10 years. what a journey for me. it started with hyatt regency scottsdale on january 7th, 2013 for 4 years. then i asked for it to be transferred to the east coast to be close with my family and for the deaf community as well. i worked at park hyatt washington in dc for three years. i could have stayed there longer or another year or two but the kitchen was closed in 2020 due to a pandemic. october of 2020 i moved to massachusetts becuz there was opening position at miraval berkshire for two years. then i transferred again to hyatt regency crystal city in virginia last october. i started with cook 3 position for the first two years. then eric promoted me to cook 2 for the last 2 years before transferring to dc. i was still cook 2 and i was told that i will promoted to supervisor but never did it happen. instead of this, i got two awards: colleague of the month and colleague of the year, too. then i transferred to massachusetts for a lead cook position about 1 1/2 years. last march i was promoted to banquet sous chef and still today. eric, thank you. thank you for offering me a job in 2013. if i didn't get a job, i don't know what i would do. when i transferred to dc, it was sad for me becuz i loved that place. a great place to work with. i am glad that i worked there for 4 years with you all. thank you again, eric. ❤️ yesterday i talked with my friend and she asked me where do i see in next five years? i told her i don't know yet. becuz i have four in my mind what do i want to do. that's for me to find out in the next five year to see where am i. or the universe will lead me to there. #anniversary. #10years. #hyatt. #whatajourney. #thankyou. #cheflife. https://www.instagram.com/p/CnZzkI1LyrS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

F O U R. Y E A R S Four years ago today I had just finished 4 weeks of slog turning an old hairdressers into my new art business and getting ready to officially open. Swipe to see the day I got the keys! Over those four years I have worked seriously hard from the get go. In transforming the interior into the lovely studio I have today. In starting art workshops and after school art classes literally from scratch and within a year I had waiting lists and fully booked classes. In working out what worked for me and my business (lots of trial and error on that part) and in constantly adapting to the changing times and the needs of others and myself. I am very proud of everything I have achieved so far. Things are changing once again. I am now teaching privately and making sure to keep a balance between teaching and focusing on my practice. Having your own business isn’t easy but it’s very fulfilling. You have to remain adaptable and you also have to be true to yourself and what it is you want to get from it. It’s no good running around trying to please everyone, you never will and you’ll be fed up and exhausted trying to. Massive massive thank you to every single person who has helped, supported and picked me up over the years. Big or small, you have kept me going. Circa June 2011. My first month long road trip through the country, with many more to follow. Probably the road trip that solidified, in my 23 year old mind, that I needed to live, work, and play in a location that I could adventure and climb full time. A novice climber at that point, still figuring things out; that trip ticked off some of the most iconic climbing locations in the country. Not that I knew what to do, or was capable of getting the full experience at the time. Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. Followed by Yosemite, Mt. Whitney Cirque, and Bishop, CA. Fast forward eight years, and that first trip has been greatly expanded upon. Rocky Mountain National Park is now my home stomping ground and I’ve summited El Capitan in Yosemite via Freerider/Salathé. However I’ve still never returned to Bishop. Glad this week changes that. Yikes I look so young, yet I still feel so alive sometimes looking back a little to far can make you wonder where you are, yet other days when you reverse through time you get a good feeling of comfort making you understand that time might have passed quietly along but the magic you ‘ve found has stayed all along! This picture was at probably my third or fourth Serious job, when I just started out. I think about 15-16 or so years ago. My have time passed and have the world changed, all for the better if I might ad. I must admit whilst looking back at this it was a little before one of the biggest magical events of my life, and I am so thankful for each year so far, amazingly magical wondrous blessings.
