Going off the Ingo and Emmet had a big fight before Ingo gets ebbie debbied.
I can only imagine how Spice would feel about this. Like they try to psychologically torment Ingo who only as fragments of memories, at best, of who he was and the people in his life. Spice fails, ends up being the warden's partner, and worst of all ends up having an emotional attachment with this man. Spice won't admit it, but he's come to like the strange human.
Fast forward and Ingo get undebbied from the past. Spice and the other pokemon follow cause they care deeply for Ingo and don't want him to be on his own like he was in Hisui. A wacky adventure begins and everything really looks hopeful from here on out.
And then they find Emmet and then it all goes south. Spice (in his Zoroark form) and the rest wait out as the brothers talk, until they can hear yelling. They hear the slamming of a door open and see Ingo yelling at Emmet to just listen to him, but before he can finish Emmet pushes Ingo to the ground.
All hell breaks loose. The other pokemon react but Spice is faster. He gets in-between Emmet and Ingo putting some space between the two, and while facing Emmet, he transforms. Emmet now faces himself but this him is not smiling and his eyes are full of scorn.

When you were younger, you had a crush on two boys.
The type of crush that left people with heat stuck in their cheeks and eyes casted down at the ground. The type of crush that left people like you stammering and stuttering and trying too awfully hard to look cool yet cute in every moment they’re in view. But they grew up. So did you. Though those feelings you had for the now-grown men didn’t completely disappear. You’re not even sure if they lessened enough for you to no longer feel embarrassed about it all.
But for the longest time, you just didn’t get what you saw in both of them. After all, you thought that they couldn’t be any more different from each other aside from their shared strong will. So what made you like them still after all these years? What made you linger around like a ghost- hoping and hoping for the one who sees you. Despite knowing they would never see you as you’ve always seen them. Someone to love. Someone to adore. Someone to hold tight and want to protect for as long as they live. But that’s the thing.
“You’re getting so good at this, aren’t you sweetheart?”
You only thought you knew that.
“Mmm,” You make a quiet hum with the back of your throat as you look up at one of the men before you. “Mmm…”
You always thought of Miles Edgeworth as a gentleman- even when you both just attending grade school. You thought of him as refined and forever poised- even in the trickiest of situations. And now, you’d admit that some of that holds true. He’s still oh-so gentle as he cards his fingers through your hair and keeps the loose strands out of the way. He’s still oh-so kind as he looks at you with eyes that hold emotions so far away from disgust and malice that you could easily forget if you wanted to. If you tried. But most of all? He’s still oh-so-sweet in the way he calls on you- insisting on sweetheart even as you wrap your lips around his dick and suck him off while free hand focuses on his rival.
“I could have told you that,” A voice from your side grumbles. Some that have your heart thumping out of your chest and shivers running down your spine at the exact same time. It’s the same Phoenix Wright that you’ve always been smitten with. Though it’s admittedly more charming now that you’re able to hear him talking so casually. Without stress about investigations. Without drama from court cases. None of that stuff. Although… “And quit hogging! It was my turn to get sucked off ages ago!”
You suppose nothing can be quite drama-free with those two. But you suppose it’s your fault, isn’t it? It started with you getting a little bold one night. A little brave. Then suddenly, you’re writing love letters. Love confession with the hearts and the secrets and the obvious embarrassment dripping from every single word. But this running off of a courageous high (or rather, a steep amount of liquid courage), and suddenly yourself with new emails in your outgoing mail folder. And two emails in your ingoing mail folder- each agreeing to the time and the place that drunken you had asked to meet.
Truthfully, you don’t remember how exactly your confession went. Maybe you blocked it all from memory. Maybe you didn’t. But whatever happened must have been a good thing between all three of you.
Because why else would Phoenix be wrapping his hand around your neck and pulling you off of his rival’s cock all so he could lead you and your puckered lips toward his?
“Pay attention to me too, okay?” He reminds you gently as he gives you a big smile. Instantly, you’re enamored again now that he’s the boy with your most direct attention (even though Miles’ huff is very clearly an attempt to get your eyes back off him). But Phoenix doesn’t pay him any mind- instead, he’s too busy pushing your head closer and closer to him as his free hand holds his fully erect cock out for your to slide into your throat. “I’m willing to share but you can’t forget about me, alright?”
