"YN," the interviewer said, you and Jacob were sitting side by side with expectation shown in your faces, "Jacob."

"Hello," you said in unison, which made you look at each other and laugh.

"We're going to be taking a lie detector test today," the interviewer explained, "One of you will he hooked up to the machine while the other asks questions, and then you'll switch."

"Why are my palms sweating?" you said, making Jacob laugh and kiss the side of your head quickly.

"Who would you like to go first?" the interviewer asked again.

Jacob and you looked at each other for a few seconds before he winked at you and told the interviewer he would go first.

The video showed someone from the crew getting the machine ready and getting Jacob hooked to it.

"Do I look afraid?" Jacob asked, making you relax and laugh.

"You look fine, babe," you looked at the guy who was in charge of the machine, who give you the cue that you could start asking questions, "Okay, is your real name Jacob Elordi?"

"Yes," he answered.

"Were you born in Melborune, Australia?"

"No, I was born in Brisbane."

"Are you ready to take this lie detector test?" you asked, a smile playing on your face.

"I think so," he looked at you with a nervous smile and then looked at the camera.

"Okay, let's get started."

JACOB ELORDI TELLS THE TRUTH

"So, you were born in Australia. Do you like LA better?" you asked, reading the folder in front of you.

"Right now, yeah," Jacob answered, a small screen on the top left showing the lie detector machine working.

"Would you say you've adopted the LA lifestyle since moving here?"

"Yes,"

"Do you like going to yoga classes with me?" you raised your eyebrow, noticing a smile appearing on Jacob's face

"Absolutely." he answered confidently and you directed your raised eyebrow to the man behind the machine.

"He's telling the truth," the man said

"Were you doubting me?" Jacob said, an offended tone in his voice.

"Just confirming," you looked at the folder once again,"Do you consider yourself a heartthrob?"

"Yeah," he answered, but the look on his face said otherwise.

"A lie," the man said.

"I don't consider myself a heartthrob," he began, "but I mean I guess I kinda have to accept it."

"Yep, there you go," you said and a cheeky smile played on your face as you read the following question, "Have you ever felt jealous of any of my co stars?"

The room got quiet after the question, Jacob threw his head back and closed his eyes for a moment, and you couldn't help but laugh.

"Just answer the question!" you said and he shook his head.

"I wouldn't say that I'm a jealous person, specially not of your co stars because I'm an actor myself and I know how it works," he began, "I'm just protective, okay?"

"No reading, that was too close," the man behind the machine spoke, "It was a gray area, we could ask it again or we could just move on."

"Let's move on, he doesn't want to admit that he was jealous of Andrew Garfield on camera," you joked and Jacob couldn't help but laugh along, "Did you feel nervous during our first date?"

"Yes," his eyes widened at the memory, "I was about to piss my pants, actually."

"Truth,"

"Oh I already knew that," you shrugged with a cocky smile, "If I asked you to move to New York with me, would you do it?"

"Yeah, definitely," he smiled, "New York is the shit."

"Alright, babe, let's keep this interesting," you said with a grin. The lie detector machine still monitoring his responses, "Have you ever borrowed my clothes without asking?"

"Of course, guilty as charged," Jacob chuckled, "Your oversized sweaters are just too comfy to resist, love, and don't get me started on your purses,"

"This shouldn't have been a question, everyone knows the purses you use to go out are mine," you rolled your eyes with affection,"Okay last one from me,"

"Bring it,"

"Do you believe in love at first sight?"

You looked at Jacob curiously, and he took a moment before replying.

"Yeah, I do," he answered smoothly, "I mean when I met you, there was this instant connection, and I just knew there was something special about you."

"He's telling the truth," the lie detector confirmed, and you couldn't help but smile.

"Smooth answer, Elordi. Looks like we're on the same page about love at first sight," he smiled back at you, "Lord that was so cheesy, It's my turn! But, did at any point of this interview did you lie and we didn't catch you?"

"I mean, I don't know if you caught me," Jacob rested his chin on his hand.

"Did he lie?" you asked the man, both you and Jacob turning to look at him.

"He's not lying," He confirmed and Jacob gave you a smug smile

"I guess you passed the test."

YN TELLS THE TRUTH

You took your place in the hot seat while Jacob prepared to play the role of the interrogator, nerves kicking in as the crew hooked you up to the machine.

"Okay, YN," Jacob said, a smirk showing on his face, "Let's get started, shall we?"

You nodded and he sent you a wink.

"Is your favorite movie still 'The Notebook'?"

"Absolutely," you answered immediately and the machine confirmed your answer.

"Classic," he muttered, "Have you ever faked a compliment about my cooking?"

"Maybe once or twice, but it's only because I didn't want to hurt your feelings," you bit your lip, and Jacob gave you a surprised expression

"So, I've been living a lie?" he raised his eyebrow at you.

"No, no," you reassured him, "Your cooking skills have definitely improved over time."

"Truth," the man in charge of the lie detector said, and Jacob nodded in approval.

"Fair enough. Now, have you ever pretended to like a movie just because I wanted to watch it?"

"Guilty again," you covered your face in embarrassment,"But in my defense, no one wants to watch the Star Wars movies after a long day of filming."

