...Y'know I'm starting to see a pattern about some of the characters in the fandoms I'm in-

But for real- How bout Episode 7 of Murder Drones, huh? What a um...fun and lighthearted one :D Like others i was absolutely floored by the reaveal of Cyn having worn Tessa's body like a skin suit, never saw that coming, but also like others...couldn't help but make comparisons to Michael/Ennard from FNaF being in a..."similar situation". I've seen a lot of people joke about it, but so far nobody actually draw it...

So i decided to step in and make that h a p p e n :]

This was a fun one tho! It's been y e a r s since I've last drawn Michael, especially post-scooped, so it was fun getting a designs for him with all the exposed guts and stuff, and with Cyn, even if difficult at first, was also fun being able to draw her design!

It's surprising tho since...this is actually my first piece of Murder Drones fanart, so hope you all like it, and who knows! Maybe I'll do some more on the future since there's a lot of fun moments that i've been meaning to draw, or maybe the next/last episode will give me that last motivation from the series! Guess we'll hafta wait and see >:]]

Me and my sister watched Hellsing together. Here's her opinion on the characters

- Alucard: "He's a cunt, but he's entertaining. I'd probably pay to see him in a strip club. I didn't like him and his shit-eating grin and 'master' bullshit at first, but he grew on me quick and i don't like that he grew on me. He's a complex character, and he's hot asf when he cries. Also I wish we'd seen his Dracula form for longer; that was awesome. Him and Anderson had a thing going on."

- Seras: "Didn't really mind her at first, but liked her after she drank blood. Her transformation and the guns are really fucking cool. I didn't like her voice and her whining at first but it got better after a few episodes. I like her when her personality became a little bit more spunky. Her story's fucked up."

- Integra: "Absolute bad bitch. Her attitude reminds me of myself so idk if I should like it or hate it, she's got a lot of pride which I respect. Really human and I like it, she takes no one's shit and she's a badass. Didn't even FLINCH when she got her eye shot out. Girlboss. She gives me ace vibes also."

- Walter: "I liked him, he was funny. And then he betrayed everyone and became emo. He gave good advice, and he was cool as hell with that wise older veteran vibe. I'm disappointed in him, but the plot twist was actually good. You'd notice the signs if you suspected him from the beginning."

- Pip: "He's FINE. I'd braid his hair any day. I was in love and then I mourned. I'm widowed. He was hilarious, plus his voice actor nailed the French. My favorite character. Screeched when he came back. He's a good leader and I loved his speeches, also his death made me cry. And I don't often cry when watching anime."

- Anderson: "kinda neutral. I didn't like him at first, he was obnoxious as fuck. Then he respected women and opposed Maxwell and his orders so he grew in my esteem a bit. His character is cool as fuck tho. I wish he didn't turn into a monster, he fell to the same level as Alucard. It's like human greed or desperation for power. Him and Alucard had a thing going on."

- Enrico Maxwell: "Lucius Malfoy. I hate him but not the one I hate most."

- Heinkel & Yumie: "Really like these two lesbians. So cool and I respect their resolve, especially Heinkel's. Rip Yumi. You were cool. Heinkel being intersex is a dope detail, she's very androgynous too. I like their designs."

- The major: "Augustus Gloop? I like the fact he refused vampirism, that was cool, but he's an actual fucking sociopath and I hate him"

- The Captain: "Ngl, I actually find him quite dope, aside from the nazi thing. Literally no one respected him, that shit had me crying. His face is pretty and his tits are big, even if he looks a bit goofy at times. Wish we'd seen more of him. I felt kinda bad when he got defeated."

- Schrödinger: "I want this thing dead"

- Rip van winkle: "She gives me the vibes of a Dr Seuss character."

- Zorin: "Bleach Ichigo knockoff. Fuck this bitch in particular I hate her"

- The Valentine brothers: "A slav squat necrophile and his gay brother that used to be a runway model but got cancelled after a scandal"

Overall: A hit, neither of us expected her to like it. She likes the political and literary aspects, and also finds the characters interesting. She doesn't really know how to feel about the ending; she considers it realistic and a good end, but she wished it was more epic. But from a writing perspective it's good. Also she lowkey wished Alucard would turn Integra into a vampire, just because it would be cool. Now we send each other memes about it. She calls Nendocard a whore when she passes by him, but says she'd buy a Pip nendo in a heartbeat

Hi, I was a bit confused ( like you want me only list bots, not humans?), especially if you want only the continuities you listed or all of them? Anyway, I'll do all bc as I was thinking about the answer I got some interesting thoughts. So prepare your tea and sit comfortably ~

Generation 1

In G1 cartoon they made it seem like Bumblebee just gets along with everyone. But I can't remember if Bee had someone among bot who we could consider his best friend. This title really went to Spike exclusively and I know you said to list bots only, bear with me here.

