Next Gen Girls

Victoire

The big sister of the group

Always there to lend an ear and is the first to defend her girls when the need arises

Tries really hard not to let her cousins see her cracks (she's a lot like her dad in that way)

She teaches her little cousins (Lucy, Roxanne, and Lily) some French when they're around eight

They all end up on the floor laughing with tears in their eyes because the girls can't roll their r's well and it makes for some interesting pronunciations

She never misses a family dinner at her Grandma Molly's house

If she is not there, something is wrong

Has broken up a physical fight between her cousins before and will do it again

She is close with all the girls and doesn't really have one in particular who she's closer to

She always carves out time to talk to each of the girls and bond with them

No one dislikes Vic

They might hate her bluntness or have disagreements with her, but she does not keep receipts and all her cousins appreciate that about her

Dominique

Can you say wild child?

She's the reason Bill and Fleur have grey hairs for sure

She's two years younger than Vic and they are like night and day

Dom is the life of the party and also the family's budtender though most of the parents are unaware of this

She's very chill and loves hanging out with her cousins and gossiping

This has gotten her into trouble before

Once Rose walked in on Dom talking about her latest hook up and Rose ended up not speaking to her for over two months

She is really close with Molly

These girls are twin flames, both wild to the core

They go backpacking across Europe together after they graduate Hogwarts

Dom decides to get a tattoo while she's high and it ends up getting infected

Molly takes her to a Muggle doctor and the girls end up giggling over how cute he is

Molly

Molly is the same age as Dom, but she was born first

She is supper smart but never flashes it around

Organizes monthly girl's nights for all her cousins

Not all of them end up coming and that's ok, but they know the door is always open if they want to

If they do end up coming, she makes a bunch of 'junk food' like chips and chocolate chip cookies from scratch

She takes after her grandmother when it comes to cooking and the other girls love her for it

If Dom is the budtender, Molly is the bartender

She used to work at a bar and can do all sorts of fancy tricks when pouring shots or making drinks

One night when the girls are all together, she makes a mixed drink for each of her cousins and one for her sister and names them after each of them

Rose

The definition of the cool one

She's always off on some adventure or taking some cool vacation

She is six years younger than Vic, but they're still very close

She goes to Vic whenever she needs advice on anything from love to life to her career

The younger girls adore her and think she's the best thing since baked bread

She caught them doing weed (which they stole from Dom) once at the Burrow in the twins' old room and didn't tell the adults

Instead she grabbed them water, helped them add a little concealer so they didn't look so high, and reminded them that getting high with their parents downstairs was definitely not the best idea

Then she winked and was gone

Everyone is always shocked that Ron and Hermione produced such a chill kid

She's Healer so anytime that one of the girls end up with the slightest headache they call Rose

She pretends to be annoyed but she really loves it

Lucy

She's the quiet one

Not in the shy way but in the if you interrupt me again, I'll cut your head off way

A total bookworm

And swears like a sailor

She's the most reclusive of the Wotter girls

She's the one who comes to their sleepovers the least, even though her sister hosts them

It's not that she doesn't like them or the girls, she just values her peace and quiet

She's is six years younger than her sister and eight years younger than Vic

If any of the girls were going to pull up to a fight, they're bringing Lucy

She is tiny but mighty

Roxanne

Loudest of all the girls and definitely the most likely to accidently break something

She's the same age as Lucy, but Luce was born first

She loves the chaos that is the Burrow when all of her family members are there

Is probably the easiest of the girls to talk to and the most outgoing

Like this girl's mouth does not stop moving for a second

Are we surprised that she's really funny?