"My feelings are definitely hurt," Jacob said and dramatically put a hand on his chest, "This test is making you look like a bad girlfriend, actually,"

"Come on now, give me more questions,"

"Alright, let's dig a little deeper," Jacob said with a smirk, "Have you ever considered stealing my phone to read my text messages?"

"Maybe once or twice," you said, "But only out of curiosity, not suspicion."

"Well, you know I'm wrapped around your finger so I would let you go through it anytime," he shrugged, "Do you think my Australian accent is sexier than your American one?"

"Oh, come on! That's not a fair question," you couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Just answer the question, love," Jacob teased.

"Fine, fine," you said, still laughing, "Yes, your Australian accent is undeniably sexy."

"Truth," the machine confirmed, and Jacob playfully raised an eyebrow looking satisfied.

"Do you regret any of the roles you've played?" he asked, and you took a deep breath before answering.

"No, all of the roles I've played have been very meaningful to me," you replied, and the man operating the machine machine looked at you with a raised eyebrow."

"She's lying," he simply said, and you shut your eyes hearing Jacob laugh.

"I guess you have some explaining to do," he chuckled, shooting a playful glare at you, "Come on, spill it."

"Okay, fine," you admitted, "There was this one project early in my career that I took for the paycheck, and looking back, I wish I had chosen something more aligned with my values. It's not a regret per se, but more of a lesson learned."

"Fair enough," Jacob nodded, moving to the next question, "Have you ever stalked fan accounts dedicated to me?"

"Maybe a casual scroll here and there," you admitted, trying to seem cool about it.

"Casual scroll, huh?" Jacob raised an eyebrow and peeked at the lie detector, "The machine doesn't seem convinced, right?" he asked the man.

"It's a lie," he confirmed ad Jacob burst into laughter.

"Caught red-handed, love. What's next? Have you ever used my toothbrush without telling me?" he teased, making you laugh

"No way! That's just gross," you protested

"You hesitated there. Are you sure?" Jacob raised an eyebrow again

The machine signaled the truth, and you sighed in relief.

"I was just grossed out by the thought. I promise I've never done that."

"It's not like we haven't kissed before," he teased and you rolled your eyes but smiled, "Okay last question.

"Hit me with it," you said, ready for whatever it would be.

"Have you ever thought about what our future holds? Like, where we'll be in 10 years?" he asked, his expression turning serious.

You took a moment to contemplate the question.

"Yes," you answered sincerely, "I think about it quite often. I imagine us still together, maybe with a family, still acting and pursuing our passions and of course supporting each other."

"Truth," the lie detector machine confirmed your words, and Jacob's serious expression softened into a warm smile.

"Well, looks like we're on the same page there once again," he said, "Did you lie at any time and we didn't catch you?"

"Nope, I was an open book, babe," you replied, sending a wink his way.

"Did she lie?" Jacob turned to the man behind the machine,

The man hesitated for a moment, building suspense, before finally saying, "She's telling the truth."

"Told you!"

The video ended with both of you laughing at each other, and it became one of Vanity Fair's most watched Lie Detector tests.

Andrew Garfield talking about his girlfriend for 8 minutes video

Summary: A fan makes a YouTube video of Andrew Garfield talking about you for 8 minutes straight.

When the news of you and Andrew dating got out three years ago, fans and the media had a field day.

It wasn’t because you were anyone famous—quite the opposite. Being someone with a normal job, you and Andrew had basked in finally going outside as a couple, and it was how adorable the pictures looked that had everyone freaking out.

One picture was of you laughing, Andrew’s arms around you from behind as he wrapped his coat around you as he wore it, a grin on his face.

Another picture was of you looking at him, eyes set on one another with his hands tangled in your hair, while the other was of him kissing you and despite the photo not being one in high quality, everyone could still see the small smirk he had as you kissed.

It was no surprise when fans posted edits of you together, and although the content they got was minimal, considering your lack of presence in interviews and public press, it was always a field day when you appeared beside him on a red carpet or when you both did as little as grab yourselves some coffee.

Andrew Garfield talking about his girlfriend y/n for 8 minutes straight

The 8-minute and 29-second video started with lofi music over an advertisement for marvel hoodies that everyone seemed to promote, before a sound of glitching television sounded and the video started.

The video started with Andrew and Zendaya’s Actor on Actor interview when they first started talking about Zendaya’s performance on Euphoria.

“Makes me want to cry. I didn’t feel like there was any acting. It felt like you were living through something in such an authentic way,” Andrew said, “And I remember I watched episode 5 with Y/N—with my girlfriend, and she was just like, ‘Andy, can you check up on Zendaya?’”

Zendaya smiled, being her usual self who got flustered at any compliment or praise, “She did text me that night, I remember.”

“She did,” he nodded, “She was so heartbroken over the episode.”

The video then moved to show Andrew during his Wired Autocomplete interview, the foam board in his hand as he took off the sticker that hid the question.

“Does Andrew Garfield sing in Tick, Tick…Boom?” He read, “So, Andrew Garfield does sing in Tick, Tick…Boom, yes. Thank you,” he answered, “I worked very, very closely with an amazing vocal coach, Liz Caplan, and all of Lin Manuel Miranda’s amazing musical direction team. They enabled me to open my voice up to the point where I could honor Jon’s songs and feel confident enough to belt them out as he always did when he was doing his one-man show,” he nodded slight, “It was a privilege to be able to learn a skill that I’ve always wanted to attain but my girlfriend wouldn’t really agree,” he chuckled, looking at the camera, “Y/N’s had enough of my singing, because every time I’d learn something new, it’d be the only thing I’d be doing around our home and she’s incredible, she has a job that she needs to focus on and rest from, but I was always there singing and annoying her,” he laughed, “She’s a gem for putting up with me.”