This fits into Bumblebee's struggles, because he's weak, but humans weak too so he feel he belong with them more than his own people. And Bumblebee still friends with Spike even after the human grows up and has a family (and the fact its the only time they show passage of time like this with a human character?)! We don't see Bee a lot on later seasons so I like to assume he just hangs out with Spike's family most of the time.

It would be so dope if they actually explored the idea of human mortality and how cybertronians would handle the invertible. But it never happens in canon even in "serious" continuities. And same even in fandom spaces. I only once stumbled upon the fic where Bee gets super anxious because Spike is getting older, really long time ago. Of course I wrote a story about this, but still, I can't be the only one thinking about this. In G1 based comics it's kinda the same thing, except IDW where Bumblebee has NO FRIENDS ( nor bot or human). Like he had some pals in the past, but he lost them all. In IDW2 there is Windblade who was established as Bumblebee's bestie but they way it was written... it was very cold friendship judging by panels I saw. Not a fan. Ah yes, I didn't watched the Netflix version, so idk, but considering how writers decided to deconstruct the character for no reason I can assume he has no friends at all.

Bayverse

I can's really say anything, I watched only first and second movies and again, Bee was bonded with a human. Same with Bee-movie, I know it's not technically bayverse, but sadly, Bee has the same the design and I still can't watch the movie bc of it xD

Animated

This is very clear that Bumblebee bot bestie is Bulkhead. And if both Bumblebee and Bulkhead were written better we would have a really dope character dynamic. Tho their dynamic is fun even as it is ( Bee crawling all over Bulkhead like a spider is Halloween episode cracks me up), but sadly Bee just never develops as a character.

Prime

I can't say anything about because I didn't really watched the show. I started, didn't liked it and dropped it. The entire aligned continuity isnt really for me, so I skipped Rescue Bots and RiD15. Though, I did like "War for Cybertron" game a lot, and maybe I would watch Prime if character designs were from that game. In the game Bee didn't had any besties.

Cyberverse

Here Bumblebee has bonds with few bots. First one is Windblade and I absolutely loved it. Their relationship was amazing and warm and physically tactile, and that's how I started ship them. Then we see Hot Rod and, now deceased, Blurr and later Bumblebee bonds with Cheetor.

This show had so much potential, like the buildup in S1 was nice and well established dynamic between Bumblebee and Windblade, but then it was all thrown out the window. Windblade was sidelined entirely in S2 as Bee hands out with Hot Rod and Cheetor ( as it's the typical all boys gang no girls allowed) after all this demonstration how close those two are in S1?? Meh.

And when Cheetor sacrifices himself? Bee looks sad at this moment, and then moves on like thing happened and it didn't affect him? What is this?? Ugh.

Earthspark

Right it's too early to say, but we can already see that Bee has a very sibling-like bond with Arcee. And from the trailer it looks like Bee is good friends with Breakdown which is interesting. Maybe he was the reason why Bee picked the racer car after his VW Beetle mode? We will see~

I think it's all? There is Shattered Glass too, but I have no idea, cant say anything. I hope it was enough)

Projects I'm Working On!

Wof: A Fierce Legacy: Au where Fierceteeth becomes queen after proving herself to Glory against other candidates. After some time, she has three dragonets: Two sons named Shadowglider and Sharpmind, and one daughter named Direclaws, who hatched under two blood moons. Now Fierceteeth has to grapple with the fact her daughter will one day challenge her for the throne... and Direclaws has to grapple with seeing that future.

Wof Legends: Alternate Past: Legitimately was made to give poor Foeslayer a better IceWing husband, then I noticed how much would change, so it's gonna be interesting alright xD It's also gonna be huge. Lots of stuff to cover.

Wof: A Moon Taken By Rain: A curious idea I had for an au where Secretkeeper wasn't there on time, thus Moonwatcher is taken and raised by a RainWing named Macaw. Also RainWings get a big rework, because I think it would be more interesting if they weren't uh... well what they are in book three lol. Don't get me wrong, I love my hippie dragons, but I think it would be better if did have a queen earlier on who whipped them into shape.

Wof: RainWing Succession: The story here is that Queen Grandeur of the RainWings has six daughters, and all of them want the throne for various reasons. The sisters are:

Princess Abundance, Princess Blissful, Princess Cassytha, Princess Divine, Princess Felicity, and Princess Luxurious.

Only one of these dragons is worthy of the throne, and she will have to work for it... and find out why one of her sisters has mysteriously disappeared.

This is gonna be a precursor to the Moon Taken By Rain story!

Tmnt: Beast's Embrace: Something I've been playing with for years lol. It is an Au that goes more in depth into what all mutagen can do, where it came from, and how it effects mutants, on more than one plane of existence. It's a bit of a mix of ninja turtles and Bloodborne, hence why it's called Beast's Embrace.