You’re barely registering his words. Just giving him a simple nod before your back up and sitting on your knees and wrapping your lips around the pretty dick in front of you. It stands tall and proud in front of you with quite a few noticeable veins decorating it in its entirety. A small bead of precum has been spilling from the top. But you don’t waste another second on dumb thoughts and inaction. Instead, you’re flattening your tongue and taking the thing into your mouth easily. Completely. Happily.
The salty taste hits your goosebumps a second later, but Phoenix is quick to ease you into taking his entire length all at once. He coaches you into breathing the way he knows you should, and you focus on relaxing your mouth the same way you did for Miles so he slides right in with little resistance. But Phoenix is thicker than Miles. Not as long, but much much thicker. And so the instant you feel him start to fill up your mouth in a way that feels like too much at once, you cough. Just a little.
Even so, it’s still enough to get Miles to hurry out a call of “Be careful” to the other man, much to his displeasure. But it’s not your first. It’s far from it and everyone in the room knows that by now. So you’re quick to right things yourself. To adjust so that you mouth things about fitting Phoenix inside rather than Miles. And all too soon, you’re bobbing your head up and down and up and down and up and down. Letting it glide through your warm, wet throat as the man you’re sucking off balls his hands into tight fists and leans back into his chair.
“Fuck, that’s good,” Phoenix all but groans as he closes his eyes and tosses his head back. His voice is much lower than what you’re used to. Softer. Quieted. More controlled even. Not that you really mind it though. As much as you love your Phoenix- the one who’s bright and loud and only just a little dumb at times- you like the way you’re making him come undone like this. Making him count his every breath. Making him rise out of his chair and curse under his breath. Making him feel good. All because of you. All because of you. “Keep going- keep sucking like that. And- and do that thing with your tongue again. Okay, baby?”
Your heart melts at the nickname. Baby. You’re so soft for these two it’s ridiculous. But perhaps it’s more ridiculous how soft they are for you. How willing they are for you. Most men would hate sharing a lover. And yet, here comes Miles- reaching over and pulling back your hair again so you can continue focusing on running your tongue against every vein on Phoenix’s dick again and again and again.
And sometime later, you’ll start stroking Miles’ cock again, not wanting him to lose the pretty hard-on he brought out just for you. Pumping your fist up and down and up and down- in time with the way you bod your head on the other man’s cock. But pretty soon all of Miles’ sweet little compliments will draw your attention away. Pretty soon, you’re pulling your mouth off of Phoenix’s dick and wrapping your lips around Miles’ once more- pulling out all the moves you know he likes. Playing a little with his balls. Sucking a little extra hard on the head. And looking up at him through your eyelashes all pretty like when he started mumbling all kinds of selfish yet adoring words towards you.
And at some point, the other man in the room is going to feel content will sitting and watching anymore. At some point, he’s gonna want a hand or a mouth or that pretty little hole that’s been hiding between your legs all this time. At some point, he’s gonna want to make you do the squirming. Just like your other lover is gonna want to make you squeal and feel good. Feel oh-so ridiculously good. But he can wait. They both know how to wait at this point. And frankly, you do too.
Because you waited so many years to confess. You waited so many years to know if they liked you back. And you waited so many years before realizing that the answer had to be both or absolutely nothing at all. But they’ve made their decision. And you’ve made yours.
You know they know how to wait their turn. You know they know how to play nice. How to share. And you know they know how to do that with each other. Because you were there when they learned those things. And if they refuse to do it now?
Well, you’ll just have to show them how it’s done.

Casting Pearls Before Time - Ch 2
A bit of a shorter chapter this time but its for worldbuilding purposes I prommy
Six months after suddenly reappearing, Ingo encounters someone he thinks he remembers. Only problem is, he can't remember anything before he returned to Unova, so it's hard to say
Words: ~1300
“So, who did you say she was again?” Elesa walked alongside the twins as they made their march back to their apartment, telling their adoptive sister everything that had happened the night prior. As soon as she had gotten off work, the twins had gone to collect her and bring her over. Pearl had opted not to leave, not just yet. Figuring there was nowhere for her to go, they had shrugged and Emmet had left some joltik in charge.
