#why are you guys constantly cannibalizing each other
sometimes I see queer discourse that is so fucking stupid and reductive and bad faith that it makes me want to study queer theory so that I'll have the credibility needed to get a word in against these suckers and to point them in the direction of writing discussing the topic and historical accounts and most of all TO GET TO HAVE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT QUEERNESS THAT ISN'T PEOPLE TRYING TO BITE EACH OTHERS' DICKS OFF BECAUSE THEY DISAGREE but if I were to go into queer studies I'd have to dedicate all of my time to it because that's how academia is formatted and I'd have no time for all the other things I live for like art and writing and cooking food and hanging out with friends and hanging out in nature and learning about science and the natural world and climbing rocks and rollerskating and having really freaknasty gay sex with friends

Awful Characters Round 2 Part 1 (2/8)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut!
IANTHE TRIDENTARIUS
Her number one hobby is ruining every person's that she knows life. Her second hobby is being soooo slutty about it despite looking like a literal wet rat. Her third hobby is having an extremely unhealthy relationship with her twin. Her other hobbies include cannibalism, wearing a maid outfit, being extremely convinced she is the main character, the badboy sexy love interest and the villain. 'Why', you may ask. Well, the answer is, for shits and giggles #justgirlythings i, aswell as literally everybody else in the fandom have gone through the pipeline from hating her to desperately wanting to fuck her. expect for i still fucking hope she dies and doesn't come back for good. (that would literally solve all of everybody's problems) as god intended (EXPECT FOR. one of her hobbies literally is gaslighting god) She is fucking horrible i will love her until i die and even after that
parks and recs jean ralphio voice she's the woooorst!! The moment she learns she has to kill someone to become a Lyctor (aka a more special necromancer), she doesn't hesitate to kill and cannibalize the guy who has been her cavalier since childhood… cavalier who she also totally bullied as kids, she was allowed to choose one guest for her and her twin sister's birthday party each year, and she would always pick whoever she thought her cavalier didn't want to see there! While other characters are shown to regret the process of becoming a Lyctor (which involves someone close to them dying)/were forced into it because of circumstances, Ianthe has absolutely no regrets, she believes she did what she had to do
The author once said of Ianthe: "I don't think she's been nice to anyone, if she has I'll go back and change it." She killed and ate the soul of someone she has known all her life so that she could become a necromantic saint and tormented him plenty before that. General negging, ganging up against him, always inviting people he didn't like to their birthday parties. She doesn't regret killing him. I think she is repulsed by the idea that his digested soul is affecting hers. She helped her crush lobotomise herself so she would be in Ianthe's debt, and later lied and said she didn't see the corpse of a woman her crush killed under her bed (why did she do that? I do not know). She has a bone arm because her original arm was cut off, she hated the replacement so her crush cut THAT off and grew her a new one out of just bones. She had it gilded and only after that did she decide to help her crush deal with the person who had been repeatedly trying to kill her. She wants so badly to be the main character but people keep interrupting her villain monologues.
she has her own content warning tag
She's such a bitch to everyone all the time, she causes nothing but problems, she tries to do a villain speech but fumbles it because her tummy hurt, she is the awfulgirl of all time
THE SKULL
he is an evil ghost who used to be an assistant to a mad scientist gravedigger. accomplice to murder and torture and general evil scheming. now he lives in a jar and is besties with a teenage girl. and by besties i mean he encourages her to kill people and constantly cheers when her friends almost die. overall a silly little decapitated head <3
It is literally a skull in a jar. (More context if you don’t know the books/show: it’s a ghost source that’s been trapped in a silver container so it can’t escape. And it’s exceptionally powerful which means it can actually communicate with mc.) It frequently encourages the mc to commit various morally reprehensible acts such as homicide (she never does). When it was alive, it was a teenage boy who was apprenticed to an evil scientist.

I think people who are mad at Fyodor and saying he underestimates Chuuya forget something though - Chuuya's capable of all these impressive physical feats and stuff, but at the end of the day, he's not particularly smart. He's always easily manipulated by Dazai, Ranpo was able to trap him in a book by simply goading him, Mori is able to keep him in line despite Chuuya being way more powerful, etc. Idk I think the fandom put Chuuya on a pedestal for some reason but he has weaknesses too.
"people who say he underestimates Chuuya" as if... I am not one of those people...? I made a whole analysis on this anon??? I'm a bit confused why you sent this to me...
I'm going to assume this was sent in good faith and that you haven't read the light novels, because it becomes very clear from those that Chuuya is actually perfectly intelligent. I'd say probably above average, if I'm being honest - he picks up new skills very quickly with no formal education and he's really quite intuitive. It's just that the poor guy is constantly surrounded by strategic geniuses, and due to his hot-headedness, he comes across as less intelligent by comparison.
Tumblr media
If he's so smart, why then is he always tricked by Dazai? Well, everyone is tricked by Dazai. It's kind of Dazai's whole thing. He runs circles around most people. He pranks and torments Kunikida, Atsushi, Sigma, and the list goes on. This has little bearing on Chuuya's intelligence, and is much more to do with Dazai's intelligence. Besides, this kind of becomes a moot point when their plans are very much a team effort, made and carried out with barely any verbal communication whatsoever. When it's time to get serious, Dazai is far from leading Chuuya - they're in step with each other. Chuuya keeps up with Dazai, and is capable of challenging him. That's why the partnership works.
Why was Ranpo able to trap him in Poe's book? Let's take a step back and think to the build up of that. Firstly, this is during Cannibalism arc, where each side had two days to save the lives of their respective leaders. Chuuya's family is under threat, and so he's already under a lot of stress. Second, Ranpo is well-known for being an intentionally irritating little toad and he knew just what to say to make Chuuya lose it - ordinarily, Chuuya is actually capable of keeping it together, but Dazai makes him angry enough to explode. Finally, I sincerely doubt Chuuya expected to get sucked into a book. There's no way he didn't think the goading was a trap, but really? He couldn't have known that and likely assumed his ability was strong enough to handle anything Ranpo threw at him.
So, there's a weakness of sorts, and it's actually highlighted by Hirotsu in Fifteen. Chuuya tends to jump into things because he expects he will just be able to "handle things", which is a consequence of growing up with a powerful ability. Hirotsu warns that people who overly rely on their abilities end up in trouble. This scene was likely a form of payoff for that warning. Either way, I'd expect he won't make that same mistake twice.
Why is Mori able to keep him in line? He isn't, because he doesn't have to. Chuuya serves under Mori because he sees Mori as the successful leader that he wasn't. To Chuuya, Mori has what he doesn't - he respects him and thinks he can learn from him. Chuuya sees the Sheep's betrayal as his own personal failure as their leader. This has nothing to do with intelligence, one way or the other.
Moreover, I think it needs to be said that Chuuya is often well aware when he's being manipulated. He's not oblivious, it's just that there's often nothing he can really do about it. For instance, he is very aware that Fyodor's intention in Cannibalism is to make the agency and mafia fight each other, but as they only have two days before Mori dies and that isn't enough time, he opts for the most direct and immediate course of action.
So, there's another weakness - Chuuya's really not a long-term strategist. He doesn't play the long game like Mori, Dazai or Fyodor - he prefers to sort things out as quickly as possible. However, I need to stress that this does not make him unintelligent or never strategic in the short term.
And that is all that is needed to turn the tables on Fyodor - Fyodor devalues everything about Chuuya other than his ability, but it is always Chuuya who wields that ability, not Dazai. I don't think anyone expects Chuuya to come up with a master plan to completely destroy Fyodor's plans for good... but I fully expect Chuuya to clothesline the guy after the way he continues to refer to him like he's little more than a tool. He's done it before.
Actually, I think I'm just going to wrap this up with a quick list of moments I can think of off the top of my head that demonstrate Chuuya's intelligence.
Every piece of media: Chuuya near immediately pieces Dazai's manipulations together in retrospect, from start to finish.
Main manga: Chuuya is sent to negotiate with the Agency, implying he learned negotiation well from Kouyou.
Fifteen: Chuuya awkwardly tries to shift the investigative focus away from Arahabaki and onto the Old Boss. While this doesn't change Dazai's focus, Dazai ends up entirely unsuspicious of him because he thinks Chuuya just wants to beat people up.
Fifteen: Chuuya expressly warned the Sheep against venturing into Mafia territory to avoid extra aggression.
Fifteen: Chuuya knew the entire time that Randou was the culprit and was gauging how much Dazai knew about his own connection to the Arahabaki situation.
Fifteen: Chuuya goes back to investigate the arcade, suspecting Dazai of having tampered with the game, and was correct in his assumption.
Stormbringer: Chuuya escapes Adam by entering a dark tunnel then hiding to give the illusion that he ran all the way through it. It works and Adam runs right past him.
Stormbringer: Chuuya fakes out Verlaine into thinking he's going to attack N while gearing up to attack Verlaine instead.
Stormbringer: Chuuya fakes out Verlaine again so Adam can launch a surprise attack with an anesthetic.
Dead Apple prologue: Chuuya pieces together Dazai's clue from a single piece of dialogue.
Dead Apple: Chuuya near instantly predicts the course of an incoming grenade while on his motorcycle in motion to ride the shockwave and avoid getting hit.
Also, I think it's important to note that Chuuya's ability is gravity manipulation, not telekinesis. He's not moving whatever he touches - he's manipulating one of the forces acting on it. This means he needs to adjust in the moment to other forces acting on the objects in his surroundings, which can and do change - my first thought was of wind affecting resistance. Either way, he's actually having to juggle a lot of sensory information in the heat of a single moment and that's very difficult to do.
If anyone wants to add any "Chuuya is not dumb" moments that I have missed, please feel free to in the tags or the comments.
Anyways, I hope this answered the initial question, anon!

