It Looks Better on you

decided to write a little jetkie fic! this fanbase is tiny so i thought “fuck it” and decided to feed myself. please leave feedback/constructive criticism if you would like!

Rookie squinted at his computer screen. Was it always this bright? He couldn’t keep track of a single thought, they came and went as they pleased. He’d been sitting at his desk for far too long.

He stretched his arms up, arching his back out of his wheelie chair. He felt his back crack, relief flooding through him. He knew he slouched way too often with his binder on. I guess I should probably take a break, he thought absentmindedly, lifting up his sunglasses and rubbing at his eyes.

Pushing the chair back, Rookie hopped off and looked around. What to do… Gary was probably too invested in his tinkering to be bothered, Dot wasn’t scheduled to come in today, and Ace was… probably plotting something against Herbert.

His eyes landed on a clean workspace, not a thing out of place. A stack of papers was neatly tucked in the corner, and a large laptop display sat in the middle of the desk. Of course! Jet Pack Guy!

Rookie ambled the short distance between his and his coworker’s desk. It was only then that he took note of the absence of said coworker. He glanced around, wondering where Guy took off to. He reasoned it was likely a coffee break, as his usual mug was gone from the workspace. Rookie knew that he was still here though, because his blazer was hanging off the back of his chair.

Wait- his blazer?

Sure enough, the article of clothing that Guy almost never went anywhere without was draped right in front of Rookie’s eyes. It was odd, seeing it somewhere other than on Guy. Come to think of it, he didn’t think he’d ever seen him without it. He wondered what he would look like. Would his sleeves be rolled up? He hoped so, the dark skin of his arms would go well with the white of his shirt. The thought of that alone made his face heat up. I shouldn’t be thinking about my friend this way!

His body betrayed his mind, hands gingerly reaching out to grasp the black fabric. They lifted the jacket off of the chair and brought it closer to his face, eyes gleaming with wonder. The material was so smooth, surely it wouldn’t hurt to just try it on.

Before he knew it, Rookie’s arms went through the sleeves and he was now donning his best friend’s jacket. He felt giddy, subconsciously smiling at the fact that yes, this was real. He took note of just how small he was compared to Guy; he was practically swimming in his blazer. His fingers barely poked out of the sleeves. Taking advantage of this adrenaline high, he grabbed the lapels of the suit and brought them up to his nose, inhaling the scent. It even smells like him. God could strike him down at this very moment and he wouldn’t have a care in the world.

Unfortunately, his mind finally caught up with him and he dropped the lapels in shock, eyes widening. He really shouldn’t be doing thi-

“Rookie?”

Oh no.

He jolted, recognizing the voice of none other than the owner of the jacket. He kept his back turned, not wanting to face the humiliation of what he had done.

Jet Pack Guy spoke again, “Is that my jacket?”

Rookie winced, his shoulders hunching up. How on earth could he get out of this mess? “Hey JPG! Whoops, must’ve been sleepwalking again and conveniently slipped on your jacket!” He cringed at his inner dialogue. Not even he would fall for that.

Might as well just bite the bullet. He slowly turned around to face Guy, his face heating up as he did. Of course he was still wearing his sunglasses, so Rookie couldn’t see his expression. Is he mad? Upset? Disgusted? Oh god, he might not even want to be my friend anymore!

Panicking, Rookie launched himself into speech. “I am so sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking! I just walked up to your desk and thought ‘Oh, what a nice jacket’ but I didn’t mean to actually put it on, I swear! Oh god, I just realized I completely violated your privacy so I completely understand if you hate me or don’t want to be friends anymore or-”

He was interrupted by a firm hand on his shoulder. “Rook, hey, it’s okay. Just breathe.” Guy exaggerated breathing in and out, instructing him to do the same. Rookie followed along, albeit with some stuttering breaths. Once he determined his friend was okay, Guy reluctantly pulled his hand back from where it was on Rookie’s shoulder.

The shame of almost breaking down in front of his best friend made tears prick at the corners of his eyes, which were hastily rubbed away with the sleeve of the jacket-

He was still wearing the blazer.

“Damn it, I probably got your suit dirty. I’m really sorry about all this,” He looked anywhere but at Guy’s face, feeling his face flush once again.

“Really, don’t worry about it. I know you’re beating yourself up about this but it’s not a big deal to me. Thank you for apologizing, though.” He reassured him, the corner of his mouth tilting slightly upwards.