“She cannot remember her name, so we have taken to calling her Pearl. She does not speak Galarian either, however, I seem to be able to understand the language she speaks. It was the one I spoke upon my arrival here. I recall her dimly from my last terminal, but nothing else has come to mind yet.” Ingo opened the door to their apartment complex and they climbed up the stairs.
“What language is it?” Elesa sipped on her iced coffee. How she was drinking that as the weather cooled, Emmet had no idea.
“We are unsure,” Emmet said. Elesa stopped for a moment, watching in silence as the younger twin unlocked the door.
“You haven’t checked?”
Both silver heads turned to her, even as Emmet turned the knob. “No?” Ingo asked. “How are we meant to? Neither of us is well-acquainted with all languages-”
“Oh my dragons, you two. Emmet, you’ve had the internet for years.” She sighed and crossed the threshold before the other two. “Leave it to me. Where is this guest of yours?”
Ingo called out first, in that foreign language again. A soft voice came in reply. The bathroom door swung open and there stood Pearl, still wearing the same thing she’d had on last night when they’d found her. She cocked her head at Elesa and smiled, waving shyly. “Oh she’s a cutie,” Elesa gushed. “Like a little baby Happiny. How old is she? She looks so young, she’s adorable.”
“I will tell Skyla about this. She’d be so jealous,” Emmet teased.
Elesa stuck her tongue out at him. “Not in that way, nerd. Besides, I never get attached like that before confirming their age is close to mine. Does she know who I am in regards to you two?”
Ingo began to speak to Pearl in rapid-fire sentences, gesturing to Elesa. She nodded and made some noise of understanding. “She does now. I have informed her that you are our sister.”
“Basically, yeah.” She pulled up an app on her phone. Emmet peeked over her shoulder.
“What’s that?” he asked her.
“Here.” She tapped the button in the middle. She looked up at the girl and smiled, opening and closing her hand a few times to imitate a mouth and then pointing to the phone. She held the device out to the girl, who looked at it like it might explode.
She spoke into it, a quick phrase that sounded like a question. The app loaded for a second, before it spit out words in an understandable language to Emmet.
“[WHAT IS DEVICE?]” the phone blared in a vaguely feminine voice.
Elesa read the screen. Her eyes narrowed. “It seems she’s speaking some form of Sinnohan, though the app is having trouble being able to tell which one. It might need to be updated.”
“Can you ask her? Maybe she could tell you.” Emmet asked enthusiastically.
“If she can’t remember her name, how is she supposed to remember what form of Sinnohan she’s speaking?” Ingo pointed out.
Emmet shrugged. “Never know until you try. Maybe just ask where she’s from? Or how old is she?”  Elesa tapped on the microphone icon and spoke into the phone, asking the question in Galarian.
The phone responded in Sinnohan. Pearl looked at the device funny as she answered slowly.
[I KNOW DO NOT. I HAVE NINETEEN YEAR OLD.]
“It seems to be having trouble with her dialect,” Ingo said. “I can understand what she’s saying perfectly, her version is the one I understand better.”
“Then you must be from wherever she’s from. Hmm…” Elesa fiddled with her phone before shutting it off. “It seems like that isn’t working well…” She paced around, mulling it over in her head. Emmet could practically see the gears turning in her brain.
“Is there anything else we can try?” Ingo asked. “I could translate for now. I feel that the device is rather undignified and it dumbs down her method of speech. And it cannot have a proper conversation.” He swiped at his own Xtrans. “And it appears to be getting to about lunchtime. Perhaps we can postpone this discussion for now.”
It was not hard to convince the others as they began to come up with ideas for food.
—--------------
Pearl looked up at the buildings around her with the same wonder as Ingo had when he’d first reappeared in Nimbasa - as though she’d never seen them before. Tall skyscrapers and apartment complexes rising from each street corner, extending into the sky like multicolored fingers gripping for the clouds. There were a few times they had to call out to her to keep up with them.
And the pokemon. Everytime she looked away from the buildings long enough, she was shocked by the pokemon. Emmet did not need to talk to her to recognize that she was simultaneously fascinated and frightened by the creatures. Whether a Lillipup or a Zweilous, she gave all pokemon a wide berth and did her best to tag close to the group.
“So now that we’ve eaten something, what’s the plan?” Elesa shut the door behind them and took off her scarf, hanging it on a hook. Emmet and Ingo hung their hats on their respective hooks and shrugged.