The brothers are quite different from their more canon selves too, because I feel like it be more interesting and make it stand out.

Mike is the oldest at 19, and the leader of the team, therapist, and the main muscle. He is still goofy and fun loving, but also much more serious and level headed, and quite noble. He is based on the Big Headed Turtle.

Raph is the second oldest at 19, though a couple months behind Mike, and he is second in command, helping plan out strategies, along with being a mechanic, often helping Don. He is more stoic, with a calm energy, though is also very brutal when out fighting. He is based on the Northern River Terrapin.

Don is third eldest at 16, and is the doc and brains when it comes to anything mutagen related, robots or chemistry. He is the most severely mutated due to using mutagen he carefully made to make himself "better", and more himself. Very eccentric, his default expression is a smile, and it takes a lot to make him change expression. He makes a lot of friends. He is based on the Roti Island Snake Neck Turtle.

And finally, Leo is the youngest, at 16, being a couple months younger than Don. He is the fastest and most stealthy, able to sneak in just about anywhere. He is very morbid and sadistic, but grows to be noble and just, as he looks up to Mike. He is based on the Bog Turtle.

I get that Ran's intense feelings for us gets in his way to comprehend the logical things we do but my god that fact this his first thought, no hesitation, is to get back to Rindou and us just makes me melt, and then I’m crying because he quickly corrects himself about how can he possibly rely on us. Not that I blame him considering we haven’t given him or Rin any reason to trust or rely on us in years but still. He tried so hard to convince himself at first that this was a scheme of ours to get him out but then doubted that and instead focused on “saving” us from what we have become since we have never given up on him in the past. The fact that he’s thinking about helping us when he’s literally in a life-or-death situation just speaks volumes about how much he loves and cares about us.

I really love the first flashback it was just so cute and wholesome, made me absolutely giddy 🥰. Ah and the back-and-forth banter, I know I mention every time but I just adore back and forth dialogue and you do it so well especially in the flashbacks to portray not only our ages but how close we’ve all become. Hehehe Ran’s a wimp and I totally believe it. Tbh I personally would be jealous of the girls always asking about them tho I wouldn’t show it but the assurance that they were ours just put the biggest grin on my face. 😊

But omg going back and forth between cute flashbacks and then back to Ran getting beaten just gave me absolute whiplash and he’s trying so hard to convince himself that we will be there to help him but there’s that little seed of doubt starting to show that’s winning. 😟

I loved the idea that we have a matching tattoo when you first mentioned it (in ch 2 I think) and I’m really happy that we get to see the flashback of them proposing the idea to us. So, getting confirmation that one of them would step back to try and allow the other the chance to get with us is nice to know I predicted it but I got it all wrong lmao I thought it would be Rindou the whole time. Though I guess he kinda does the same and they both just stand back waiting for someone to make the first move. In the past I feel that it would have to be us that made the move, it would have been kind of risky for either of them to take that chance for a number of reasons. Rindou getting shy about the design was hella cute and Ran having a battle in his head over his feelings and trying not to show them and make Rindou upset just got me all asdlkfjds inside lol.

God the flashback of us not following through with a promise is the catalyst for that seed of doubt and I can’t even blame Ran, I would have been livid to the point of hatred as well. It's just so heartbreaking to see all this from his point of view, from the present beating to the flashbacks of both good and bad times involving us. The fact that us abandoning them is the reason they joined Bonten tbh I don’t know how to feel about it. Sad that we pushed them into it so they could get their minds off us I guess, but as a reader happy just cause Bonten timeline is dope lol.

UGGHHHH😫 Ran’s “I knew you would come” fucking killed me cause in reality he didn’t, he really didn’t know he just hoped and could only hope cause the only other option for him was to die there.

This whole chapter had me all teary-eyed and it was hard to get through because of all the pain he showed and not just the physical beatings but emotionally through all the times he tried to take a step back from us or when we were slowly splitting from him and Rin. HNNNNGG it was so sad but so well written and portrayed you always do such an amazing job on each chapter I just can’t. 😩

geeking out about 3D anime

okay I *need* to talk to you about the anime movie BLAME! (2017). I didn’t expect it, but I immensly enjoyed the movie.

But let’s start at the beginning. I’ve read the manga back in the aughts, and even next to other popular cyberpunk/dystopian/dark manga, BLAME was so *different*.

Barely any words written on the pages, filled with immensly detailed drawings of megastructures that trap the sparse people inside; no horizon is visible, just structures over structures all around, piling up so high, neither ground nor sky are visible. Killy is a lone wanderer, ascending the structure-- A human being as detached from nature as can be.

later I learned how this unique look came to be; manga artist Tsutomu Nihei, and creator of BLAME, had been a student of architecture before he became a manga artist.