If you were put in charge of making a JTTW movie/TV adaption from start to finish what direction would you have the show go?
*SHAKING AND FROTHING AT THE MOUTH FROM THE THOUGHT OF BEING IN CHARGE OF MY OWN ULTRAVIOLENT BODY HORROR-ESQUE JTTW ADAPTATION* Oh I am so normal about this prospect anon.
But in all seriousness I think I would DEFINITELY want it to be a lengthy animated tv adaptation because there's so much rich backstory and plot in the og classic that a movie length doesn't really let you delve into, AND because the wild transformations and different entities seem like they would be best conveyed in the limitless possibilities of animation! Like just imagine how terrifying a havoc in heaven would be where the Monkey King is shown taking FULL advantage of every single one of his abilities (as-you-will cudgel size transformation, tons of monkey clones, transformation from one creature to another, invulnerability, truth-seeing eyes, transformation into a three-headed six-armed towering monstrosity to fight an Erlang Shen who does the same, etc.). In addition, I also do think that the length of time it took for the pilgrims to warm up to each other and for Sun Wukong to go from a practical and ruthless yaoguai warlord to the Buddha Victorious in Strife is an important part of what makes Xiyouji the classic that it is, and this is all something that I think could be well captured in a lengthy animated series.
I know for sure that I'd want to spend a good amount of time on Sun Wukong's transformation from a relatively innocent stone monkey to the most viciously powerful of the yaoguai warlords to a sincere Buddhist, especially since the very understandable fear of death for himself and his loved ones seems to constantly be a driving force behind a lot of his actions. I think seeing the transformation of the monkey from loving and wanting to protect a relatively small group of people (47,000 monkeys & his friends) to extending that active love and compassion to individuals of all sorts, both human and yao, could be a really cool arc for the Monkey King too. This is especially so as it raises the interesting question as to whether compassion and love can end up being destructive if it's only offered to some but not others, and what atonement for past violence might be.
Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing also present a potentially fascinating case of dealing with disgraced deities who start off by considering their time on Earth and time on the journey a punishment before they eventually come to develop genuine compassion for the mortals they encounter. Stories about a fall from heaven leading to the fallen ones developing greater empathy for those who were once literally below them is my jam, and I think these other two pilgrims could offer a neat way to explore that! Also I want to note that I'm fully on team "Zhu Bajie is constantly complaining that he's hungry and tired first because of his own appetites and then as a way to get the other four self-destructive idiots to stop and take care of the basic necessities of life." For sure I'd also add in that potential hint noted by others that breaking a vase during a banquet had a precedent of being used as a signal to start a coup, thus explaining why Sha Wujing's punishment on Earth was much worse than Zhu Bajie's. And one simply can't do without the indication that it was everyone's favorite Friar Sand who had eaten eight of Tang Sanzang's reincarnations! He may be one of the pilgrim group's straight men, but he also spent centuries as a cannibal <3.
Also yeah hard agree with others that both Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing start off the pilgrimage pretty terrified of Sun Wukong because they saw him at his violently worst in heaven. As a treat :3
I think I'd also have Ao Lie spend more time outside of his horse not just so that he can be a dragon-ish guy as well as an actual dragon, but also so that we can get more insight into how his transformation from a destructive prince to a humble steed changed him. I think it also would be cool to spend a little more time on the dragon kings and how, for example, it does raise some uncomfortable questions about their whole deal if Ao Lie could commit arson & destroy a pearl and be punished pretty brutally while Ao Guang could run a weather-based protection racket for centuries and get a 12 year old to kill himself and yet they all seem to be cool with that :[
I'd also want to make my adaptation one that deals more with the aftereffects of the absolute bullshit the pilgrims go through. For example, it's pretty rare to find an adaptation out there that gives full weight to the stuff Tang Sanzang went through, and while it is understandable why and can be funny to characterize him as one of the "straight men" of the pilgrim group or as the weepy useless guy who falls off his dragon horse all the time, I've literally never encountered an adaptation that for example has him react at the age of 18 to his mother committing suicide after Xuanzang went through so much to try and help her, or him having to see both of the human companions he started the journey with get eaten alive by yaoguai. I'd want to make Tang Sanzang more of a dynamic character than he is even in Xiyouji itself, and I do think delving into this background--you knowing, showing why exactly he does in fact have good reason to be suspicious and even hateful of yaoguai and perhaps more secretly certain humans (his mother was after all brutalized for years by a bandit chief)--would be good to deal with in showing Tang Sanzang's journey to enlightenment. And for sure I'd want to make Tang Sanzang a little more like the historical Xuanzang in having him both be a master translator and a canny rule-breaker; I think that having the story follow history in that Xuanzang was in fact forbidden from going west in search of Buddhist scriptures but went anyway, for example, would be a good path to follow. Might give him an interesting point of relation and sympathy to SWK as well, in that both of them would be challenging authority to do what they think is right.
I do think that this all could also make for a really interesting point of tension and later comprehension between Tang Sanzang and SWK, where you would have the monk and the monkey on the same journey for very different but in some ways similar reasons (Tang Sanzang wants the scriptures because he sincerely believes that they will save countless souls, SWK wants to finish the journey so that he can go back home and protect his monkeys). Like Tang Sanzang would be starting the journey at age 28 and after going through some pretty intense trauma, but having lived in a monastery for most of his life wouldn't have much of a sense of what dangers the world contains as SWK, even though he is determined to complete the journey no matter the cost to himself. SWK, on the other hand, would be starting the journey after the bitter defeat in heaven and the anguish of 500 years in solitary confinement, and would likely be enraged about everything he lost but would still be operating under the terrible elation that came from his vast violent power. As someone else once put it, it could be a similar dynamic to a late middle-aged triads boss having to watch out for a beginning grad student lmao. So you'd have a lot of tension between SWK and Tang Sanzang's world views, with the former thinking that violence is a perfectly acceptable way to solve problems or get what you want, while the other abhors violence of all sorts, and they'd both have plentiful reasons to criticize the other.
While the film The Monkey King 2 is far from the best JTTW retelling out there (though it is one of my personal favorites lol), it also has this pretty great and rare scene for JTTW retellings that I feel I'd like my own retelling to somewhat emulate. Here, Sun Wukong saves Tang Sanzang and a bunch of little kids from the violent actions of a king, but he's only able to do this because the Monkey King is more powerful than the king and is able to legitimately threaten the king with death if he goes back to his vicious ways. Tang Sanzang does get Sun Wukong to spare the king, but the king then directly calls the monk out on the seeming hypocrisy of his mission. I forget the exact words, but the king's accusations were basically about how Tang Sanzang is a fraud and a liar because for all that he preaches peace and forgiveness he wouldn't be able to make it anywhere, he wouldn't be able to save anyone, he would have in fact been killed long ago if it wasn't for Sun Wukong's power and willingness to violence. And I do think in a lot of ways this is the crux of a lot of interesting questions that Xiyouji brings up even if it never provides one solid answer: that we all want to be relieved of suffering, and yet what do we do in a world where violence is something we both constantly suffer from as well as commonly inflict upon others?
I guess ultimately I'd want this to be a retelling that really focuses on the many forms and roles of violence in the shaping of a society, what the consequences of this violence often is, and what might be done to create a more just and peaceful life for all.
I'd know I'd want to spend a lot of time on SWK getting back home to Mt. Huaguoshan and finding it this burned-out ruin with the vast majority of his family dead or otherwise gone, only to realize that this was done by heaven in retaliation for the war and his havoc in heaven in a true case of mythological M.A.D. I feel like this, as with other scenes, would be a good way to bring up Xiyouji's frequent refrain that "for the strong there's always the stronger," and how the devastation that violence and warfare wrecks on a landscape, even if it seems awesome and justifiable at the time it's being waged, leads to horrific problems that don't go away even after generations and which could very easily be turned against you and your loved ones. I've said before that one of the things that I like about the Monkey King is that he almost always has a very clear reason for doing what he does, and I think this would be a great arc for it to really and painfully hit home that ultimately violence does not exist in a vacuum, and, especially when you care about so many, it ultimately serves to create a world where your own loved ones can easily become the next who will suffer. Yet even here the complexity of the situation doesn't stop, because while SWK is able to vastly improve the lives of his monkeys by doing everything he can to restore Mt. Huaguoshan back to its former fecundity, he also protects them by well killing 1000 human hunters who had been going after them for years. The violence may never stop, but neither do the efforts to make the world a more peaceful place. And as it is, no one can live by the sword alone.
Just some sketchy thoughts anon, but I hope you like what I'm laying out :)

im new to the terror so forgive me for this v broad question but ... what are The Ships here ... i know fitzier is big but what else is ... jopzier? is that what they're called? i wanna b in the kno so bad lol also feel free to use this space to talk about dynamics (romantic or otherwise) that ur rly interested in ^_^
AGH OKAY.. trying to wrackmmy brain into remembering all the relevant pairings . it's 4am forgive me if i forget.
fitzier - self explanatory, fitzjames and crozier. somehow speedrun being worstie coworkers to being in a 10 year long tender marriage over the course of a two/three year long expedition. my favorite to read fics for / talk about. they look like this to me 🦭🦙
joplittle - jopson and little. i will be real i don't care for them as much just because i care too much about jopson and crozier but i do get it. what if we were both busting our ass for a guy and only one of us got the praise from him for it ❤️ what if we we became responsible for an entire ship's worth of men on a doomed arctic expedition becahse our captain was too sick to think...together ❤️
bridglar - bridgens and peglar. one of the two canonical couples on the crew. very in love very married i'm not big on them but i understand why. they'll only resort to cannibalism if it means they'll both survive they fit together perfectly and when they die they'll wake up in the afterlife with the other in their arms. what's there not to love!
jopzier - jopson and crozier! dutiful steward and the captain he's dedicated himself to out of sheer love and respect And also because he sees him as a mother figure but i won't get into that. okay this one's my actual favourite i can't even pretend i'm not batshit about them. crozier does not deserve that man but it's okay whatever makes jopson happy ❤️ also when i mean jopson sees him as a mother figure the Him in question is himself. i don't believe in that He Wants Crozier To Mommy Dom Him line of thinking. anyways. what was this thread about. oh yeah pairings.
goodsilna - goodsir and lady silence/silna. i wish i could talk about these two more but i'm not articulate enough to convey what i think about them. they're traumabonded siblings they're the only ones who truly see the other for who they are they're completely incompatible they're all the other has they couldn't have possibly loved the other but they did. i need to rewatch the show just to solidify my feelings on them more but god they're one of the best dynamics the show has
hickeygibson - gibson and hickey! RAT MARRIAGE and the cause of most of my mental anguish ❤️ my two beautiful wives who love each other fiercely until the need to survive tears them apart what's not to love
hickeytozer - tozer and hickey. cop boyfriend with the mr beast haircut and his frequently unemployed gay boyfriend that puts his cigarettes out on tozer's arm. they're great i love hickey and his stupid dog he feeds chocolate to for fun
hickeycrozier - hickey and crozier. um. well. what if your captain loved your men more than god loved them but just fucking hated you in particular and used you as a scapegoat for all his frustrations and failings as a captain leading you to become the gay racist joker of the seven seas. and also what if you said a slur you couldn't reclaim in front of him and like 2 years ago he gave you a drink all flirty. well this all happened to my friend cornelius so you can imagine how he feels about that.
fitzfranklin - sir john + fitzjames. This is a sneak they're not at all popular but I have to shove them in somehow. You know how jfj is constantly trying to get older men to praise him like. Haha best walker in the service i told sir barrow that without blushing ❤️ Hey francis can I talk to you about how my dad didn't care about me and also how we're like brothers ❤️. This is the natural culmination of that to me especially considering how hard she dickrides for franklin in the beginning. Please consider them even though they barely exist. For me.

