😭😭 joining the bandwagon w a quick like 10 min drabble 🫶 rare sighting of Ashi writing??

TWST BUT W OUR OCS AS THE CHARAS (except I got a little off track and made it an otome); @oheyfox @ceruleancattail <- joined bandwagon cuz of these two

Ace wasn’t really one for “otome” games or whatever.

But due to recent trends and recent boredom, he found himself downloading the game one night. Seemed like the usual “Wow, so many cute characters! Such distinct personalities! I’ve gotta fall for one of them!”, which bored him to death, but as he progressed through the game’s main story, one of the characters surprisingly caught his eye.

A cute, spunky dark haired, latte-skinned girl. Always laughing and cheering, supporting the fellow characters surrounding her. A smile never left her face, and she had a certain charm about her.

Yet, a day came where Ace and his friends did a tier list.

Where’d he put her?

Yeah, straight to F tier.

She wasn’t anything special— The joke of the cast, standard slang talking girl. A 2D and flat personality, with nothing much to be interested in. This “Ashi” character was the simple happy-go-lucky cliche, and that sure wasn’t Ace’s type. If anything, he found her annoying.

But he was up again one night and decided to do her route for fun. It’d be funny to bash her character with his friends later, wouldn’t it? She can’t get any worse, the redhead thought as he began to read through her story.

...Yet, that’s not what happened.

Through every bit of dialogue his crimson eyes read, Ace found himself getting more and more invested in her character. There was a reason why she was so 2D. It’s on purpose. Ashi’s a character who’s buried herself so deep into this flat “role”— like in a movie— a simple cliche, but underneath all of that insecurity, there was a 3D part of her.

A girl who fought back with a pout when you’d click that certain dialogue choice, a girl who’d end up with a flaming red face if you tapped at her avatar enough, a girl who Ace could actually be interested in. She was more than what meets the eye...

Oh, how he yearned to be able to reach through the screen and hug her.

Maybe she wasn’t as annoying as he thought.
