#ffxiv #this reminded me I have an au ra wol and she is based on an OC who I gave scales #I could somehow never visualise exactly how they'd work #I don't think Auri scales are the exact answer as she's more amphibious than lizardy #(mermaid newt lady :3) #but it's definitely been a big help just in letting my imagination take wild swings with it #rather than trying to imagine ~conventionally attractive~ little splatters of scales like freckles at the corners of her eyes or whatever #you know like sexy low budget sci fi scaled women often end up like :P #it's such a process allowing your brain to be weird when you're actually quite a normcore person and want to sit at the weird kid table #the weird kids have been good to me I should be allowed to be one and then I'm like here's my OC she's so weird #and then I see everyone else's OCs and I've drawn Jane From Next Door #hahahaha

Honestly from Saix's perspective Days is the tale of a project manager on the ChatGPT development team trying with increasing frustration to convince his boyfriend that the AI he keeps blowing Saix off to chat with really is just a fucking robot that's really good at the thing it was designed to do, which is copy real people.

He was wrong of course because it's Kingdom Hearts but like in the year 2023 you can kinda see his point a little.

Near the end of Second Foundation (1953), the First Speaker off-handedly mentions that something is “a consequence of Leffert’s Theorem.” 

George Lefferts was another sci-fi writer, at the time, most famous for adapting stories to radio for the series Dimension X (1950-1951), which featured stories by Isaac Asimov. 

I did not know that they were friends & I can’t find anything online suggesting they were friends, but -- there was literally no reason to mention “Leffert’s Theorem” otherwise; it was just some technobabble. THEY WERE FRENNNNS!!! 

#btw George Lefferts is the Dimension X writer whose name always stuck out to me #because EVERY EPISODE where the female characters were actually well-written and not cringe 1950s stereotypes #was written by George Lefferts #apparently in the 1960s he created an emmy-winning Women's Lib series so my impression of him from his sci-fi work was correct lol #MAYBE HE HELPED ASIMOV WRITE BETTER FEMALE CHARACTERS???? #bc honestly I noticed a marked improvement over the course of the Foundation trilogy #the first book had literally zero (0) women #GEORGE DID U HELP HIM? I feel like people particularly in fandom have this idea that once a person reaches like over 25 they’re supposed to lose all their interests and only have the set pre approved Adult Interests™️ like paying taxes and having kids and drinking wine and the only reason an adult would like anything is to find some kind of sexual gratification in it because all adults are sex crazed perverts so even the most innocent fanart or fanfic is deemed sus and inappropriate and idk that sounds like a terrible way to think of getting older

#like as a younger teenager I was kind of scared of losing interest in the things I love #and back then I didn’t even have this attitude from fandoms to influence that #it was more so adults telling me the things I liked were childish and I’d grow out of them someday and they were all just a phase #well I’m not over 25 yet but I don’t see that happening #I still love anime I started watching at 15 and I still love cartoons aimed at children #but now I don’t have a bedtime and nobody can ground me #and I go to work and I pay my bills and my taxes #but I also have some money left over to buy cool posters or keychains or figures #so it’s pretty great tbh #I don’t think people should have to interact with adults if that makes them uncomfortable #everybody is allowed to draw their own boundaries just like plenty of adults choose not to interact with minors #but an adult existing in a fandom space is not a red flag bestie they built the fandom spaces to begin with #an age is not a red flag a person’s behavior is #I see this kind of sentiment aimed primarily at adult women #but men who collect figurines or legos or like sci fi or super hero’s too much #are also often deemed immature and ‘man children’ #the idea of ditching the things you love because you’re older sounds sad and terrifying #I love all my stuffed animals and I love my all might figure and I love my posters in my anime corner #I don’t want to lose them just cuz I reach an age where that’s for some reason unacceptable