I had a free afternoon today !!! AND !! i watch the first 2 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies !! SO the first one was i think okay, i hated every single character except for Franklin (i THINK that’s his name, i have a really bad memory) and I thought he was going to be a survivor with his sister, specially cause of the intro and how much it focused on him — VERY disappointed he wasn’t — speaking of his sister WOW she annoyed sm sksksks specially the ending with the constant screaming !! (Ig it is a 70s movie and you know how well they write women but still !! My ears were ringing) BUT !!! HOLY SHIT IS LEATHERFACE FAST SKSKSKKSS what the heck, hes got the zoomies i was genuinely shocked when he grabbed the red shorts girl — i wanna say Pam — in less than a second, i enjoyed but i think maybe the reboot will be better (just so the characters are more fleshed out, cause they started dying too fast)
NOW — THE SEQUEL — ALRIGHT i was so confused the entire time sksksksk but in a good way (like ive never done drugs but thats what i imagine being high feels like) I did really enjoy it but WERE THEY BRINGING PPL BACK FROM THE DEAD ??? WAS THAT HIS BROTHER THAT GOT RUN OVER BY A TRUCK ????? HOW ???? Stretch was fun and had more personality (to say she had one at least) and she was a little smarter but yeah definitely some Gale Weathers shit like girlie is this story really worth it ???? I did enjoy her trying to get through Leatherface (who’s named Bubba ??? 🥺🥺🥺🥺) and him actually wanting to help her, in his weird little way 🥺 OH THE COP ???? Words most useless cop in a horror movie I’ve seen since Dewey in scream 1 (sorry baby but all he did was get stabbed in the back 😩) over all pretty good fever dream of a movie !!
Do you think i should watch the next two or the 2000s reboot ?? (Also sorry for the words longest ask sksksks)
PPFFTT Dewey, your title of himbo useless cop from Scream 1 is being revoked. It goes to Lefty now 😔🏅
Like....I UNDERSTAND Sir, why you want to destroy the place but why are you screaming it the whole time??? Why do you all not have a gun it's 80's Texas and you are an ex cop trying to kill a family of cannibals and you didn't think "Hmm...Maybe mace or a knife or a gun would be a good idea with these chainsaws? 🤔" THEY EAT PPL. YOU KNOW THIS. THERE'S MANY OF THEM.
Yep! The corpse is Nubbins aka the brother that got ran over! Which is Chop Top's (Guy with the plates) twin brother. That's why he's constantly carrying him around. I don't think anyone was brought to life they're just mentally deranged and think they're alive when they're not but...I got questions about Grandpa...Like, out of everything he unnerved me the most when his face came into view all I could think of was NO! ANYTHING BUT GRANDPA!! 😨😭😱
I told u it's like a horror comedy for sure ☠️ Them putting the hammer in grandpas old decrepit hand just for him to hit Bubba instead ☠️☠️☠️ And all I could think of when Stretch and Chop Top were biting, slapping each other is "Oh no, the girls are fighting-"
First one isn't my fav either it was scary for the time but the entire cast, especially Sally and Franklin HATED each other behind the scenes. Constant arguing, in Texas heat with no AC and Leatherface actually ended up cutting Sally's finger for real bc they were so irritated with the blood pump not working so her screaming might be for real bc if I was tied up and these low budget movie producers and director cut my finger for real I'd think WTF 😬
Definitely watch the remakes they are grittier and more gorey but I liked the cast more. I would watch the prequel first (The beginning made in 2006) and then the remake (2003)

If you had to write the concept of the holders in other fandoms youre in (any genre), who would you place where and why?
Ex. John in animal crossing, etc.
OSHSKJS I READ THAT AS JOHN ANIMAL CROSSING THE FIRST TIME I SAW THIS And it was stupidly funny. Also!! I'm so sorry for the late reply I kept getting distracted with other stuff irl.
Mild content warning for mentions of death, murder, poisoning, and vomit
-----
Charles (Steven Universe)- A Cinnabar originally made for the court of Pink Diamond. For my headcanon, Cinnabars are basically just the fire counterparts to Larimars (same size and everything). Got corrupted during the gem war, turning him into a fox-like creature with multiple eyes that's constantly on fire. Extremely mischievous and downright mean as a regular gem, but does have a friendly side he shows as time goes on. Particularly likes pranking his fellow gems in Little Homeworld, said pranks start out destructive but gradually become harmless.
Ferris (Danganronpa)- The Ultimate Dog Catcher. A lax and carefree guy with a love of arcade games and dumb movies. Will talk your ear off about dogs and all the different breeds of them if you give him the chance. Gets along with most anybody he meets, including the player themeselves. Dislikes dark chocolate. Uneasy about the nature of the killing game, but believes that everyone can get out alive if they relax and take their time.
He gets murdered first, of course. He dies via lethal injection while asleep.
John (Animal Crossing, cause my stupid humor demands it)- An extremely shady Greenland shark NPC who "is just mindin his own business, kid." Talks and dresses like a guy from the 50s, minus the slurs. Begrudgingly asks the player to bring him along to a NMT island, claiming he only wants to see someplace different. Rewards the player by mailing them 3 gold nuggets. Implied to be associated with Redd in further dialogue interactions.
Jeagar (...My Little Pony YEAH YEAH DONT BULLY ME /j)- The spirit of a long dead unicorn trapped in the Inspiration Manifestation spellbook. Accidentally released after the book is destroyed in an earthquake. Becomes disgusted with the current materialistic state of the world, then decides to destroy it by bringing the darkest desires of all Equestrians to life. Probably gets defeated and banished forever by the Mane 6. Implied to have been a student of Starswirl's when he was alive.
Daniel (Yume Nikki)- The Living Room, which can be found in the Mall. It consists of multiple pipes laid next to each other, making up the floor and walls. A giant, blue eye sits in the center of the back wall, watching the player. Under the eye is a multitude of buttons and levers. Pressing a random one of these, which changes with each playthrough, will give the player the Steamwhistle Effect. A small whistle lays on top of the player's head, which makes noise as they walk around.
-----
And two bonuses specifically for all the support you've shown me! :)
Sylvain (Snowperson)- A small but angry and borderline feral snowman. Often runs on all fours, each limb having 3 steel hooks instead of fingers or toes. No buttons, but has two red cat's eye marbles for eyes. Hair is made of cheap black pinata paper. Special power is Hemopremolar, which allows the subject to inject a powerful anticoagulant into the victim's bloodstream via biting. This usually guarantees the victim's death from blood loss or shock.
Aldin (Frostbitten)- A tourist from southern Australia who was killed by Sylvain during his vacation. A rather dense and reckless man who throws caution to the wind in the name of fun. Not exactly fond of cannibalism, but does enjoy the immortality and endurance aspect of being a frostbitten. Special power is Acetate Reflux, meaning the subject has the ability to produce extremely corrosive vomit after eating road salt.

🥭🌹🍕 for romeo and 🥃🥯🍰 for salice
Emoji themed OC Questions
For Romeo
Considering he's literally brand new do not expect long answers at all haha... These questions are more fitting for OCs I've had for longer
🥭 [MANGO] What colours best represent them and why? Does this differ from their favourites?
Flaming red and warm colors are usually what he likes to sport. So that's what he wears, usually. They're Good For Business.
🌹 [ROSE] Does your OC believe in true love? Why?
Absolutely not and he honestly does not care about it at all... He just has better things to do... He's just the HR of the P.A.U., hardly any chance of finding true love when you have that job - if you even want to find it!
🍕 [PIZZA SLICE] How good is your OC at sharing? How do they share something if there's not enough supply?
It depends on what is being shared but material goods are generally a no-no. Whatever he's got his hands on is his and his only. If there's not enough supply of something like food, it's others' problem as he will find his own way to procure it for himself. Also being a synchronizer means cannibalism usually helps soothe whatever hunger he might have anyways, so.
For Salice
🥃 [MATE] What does your OC look for in a friend? What do they find is a turn-off?
She looks for someone who's genuine even if they might annoy her or if she finds them pedantic. The easiest way to become her friend is literally to just kind of be yourself, though it will not be easy regardless. She tends to dislike people who flaunt their wealth too much or that act like hot shit without having the stuff to prove it.
She does find a special turn-off people who are excessively nosy and don't respect her privacy - she reveals her secrets in her due time, and someone prodding at them constantly makes her less inclined to share them at all. Patience is key with her, and you'll be rewarded handsomely if you give her time to warm up to you.
Her and Allen have an unlikely friendship for a reason; he is polar opposite of her, but he's still extremely genuine, and doesn't act the way he does as a pretense or to appease to others. He is down to the core a guy who enjoys drawing portraits and is a hopeless romantic, but can also be pragmatic and serious during work hours. Most of all, he respects her and sees her boundaries as something to take seriously. This is why they're best friends and she will literally kill anyone who dares to hurt him, if he'll let her.
🥯 [BAGEL] What does/has your OC have/had an unhealthy obsession over? What caused this obsession? How do they deal with it? Do they seek help?
Salice has always had a core theme of being obsessed with power - and the main cause of it is pure insecurity. Ever since young her parents projected on her their fears and paranoias, as well as a grim outlook towards the world; her father's beliefs especially imprinted on Salice's young mind, causing her to develop a more or less one-sided rivarly with him. This rivalrly is the driving force behind several of her actions in her adult life.
She became a lawyer because he expected her to get a better job than he and her mother did - but he didn't fully believe in her, even if he would help her financially. When she became a lawyer, he didn't wince for a moment - as if dissatisfied, still. That sensation of fatherly disinterest is what drives Salice insane. And so her obsession with gathering power is her way to cope with it, as her father also never approved of magic practices - often demeaning Dragica's activities in her youth as something 'antiethical' and 'unnatural'.
Feeling challenged, this was the reason ever since young Salice practiced and studied necromancy, with her grandmother and within the coven she was in as a teenager - and after that, on her own time. In mondoverse magic works like a dangerous drug that must be dosed carefully each time, because its effects on the body are very physical and real - and can become psychological, were one to exaggerate in using it. Even her grandmother warned Salice against indulging too much - it's the reason why Dragica herself ended up following a different type of application for it in her older years, as an elderly body can hardly sustain the kind of radioactive poisoning magic can inflict on a living creature.
But Salice is stubborn, and mainly driven by a rivalry that will never be resolved, as well as her insecurity that being powerless will never make her amount to anything, so... she does not seek help, and as you can imagine, it is not bound to end well for her.
This more or less also applies to her BG3 iteration, though the stakes are different, the themes of ambition and thirst for power as a result of insecurity and rivalry with her father are still the exact same.
🍰 [CAKE SLICE] How does your OC change as you get to know them?
This is hard to explain because she's kind of. Difficult. But basically you start knowing her as a cynical asshole who does not care about anybody's wellbeing but hers - a workaholic who has no time for dilly-dallying nor does she care to waste time on things she doesn't consider her time.
Eventually you might get to know her as someone who can be fun, though always in the scheme of something chaotic happening. Salice loves to fight, she likes blood, violence, and adrenaline - and you might discover that way that she's a daredevil who enjoys brushing up with death a little too much for her own good. A lot of her frustrations are brought up during fighting, hence why she loves it so much. Stress-relief!
There's honestly a lot that can be figured out from getting to know Salice more but there's so many layers that I like. Have difficulty explaining it from a general point of view, because the way she opens up to people is specific to everyone she meets/interacts with