Accordingly, many of the panels were architectural in nature; they were “ma”, as panels without words are called, or “aida” which means “inbetween”. It’s a style of panel that isn’t common in western comic traditions, but is widely used in the Japanese way of storytelling: scenes that set the ‘vibe’, so to speak, let an emotion linger.

Not all panels shine like the ones above; you could tell the young mangaka was struggling with action scenes, which are plentiful, and especially faces. Both showed the effort with which they were brought into existence.

The action scenes sometimes are stiff, the faces skewed. They didn’t come easy to Tsutomu Nihei, although he immensly improved on that within the span of the 10 volumes BLAME ran. With time, however, I became fond of this peculiarity.

The world of BLAME is cruel and lonely; rarely does the lone wanderer Killy meet other humans, and even then, the connection is usually only very brief, be it because they die, Killy leaves, or the human turns out to be a machine in disguise who is out to kill every human it encounters. Maybe I’m sugarcoating things that needn’t be, but it made total sense for me that depicting those sparse humans would demand visible effort from the artist.

You can maybe now imagine my.... surprise when I saw the character design of the movie in 2017

anime eyes! so round and smooth! To me, it betrayed the rough and rugged style of the manga, I felt like I could re-watch K-On instead if that’s the style they were trying to sell me. Also, the Berserk movies had already ruined 3D animes for me, and I didn’t want to watch anything that didn’t have hand drawn anime characters anymore. Oh how foolish of me. We get back to that.

So, what changed my mind about watching BLAME? Glad that you asked cuz I cannot and will not stop talking about BATMAN NINJA. Seriously tho, do yourself the favor and watch Batman Ninja if you want to see a movie that is exactly as unhinged as it claims to be, and poses the perfect marriage between traditional Japanese art styles and modern 3D animation. Batman, several Robins, and a whole lot villains get teleported to feudal Japan, what more can I say. Prepare for some stunning views and increasing madnESS THAT WILL NEVER STOP AAAHH. Honestly, it’s a blast. I rewatch it yearly.

pease notice the traditional wave pattern (seigaiha) in the sky, which you usually find on Japanese fabrics, as well as the dry ink stroke look in the shadows of the characters. Here is another look:

ANYWAY. Watch Batman Ninja, let’s get back to BLAME. So, my faith in 3D anime was restored. It still took me a while to watch the BLAME movie, but I can only recommend it. I will probably make a couple more posts to properly geek out about it, but it’s on Netflix, it has some gorgeous shots that made me want to pause the film and gawk at them, and despite the low frame rate at times, when it goes all in, it goes all in and has hands down some stunning animation.

I absolutely LOVE that they decided to make the backgrounds entirely hand painted. Most of the time the background has no 3D whatsoever, or if there’s some, it is so subtly hidden that I didn’t notice it.

The 3D characters mostly blend well into the painted backgrounds, and I love the scratches on helmet and gear that are reminiscent of the rough ink drawings of the manga. Looking back, I cannot understand why I looked at the character designs and was disappointed. Scroll up and look at the face of the girl, she is a 3D model, no 2D. There are some gorgeous shots where you can’t tell that they’re 3D models at all, but I will keep those for a post where I’ll post spoilers. Can’t wait to get to that!

6. Armada Nemesis Prime

This dude was sexy and feral and so damn threatening, but sadly he was part of an episode that said "we got five new toys to promote, lets add this filler episode that contributes absolutely nothing to the plot except give some characters new paint!"

Nemesis Prime didn't even make sense, like I guess he was Sideways the whole time or just a toy of Sideways???

But they never explained why Sideways would do any of this or how?

What was the point except "new toy" indeed.

5. TFP Nemesis Prime

How can I give this dude a good rating, it's just a suit??? No character of its own, just Silas controlling it.

It was a nice episode but this Nemesis Prime just wasn't a character. Only reason I put it above Armada is that its existence is actually plot-relevant.

Though it could have been any robot or mobile suit, it didn't need to look like Prime.

4. Bayverse Nemesis Prime

He is sexy and I love the whole Quintessa idea, but they just didn't go into any depth with this man, a fucking disappointment.

On paper this whole concept is still damn dope tho - I especially love the face colouring and the fact that this Nemesis Prime isn't a clone or something, it IS Prime! Just brainwashed!

3. RiD01 Scourge/ Car Robots Black Convoy

The accident love child of Optimus and Megatron, Black Convoy comes as an evil Prime clone who is relevant to the plot, is badass, has agency and handsome to boot!