No, no one is surprised by that

She is closest with Lily, but Vic is like an older sister to her

She and Lily hang out a lot at school and once they graduate, they move in together

They definitely spend those first few years partying way too much and getting high way too often

But they grow and mature together and they're closer because of it

Lily

If you took all of Harry's bad traits and all of Ginny's bad traits and mixed them in a pot, you'd get Lily Lu

She is sarcastic and always has a comeback ready

She can also be a brat and Ginny blames Harry for that

She is the last grandchild born, three months younger than Roxanne

She has green eyes not brown, and yes, this is a hill I will die on

Loves her cousins, but can find them overbearing at times, especially Vic

When she's feeling overwhelmed, she goes to hang out with Lucy

They both appreciate the quiet and downtime

She sites the fact that she and Roxanne both have annoying older brothers as the reason they're so close

Also a wild child, but in a much more self-destructive way than Molly or Dom are

She blows through boys like they're candy, and it's especially concerning to her cousins

She's loyal though and no one is going to say a word about her family without answering to her

You can think Becky (aka @harryissuchalittleshit) for these headcanons because she asked me for them! You should send all the love her way because she is awesome!

I love the angst angle of Teddy not having really any family and that he's pulled into the Wotter clan because of Remus and Tonks but I think my absolute favorite headcanon is that, uh, he abso-fucking-lutely has living relatives.

Aside from Andromeda, Lyall, Draco, Narcissa, Scorpius and Delphini I mean.

I mean Hope Howell definitely had family. I bet the Howell family is still alive in Wales. Lyall was estranged from them because Hope passed away and he was overprotective of Remus, but when Teddy came along he bit the barrel and reached out to them, because goddammit this boy has family and he deserves to know them.

Teddy has family on Hope's side, muggles living in Wales. The Howell family were fishermen for generations, and they still are. Some of them are at least.

Teddy has cousins and aunts and uncles and they're all Muggles but they definitely know about magic and they fucking adore Teddy.

my headcanons for the next gen kids and their houses (+ ocs) going by age, partly because i need a list to keep track of it and partly because this sounded fun to make. i might link to the headcanon/intro/whatever pages i make for characters as i make them.

teddy lupin-black* - he/him (?), hufflepuff, age 23. plays chaser in quidditch and was a prefect & head boy at school.

victoire weasley - she/her, ravenclaw, age 21. plays seeker and was prefect & head girl at school.

roxanne weasley - she/her, gryffindor, age 17. plays beater & is gryffindor team captain as well as head girl. she was a prefect.

fred weasley ii - he/him, gryffindor, age 17. plays chaser.

james sirius potter - he/they, gryffindor, age 17. plays chaser & is a prefect.

dominique weasley - she/her, ravenclaw, age 16.

albus rubeus potter** - he/they, slytherin, age 15. plays seeker.

*my personal headcanon for teddy is that his biological mum is still tonks, but his dad was an unknown muggle who is thought to have died during the war. remus and sirius both survive and adopt teddy after tonks dies.

**i changed albus’s middle name from severus to rubeus because i feel like it just makes more sense. (i chose rubeus, not remus, because remus is already teddy’s middle name).

***this post is following a (mostly) canon compliant au where hugo is 3 years younger than rose, but in the main fic i’m plotting, hugo is actually only a year younger than her and may also be in a different house (most likely ravenclaw)

non-wotter kids

scorpius malfoy - he/him, ravenclaw, age 15. a prefect. scorpius is albus’s boyfriend and is lorcan and lysander’s second cousin.*

henry thomas-finnigan - he/him, ravenclaw, age 14. beater and eventual head boy, but not a prefect. the eldest of dean and seamus’s two kids, and the eventual boyfriend of lucy. rn he’s just friends with lucy, rose, and lily.

lysander longbottom** - they/them, slytherin, age 14. has played beater and chaser. lysander is the more energetic of the twins, and they eventually start dating louis. is a seer like luna.

lorcan longbottom** - he/they, ravenclaw, age 14. seeker. probably would’ve been prefect their 5th year but louis and rose were instead. he’s the more responsible of the longbottom twins. is a seer like luna.

luella thomas-finnigan - she/her, gryffindor, age 11. eventual beater and gryffindor team captain. luella is dean and seamus’s youngest kid and henry’s little sister. she’s friends with hugo, katie, and ivan scamander.

ivan scamander*** - he/they, hufflepuff, age 11. eventual prefect & head boy. ivan is childhood friends with luella as they grew up in the same magical neighborhood. he’s friends with her, katie, and hugo and might end up dating hugo someday.