Forest of nightmares ep 5 s 3
It was now three days into the search and it would be evening by now so the group started to go back to thier sleeping quaters, not being able to find Margareth was even more worring now, possibility of her death was high she never was one to survive in hardcore environments easliy after all.By now the group searched the whole forest area they could. They went to sleep tring not to worry. The next day it was misty and wet, Erick gathered the group and said something important.
Erick - alright group listen up, we made it through the whole forest area exept for one area it's called "the nightmare forest" it is important because if anyone ever got lost for good it's there. at one time i figured out why, you see the forest is magical and it changes the way it looks every ten minutes. It constantly morphs it's shaped and makes you think you left it while you didn't really do so. We need to go there today
Dorothy - and you are telling us about it now
Erick - i wanted to leave it for last just in case she wasn't there
Dorothy - right…
the group set up and went into the woods for what they hoped would be the last time. the mist didn't help them at all and Dorothy felt like it was tring to follow them mabey even tell them something. they would walk for four hours until they got to "the nightmare forest" before they entered they tied ropes onto thier torsos to keep each other together in one group. And then they went in. The mist was thick and it was everywhere. The group started to wonder if they should have came here when there was no mist in sight but they couldn't back down now. they went on forward. They walked for hours until they started to worry that they won't find anyone at all. And then they saw it, laying down on the ground was a body, fortunately it was just a rat, what wasn't a fortune was that it was half eaten, Erick came closer and quickly studied the dead rat, what he saw was petrifying the rat was eaten slowly it had bite marks, but what was even more bad was that the bite marks came from another rat, multiple other rats.
Erick - guys this thing, it was eaten by- by other rats
Markus - Cannibals! we are dealing with cannibals! great!
the group went on forward and they started to see more and more dead creatures. But all these creatures were eaten by thier own kind which meant, that Margareth had some hope, she wasn't a rat nor snake or a lizard, she was a human, and there were no other humans here who could eat her.the mist was still following them becoming thicker and thicker although it wasn't hard to breathe at all. They marched on but then
Dorothy - guys did you hear that
The group stopped and listened
Hello? Helloooo
was that her! Margareth! they started running towards the sound, they went through bushes and jumped over some holes they bearly saw, but as they were getting closer they were sure it was her, it must have been her, it sounded exactly like Margareth, they heard a twig snap and Dorothy was ready to jump through the bush to get to Margareth, her Margareth, and then they heard something else
neigh
A horse? they looked throug the bush and they saw someone a person with a shotgun, wearing a black robe, on a horse made out of mist ….mist …. the person suddenly looked straight at them, they sensed thier presence and started coming towards the group, and the group then saw what the person looked like, they were made out of smoke but behind that smoke was something phyisical, something they couldn't see. the group wanted to run, but the person caught Erick by his sweters collar before they could make any decision
??? - You
Erick - what are you i didn't make anything like you!
??? - you are coming with me.
the person pulled out a knife and cut Ericks part of the rope and before they both dissaperd into the mist Dorothy yelled out.
Dorothy - MARGARETH WAIT!
at that name the person froze let go of Erick and dissapeared into the mist. the group started to worry was that thing really her but before they could discuss it they heard Margareths voice
Follow me
So they began to follow the sound
To be continued

couches, cuddles and cannibals | minho + felix
Tumblr media
pairing: lee minho x reader x lee felix
word count: 2.2k
genre: romance, established relationship, poly, college au
warnings: a horror movie is watched (violence, gore and cannibalism is mentioned with very little detail); literally everything else is so soft and domestic; the spiciest we get is kissing
Tumblr media
summary:
“I’m sorry – what did you say this was called?”
Minho barely bats an eye at Felix’s disbelief, turning on the TV. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
“…Right. What’s it about?”
“A guy with a chainsaw,” Minho drawls, glancing towards Felix. “In Texas.”
Tumblr media
part of the six month anniversary drabble event!
prompt: 15. “can we just watch a movie together and fall asleep on the couch?”
Tumblr media
“We don’t spend enough time together,” Felix complains, as he pokes at his instant ramen. “All three of us, I mean.”
You understand where he’s coming from. It’s Saturday night – and despite having the whole weekend to yourselves, the three of you have holed away in separate rooms, bogged down with assignments. You’re currently slap-bang in the middle of the semester, and things are really starting to pile up, which means date nights have to be put on hold, intimate moments snatched here and there whenever you could.
Over Felix’s shoulder, you see Minho soften at his words, glancing over at him as he stands by the fridge, bottle of water in hand.
And you know Minho agrees too.
You lean over the table, taking Felix’s hand, and press a soft kiss to his cheek. “You’re right. It sucks.”
“It does,” he sighs. You move to pull away, when Felix tugs your hand, turning your attention back to him. “Hey. Who said you could stop kissing me?”
You laugh, abandoning your half-eaten ramen in favour of getting up entirely, skirting around the table to Felix’s chair and seating yourself on his lap. His face breaks out into the widest smile at your actions, free hand immediately going to your hip, and he leans forward to chase after your lips.
Kissing Felix has become one of your very favourite hobbies. He’s sweet, gentle, warm – in contrast to the way his hand slowly slides from your hip to the curve of your ass with zero shame.
You pull away just a little to grin at him, and he returns it innocently, even as his hand gives you a cheeky squeeze.
You lift your head to look over at Minho. In a relationship like yours, there’s always a concern about third-wheeling – and when two people are as constantly and sickeningly affectionate as you and Felix, it’s possible that in a more contentious dynamic, there would be some jealousy.
But the three of you had been friends first, lovers later. You’ve been around each other long enough to know that Minho is perfectly content in shaking his head at your displays of affection from afar. And – in the moments that Minho indulges you both with physical affection – he’s satisfied in watching the way the two of you melt so utterly and completely under his attentions.
With this in mind, your smile widens as you reach your own free hand over to him, waggling your fingers. “Minho, come join the kissing.”
“You’re both so sappy,” Minho sighs, rolling his eyes – but immediately sets down his water and crosses over to join you, reaching up to thread your fingers together. He plants one kiss on your lips, and one on Felix’s. “How did I get stuck with a bunch of gross, mushy saps like you two?”
“Our irresistible charms,” you state, face solemn,
“Stunning good looks,” Felix chimes in.
“An appalling lack of good judgement,” Minho sighs.
“All of these things,” you say, nodding.
Felix tilts his head up, glancing between you and Minho. “Why don’t we do something tonight?”
“That could be nice,” you smile. “You up for that, Minho?”
His expression falters, conflict brewing in his eyes. “I…I can try to make some time, yeah.”
Felix picks up on his tone, and withdraws his hand from your ass to reach up, taking Minho’s hand gently in his own. “Is that OK?”
Minho looks down into Felix’s tentative expression, and smiles softly, squeezing his hand. “I’ve got some assignment stuff to do, but nothing that can’t wait until tomorrow. What do you want to do? Go out? Get some dinner?”
Felix thinks it over, pursing his lips as he weighs up all the options – when suddenly, you’re hit with an idea.
“What about a movie?” You suggest, turning to Minho. “Have you got any good ones you need to watch for your course?”
Minho is a film student – specialising in film editing – and he usually has a long list of movies his professors ‘strongly encourage’ their students to watch and analyse.
Watching one of these together seems like the perfect solution – you all get to spend time together, and Minho gets a little bit of schoolwork done.
Felix’s face brightens at the idea.
“Yeah! Can we just watch a movie together?” He asks, looking between the two of you. “And fall asleep on the couch?”
Minho hesitates, despite your very genius idea. “We can, but…well, the movies I need to watch are all for my ‘Horror on Film’ class. They’re all scary movies.”
Felix blinks. “Oh…well, that’s OK! I’m fine with scary movies.”
“I know you are,” Minho says, before turning to direct a very pointed look at you. Felix follows his look, eyes widening in realisation.
You resist the urge to pout.
“I…I don’t mind horror movies. I’m just not good with jumpscares.”
“Yeah. We know. I still remember when Felix’s weird ski cabin horror game thing made you freak out and crawl into my room at three in the morning.”
You remember that night – so long ago now that it had actually happened before the three of you even started dating. You could remember your heart practically pounding in your throat, eyes constantly searching the darkness of Minho’s room as you nervously crept in, gently putting one shaky hand on his shoulder and mumbling quietly if you could sleep in his bed.
And being so surprised when he pulled back the covers and let you in, no questions asked.
“I’m not that bad,” you try to defend yourself. “And besides, I’ve got you two to snuggle with for moral support. I’m OK with this.”
“Yes! An excuse to cuddle,” Felix declares. “Get in close when something spooky happens.”
He accompanies his words by tugging the two of you even closer to him – and with you already on his lap, that’s an impressive feat.
“Just maybe nothing too gross, preferably,” you add, looking up at Minho. “Maybe something a little older?”
“Yeah! Yeah, we can laugh at the old practical effects!” Felix point out, delighted.
Looking a little more reassured, Minho smiles down at the two of you. “OK. Yeah, we can figure something out.”
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry – what did you say this was called?”
Minho barely bats an eye at Felix’s disbelief, turning on the TV. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
“…Right. What’s it about?”
“A guy with a chainsaw,” Minho drawls, glancing towards Felix. “In Texas.”
Felix makes a face at him, fingers twitching towards one of the sofa cushions, clearly intent to throw it at his head.
Ever the mediator, you cut in to offer Felix some popcorn, and all cushion-throwing plans are abandoned in the face of buttery microwaved goodness.
The three of you have finally figured out the most comfortable seating arrangements – Minho sat upright at one end, notebook balanced on the sofa arm for him to scrawl down little details about the film for later. You in the middle, back resting on Minho’s shoulder, legs up and sprawled over Felix’s lap. And Felix on the end, absently stroking patterns into the skin of your legs with one hand and wolfing down popcorn by the handful with the other.
You settle in, trying hard to relax as the movie finally starts.
There’s a few minutes of slow, suspenseful set-up, a sudden credits sequence – and it’s only when the movie’s cast gets introduced that you feel that strange sense of déja-vu.
You turn your head towards Minho. “Wait, is this the movie with the Leatherface guy?”
Minho keeps his eyes on his notes. “Yep.”
You blink – and immediately smile. “I’ve seen this!”
Both boys immediately turn to give you the most bewildered looks.
“You,” Minho says, dumbfounded, pointing his pen at you for emphasis. “You have seen this movie?”
“Yeah! The main girl’s called Sally, right? Lia did a whole essay on this and the sequel her gender studies class and didn’t want to watch them alone.”
By ‘watching’ them, you mean that the two of you had repeatedly shrieked at the screen, turned on all the lights in Lia’s apartment and took turns escaping to the kitchen to make tea during suspenseful scenes.
And yet, despite all that, you had to admit that you both enjoyed yourselves immensely.
“I didn’t mind it,” you add. “Very few jumpscares. Not even that gory, actually. I was expecting…you know. Chainsaw. Guts. Blergh.”
You accompany your words with a motion to your guts, attempting to mime the act of being eviscerated.
“So, it’s not that scary?” Felix asks, raising an eyebrow.”
You tilt your head, thinking it over. “It’s creepy, for sure. I don’t know about scary.”
Felix shakes his head. “I think you mean it’s very scary. Terrifying, even.”
“But honestly–”
“The scariest movie you’ve seen in your life. So scary, you have to cuddle into the two of us to feel safe. That level of scary, right?”
You cotton on quickly.
“…Yes! Yeah, it’s horrible. The worst experience. I will need so much affection to get me through this. You’re correct.”
“I thought I was,” Felix nods, turning back to face the screen and shifting his weight over to lean his head on your shoulder.
You stay like this for most of the first half – Minho diligently making notes on what you can only assume is fancy technical stuff like cinematography and sound design and, of course, editing. Felix resting on your shoulder, making cheeky comments at dated lines and obvious clichés.
You know the exact moment the mood shifts – and it’s the point in the film when the first character gets thrown onto the meat hook.
You feel Felix stiffen at the sight, going silent, eyes widening as the girl onscreen thrashed around and screamed in pain. He finally murmurs one little word. “…Oh.”
The violence of the film only ramps up from there – cannibals flooding in from left and right, the plucky cast of teenagers slowly being killed off one by one, Leatherface sawing up bodies as he was so infamously known for.
And Felix gets quieter and quieter, shrinking further and further into you until eventually – as main character Sally gets dragged kicking and screaming into the climax of the movie – he nudges his way into your arms.
You turn to accommodate him, swinging your legs back to the floor and pulling him closer into you. He buries his face into your neck, seeking reassurance.
You gently stroke his back, in what you hope is a soothing gesture. He relaxes into you just a little more, still not daring to look at the screen.
You swallow, trying to figure out how to alleviate the tension.
“You know…I think I prefer the sequel,” you finally say, keeping your voice light.
Felix doesn’t respond, but Minho decides to indulge you. He looks up from his notes, turning to face you. “How come?”
You shrug. “Leatherface gets a girlfriend in that one.”
There’s a long, silent pause.
And finally, Felix dares to lift his head. “…What?!”
“In the sequel,” you say, giving him a smile as your hand moves to his hair, running your fingers through it. “Well, maybe ‘girlfriend’ isn’t the right word. He gets a big crush on the main girl and it stops him murdering her.”
Minho snorts. “A tale as old as time.”
“That’s probably why most people didn’t like the sequel,” you continue. “But…I don’t know. It’s a fun little twist. I liked it.”
“Of course you did,” Minho says, but there’s obvious affection in the way he rolls his eyes.
“Everyone deserves love. Even homicidal, skin-wearing cannibals.”
Felix stays quiet, and for a moment, you think you’ve managed to help break the tension – shattered the mystique of Leatherface enough to put Felix more at ease.
But then, of course, the next big scare happens onscreen and Felix goes back to burying his face in your shoulder. “Nope. Thanks for trying, but nope.”
You chuckle, leaning to rest your cheek on the top of his head. “It was worth a shot.”
A movement out of the corner of your eye catches your attention, and you turn to see Minho watching the two of you, eyes soft as he takes in the sight. Felix in your arms, turned into you. You sat tall, in your new role of protector, of comforter, wedged between the two men you loved most in this world.
He takes all this in, and immediately puts away his notes, tossing his pen to the floor.
You watch, wide-eyed. Minho meets your eye, and gives you a shrug. “I can catch up with the rest later.”
You blink. “But…don’t you–”
Before you can even finish your sentence, Minho has thrown an arm around your shoulder, joining your hand in Felix’s hair to assist in stroking him, before sliding down to his back. His other hand crosses over to rest on your knee, and with one quick tug, he pulls the both of you closer to him, bringing you half onto his lap, Felix well within arm’s reach.
“I can catch up with the rest later,” he repeats, punctuating his words with a kiss to your temple.
You smile, melting into him as onscreen, the lone heroine makes her escape with a dramatic jump through the window. You know the movie will end with her alive and well, laughing as she escapes the monsters and drives off to safety.
The three of you watch the happy ending play out, curled up together on your old sofa. It’s quiet, it’s sweet, it’s so undeniably wholesome.
It’s one of the best nights of your life.

