favourite gallavich scene?

This is so hard cause I LOVE 99% of gallavich scenes but the coming out scene wins.

For a few reasons, one being cause the first time I watched the show, I was watching this scene on repeat. Like first impressions it really suck out to me

I love how this scene kinda introduces us to how ians bipolar is going to affect not only himself but the people around him. I really think Ian never would have asked mickey to come out then if he wasn't in an episode. We get to see how, even during a manic episode, one of ians main goals is to help mickey. (He wants to help mickey be "free" and not scared to be himself) Ian has a lot of love for mickey and this kinda reckless push really highlights that even if it's not a very smart thing to do. And kinda unfair on mickey.

And i love that mickey agrees. Mickey overcomes all the years of fear and chooses Ian. You watch mickey go from being angry that Ian can't understand his situation to accepting that Ian means more to him. Mickey is just so in love that it makes me crazy. And again, it's a similar kinda intro to mickey doing stupid crazy shit for Ian.

I'm a sucker for big displays of love.

And listen, if they were a young married couple back then, it is VEEERY likely Francis was called to war :((( so he had to leave Nacha behind for a while (probably knew she was expecting a baby at the time, probably not, whatever).

That would be another explanation as to why his eyes look like that, and speaks with very few words. He probably came back very different to how he used to be, eventually causing them to divorce, but that doesn't mean he won't care at all about Nacha and Ann, it's just he's not mentally capable of doing more for them.

I got the whole Snowdin movement bunch (all except for NMM!Clover back walk because my weakness for insignificant details has cursed me to have to try and learn some coding in order to make it exist in game should it ever get to that point)

Honestly the toughest part was getting the colors, a lot of these I just ripped straight from vanilla Clover

THANKFULLY I do not need to do this for the Dunes Caves or Steamworks as those seem to be a filter (which is actually what the Flowey Fight Clover is but shhhhhhhhhhh) that gets put on Clover and Martlet/Ceroba respectively (they do not appear on the massive Clover Chart so that's why I think they are filters) Don't know why it's just Snowdin that gets special sprites, maybe because then they'd have to put a filter everywhere in Snowdin which might get crowded and messed up in those rooms with shade? Idk, I wasn't on the dev team

Don't you just hate it when you notice some details you messed up when it's too late? On the side runs, some of Clover's freckles disappear for a few frames. Thankfully it's on the run animations, which are too fast for it to be a noticeable inconsistency (did you know that when Clover's head faces towards the screen for those two frames in their run animation, that you can actually see their other eye?

It's actually really hard to notice since both the eyes and outline are dark colors and also it's for only two frames while moving. It seems I'm not the only one who's a sucker for tiny and very likely insignificant details. The more you know. Also I brought this up as a whole "See? It won't be noticed. Probably." thing)

what are dew and clay’s relationships with VOS once it’s active? VOS gives me vibes that she wouldn’t like them very much but who knows

Dew saw VOS' success as his own and fixated on it quite a bit. Kept telling them how it - and Dew herself, by extension - is going to be the one to solve the big problem once and for all. How it's the perfect project, how they didn't need anyone else, how Dew's name would go down in history, forever recorded as The One Who Did It, saved this world and all its creatures from the painful cycle. You can probably see where VOS got that god complex from… Despite the constant praise, it was quite obvious (to others, at least) she didn't treat VOS as a separate being with his own thoughts and emotions - he was just a monument to Dew's own vanity. At first, she visited the puppet chamber very often, basking in the glory of his creation. As time went on and it became clear the solution won't be found this way, he visited less and less often, unable to face his failure.

VOS would never admit to themself how much they actually disliked Dew. It knew he was the reason why its structure, albeit "beautiful", was an unstable mess; why the puppet's design was so ridiculously excessive it made it difficult to move around without breaking something. The pressure to perform perfectly. At the same time, Dew kept on saying how incredible VOS was, how they're going to make everything happy, and it loved the praise. Her self-worth quickly became dependant on what Dew said; he convinced himself he couldn't hate someone so good to him, really, it's just not right. Dew's gradually decreasing interest in the project was.. a pretty intense time for VOS.

Clay didn't interact with VOS quite as much. The living proof of her inability to oppose Dew's selfish ideas, whom she almost pitied for the existence they condemned it to. She lived in their city, sure, so it wasn't possible to avoid. But talking to him face to face felt different somehow. Whenever they spoke, she tried to keep it as brief and "professional" as possible.

VOS was also aware of Clay's involvement (or lack thereof) in its structural shortcomings. Clay didn't sing the praises of them on her own - VOS told itself she just couldn't appreciate its greatness. The urge to keep their interactions as short as possible was mutual.