Babe even tried to betray Megatron, that is always a good quality to have! :D

His bromance with Dolrailer was pretty nice to watch too ~

Yeah, he is a good evil boy and he'd be even more epic if he wasn't in a kids show

2. Prime Wars Trilogy Rodimus Cron

Never said this is only about evil Optimus Primes-

Rodimus Cron deserves a high place on this list because he caused me massive amounts of internal pain by killing people when I knew full well that the normal Roddy would never do any of it-

His design was epic (except for that beard?), he was strong, badass and damn I even liked his dynamic with Overlord. Just one massive asshole serial killer and his short lil possessed babu, whats not to love? :3

1. Beast Wars II Black Lio Convoy

This evil copy is in one episode only, but damn- he got so much class, sass and personality! More than all these other evil Prime's combined.

I mean just look at him - he's flirting with Lio Convoy, holding that flower!

Babe just said "fuck you, I'm taking over with my honey sweet mouth" and tried to fuck everything up, whats not to love???

hello! im just being curious here so no need to reply or go in depth but i was wondering what things you do like about lok (other than korra herself bc YEAH <3)? due to Reading Hot Takes Online, ive started looking at lok much more critically (which is good, i think), but i do still love it and sometimes miss some good ol' lok love. so i am here, curious about the stuff u like about it!

this is a good question, bc lok had just enough potential to be infuriating instead of just plain bad :)

the character of korra is incredible. the fact that she exists means a lot to me. episode 4x02 “korra alone” is an incredible feat of television (no I’m not biased shut up). I just wish she was the protagonist of a better show, and her character wasn’t utilized to enforce maintaining the status quo, one that is inseparable from a legacy of colonialism (republic city especially). but she is a wonderful character, and an incredible protagonist. I love her very much.

I also really love jinora!! her spiritual connection and prodigious skill as an airbender, as well as her gentle, hopeful nature, is incredibly moving, especially within the context that she is aang and katara’s granddaughter. I love every scene that allows her to shine.

asami had so much potential as a character, and though the writers certainly did not give her enough narrative space, I find her arc fascinating. I only wish her interiority had been explored more, and not mostly through the lens of others.

I also love mako, kya, tenzin, lin, zhu li, suyin (she’s absolutely heinous and I adore her), bolin (sometimes), the red lotus (ming hua tho.. 💦💦), kai, etc. I certainly don’t think all the characters are lacking, just that we got too much time devoted to irritating nonsense from certain men who love to chew the scenery. -_-

like I said above: the red lotus is dope. I wish zaheer had had more than one conversation with korra, because the dialogue they do exchange is fascinating. still waiting on my ming hua WAP amv.... 👀🕰

toph being a swamp hag is good, as is zuko having a dragon. the 0.5 seconds we get of katara and korra interacting means the world to me. I would fully have preferred a series just about their mentor/mentee relationship any day of the week. my katara&korra tag might actually be my favorite part of this blog, and one of my favorite aspects of the entire avatar franchise???? hmm....

I like that they depict the northern air temple’s restoration. that’s important, and I’m glad it’s addressed.

Inside: already spoke of this, but I really do like the game. by the studio Playdead, your a boy in what seems to be in an apocalypse-like world and are breaking into a lab to do...something. the game never explains anything, though it gives hints. thats the fun of it. its a simple but still wonderful artstyle that gives none of the characters any facial features, making it more eerie in my opinion. theres seemingly walking corpses all around, and everyone seems to want to capture or stop you. its only about 4 hours or so (if you dont look for the little Hidden Achievements) but MAN that ending will stick with you. its a puzzle game of sorts, where sections require you to figure out how to proceed. really fun! little scarring! there are 2 endings, but the second one is REALLY hard to get to, so don’t worry abt it.

Journey: GOD this game is old but fun. you play as a strange red-cloaked creature as you, well, journey towards the mountain. along the way you will meet another player that is seamlessly connected to your game. but heres the twist: the other player has no nametag, and you have no way to communicate with them. no chatbox, nothing. you only communicate in simple chirps. and despite that, you team up with this person as you travel together through the lands, finding more pieces of your scarf, traveling the beautiful terrain, all to make it to the mountain. you’ll meet them at any part in the journey, so they could be there the whole way or just a little bit of it. its really fun, really sweet, and while its even shorter than Inside (about 2 hours), I replayed it a lot. the designs on your cloak change every time you play (up to the fifth play, then its the same) and if finding enough pieces to your scarf, can gain a white cloak. I really like this one!

Shelter (1, 2 & likely 3): made by Might and Delight, you play as a mother animal and must travel the land to feed your babies and survive in a harsh world. in the first game, you play as a mother badger with five cubs as you face eagles, floods, the monsters in the dark, etc. the game guides you along, but its still fun. Shelter 2 is where you play as a mother lynx w 4 cubs, and its completely open-world, with a notable few more enemies, but this game absolutely expanded on the first one. pulls at your heartstrings a bit and should you lose a cub, you can’t help but feel awful about it. plus, shelter 2 allows you to play as one of the surviving cubs in the family tree! they’re currently making a shelter 3 with elephants, and I am VERY excited for that. they also have Paws, which is a sort of prequel to Shelter 2 where you play as a lost lynx cub trying to find the meaning of family, and Meadow, which is where you play as other animals in a HUGE multiplayer open world just exploring with no real plot. I’m also especially excited for their other game, the Book of Travels.

