i just want it be said that i don’t think ofmd would have hit as hard without the ‘his name is ed’ scene. like we got the kiss, which was of course revolutionary, but if the show had continued the way it did without the scene where Stede confirms that the love is reciprocated, it wouldn’t hit as hard. it changed it from ‘aww Ed likes him’ to ‘oh. they’re in love with each other.’

Ive seen some people get mixed up (also sorry if this comes off pompous I swear I'm not I just really fuckin enjoy these movies ghggb) so I'd like to clarify that the Big Bad Wolf is an already established character in the Shrek world.

And he's just some guy. He also might transform into a human woman with a strong accent when there's a full moon according to a halloween special but ya know.

The wolf that chases Puss in Last Wish tho is, Death, straight up, as he said.

Some promotional media did advertise him as the double b wolf but that was just to not spoil the surprise. (Apparently some promos would also just call him The Wolf so yeup.)

However, it's also not unreasonable to mix up the 2 since in Shrek's ogreverse (ogre universe I NEED to coin the phrase c'mon now) there's been a few number of soft rebooted characters from a lot of Shrek media.

But to go off strictly from the movies, the 2 most obvious examples are Rumpelstiltskin and the 3 bears.

The left depictions are really just one-off jokes/background characters that rarely appeared in more than 5 scenes from previous movies (Shrek 3 and 1 respectively), while the right depictions are the later focused antagonists that got plenty of screen time (Shrek 4ever after and Puss in Boots 2 the Last Wish respectively).

The difference tho is that the original depictions are really Just one-off jokes. Nothing more than just something in the background. The Big Bad Wolf however is an already established part of Shrek's friend group alongside the 3 little pigs, Pinocchio and Gingy.

Basically, not someone they could just easily make a soft reboot about like with the aforementioned 2 examples.

It is incredibly likely tho that DreamWorks did base Death a bit off of the real life folklore of the Big Bad Wolf. Considering how much they love old tales, and how much old stories had him as the main antagonist. (Plus c'mon. Wolf from Bad Guys literally says he's the big bad in every story, they're definitely self aware at this point.)

Having the penultimate depiction of the end of life itself in their fairytale inspired long-running world be loosely based on the most popular antagonist from old folklore stories is most likely on purpose, and I gotta say, based.

It's also likely that Death can take whatever form he chooses. But I'm cool with gnarly wolf form. 👍

Oh man Tobirama is just so interesting to me because in my head; he is someone who is so deeply affected by emotion; who loves without abandon, desperately; who is equally terrified by that and spends most of his life trying to repress it into oblivion and chop it up into tiny little manageable pieces. And fails, of course. Characters are interesting when they fail.

It's rarely pointed out that the maxim of "the perfect shinobi is emotionless", so often picked apart in Naruto and touted as one of the tenets of shinobi-hood in Konoha, very likely came from Tobirama himself. It's a philosophy he expresses even as a child (oof).

Which honestly, might have been the best coping strategy they had to deal with the insane pressure cooker of tragedy they were thrown into from a very young age. It's certainly not helped by Butsuma, who practically encourages that philosophy.

But despite saying this... well, it's not like Tobirama can throw away his own bonds either. He can't help himself: he tries to protect the people he loves, as we see when he gets in between Butsuma and Hashirama when Butsuma is about to hit Hashirama. (Fuck Butsuma, btw. I highly encourage patricide in this case.)

But it's not like Tobirama having totally misguided ideas about how to manage mental health and wellbeing changed the fact that he did institute good in-universe as well.

Hashirama's vision was so insane, but in that time Tobirama supported it full-heartedly and arguablely was responsible for much of the actual execution. He's responsible for the creation of institutions like the Academy, the ANBU, Chunin Exams.

He, unlike both Madara and Hashirama, argues for democracy and an election of the leader by the will of the people, which is definitely an unusual thing for a shinobi to suggest.

Anyway, back to the emotional repression thing. Shinobi sure do love forgetting that anger is an emotion (hi Kishimoto this one's definitely on you as a dude), and Tobirama absolutely gets angry, and doesn't seem to recognize that it is an emotion. Classic toxic masculinity at work, thank you very much Senju Butsuma.

