Each faceless Seanchan Egwene killed was represented in her mind's eye as Rinna. Egwene stood in the gap gaping in the wall of the Tower. The wind ruffled her white dress, grabbed her hair, howled in time with her anger.
She was the embodiment of the Power, drawn from the depths of the fluted rod in her hands and channeled through the group of acolytes and Accepted connected to her in the Circle, who were hiding in the next room. Egwene herself was part of the fire that raged in the Tower, painting the sky with bloody flashes and smoky the air with acrid smoke. She now felt not like a person of flesh and blood, but like a pure Power, passing judgment on those who dared to start a war in the heart of the Tower itself. Lightning bolts struck from the sky, shaking the clouds. Streams of flame flew from her hands.

My first Tumblr post!
Let's start here by talking about a concept I've been kind of in love since like 2019-ish, and it's representing the Gondorians from Lord of the Rings as Byzantines, be it regarding clothing or equipment. In general, I like to combine gear from various periods of byzantine military, but mainly from the Macedonians and Komnenian dynasties. I also like to add some non-byzantine pieces, if it fits, like the mytrhil helmet of the Citadel Guard, which is inspired in a certain type of Hellenistic helmet.
So, to sumarize, what I'm sharing here are:
1- A Citadel Guard of Minas Tirith
2- Two heavy infantrymen from the city or one of the big fiefdoms of Gondor
3- A knight of Minas Tirith, clad like a cataphract

White Tower, Mulegns, Switzerland,
The White Tower (“Weisser Turm”) is a 29-meter tall, entirely 3D printed building. and designed for Fundaziun Origen.
The tower offers space for art installations and for music and theater performances. Visitors ascend a spiral staircase through a series of colonnades to reach the floating stage of the large hall on the top floor. The tower’s bold wealth of shapes is reminiscent of the great craftsmanship of the Graubünden master builders of the Baroque era who had a decisive influence on the regions' architecture.
The White Tower demonstrates the ground-breaking possibilities of computational design and digital fabrication, which will fundamentally change conventional building in the years to come.
Using robotic concrete extrusion processs, the concrete can be applied very specifically only where needed, thereby reducing consumption by a half. The process no longer requires any formwork.
These technologies enable modular structures that allow for an on-site production, thereby reducing transport. The White Tower will be constructed with disassembly in mind so that it can be rebuilt at another location.

The White Tower is a 29 m tall, entirely 3D-printed theatre and performance area in the village of Mulegns, Switzerland. A spiral staircase leads to a floating stage on the top floor. As a whole, the tower is reminiscent of the craftsmanship of Graubünden master builders of the Baroque era.

Finally chose a frame and spot for my (charmingly backwards 🫠) linocut print of the White Tower detail from the early Wheel of Time books map border. It’s above my work desk.