*i kept a headcanon from my main fic in this post: xenophilius lovegood is lucius malfoy’s disowned brother, making luna and draco first cousins. this therefore means scorpius is lorcan and lysander’s second cousin.

**in canon, luna ends up with rolf scamander, but i ship nuna so i decided to have the twins be hers and neville’s instead, which is why their last name is longbottom and not scamander.

***since neville ends up with hannah abbott in canon, in this fic i switched it so neville ends up with luna and rolf and hannah end up together, and made ivan up as the child of rolf and hannah.

zayne mandel - he/him, hufflepuff, age 17. plays keeper and is hufflepuff’s team captain. head boy while roxanne is head girl, despite not being a prefect. he is known for being a strict but good captain (and head boy) and is dating ravenclaw’s captain, aisley.

aubrey banet - she/her, slytherin, age 14. beater. aubrey is friends with scorpius, albus, danna, and ciera, and friendly with louis, lorcan, and lysander. she and ciera are best friends.

ciera poinsette - she/her, hufflepuff, age 14. beater. ciera is friends with albus, scorpius, aubrey, and ciera, and she (like aubrey) is also friendly with louis, lorcan, and lysander. she and aubrey are best friends.

Albus’ Sorting

(This is the first time I’ve ever wrote something so any tips would be great)

As the first years entered the great hall James was scanning the heads of every student trying to find his brother. He felt guilty for teasing him about going into Slytherin, he didn’t really care what house he got sorted into (although Gryffindor was obviously his first choice). He only realised how much it affected Albus when they were on the platform and James was too awkward to apologise. He continued to look at the crowd and finally spotted him near the back with Rose. He looked terrified.

Albus’ heart was practically beating out of his chest. Rose was trying to comfort him but he couldn’t hear her, everything was muffled and he felt like he could hardly breathe. He knew James was joking when he said he was getting sorted into Slytherin but what if? What if he gets sorted into Slytherin and everyone hates him. No, that wouldn’t happen surely, Molly and Dom were already in Slytherin. But they made sense, they’re confident and cool and don’t care what other people think. Albus was going through his speech in his head about not being in Slytherin when all of a sudden Rose nudged him. Shit.

McGonagall repeated “Albus Potter”. The students erupted into chatter when they heard the name and stared intensely as Al walked up to the stool and took his seat, just as they did when James was about to be sorted. To them it was exciting to see a Potter get sorted. To James and Albus and later on, Lily, it was the most nerve wracking moment of their lives. The hat had been debating for just over a minute when suddenly it announced “SLYTHERIN”.

Albus thought he was about to pass out. Or throw up. Or cry. Or all the above. The speech he had gone over a thousand times in his head didn’t work. Was the hat not meant to take your choice into consideration? That’s what his dad said to him. This was his nightmare and to top it all off everyone was staring at him.

Stunned silence filled the room, James could have heard a pin drop, Albus was frozen in place and was white as a ghost. It wasn’t Slytherin that stunned the Wotter cousins, there were already 2 who had been sorted into that house, it was the fact that Albus, the most gentle, timid, easy going person had been sorted into it. Most expected Gryffindor with him being a Potter, some thought it could be Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, but, never Slytherin. As Albus stood up, legs visibly shaking, James also stood up. Everyone was looking between them, the majority of students knowing how proud James was of being a Gryffindor, holding their breath. Suddenly James erupted into applause, the biggest smile on his face and soon all the other cousins followed suit. Albus visibly relaxed and followed Molly (the first cousin to be sorted into Slytherin), who had walked up to the front of the hall to retrieve him in the end. Albus sat down and the boy to his right introduced himself, “hi, I’m Scorpius, don’t worry, I was really scared too…”

The Potter-Weasley Next Generation is so interesting to me because i feel like there's no way these children are normal. Their parents are traumatized from the war and the media is probably hounding them daily. Here are my headcanons (for some characters):