“No idea,” Emmet said. Ingo didn’t offer anything, either.
“Well, I’ve been thinking,” Elesa started as she sat down on the couch, “I don’t know of any linguists nearby, but I do know someone from Sinnoh. Clay’s family immigrated to Unova from there and he knows some family stuff and speaks some of the language. I can see if maybe he’d know something about her or the Sinnoh language. In the meantime, she can stay here and maybe learn some Galarian. Or we can learn some of that other language. I’d just like to be able to talk to Pearl.”
The mentioned girl was currently sitting at the table, staring out the window. Elesa had lent her some clothes, as with autumn coming, her normal clothes would not be warm enough. Funny enough, when Ingo had asked Pearl if she’d like something warmer, she’d said she was already balming as it was, but had still taken the clothes so that she could fit in a little better with the crowd.
"That seems as good a place to start as any," Ingo mused. "I wonder, however… I was found in Sinnoh. Pearl speaks some form of Sinnohan. But I distinctly remember being in Hisui…" He rubbed his chin. "Seeing her, I can almost remember other things, they are just barely out of reach. I remember… a pokemon, with purple fur, that stood like a human. Long claws. And I remember white. Lots of white…"
"Do not strain yourself," Emmet tutted. "You will give yourself a migraine."
"Yes, yes…" Ingo seemed a thousand miles away.
"I can get an audience with Clay tomorrow," Elesa said. "In the meantime, I'd say let's try to learn some words of Pearl's language. Ingo can teach us."
"Would it not make sense for her to learn Galarian?"
"Yeah," Elesa admitted, "but it feels… wrong to force that on her, you know? She's already lost and alone. Why take the last thing she has from her?" Emmet sensed there was something else to it. He glanced at Ingo, still lost in thought. He gestured to his brother and raised an eyebrow. Elesa nodded, not meeting his eyes.
Emmet nodded. That made sense.

Reuniting, Better Late Than Never
Chapter 1
What if Legends Arceus didn't take place as far back as we thought? What if a few of the younger characters are still alive? This is just me wanting Dawn and Ingo to get the chance to reunite with a few of their friends once they've come back to present day.
(Chapter 2 can be found here, and there's a link to the Ao3 page for it in one of my reblogs in the tags.)
Words: 1,644
Rating: PG (ask to tag)
Rei stood in the kitchen of his small home, preparing some tea for himself. The small Purugly that he now had as a pet purred as she rubbed her head against his leg.
He chuckled and scratched behind her ears, then made his way back to the living room with his teacup. His old partner Pikachu - eventually Raichu once he evolved - had passed on many years ago. He has since retired from battling, so this Purugly was simply here to keep him company.
Together, he and Purugly sat down on his couch and turned on the TV, although it was more to provide background noise, since he didn't really feel like watching anything in particular. The news was on and he just barely paid enough attention to hear as the anchorman went on again about how the champion of Sinnoh had finally returned just a few days ago. He couldn't help but smile a little to himself at that.
Some time passed, and he was just about to doze on the couch after having finished his tea. Purugly was purring contently on his lap, and as long as he wasn't expecting a call from his granddaughter, this was the perfect time for a nap. However, life had other plans for him apparently. There was a loud, anxious knock on the door. Rei groaned and his Purugly let out a low, annoyed meow.
"It's unlocked! Come on in!" he called.
The door opened and his great-granddaughter came storming in, followed by her mother, his granddaughter.
"Dawn, I'm so glad to see you're back home and safe! Your mother called me in tears just the other day saying you finally came home, and I was wondering when you'd come visit your old great-grandpa," Rei said cheerfully.
Dawn stared at him with a look Rei had never seen on her face before. It was a mix of recognition, relief, and some other emotion he couldn't quite read, and her eyes were wet with unshed tears. She wasn't looking at him as her great-grandpa. She was seeing him as someone else.
"Rei..... you're alive!" Dawn cried out.
She then ran forward and launched herself at him. Purugly luckily moved just in time so she wouldn't get squished as Rei caught Dawn in his arms. She hugged him tightly as she buried her face on his shoulder. He smiled as he gently rubbed her back.
"So, you finally realized who I am. It's good to see you again, Dawn."
