psh: comforts as usual. he tried calling, texting, all that sort, he just lays onto your shared bed, sinking in the mattress hoping you’d be home by the following minutes, he’d listen to your guys’ playlist to past time, suddenly hearing a knock at the door he sparks up sharp and gets out of bed “where have you been.. I missed you” his sleepy eyes say a lot, he just holds you tight rubbing your back softly, though he doesn’t question you much as you both were lead back into your bedroom to doze off.

lsh: he definitely overthinks— he’s wondering around the house hoping you’d pick up the call as he mumbles to himself, praying your safe, he leaves the door of the apartment unlocked but still can’t doze of to sleep not until he sees you’re right in-front of him and fine. As you open the door he immediately rushes out “are you okay?? Where have you been?!” He hugs you tightly not wanting to let go “I’m fine riri,,” he’s still a little worried but at ease, not wanting to bother you with questions you both go to bed, he’s just glad you’re okay.

mjh: very worried at first and it just slowly starts changing into being upset, just like riwoo, he will overthink it, thinking you might be in danger or so,, you try sneaking by using your keys but fail as the doors were locked, you rang the door bell and jaehyun didn’t take even 1 second to rush and answer “it’s so late..” he takes you inside “where were you, it’s nearly 3am” he visibly looks upset “I’m sorry jae,, I’m too tired to talk can we sleep?,,” you yawn hugging into his arms as he carry’s he to the bedroom, still upset but happy you’re safe with him.

hdm: as his impatient self, sitting on the couch, his foot taping every second that passes, taesan is NOT the patient kind, it annoyed him that you wasn’t showing up, taking matters into his own hands he gets up and out of the apartment now trying to look for you around your streets, as he spots you around the corner walking slowly looking tired as if you was leaping over your own steps, he slowly rushes to where you are “it’s freezing at this time” taking his jacket off to put over you, you look up at him “sorry taesan, I stayed behind on shift and —yawns— I’m really,, tired..” taesan puts his arm around you whilst you go back into the apartment ready to cuddle and sleep.

kdh: overprotective asl, he is MAD that you aren’t picking up any calls, he stands and waits right against the door as you knock and he opens the door you’re greeted with a harsh overprotective sounding “where were you. Why haven’t you looked at your phone and answered my calls.” , “baby my phon—“ he interrupted now closer to you “do you not understand how fucking worried I was??” You just look away and try going to your bedroom but he holds you still “you know I just care for you..” he looks at you sharply, you sigh “ I’m sorry leehan but can we please go to bed, am tired..” nodding as he follows you behind to go get some rest too.

kwh: cannot stay up late even though it was a life or death situation- he waits infront of the door, phone in his hand hoping his messages go through but slowly and surely his eyes close up on him, opening the apartment door as you step in you’re greeted with couch-sleeping woonhak, his phone right next to him on your contact, not wanting to wake him up you kiss his cheek and get him a blanket as you go pass out onto the bed and get sone rest.

SUNGHO: THE PERSONAL GUARD

maybe a bit dramatic, but you realized you loved Sungho after he saved your life

you had been ambushed by a group of bandits on your travels to another kingdom

and Sungho had fought all of them off single handedly, assuring your safety above everything else

you had always brushed off the butterflies or warm feeling in your chest when you were around him

he was your personal guard, it wasn’t proper for you to have any feelings for him

but you couldn’t ignore it this time

when you got back to safety, the request to kiss him slipped out

and before you could apologise or backtrack for the outrageous request coming from a princess, he was already fulfilling it

the feeling of his lips on yours felt so right, even though you knew it shouldn’t

you both swore that it had just been a mistake afterwards

but the taste of his lips never left your mind, and it took everything in you to not ask for more the next few weeks

every time you looked at him, it was as if he was testing you

he held such a sparkle in his eyes and his lips always looked so inviting

but no, it was improper for you to pursue anything with him

the only reason he was even by your side 24/7 was to protect you

but eventually, your excuses fell apart

you couldn’t stay away from him, and he couldn’t resist you, especially when you asked him to kiss you

it went on for weeks until Sungho had to ask what he really was to you

and, by then, you couldn’t possibly deny that you loved him more than anything

you fought to be able to have a relationship with him despite how unconventional it was

but given how dutifully Sungho had served as a guard, your father finally yielded

he knew that no matter what, Sungho would keep you safe and loved

RIWOO: THE DUKE

the first time you realized you loved Riwoo was after a dance at a ball

you had been well-acquainted with him for years before the two of you starting pursuing a closer relationship