Cute, Rookie’s brain supplied, squashing the thought immediately afterwards.

“I guess I should probably give this back to you,” he gestured to the suit, smiling sheepishly.

He saw Guy’s eyebrows raise for a split second before interjecting, “Uh, it’s fine. You can keep it.” Now that he was closer, Rookie could see his eyes widen behind his shades. He quickly covered his mouth, as if he just realized what he said.

Rookie blinked a couple times in shock. There was no way he heard that right. “Wh- I- are you serious?” He looked up at his friend, a glimmer of hope sparking in his chest. Oh my god, is he blushing?

“I mean, uh, yeah, I have quite a few spares.” He replied, his hand going to rub the back of his neck.

Rookie’s mouth opened slightly, not believing what he was hearing. His shocked expression quickly turned into a large grin, and in not being able to contain his glee, let out an incomprehensible noise. His coworker let out a brief chuckle upon hearing it, eyes slightly crinkling.

“Thank you, thank you, thankyouthankyouthankyou!” He exclaimed, rushing forward to tackle Guy in a hug, but thankfully remembering boundaries at the last moment, stopped himself. He was about to back away, nervous laughter creeping up his throat, when Guy met him halfway and embraced him. Rookie fully relaxed in his hold, arms snaking around his waist. He was almost positive the whole agency could hear his heartbeat by now.

After what seemed like ages, yet at the same time one second, they parted, arms returning to their sides. Guy was holding a steady grin by now, and Rookie could not be happier to be the cause of it.

The tranquil moment came to an abrupt end when Rookie glanced at the digital clock on the wall. “Oh man, did I lose track of time! I gotta get back to work!” He quickly ran out of Guy’s workspace, glancing back just to see him looking at him fondly. His heart skipped a beat as he neared his desk, feeling giddy.

Rookie sat back down on his chair, hearing the usual squeak it gave under the strain. He spun around once for good measure, and resumed his report with renowned vigour.

If any agents passed by Jet Pack Guy’s desk to see him more upbeat than usual, or to see Rookie wearing a blazer that was far too large for him, they didn’t mention it.

Hinata: playing those free to play weird-ass games on y8.com when he’s not fighting over the computer with his sister

Kageyama: watching ‘top ten best sets in volleyball games with slow-motion’ again and again until his sister taught him how to use youtube

Tsukishima: writing long essays that he posts on facebook about how much twilight sucks and how much he hates it. definitely had a twilight phase

Yamaguchi: secretly writing twilight fanfiction and posting them on wattpad. he got pretty famous for them but he’ll never talk about it

Ennoshita: played Feeding Frenzy a lot. like, a Lot. this man was a literal god

Tanaka: MAKING PUNK/EMO EDITS OF HIS FAVORITE CELEBRITIES. his masterpiece was punk harry styles feat. 6 earrings and a neck tattoo

Nishinoya: watching american ninja warrior compilations but the ones with ‘eye of the tiger’ edited over them to make them extra awesome

Daichi: coming up with his own inspirational quotes that are kind of terrible like ‘even though i’ve been beaten down, i’ll always get back up’ and posting them on facebook thinking that he’ll inspire people somehow

Sugawara: watching ‘Hetalia Ep. 25 VIETSUB|SPN|ENG subtitles pt. 2/28′ on youtube. either that or ouran high school host club idk this guy had a phase

Asahi: taking a whole bunch of those ‘what your fashion says about you’ quizzes until he eventually made one himself as well as a polyvore account

Oikawa: reading and writing doctor who fanfiction before eventually getting into sherlock and supernatural. yes, he shipped destiel. yes, the destiel canon thing on november ruined him

Iwaizumi: he was really into looking up random animal videos like ‘tarantula vs. scorpion fight’ and stuff like monster bug wars from animal planet and when oikawa made fun of his search history he figured out how to delete it

Hanamaki: vibing to the Phineas and Ferb songs playlist that he made on youtube (of course the aglet song is his favorite one)

Matsukawa: a true tumblr child and was there when this hellsite was first birthed. he remembers the tumblr wars between the fandom and the hipster blogs all too well

Ushijima: didn’t know what the internet was until tendou realized he didn’t have a skype so he made an account for him. until now, ushijima’s status still says ‘hi, wakatoshi here’

Tendou: watching a whole bunch of minecraft song parodies on youtube before eventually making them himself

Semi: either learning guitar through youtube videos or looking up ‘how to play lucky by jason mraz EASY VERSION | NO BAR CHORDS’

