Hear me out: his thoughts are so FUCKING loud whenever hes in the same damn room as yuu. It doesnt matter if yuu is at the lecture hall, the cafeteria, or even the library. The daydreams and love bombs, the cooing, the “LOOK THIS WAY PLSPLS PRETTY PEARLLL” practically DEMAND your attention!! I mean jade just (sadly) overpowers every other thought the people near you have, but usually yuu can just push back those thoughts after slamming their head on the walls shaking and crying.

I love the way you draw faces, both kinda-realistic and the simplified ones! My favorite things about both is how on the more detailed, elaborate ones you make the bridge of the nose really pronounced, if that's the right way to say it? Finally got enough energy to talk about Furina's SQ and while I loved her and the troupe, MC and Paimon were .... Not Great. I talked about this with friends but in Paimon's case especially, the way they interact with Furina feels like people who just don't understand trauma and depression and then engage with someone suffering from both in all the wrong ways.

Talking about how much of a downgrade her house is from the opera house, making fun of how she can't cook, pushing her to act when she's set a very clear boundary and then guilt tripping her after she's stuck to her guns, shaming her for not being able to fight well (Paimon literally talks about how second hand embarrassment is overwhelming and I'm just like ?????), telling her she's "not acting like herself" when she attempts to open up and be vulnerable....it's just really rough. That and the MC asking "is something wrong" when Furina gets sad over Poission ..like bro people died and she couldn't save them and she's tearing herself apart over it. Those people are never coming back and you know it and you have the gall to ask her is something wrong??? Of COURSE there is!!

It just feels especially odd because we literally get to see all of Furina's suffering and Paimon in particular is. SO mean? Like she was more understanding with Wanderer and Ei and THEY'VE tried to kill us multiple times!! I don't get it, and honestly I'm very proud of Furina for refusing to waver. Let her rest!! She's tired and depressed and she needs time to heal; and honestly fuck Paimon for trying to make her feel bad. Furina's worked harder than she EVER will.

octavian and agrippa are thing outside of that dynamic! this is, ofc, a YMMV type of thing, this is very much getting into creative/thematic nonsense that I like to play with as someone who makes comics

but basically the cut off for the statesman-gladiator/politician-warrior dynamic is philippi. things get hazy leading up to philippi because julius caesar has already eroded a core element to rome's structure, which is that it's made HIM the focus point of politics. there is no longer room for horizontal alliances of power amongst men vying for prestige, there is only room for vertical loyalty (so like, a more extreme version of patronage and bossism politics) (and disloyalty! because you get stabbed if you make people unhappy!! you make your body one with the state and people will let you know what they think of you. and the state.)

Scorpius: Rose Granger-Weasley. I asked Rose-Granger Weasley…. to be my friend!

ROSE frowns in confusion and at the bottom of the stairs.

Albus (also excited): And she said no!

Scorpius: But I asked her. I planted the acorn. The acorn that will grow into our eventual… allegiance.

Albus: But you do know that Rose hates you?

Scorpius: Correction, she used to hate me, but did you see the look in her eyes when I asked? That wasn’t hate… that was pity!

SCORPIUS is smiling with glee, whilst ROSE cringes.

They laugh briefly, even ROSE has to stifle herself from her own amusement. Then ALBUS becomes serious and goes quiet. He steps down towards SCORPIUS until they are close together, and then puts a tender hand on his shoulder, almost intimate in the moment of it all.

Albus (quietly and very softly): And that’s who you want? In your palace?

Another silence. SCORPIUS looks confused, ROSE looks sad. She realises his longing.

Scorpius (floored by the sudden sentimentality of the moment): Yes… I— I think. Right?

ROSE steels herself, and emerges from her spot under the stairs to meet them from the bottom.

Rose: Hi.

SCORPIUS and ALBUS turn to her immediately. ALBUS’ hand is still on SCORPIUS’ shoulder. ROSE looks at the both of them intently, and neither boy knows quite how to reply.

Rose: This is only going to be weird if you two let it be weird.

ROSE looks between both of them very purposefully. ALBUS grows self conscious at this and quickly removes his hand from SCORPIUS’ shoulder.

Scorpius: Received and entirely understood.

ROSE looks at ALBUS.

Rose (very gently): Are you okay?

Albus (smiling at her but a little weak): Yeah.

ROSE smiles back, and exits. Another momentary silence.

Albus: Maybe pity is a start.

Scorpius: Are you heading to Quidditch? Slytherin are playing Hufflepuff — it’s a big one —

Albus: I thought we hated Quidditch?

Scorpius: People can change.

They both start walking down the stairs in the direction of where ROSE left.

Scorpius: Besides, I’ve been practising. I think I might make the team! …Eventually. Come on.

SCORPIUS starts walking off but ALBUS stops on the bottom stair. SCORPIUS looks back at him.

Albus: I can’t. My dad’s arranged to come up—

Scorpius: He’s taking time away from the Ministry?

Albus: He wants to go on a walk— something to show me— share with me— something.

Scorpius: A walk?

Albus: I know, I think it’s a bonding thing.

Both SCORPIUS and ALBUS pause before simultaneously and very dramatically pretending to vomit. They laugh.

Albus: Still, you know, I think I’ll go.

SCORPIUS reaches in and hugs ALBUS, who is a head taller than him due to the height of the stair he’s still standing on. ALBUS is frozen for a moment before he reciprocates and they are still. When ALBUS breaks the silence, his face is pressed so very close to SCORPIUS’.

Albus: What’s this? I thought we decided we don’t hug.

SCORPIUS dislocates from ALBUS.

Scorpius: I wasn’t sure. Whether we should. In this new version of us.

ALBUS smiles at him as SCORPIUS walks off without him. SCORPIUS smiles at him when he looks back.

ALBUS (still smiling, full): I’ll see you at dinner.

Can I share something? Something so insane happened because today, my younger sister hesitantly told me she wrote fanfic and also hesitantly let me read one of her works. I’m not surprised that she’s going off and expressing her creativity in a way similar to how I did at the same age, but what the fuck? The way she wrote was? So? Insane? Crazy? Are you even fourteen? When I was her age, I was writing really bad MHA fanfics with horrid plots 😭

hella I'm out for a friend's bday and I typically don't visit restaurants like it's a whole thing w my friends how UNAWARE I am of shit. Anyways so I ordered a burger that I didn't know would have so fucking much added on it, this thing was HUGGEEEEE I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DIDNT WARN ME ABT THIS. I was chided by my friends for not requesting a burger with less on it, I DIDNT KNOW. so this burgers huge I don't know how to eat it I'm cutting it into pieces and it's falling apart and there's stuff I'm trying to pick off of it, it is a nightmare on my plate my friends are absolutely making fun of me with how I've just decimated this thing. and um. I wore my nice clothes today I can't lie it was my fit with my patched up jean jacket and pinwheel hat also I've got a mullet and my hair curls so ive been told i could he on stranger things. very silly of me. WELL I GUESS IT GOT ALL THE WAITRESSES ATTENTION. THEY WOULD COME OVER JUST TO SAY THEY REALLY LIKED MY OUTFIT AND IM HERE HUNCHED OVER MY PLATE I WAS SO EMBARRASSED. the waitress who took my plate was so nice abt it but I've suffered greatly today
