(Wolfstar Meet-Cute with Fancy Guest Sirius and Waiter Remus!)
Read Part Two here
1697 words
When the best thing about a party is the waiter, it's either a very lame party, or a very appealing waiter. Or, as in this case, both.
There's Bound To Be Talk Tomorrow
Baby, it's Cold Outside - Frank Loesser
Sirius has to resist the urge to just lay his head down on the table and groan when Rabastan walks away for a moment to chat to the prime minister. The main course hasn't even been served yet and the evening already feels much, much too long.
“He's an asshole.”
Sirius looks up to see his table’s waiter having sat down on the chair next to him. Calloused hands, scars peeking out from under the collar of his shirt, floppy hair and a somewhat challenging look in his amber-coloured eyes.
Around them, people are milling about, dressed to the nines, seeing and being seen, exchanging polite conversation with existing connections and trying to make new connections, at the annual Christmas benefit gala dinner for high society's rich and powerful. Sirius can already see curious, and some scandalized, looks being thrown in their direction for an employee sitting down at one of the tables and talking to one of the guests. The waiter must also notice, but he doesn't seem to care, or even might enjoy causing a little controversy.
Sirius is intrigued.
He has been exchanging looks with the waiter all evening, it's actually the only thing that has made the evening bearable so far.
“I know things are unequally distributed,” Rabastan said. “Of course I have achieved everything by working very hard, but sometimes I think it's just so unfair that I'm also highly intelligent, well-spoken, and a naturally gifted businessman. I feel bad for those who don't have my skills and talent, but giving money to the poor will not solve anything. They will just squander it.” He shook his head. “No, I believe I'll help most by leading by example and giving advice based on my own successes.”
“Mmm,” Sirius hummed. “I don't think ‘let your dad make you CEO of his company’ is very useful advice to many.”
Sirius heard someone snort, and when he looked up, he saw the waiter quickly covering his mouth with his hand. They exchanged an amused look.
“Why would I have to pay for other people's health care?” Rabastan asked loudly, wine almost splashing out of his glass. “I take good care of myself! I spend precious time working with a personal trainer, I only let my personal chef prepare healthy meals, and I only eat at restaurants serving the finest organic foods.”
One of the women at their table looked at Rabastan with admiration.
Rabastan sat back in his chair, smirking. “If other people want to stuff themselves with fast food, it's their problem if they get sick. I'm not going to pay the prize.”
The waiter glanced at Sirius in a ‘is this guy for real?’ kind of way, and Sirius had just shrugged helplessly.
Rabastan lifted his glass. “I'd like to propose a toast! But not to myself, no. The excellent year I had, all my personal achievements, all my impressive financial gains, it all means nothing in light of the good cause for which we are gathered here tonight; the orphaned children.”
“Orphaned children,” Sirius repeated with a raised eyebrow. “You do know tonight is to raise money for children fighting cancer?”
Rabastan gave him an annoyed look. “Of course,” he said pointedly. “That's what I meant. When you give so much to so many charities all the time, you sometimes lose track.” He placed a hand over his heart. “I'm just such a giving person. It's my biggest flaw.”
Sirius almost automatically searched the waiter's gaze, and when their gazes met, they rolled their eyes at the same time.
Yet, Sirius hadn't expected the waiter to be so bold as to sit down in the vacant chair next to him the moment Rabastan’s back was turned, and talk to him like that.
“Your date, I mean,” the waiter says, as if Sirius might not have understood. “Your date’s an asshole.”
His refreshing straightforwardness, his ‘I don't care’-attitude, the challenge hidden in those eyes, it's… Well, it's damn hot, is what it is.
“I know,” Sirius agrees, taking a sip from his drink.
The waiter smirks. “So, is that your type then? Egocentric pricks?”
Sirius chuckles. “Not quite, no. It was my mother who insisted on this match.”
The waiter arches an eyebrow. “Does your mother always pick your dates?”
“This was a special case,” Sirius replies. “Her brother's daughter just got engaged to a Lestrange, so of course one of her children simply had to attend tonight's event with a Lestrange as well.” He rolls his eyes.
