I read this book back in december when I requested it on Netgalley and was accepted. I loved it, perhaps love isn't a proper word for a book like this one for there is so much horror and pain in it. But it is a necessary book, an important book, a book that everyone should read. . "This book is heartbreaking, hard, difficult, sad… but what amazes me is the hope, it is hopeful. Lale, Gita and many other people went to hell, and spent there three years of their lives, three years stolen from them, and they never lost hope. And they loved, and they were loved. Today my coffee.

For over 5 months I’ve been coming to this café for my coffee break. I am finishing this course tomorrow and if there’s one thing I will regret about it is not coming here on a daily basis anymore as I live in a different part of town. I’ve been reading and having my coffee with whatever niceties the staff would offer me... so, tomorrow is the last day and apart from the tip (which isn’t compulsory in my country, you should know) I will be leaving a little package of chocolates, for all the kindness they’ve shown me. I’ve read so many books with these women around

I am kind of obsessed with Dazai as a writer. No Longer Human, or Ningen Shikkaku, or Indigno de ser humano (you see, I'm Spanish) is now one of my favourite books ever. It's a book by Dazai about Dazai... it makes me think, it makes me cry, it makes me even pray for his spirit (and let me tell you, I'm pretty much an atheist). I had a reader's block for a long time, Dazai saved me. I'm so grateful. Happy cherry day Dazai-sensei. Tanjôbi omedetô gozaimasu