Another clip then played as Andrew read Buzzfeed’s thirst tweets, headphones on his ears.

“Andrew Garfield if you see this on your secret Twitter account, I’m free this weekend if you want to get lunch or drinks or something, just let me know. If you want to do it earlier, I can do dinner during the week,” he chuckled as he read the tweet, “But I’m usually busy before six,” he finished with a laugh, leaning back in his seat, “I love that. That’s very, very—I like hyper-vigilance. I like specificity of plans,” he said, “But I’m going to have to give you a rain check on that because I’m actually busy on the weekend, unless you want to join in on my girlfriend and I’s date, then it’s fine by me,” he laughed, “I can do lunch during the week though, but we’re going to have to have that at Y/N’s office because that’s where you’ll usually find me having my lunch.”

The clip then moved to Andrew on the Ellen show, getting asked about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and having to lie to people.

“Who knew? Beside your agent, who knew that you were doing this? I mean, how hard is that? To keep it to—I mean, your family knew?” Ellen asked him.

“Yeah, my dad, my brother, and my mother at the time,” he answered with a smile, “Yeah, just kind of us. It was fun to keep it secret,” he grinned, “Because you know when you’re planning a surprise birthday party for someone, and then you’re like, tell me, you know I hate surprises, but I can see it on your face that you’re just like ‘I’m not gonna tell you’,” he shook his head with his wide grin, “So it felt like I was part of organizing a surprise birthday party for a bunch of people whom I knew would appreciate it.”

“Did your girlfriend know?”

Beaming even more, “Y/N had no idea,” he said, laughing, “And—lying to the media, to the fans, that was easy and fun, but lying to my girlfriend has got to be—it was one of the most agonizing and terrible things I have ever done.”

“You lied to her for what? Two years?”

“Technically, it was a year and a few months,” Andrew pointed.

“And how—how did she take that? I’d be pretty offended.”

He laughed, shaking his head, “She wasn’t, she wasn’t. I knew she’d appreciate it because she knows how I feel about my experience with the character, and it was—I’ll tell you something,” he sat up, smiling, “It was worth every single moment where I had to tell her I was shooting for another movie when I saw her reaction when we went to watch it together,” he said, “We had to watch it again because she couldn’t really focus after I was on screen,” he laughed, “But yeah, it—it was definitely hard having to lie to her, and it definitely made her tease me about trust for a while, but she supported me throughout without even knowing.”

The clip then moved to the last one, being from a recent interview with GQ of 10 things Andrew can’t live without.

In a t-shirt and sporting a full beard, he held a silver necklace with a compass on it.

“This is a necklace with a compass on it,” he said, holding the necklace in his hands before the camera zoomed on it before it showed him again, “My girlfriend Y/N gave this to me in a period where I needed to trust the direction I was going, even if I didn’t know where I was going,” he chuckled, looking at it, “It’s become such a symbol of our relationship because in a way, to me, it feels like it navigates us both back to where we have always met, toward our common interests and our differences that initially made us attracted to each other. But she’s always been very persistent on her support for me and my journey in my career, and my journey as a person, so this necklace is just a reminder from her that the direction I’m headed in is always one I can find value in,” he smiled, “My relationship with Y/N is very essential to me. She’s just—She’s truly my person, and this necklace is a symbol of the deep connection we have with each other.”

warnings because it is a handful; Crying, Kidnapping, Screaming, Panic Attacks, Death, Acid, Denial, and tell me if you find more please

also, if you find a section that says she/her pronouns, tell me. That’s how I’m used to writing but I’m trying to switch to they/them. But I do still use girlfriend in this fic, I don’t like using partner because it seems kind of weird to me, any suggestions and I’ll change it

Also, it’s an angst fic

”My girlfriend has been kidnapped,” Billy said to Rosa, “Why would I not freak out?! How could someone know I’m Shazam! What did I do wrong?!”

“Billy, calm down,” Rosa hugged him, he was crying, then then the news channel sent out an emergency video to be watched.

Everyone turned to see it.

“Hey, Shazam,” a man in a black mask said, staring at the screen in front of him.

“I hope you’re seeing this, because, I’m not doing it again. But your poor dearest Y/n is with me and, I’m assuming you want them back, yes?” He chuckled, “Either, you give me your powers, or they die, or both! It is your choice, I know you love them, and how easily I could snap their little neck would hurt, would it not?” Then it switched back to the news.

Billy was having a panic attack on the floor, Rosa was in front of him, he was sobbing, he could not breathe, his whole body trembling.

“Billy, Breathe.” Rosa said, “I know people hate getting told that, but please try.”

He did, he really did.

“You go save your girlfriend, okay? But the others are not home, so it’s just you.”

“I..” He leaned into his mothers embrace, unable to bare his hurt.

Shazam saw Y/n, tied up, upside down, about to fall into a pool of acid.

“Hey, where’s the staff?” The guy asked, his voice way squeaker than before.