Oxenfree: you play as a girl named Alex who travels to a mysterious island with your new step-brother, best friend, and 2 frenemies on some strange school trip of sorts. but as you stay there, you realize the island holds haunting secrets and is out to get you and everyone else. it feeds on grief, and reality itself is glitching and sporadic and you need a radio to figure it out and escape. it has multiple endings, and you can choose the dialogue. kinda like Night in the Woods, but with a LOT of differences. startled me a good few times when I first played it, and I like seeing the other outcomes I can accomplish. and let me tell you, when you play it again after your first playthrough, you’ll be in for a bit of a surprise.

Lost Ember: your a wolf who is the reincarnation of a long-dead human in an abandoned, healing world. a small spirit is trying to find his way into the afterlife, and you both team up to find the afterlife to see why this spirit can’t find it, and why you were denied from it. you find out you can possess other animals and play as them to get around the map and simply have fun! its very beautiful and as you travel you discover the story of your past, which was...quite tragic. also yr a girl n you had a gf so thats a bonus. its not a true open world, as your guided to certain spots, but the lands you travel to are Big and you can spend as much time as you’d like exploring them and finding little easter eggs. its real sweet, I liked it. also that last sequence before the ending *chefs kiss* made me Feel things. its just so PRETTY.

thats all I have rn, tho I imagine someday I’ll have more. these are all ones I own, so I obv can’t speak for other games that sound good if I’ve never played them. I would seriously recommend checking out these games, at least getting an idea for what it is and seeing if you might like it, you never know!

Lemme answer/reply to your points properly!

1. Can we get some obscure bots too? Like Perceptor!

Absolutely! I already have a few in mind and even ideas of what they'd look like in TfP. I didn't consider Perceptor but I think I will think of a good place for him now that you mention it since he's a really fun character. Even if one character doesn't end up in the early part of the AU I'm open to including them in later parts when the squad is on Cybertron! Just a heads up tho, they will be my own take on them so they will be varying levels of different from their other continuity counterparts.

Other characters I might add:

-Swindle

I'm still figuring out his role but I like the idea of him being sorta a neutral player who runs his own little store for shit one side or the other needs.

-Mirage

The conflict potential with an Autobot noble oohoohoo!

-Hook

With Knockout ditching the Decepticons, Megatron need a new medic. I like that he's a snob, so I'm gonna run with that and make him a high caste medic who joined the Decepticon side.

-Blitzwing

He would largely be based off his design in Travis Knight's Bumblebee cause that design seriously SLAPS IMO. I'll get into why it slaps when I design him. Personality wise. I don't think I'm going to go with the TFA characterization, but I think I will keep some of that chaotic energy. I think I'll also have his emotions change on a dime.

I'm salty.. It says Rattrap called him Chopper face in the show so... Maybe I'll just have his name be Chopper or something but Miko calls him Dinobot cause his predacon form looks very reminiscent of dinosaurs and the nickname catches on or something like that.

Feel free to yeet other characters at me to consider. I may or may not use them but it'll give me inspiration nonetheless.

2. I really want to draw/write some fan-works of this! It's beautiful

ok so at the end of the beast wars opening when they go ‘BEAST WARS’ the end sounds all garbled so its like ‘BEAST WARGHISHUDFBJKSFNS’ its really funny

so we’ve watched more beast wars!! woohoo

I continue to really like this show despite the cgi continuing to be painful

I like the characters and plots a lot...it feels pretty episodic rn but there's a throughline of character development and dynamic establishment that keeps things fresh

plus, new characters!! blackarachnia returned offscreen right after she left I guess, so she's here now...I like how she like immediately has her own agenda and isn't loyal to megatron (or tarantulas, who had a hand in her creation) 

and tigatron!! what a cool dude I love him. he’s so chill, and I like that he’s into nature and stuff, that's awesome. he is super epic and I feel like he’s saved the maximals sooo many times lmao. for some reason I feel like he’s eventually gonna be like ‘no I'm gonna go be one with nature sorry guys bye’ and leave the cast - specifically if we move the setting to space/cybtertron later in the show I feel like he’d stay on earth. that's just my hunch tho idk 

and airazor!!! she is super cool, I like her design a lot. cool bord lady...the maximals definitely needed someone who could fly other than optimus (which, why can he fly, he’s a GORILLA). and airazor is dope, I hope she sticks around