he would always be in attendance at balls or other royal gatherings

and he was your favourite dance partner

whenever you danced with him, all your worries seemed to fade away

he guided you with grace and ease; he was by far the prettiest dancer

practically miles above the other men in attendance, especially since they had a tendency to step on your feet or dress

it was in the middle of one extravagant ball

you were both in white attire by chance, and anyone at the ball could see that you two fit just perfectly together

after the main dance was over (in which Riwoo danced with you in the centre of the room, catching the attention of everyone), he lead you to the balcony

he told you he had always admired you and held feelings for you for years now

you had gotten countless love confessions, but Riwoo’s was different

he was so shy and endearing; quite the opposite of the confident demeanour he had always worn around you

his eyes held sincerity and his cheeks flushed the prettiest pink colour

hearing him confess only made you realize that he had always held a special spot in your heart

you had also held fond feelings for him for many years

of course you accepted his offer of courtship

and gifted him a kiss on the cheek as well

you only danced with him the entire rest of the night

and when you received other offers from other gentleman, you felt giddy being able to say that you had already promised the next dance to the duke

you got engaged to him months later, and the entire kingdom approved of the match

JAEHYUN: THE JESTER

you fell in love with Jaehyun because he was the only person who could make you laugh

he was hired to entertain you as a jester

and while you loved to hear him sing and watch him dance or do tricks, you loved his smile the most

he was always smiling whenever he was around you, and he looked so pretty

you had always been pretty lonely and bored cooped up in the palace, but Jaehyun fixed both of those problems

he always made sure you were entertained and laughing whenever he was in your company

he just felt like your person

you could tell him anything and everything and he never told you that you were silly or improper for liking something like other people did

he was the one person that made you truly happy, so of course, those feelings soon developed into the biggest crush

he got the hint that something was up when your usual touches lasted for a little longer than normal

he was the first to ask about it, fully expecting you to shut down his thought (or hope, rather) that you might have feelings for him

the thought was just ridiculous that you could have fallen for him

he was like an excited puppy when you told him that you really did love him like he thought

he had never hugged you tighter

dating him in secret was thrilling

it was a secret just between the two of you

everyone else in the palace thought that your relationship was the same as it always had been; a jester serving his princess

but the glances you gave him in the corridors and at dinners said otherwise

he was still eager to complete your every request

it was his job, after all

except, what was once requests for him to sing or dance for you soon turned into hugs or kisses

but even if he wanted to refuse (which was the last thing he could ever think of), he couldn’t

it was his princess’s orders

he had no choice but to fulfil them to the best of his ability

TAESAN: THE RUNAWAY PRINCE

you had always been obsessed with fairytales, so it was almost a given that you fell in love with Taesan soon after you met him

he was the definition of a fairytale

he first appeared outside your window one night

you were scared that he would be seen by the castle guards, so you told him to climb up into your bedroom

turns out, he was a runaway prince from a neighbouring kingdom; one that had been missing for months

you had to keep his identity secret as there were search parties for him, so you disguised him as a palace gardener

it was easy to get him a uniform, and there were lots of places to hide amongst the vast bushes and tall hedges of the grounds

you only meant to help him out at first, never for you to actually get attached to the boy

but he was so lovable it was impossible not to

he had all the charm a prince should have, but his stories were so much more enchanting

he knew next to nothing about plants or gardening, but he was so eager to learn about it

he was just excited to have even a sliver of freedom

you knew that you liked him after the first couple of weeks

when your heart started to race whenever he would climb up from your window after being out in the garden the whole day, you knew that he wasn’t just some strange prince from another kingdom you were helping out of kindness

you told him you liked him, scared that he would find it weird

but he just laughed

of course he liked you back, though

you had helped him when no one else did— he had fallen in love the very first day

you kept your relationship a secret until you could announce your marriage to him and reveal him as the lost prince

LEEHAN: THE PRINCE'S FRIEND

you had loved Leehan ever since you were a child

he was your older brother’s best friend and always came to the palace to play with him

he had always been just a family friend that you liked to spend time with, but you had secretly garnered a crush on him since you were around 12

he was nice to you and always treated you gently compared to your brother

and he loved to dance with you at balls

but travels took him away for some time and you didn’t see him for a few years

when he came back, he had matured into his features a little more and his duties as nobility

he held himself with more confidence and you were almost scared he had changed too much

but the second he had time alone with you again, you realized he was the same gentle Leehan that he always was

he caught up with you as if he had never left

it was like coming home

he told you about his travels like you were the only one he wanted to tell

you were in awe at the way his eyes brightened when he talked about the aquatic life he had seen

he started visiting the palace more and more often now that he was back in the kingdom

except instead of going for your brother, he was going for you

you realized a little late that he liked you, and that was why he kept visiting

he was a bit embarrassed when you asked him about it

the boy thought that he had been subtle with it

as if his eyes didn’t light up and his heart didn’t race at just the sight of you

once he knew that you loved him as well, he got a little more confident

his flirtatious side started to show, and he would secretly send you flowers and gifts

it took one of the palace staff catching you both kissing for him to actually propose, though

