10/8～10/12は第49候・鴻雁来（こうがんきたる）。北方で冬を越した雁が飛来し始める季節。

【解説】

春に日本を飛び去った雁は秋再び飛来します。津軽では雁は長旅に枝を持参し、海上ではこれに止まって羽を休め、日本へ戻ると浜に捨てて春に再び自分の枝を携えて飛び立つという説があります。浜に残された枝は持ち主の死を意味し、それを集めて風呂を炊くことを「雁供養」といいます。 #七十二候擬人化
