Hello there!

I've been a huge fan of your art of Seb and Clora here on Tumblr for quite some time now. Maybe a year? Idk time is weird aksbjs. Anyway, I'm an artist myself, and I was just wondering, put simply, whats your art process? Like how you shade and color and stuff.

as you can see seb takes me the longest LMAOO hes such a menace for me to draw still...and i dont even think seeing my process helps since its just so much trial and error and warping until it looks right BAHAHA (this is from like a month ago and i ALREADY think seb looks off here too 💀) but my process is super simple, i just colour and cell shade on multiply and then i add a grain texture on soft light 10% at the end. i dont rly do anything fancy for colouring, bc i used to over-render my art and make it really complicated, but now im a fan of just having it look kinda...flat? if that makes sense LOL. i like it aesthetically AND its also easier. OH also something i add to the end of almost all my pieces is this auto-action from clip studio assets which basically adjusts the hue/saturation/brightness. here's an example of what the original flat colours look like vs. when i add this filter:

even if you dont have clip studio the same effect could be achieved with just manually tweaking with the hue/saturation levels afterwards, but i like this filter just cuz its easy and makes the colours more how i like them HOPE THIS HELPS💖💖

I had so much fun drawing your Runaway Royalty Au! I wanted to do a book cover/movie poster style drawing for this ‘cause it felt perfect for your designs. It was def difficult to draw some parts but overall it was really fun

Checked and apparently I spent 28 hours on this lol that’s now the second time I’ve spent that long on a drawing (that wasn’t multiple drawings on one canvas). It def didn’t feel like it took that long. Checked my battery usage and most of it was done in 2-3 hour chunks over the past week or so XD, yesterday (the 23rd, I’m scheduling this post for tomorrow so it’ll be 2 days ago by the time this is posted) was 5 hours tho.

Anyways, I really love your character designs and am super happy you were assigned to me. I had so much fun making the dynamic poses and the background and shading everything. I even actually had fun with the lineart which doesn’t happen super often for me as I tend to find lineart very tedious and tiring to do (I love how it looks tho so I do it anyways). (Also I hope it was ok to add some weapons and magic and that it’s not like conflicting with what’s canon in the au). I was def inspired by like the Voc Machina tv show cover art for this, The Dragon Prince too probably since they have sorta similar artstyles?

(Also I’m glad I was able to get this done ‘cause I got hit with pretty bad seasonal depression at the beginning half of the month and had to make some med adjustments to get outta that rut)

Me: Wouldn't it be funny if Mystra (under the alias "LadyOfMysteries") is on all the Gale Discords and reblogs horny Gale content on her Tumblr. @astraliaa & @bluebeebalmwrites: *proceed to create an entire nuanced YouTuber BloodWeave modern AU narrative over the course of the next hour* ~ I had to write it. ~ Astarion lies in the dark of his room, the only light the artificial glow of his phone, illuminating his face. His eyes narrow as he taps ‘play’.

“Hello again!” A tinny, almost muffled voice rings out cheerily. The man on the screen is about the same age as Astarion, perhaps a little older. He has long-ish brown hair scruffily tied back in a half bun, stubble, and large, tortoiseshell glasses. He's wearing the most heinous purple fleece. From what Astarion can see behind the man, he looks to be sitting in a fairly cluttered kitchen.

Astarion skips ahead in the video. Ten minutes in — ten minutes — the man says, “Anyhow, back to today’s Five Things About Magic video! This time, I’m going to look at five spells absolutely anyone can master. Even you!” The man points into the camera in a way that makes Astarion want to die. 

“First up, we’ve got a really easy one. This is a very handy little cantrip for lighting candles, getting the hob going, seeing in the dark, and so on. Obviously, at higher levels, it gets a bit more dangerous but we don’t need to worry about that just yet. Okay, here it is.” The man tilts his chin down, smiling into the camera before flicking his fingers at a candle on the table in front of him. “Ignis.”

The wick flares into life and the man winks. “See? Simple. And very manageable for anyone to get to grips with, even your granny who always regretted never learning magic will be able to grasp this one!”