Shirabu: he used only Google+ as his social media and wondered why he wasn’t getting any friends

Goshiki: this kid was blessed to be twelve years old when the lego movie came out so he most definitely just used the internet to listen to ‘everything is awesome’ again and again

Kuroo: definitely a fandom kid, one of those from the six major book fandoms (hp, pjo, hg). used to run a fricking roleplay group on tumblr and his oc’s always have a Dark Backstory

Kenma: youguysaregonnacomeformebut--- SONIC THE HEDGEHOG FANFICTION OKAY BYE

Yaku: playing Pet Society on facebook. is it such a coincidence to see him so decked out and rich now when his pet had the same lifestyle? nO

Lev: playing those papa louie games (papa’s pizzeria, papa’s burgeria, etc) and trying to force the game to crash by serving customers 500 chicken wings

Bokuto: as soon as he got a skype account, he’d pretty much voice call anyone and everyone he saw had an ‘active’ status on but his friends didn’t have the heart to switch their status to ‘inactive’

Akaashi: was the king of making ‘which ___ character would be into you (for girls and gays only!!!)’ quizzes that are very detailed. he’d even make a whole character profile with a ‘how you met them’ at the end

Atsumu: used to secretly watch episodes of ‘boys over flowers’ and ‘meteor garden’ on the computer when he was alone at home. eventually got into girl’s generation and super junior

Osamu: a master at playing poptropica and even had a whole gig making poptropica walkthroughs for other people. sometimes he’d play club penguin and get himself kicked out for swearing just for fun

Suna: looking up ‘demons by imagine dragons with lyrics’ on youtube and just playing it on loop. his desktop wallpaper says ‘don’t get too close, it’s dark inside’

Kita: didn’t know what the internet was until suna and aran took pity on him and helped him create a facebook account. until now, his profile pic is still a picture of his jersey number and he has 99+ unchecked notifications

Sakusa: his cousin introduced him to sims. except, sakusa doesn’t play ‘for fun’ but to vicariously live the average salaryman life through his virtual character (he named him steve)

2020 Fic Year in Review

I’m waiting for my Sims game to finish updating, so I thought I’d do this since I saw @kalee60‘s post about it :)

Total number of completed stories:

14 (15 if you include a short 1am-oneshot I orphaned haha)

Total number of words:

111,575 (and that’s not including stuff I scrapped/haven’t posted omg)

Marvel/Stucky but also Supernatural (on my main) just a tad because haven’t posted anything yet but I’m including it anyway haha

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?

Oh, absolutely! Heck, I never thought I’d write anything when it comes to fic because I’ve always kept quiet about my writing. (And I’ve been doing it since I was like 12 and it all started with my Club Penguin phase pffft) But my interest turned into an obsession rather quickly and I honestly can say, without a doubt, that @buckybees is the whole reason why I even got the courage to post my first fic! I’m so glad I did because writing fic has given me a new perspective on fandom in general. And it makes me appreciate fandom/fanon even more.

What’s your own favourite story of the year?

Pretty much all of them but Bucky's Got a Bun in the Oven? holds a special place in my heart. Not only was it my first published fic, but I never thought I’d write something like that. I go back and re-read it frequently since it’s so short.

No lie: Sometimes I look back at that fic and it makes me wanna write a series of short oneshots with Pregnant!Bucky. Like, just Domestic Steve/Bucky living in the modern day with a baby on the way. Bucky shopping for baby clothes, decorating the nursery, having snack parties with Natasha, taking care of the baby after the birth, those sort of things. Oh, I think I just talked myself into another idea. 😂

Did you take any writing risks this year?

Ehh, not really? However, I did write a series of crack oneshots lol. Some are crazier than others.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year?

Apple Pie Crumble Cake - This is my #1 goal. It’s a Bakery!AU Kid Fic that I’ve been planning for months. It’s gonna be multi-chaptered, and at least 50k. I have 10 chapters outlined and there are still more I need to get to, but probably won’t until I start writing the darn thing lol.

I wanna start posting some smut oneshots on my secondary pseud, I have some done but I don’t think those will ever see the light of day since they’re just for practice- most of them were thought of on the spot without any outlining. I’d like to keep anything (totally) nsfw separate from my default pseud, just to be organized lol. And yes, this asexual read/writes smut. 😏 (my personal rule is as long as it doesn’t involve me, I’m good!)