It was certainly strange. He had watched this girl grow up since the time she was born. He had watched her toddle around as an infant, play in his yard as a child, go to school, and go on her pokemon journey once she had finally come of age. This was his great-granddaughter after all. But this was also his best friend. The girl he could remember following the professor into the village for the first time after having fallen from the sky. He had taught her how to catch pokemon and craft pokeballs, and she taught him how to bond more with his partner Pikachu. They worked together to create the region's first PokeDex. And he could still remember the day she left with that Pearl Clan warden.
"Rei?" Rei looked up at the sound of his name. The voice was so familiar despite not having heard it for decades. Standing in the doorway just behind Johanna, was Ingo.
"Warden Ingo, it's been a while," Rei said.
Ingo made his way into the house, probably taking in his appearance. To be fair, to Dawn and Ingo, he had still been just a teenager the last they had seen him. And now here he was as an old man. The change must be a bit jarring.
Ingo awkwardly sat down on the couch beside Rei, while Dawn still held on to him tightly. Rei couldn't help but chuckle a little at how the former warden hadn't changed a bit since he last saw him.
"I can't believe you're still alive," Ingo muttered, uncharacteristically quiet.
"Ha! You're telling me," Rei laughed. "I'm 105 years old and I'm still somehow kicking."
"105 years old?" Ingo's eyes widened. "So it's been..."
"90 years, yeah," Rei finished for him. "It's been quite a while since I last saw you. So, why are you still here in Sinnoh? Or do you live here too?"
"I still don't remember where I live," Ingo explained. "I'm still working on getting my memories back. Until then, Johanna has been kind enough to let me stay with her and Dawn."
"It's the least I could do for you after you helped bring Dawn back," Johanna said as she took a seat on the couch beside Ingo. "And Grandpa, you really were right. Dawn found a way home just like you said."
"Well, I told you I remembered her leaving to return home. I've just been waiting to see when Dawn would realize who I was after she got back."
At this, Dawn looked up at Rei. Her face was covered in tears and her shoulders still shook with repressed sobs.
"I-I can't believe you're m-my great-grandpa!" she cried. "My great-grandpa is my best friend!"
"And my great-granddaughter is my best friend and the hero of Hisui," Rei chuckled. "I've been waiting for the day that I'd get to see you again like this."
Dawn wiped at her face with her sleeve, then moved so she could sit beside him and not on his lap. He still kept an arm around her though.
"S-so... you knew I would get sent to Hisui?" Dawn asked.
"Yes, I did," Rei admitted with a sigh. "And I'm sorry I didn't warn you or prepare you more for it. I didn't want to risk altering the timeline, if that was even possible. As I watched you get older and you grew closer and closer to the young girl I befriended in Hisui, I knew that you were the Dawn I knew back then. Especially after you showed you had the strength to take down Team Galactic and beat Champion Cynthia, I knew where you would be heading eventually. Then your mother called me in a panic some months ago, crying about how you had disappeared. I called her over and explained what was going on. And Johanna, sweetheart, I'm sorry I couldn't have warned you better either."
His granddaughter had been so mad at the time for him keeping Dawn's disappearance a secret. She had yelled at him about how he could've at least said something about it, even just to warn them so they could be prepared for it. But he had been too scared to change the course of history to risk saying anything.
"It's okay, you've already apologized," Johanna said. "I know you didn't want to change things. I'm just glad you filled me in once it happened."
Rei nodded to her, then turned back to Dawn.
"When I heard from your mother that you were back, I told her not to say anything about me. Not until you asked or brought up my name," he explained. "I'm glad it didn't take you too long. I was starting to get impatient after waiting for nine decades." He chuckled, which got a small smile out of Dawn.
"I'm so glad you're still alive," she said. "When I knew that I'd be going back to my time, I thought for sure that... that..."
"That everyone we knew would be long gone," Ingo finished for her. "It really is nice to see that at least one familiar face is still here."
"While most everyone we knew then has passed on, I'm not the only one still alive," Rei said. This got both Dawn and Ingo to sit up a little straighter.
"Who? Who else is alive?" Dawn asked quickly.
"I haven't spoken or written to them in a while, but Lian is still around in Oreburgh City, and Sabi lives up in Snowpoint City. I could give them a call or you could go see them yourselves."
"Lian is still alive?" Ingo asked. His eyes were wide with hope, eager to see the last other living member of his clan.