WOONHAK: THE STABLE BOY

you loved anyone who shared the same love of animals that you had; which is exactly why you fell in love with Woonhak

he didn’t come from a wealthy background

he was just a simple stable boy in charge of taking care of the horses

you had always spent most of your time by the stables, so the news of a new stable boy intrigued you

you were quite pleased when you met Woonhak

you could tell that the horses loved him

he groomed them thoroughly and made sure they were all well fed and happy

he took them out for rides and took special care of the little ones

he was scared to talk to you, so you always had to be the one to initiate conversations with him

he opened up a bit more when you brought up horses

he had random facts about them and little things he had picked up about their personalities even though he had only been working for a month

he just had a way with animals that was both adorable and attractive

you got butterflies every time you talked to him

they only grew when he started giving you flowers

you were sure it was just him trying to be nice, but it made you fall so hard for him

when you told him that you loved him, he was absolutely shocked

he just didn’t understand how a princess could fall for a simple stable boy like him

but your insistence and reassurance eventually lead to him reciprocating the feelings

he was happy to be able to call you his, of course, but he was also so careful

he refused to even stand close to you unless he was sure that you were completely alone

you took those chances when you were alone to kiss him, of course

it was uncertain whether you would ever be able to marry him or even reveal your relationship, but you stayed hopeful

all you needed to know was that you loved him and he loved you back

you and taesan feed the ducks that are walking around

looking at the scenery around you and talking

you guys point out little animals that remind you of each other

there's a farmer’s market nearby so you both go

taking your time and stopping when something catches your eye

taesan sticks close to your side, keeping you out of harms way and minimizing the people you bump into

he buys a little something for y'all to snack on

you guys return to the park with fruits from the market

you share them as you lazily swing

(taesan let's you eat the majority)

he plays music on the speaker he brought

you guys play on the swings, the slide, and the spinners

when the fun has to end, he walks you home

he lends you his headphones to show you more music on the way home

at your door, you give him a quick peck on the cheek before putting his headphones on his head and hugging him super tight

he blushes and melts into the hug

(it’ll have him daydreaming the whole way home)

Leehan 이한

a cute picnic date

you know the fruit bowl with gummies and cider?

y'all do that but there's a Lot of gummies

(leehan eats them all)

feeding each other the leftover gummies !!!

the sandwiches are so yummy because leehan made them

after finishing up lunch, i can definitely see him taking you to a nearby river to cool down

you guys lay by the riverbank and watch the fish swim by

he teaches you different kinds of fish that swim by

you splash each other playfully

you guys go up a hill to watch the sunset and enjoy the breeze

you stare at each other for a little because you both think that the other is the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen

i think leehan would definitely tuck your hair behind your ear and smile softly at you

you vent to him while braiding his hair

he listens carefully before giving you advice

you both watch the rest of the sunset and talk about how pretty the colors are (but he thinks you’re prettier)

you exchange a gentle kiss before packing up and walking to your house

when you arrive, he lets you take the rest of the leftovers

he squeezes you tightly and plants a kiss in your hair before going home

if it's after school, y'all do homework together

you help each other out and sometimes share answers

if it's on the weekend, then you play basketball together

you do not mimic his shots accurately at ALL

but even if you aren't the best player, it's okay

hak just appreciates you being there with him

he loves that you’re taking the time to learn what he enjoys doing

once y'all get tired, it's off to the convenience store to get food

so many snacks on top of your favorite ramen

playfully arguing about who pays

you guys share the food, occasionally feeding each other a chip

then you go back to his house to study for the upcoming exam

when he’s done, he starts working on music

he has you sing some things for him to sample

when you guys finish up, he walks you home

when you get to your house, he makes sure to greet your parents

hugs both you and your parents before going back to his house

you never meant it to escalate into a proper fight

really, you had never fought with your boyfriend before— not even once

Woonhak was tired and you were on your period, cramping badly and grumpy

all these factors made it so that it didn’t take much to push your buttons when he came home and unfortunately, he did it in the first few minutes

