, and it's better for dark topics to be explored in fiction than in real life. That doesn't mean I should have been harassed for not wanting to interact with a certain aspect of it, but that also means I should have just blocked people who were harassing me instead of giving them the angry responses they wanted.

I will fully admit to many of my responses being made out of anger, fear and with more generalizations than they should have been because of the above. Those people were also harassing my friends and I, so I do not feel remorse for being unkind, only for being unfair with my comparisons of fiction to reality.

I have never told anyone to kill themselves, that they should be caught in an accident, or harassesed anyone. I hate the way it feels to be told those things, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemies nor the people who harassed me.

Should you scroll down into my blog, you may encounter some of this very angry discourse, and you will, due tumblr showing you the most recent posts first, encounter some of the final, angriest pieces of that discourse without the context for any of it. So here's your context, make of it what you will, and I can only hope that you don't judge me solely on 14-18 year old me's poor descisions and reactions.

Hi! I’m Faithdragon36, (She/Her They/Them Ae/Aer), but you can call me Faith, or 36. I’m an artist who frequently draws my own OCs, alongside fandom content whenever some media hits me juuuust right. Currently, that media is Ranboo’s horror series, Generation Loss!

I have like four thousand sideblogs so if I like something from you and don’t reblog it’s almost certainly gone in a queue somewhere, especially if it’s art or creative writing!! Do not despair! THAT'S THE ONLY ONE I LIKE!! i love watching vids about journaling and that kind of thing and they make the cutest decorated polaroids so i wanted to do something like that but very cutesy themed,, spring made me think of picnics so gingham <3 i actually played around with a few similar concepts like polaroid + random stickers and i planned to make banners with that but uuuu there are so many characters,, can't keep my focus for too long. i think they came out cute but it's probably too late to use them </3

i always wonder about what do people use to edit their pics because i was born a ps girlie and i still don't know how to use ps properly oops making your themes look nice and cohesive,, those cute pinned etc etc people who edit icons and make them look super aesthetic

i think i never tried to promote my blog because followers don't feel like an integral part of the process for me. i just write what comes to mind and share it with the world: if people like it i'm absolutely delighted and if they don't well,, at the end of the day most of my writing has been fun for me ^^ like come on i've written things that are silly and self indulgent and they worked fine and i'm here like. wow

i have considered writing for more series but the thing is the media i like has a fandom of like. 2.5 people on the good days. so it really doesn't make too much sense to even try that <.< genshin fandom scares tf out of me so i'll keep my extra fluffy albedo thoughts to myself. the bazillion "childe being a dumbass in love" posts. kazuha writing poetry. oops. getting flashbacks to the time i almost made a hypmic blog but i stopped myself at the last second out of embarrassment

i'm torn on whether a) people just aren't interested in that kind of content anymore (no way) or b) people DO read our stuff, they simply don't interact. not even a like. the migration of people from other social media into tumblr,, like sorry but i've been here since 2016? and it gets worst for writers every day </3

i have an immense amount of cute enstars thoughts a day and i feel like if i can't share them i will combust (my best friend has to deal with me every day),, it's mostly cute romantic stuff with my favs and my ocs, for obv reasons so i'm like uuuu should i even tell this to someone it's just embarrassing. like only other enstarries could understand why i keep rotating this bunch of dorks around my brain and getting the biggest serotonin boost out of it ueeee