“You do know that you are allowed to say no to your mother, right?” The waiter asks.
“Oh, believe me, I do,” Sirius replies. “Going against my family's wishes is actually one of my specialties, but in this case I decided to oblige.”
“How so?”
Sirius nods towards a couple a few tables to the right and the waiter turns to look.
A young man with features similar to Sirius’, but shorter and slightly thinner, with also shorter hair, styled in an old-fashioned haircut, is talking to another young man, with blond curly hair and a face that seems permanently flushed. They seem not to notice anything else in the room, leaning towards each other with similar smiles on their faces, talking animatedly.
“Cute,” the waiter states.
“My younger brother, Regulus,” Sirius says. “He got asked by Evan Rosier to attend tonight's event together, and he was just over the moon. I knew that our mother wasn't going to let go of the idea of one of her children attending with a Lestrange, and that if I would say no, she would ask Reg, and he has never been as good as I am in telling our parents no. He definitely would've agreed for some stupid reason as ‘placing the family's interest above his own’ or something like that, even though it would've killed him to turn down Rosier.” Sirius shakes his head. “I decided to give Reg this one night with Rosier that he had been so looking forward to, and the only way I could, was by agreeing to attend with Rabastan Lestrange myself.”
“And here I was thinking you just had awful taste in men,” the waiter says. “But there's actually some noble, self-sacrificing reason behind it.”
“It's just one night of sitting in a chair eating fancy food,” Sirius says. “Not much sacrifice.”
“Well, I couldn't do it,” the waiter says, glancing at the many rows of cutlery on the table. “Sitting next to him with so many knives within hand's reach. I would've stabbed him by now.”
Sirius chuckles. “I admit I came close to jabbing a fork in his hand at one point, but I feared I would hit my own leg, as his hand happened to be positioned on my thigh at that moment.”
The waiter makes a face. “I'm sorry.” Then he looks at Sirius with a sincere expression. “Listen,” he begins a tad awkwardly. “You definitely don't strike me as some damsel in distress and I'm sure you can take good care of yourself and don't need to hear this from me, but I hope you're not letting him bring you home? I know it's none of my business, but I don't like the way he's looking at you, and he seems like the type of person who's not used to being told no. I don't like the idea of you being alone with him.”
“Don't worry,” Sirius says, tapping his glass of water. “I made sure I have my own ride. I drove here on my motorcycle.”
“Motorcycle?” The waiter groans, placing a hand over his heart. “God, just when I thought you couldn't get any hotter.”
Sirius barks a laugh.
The waiter tilts his head and smiles while looking at Sirius. “I like your laugh. I didn't hear you laugh like that before.”
Sirius, who can't even recall the last time he blushed, feels his face flush. “That's because it's my real laugh. And Rabastan told me not to laugh like that in public. He says I'll embarrass him, and that it makes me sound like a barking dog.”
The waiter frowns. “Like… that's a bad thing? I mean, can you imagine a better sound than a barking dog?”
Sirius barks another laugh.
“That's two,” the waiter says. “Two times I made you laugh your real laugh. Take that, Rabastan. You know,” he leans forward smiling at Sirius. “I think, given the chance, I can increase that number.”
“What do you mean?” Sirius asks.
“How about we just get out of here together?” The waiter asks.
“Really?” Sirius asks, and then he smirks. “Didn't you just warn me against being alone with a man who might have an ulterior motive?”
“Ah,” the waiter says, holding up a finger. “I said a man who isn't used to being told no. I, however, am very much used to being told no!” Then he cringes at himself. “Good god, did I really just try to flirt with a cute guy by emphasizing how used I am to being rejected?”
Sirius barks a laugh again.
The waiter says nothing, just holds up three fingers.
Sirius shakes his head, but he can't suppress the smile on his face. “You'll lose your job.”
The waiter shrugs. “It's a shite job, with shite pay.”
“Still,” Sirius says. “You'll give it up for someone you know nothing about?”
“I know that I want to hear that laugh more often,” the waiter says. “As for the rest? I'm willing to take a risk.” He holds out his hand. “So, what do you say? Is it too much of a cliché for me to sit on the back of your motorcycle with my arms wrapped around you, while we drive off into the night together?”