I thought long and hard on this in the past week or so, and originally I thought I’d join the Shrunkyclunks ‘21 Bang but the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to do it. It’d be my first bang, and while I have an idea, it’s just a little intimating to me lol. Soo, I’ll pass this year. Instead, I’m gonna look out for a Bingo whenever a new one starts up, since I’ll prob be more comfortable with that :)

(Does this short lil Beach!AU count even though it’ll be done in 2020 but will be posted next year?? lolol)

On my main, I’m writing a Supernatural + Spongebob crossover fic. Sort of like the episode, Scoobynatural. And I have a feeling that it’s gonna be turned into a series because I’m latched onto this idea- that started as a joke.

Most popular story of the year.

Are we talking hits or kudos?? Hits, Buchanan Medical. Kudos, The Case of Bucky’s Wisdom Teeth. Eitherway, I’m so happy those two made it as my most popular stories. Buchanan Med is close to me on a personal level, and Bucky’s wisdom teeth fic is something I’ve always wanted to read but never existed :3

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

I think @kalee60 explained it perfectly when it comes to fics ‘flopping’ (I see this a lot on r/fanfiction) People will see it, they might like it, or won’t like it. And that’s okay! Not everything is for everyone, neither are tropes/genres. I know myself, I’m not a fan of A/B/O and the same could go for someone else who likes my personal favorite genre, hurt/comfort. And sometimes it’s kinda like an age old Tumblr saying: A post that took time and effort can get little as 10 notes but a spur of the moment post can get thousands. (Okay so, I made that up on the spot pffft)

Most fun story to write.

Buchanan Medical, but Mercury In Retrograde was super fun since I added the whole ‘space puns/pickup lines’ aspect to it. They basically share the same AU, but they’re totally different and that’s why I love them.

Most unintentionally telling story:

The entire Buchanan Med series. I wanted to explore Steve having asthma in a modern universe (because I too suffer from it- my whole life) and I really, truly, bled a little bit of my personal experience with the disease into the series. Having Bucky there, taking care of/treating Steve? It felt really comforting to me. And hey, write those self comfort fics!!!

Biggest disappointment.

I hoped to finish the last oneshot of Buchanan Med this year but sadly, my motivation for it just tanked. I write hurt/comfort best when I’m in the right mood for it, and I’m still waiting for it to come back to me, whenever that may be XD.

Biggest surprise.

The amount of reception I’ve gotten overall, the people I’ve met, the friends I’ve made, and new fandom experiences I’ve gotten to experience myself! Seriously, never in a million years did I think I’ve ever call myself a fanfic writer. But here I am, and I couldn’t be happier <3

My Sims game finished updating on the fifth question but I kept on rambling because I love taking about my writing!!! It made me realize that wow, I really did do a lot this year when it comes to fanon- especially since it was my first time delving into the world that is fanfiction writing <3 I have many hobbies, video games being the longest one, but I think I’ve spent more time writing/reading than playing games this year. My teenager-self WOULD NEVER believe that! But as the legendary Reggie Fils-Aimesays once said, "If it’s not fun, why bother?”

I don't really "do" angst, so this one is just N/A.

Have you ever recieved hate on a fic?

Not that I'm aware of. But then again, I'm a firm believer in the mantra of "Don't Like; Don't Read" which I chant quite often so it seems to have rubbed off on quite a few readers.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do write smut. I don't often publish the very explicit stuff (I've some more explicit stuff on @reds-self-shipsafterdark for the self shipping end of things) but I do have some published.

Also there's some implied stuff floating about in my fics.

No, and I hope I never have.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but if anyone wants to translate a fic of mine, do let me know and I can help with implied meanings to make sure puns/names/etc. carry across properly.

No, but I'd love to team up with someone some day to write one if I could find the time and I could get along well enough with someone's line-of-thought to make sure it turned out as planned.

What's a WIP you want to finish but don't think you ever will?

Probably A Turnabout of Identity. It's been so long and it kind of fizzled out towards the end. I'll probably orphan it some of these days tbh.

What are your writing strengths?

Apparently I'm good at writing characters in-character and being able to capture their movements, lines of thought, etc. and carry it across.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I avoid it where possible, but when I do I make sure it's a reliable translation and that I avoid Poirot speak/Wapanese.

I.e. "Konnichiwa! I'm a person from Nippon. You can tell because I say something Nihongo every san seconds! It's so kawaii!"