also the pods are a great way to introduce new characters and create conflict - all the eps w/the pods have had great tension, and I like that the good guys don't always win (like when the predacons got a pod to make blackarachnia, and later inferno)

ah yes inferno, that was a fun one - I liked how he was more ant-like and that translated into him trying to protect the pod, calling it ‘the colony.’ he’s so massive for some reason which is kinda funny. also ruth and I both hate that he flies around with his spinning ant ass. cursed 

also ruth implored me to include the fact that we’ve been calling scorponok a beta cuck bc he’s just such a loser hbvjakhdsfnaks

on that note its sooo funny to me that literally all of the predacons aren't really loyal to megatron, w/the exception of scorponok, who isn't very useful anyways. like, we start the show off with dinobot defecting like IMMEDIATELY and all the other predacons are trying to take over or undermine megatrons authority constantly. he doesn't seem to care that much tho which is funny. I feel like they spread out the megatron-starscream dynamic from g1 throughout like all the predacons lmao 

also megatron is so funnyyyyyy I love him lmao. he’s so dramatic, he’s like a theater kid but more advanced - like a classically Shakespearian play actor. 

and I find it funny that megatron like, barely ever leaves the base?? he just kinda chills out there and sends his underlings to do stuff, which they’re almost never successful at accomplishing. I feel like megatron has participated in like 3 fights this whole time and almost never actively participates in the plot, unless the plot is taking place at the predacon base. I wonder if he’s busy plotting or something...

also ruth and I both noticed that the characterizations kinda changed around a little from the beginning, like rattrap being less mutinous, optimus being more understanding, etc; which tbh seems to be a bigger Thing in 90s/2000s cartoons (that is, the whole ‘not having the main cast’s characterizations nailed down at the beginning of the show’ thing)

ok what else has happened...I find it super funny that there's been TWO episodes where megatron tries to reprogram a maximal in some way to give the predacons an advantage, and both times it backfired spectacularly. like, didn't he learn from the first time!? 

the starscreams ghost ep was WILD omg. also I saw that that ep was up next and I was like ‘oh we should watch the g1 s3 ep where starscream is a ghost bc there might be important context we’ll need’ and ruth was like ok fine and then we watched it AND IT WAS SO BAD. MY GOD

like, we watched a fair amount of g1 before starting beast wars, and I’ve watched a couple s3 eps (which, I know s3 isn't as well regarded as the pre-movie stuff, but I guess I must have watched some of the better eps bc they weren't like THIS), so i knew this ep probably wouldn't be very good...but we were NOT prepared for the level of badness we were presented with vbahdjkfhbahsjkdf

I mean maybe we were missing in-show context, but also we just had no idea what was going on the entire time basically. the entire episode was so wack. the only takeaway I had is that octane and sandstorm are dating

anyways enough about g1. the beast wars starscreams ghost ep was actually good, I missed g1 starscream, that iconic bitch...none of the predacons are quite on his level in terms of sheer legendary bastard energies

I liked that blackarachnia was like starscreams protégé, complete with her betraying him at the end lmao 

also idk if this is something we’re supposed to know from the beginning, but ruth didn't realize that beast wars megatron and op aren't g1 megatron and op and she was like :0 when that was kinda revealed this ep - idk if that's a spoiler or not but I already knew that going in lol 

oh and the part where op said ‘LETS MAKE THIS A DOUBLE DATE’ and busted dinobot out of the cr chamber? Gay™

oh my god and that ep where the maximals were stuck in beast form and like, reverted to their animal instincts was...sure something vbhajdkfsnbskjf that was a lot 

it was like a much more goofy version of the stuff in animorphs about the characters being influenced by their animal morph’s instincts (which was almost always presented in an absolutely horrifying manner)

but yeah we have 6 eps left in the season (!!!) which we’re looking to finish soon, I’ll probably make another post for those eps and s1 in general woohoo

Phantom Troupe Members in order of who I'd be least to most upset to see die

No one asked for it but I just want to be clear on my opinions on the phantom troupe and no one’s been able to stop me yet <3

Disclaimers:

a. if you like these characters then yes I think thats objectively funny but like. it doesn't make you a bad person, cringe culture dead, like what you like, I'm just someone on the internet, etc etc. go ahead and leave angry rants/dissmissive insults/'umm actually's/etc etc for me to not read anyway tho <3

b. I refuse to look up anything about them, including their names, because I don't care enough. And also because I'm going to spell their names from memory and then laugh when people correct me. So, like, know that I'm not messing up any of the names on purpose, and might not mess them up at all, but I'm not doing a joke or anything with the spelling I just really care that little

c. Also!! Mild manga spoilers?? idk why you would care because it's literally just about the phantom troupe but if that bothers u for some reason then goodbye have a nice day <3 this WILL spoil deaths that I'm pretty sure happened. Maybe. No I haven't read the manga I have ADHD and haven't properly hyperfixated on HxH since I was 13 and didn't know what Manga was.

d. I lied through my teeth! Hisoka. I hate this clown man so fucking much. Like he has funny moments I guess but it doesn't make up for how uncomfortable I am every time I see him. The rest of this list will be funnier because the rest of them are funny and obviously shiny plot devices and not much else, but the fact that this clown man is alive makes me so angry. Also there'd be no entertainment value left here after the emotional exhaustion I'd have complaining about Illumi and also I forgot he joined until just now, so I'm grouping these bitches together and moving on.