It will undoubtedly be stupid. The waiter will lose his job, Sirius will get in all sorts of trouble with his family, and they don't even know each other's name. Yet, there's something about the man that Sirius finds himself unable to resist. “It is a terrible cliché,” Sirius agrees, while still reaching out to take the man's offered hand. “But I guess I can appreciate a good classic.”
Now with a Part Two!

Sirius walked into work that morning with a smile on his face. He was an intern for a company a man named Lyall Lupin owned for wolf rehabilitation. “Ah, Hello Sirius!” He said, jolly.
“Hi Mr. Lupin!” He smiled.
Lyall spun around from his chair, turning to face him. “So I was thinking you would be absolutely grand for my daughter!”
Sirius laughed awkwardly. “Sorry, I’m gay.”
Lyall’s face brightened even more. “Come to think of it, you wouldn’t just be grand for my son, you’d be perfect for him!”
Sirius smiled politely. “Yeah sure.”
The next morning, he came in with another smile. “Hello, Sirius!” Lyall’s voice rang out.
“Hey Mr. Lupin.” He said.
Lyall took of his reading glasses to look at Sirius. “You know, my son has a pair of these.”
Sirius still smiled, but he was groaning internally. “That’s nice.”
Lyall hummed. “Yes, quite. He’s always reading.”
Sirius just thought, that maybe he’d have to go on one date and say that they weren’t right for each other and Lyall would be happy.
Lyall looked him up and down. “He has quite a different style than you. He wears sweaters a lot. Like his grandfather wore them before.” Lyall laughed at his own joke.
Sirius politely laughed along, already dreading the date Lyall was bound to set them on.
A few days pass, and Sirius comes in with a smile on every one of them. He walks in around a week later from his last interaction with a smile. It drops when he hears a second voice in the closed office door. It was deep, and he wasn’t going to lie, madly attractive.
“Nope.” The voice said.
“You havent even met him!” Lyall argued.
“I don’t need to, I-“
Sirius knocked on the door, just to hear Lyall say “Come in, Sirius!”
Sirius walked in with his bag, looking immediately to the man that must have the other voice.
He was tall. Like tall. He had chestnut colored hair, hazel eyes, and was wearing a grandpa sweaters. He had scars running along his face.
But Sirius could not deny, he was extremely handsome.
Lyall cleared his throat. “Remus, this is Sirius, Sirius, this is Remus.
Remus stepped forwards and held out his hand for Sirius to shake.
It enveloped Sirius’s hand by quite a bit.
“I’ve got a dinner reservation for you guys at 6 tonight.” Lyall told them.
They both turned to look at him. “What?” Remus asked.
“Just one!”
__________
Sirius walked into work with a smile. He walked out of work with a smile. He walked inside his house with a smile. He jumped on Remus with a smile.
“Hey love, how was work?” Remus asked in all of his reading glasses, grandpa sweater, book in hand glory.
“Good. I missed you.” Sirius said, nuzzling his way into cuddling Remus’s chest.
“I missed you too.” Remus said, kissing his forehead.

A seat upgrade was literally the least they could do after canceling his flight and bumping him to the following afternoon, Remus thought huffily as he guided his rolling suitcase through the narrow aisle of the airplane.
He looked at his newly printed ticket, and realized he’d passed his row because he was so used to flying Economy or Coach or whatever they were calling it these days. Lifting his suitcase up, he stashed it in the overhead compartment and sat down in his seat. It was much wider than he ad used to and there was more room for his long legs.
There was already someone sitting in the window seat, fiddling with his phone. Remus sat down and took out his book and headphones before stashing his messenger bag under the seat in front of him.
He buckled his seatbelt, accidentally jostling the armrest and the man next to him turned toward him with a raised eyebrow,
“I’m…” Remus started but stopped short when he saw a pair of silver eyes staring at him. “Sorry,” he finished rather lamely.
The man shrugged. “It’s alright,” he said, his voice rich and posh sounding. “Are you flying alone?” he asked, taking in Remus’s restlessness as they both waited for the plane to finished boarding.
