One thing that playing as a Selunite puts emphasis that I really like is that, after saving Aylin up until her personal quest in act 3, Shadowheart isn't actually ready to commit to serving Selune?

There's some hints of it in any playthrough, but if you play as a Selunite there's a few dialogue options where you can talk about her becoming closer to the Moonmaiden and she'll just be kinda like "after all I just went through with my goddess I'm a little hesitant to jump right to another one"

It's good because she *should* get that mourning period before deciding to serve another higher power(or if she even wants to serve one at all but Shadowheart's faith is important to her at the end of the day), but also because it makes clear that Selune is granting her her divine powers even without receiving worship in return

I really enjoyed the first Doctor Who special but there were a ton of parts that made me groan and it was entirely based on clumsiness over practicality. You're telling me that wheelchair user has never faced stairs in the field before?! Her wheelchair is specialized for UNIT. The Daleks can go up stairs, UNIT can't make something that works for her? Otherwise, wouldn't the UNIT guys just know it's cool to go ahead without her?!?!

There's a line about the Doctor not understanding how to let things go bc he's male presenting which really bugged me. Thirteen, as a femme person, didn't let things go either. That line was so clumsy and weird, the Doctor being unable to let things go has nothing to do with his gender, it's just who he is. I know plenty of non-male presenting people who CANNOT let things go. Just a weird ass line.

The actual episode was fun and good, I just wish they had let things just... exist. I wish Rose picking her name hadn't been bc of the mindwarp/ that her identity as a trans girl hadn't been connected to anything to do with aliens or the Doctor. I liked Rose making toys as a side hustle. I dunno, it felt so rushed/ emotional moments didn't hit for me, and I wish they went for casual representation because the attempt didn't land to try and fit all that in, and it was clumsy. I didn't need them to tell me Rose was trans like four times instead of just letting it be a part of her rather than like one of like TWO things we know about her!! All the characters had to do was exist in the story.

Now I'm thinking about it tho I think I'd say 95% of my history classes would have been modern history basically anything from the industrial revolution onwards like the world wars, the Russian revolution followed by the cold war including modules on the Vietnam war and Korean war, and then obviously American civil rights movement, the Irish famine, Irish war of independence, irish civil war and finally a lot about the troubles - in fact I think the only two times I can remember learning about anything older is in primary we learnt about ancient Egypt and in first year of secondary we learnt about the native Americans

Jeff is from out of town but moved to NY to get away. He often visits Montana's place and has a penchant for and is quite highly skilled at playing pool. became good friends with Montana, regularly he'll challenge Montana on his days off to a game or two, winner gets their drink free.

he usually dresses more casually when not in costume. his old job before moving away was dealing with rockets-- weapons and propulsion tech and the like. So he's quite smart and uses his engineering skills to fashion himself a special custom cue stick as well as the special head piece he wears that was crafted to look like an 8-Ball. Taking up the name for himself as well. He has a ragtag group of friends he's made along the way that form a little gang of followers, he's managed to design outfits for each of them, ones with stripes and ones without, giving each a specific number that will be their name while dressed up. each one's identity is hidden with their own masks, although theirs resemble bike helmets rather than an actual billiard ball.

Jeff works for no one, but won't mind being paid for a job or two if asked. No, he works alone and has no goals for controlling the city, he just wants to cause a little mischief and chaos here and there. have a bit of fun, you know? make the city his own pool table to play as he pleases! everything and everyone else are all obstacles that make the games more fun and challenging!

Realizing that I went and wrote a bunch of intentionally aro relationships and my partner was like, "Idk, it seemed like normal relationships to me," and I was like, "I mean yeah it's not that different from ours, I guess, I was kind of going for 45° off from 'normal' romance," and they're like, "Okay, but ours is also pretty much like that," and I'm like, "Yeah, true," and now I'm like, damn hold up, are we both some kinda arospec and THIS is how we figure it out? Because I wrote a long-ass fic about intentionally queer-coded (among other things) robots? Life is weird, man.

Like I've been prone to extreme long-term crushes on a very few (mostly unattainable) people over the years, but I wouldn't have known what to do with them even if they worked out, and cough my ex was not even one of them. I just kind of assumed I was failing to feel a thing I was totally supposed to feel, there, and quite a lot of that relationship emotionally was me going, "Okay, I care like This, but I think I'm supposed to care like That? I'm pretty sure he cares That way. I'm not sure I do, but I mean, there's really only one way*, so maybe I'm just misreading this and actually I do care like That, I'm just bad at it."

*This was me being very incorrect, it turns out. There's all kinds of ways to love someone. It's a very inadequate and nonspecific word.

When I confessed my feelings (which I'd been sitting on for a year) to my partner, their reaction wasn't to be particularly romantic about it. In fact they told me they'd help me move to California if I wanted to. And after I got over my initial confusion of being kissed on the forehead (which is also not super romantic as a gesture and I couldn't decide how to even read that so I kinda skipped over even trying for a while), I was thinking, Awesome, that is a yes. They have promised to assist me with difficult stuff, and said nothing at all about emotions, because that's not a big deal anyway. The important thing is that I can rely on them and vice versa. Cool. We are basically together forever now. Which ended up being true. I just never moved out and now it's like 13 years later, go figure. But that's not what I think actually passes for reciprocating feelings for most people? Worked great for me though.

Anyway I feel like I have accidentally learned something about myself, lol. I guess romance is okay I guess, like it's not repulsive, but seriously, it's WAY more satisfying to me to guess someone else's Quiplash answer because you know they know you would think it's fucking funny, and you do, and because you think it's funny and you're well aware they know your type of humor and you know theirs and that you wouldn't expect them to use "cum" as an answer because that's not usually how they roll, so of course that is the only answer they can possibly give, which is instantly evident to both of you with no conversation whatsoever on the topic. When you got just one brain cell and it's quantum entangled with their just one brain cell so you have a lot of null discussions where nobody has to say anything but it's fully understood anyway, that's The Dream, if you ask me. And like I don't really think that's romantic by the usual definition. You can have that with friends and family, too. But that is what it turns out I prioritize in relationships, which I'm starting to feel like isn't what the majority of people are here for?

Doing research of actual solar flares to compare it to the character Solar Flare and I’m so intrigued??? Like I’m definitely reading into things too much, but solar flares are much more intense and energetic than Solar Flare is. yk?

Solar flares are giant bursts of energy from the sun that can interfere with radio signals, cause blackouts, and are the main reason the northern lights exist, so to me, it would make sense that a character with the name “Solar Flare” would have a personality to match, yeah? Loud or brash or excitable or just generally a pretty bright character!

But Solar Flare wasn’t ever really finished, nor given the ability to fully develop a personality. So while solar flares may be able to match Solar Flare in terms of ability—they did say they could do anything they were asked of—they don’t really match in terms of vibe!

Which, again, I’m likely overthinking it because I’m abnormal about Solar Flare, what if there’s a brighter timeline where Solar Flare is fully built and allowed to form a sense of self? What if there’s a world where Solar Flare has a personality of their own, and it’s just as bright and intense as an actual solar flare would be?

Personally I think that would be delightful so yk