you just wanted to cuddle him as soon as he came through the door

you definitely didn’t want to start fighting over something as stupid as his work schedule

yet you found yourself rambling angrily about how he was always busy and that he didn’t care about anything but his work

he was busy, and you understood that

being an idol was demanding, and you couldn’t possibly expect to get much of his time

especially with preparations for the year end shows, boynextdoor had been busier than ever

but you had really, really missed him

and when he didn’t immediately give you his attention when he came back home, it was like the last straw

you had woken up with a sore neck, gotten your period, had to deal with bad cramps all day, had a stressful school presentation, bombed a test, got yelled at by your teacher, cried on the way home, failed at making the food you wanted, ended up microwaving a tasteless frozen meal instead, and waited for your boyfriend to show up for 2 hours

of course, Woonhak didn’t know any of it

he had been at dance practice all day and his body and mind was tired at this point

when you suddenly brought up how he was never there for you, he was shocked

the fight only escalated, with you bringing up petty insignificant things that Woonhak did that annoyed you but you always brushed off because you loved him

Woonhak responded how anyone would while upset and tired, and decided to be petty back

it was unnecessarily stressful for both of you, and you hated every second of it

your boyfriend could take most of your hurtful words

he knew you didn’t mean half of the things you said, and he clenched his jaw to keep from spitting words back that he also didn’t mean

but there was something you said that made his eyes widen

“you’re not my favourite teddy bear anymore”

you shouted it in the heat of the moment, tears streaming down your face, and ran upstairs to your room

Woonhak stood in the middle of the kitchen, stunned for minutes

this was something he was scared you actually meant

Woonhak had always been your teddy bear— your favourite cute little soft warm teddy bear

from when he started dating you, he had quickly replaced your childhood teddy as your favourite thing to cuddle with

you even called him my teddy bear— and whenever you did, he melted completely, broken down into a puddle of a lovesick mess

he didn’t like you saying that he wasn’t your favourite anymore

he hated it

his chest tightened up and he could feel the tears that he had worked so hard to hold back begin to build up

he had never really fought with you like this before

there were always little fights, given your and his immaturity

you were still only 17 after all, you couldn’t expect both of you to be the most mature when handling arguments

but it was usually something that he never had to worry about before because arguments never happened

he paced around in the kitchen for a few seconds, sniffling back his tears, running a stressed hand through his hair

he didn’t know what to do

he didn’t know what you wanted either

would you be mad if he tried to reconcile with you? did you want him to come to you or to give you space? why were you so mad at him in the first place?

he frowned, thinking back on the argument like a lost child— he hated feeling unwanted, and right now he felt like you neither needed him nor wanted anything to do with him

it took a while for him to work up the courage to go upstairs to where you were

he found you on your bed, hugging a stuffed teddy tightly to your chest while listening to some music

there were balled up tissues scattered near the trashcan from when you had thrown them and missed the bin, and Woonhak frowned at the sight

you didn’t notice him standing at the doorway until he awkwardly cleared his throat and you looked up

you already had some time to cool off from the heat of the argument, and when you saw your poor boyfriend standing in the doorway, pouting sadly and looking so so small, you broke

your lip trembled and you silently opened up your arms for him, feeling absolutely horrible about everything— you shouldn’t have taken your frustration about the day out on him

he hugged you so so tightly, burying his face in the crook of your neck, some tears slipping down to soak into your t-shirt

he just wouldn’t let you go which made you frown even more

how could you have shouted at this precious boy?

you stroked his hair and back and whispered apologies into his ear

“I didn’t mean what I said”

“I just had a rough day, I’m sorry”

“I love you so much, I’m sorry baby”

this seemed to only make him cry harder and hug you even closer, squeezing you so tightly but it was exactly what you needed

“am I still your favourite teddy bear? please say yes? please?”

he asked you, truly scared that you had really meant that part

“of course you’re my favourite teddy bear. you’re always my favourite. nothing could replace you, baby bear.”

you kissed his face and wiped his tears and kissed him some more

seeing him sad and seeing him cry and knowing that it was because of you was infinitely worse than the bad day you had had

Woonhak always came first for you— he was impossible to replace

and you made sure he knew that, repeating the ‘I love you’s’ and praises to him without stopping

he returned your kisses and apologies with his own, and eventually got comfortable laying on top of you; his head nestled underneath your chin, arms wrapped around your waist