Chrolo Lucifer: this man is so funny purely on a fandom level. Like he has half the personality of a stale potato chip, but he's hot and does atrocities and pretends to have thoughts so he lives in everyone's head rent free any way. Not me tho because I'm sexy and cool. Anyway I want him dead purely because the reactions would be hilarious (on BOTH sides to be clear, because people celebrating his death would be almost as funny as people mourning it), it's what Kurapika and the Kurta's deserve, and there's literally no reason for him to exist other then to eventually die.

sphinx: he's just. really annoying. I can't back this up because I don't remember anything he does I just remember thinking he was annoying.

nobabunga: He was mean to the boys!!!!! It's a death sentence those are just the facts. He cried and I gave a nice good chuckle. I want him 2 die then never get mentioned again until Illumi offhandedly mentions that he's Kikyo's brother or cousin or somehting so Kalluto can inherit his swords. Not because they should use them just because I think Kalluto deserves swords and also it would inspire a wave of people caring about Nobaunga WAY too much (one group hating him on principal for being a member of the Zoldyk family, one group deciding he's a Big Brother Icon and reimagining him having a cute and hillariously out of character relationship with Illumi/Kalluto/Killua/Gon, and a mix of the two pumping out psycology breakdowns with entirely too much time and effort put into them, none of which I will watch but each of which will add a week onto my lifetime out of the pure amused euphoria of knowing they exist).

Franklin: Boring. He's in the phantom troupe he can do better then overplayed-frankenstein-aesthetic and bullet fingers. uninspired. At least everyone else sucks in an interesting way.

Uvo: I can't lie his fight scenes were actually pretty dope, and I HAVE to admit that it is HILARIOUS just how much work Togashi put into overpowering/hyping up Uvo, specifically so he could have an established baseline for exactly how incomprehensibly and overwhelmingly excessive Kurapika's will and hatred is. Also that demi lavato AMV of his and Kurapika's fight is just free dopamine. Glad he's dead but he was funny while it lasted and I can appriciate what he gave to the story.

boxing gloves. I know nothing about them (including their name). They might already be dead in the manga but I don't think so.

Pakunda. I don't know how to elaborate on her bc I don't care about her all that much but some part of me can't help but kind of like her a little? I dunno. her loyalty would almost be commendable if it wasn't to Chr*llo.

Pheiten. his character concept and design is literally 'what if we combined Levi and Aizawa and then made him super fucked up' which is impressive because he was made like two decades before either of them. can't justify putting him this far up the list either because he's honestly kinda boring and overplayed but he looks cool and he's funny in a 'what the fuck is wrong with you??' way so here he is.

Kortopi. No I won't elaborate. Yes I know they're dead and I have no significant emotions about this besides >:I

Shizuku. She's cute and she has ADHD and plinky(?) the vaccum is one my favorite nen-things in the show. I'd love to study her and I honestly like her a bit more then I want to.

Machi. I love her specifically because she hates Hisoka. That's all she needs to get a pass in my book. doesn't hurt that she has pink hair and the closest thing to resembling common sense in the group. If Hisoka kills her I'll riot because she doesn't deserve that but if anyone else does it that's fine.

shalnark should be the leader of the Spiders, there, I said it. he embodies them and their narritive purpose and their nonexistant philosophy and arbitrary but unshakable rules and their faux 'emotional depth and complexity' that so many people buy into. He's so funny I love him so much. Like cholo is out here trying to double major in philosophy and theology and fooling thousands into thinking theres a single thought in his head meanwhile Shalnark's only personality trait is being a buisness major with no empathy, and if he was in charge the phantom troupe would loose all of the ambiguity people somehow beleive they have. Like Shalnark is played so straight that I can't help but lowkey love him. Kurta theory is fun in a fucked up way like tfw u become emblamatic of the group you helped kill your clan and you didn't even know because you live in meteor city. Yes I know he's dead and yes it's the closest I've ever come to caring about the troupe and yes it took me three whole days to get over it. Not my best moment I'll admit.

For the record if Kalluto dies I'm going to have at least one mental breakdown. Fuck you.