Fire bolt is the only cantrip Astarion can do. Grimacing, he skips ahead again. The whole thing is about 45 minutes long. At one point, the entire screen goes blank as the wizard’s phone falls flat without him realizing. The video ends as he’s halfway through rounding up the information for the sixth cantrip on his list. In his Five Things video. Astarion doesn’t know why, but this grates on him even more than the hideous picture quality.

As he always does, Astarion tortures himself by obsessively refreshing the page, watching the likes go up exponentially. The wizard only just posted the video — at 1am on a weekday ffs — and the likes are already in the thousands. Astarion knows that, by this time tomorrow, they'll be in the millions. 

He scrolls down and flicks through the comments, just to fuel the acidic rage in his chest.

Hey y’all, sorry I haven’t been active on here but I’ve finished college lmao. At least for the semester, with As and Bs so far. Hyper focused on school beforehand and didn’t have time to feed you guys with Wally fanart. But~ Now that I’m done for the summer, until I get hired at Hot Topic as my first job or somewhere cool, I’ll be focusing on more Welcome Home art!

Starting with this bad boy I’m making right now. Got one of those 5 dollar Bluetooth radios from Target and spontaneously decided to make this little dude sit on it! Even dug up my old crayola air dry clay stash! Hopefully he doesn’t fall apart when I peel him off when he dries tomorrow lmao. Even added little Easter eggs like a delicious apple and a baby Home behind him so it’s not as blank.

But yeah stay tune for a little Timelapse of me painting him or something! Don’t have a public TikTok but who knows? Maybe I’ll make one just for this post or something. Let me know, if enough people say yeah I’ll work up the courage to do it haha.

Maybe I’ll even scuff up the radio with some sandpaper and spray paint it white to paint it like an old timey radio? Or maybe like the color scheme of Welcome Home with pastel rainbows or something. I’ll think about it after I paint up Wally and seal him off.

But yeah, rambling over, get excited to see this bad boi all polished up soon! Hopefully he doesn’t self destruct because I don’t know how to properly work clay lmao. Imma play it safe and give him like 1 1/2 - 2 days to dry properly.

2025 23Apr24: Chapter 114.1

I know there is no reason for this post but I'm thinking tomorrow or atleast sometime this week before Sunday that I'll either:

1. Set up the camera and timelapse myself starting to construct my treadle lathe.

2. Go out to Cabog-Cabog with my 18th century clothing to snag a few photos.

Yes, I know option 1 is the one I really should focus on because I've been talking about this treadle lathe for months. I have the wood, and I know what I need to do so I can move forward, but I keep stopping myself. So maybe tomorrow I will at least mark the wood where I need to cut out notches and drill holes. I can do this right after dropping the nephew off to school before it gets crazy hot out.

Hopefully with me marking everything it will help encourage myself to go ahead and start cutting some of those notches or dilling those holes... I'd like to make progress. I also am going to go against what I originally wanted to do and I am going to work on getting a four inch angle grinder and a scroll saw so I can push along.

Sewing today sparked my interest to push forward and I need to maintain this positive direction. Problem I have is that I have nobody here to talk to about what I'm doing or to bounce ideas off of. So when I type on here... its like I'm having those friendly conversations with people.

But I suppose I should shower now.

Progress Update #5

Hello again everyone! It’s been a while so here’s what I’ve been doing. 

I animated polls #3 and #4. Every time I animate a poll I get more comfortable using Adobe Animate. I learned how to streamline and speed up the process of animating by copying animated sequences from previous polls and pasting them into new animated polls. For example, instead of animating the transition and texts for each poll, I just copy and paste the layers which also contain the animations from the previous poll and change the texts, that way I can save time for actual drawing.

Look at this bee I drew. It looks like a musubi... Musu-bee.  Anyway, I felt my Instagram posts were a bit monotonous. I felt like I’ve just been throwing information out without having something visually appealing to look at, so from now on I’m going to add little drawings like this to my posts to spice things up.

Tomorrow I’ll be animating my 5th poll, and this time I’ll screen record my work in progress into a timelapse so you can see how I make the polls. I’m really excited for that!