“You sound so menacing,” Shazam chuckled.

“That’s what they said to!” He whined, “Now, where is the staff?”

“You don’t have it?” Shazam stared at him.

“No, I don’t, which means,” he pulled a lever and Y/n fell in, Shazam screamed.

“And to know it’s all your fault,” he grinned, disappearing with a snap.

Shazam stared into the bucket of acid, they were in there, he flew up, pulled the rope that held them, tying it up so they hung up, he untied them, holding their body.

He then flew away from the acid, down to a pond at a park and placed them in, acid going everywhere, they was dead, he was sobbing.

“No, that’s not fair!” He cried, “Y/n! Y/n!”

The commotion was heard and people went over, Victor stared at Y/n and Shazam.

Freddy went over, staring.

Billy had shut everyone out of his life, he would no longer go on missions, anything, he just hated the thought.

He killed his girlfriend, his love, the person he could always rely on. The person he adored, he trusted.

Their funeral was today, he was crying and sobbing, but their body was not found in the casket, their mother screamed.

Billy had gone silent, his crying stopped, he said nothing, the ring he had in his pocket. The one he was going to propose to them with today if they still had been able to go on that date.

It was a mystery, no one understood. Billy had never been more freaked out, where were they?

Billy was crying in his room, when the door rang to the house. He just so happened to be the only one home. He went downstairs and answered it.

“Hello, honey.” Y/n’s mother smiled, “I’ve got something to tell you…”

-There's SO MUCH indie music artist that are posting AMAZING songs they've written, sometimes posting multiple times a week, they make incredible progress every new video and it's amazing everytime (This one specifically caught my interest ; AZALI which is starting to be a bigger channel, I love their work)

and lastly, ever felt how dense youtube is now?, how much information scrolling for 1 seconds throws at you, adds or not, so many videos that you may like and here's the worse part; YOU MIGHT LIKE IT YEAH, it's scary and always has been. It's convenient, sure, but I don't know if it's good reallyyy ANYWAY

I'm a Tyler Galpin apologist but NOT an Xavier Thorpe hater. I am also a HadleyRaoul—and Raoul de Chagny in general—defender, and a Raoulstine shipper (BUT I love the Phantom/Erik and do not dislike him by any means 🥺), and I generally don't acknowledge Love Never Dies much. My favorite cast of Studio C is the original cast (including Tori, Dalton and Aaron) but I still enjoy some of the sketches from the new cast. I also love the Star Wars original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, but not really the sequels. I don't mind the third HTTYD movie and I love all the HTTYD series. My favorite Spider-Man movies are the TASM ones, and Andrew Garfield is my fav Spider-Man/Peter Parker. Yes I love both Narnia and His Dark Materials.

Thoughts on the upcoming Garfield Movie (2024) [SUPER LONG POST]

Chances are, unless you've been living in a remote cave in the mountains, you are aware that there's a new Garfield movie coming out in 2024. Yes, that's right. Twenty whole years after the disastrous live-action movie, and seventeen years following that film's sequel, and we are treated to the fat cat's antics on the big screen once more -- In full animation, no less.

However, you're probably aware of another quite notable aspect of this upcoming popcorn flick. An aspect of the film that has drummed up endless controversy, and it's the fact that the titular feline is voiced by none other than the internet's favorite punching bag, Chris Pratt.

Now, something like this isn't new. I remember when The Super Mario Bros. Movie was in the works, and they announced the cast, hearing the fact that this far-from-Italian man was going to be playing one of the most prolific video game characters of our time no doubt turned many people off. (It certainly didn't help that the trailers for said film showed him speaking in a so-called "normal voice") But once the film actually came out people had already started to warm up to him playing Mario.

But him playing Garfield somehow broke the entire internet, and it looks like people aren't going to be warming up to it the way they warmed up to Mario.

I personally think it boils down to the fact that Chris Pratt is already an pretty well un-liked name in the movie industry. First and foremost, there's his political controversies. I'm not going to go into too much detail, as I like to avoid talking about politics on my Tumblr, but Pratt has a well-documented history of racist actions. In 2019, he once wore a Gadsden flag on a T-shirt, a flag designed during the American Revolution which has been co-opted by white supremacists. He has also worn a Betsy Ross star baseball hat, which although not widely considered as racist, has been tied to other racist controversies, most notably one with Nike that same year. And let's not forget that Chris' brother, Cully Pratt, may be a member of the far-right supremacist militia Three Percenters, and Chris himself has alleged ties to the Zoe Church, a church in Australia that practices anti-LGBTQ+ conversion therapy.

So, yeah. He's not exactly what I would call a clean individual. On top of all this, he's seen as a rather boring individual by some, and upon reading up on these controversies, it sort of soiled my enjoyment of his other films, such as the aforementioned Mario and the Lego Movie.

Going back to Garfield, the other thing I would like to bring up is the fact that Garfield really only has two genuine voice actors (or three depending if you consider the live-action movies canon)

Without a doubt, the most well-known voice actor for Garfield was and still is Lorenzo Music, who portrayed the cat in numerous animated TV specials and the animated series Garfield and Friends. (1988-1994) He is the voice most people think of when they think of Garfield, but sadly, he passed away in 2001 at the age of 64. He also played other roles such as Peter Venkman in the The Real Ghostbusters, and Super Pac-Man in the Pac-Man animated series.