"He is. Oreburgh isn't too far from here. I'm sure he'd love to see you again."
"And you said Sabi is up in Snowpoint? We could easily fly up there!" Dawn said eagerly. "We have to go see them both and let them know we made it back home!"
"Heh, always on the move, aren't you?" Rei chuckled as he ruffled Dawn's hair. She puffed out her cheeks in annoyance and quickly fixed her hair and adjusted her bandana.
"We can go out to Oreburgh tomorrow, how about that?" Johanna suggested. "Then we can go to Snowpoint a day or two after that."
"Okay!" Dawn nodded determinedly. "But for now, you have to tell me what all we missed in the last 90 years. Did Professor Laventon do more work other than the PokeDex? Did Kamado really disband the Galaxy Team before Cyrus took over?"
"And how was Zisu? She was always such a great sparring partner. Did she continue to work with up and coming trainers?" Ingo added. "And do you know about anyone from the Pearl and Diamond clans?"
"Heh, one question at a time," Rei laughed. "Hold on, I think you both might want to see some of what I've got too."
With a slight grunt and the assistance of his cane, Rei stood up from the couch and walked over to his bookshelf. He looked around for only a moment before his eyes landed on a thick photo album. He grabbed it, then returned to his spot on the couch between Dawn and Ingo.
"I have some photos of everyone over the years. Thought you might like to see them."

Hi hi!!! You know i was wondering for the Papa ingo au, when Kamado told Akari was her fault the sky went red and all that and she did the walk of shame been scorted out of the village made me wonder.... did all the kids do that too?!?!??! Like imagine hiw hard would be for them! If for a 15 years old Akari was hard imagine for younger kids how it would feel?!?!? Like everyone looked at you like you did something wrong!! No one tondefend you nor your parents no one!! Yeah Cyllene Rei and Laventon making sure everyone is ok but still...
In case that didnt happend because i was also thinking that, since they were sent to Ingo from Kamado orders, maybe Ingo told them after he heards the news of Akari exile that they shouldnt come near the village.. idk man so many scenarios i am thinking, everyone were like "oknyeah better not get closer to that but we need to find Akari" all those kids idk doing secret base investigation to know where she is becuase they are desesperate to help Ingo or help her, maybe the older kids will try to do that
Also!!! Remember when you have to battle Beni?! Like he was and i quote "time to got rid of you once and for all" and "i'll make myself plain. As Kamado's right hand, i'm Charged with executing all the gritty deeds Kamado can't or won't do himself" like idk if someone talked about this before but can you imagine if Beni also tried to get rid of the kids?!?!?! While (because i saw injure ingo and kids taking care of him haha) Ingo was hurt and cpuldnt protect them?!?!? Like this kids had to join forced and do multiple battle with beni have to trow all their pokemon to do in their tiny lil hands to survive the battle aginst Beni!
Like think about it, if he only did the exile to Akari people wont view him as "the commander that exile the 15 year old girl and her lil kid friends" is like he knew or something to better send of those kids to ingo so he wouldnt have to deal with that problem, amd in case Beni actually fought the kids, when they returned to the village they would be kinda afraid of him or something idk man! I dont try to make beni or kamado evil becuase i know why they did all of that but still both Akari the kids and ingo would be very hurt that i feel would take time for everyone (the kids) to heal and trust them (Beni and Kamado) again, unless something more happened yeah maybe more actions than words but yeah i was thinking about that haha
I didn’t really think about this!! I’m assuming Kamado kicks out everyone, yes, but he might be harshest with the kids who were all survey corps members along with Akari. He strips all of their badges from them and sends all of them out. Kids in the village who aren’t survey corps members, but are doing things like helping at the dojo, or the farming fields, or the pokemon pasture, or the shops, all get orders to be sent out as well.
Kids outside the village, on supplies hunts, or Pokémon observations, don’t know immediately, will learn either by being barred from entering, or told by word of mouth from Ingo or the other kids who were sent out.
All of them are upset; some are sad, while others feel angered, naturally.
