Factions of Cordifá

Someone mentioned in the tags that they wanted to know more about the factions in a flavor sense.

Toles - WUB

This one was the most developed in my mind when starting the plane if that isn't abundantly clear. They have a great respect for spirits and ancestors, but not much for the actual living, breathing members. Ancestor's Day is celebrated all over the plane, but is held in high importance in Toles.

Their special denzien is Spirit.

Seves GWU

Originally my only idea for this group was that they followed an honor code, but we've seen that before. Now they are much more. In the old caliphate, there was research into time with a religious aspect. That clergy currently controls the Ancient Capital, and Seves. They are organized into classes with time clergy at the top, then the artists and poets, then the warriors, and finally common folk.

Their special denizen is Giant.

Ristan - RGW

This group is led by civil engineers and architects, with a philosophy of being stronger with many. However, they are also in tune with nature, with many cities being formed out of trees and cliff faces. Servos do the day to day management of infrastructure.

Their special denizen is Beast.

Berbe - BRG

In tune with the darker side of nature, the mangrove swamps and volcanoes of Berbe are home to poisoners, but also doctors due to the wide variety of herbs and other plants. Currently, this taifa is going through an upheaval, where the ruling people are split in two and warring against eachother.

One group believes the best way to honor the legacy of the old caliphate is to lean into the assassination that has plagued the taifa since its formation and the other believes that the poisionings and assassinations are barbaric.

Currently both sides have a vested interest in locking up rivals and taking the Ancient Capital away from Seves.

Their special denizen is Horror

Tela - UBR

Tela is run as a magocracy and a plutocracy all rolled into one. Their noble, wizarding class run a variety of tourism companies and casinoes, and the speed at which they spring into battle is unparalleled. However a revolt is surely brewing, as the working class is tired of their beautiful vistas being sold to no benefit to themselves...

Their special denizen is Vampire.

sorry this is so specific and self-indulgent and came out of nowhere but i blame @smr7k4 for this anyway supernatural au where scorpius is a washed up curse researcher/scientist who used to be trying to fine-tune or alter curses that are already incurable to work in favour of wizardkind which was a motivated passion after his mum died from one. he was recording how this one ritual could bring back people from death permanently outside of the resurrection stone but something went horribly wrong in his experiment. so scorpius let his research and projects get disbanded bcuz it crossed the border between normal magic and dark magic.

fast forward and scorpius dies somehow. his husband doesnt share nearly the same amount of moral limitation that scorpius subjected himself to, and would do just about anything to get him back. albus goes fishing around for all of scorpius’ old notebooks until he finds that ritual with the specific curse. he performs it and boom he got a little cannibal zombie hubby now. but zombo!scorp also needs to live on human meat so albus becomes a serial killer so he can sustain scorpius (who also isn’t very conscious of his actions and is in a state of animalistic bloodlust, but for some reason still holds a soft spot for albus). meanwhile rose would be the detective auror thats hot on albus’ trail trying to figure out who is responsible for the random killings.

essentially the au is albus finishing scorpius’ research by trying to figure out how to make him more human. he’s documenting what kind of foods zombo!scorp can and cant eat, how to restart all parts of his body to get it functioning again, how to help him access memories to his life and vice versa.

“oh blood type A- gives scorpius tummy aches so i won’t feed him people with that type” then jots down scorp’s lactose intolerant like symptoms. “oh scorpius doesnt like eating hair he always just eats around it. it would be easier if i just remove that part of the head” then takes note of scorpius’ preferences like its cutting crust of bread. “ugh rose is being annoyingly smart again looks like i gotta frame someone to buy me some time before she finds me out sighhh” or “scorpius was always such a sweet tooth so maybe i need to find people with high glucose levels” or “maybe if he eats someone familiar like karl jenkins or something that could trigger a memory for him and reverse some of these effects” (albus just wants an excuse to murk karl).

everyone (not everyone. maybe like 5 people but anyways) on about whether rose or scorpius would be the professors’ favourite and i think most people lean towards scorpius being the fav. whilst i agree he gets better grades then rose i argue rose is more liked. my reasons:

scorpius doesn’t know volume control. bro just roars with laughter over the smallest comment albus makes and for what… he’s keeling over the side of his desk red-faced and for what..

bro TALKS out loud when writing his notes, evidently annoying everyone (except albus who is used to it) in his vicinity

scorpius tries to sneak in cheeky little snacks here and there except he’s not inconspicuous at all. he just tries to stuff his face when the professor is turned and then his cheeks will be full of cake and his mouth smeared with cream or some shit

his leg is always bouncing up and down

has burst into tears at least once in every class for various reasons (missed his dad, missed his mum, missed albus, was hungry, was tired, is overwhelmed by the concepts etc etc)

sometimes forgets to put his hand up in class and just blurts the answers

against all school guidelines, will show up to class sick, with all his medicine, a shit tonne of tissues and three blankets and will make his own little fort of disease at the back of the classroom (to this day he has a perfect attendance minus the fourth year shenanigans)

was once twenty minutes late to class and got so stressed about his attendance that he told his professor in explicit detail the bowel issues he was having and the extent of how bad his constipation was that morning using horrific metaphors to explain the physical feeling, and because he doesn’t know volume control especially when he’s emotional, most of his class heard it too, which embarrassed neville (because of course he was the professor in this scenario) to no end he ended up just giving scorpius a free pass to the medical wing

became impervious to shame halfway through fifth year. literally stopped gaf. which means many of these issues would be repeated as long as it didn’t effect his grades

hmm i’ve actually never thought about this before. i feel like (with my characterisation of him, at least) he sort of sways with it. like he’s flexible for the most part but there are some things he considers sacred that he legitimately can’t break, like cooking for his dad and mum on fridays or going out to trivia with rose every fortnight or something like that.