But it was Garfield that gave him stardom, and to this day, there are some people who say Garfield just doesn't sound the same unless it's done by him. But here's the kicker - He's been dead for 22 years. So, we need to find replacements.

Garfield's most prevalent voice actor for the past few years (while not the only one) has been Frank Welker, a voice actor who has acted in countless cartoons, but is easily best known for his long-running role as Fred Jones in the Scooby-Doo franchise, as well as voicing Megatron in numerous iterations of the Transformers franchise. Welker's role as Garfield has also been the source of controversy; You either love him or hate him, so I'm told.

Long tangent over. Back to the movie. What do I think? I'll give you my thoughts in the form of a checklist.

✅I like the trailer.

✅I don't like Chris Pratt's voice. (Or, just him in general.)

✅I think this film may will still be somewhat decent.

One of the defining (and probably most jarring) bits of the trailer to me is unfortunately, Chris Pratt's voice. As someone who grew up accustomed to hearing either Lorenzo Music or Frank Welker coming out of Garfield, hearing this distinctly human-sounding voice seemed rather odd. It worked with Mario, I think, because Mario himself is a human. Garfield is a well-fed tabby cat with the personality of a grumpy old man. And hearing Chris Pratt's rather upbeat voice coming out of him sounded rather jarring.

But in a way, I kind of liked it... at first. I thought it sounded not too far off from Frank Welker's Garfield voice, just with a slightly higher pitch. So, what made me change my mind?

!!!HOT TAKE INCOMING!!!

I think it may have had something to do with me learning about Chris Pratt's racist past and right-wing ties. That might have soiled it for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm still probably going to see the movie. But I feel that if you do go out to see this movie, at least be somewhat aware of who you're giving money to. I know the people who watch Guardians of the Galaxy aren't necessarily bad people because they watch Chris Pratt as Star-Lord. But they need to be somewhat aware of the kind of people getting royalties.

So now, whenever I hear Chris Pratt's voice coming out of one of my cartoon icons, all I can really think is "This guy is a piece of crap in real life." And it's a shame too, because there's one part in the trailer that shows Pratt can deliver a decent, Garfield-y sounding voice.

In the part where Vic (Garfield's father, played by Samuel L. Jackson) asks if Garfield has ever jumped out of a train, Garfield responds with "I've never jumped." And this phrase is delivered in a deep monotone that sounds perfect for Garfield. I figure if the entire trailer had been done in that voice, it would have had a far less negative reaction from fans.

As for the rest of the trailer, it honestly looks good. I particularly like the character designs, and yes, Baby Garfield is just precious. Forget Baby Yoda, this one wins the award for cutest marketable character.

I'd also heard some people complaining about Odie's design. I previously made a post talking about how Odie's design may have been based on his original 1978 version, so I won't bring it up here.

Personally, once you can get past the confusing mess that was Chris Pratt's vocal performance, you get what looks like a decent film. I imagine it will end up a lot like the Mario movie -- Not a real critic pleaser, but I'm sure fans of the franchise will like it okay.

So, to put if brief, I'm somewhat excited. But I'm also in a conflict of interest. I honestly don't mind other people doing the voice of Garfield. I personally believe that people can be so bound to their nostalgia that to hear something that looks familiar but sounds different can come across as somewhat uncanny.

I grew up with Garfield. I had the Garfield and Friends: Behind the Scenes DVD as a child. I loved that DVD, and the free mini Garfield plush that came with it. So growing up, I knew Lorenzo Music as Garfield, despite being born after his death. So hearing Lorenzo's voice is nostalgic to me. But I refuse to let nostalgia get in the way of criticism. Just because something's new doesn't instantly mean it's bad.

With that being said, Chris Pratt as Garfield isn't terrible. He's just not a great Garfield. If the folks at Alcon Entertainment could replace him with a better voice actor, that would be great. But sometimes, it's not that easy. We are so close to May of 2024, and by then, the film will already be out. It would take a good while for them to scrounge a new Garfield voice. The first Sonic the Hedgehog movie had to be delayed a good few months to tweak the character design, and I imagine it would be the same if they were to find a new Garfield.

So in closing: Chris Pratt as Garfield? Big, fat hairy deal.

That new Andrew Garfield television show ‘Under The Banner Of Heaven’ is v good and each episode is a really great length and feels satisfying and has great pacing and each episode feels like it ends in a satisfying place so each episode feels full and purposeful and intentional as to why it ends when it does, not just narriatively, but also technically speaking, like almost like a full movie where it’s like “yes of course it ends there” without telegraphing it in really obvious ways the way that with a lot of media you can tell when it’s about to end, and it’s overall really well made and entertaining to watch and it makes me glad that you don’t feel the NEED to binge it because of the way that it’s made makes it feel ok to stop after each episode, which is also really refreshing in a space where most video media rn feels like it encourages audiences to continue binge watching and press play on the next thing and the next thing, be it television shows, movies, online video content, etc. and having a show that’s made in 2022 that provides ample space to stop after each episode, while not feeling over-stuffed or like you have to stop to digest everything, but more like there is space to stop if you want to, is very welcome rn.

Having said that I want to watch the next episode rn like immediately. Not because the show was created to encourage binge-watching it, but because that’s such a great and well made show rn that, comparitively, watching other media that’s being released publicly at the same time as ‘Under The Banner Of Heaven’ is being released rn in 2022, it feels like I’ve been eating chocolate for a week and rn I really want some fruit.