“Yes, I am…I was supposed to go yesterday but…yea. Anyway. You?” Remus said, cutting off his rambling the best he could under the penetrating gaze of this other man.
“I am…I’m on my way home from a business trip. Horribly boring,” he said, with a small smile.
“I was visiting my parents…also not a barrel of laughs,” Remus said.
“I’m Sirius,” he said, offering his hand.
“Remus,” Remus said, taking it.
It was like a dam broke. They spent the first hour of the flight talking about anything and everything. Remus could never clearly remember that conversation afterward, but it connected them as they flew across the country.
He also could never remember who made the first move, if it had been him or Sirius but soon after snacks and drinks were passed around, Sirius offered Remus half of his blanket and they curled up together to watch one of the movies. But soon enough, they were kissing like teenagers instead.
When they landed, they were reluctant to leave each other but life and responsibilities beckoned. “Can I have your number?” Sirius asked and Remus obliged. He didn’t think he’d ever hear from him again.
But then, the next day his phone rang. “I can’t stop thinking about you,” Sirius admitted. “Want to get drinks after work?”

- sirius black / remus lupin -
it’s 2005 and Sirius black is trying to figure out his gender, his brother and his new crush - not necessarily in that order. (ft. trans sirius black, a neon pink motorola razr, karaoke bars and overuse of early 2000s pop hits.)
"When Sirius Black was in the third grade, his parents bought him a Hello Kitty boombox. Everything his parents bought for him between the time he was born and the last time he saw them was pink. Floral dresses, fluffy comforters with lace edges, even shiny patent leather mary janes in the palest powder pink. They tried really hard for all the wrong reasons - and it hadn’t made any difference, anyway, in the end."

@wolfstarmicrofic - 302 words
Sirius hated flying. He liked travelling, really, by train, by car, by carriage if need by. All fine. But flying meant you had to be places and fast. Given his family that was never good. It didn't help either that the almost disaster, where the plane had just barely made it down in one piece was about a year ago now.
At least he was going alone. No mother to scold him for “looking sick”, no brother who looked even sicker, no father to behave like everything was an audacity to personally spite him. Just him and his fears.
Almost. To his left sat a sweaty old white man, the embodiment of a heart attack about to happen. His left was still free, but that wouldn't stay that way. His allowance didn't cover first class these days. But Sirius got lucky.
The guy coming up to the seat was cute, facial scars and all. He even smiled, when he sat down, and apologized for bumping Sirius' legs. That was nice and distracted Sirius all the way to the take-off. But then the fear was back. He felt like he couldn't breathe, he felt like his seat was eating him and his limbs slowly dissolved.
“First time?” his neighbour asked.
Sirius shook his head and closed his eyes, trying to imagine himself anywhere, anywhere but here. A strong, warm hand found his and squeezed and a warm voice repeated like a mantra. “Relax. It will be fine. All is well, just breathe...”
In sheer wonder about this reaction Sirius opened his eyes. “How are you even real?”
The cute guy grinned. “How are you?” On his frown he added in awe: “You are literally the most beautiful human being I ever met.” That couldn't be right though. That one sat right there.

cupid
On the tiny stage in the corner of The Hollow is Remus’ favourite place to be, with his battered guitar in hand and a microphone before him. The pub is fairly packed, as it is for the weekly open-mic night. This song was one of the first Remus learned to play, and an old favourite with the usual crowd.
“It's been some time since we last spoke, this is gonna sound like a bad joke,” Remus sings, smiling as he sees Marlene and Lily singing along at their table. The chords flow from his fingers without him having to even think about it. “But momma I fell in love again, it's safe to say I have a new lover.”
That’s the moment James sits down at the table, and there’s someone else with him that Remus catches a glimpse of through the dim pub lighting. His breath catches in his throat: shaggy black hair and high cheekbones, lean muscle and long limbs. Instantly, Remus is struck, his fingers nearly faltering on the frets of his guitar. He knows it’s James’ friend from back home coming to visit but that doesn’t make the way he feels any easier. Shit, the next line seems even more poignant now.