Victoire Gabrielle Weasley

oldest sister syndrome to the extreme

victoire grew up taking care of her siblings and to lesser extend her cousins

her and teddy started having an on-and-off thing when she was 15, and officially started dating when she was 17

they broke up for the first time when she was 19, after that she moved to new york

i headcanon her to be a writer

her and teddy reconcile when she's 22 and start dating again

they get married when she's 27

also, teddy is a musician ( like wizarding world harry styles) and after they broke up she listened to TTDP all the time

unlabeled queen

has super mega long hair

Rosaline Amelia Weasley

certified drama queen

she doesn't have a good relationship with her parents at all

i hc that ron and hermione get divorced around the time she's 14 and that kinda just breaks her

after the divorce rose has a 'party girl era' that the media LOVED

after a while she calms down but between making headlines for being drunk and high at parties while her mother is trying to deal with the PR disaster of a divorce and just being a general little shit her relationship with her parents is ruin

i do think her and ron become closer after she has her first child

her and scorpius get married really young, like 18

albus and her a best best friends

bisexual

her bi awakening was james's 1st wife

Jameson Sirius Black

quidditch is his first love

got married young, 17 ( he and rose were the only ones that got married before 25)

he and his 1st wife, Jules, had their first child the summer they finished school

they divorce when james is 21, and they had another daughter in that time

got signed in the puddlemore united when he was 17

James has a surprisingly great relationship with his parents

really close with lily

everyone and their mother had a crush on him and he hated it

after his divorce, there would be a headline every week saying he's dating a different girl

The Wotter cousins loved Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, they always got a discount when they visited.

However, James Sirius had discovered something on the Marauder's Map. There was a secret entry to the shop.

So, he once went through the entrance and surprised George.

"Hi, uncle," James said.

"Hi, James," George said and then stopped, "James! What are you doing here?"

James explained that he found a secret passageway on the Marauder's Map. George was shocked. How did him and Fred never discover this?

From then on, this was a little secret between him and James.

“Oh, hush. No, you’re not crazy, Lilykins.” She teased, an amused smile crossing her brims.

“I mean, apart from the natural dosage of crazy that comes with being born in the Wotter clan. You’re doing fine, trust me.” Rose wrapped an arm round her cousin-sister’s shoulder, pulling her into a half embrace.

“You know, sometimes, I think I’m mad.” She confessed in a hushed tone. She could be overthinking little details for hours, or lose sleep about something that may be not of importance, or reflect an embarrassing event from a year ago that would drive her crazy. So, perhaps, she was a little crazy, too, although she was working on her perfectionism.

All of them have anxiety and depression

Teddy- ADHD, nickel silver penicillin allergies, ‘wolf periods’ (side effects of being part werewolf)

Victoire- just Anxiety and depression

Molly- Type one Diabetes,

Dominique- ADHD, Dyslexia, heart murmur

James Sirius- ADHD, Dyslexia

Rose- ADHD, and Auditory Processing (Sensory) Disorder

Albus- ADHD, Dyslexia,

Freddie- ADHD and Dyslexia

Roxanne- ADHD, Dylexia and became a cane user after an accident before her seventh year

Lucy- Autism (goes semi/non verbal when she gets overwhelmed), low muscle tone, Auditory Processing (Sensory) Disorder, GERD, asthma, her vomiting issues

Louis- Heart murmur and toxic masculinity (I know that’s not a mental illness but he does have it)

Hugo-ADHD and Dylexia

Lily Luna- ADHD

Do a lot of them have ADHD and/or Dyslexia because I have it? Yes. Do you grow out of low muscle tone? Since I had it as a little kid and wonder if I still do

random hp next generation headcanons

Wotter cousins and Scamander twins camp together every summer. Of course, James is the one who always tries to lead them, claiming to have scouting experience.

James Sirius and Ginny often bicker but same time, Ginny is usually the first parent James goes to talk about his problems.

Albus and Rose are best friends forever. (#fight #me)

Baby Rose's first word was "Al."

Hugo is a Ravenclaw and Hugo's personality is an amazing mix of Hermione, Ron and Luna. (Yeah, Luna.) Also, I'd like to talk about Hugo's experiments, but they are highly hidden.

Albus is always the Weasleys' negotiator. I'm sure it has something to do with being the middle child.