Are you named after anyone?

If we're talking about my legal name, which no one calls me, yes. My entire name is made up of other people. I've never liked it. I'm very happy that throughout my life I have been very nicknameable.

2. When was the last time you cried?

I made my family's recipe for lasagna for Christmas dinner last year for the first time without my mom. It turned out really great, it tasted like hers and my grandmother's. It was very nice.

3. Do you have any kids?

Yes siree, I have one amazing child.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Overwhelmingly so. I will say I've been using it less cause it just doesn't translate sometimes and it's led to… awkwardness

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Well, normally when I'm around new people my brain is blanketed in panic and discomfort until I realize someone is talking to me. So, that they are talking to me?

6. Eye colour?

Brown

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Scary movies I guess? I like scary movies but not always. However, I enjoy happy endings where everything just worked out much less often than I enjoy darker themes with an unfortunate/bittersweet endings.

8. Any special talents?

Uuugh. I have no idea. That I can spin a yarn?

9. Where were you born?

In a manger with better doctors and my dad's shitty video recording. The floor was beautiful.

10. What are your hobbies?

*looks around* Pretty much this. I will say I do enjoy sewing and like building stuff (I’m workin on shelves right now) but at this point yes I like it but I also just need a bench or kiddo needs his pants fixed so its less fun.

11. Have you any pets?

Yes! Two adorable brothers, Garfield and Chip. Or as we now call them both affectionately and angrily, Chewbacca and Noodle Cat.

12. What sports do you/have you play(ed)?

Basketball. I feel like I did play something else but it's all basketball in my head. I was on some kinda basketball team until college.

13. How tall are you?

165cm or 5”4’ or more importantly one inch taller than my older half-sister. It is how I win our fandom/media/any argument.

14. Favourite subject in school?

History. Loved it, still love it. It was always my favorite.

15. Dream job?

I have had many careers I’ve dreamed about having, and jobs I truly enjoyed but the time has come and gone on most of those dreams. I just like coming home to my family.

nat: it’s quite funny. we were filming and she had twizzlers in her pocket and just ate one and the duffers kept it in. and since then you’ll just see her eat twizzlers.

jk: she’s very possessive over them. in the scene where i reach to eat one, and she slaps my hand away, that wasn’t scripted and they kept it in.

yeah. i forgot that i had put them in there the day before. i also eat them in every show that i’ve been in.

It’s me again lol. Funnily enough I actually ship Gar and Kon. But garjon Sounds like an interesting ship I literally never would’ve thought of. Now I guess I have to watch Superman and Lois lol. Care to share your headcanons about garjon? Id love to hear them.

You ask for headcanons, you shall receive them,,

•If you can’t find Gar there's a good chance he's hanging out on Jon's shoulder as an animal. Usually a cat or bird of some kind, he just likes to lay up there. And if he's not doing that, he's shifted into a Ragdoll cat, following Jon around and walking between his legs, trying to get Jon to pick him up because he likes his bf's attention/affection.

And if Jon dares sit down for a moment, cat!Gar is instantly on him. Which Jon is fine with, he likes feeling like he's finally wanted by someone.

•Then when it's Jon's turn, he likes to sit behind Gar, wrap his arms around him, and rest the side of his face/or chin on his shoulder and watch Gar play a video game. Jon's not a video game person so he doesn't usually understand what's going on and declines when Gar offers two player, he'd much rather watch.

But if he's there to purposely but playfully bother Gar (because they both do to each other, very in-character), he'll kiss Gar's cheek just to distract him and when his distraction eventually makes Gar lose a life in the game or something else happen, he'll act all fake innocent like "oops, did I make that happen?" making Gar jokingly tell him to leave.

•When they introduce themselves to people and Gar has to tell them Gar is short for Garfield (since people ask), it's not a surprise if they get a "Wait, Jon and Garfield? Like the comic strip characters?"

•Jon's nickname for Gar is "tiger" because of his favorite animal and powers. Gar's nickname for Jon is "Starboy" since he's an alien from the stars, but Starboy evolves into "Starlight" when they're adults.

•When their relationship was in it's first stages they'd watch nature documentaries while cuddling on the couch and every time a new animal would come on screen, Jon would point it out, ask "can you turn into that?" and without fail Gar would answer yes, then occasionally shift his hand into the animal’s hand/hoof/paw/flipper/you get it. Making Jon be like "my boyfriend is so cool 😌❤️"

It took everything Jon had in him not to respond to his ex at school with "my boyfriend can turn into a hyena, so I dunno why the hell you're bragging about a motorcycle." after she'd tease him with some comment like "my boyfriend takes me out on his motorcycle after school. what can your boyfriend do again?".

•Just to make the residents of Smallville go "what the actual fuck", Jon strolled through town, on his way to the corner store, with Gar walking alongside him but as an alligator.

What do you think about Disney’s gargoyles, the tv show? I think it’s much better and mature and has some Batman the animated series vibes.

Hello Anon!

I was in the generation where I watched reruns of Gargoyles with my older siblings in the early/mid 2000's. We loved this show for the fact that it was much different than the animated shows Disney had at the time which were based on their IPs (Hercules, The Little Mermaid, and Goof Troop for example).