“And I know it sounds so old, but cupid got me in a chokehold.”

Prompt: sand
Sirius flops down on the towel he's spread out, utterly exhausted. He misses half of it, landing partially in the gritty substance beneath him but not caring enough to move. He closes his eyes, but keeps one cracked enough to train it on a babbling Harry, teetering back and forth as he searches for balance, sitting near enough that Sirius can reach him if needed.
He'd thought this would be a good idea. A day out, away from their home that's steadily becoming stuffier and more confining with each passing hour. Sirius is willing to admit his sudden burst of inspiration had maybe been more about him than his godson. But now he's realizing his mistake, the errors in his thinking.
Who brings a two-year-old to the beach alone? What's a toddler meant to do here other than try to continuously wobble his way into the waves to drown and die, driving his godfather to quick insanity? It's too warm, too bright. There aren't nearly enough people wandering about, something Sirius had originally thought would be a good thing. And he is itchy. Sirius groans a little as he thinks about the very long drive here, how useless it had been, and Harry giggles between his senseless chatter beside him.
"All right, mate?" says a voice above him, a shadow falling over him, blocking out the sun sending him to near blindness. "You look knackered or half-dead. Can't figure out which."
Sirius opens his eyes, blinks twice, then squints at the man staring down at him, brown eyes flared with mirth as they flicker to Harry and then back to Sirius. He takes in the stranger's unruly mop of waves falling over his head, brown but almost golden in the sunlight, his gaze dropping lower to admire sun-kissed skin, faintly red in places and gleaming brilliantly. Sirius gapes for a long moment before he comes back to himself and pushes himself up to sitting.
"Er, yeah. Yeah, fine," he manages, shaking himself mentally.
The man's lips twitch a little at their corners, amusement clear. "Sure about that?" he says as he drops down into a crouch beside Sirius. "You seem uncertain." His head cocks a little to the side, staring at Sirius like a curious owl. His breath hits the base of his throat and stops. Sirius swallows.
"'Course, yeah," attests Sirius, voice only wavering a small amount. "Just, y'know, beach day with the sprog. He likes the water too much."
This close, Sirius can see the salt staining the man's flesh. He watches as the stranger flicks his tongue over his lips idly and wonders if they taste like it. Then those brown eyes are shifting over Sirius' shoulder, focusing on something else, and Sirius rounds. Harry is moving, toddling away slowly. Sirius begins to go after him, but Harry stops a few paces away, sitting again, and Sirius returns to rest for the time being.
The man hums a little. "Beaches are difficult places with young children." His gaze settles back on Sirius. "No one helping you?" he inquires, and the question sounds leading.
"No," responds Sirius quickly, probably too quickly judging by the way the man's eyes dancing with humor. "No one, no."
"That's a pity," remarks the stranger, but he doesn't look very apologetic. Then he says, "Sand."
Sirius blinks in confusion. "What?"
The man chuckles and motions with his head towards Harry. "Your kid's eating sand," he informs calmly.
Sirius' head whips around so fast pain bursts through his neck, searing up into the back of his skull. "Harry, no!" he cries, lurching to his feet and darting for the toddler. He hears the man laughing behind him as he goes.

Inspiration
"Urghhhh"
Sirius has been trying to ignore the, -quite annoying- sound coming from the cubicle next to his. He moved to the student library specifically so that he could focus. Especially now that Lily has come back from her internship abroad, he'd rather stay out of his and James' dorm for a couple more hours.
Clearly, his neighbour isn't planning on giving him the peace and quiet he needs to focus.
"Mate, could you keep it down? I really need to fo- oh." Sirius trails off as he takes in the scene next to him. Wild amber eyes stare at him, and it doesn't take a genius to discover that there is an extreme amount of stress radiating off of the poor guy.
"Okay, I think you need to take a break. Let's go get some... tea? No caffeine I think," the black haired man says as he looks at the multiple empty cans of energy drinks. "What are you staring at? C'mon!" He says as he begins to walk away.