And oh man, I didn’t even consider Beni! You’re right, he did sort of set himself up to take you out :( no way he could manage taking on all of the kids at once, but would he go after kids who go too close to the village and just simply try to keep them away? But I’m sure he worked with some of the kids if they ever helped him at the wallflower, and that’s so sad to think about, Beni noooo ;-;
That would be tough! :(

A small sigh left him as he looked behind from his seat at the desk in Emmet’s room when he heard the light snoring and evened out breathing. The mobile game up on Emmet’s phone still lighting up the mostly dark room, aside from the dim desk lamp.
Emmet always fell asleep first-- Even when they were young and still living with their parents. Though it was probably when the poor sleeping habits began. When their parents decided that all the blame should be shoved onto Emmet just for being born. That he was the one who ruined their perfect family. Even if his parents tried to convince him Emmet was holding him back, the bad seed of the family, Ingo still loved Emmet more than anything. And the more their parents tried to convince him otherwise his affection for Emmet just grew. If their parents didn't love him then he would have to love his brother more than if they had. Every person that said they hated him-- People who should of loved him. He’d love and care for him enough for all those people combined. All the love that he should of received.
He deserved that much. If not more.
They both had their quirks and issues but Ingo’s were always blamed on Emmet. If he didn't get a perfect score or got hurt playing at the park it was Emmet who was yelled at and blamed. It didn’t matter how much Ingo tried to protest. He didn’t study because he couldn't focus not because his twin was trying to distract him. Maybe he didn't understand the way the teacher explained it, or was too busy thinking about Pokémon and trains. A show he wanted to watch-- But no it had to be Emmet’s fault. It took years for him to actually understand that they just didn’t want twins. They wanted a perfect little family and just because Emmet was born second he was hated. Outcaste by his family. If Ingo had been born second would they hate him?
There were times when he tried to convince Emmet to just become him and he would be Emmet. Just so he wouldn't suffer-- Occasionally he was able to take blame in his place, their parents not paying enough attention to them both to even fully tell them apart. But at the end of the day Emmet refused to fully take Ingo’s place, saying it wouldn't be fair.
Not that they ever didn’t provide basic necessities for him but at home there was always some sort of fighting, if it could even be called that. How could a small child fight back against the two people who were supposed to love him unconditionally? The occasional threat they’d pawn him off to some family member across the region. The only thing that actually probably kept them from doing such was that he made sure his parents knew he’d run away if they sent Emmet away. They either got both of them or neither of them.
It didn’t matter how true those words and threats were it was always too much for small children to handle. And it usually left his younger brother crying himself to sleep. And as the sole person who cared about Emmet at all he stayed up and comforted him, petting his head and promising they’d never be torn apart. And as they grew up that fear only built up more and more in him. Opting to make sure he didn’t fall asleep until their parents had long since gone to bed. They wouldn't be able to take Emmet away in the night. Which from an outside perspective might have been insane but it felt very possible. The paranoia of that might have been due to his increasing lack of sleep. Staying up hours past Emmet while still needing to wake up just as early each day.
But it was worth it. If it brought some sort of peace to him then it was fine by him. Emmet deserved to at least sleep comfortably.
Even when they left on their short Pokémon journey allowed by their parents, with the hope they would fail and follow the path they had written out for them (Mostly Ingo). Ingo still stayed up watching over his sibling. There was no soft weeping as they laid on the grass for the first time since he could remember. Miles away from anywhere their parents could find them, far out of their reach. Yet he still felt compelled to keep watch until the other was fast asleep. A habit carved into him by their sorry excuse for parents, but in a way he didn’t mind the outcome. He could be useful and be a strong older brother because of it.
The calm look on his twin’s face now at least set it in his mind that they wouldn't be staying long when they returned by the promised date. They’d succeed there was no if-- they had to. The two of them would grow stronger with Litwick and Tynamo and become and unstoppable team. Maybe a hope in the back of his mind that their parents would finally be proud of Emmet-- Be happy that they both found something they loved to do and were passionate about. Something that could hold their focus. Well-- something aside of trains. And if not-- They’d have one another. He’d protect his sibling just like he always had.
---
Ingo hadn't even realized how far he had let his mind wander, memories that he had figured would not be returning to him anytime soon flooding back to him. They were things mentioned to him by Emmet when he asked about their childhood but those were just explanation-- Those weren’t his memories but finally he was regaining his own. There was the urge to shake him awake and tell him all the things he remembered, no matter how sad and painful they were. They were important to him. To both of them.