Considering the Guild apparently gave you guys a baby Deviljho for study I doubt there's enough concrete info yet on what I'm going to ask, but here goes: Deviljho's hunger is well documented, to the point that my mentor claims to have seen one eat its own tail after he cut it off. Considering that eating the young of one's own species (and sometimes one's actual offspring) is also a somewhat common behaviour in some animals, how on earth does a monster that hungry manage to raise any young to adulthood? Wouldn't it more likely try to eat them once they were old enough (and vice versa with the babies trying to eat their parent once they were old enough)? I get that a lot of monsters have pretty strong parental instincts (me currently being bedridden from poison after I got too close to a Rath nest being proof of that) but Deviljho don't seem to obey any instincts other than to feed themselves. Do they just lay a lot of eggs? Is that why they're so rare in the wild?
I'm sorry to say that this is one of those things I can answer; and it's rather disgusting.
Interestingly, Deviljho will secrete a special hormone in order to tell other Deviljho that they aren't in predator mode to avoid attacking each other. That said: it's very hard to tell fighting and mating apart with the species.
However that's not the gross part. The gross part comes after copulation. Like most reptillian species, Deviljho have a cloaca- and everything comes out that same hole.
The mother Deviljho do not raise their young; the singular egg is incubated in the mothers feces - hence the horrific smell upon hatching. Once they hatch - they immediately are capable of hunting insects and small animals; and you know the rest.
Deviljho are opportunistic predators, the range of what they will devour is a wide array.
They will eat monsters slain by hunters if they see the chance to do so.
This means that they can and will even cannibalize other slain Deviljho or even their own tails.
Tumblr media
Our own "Pickle" is currently kept placated on 5 full grown Aptanoths a day. Though adults typically eat 60kg and up a day.
Our current methods of controlling hunger are by keeping a consistantly low temperature for the Deviljho to live in. We had to devise an entire set up in a cave system where we have a giant water mill working a fanning system to keep the air cool. It works for the most part, but sunny days are terrible especially if there's a drought.
In colder temperatures a Deviljho is almost "manageable"; as in he's not constantly biting at the teeth for something to eat. However we have noticed some problems.
The hunger Deviljho experiences dulls the pain of other underlying issues with the species, such as the Hyperdontia pushing into the Wyverns chin and through the skin - it's extremely painful and our currently only way of dulling the pain so that "Pickle" isn't screaming in agony is by adding cloves or clove oil to their diet. Not exactly a method I like implementing but I can't abide seeing the poor runt rolling in the dirt in agony.
Another is that being reptillian - Deviljho don't like the cold. While "Pickle" doesn't seem to object to it, and almost seems "sane" compared to wild Deviljho - I'd hardly think it ethical to keep him in this cave system. We're making plans to move him to a sanctuary in the Hinterlands - where it's cold but in the sun, and has plenty of roaming room for him. We think he'll be happy there.
Life's not all suffering for the Deviljho, or at least not "Pickle". As while we do keep him in a cold system to make sure his hunger doesn't eviscerate him from the inside - we have found a way to keep him entertained and (somewhat) clean that he likes.
Whilst Kadachi hate brooms - "Pickle" likes to be brushed with one round his snout and under his chin.

Hello, i was just wondering what do you think of akuhigu as a ship? I mean I'm curious about how higuchi ended up being under akutagawa's direct command and why did she fall in love with that guy who constantly hits her and treats her poorly?! I really want asagiri to explore their relationship and not just show it as a one-sided crush without any explanation!!
As a ship? Erm, sorry no. As a dynamic? Heck yeah.
I'm curious as to how Higuchi ended up joining the Mafia in general. I'm already quite intrigued by the notion that she may have some connection to Mori - she's called into his office directly at the beginning of the manga, she's paralleled with Yosano in the scene where both Fukuzawa and Mori succumb to the Cannibalism Virus. There's been some thoughts on a healing type ability, given that she clearly reached out to an injured Akutagawa to do something. Also I know the story only really focuses on her crush, but she's got so much else going on that isn't ever elaborated on - she works hard ostensibly for her little sister, clearly has a "work persona", and is capable of shutting off her emotions and being cold and extremely professional during missions - remember the way she didn't even flinch at Dazai and Kunikida's ridiculousness? Honestly, I just want more Higuchi in general. She was the first Mafia character we the audience meets - why her?
And when it comes to Akutagawa, I think it's really easy to write off as "he just doesn't care about her at all" but I'm going to be honest - I don't think that's true. Akutagawa ranks above Higuchi, but she actually holds a fairly high rank herself, being his support essentially and able to command the Black Lizard - I sincerely doubt he would've kept her in such a position or have her be effectively his right hand if he didn't at least consider her very competent. 55 Minutes has them work quite well together if you're interested and haven't read it already anon, and I think it does show that he respects her at least a little.
He asks her for her thoughts on whether a captive is telling the truth
They bounce intel off of each other very smoothly
When the bomb goes off, the first thing we see him do is call out for Higuchi
Higuchi wasn't sure she could take out a set of guards alone so she tricked them into drinking what I'm assuming was a drugged bottle of sake to knock them out - Akutagawa thought this clever, and was genuinely amused by it
There's also moments in the series too, however brief. He does indeed apologize to her. He also intervenes shortly before Kyouka tries to slice her trigger finger - it could just be lucky timing but I like to think he intervened intentionally.
However, this does not change the fact that he demands her obedience (his rationale often being "because I said so"), and as you said, hitting her repeatedly. This is. Uncomfortable. I'll be honest I don't like Higuchi's writing in the series and this dynamic is largely why. If you're going to write a dynamic like this we could at least delve into it more and denote some interest - I know this whole set up is likely related to one of irl Higuchi's works (Jūsan'ya) where a woman is persuaded to stay in an abusive partnership because the man she is married to is upper class and provides for her lower class family. Higuchi-sensei's works I believe also have themes of unrequited love, and she chose to focus her writing on mostly lower-class people living their lives in general (at least, this is what I've seen. I'll admit I'm not especially familiar with her works.) The author did fall in love with her mentor and the love was unrequited - I'm assuming this is in part the inspiration here. Meanwhile, we know Akutagawa has this mentality of "cruel treatment gets results", which is in keeping with that ongoing theme of abusers in this series largely having good intent, but god-awful execution that is horribly unnecessary. Akutagawa is a product of his own experiences with this, which he projects onto others. I had hoped that this dynamic might've been the first one we got any change in as his character development furthers... but instead it just kind of got sidelined. ...not that I really fully trust it to be given a proper resolution anyways. This kind of stuff is very touchy to me for personal reasons, I'll be honest. :/
On the subject of Higuchi's crush though, I do think Akutagawa is actually aware. Higuchi's not exactly subtle about it, and I take his constant ignoring and changing the subject as discomfort rather than complete obliviousness. If their dynamic does end up becoming a little healthier, it would be kind of funny if it ended a similar way to irl Higuchi's crush... who grew to consider her like a sister instead. Lol. Heartbreaking for poor Higuchi, but actually rather heartwarming for Akutagawa - to admit he considers Higuchi as family? To have family other than Gin? That would be cool tbh.

Hello there, so I haven't seen a lot of your works but for what I've seen I really like it! I was wondering how would be Armin's reaction to an s/o who's even more skilled at manipulating people than he is?
Thanks and have a lovely day!
Thank you for the request! I’m sorry this took me a while to write (I came down with a horrible cold), but I hope you’re having a lovely day as well!