As for it was a better show, that depends on what you like to watch. It was diffidently influenced by BTAS (which ran from 1992-1995 but kept going on due to reruns) since that series took its audience seriously and knew it could still give its lessons but in a mature way.

The same could be said about Gargoyles. The creators took their audience seriously while also creating a show that was appropriate for kids and something parents could watch with them. It still had lessons but also characters who were more than comedic relief.

The villain is great, the cast of characters is memorable, and it's a series that may forget was a thing and is part of Disney Animation and storytelling.

That scene on KLAUS (2019) made me smile because that's what we want to see in our students. The simple joy and wonderment of learning. Even as simple as writing your name.

My #1 post of 2022

I've been sick for a few days so I can finally put my thoughts into words. I was in the middle of watching Infinity Train. Actually, I was on season 1 episode 3 and was going to continue watching the show when I had a chance.

But now I can't. I had to watch the news unfold by watching various TikTok users and reading Twitter threads. Then to realize that it was not only various animated shows that were taken off the HBO Max platform but also 200 episodes of Sesame Street.

And for what? A freaking tax credit? That's not how this works.

You see what Warner Brothers is doing is atrocious. Not only are they alienating an entire medium of entertainment, but they are also telling the animators, voice actors, editors, directors, and others that they don't matter.

Animation matters. The people who put their blood, sweat, and tears, and took time away from their families matter. The fans of these shows matter.

Warner Brothers is not going to save money, they are going to lose it in the worse way possible.

Later that night you were sitting in your bedroom doing chemistry homework. The work is scattered across your bed as you lay on your stomach kicking your feet in the air and biting the end of your pencil to concentrate. Unaware of the eyes watching you from your fire escape. Tap. Tap tap. You heard small tapping from your window and look out to see Peter goofily smiling at you.

You smiled and jumped off your bed running to the window and opening it. “Hi! What if someone saw you climb down here?” Peter climbs into your room, placing a hand on the wall for support as he stepped in. “No one saw me, don’t worry.” You rolled your eyes and laughed a bit. “20 stories down, mm-hmm sure no one saw you.”

Peter looked at you and then around your room, he’s never been in your room before. “This is your room?” you giggled. “Yes, this is my room.” Peter looks at you again then has a look like he just remembered something and started messing with his backpack. “Oh uh, I got your mom these.” He pulled out a bouquet, that is bent and broken.

“Oh-” You smile at how sweet he is but try not to laugh at the very sad but still lovely flowers. “Oh- oh love lovely.” “I know beautiful right?” You smile and put your hand over your mouth as peter put the flowers in front of his face. “They are beautiful” Peter put his face in the flowers and you sneakily take a picture of him with your phone as he spoke into the flowers.

“They were nice” You giggle. “No no they are beautiful.” “I’m sorry.” Your heart broke a bit hearing him apologize. “No, it's impressive! They held together very well.” Peter looked at you and smiled. “I’m gonna keep these.” You nodded. “Got your suit in there?” Peter smirked a bit and nodded “I do” You looked at peter seriously. “Always prepared for the worse aren’t you?” “Hey hon” Your mom walked in and saw Peter and you standing pretty close together.

“Oh hi, Peter” Your mom smiled at Peter and gave you a knowing look as if asking if something happened. Causing you to get embarrassed and shake your head stepping back from Peter. “Nice to see you again Ms L/N.” Peter went up to your mom and they shared a short hug before your mom pulled away.

“Well dinner is ready.” Your mom left the room and you and Peter followed. All of you took seats at the dining room table. Dinner was going great and everything even with some very light small talk. That was until spider-man was brought up.

“He just seems so dangerous with everything crimes increased too, or that what the news says.” Your mom spoke and both you and Peter stiffened up. “I think most people would say he’s providing a public service.” Your mom looked at Peter and nodded. “I guess so, but I just don’t want my baby in danger.”

You frowned a bit, you loved your mom being protective but this seemed a little out of line. “Mom, I saw a video online and he seemed to really be helping people.” “A video online.” Your mom spoke in a slightly aggravated tone.

“I think he stands for protecting innocent people, like Y/N ma’am” Peter spoke and your mom stayed silent. “Peter, let's go. I think my mom needs some space.” Peter nodded and you both headed to your room and stood on the fire escape. Peter leaned over the edge of the fire escape. “I want to tell you something!” “Oh! Okay.” You stand up a little more straight and looked at him as he stands in front of you. “I’ve been bitten.”

You smiled a bit “So have I.” “I wanna talk about what your mom said.” You step away from him a bit. “Oh oh okay.” Peter notice you step back. “No, no wait I- I want to talk about me.” “What about you?” Peter started moving his hands around a lot from in front of his mouth than into the air. “I wish I could just- it's hard to say.” You smile and grab his hands. “Just say it.” “No I” Peter turned away from you. “Just say it.” Peter leaned over the fire escape again. “No, I” “What?”

Peter looked at you then shook his head no. You sigh and turn to go back inside. Peter saw you turn to crawl back into your room and shot a web at your waist pulling you back to him, you chuckled a bit. Peter put his hands on your cheek then neck lifting your head up and kissing you. You pull away with your forehead on his. “You-you-That's not fair.” “Shut up” He pulled you back into another kiss and you let out a surprised hum, and this kiss quickly turned into a make-out.

