Ancestor worship may have existed in the Neolithic.
Some scholars suggest a direct link between Palaeolithic female ('venus') figurines and female depictions in the Neolithic and even Bronze Age. In the Copper Age, male deities were also worshipped, and there was a development towards forming a complete pantheon with mythological figures.
Domestication of plants and animals is in its formative stages here, and 'Industry' comes up, mainly of utensils and ornaments.

To offer a countervailing perspective to that of the strictly humoral or strictly miasmatic theories, my Father, the renowned polymath Athanasius Kircher, wrote in 1658:
"Plague is, in general, a living thing [...], a slow, viscous malignant rot with a stench. [...] Everyone knows that decomposing bodies breed worms, but only since the wonderful discovery of the microscope has it been known that every putrid body swarms with innumerable vermicules."
He proposed that plague could be prevented by appealing to the doctrine of signatures, using amulets made of bumpy toadskin to attract the corrupting bubonic influence of the infinitesimal contagion to itself rather than to the lungs of its wearer.
So perhaps this "germ theory" of which your readers speak has some merit to it after all!
Your most sincere and humble servant,
Dr Athanasius of Rome
Well, perhaps if toadskin amulets actually worked, I would give more credit to his theory :( unfortunately, neither in my day nor the days of the authors of the works I studied when researching plague (Dr. Nathanial Hodges, and noted apothecary William Boghurst, both men of education and medicine during the plague of London in 1665) showed any treatment with toads, be them amulets or still-living-when-applied, proved at all effective when it came to plague...
Alas, it is not my own stubbornness that prevents me from subscribing to these new-fangled theories! it is the simple lack of constructive results.
Perhaps some day, there will be a strong enough case to change my mind.

It was fun! William Kircher was there and I get that you need some sort of MC but I desperately wanted him to shut up several times I'm so sorry
The orchestra was really nice. Which doesn't have to say much coming from me bc I think every orchestra is nice. But they sounded beautiful
As you can see I had a front row seat! Sadly I didn't get to see much of the woodwind players from there (and I love watching them, they make fantastic faces)
I was wearing a mask (and from what I've seen I was the only one) which was beneficial in more ways than one - when they chose people from the front rows to get on stage they aggressively avoided me