Rose looks the most like her uncle Bill out of her family.

Lorcan is the most carefree and cheeky person the universe has ever seen. And, he has an feather headdress that he rarely takes off his head.

Lysander is a ball of anxiety. While Lorcan amuses everyone, his carelessness makes Lysander worse. Albus' composure and Rose's indulgence are what calm and inspire him.

When it comes to fantastic beasts, Lysander is good in the theory and Lorcan is good in the practice.

Scorpius' favorite class is Astronomy. A telescope was one of the best gifts he ever received.

Scorpius has a hobby of photography, which he acquired through Astoria. Also, he can draw some sketches.

Roxanne has a successfull Quidditch career.

Louis, Hugo, Lily and Lucy are founders of the Hogwarts Origami Club. I can also imagine the same group being otaku.

The only "O" that is Rose takes in her OWLs is The Care of Magical Creatures.

Grandma Molly taught Scorpius to knit.

Scorpius has a brother who is 18 years younger than him. He's jealous of him, even though he tries not to show it.

Lucy was a drug addict.

Molly has a mythology-obsessed biker muggle boyfriend whom she met at the rehab center she visited for Lucy.

James is a Leonardo Dicaprio fan.

He’s very smart, clever, and cunning, even at a young age

He knows exactly how to get what he wants when he wants it, mostly through his endless supply of charms

He takes more after Astoria than Draco, he’s more nurturing and positive than Draco

The only thing he’s never been able to get is a younger sibling

But then he starts to spend more time with his younger cousin Lyla Zabini and she becomes the younger sibling he always wanted

Mira Parkinson and her twin brother Jacob Goyle are the same age as him, but they aren’t very close despite their parents being his father’s closest friends

He has quite a few friends before going to Hogwarts, but most of them are either older or younger than him

He walks into the compartment that Al and Rose are sitting in, and decides that he’s not going to make the same mistakes his father made

He and Al become fast friends, Al keeps Scorpius grounded and Scorpius keeps Al out of his head

Scorpius realizes he has a crush on Rose second year, but he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship

He and Rose start dating the summer before their fifth year and never stray from each other

Scorpius decides that he wants to become an Auror that year, while studying for his OWLs

Rose is his voice of reason, and Scorpius is everyone else’s voice of reason

He gets his first Weasley sweater when he’s seventeen and he’s so happy that he hugs Molly in front of everyone

He’s been considered an honorary Wotter ever since he and Rose started dating, but an honorary Potter since the first time Al brought him home

He doesn’t have the best relationship with any of his grandparents, so being folded into the Wotter family means a lot to him

He and Rose and Al all mov in together after graduation while the boys are in their training

The next summer Rose and Scorpius move into a tiny one bedroom flat together

PARENTAL DEATH TW. first thing’s first - since this is a lil canon divergent there comes the question: are remus and tonks alive? yes and no. nymphadora tonks is still alive and well, even still working as an auror and living their best life (unless someone takes tonks up and changes it, get spicy if you want). remus on the other hand is not. after a life filled with adversity and trials, but very much love, remus john lupin passed away at the age of 43 - shockingly early for a wizard, though werewolf life expectancy was a lot shorter back then. teddy was only 5 years old. he doesn’t remember a lot about his father. he remembers his scratchy old sweaters, his jackets with elbow patches on them, and his scarred up face that didn’t seem so scary whenever he smiled widely at him. everything else that teddy knows about remus is from family and friends and his mother, who like to tell him everything he wants to know. it’s almost like he knew him for more than a handful of years.