"I can't. I need to finish this and I've completely lost all inspiration and I can't just go for a break-"
"Mate. You've been moaning and groaning for the past 2 hours. And not in the fun way either. Let me get you a cuppa, get a bit of fresh air, and then I'll leave you alone again. Okay?"
"Yeah, okay."
"Great! I'm Sirius."
"Remus"

It’s past midnight where I am, so here’s today’s @wolfstarmicrofic for the prompt swing. For @impishtubist who’s had a bad week, hope this cheers you up at least a little, darling.
”Pa’foot!” Harry shrieks as he spots him walking through the gate to the school, setting off into a run and Sirius just about manages to catch him as the boy throws himself into his arms.
”Hiya, sprog,” he laughs, feeling his chest expand as he hugs the boy, pressing a quick kiss to the top of his head, knowing it’s something Harry will grow out of any moment now. But for the time being it’s allowed, and he spins him around before setting him back down on the ground. ”Eager to get home, are we?”
”No,” Harry shakes his head, blinking up at him with bright green eyes. ”Don’t want to go home.”
”Oh?” Sirius asks, ruffling his hair. ”Where d’you wanna go then?”
”I want to go with Teddy,” says Harry, already tugging Sirius along with him, but not towards the exit but rather back towards the school. ”Teddy has a swing and a trampoline behind his house and I think that would be so cool to try and Teddy says it’s very safe and he says he can jump super high and I think if I could just try and jump on a trampoline I’d be very good at it too but if you say I can’t then at least I can swing and you know how much I love to swing and–”
”Whoa, Haz,” Sirius laughs, holding a hand up as he pulls the boy gently to a stop. ”First thing’s first: who’s Teddy? There’s no-one in your class with that name.”
”There is now,” Harry says, practically jumping on the spot as he shoots his godfather an impatient look. ”He started today and he’s all new here and he doesn’t know anyone so I said we could be friends and did I say he has a trampoline and a swing?”
”You did,” Sirius confirms, trying not to smile at the boy’s obvious eagerness. ”But we don’t know if it’s okay with Teddy’s parents yet.”
”Teddy’s daddy said it was,” Harry interrupts eagerly, ”Come oooon, Padfoot!”
Sirius lets Harry tug him along then, towards a boy with brown curly hair that looks about the same age as Harry albeit a bit taller.
”This is Teddy,” announces Harry with a gesture to the boy, ”and Teddy’s daddy.”
Sirius smiles at the boy before shifting his gaze over to the man next to him, his hand extending automatically and he’s got the polite greeting on his tongue but then his gaze moves up to catch on golden eyes and oh.
Sirius feels his world tilt a little, the golden eyes light and shining as he meets Sirius gaze, face framed by brown curls identical to the boy’s and skin impossibly tanned. Oh, Sirius thinks again, numbly.
”Hello,” the man says, voice warm and with a melodic sort of accent that Sirius can’t immediately place. ”You must be Harry’s dad.”
”Godfather,” Sirius corrects automatically before he catches himself, realising how short he must’ve sounded, ”Er, I mean, well, godfather, technically, but also his guardian–”
”Padfoot’s my Padfoot,” Harry explains, tugging at Sirius’ arm keenly. ”Can we go, Padfoot, please?”
”Padfoot?” the man asks, an amused sort of curl to his lips and Sirius can’t help but smile as he looks down at the black haired boy, excitement radiating from him.
”It’s, well…a nickname, I guess,” he shakes himself, turning his eyes back to the man. ”My name’s Sirius.”
The man smiles properly then, shaking his hand, grip firm and warm and the long fingers closing easily around Sirius’. Oh.
”Nice to meet you, Sirius, I’m Remus. And this is Teddy,” he gestures towards the boy who is chatting away happily at Harry, the two of them practically buzzing with excitement.
”Er,” Sirius says again, once he’s managed to tear himself away from the man’s (Remus’) piercing gaze, ”well, Harry said something about wanting to go with Teddy but I don’t want to inconvenience you if–”
”It’s no inconvenience,” Remus assures him before he has a chance to finish the sentence. ”We live just around the corner from here and we just moved in. It’s just me and Teddy so I’m only happy if Teddy’s managed to make a friend on his first day. Really, it’s no problem.”