Also I make sure to provide translations at some point as a footnote or whatever and I avoid anything that isn't the Latin alphabet because I know that sometimes random symbols can be inaccurate (e.g. kanji) or people can't read/interpret them.

What was the first fandom you've ever written for?

I believe it may well have been Club Penguin or Wizard101. All traces thereof would be considered long lost and long-since-deleted though.

What's your favourite fic you've ever written?

Probably my ongoing fic over on @reds-self-ships even if it isn't an AO3 fic specifically. The Adventure of the Detection Club is currently allowing me to poke fun at loads of famous crime novelists even if it isn't direct.

And for something AO3 specific, I'd say probably The Adventure of the Doctor's Deduction because it references an old Sherlock Holmes story and allows Sholmes and [REDACTED FOR TGAA 2 SPOILERS] to enjoy some development as well as just having a laugh in general.

1. Whats one thing about writing that you’re really good at?

Those slowburn angsty romances. Especially when I can write their first kiss, its my favorite thing to write and I really get into it

2. What’s one thing about writing that you’re trying to improve on?

My action scenes. I love writing fast paced action but I find I struggle with actually... Writing them well y’know? It never comes across how I want it to lol

3. Is there anything you’ve written that seems out of place compared to your other work? If so, what is it?

I mean, not necessarily. All my writing seems to have patterns to it and I tend to follow specific genres/aesthetics but I have only ever written one fanfiction before and that was my sherlock one on wattpad. That one is probably the most out of box thing I’ve written

4. What’s your preferred genre to write in?

Anything with strange elements. I lean more towards fantasy or sci fi and ping pong off those but I also love writing supernatural contemporary

5. Is there anything that all your work has in common? If so, what is it?

Strong female protagonists/lead characters lol, also that angsty romance I always love writing angsty romance

6. Do you prefer writing series or standalones?

Technically all my stories have been standalones since I’ve never gotten far enough to call it a series but I’m gonna say series cuz they’ve all been planned out in more than just one installment (for instance, my current WIP is shaping up to be a trilogy in my mind)

7. What was the first thing you ever wrote? Creatively speaking?

Does roleplay count? I roleplayed on club penguin when I was little LOL, but as far as my own stuff I remember having to write a story based on a photo we were given from a magazine in 6th grade

8. Have you ever written fanfiction?

Yes, my sherlock one was p popular but don’t look for it anymore cuz I deleted it lol. I also tried my hand at an AOT one but it didn’t get far. I would write dragon age fanfiction but I feel like I’m not versed enough in the lore of that world yet to do so

9. Who are your favorite authors?

OOOoooH hm, idk if I have a favorite author. I have books I like but I never really read more than one series or book from an author... I suppose Marissa Meyer? I read all her stuff but tbh haven’t been happy with her newest series so idk

10. What’s your goal as a writer?

Get published lol, it’s my dream to see my book on a shelf somewhere

11. What’s a random fact about your current WIP?

It’s the culmination of my years worth of failed WIP’s and ideas/plot bunnies I’ve had floating around in my head for 5+ years

Also no, that isn’t the one I was talking about. It was a Ben/Lucy thing, not a threesome thing. And jeez, that fic had a lot of spelling errors. I know it’s just porn, but take a little pride in your work for god’s sake. I mean, I didn’t read it. I mean, it was for research I swear. I mean, oh boy...

Guest: “Reading your responses is as engaging as a new chapter. Creating a fanbase is pretty crucial because it can end up being cancer sometimes but yours seem to be awesome, going beyond just Bwen and you deserve it all. Are your social circles aware of your little E-fame or are you too embarrassed to reveal it to em?”

Thank you! Yeah, I’ve been lucky so far with my small fanbase. I haven’t told anyone I’ve been writing this fanfiction, although I do have one friend who knows I ship Ben and Gwen.

Guest: “Lucy having feelings for Gwen is where I kinda can’t put my finger across. I know Gwen doesn’t know or think much about Lucy’s sexuality since her mind is now haunted by Ben and you even mentioned “she vaguely notices it” in one of those our responses. The issue for me here is, you’ve set up Lucy teasing Ben slowly blooming into becoming the real deal from the start, you took 30 chapters for Gwen to come to terms with her feelings and about 15-20 for them to become best friends in the first place. Lucy and Gwen’s friendship always had the sisterly vibe to it and if there was some sort of sexual tension between them then I could buy it but you did it brilliantly with Ben and Lucy and gave the Bency fandom more exposure which I was waiting forever for while simultaneously topping the game of the Bwen fanbase. The first romantic tease I could sense was when Lucy was lying on Gwen’s shoulder on the beach and she jokingly said something along the lines of “you know, with this sunset, this is actually kind of romantic” which lead Gwen to push her off leaving Lucy giggling in the ground and that gained a giggles from me too but those didn’t seem legitimate to me. I mean girls call each other “babe” all the time, compliment each other’s looks, kiss each other on the cheeks, they even grope breasts in anime often but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re into girls. Lucy being that Friend you can share certain things with and always count on even though they can annoy the hell out of you is what seemed liked the bond Lucy and Gwen had. Her now developing feelings for her out of the blue seems unconvincing”