_____________________________________________________
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin values your intelligence. Whether or not you believe you’re smart, he appreciates your insight, open-mindedness, awareness, understanding, and things alike, so he is obviously very impressed that you’re able to read people well and have them right where you want them, listening to the controlling words that smoothly roll off of your tongue and manipulating them with that seemingly innocent glimmer in your eye.
ᵔᴥᵔ Though Armin knows you’re intelligent, he thinks your manipulation works well only because you’re so cute.
ᵔᴥᵔ Look at you, so cute, right? Your mature stature, seemingly friendly nature, wide smile, kind eyes, and a soft voice you only use on others you’re manipulating. It’s enough to fool anyone as it hides your sly nature.
ᵔᴥᵔ And he’s honestly fine with you manipulating playing little jokes on your friends… like when you convinced Mikasa to give you her last piece of bread because you were just feeling so faint, your bones so feeble after you fell off and got trampled by your horse on the last mission. Of course, Mikasa can’t ignore the sadness in your eyes, the way you grab your head and say that you feel so lightheaded, the way you limp up to her to start a conversation, so obviously, she can’t deny you her last piece.
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin watches the whole situation take place and is just bewildered because how did you get someone as quiet and rigid as Mikasa to give you her last piece of food? It never worked when he did it, and he is demanding that you give him some tips.
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin also likes to have a little fun with your skills, and occasionally, you guys will tag-team a manipulation situation to have some laughs.
ᵔᴥᵔ Prepare for trouble and make it double:
ᵔᴥᵔ One time, you tried to convince Sasha that she was technically a cannibal because potatoes alarmingly share so much DNA with humans.
ᵔᴥᵔ “Sasha, look, I didn’t really want to have to tell you this, but you’re behavior is really concerning me,” you said with raised brows and a hushed tone. “The way you’re obsessed with potatoes… don’t you know that potatoes and humans share similar DNA? You’re like a cannibal. It’s frightening!” you exclaimed, shuddering and shaking your head.
ᵔᴥᵔ Sasha erupts with laughter, her mouth full of food. “Yeah right,” she snickers.
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin chimes in. “Y/n is serious, Sasha. That’s why we don’t talk with you as much anymore… I mean, we even call you the potato titan…” he trails off. And there it is. The final button has been pushed as you both walk away, giving disturbed looks to Sasha and exchanging wide grins with one another in secret, interlocking hands. For a while, neither of you saw Sasha eat a potato.
ᵔᴥᵔ Everyone views you two as a power couple. Unbelievably compelling, heroes of humanity, a force to be reckoned with, people who do what they need to and always succeed with the best possible outcome. No one doubts you two, and threats should fear you. You each can’t deny what an honor it is being with one another and working together, especially Armin who is in awe of your fervor and strength, who blushes at your beauty, and whose heart still skips a beat when you grab his hand - (but you do this because you know it makes him feel mushy on the inside). It’s funny, really, the intense atmosphere you bring to the branch, but on the inside, you two are softies who are taking up responsibilities and doing what you are lethally and dangerously good at.
ᵔᴥᵔ You wouldn’t consider yourself to be a “bad person,” but you can’t deny the fact that you love being a little smarter and more manipulative than Armin Arlert because that means you always have him under you - under your control right at the tips of your fingers. Not in a bad way of course… you just love the way that he would do anything for you, that he does whatever you ask, and makes time for you always. And of course you would do anything for him, but can’t you imagine all the things you could make him do for you or to you? Making him only want you and need you? Making him suffocate himself inside your warmth, him being so strong yet so dependent on you?
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin is maybe a tad bit jealous that you can manipulate quicker, easier, and better, but he knows he is better at strategy than you, and he is just lucky that 1. someone can take some pressure off of him. 2. is in the presence of someone so smart, witty… someone that he can learn from, gain knowledge and experience from, and someone that he can have intelligent conversations with, exchange clever jokes with, etc.
ᵔᴥᵔ However, he is a little concerned:
ᵔᴥᵔ Though Armin is strategic, powerful, and extremely useful, he is a gentleman who just happened to get caught up in a terribly hard situation. He had to put his values, dreams, and humanity aside in order to protect others, in order to manipulate enemies… This was very hard for him to do, so he is a bit concerned how you find it so easy to just ‘turn on’ your manipulation mode and are able to control people’s actions so easily and without guilt. Of course he knows you wouldn’t do anything bad, but it frightens him a little that you're this good.
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin also deals with a lot of self-doubt after being bullied and being viewed as weak and useless amongst other things, continuously having to prove himself to others who constantly overlooked his worth. He knows his worth now; he knows he is smart and cunning… but with you being so dangerously clever - a whole other level above him - he can’t deny that he is self-conscious, that he sometimes quivers out of fear and anxiety when he is in your presence. You are so good at what you do - a natural. It’s so easy for you, and he worries that he will have to yet again prove himself to others since you're the "person to go to" now.
ᵔᴥᵔ Armin trusts you - of course he does - but with feeling so weak in your presence, he can’t deny he is a little scared of you using your power over him. What if you’re just using him? As a joke? For personal gain? To get information? These thoughts run through his mind as his heart fills with insecurity.
ᵔᴥᵔ However, Armin is smart too, and he knows that someone who is a better manipulator than he is wouldn’t share their weaknesses with him, wouldn’t share their hilariously embarrassing stories with him, or their fears, dreams, doubts. He trusts your reassurances because even though you’re a master manipulator, he knows who you really are. He knows that when you’re hungry, you become agitated by the slightest sounds because your head hurts so badly, or when you’re anxious, you tend to bite the skin on your lips. He knows that your legs get shaky when you have to tend to the horses at night because you’re secretly afraid of the dark, and he knows how hard it is for you to suppress your laughter when talking to Captain Levi because he is just a little shorter than you. Armin knows you’re a badass - a devious and scheming one at that - and yeah, he can’t deny that you’re the most powerful person he’s met - but when you two are cuddling together in his small bed at night, candles lit, breathing softly, he knows it’s the real you because you’re the one who goes to him for reassurance.
ᵔᴥᵔ You’re both clinging softly to one another, Armin resting his chin on top of your head and giving you forehead kisses while you’re buried into his warm, muscular chest, taking in the distant noises of his heart beats.
“Do you think I convinced him to kill the rest of his team?” you asked, concerned.
“Of course you did, baby, didn’t you see the look on his face?” He reassures you, blue eyes lighting up, and laughing that you’d even ask a stupid question like that. Of course you convinced him… because that’s what you always do.
“Haha, yeah you’re right. He did look pretty pathetic,” you both erupt into hearty laughter. You rest easy, feeling accomplished knowing that you held back a dangerous threat yet again… and Armin takes a deep breath, feeling proud of his robust, intelligent, and manipulative partner, feeling lucky as he gets to sleep beside one of the most powerful minds in the world.