He brought you as close as possible, your hands reaching up and running through his messy curls. His hand in your hair tugged lightly and you let out a short whine at the feeling. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico was a dream come true! The resort was beautiful! Everything about it was perfect! Bria and Brad checked into their hotel before going up to their suite. They had help with their bags from the concierge. She tipped him a hundred dollars. Thank you. Even their suite was perfect! It came with a pool and a lot of privacy, something Brad was grateful for. During the two-and-a-half-hour plane ride, she told him everything going on in her life.

She found out she was the biological daughter of Richard Hilton. He got her interested in investing in his hotels. Rob went over everything with them. She agreed to invest fifteen percent. He thought that was a fair price. Her investment gave her and one guest the privilege to stay at any hotel for free. That was how she was able to get the suite.

Her cats were receiving three-on-one attention, along with the best cat care available while staying at a luxury pet hotel. It cost hundreds of dollars, but she wanted to make sure they were well cared for. The package included nail and hair care; a private room, filtered water, and time in a playroom for them to run around. It came with great reviews. They let her take a tour and ask questions before she agreed to board her cats there.

Tiny and Garfield were unsure about going into their carrier. Rascal saw it as an adventure. She put their favorite toys in to make it easier and less stressful. When they got to their room, they sniffed it out while walking around. There were toys and a cat tree for them to climb on! It also had a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooked the parking lot.

They could watch for birds and other animals. Rascal was excited about his new home. He climbed up the tree and looked down at everything. Haha. You can’t get me! Garfield looked up at him. He didn’t have the energy to chase him around. Instead, he tried out the water. It tasted delicious! Maybe this place wouldn’t be too bad. The humans seemed nice. Tiny yawned. She was ready for one of many cat naps. The room had three beds, so she took her pick before making it comfortable.

The staff watched them through the glass door to make sure they were okay. During playtime, Rascal ran around to get his energy out. Tiny and Garfield played with the staff. They gave them pets and attention. The staff knew it would take them a while to adjust to being somewhere other than home. They gave them space while allowing them to approach them as they felt comfortable.

Kevin knew what he was doing was wrong. At the same time, he had to see her again. He texted her asking to meet up, but he learned she was on vacation for two weeks. Could she text him when she got back? Yes. They continued texting each other. He wanted her to make him feel like a man. Take control of me. That’s what he wanted. She replied saying she would do whatever he wanted – aside from putting him in her mouth.

Brad remembered how wild she was. She had something that men wanted. It wasn’t just that she was beautiful, she was like a drug. He needed more and more of her. On the outside, she looked innocent. He took pictures of her in bed with only a sheet covering her with his camera.

She looked naturally beautiful. Should they make an adult video? Hell no! He laughed. Yeah, that would ruin his career. She got up and got dressed before going into the bathroom. The vacation was exactly what they needed to get rid of stress. They walked along the beach together, swam in their private pool, and ate at one of the restaurants.

She wanted to go shopping, so they planned to do that the next day after sleeping in. While lying on the bed, she told him of the possibility of her being infertile due to her chemotherapy treatments. She was going to remain on birth control until she knew for sure. Did she want kids? Yes and no. She was fifty-fifty about it. If she ended up not having kids, she would be okay with that. She felt she was too young at the moment because she needed to be selfish first.

He was thinking of adopting since he was sober. She thought that was a great idea for him. He was thrilled to hear that! What did his parents think? They wanted him to get married first. Of course. He laughed. She encouraged him to do what he wanted to do, not what they expected of him.

“That’s what I fell in love with. You always encouraged me. Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

He kissed her. Mike felt understood. He was in a therapy session where he was heard and taken seriously. His therapist encouraged him to be open and transparent. Everything he said was confidential. He discovered his fear of committing was from an ex-girlfriend he forgot about from high school. She had cheated on him. It crushed him initially but he thought he had gotten past it.

No, it was always in the back of his mind. He remembered the betrayal and how he had cried. His parents helped him through it without judgment, as did his friends. She begged him to take her back, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t even look at her without his heart breaking all over again. It was high school. He never kept in touch with her after graduation and after years, she slipped his mind. Or so he thought. He talked to Brad about it.

He remembered how broken he was for months after it happened. There was a possibility that it could affect him years later. He was proud of him for getting help and discovering what was going on with his mental health. Mike was proud of himself, too. He messaged Bria, but she was on vacation with Brad. Why was she with him?

“It was something about him wanting to get away from stress and her spoiling him.”

“Don’t think about it because then you’ll just become obsessed and it will just drag you down. Let her go and wait for her to reach out to you. I know she will because you’re her best friend. But for now, don’t think about her.”

He nodded. “I won’t. Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

After getting ready for bed, Bria got into bed with Brad. It was a cool night with the sun having gone down hours before. The blankets felt wonderful. He wrapped his arms around her before kissing her forehead. For the first time in a long time, he felt safe and it was because of her. He couldn’t keep her, so he wanted to hold onto her for as long as possible. Before they knew it, they were fast asleep.

Do you remember a time before smartphones and social media? Yes, I do. I feel like if I didn’t I wouldn’t be old enough for this survey.

Did you grow up watching Saturday morning cartoons? For sure. Garfield and Friends was my favorite one to watch Saturday mornings.