This isn't to say that he's a perfect character, or an evil character either. I like him because I think he's imperfect. He has so many flaws, but he's always trying to do (what he thinks is) the right thing, which is a great setup for a very interesting character. Absolutism in a character tends to be much less interesting than struggle, contradiction, and desire.

Anyways I think my thoughts can be summed up as:

He even acknowledges himself that he smokes and drinks A LOT. but he sees it as his little pleasures in life. He says he needs it because he finds the life he lives demanding. He also once said that he needs a drink before the show to calm his nerves. So that sounds very much like he uses alcohol and cigarettes as a coping mechanism. That is NOT healthy. Wherever the memory loss comes from, he still has a problem with drugs and alcohol. He admits it in almost every interview! He just doesn’t see that it is a problem. Just like you :) instead of making fun of people who are concerned about Louis, you should at least acknowledge the fact that these concerns are very reasonable to have at this point. You don’t have to agree but making fun of it makes you look like a fool who is deeply in denial about reality.

Oh ye thats true! :D Honestly that's probably mainly the reason for how I decided to refer to them to not be confusing; that moreso in VH the other folks refer to him more as Sparklez, versus in Mianite he was mostly called Jordan, if any of the sparkly-dick esque nicknames xD I also maybe tie it into the nature of their character in my headcanon, Sparklez (VH) being someone inherently mystical, born to the Void and the End from the start v. Jordan being initially a human who came into his dragon-eque powers of Ianite and the End through the passing of quintessence from goddess to champion

The two names'll probably be just for fic purposes because I'm havin both of them in there at the same time, but I'll still use VH!Jordan for like analysis n stuff and things yeee :D

Thinking about an RP that would be a dream birth scenario that would combine a bunch of my kinks— surprise multiples, stomach problems, excessive waters, inconvenient timing and location, slightly public but with a very supportive partner, etc…

Like, maybe it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, some kind of big holiday. The carrier and their partner were picked to host because they inherited a nice house that's a decent size enough for everyone in the family to come by. Some people who flew in are staying at the house, others are out further in town. The house is a bit further out, sorta in the middle of nowhere, on a gorgeous piece of land.

The carrier is absolutely massive, and has been dealing with braxton hicks for weeks. The partner worries, but the carrier insists it will be fine. It's not like anyone has tickets that are refundable, anyway— they're already arriving! The food is all getting brought in and cooked, everyone is chatting. It's the sort of chaotic that normally comes from family gatherings, typical spats and drama, but of course, still enjoyable to see everyone.

The carrier wants to be a good host, because it's their first year married to their partner and they want to make a good impression as a couple. However, all of the different smells of the kitchen have been throwing them off, and they start feeling crampy and nauseous. By the time dinner is ready, they convince themself they're just hungry, and they have two helpings of food, enjoying a hearty meal.

However, not even an hour after the meal, when everyone is talking about dessert and mingling, the carrier feels absolutely shaky and sick to their stomach. Something is very wrong, and they're starting to wish they hadn't ignored it. They're zoning out in the living room mid-conversation when someone asks what's wrong— and with a lurch, they grab the nearest receptacle and lose the contents of their holiday dinner. Immediately, all eyes are turned to the commotion— only to be further shocked when with a nervous moan, the carrier's water breaks all across the floor. The family is immediately trying to figure out what to do— but with a massive rainstorm outside, holiday traffic, and crashes across the roads all leading to the house, there's no chance of an ambulance getting there in time. The carrier is mortified and their partner immediately ushers them to their shared bedroom for some privacy.

With the intensity of birth clashing with forcing down such a big meal, the carrier is sick as a dog, the symptoms almost like food poisoning as they feel the baby descend. They're trying to stay calm, but not succeeding, and the family can hear their laboring cries through the walls. The family wants to help, but the carrier is too embarrassed to want to be seen by anyone, so they try to avoid anyone except their partner having eyes on them. By the time the baby arrives, there's a collective sigh of relief, thinking the chaos is over, and some of the family wanting to meet the baby— of course, no one was expecting the contractions to be anything more than the placenta. But when the carrier is still letting out pained moans, a breech baby begins to descend, panic returns in full force.