so since you're gonna do the avatar!mc au with the entities you think each brother would fear the most (SO excited for that btw, my friend can attest to the fact that i've basically been rambling about tma x om nonstop since the first post you made that put the two together), i'd love to hear your thoughts on which entity each brother would *be* an avatar of, if you're cool with sharing! personally i love the ideas of specifically vast!levi and dark!belphie but i'd love to hear your takes on the concept! <3
So because of how time works, despite receiving this ask on July 12, by the time you see this it’ll be August! So the entire Avatar!MC series should be out by now, which I hope you will/have enjoy/ed. I wholeheartedly agree with the concept of Vast! Levi, which I’ve talked about before (as you know ;) ), but I will happily ramble about it again!
These aren’t gonna be short fics though bc I do Yearn to save that energy for The Longfic, which is still in the planning stages because a) I can’t pick a timeline, and b) trying to match up the timelines of Obey Me and TMA is hard, especially when I tend to have a violent disrespect for actually paying attention to the timing of plot events in both. I already fucked up a part of the plotting because I forgot the order we get pacts with the brothers lmao
Content warnings: Mentions/allusions to tma-typical Spookies, yet another installation of my Cursed Crossover idea, lengthy debates about what makes someone choose to become an avatar of fear, spoilers for Lesson 16+ of Obey Me and S5 of TMA
What Entity Do I Think The Brothers Would Serve? (Cursed TMA x Obey Me Crossover)
Lucifer
So I put him as falling victim to the Eye/Beholding bc of his whole thing about Secrets and Pride being about wanting control over your own image
And he does have a creepy tendency in canon to always know when his brothers are up to some Dumb Shit
BUT! You know what we see in Lucifer’s character that we see in a certain Entity?
A simultaneous manipulation of others and submission to being manipulated by a higher power
That’s right, I think Luci would be a Web avatar
But Winter, Lucifer wouldn’t wanna take marching orders from someone/thing else! He’s too proud for that— You’re right! He doesn’t want to. But he will.
He willingly submitted himself and his family to Diavolo for eternity to get what he wanted (saving Lilith)
And from how much we see him work, it’s safe to say that he’s a pretty damn essential part of running the Devildom
If he really wanted to, he could probably successfully pull a coup on Diavolo
But he doesn’t, because he’s trapped himself by his own honour code
Thus, the sexual tension bromance we all know and love/insist is Deeply Problematic and blacklist (depending on how much you like/hate dialuci lol)
10/10, would fill with spiders again
Mammon
I put Mammon as falling victim to the Buried for pretty obvious reasons
But admittedly picking a fear he’d serve is trickier
I had to get a bit abstract with it, but I think the Hunt might suit him
Not necessarily the primal *cough* and police brutality *cough* parts of the Hunt tho
More like how Basira was considered an avatar of the Hunt in the fearpocalypse because of her mission/promise to Daisy
See, Greed can stem from fear
Fear of losing what you have, of no longer being able to support yourself, of being preyed upon by others
So people become greedy as a defense mechanism, to protect what they have
If they’re on the offensive, they won’t be targeted
Also, if you’re constantly pursuing more more more, there’s no time to think about anything else
Like consequences, or guilt, or Feelings
If Mammon let his little tough guy act go too far for too long, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to say he could start heading down the path to avatarhood
After all, people pay big money for hitmen and bounty hunters…
Leviathan
As I said last time, I can see why people would associate Levi with the Lonely first: he’s a shut in, he acts like he wants nothing to do with people/would rather be alone, and I get it
BUT! All of that actually stems from the fact that Levi has terrible self-esteem and thinks he deserves to be this gross shut in loser
While envy can make you want to bring others down to your level, so to speak, Levi tends to just shun “normies”, not actively conspire to sabotage them
He actually does crave understanding and to have people in his life, he just doesn’t know how to go about it
Boy’s got Mega Social Anxiety is what I’m saying (funny how both the Lonely and the Eye can be real bad for that, huh)
But the Vast? Nihilism? Takes all the pressure off
If everyone is a small, insignificant speck in the face of an uncaring, unfathomably large cosmos, who cares what you do? Who cares what people think of you?
Yeah, you’d be kinda weird too if you stared into the infinite abyss of the ocean and realized it was just the maw of a gargantuan sea monster too, Karen, lay off
Plus aesthetically, the great Awful Deep most people fear in the ocean is a comfort to Levi
And again, THE VAST IS MORE THAN JUST THE SKY
I WENT ON A BOAT ONCE
LIKE REAL FAR OUT, SO I COULDN’T SEE LAND FOR DAYS
IT WAS JUST ENDLESS B L U E
AND I WAS ON A CRUISE IN THE CARIBBEAN
I SAW A FRACTION OF THE OCEAN’S S U R F A C E AND IT WAS I M M E N S E
Did you know we’ve only explored like 5% or whatever of our oceans? Think about that! Every Single Thing we know about what’s in there is just the tip of the iceberg!!! GOD KNOWS WHAT’S DOWN THERE!!! PROBABLY FUCKED UP FISH IS WHAT
*ahem* anyway, fishee
Satan
Another tricky boi
I marked him down as fearing the Desolation, as a reflection of what he fears most in himself
I probably could have also gone with Slaughter, but I’d say that’s more baby/early-Satan
Desolation is also about destruction of potential, and Satan has very carefully built himself into a non-rage-monster person
So tearing that all away from him is :)))
But what would Satan give himself over to?
Ceaseless Watcher, I want that twink OBLITERATED—
Satan clings to knowledge and erudition to distance himself from the rage he was born as
“Watch and learn” is literally how he became a person
I find it deeply funny that it could also easily be how he becomes a monster once again
Also if you think the avatar of Wrath wouldn’t have a use for supernatural blackmail you’re just straight up incorrect
Couple that with Satan’s various connections and he’d be a Force to Reckon With
Asmodeus
I put him as a victim of the Corruption bc I found it extremely fitting considering the duality of his romanticized image vs the “dirty” fluid-filled nature of Lust.
Lust can be really nasty, but as licentious as Asmo’s supposed to be, he’s surprisingly coy
(now part of that comes from the fact that Obey Me isn’t strictly 18+/full-on porn, but still)
There’s a lot of Interesting Ideas to unpack there with attitudes towards sex vs sensuality and idealisation vs reality
Now as for an avatar… I debated this for a very long time, tossing around Eye, Stranger, Spiral, even Web for like one second
But I think I’ve got it
Slaughter!
Specifically the musical/random outbursts of violence side (not so much the war side)
Why? Well for one, Biblical Asmodeus is said to “"transport men into fits of madness and desire [...] with the result that they commit sin, and fall into murderous deeds (Testament of Solomon, verse 23).”
But also, Obey Me Asmo’s affair with that portrait chick from the earlier lessons started a whole ass war
Like it or not, the boy is very good at instilling manic violence in people
They don’t call it bloodlust for nothing
Beelzebub
I paired Beel with an End avatar MC bc the boy fears losing his loved ones like he lost Lilith
You could argue that Desolation would fit there too but I liked how it fit Satan better
Now as for a Vibe…
I’m tied between Flesh and Corruption tbh
Though corruption is mostly bc buge :)
So I’ll talk about the Flesh
So uh, mass consumerism, meat is meat, cannibalism… see where I’m going?
Ignoring the Hans because that was super racist, the two Flesh avatars I remember best are Jared Hopworth and The Guy Who Stuck His Arm in a Spooky Meat Grinder To Feed His Buds
I think of Jared in relation to Beel not because of the gym thing, but because his very chill/apathetic attitude towards his patron is similar to how I’d picture Beel’s approach to all this
Like “well, guess I’m here now”
I love Beel as much as everyone else, but he’s not exactly apologetic about his… habits
Not to the degree that he’d actually try and change them anyway
So if he got started on the path to Flesh avatarhood, he’d be pretty fucked
Belphegor
I put Web for him as a fear almost entirely because of the concept of Uno Reverse Card, ngl
It does technically tie into his whole thing about being trapped in the attic, since he’d denied all agency and freedom in there, but… Uno Reverse
Dark!Belphie is an interesting concept, and MAG86 “Tucked In” is iconic, but tbh I don’t really… Get the Dark
Don’t get me wrong, put me in a dark place and I will be scared, I don’t like not seeing things, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around why one would become an avatar of the Dark
It’s not a very “primary” fear imo? Like, I’m scared of the dark bc I can’t see what’s there, ie. a threat could be there and I wouldn’t know, but intellectually I know it’s just the absence of light. That’s not really spooky on its own.
I guess what I’m saying is I can attribute spookier things related to the Dark better to other Entities, so I’m not sure what its draw is specifically
According to the Entity Sexiness Survey I did a while back, there’s apparently some Catholic stuff going on with the Dark so maybe that’s why i don’t get it lmao
Anyway I’d put Belphie down for Spiral
“What lies behind a smile” indeed cowboy
Apparently it’s getting choked
Is it because MC’s entire relationship with him is originally founded on a lie?
Is it because the Spiral deals with distortions in your perception, gaslighting gatekeeping girlbossing, as well as foggy liminal mental spaces like between sleep and consciousness, death and life?
Is it because I think Belphie would absolutely delight in driving someone bananas by fucking with their dreams until it bleeds into their waking life?
Is it because being a person or consistent being at all is too much effort, consistent internal geography is hard, fuck it, just be an endless twisting series of hallways?
Yes :)