”Oh, right,” Sirius says, frantically searching for something else to say even as Harry is practically hanging from his arm now, pulling at him. Just me and Teddy, echoes in his head and he steals a furtive glance at the man’s left hand. No ring. ”Well, then…”
He trails off, unable to think of anything else to say, as if he’s completely forgotten everything about how to set up a playdate and he drops his eyes to Harry, the boy groaning dramatically and impatiently, and Sirius recognises it as him being only about half a minute away from a tantrum.
”You could come too.”
Remus’ voice pulls Sirius’ thoughts back and he looks up at the man again. He’s tall, just about taller than Sirius himself which is no mean feat. And his eyes. Sirius can’t look away.
”What?” He asks, because his brain feels foggy.
Remus nods, amusement dancing in his eyes and mouth quirked into a smile, ”Yeah, it wouldn’t hurt if I made a friend on Teddy’s first day either,” he pauses, an uncertain sort of pull around his mouth as he studies him, “Unless you’ve got somewhere else to be?”
”No,” Sirius says quickly, too quickly, he scolds himself but it’s too late now and he clears his throat. ”I mean, that’d work, we just planned to– god’s sake, Harry, stop pulling at me,” he interrupts himself, a little exasperated as he looks down at the boy who pouts at him.
”But you’re taking too long. Can we go or not?” He demands, and Sirius can see James hinting in his features, the steely sort of determination that he used to see on James’ face whenever they played football.
Sirius’ gaze flickers to Remus for a moment but the other man merely makes a half shrug, that same smile still playing over his face as he raises an eyebrow in question.
”Yeah alright, we can go,” Sirius says, unable not to smile at the joyous shouts that emits from the boys, both of them setting off over the school yard.
”Wait for us by the gate, Teddy,” Remus calls out after his son, a fond sort of expression on his face as he watches them run and it makes Sirius melt in an instant.
”You coming?” Remus asks, tossing his head in the direction of the boys, brown curls dancing with the movement and they’re close enough now that Sirius can see traces of faint, silvery scars on the side of his face, almost hidden in the wrinkles around his eyes as he smiles.  Sirius feels something hot spark in his chest, something unclenching there that hadn’t been unclenched in a very long time and all he can do is nod as Remus starts walking, swallowing thickly as he follows behind.
Oh, he thinks again as Remus starts moving, unashamedly running his gaze over his backside now that he can, before he quickly lengthen his steps to catch up with the other man, his heart doing cartwheels in his chest. I’m so fucked.

Summary: "This isn't a date," he bites out, mostly due to confusion without any true ire. He turns to Remus, his face set into deep lines. "I don't have dinner." Remus takes a step backwards, and Sirius only then seems to realize the tone of his voice. "Shit. Sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean – " "No, I'm sorry," breaks in Remus, shaking his head, taking another step back, moving away from the door. "I should have known. Harry said – " "Harry," groans Sirius, his head tipping backwards over his shoulders, eyes rolling to the ceiling. Andromeda turns, hiding a snicker. She catches sight of Harry peeking through the door and passes him a delightful grin.
Or: Harry has a happy life with Sirius, but his dad is lonely. Harry decides to find him a boyfriend.
Comment: This was such a cute fic, I loved reading this wonderful raising Harry AU, and I don't think I've ever read a wolfstar fic from Harry's POV before but it was very cute and hilarious and fluffy, highly recommend!!

Wolfstar Dating-App Meet-Cute
Sirius and Remus match on a dating app
Sirius is very into the frail, “hot” nerd look
Remus is very into Sirius’s everything, but thinks there’s no chance in hell he ever has a shot with the guy. He just stares at his profile and fantasizes. He can’t bring himself to swipe it away, scared that it’ll be the last time he ever sees those beautiful tattoos and the silky black hair and the cute earrings paired with that confident smile… sigh. And he can’t just take a picture and moon over that, that’d be totally creepy!
So whenever he opens the app, it’s to Sirius’s dating profile which in consequence means he can’t swipe anymore.
Oh well, he didn’t really think this dating app thing would work to begin with.