DEATH TW. yes, harry was teddy’s godfather - and considering remus didn’t make it for long, he was kind of like a father figure to him. but teddy wasn’t exactly raised by harry. tonks was still around, so he had a parent, but he also had his grandmother andromeda and grandfather ted (after whom he’s named) to help with raising him. and he was basically adopted into the “wotter” fold, so he has more relatives and parental figures than a boy could ask for. but outside of his immediate family, he was rather close to his godfather harry - and hasn’t really coped with the fact that he’s gone. feeling a brotherly love for the potter children, teddy chose to be brave in the face of loss in order to be a reliable shoulder for them to lean on, someone strong for them. deep down he’s utterly broken up about it, and is probably going to break down eventually. that’s two dads he’s lost in his short life. someone give him juice and a hug.

before this most recent tragedy, teddy was a pretty chipper guy. he’d always been an optimist and a happy go lucky kid. his youth was spent running around the burrow with his extended family/friends and on adventures with his mum. tonks wanted him to be a happy kid, especially after remus was gone, and so the two spent a lot of time just going around and having fun. they’re thick as thieves, and when it had come time to go to hogwarts the only qualms he had was in leaving his mother. he had been attached to her hip, but he found himself comfortable in due time. following in tonks’s footsteps he ended up a hufflepuff, though he could have been a gryffindor. he could be boisterous and rowdy when he wanted to be, but above all else he was a kind and just boy, caring and loyal to a fault. he’s always been a wee bit of a nurturer, though that may have to do with being raised around the large wotter clan, of which he is eldest so he took a lot of pride in watching after the little ones. but that responsibility didn’t keep him from being a fun and mischief loving boy.

as soon as he left hogwarts, he entered into the auror training program with hopes to work beside his mother. he actually graduated from that and would have continued that path but eventually he found himself more interested in the hit wizard division and took up a post there. he’s been working as a hit wizard since, going on some pretty wild missions to track down dark wizards. he loves the job, even with its risks and hazards, and deep down he hopes that his father would be proud of his line of work.

per the expectation of many, teddy dated his childhood and family friend victoire weasley. as far as first romances/young love goes, it was pretty great. they’d known each other their whole lives, which meant that there wasn’t as much awkwardness or discomfort in being himself around her, none of that “getting to know you” stage. they already knew each other, what was there to be embarrassed about? the pair had dated a decent amount of time... that was until the decision for victoire’s healing training came up. when talk of training in france came along, teddy was faced with a somewhat difficult decision: support her growth even if it meant going far away for a bit or try and convince her to stay. he’s never been a selfish guy, so the answer had come pretty quickly. and france wasn’t that far - not when apparition and portkeys were a thing. surely they could make it work... except they didn’t. communication was not their speciality it turned out, so when teddy eagerly encouraged her to go train abroad their relationship crumbled. to this day he doesn’t really understand why. outwardly he acts pretty cool and indifferent, almost as if it doesn’t phase him, and enough time has passed where he’s basically accepted it as over, but deep down he questions what the hell happened there and what things would have been like now if he hadn’t been so passive about his desire to make it work out. he tries not to dwell on that, though - things happen and he kinda goes with the flow when they do.

when it comes to conflict and war, there was really only one side for teddy to take. of course he went with the order - what else was he going to do? his parents were in the order. his family was in the order. when it came down to it, he knew that he had to join their ranks and fight for their cause. it wasn’t even a question, and he doesn’t regret the choice to take up arms. as a hitwizard it’s his job to apprehend dark wizards and stop them from harming the community, so he was pretty much already doing as much. he won’t hesitate to do what’s expected and to fight. this is the kind of thing his father fought for, and that his godfather would stand up and fight for. teddy feels that, per their memory, it’s his duty to do so - especially as more of his friends and family join the fight as well. he feels a deep obligation to be there to protect them and fight beside them. the last thing he wants is to lose anyone else, and he would willingly throw himself in front of them if it meant saving their lives. and if it came down to it, he’s ready to put his life on the line for the entire cause. anything to see a better tomorrow.

lilies which is a clear representation of lily luna potter, whom he considers to be like a sibling. the lilies wilt and bloom with the seasons. he definitely has tattoos for each of the wotters which he has adopted as siblings/cousins, i’m just too damn lazy to come up with them / idk they’re probably in places not visible in this drawing afheiahpfiea

a lightning bolt which is new, it shimmers and shines and represents the man who was like a father for him. a snitch to represent his quidditch days. the snitch flies along his arm.

a wolf which roams his arm and howls whenever its the full moon. there is a hand which is always giving a peace sign, but when teddy is angry a neon yellow outline reveals a hand flashing the middle finger.