You leaned back on the seat, messing with your chair as you looked forward, eyes narrow. Hannibal watched your movements carefully. You put your legs up on the chair, fidgeting. He always thought it was odd when you did that, like you could never sit still. Compared to his natural composure, it always seemed like you were moving constantly.
“I should get going,” you said, standing up. You stretched your legs out, as though you hadn’t just been moving them around to get comfortable. He wondered if you had gotten up because of your inability to find a spot you found adequate. “I’ll be in tomorrow but like I said, I would like to catch my boyfriend's class today. He gets nervous if someone he knows isn’t there to ask fake questions.” Your mention of Will was fleeting, as it always was.
Hannibal stood up as well, more composed than you. He followed you to the door and opened it for you.
“You never talk about your boyfriend. I don’t believe I even know his name.” You pursed your lips.
“Because I’m not a patient I’m your secretary,” you said. Your words came out slightly demeaning.
You and Hannibal hadn’t known each other long. You had just started working for him after his former secretary supposedly hopped on a flight and never returned. Alana, one of Will’s coworkers, had suggested you try for this job. You were pleased with it while you tried to get a job alongside Will.
“I’ll see you tomorrow morning,” he said, not dignifying your quip with an answer. You opened the front door and turned to leave. You paused, leaning against the frame, and turned to Hannibal.
“His name is Will.”
The door shut behind you, leaving Hannibal alone. The cold breeze rushed through the waiting room as he stood, contemplating. Will. Hannibal thought of it, testing out it’s feeling on his tongue as he said it. He intended to know more about you before you were officially hired but other things got in the way.
He made a mental note of your boyfriends name as he turned back to finish the patient notes he had started.
-
Will let out a soft, unnoticeable sigh as you rushed into the class. You were late.
You sat in the corner, in the same chair you always did when you managed to come. You tried to catch even the ones that you had heard before. It did calm him, feeling like he was just talking to you. His eyes readjusted to the larger classroom of people. He cleared his throat and continued talking.
The lecture room was stale and large. There was a diagram written on the board in chalk. You studied it, attempting to remember which murder this one came from. After a while, they started to meld together. Will never seemed to want to talk about them when he didn’t have to and you didn’t blame him.
He was flipping through photos on the projector.
“And this is where it gets truly horrifying for Mrs. Marlow. Everyone has thought about killing someone one way or another. Be it your own hands or the hand of God. Now think about killing Mrs. Marlow. Why did she deserve this? Tell me your design. Tell me who you are,” Will finished. He closed his computer, leaving a photo of Mrs. Marlow dead on the hardwood ground of her home.
The class stood up and dispersed out of the door, most of them thinking pretty hard about the dead body they had just seen on the projector. Your eyes lingered on her shut ones, the blood pooling on the ground. You couldn’t imagine what that felt like. You just hoped it was quick.
You stood up, finally focusing back down on Will. He put his glasses on as you watched but his eyes were not on you. He was watching as a man approached instead, someone you didn’t recognize from the back of his head. You hung back by the chairs.
“Mr. Graham, I’m Special Agent Jack Crawford. I lead the Behavioral Science Unit.”
“We’ve met.” Will’s voice was uninterested and distant. You knew the tone well.
“Yes, we had a disagreement about the museum when we opened it.” You narrowed your eyes as you listened to the conversation. It droned on, Will’s disinterest mixing with Jack’s slightly insensitive accusations. Jack asked about where Will fell on the spectrum and Will quipped back. It was clear this man was here to talk about Will’s gift with his empathy.
“But you can empathize with narcissists and sociopaths,” Jack observed. You set your jaw, trying to remain indifferent. You had gotten far too used to people using Will. He left the field for a reason and it was one of the only things that saved his life from going down a wormhole of insanity.
“I can empathize with anybody.” Will’s eyes met yours in a brief way. You took that as your cue to come forward. “It’s less to do with a personality disorder than an active imagination.”
“Can I borrow your imagination?” Jack asked. Will let out a sigh. You came to a slow stop beside Jack.
“Jack this is my girlfriend, Y/N.” Jack turned to you and you shook hands but your heart wasn’t in it. Your natural need to protect Will came over when he was clearly uncomfortable. You reminded yourself he’s a grown man who can protect himself but he’s also your best friend.
“I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure,” you said, voice as pleasant as you could make it.
“I would have remembered,” Jack promised.
“Y/N wants to work in the FBI. She’ll walk with us,” Will stated. Jack nodded, knowing if he protested he was unlikely to get more of Will Graham. Plus, he was likely to tell you everything later.
“I’m assuming you’ve heard about the 8 murders,” Jack said as you started to walk out of the classroom.
“8?”
“I got the 8th about 3 minutes before I walked into your classroom.”
You walked for a bit. It was obvious what Jack wanted. When Will suggested going to see the family of one of the victims family you kindly dismissed yourself but not before pulling Jack aside. Will gathered his thoughts with the pictures of the victims as you moved aside.
“Will is a wonder in the behavioral science scheme and he knows this. If I may be frank Jack I don’t think he would do well so close to any kind of actual murder scene, no matter how good he is at it,” you told him. Jack glanced at Will, then back at you.
“How long have the two of you been together?” You straightened your back.
“Going on a year now.”
“So you know him well.”
“Very well.” Your voice was vaguely threatening. Jack didn’t know that Will had a guard dog.
“I won’t let him get close,” he promised. You purse your lips and glanced back at Will. He was such a fragile thing sometimes, no matter how snarky and headstrong he was at other times. If he got hurt on your watch you wouldn’t be able to forgive yourself.
“I’ll hold you to that Jack Crawford.” You looked back at Jack. “I recommend you see a man named Hannibal Lecter, to help things out. He’s a psychiatrist, I work as his secretary right now. He would be a good profiler, maybe help Will out some.” You fumbled for Hannibal's card. You handed it to him, Jack’s hand brushing yours. The exchange felt muted, though you couldn’t put your finger onto why.
“I’ll look into it.”
“Thank you.”
-
After you slipped out, you were finally able to retreat home. The dogs greeted you as you walked through the doors, licking at your fingers, begging for attention. They followed you around as you started to make dinner, just in case Will got hungry when he came back. He insisted on seeing some of the victims' family, despite your quiet protests. You didn’t want him to take any steps into that world he didn’t have to. You were still thinking of it when his car pulled up outside.
You walked outside onto the porch, the dogs following suit. The day had turned to night, causing a gentle glow over the hill. It was a gorgeous sunset that had dissipated into the cold eerie darkness. Will got out of the car and a dog followed him, making you raise an eyebrow.
“Who’s this?” you asked. He smiled up at you although he couldn’t hide the haunted look behind his eyes. Today he had seen things he wanted to unsee.
“Winston.”
“Hi Winston.” You kneeled down to greet the dog. “I made some pasta. Let’s eat and then we can clean Winston up.” Will nodded and pet the dog, walking inside with you. “How was Elise Nichols’?” you asked, referring to the victim.
“Dead in her bed.”
“You saw her?”
“Yup.” You knew better than to push it so you handed him his plate. He started to eat right away. “I don’t understand this guy. He doesn’t want these girls to suffer. He kills them quickly and, to his thinking, with mercy,” he explained. You nodded, going towards your plate. Winston had taken to smelling the house, getting used to his surroundings.
“A sympathetic killer?”
“But a precise one.”
“Are you going to help Jack out with this guy?” Will looked up at you, stabbing his fork into the plate. It didn’t startle you but the action was uncharacteristically violent.
“I think I have to,” he said, voice quiet. You swallowed hard. There was no point in continuing a losing argument tonight.
You finished the food quickly and gave Winston a bath together, throwing some water at each other in the process. Will felt safe with you. He felt like he could wind down and be himself. He had only ever known stability with you. Everyone else seemed so fleeting in his memory, never a safe place to rest his head. You handed him a beer, your t-shirt drenched in water from Winston, knees on the porch wood. He had never known the peace these simple moments gave him.
He fell asleep early that night but woke up with a start, the memory of Elise Nichols haunting his dreams. You woke up quickly too but didn’t raise your head immediately. Will leaned off of the bed and you watched him as he took off his shirt, tossing it to the ground, clearly drenched in sweat. He tugged off his pants as well and then returned to the bed, facing you. You met his eyes wordlessly and you leaned forward, kissing his nose gently.
You gave him the bulk of the blankets. He cuddled into them before both of you fell back into sleep.
-
The next day you woke up before Will. It was a rare occurrence but you were glad to see him still sleeping when you left the shower, kissing him on the forehead as you left. You had to be at Hannibal’s office earlier, despite it being a slow day. You had paperwork to catch up on. The work was tedious but you liked Hannibal enough. In fact you thought he was quite an interesting guy.
Eventually around mid day you saw the door open to the exit for patients. You stood up, about to snap about how that was the exit and not a waiting room when you noticed it was Jack.
“Over this way Jack, Hannibal will get annoyed if you aren’t on this side,” you told him. He looked like a lost puppy, completely out of his element. You found yourself happy to have the upper hand over him here. He looked like a man who needed to be humbled more often than he was. He nodded and walked over to you and your desk.
“I didn’t think you were serious when you said you worked as a secretary.”
“Just while I try to find a good job in the FBI. Hannibal pays well,” you joked dryly. The back door opened and there was a small conversation with Franklyn before shutting the door again, disappearing without you even seeing his face.
“If this goes well I can try and find you a coffee job,” he teased. You laughed, though your heart wasn’t in it. You observed the man skeptical but tried not to make it obvious.
“If you decide to exploit my boyfriend I think I deserve at least a donut run job.”
The door opened in the waiting room and Hannibal's eyes went wide at the new visitor. You stood up.
“Who is this?” Hannibal asked.
“Jack Crawford of the FBI,” you said.
“Your secretary said you might be able to help me out.” He nodded and gestured for Jack to enter.
“You’re welcome to leave Y/N. I’ve got the rest of the day handled and you came in far too early.” You nodded and grabbed your bag.
“I hope it all goes well,” you said before the door shut behind Jack.
-
At work the next day Will was sitting at Jack's desk, watching the board of unmoving likely dead pictures of the women.
“Tell me then, how many confessions?” Hannibal asked.
“Twelve dozen last time I checked. None of them knew details. Until this morning. Then everyone knew details. Some genius in Duluth PD took a picture of Elise Nichols’ body with their phone and shared it with a few close friends. Freddy Lounds ran it on Tattlecrime.com,” Jack explained.
“Tasteless,” Will said.
“Do you have a problem with taste?” Hannibal inquired.
“My thoughts are often not tasty.”
“Y/N never brought that up,” Hannibal said, prying at the fact that you actually never brought up your life with Will. More impressively, you never mentioned what he actually did for work. If you had, Hannibal might have taken more interest in running your background.
“I keep forgetting she works for you. Small world,” Will said. Hannibal nodded, emotions guarded.
“Indeed.”
-
The next day later there was a harsh rasp on the door that woke both you and Will up. You let Will walk to the door as you fell back onto the bed. In your sleepy haze, you assumed one of the dogs needed to go out. In your daze you recognized a foreign voice at the front of the house. You sat up, taking a moment to place it. Then you crawled yourself out of bed and walked into the kitchen where Will and Hannibal sat at the table.
“Good morning,” you chuckled. You tugged down at Will’s shirt that you were wearing. You had on shorts but it felt revealing in front of Hannibal, no matter how comfortable you were with him. He was wearing a suit jacket and a nice dress shirt.
“I brought you a container as well,” Hannibal said, gesturing to a plastic tupperware on the table. Will was already sitting, eating from his. How long had it taken you to get up? “That was assuming you lived together, though I wasn’t sure,” Hannibal said, handing you the tupperware with breakfast food. You were starving, having skipped out on dinner last night.
“Thank you,” you said, quietly. “How did you find out where he lived?”
“Tricks of the trade.” You narrowed your eyes. If you were any more awake you would have questioned that. Alas, you just pulled up a chair and sat with them.
“Will’s told you about this cop cat killer?”
“Yes, yesterday. Interesting isn’t it?” Will pursed his lips.
“Not too interesting, considering the dead girl is considered as much as a pig.” You took a bite of your breakfast scramble.
“This is really good,” you said.
“Delicious,” Will countered.
“My pleasure,” Hannibal said. “I would apologize for my analytical ambush but I know I will soon be apologizing again and you’ll tire of that eventually so I have to consider using apologies sparingly.”
“Just keep it professional. Between all of us,” Will said.
“Or we could socialize like adults, god forbid we become friendly,” Hannibal countered.
“I don’t find you that interesting,” Will deadpanned. You nudged him underneath the table but Hannibal didn’t seem to mind.
“You will.”
It felt oddly right having your boss and boyfriend sit together at the same table. Like they were destined to know each other in some capacity. You took another bite of your breakfast scramble and watched them curiously, watching as they glanced from each other to you.
An unlikely trio.
-
Hannibal gave you the day off and so you spent it at home, studying old case tactics while they went to see about some suspects at construction sites.
By the time you looked up you had seven missed calls from Will and two from Jack. You called Jack first, getting up and throwing on some clothes, prepared for the worst.
“Is Will with you?” Jack asked. Your heart started to beat quicker, unsure of how you had lost track of time. A long exasperated sigh left your lips as you spoke.
“You said you wouldn’t let him get too close.”
-
You arrived at the hospital and were directed to a room with one Abigail Hobbs. Hannibal was standing out front, the only person in the room. You walked up to him quickly.
“What happened?”
“Garrett Jacob Hobbs was the killer. And Will killed him.” Your eyes went wide and your breath hitched.. You had sparsely heard details of the case. Will tended to share only what he had to to keep his mind flowing.
“Where is he?” you questioned urgently.
“Getting a change of clothes.” You nodded curtly and started to walk away when Hannibal pulled you back. You stared at his eyes and he stared at yours, watching curiously as the emotions flashed through them. Worry for Will, maybe some confusion, a haven for genuine human emotions.
“It was necessary,” he promised. You shook your arm away from him.
“He wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t,” you said, voice cold.
You walked away. You found Will in one of the back rooms where he was half dressed. He walked over to you, no shirt on and the one he was about to put on discarded. He threw his arms around you and you did the same, holding him closely.
“I-” He started.
“It’s okay.”
He shook under your touch and you wondered, silently, if it was ever going to be okay again.

11x06 stream of consciousness
Run run run runrunrunrun
I do think it's funny that Aaron and Carol are constantly disagreeing on like everything lol
Aw Kelly :(
Connie is really so beautiful aw the cave must have been so scary :(
Ew what the FUCK God. Oh no daryl aw :( lol wait did pope have the little wax curled tips at the end before bc that's rly fuckin funny
Daryl ilu what the FUCK omfg also I love frost on the simple fact that he is smart enough to understand wtf to say and do and not sell Daryl out even after extreme torture
Aw Connie she's just got a face that makes you want to hug her, poor girl. I wonder why the eyes r scratched out... Virgil you didn't do a great job it seems. Altho that doesn't surprise me t b h
Didn't pope say 3? Hmm. Daryl is so fuckin smart GOD I love him
Aw dead horse :( KELLY!!!!!!!!!!! CONNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!!!
Of all the people to be trapped in a house w virgil is like bottom 5 characters I'd choose. Ugh oh God ugh ugh this is so scary like a horror movie. Ew what the FUCK oh my god ew I don't like that guy one bit
Ugh carver is such a weenie. I'm gonna freak if/when they find them...
#girlgang back in business HELL yes
Honestly if I were Connie I'd just stay at the top of the staircase for the rest of my life. Yeah see cause then I wouldn't be walking into a roomful of dead people leftovers and crawling thru the vents. She's like one trillion times braver than me. Aw poor girl I wanna cry I feel so bad for her
Uh OK how many people did Virgil miss when he swept the house bc 1 creepy pale naked guy hiding in the walls is excusable but more than that seems a little more like he's just not very good at finding (strangely ripped?) cannibals (like why are they so strong? They don't get any vitamin d and they survive exclusively on human flesh and it looks like it's been a hot minute since they had a meal
Awwww carver is a protective big brother and doesn't want lil sis to get back together with the boyfriend that never really loved her. Aw Daryl omfg my heart God it hurts it really does my poor baby boy he is SO! SMART! and Leah will fall for it hook line sinker she already is (delicious)
Tbh I hope Connie and Virgil aren't being followed and Connie is just hyper paranoid about the whisperers bc I can't take yet another new villain getting even half an episode
Ew I rly hope ppl don't start shipping Connie and Virgil just bc they touched hands bc I'm still not sold on him even a tiny bit. What is with this weird creepy murder eating house? Why aren't all the hungry cannibals eating each other? Oh dear. Don't think Virgil is gonna make it. Fine by me tbh.
Oh God Connie you are so smart wow at first I was like are the cannibals blind but then nope turns out they were at the front door
Ahhhhhh AHHHHHH OH MY GOD !!!! that's it I'm crying omfg aw oh my god oh my god holy wow oh my god the music ugh I love them sisters 5ever
I think we're supposed to think frost sold Daryl out but I don't think that happened tbh
Okay THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT this was a good episode like last season worthy and plot worthy and interesting YES!
