I remember when I first started playing Stardew Valley, and genuinely thought it must be impossible to get a date for the first flower dance. Four hearts before spring 24th? Who could do that?

And now I regularly see YouTube videos pop up where people get married by day 17, or get married in three days with prep, and it’s like. Damn.

But even more surprising is the fact that on the playthrough I just started for the update, I managed to get two girls to four hearts before the flower dance. If only a younger me could see me now, achieving the impossible. I hope she’d be proud, even if it’s such a silly thing.

OK. Then don't tell them. You don't have to be responsible for teaching people with a budding interest in your group the ins and outs and how-tos. That's fair and valid! It can be a lot of work. Someone else will handle it

OK. Then don't engage with them, if it's that bad. Maybe someone else will come around and tell them the history, maybe they'll pick it up on their own, maybe they'll just enjoy the fashion elements for awhile.

I feel like we have a few options here. People can either talk to them, share the history, share the values, share the praxis. Or they can just chase off anyone who even thinks about dipping a toe in their community, and then wonder why it's dying off later down the line.

I dunno, maybe I'm too naive and patient or whatever. But if people are entering your -punk spaces without knowing The Rundown of what you feel they need to know, maybe being nice about it and informing people instead of immediately assuming stupidity and malicious intent could help you make a new friend. Even the loudest voices in a space had to learn from somewhere, and not everyone has the luxury of being in the space as the History was Happening--whether it's an age thing or a not being aware of the space thing. Or maybe I just don't see what the big deal is behind people hating people who like the aesthetic of something and don't know the behind the scenes history about it yet.

Because I believe in the word 'yet.' No one comes into this world knowing everything about everything, and we're all constantly learning new things. I'm not gonna degrade someone and call them a poser for not knowing what I know. Because if it were me, interested in a scene but getting chased out and called a poser? I wouldn't hit the books and study up, I'd go 'that fuckin sucks, those people sucked' and then avoid anyone and anything having to do with it.

So chase people off and call them posers if you want. But if your community starts dwindling, don't be fucking shocked.

Obi-Wan's got the cornerstone on depression, Ahsoka's got rage covered, together they almost form one healthy grief response. (I'm imagining them both living at the same rebel base post O66 and the twins going between them for wildly contrasting takes on their dad lmao)

People have been telling him he'll need to kill for days now, Alex has watched them kill multiple people already, I get that it sucks for him but you cannot team up with a known killer and be that shocked when actually his secret extra mission was to kill

hmmm something about dominik haunting the narrative in king of scars. everything nikolai does is at least a little bit for him. he learns about the life of average ravkan people by meeting dominik's family. he starts gaining influence in politics just so he can improve dominik's life. and then he promises dominik that he won't let ravka break him.

that promise fucking haunts him. it follows him wherever he goes. it's the driving force behind everything he does, every step he takes to heal the centuries-old wounds in ravka. it's what drives him to do better, be better.

dominik is always there, in the back of his mind: this country gets you in the end. always pushing him to do more, because he couldn't save dominik and so he has to save ravka (for dominik) (because he promised) (because he loved him)

I finally finished @thebibliosphere 's Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites and Crewel Intentions

Crewel Intentions however is just a short story and not available in print, and because I often struggle to read digitally I thought I'd print it out!

I honestly didn't intend to get so fancy with it but my stapler was too small and I tried tape but it looked ugly so... I made a whole little booklet for it!

I literally followed a wikiHow on how to bind the pages and it was so easy... this has opened up a whole avenue of booklet making opportunities for me...

op talked about yandere character portrayals these days and how sometimes people just take out the love and obsession but still tag that term to a character, which is very misleading because that's just an abuser and not exactly a yandere.

and i too wish people would realize that these are two related but also different things; yanderes are (mostly) abusive, but not all abusers can be called yandere.

anyway, i really hope writers would tag their works properly because i, for one, aren't interested to read about straight-up abuse/toxic relationship without that obsession aspect playing in the picture. i mean, you do you, you can create whatever content you want. i can differentiate fiction and reality and i don't think people who like slasher movies secretly aspires to be a killer themselves. but if the character's not obsessively in love with reader (or any sort of projection/images/shadow/pedestal they have of the reader in that insane little head of theirs) then i'd like to at least be notified so i can scroll past it, thanks.