I think the problem you’re having is you’re seeing Lucy’s teasing of Ben differenly than her teasing of Gwen, and you shouldn’t be. Yes, I know girls compliment each other’s looks and whatnot without necessarily being into girls. That’s why Gwen doesn’t really think anything of it and why I didn’t expect my readers to think anything of it either until I let them hear some of Lucy’s thoughts. But now we’ve already heard Lucy say that just because she’s messing with people doesn’t mean she isn’t also serious. If you can accept that her teasing Ben was her way of expressing her growing feelings for him while concealing how serious she was, why can’t you accept that she was doing the same to Gwen? When you think of it that way, it doesn’t seem so out of the blue. I was hoping for it to be somewhat of a surprise, especially since I didn’t think her liking Ben would be surprising to anyone, but I guess I didn’t do that great a job of it.

Gwen and Lucy definitely have that sisterly, “you can tell me anything,” best friend type of relationship right now, and Lucy finds that very important. She’s actually quite afraid of losing that, which is one of the reasons she’s still keeping her feelings a secret. But just because she cares for her one way doesn’t mean she can’t also care for her another way.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your criticism. I can’t exactly go back and sprinkle in more hints for it now, but I hope my explanation will at least help a little.

Guest: “It’s intriguing that Gwen is self concisious about her butt considering a certain episode known as “Forge of Creation” in Ultimate Alien. They run into ten 10 year old Ben through a timeloop or something and as you can tell, 10 years old can be hard to handle. Even 15 Ben acknowledges it and asks “did I used to be this obnoxious?” to which Gwen’s “you have no idea”. At one point, he tries to annoy Gwen by pointing out her butt is huge and the context of the way he said it was an insult although I’d take that as a compliment. Cartoon Network would censor the shit out of it if was aired now”

Hahaha, yeah, I’m familiar with that scene. It was a minor inspiration for Gwen having a complex about that.

Guest: “Since they’re supposed to be 14 now and that means on the transition of puberty, you said we should imagine Ben talking with his Yuri lowethal’s voice then does that mean we gotta imagine Gwen having longer hair, a pony tail? Might sound a little pervy with the way I put it but with a more mature body and most importantly, should we imagine her voice associated with Ashley Johnson instead of Meagan Smith? Meagan Smith was a classic but Ashley did great voice work as Gwen in AF and the sequels, she’s still smart but she’s more calm and composed instead of can’t helping herself from getting aggressive because Ben know exactly how to spruk her nerves and Meagan Smith portrayed that perfectly”

Gwen’s hair is a little bit longer now, but not as long as it was in the sequel series and she still keeps it in the same style, not in a ponytail. Her body has matured more by now, and so has Ben’s. And you should be imagining her with her Ashley Johnson voice, which I pointed out by Lucy saying she sounds just like Ellie from The Last of Us. I still love Meagan Smith’s voice and I think it’s perfect for preteen Gwen, but I think Ashley Johnson’s voice is great as well and it fits better for teenage Gwen.

Guest: “Speaking of voice actor, Troy Baker is the real MVP right up there with Nolan North with voicing Joel and them both giving life to the Drake brothers in Uncharted. I mean, hell, his young Joker voice in Arkham Origins and in Asassult of Arkham (The animated suicide squad movie, still better than the live action one) is the closest resemblance I could see to Mark Hamill’s iconic established voice.”

Oh absolutely, those two are real pros. Although my favorite male voice actor is still probably Dee Bradley Baker. His range is incredible and I got to meet him at Blizzcon a few years ago. He’s a really great guy.

Guest: “Everytime Gwen puked or gagged which she normally would when she saw Ben mockingly but this time because she’s in love with him, all I could think about was the ROBLOX death sound. Yeah please pull a bullet in my mouth. OOF”