Instead he opted to turning off the desk lamp, and pushing himself out of the chair to go lay down next to his brother. A hand reaching out to gently run through his sibling’s hair and pet his head much like he did when they were kids and before his fall. He couldn't help but wonder if Emmet missed this. Sure he stayed by his side at night upon his request and it felt familiar but he couldn't remember why before. And eventually he’d always leave for his own room. Before his fall there was only a few times they didn’t at least sleep in the same room, he was finally remembering that now. Usually when there was a dumb fight, but one of them always ended up on the couch instead but to be a little be closer. Just in case they were needed.

The phone in Emmet’s hand was set aside and replaced his his own, fingers curing around his twin’s, his body instinctively moving closer.
“I’m sorry Emmet.. I’m here now.”

I wanted to create a self indulgent post about Sningo and Emmet cuz I found out earlier that I have c*vid and I’m bummed out. :)

Ingo woke up to the sound of Emmet coughing from the other room. He quickly hopped off of the bed and scuttled into the lounge where he found Emmet having a coughing fit. When Ingo approached Emmet, the latter jumped out of his seat and backed away. He then composed himself.
“Brother, don’t get too close”, he said croakily. “I don’t want you to catch my illness.” Ingo tilted his head in reply. He was a Sneasel, so the chance of him catching a human infection was slim. Besides, he didn’t care whether he caught it - the important thing was that his brother was okay. Ingo took a few strides closer before Emmet ran out of the room into the kitchen.
Ingo stood bewildered for a moment, but before he could come back to, Emmet returned with gloves on and a face mask. He then sprinted to their shared bedroom, then returned with Ingo’s blankets and pillows, throwing them onto the couch.
“I think I should stay in the bedroom. You can’t get on the bed yourself, and I cannot help you since I am ill.” Without giving Ingo the chance to reply, he turned and vanished into their bedroom, closing the door on Ingo, who had tried to follow him in.
All of a sudden Ingo was filled with a horrible dread. How long would Emmet be in there? He needed to come out to eat, right? But knowing Emmet, he might go to the extreme or staying inside until he felt better. An abrupt thought entered Ingo’s brain.
I’m going to be alone again.
Anxiety flooded Ingo, causing him to act almost instinctively. He cried out, clawing at the door. He needed Emmet. Emmet needed him. He wanted to see his brother. He didn’t want to be alone again. If only he wasn’t a Sneasel - he could help his brother!
From the other side of the door, Emmet had worriedly been listening to Ingo’s frantic clawing, which continually got faster until things went eerily silent. Emmet approached the door, resting his ear against it. Very faintly, he could hear sniffles. Oh, it crushed him. He suddenly remembered how he felt for the years he spent alone. He knew Ingo must have felt the same way as him, but Ingo still can’t rest easy as he isn’t human again. Of course Ingo felt crushed - he was powerless compared to Emmet.
Emmet put his mask back on, then slowly cracked the door open and peered his head around. He saw Ingo sat on the floor, his face covered by his claws.
“Ingo? Are you okay?” he asked softly. Ingo looked up from his claws up at Emmet. His eyes had a deep fear in them, almost like how he looked back when Emmet had found him in the wild just months prior. Emmet came out from behind the door a little more, to which Ingo sprung up and clung onto Emmet’s leg like his life depended on it, which caught the younger brother off guard. He felt conflicted for a moment, then sighed.
“Are you sure you want to do this? I reaaally don’t want you to become sick.” Ingo nodded, his face buried against Emmet’s leg as he clung tighter. Emmet closed the door behind him, then knelt down and picked Ingo up and held him for a moment. “I am sorry. I didn’t not mean to scare you. I will let you stay with me.” Emmet then took Ingo into the living room, draping Ingo’s blanket over his shoulders and placing Ingo on his lap.
“Let’s watch a movie,” Emmet said, picking up a remote. Ingo wiped the remainder of his tears, then nodded confidently. Seeing Ingo’s usual expression return filled Emmet with relief, to which he smiled contently.
(Emmet stealthily researched whether a human’s cold could infect a Pokémon, but the overwhelming answer was no. He even texted Elesa who said her Pokémon always stay with her when she’s ill and have never gotten sick as a result. Ingo was fine and in fact helped take care of Emmet as best as he could.)