Until- on the third day of opening and closing the app he accidentally gives the guy a superlike!
Remus is mortified! This is so embarrassing! Now Sirius will think he actually believes he has a chance! Only weirdos give superlikes! Ahhh! He screams into his pillow.
He’s so distracted in fact that he doesn’t notice the app telling him “It’s a match!”. At least not until he gets a notification! From Sirius!
Because, meanwhile, Sirius has been absolutely elated that the cutest guy on the app has given him a superlike! Jackpot! Of course he’s going to text him immediately!
Remus can’t believe his eyes. This must me a dream.
But he obviously can’t ghost the guy! He deserves better! Who is Remus to make him upset!!! No one’s probably ever ghosted Sirius! And he will definitely not be the one to start!
So they talk.
And they bond over their mutual love for dogs and political activism.
Turns out there’s a LGBTQIA+ demo in their city in a few days!
And Sirius wants to go with him!
And if it’s for queer rights Remus can’t possibly say no, right? It’s for the greater good!
So they meet. And Remus is extremely shy at first because Sirius in real life is a thousand times prettier and cooler than on his profile. How is that even possible!
Luckily Sirius thinks Remus’s initial nervousness only makes him cuter!
And Sirius is excellent in bringing people out of their shell. Remus doesn’t even need much coaxing!
He accidentally starts heavily flirting with Sirius after only a few minutes. He just doesn’t realize that’s what he’s doing. He’s only saying what’s on his mind! Sirius deserves to know that the color of his eyes looks lovelier than the summer sky!
So Sirius falls. And Remus does to. How could he not?
They fall madly in love with each other and after a few months they move in together. Then they adopt a dog. They go to every queer and human rights rally in their vicinity.
And obviously they delete the dating app. They will never need it again.
A few months in, Remus comes clean about the accidental superlike and three-day-pining over Sirius’s pictures.
Five minutes later, Sirius is still laughing.
“Did you ever wonder why my profile was still there, even after 3 days?”
“Um, no? What do you mean?”
“If I hadn’t liked you, you wouldn’t have been able to see it anymore!”
“Oh.”

🌸FLUFFY FRIDAY #50🌸
it’s time for some fluff✨
Birthday Kiss From Remus, by Engie_Ivy (1k)
(Chapter 33 of Engie_Ivy’s “Wolfstar Short Stories”)
Sirius wanted a kiss from Remus for his birthday, yes, he just would've preferred it if it had been him Remus was kissing.
Birthdays, jealousy and stupidity — I love it! I would definitely recommend all of Engie’s Wolfstar Short Stories, it’s literally heaven for wolfstar fluff and cuteness.
Loneliness or Digestion, by lurikko (4k)
Remus meets a handsome stranger who has a monster under his bed.
A very unique wolfstar oneshot, I’d say. I get some House by the Cerulean Sea—vibes from this (which I love). Features Teddy, which is not what I usually go for, but I liked it! A sweet and special meet-cute.
Btw, I’m sorry that this is late!! I’ve been really busy with moving lately, and I totally miscalculated the dates… sorry!
xx Elliot

Duck
"Want to feed the ducks, Harry?" Sirius asked, as they walked through the park. The little boy nodded and pointed at the group of ducks waiting expectantly in a small pond.
"Ducks!" Harry exclaimed, letting go of Sirius's hand and running toward the pond. The ducks flapped in surprise and scattered. Harry stopped short, bumping into another kid and knocking him down. The other kid started to cry.
Sirius caught up with Harry and looked around. "Harry, you can't run away from me like that," he admonished, gently. He could still hear the other kid crying. Taking Harry's hand firmly, he approached the kid and his father.
"I'm so sorry," Sirius said. "Is he alright?"
The other parent looked up from where he was crouching in front of his son and gave a warm smile. "No harm done. Teddy was just surprised."
"Ok," Sirius said. He couldn't help staring at the other man, whose gaze made his insides tighten.
He stood up and offered his hand to Sirius. "Remus Lupin. This is Teddy."
Sirius shook his hand, and said, "Sirius Black…and Harry."
"Pleasure to meet you. Hopefully the ducks come back."
