Summary:
"Can you remind my brother that we were supposed to get lunch?” Maddie asks.
“Uh sure,” Eddie says slowly, confused. “But why don’t you just call him yourself?”
“I did, a couple times, but he didn’t answer. I assumed he was still with you?”
Eddie thinks back to last night, to Buck specifically making plans to go back to his own place so he wouldn’t be late for lunch with Maddie. Buck had texted him when he got home, just a simple night :) that still made Eddie’s heart flutter, so obviously Buck had made it back to the loft… But there haven’t been any texts from Buck all morning. Not that that is necessarily unheard of, but especially over the last few weeks it’s become rarer and rarer for even a few hours to go by without Eddie’s phone dinging with a message notification from Buck.
A small tendril of worry curls around Eddie’s ribs.
BTHB: locked up & left behind
My notes: Incredible Whump! Had me on the edge of my seat. Also loved seeing Maddie and Eddie team up!

may be an unpopular opinion, but I hope buck and eddie don't hook up next episode. don't get me wrong i still want buddie endgame, but not so quickly. ep 4 threw them off-kilter, and as close as they were in ep 5, there was still a wall between them for most of the episode. i need to see them be best friends again, real, honest, best friends before i can contemplate them as anything else.
also, as much as i love buddie, not everything should be about them. buck's sexuality arc is about buck, not buddie. he doesn't like tommy, because he's misplacing his feelings for eddie, he likes tommy because he's bi and he likes boys (and tommy's really hot). and the madney wedding, should be about MADNEY. we haven't really gotten any scenes of them together this season, they deserve to have a wedding that's about them

I just had a fever dream and I'm trying to write it down before I forget:
Shannon was back but she was a ghost that only Buck could see and for some reason Buck was also Maddie and Shannon was telling him/her about how they had to be there for Christopher and help out Eddie with raising him but she was trying to push them together romantically and saying that Buck and Eddie being together would be just the same if not better for both parties because they already spend all their time together and it makes the most sense. She also brought up the will and Buck who again was Maddie for some reason tried to argue that it wouldn't be the same because it's two guys not a guy and girl and there would be some differences both in how they date and intimacy wise and s/he keeps going back and forth with Shannon about whether it's the same or not. I have no idea how we got to this point but then Shannon brought up the Ring Around The Rosie song and Buck who was Maddie said "Pocket full of posies" but s/he pronounced it as "paw-zees" and Shannon tried to correct him/her with the proper annunciation and Maddie who was Buck tilted her/his head and said "Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was the same. Are you saying it's different?" And Shannon glared at him/her but before she could say anything else I woke up to someone calling me...
Don't ask. I don't know either

Feelin Good (Could be Better) Chapter Four
Hello, just realized I never posted this over here. I posted chapter four of ten of my first ever chapter fic!! (completely written just posting as my irls beta it)
You can read the first, second, and third, and fourth chapter of my fic over on AO3 right here
This chapter, Buck has dinner with Chimney, Maddie, and his parents. (He gets a little drunk)
Summary
The Buckley parents come to town, turning Buck's already shaky mental status from precarious to worse. Despite avoiding a dreaded dinner at all costs, Buck consents to join Maddie, Chimney, and his parents for dinner. Buck is super fine thanks for asking, he'll just bake about it. And think about kissing Eddie, obviously. Secrets are revealed, leaving the 118 reeling.
snippet
“It's just that you were quiet on shift the rest of the day after Maddie stopped by, and you haven’t shown your face in the work group chat since. I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re spinning out a bit.” Buck laughs a little numbly. He occasionally forgot how perceptive Chimney could be. He was good at burying it under his goofball exterior. “What I’m trying to say is that if you need me to cover for you tonight, I can.” “I’ll be fine, Chim. It's just been… a really long time since I’ve seen my parents.” “You’ve never talked about them much,” Chimney considers. “When was the last time you saw them?” “When I dropped out of college, so maybe… when I was 19? We’ve had no contact since.” “Does Maddie know?” Chimney asks in concern. “Of course not. You know how she is… I just don’t want to worry her. She’s got enough to worry about. I don't want to be a burden. I’ll be fine tonight, Chim. Cross my heart.” Buck lies. “I can admit I’m being a little stubborn. I just need to get through dinner. It’ll be fine. Besides, it’ll be better for you if there’s a buffer.” Chimney procures a small bottle of rum from his jacket, offering it to Buck. “I figured this might work as a little liquid courage.” He grins when he spots the look of disbelief. “Listen, if I understand anything, it's complicated family dynamics.”

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: 9-1-1 (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Evan "Buck" Buckley/Eddie Diaz (9-1-1 TV) Characters: Evan "Buck" Buckley, Eddie Diaz (9-1-1 TV), Maddie Buckley, Howie "Chimney" Han, Bobby Nash, Henrietta "Hen" Wilson Additional Tags: Depressed Evan "Buck" Buckley, Worried Eddie Diaz, Eddie Diaz Takes Care of Evan "Buck" Buckley, Depression, buck has depression, buck spirals a bit, Eddie is there for him, buck gets back into therapy, buck's feelings about maddie leaving, buck trying to pull away, eddie won't let him, Love Confessions, First Kiss, Getting Together, supportive firefam, Supportive Bobby Nash, Supportive Eddie Diaz, could be considered a holiday fic?, Christmas is mentioned, Angst, but it gets better Summary:
It starts when he breaks up with Taylor. Or maybe it starts when Maddie leaves again, when Chim tells him over and over again that he's done with him. Maybe it even starts when Eddie was shot, when Buck's entire world crumbles in front of him for the thousandth time and he can't do anything except sit back and watch.
Buck can't take everyone leaving him again, can't take being alone anymore. So this time, he leaves first.
Or he tries to. Eddie doesn't let him. When Buck pulls away, Eddie follows him. And Buck finally lets himself break.
Notes: If you’re ever in the mood for some character angst, like I sometimes am, this is a good one to read. This is Buck centric, and it deals with his mental health in a way I sometimes would like the show to do, but alas. Rest assured, there is NO Chimney or Maddie or 118 bashing in this. I would never recommend something like that. This is from Buck’s POV, so it means it leans more on his side of things, but I didn’t think the author was unfair to anyone. As well as the angst, there is forgiveness. So, it’s got a nice hopeful aspect to it too. (I also love how Eddie and Buck getting together doesn’t just magically cure Buck’s depression. I love me some accurate and not over romanticized depictions of mental health issues)

Summary
He inches slightly as he braces himself on the edge of the roof. He’s ready. More ready, maybe, than he’s ever been. The soles of his shoes are pressed flush to the wall of the building and his hands grip the course edge of the building. He looks down at the city commotion, then up at the Big Dipper constellation (the first one he could ever identify as a kid). He feels his heart finally slow down to an acceptably calm rhythm. He closes his eyes. He doesn’t feel anything anymore. He doesn’t hear anything.
He doesn’t hear the door the roof open, nor does he hear the blood-curdling scream behind him.
Or;
Buck has never felt so alone in his entire life. The noise and the hatred and pain is loud and he wants it to stop. So he decides to make it.
My notes: Please read the trigger warnings before reading!
I found this so beautifully written. I've often tried reading stories like this but I've never found one that was as good as this one. Realistic writing, had me on the verge of tears. If you're in need for some angst and these topics won't trigger you, I definitely recommend this one!

Whenever I’m driving on the highway and I get closer to a truck my intrusive thoughts suddenly have Maddie Buckley’s voice and she just yells “HIT THE TRUCK!” and then I remember I’m not living in a tv show and carefully pass it.
