After I started following Ursula Vernon & Kevin Sonney on social media, I binged their fiction podcast, The Hidden Almanac, and started listening to Kevin’s Productivity Alchemy. At that point, I hadn’t read any of Ursula’s writing, but soon knew I wanted to. My first was last year’s Nettle & Bone.
When the Kickstarter for a 10th Anniversary complete collection of Ursula’s webcomic Digger was announced, I immediately submitted my pledge for a copy…even though I had no idea what the story was about. My copy arrived in late 2022, but I wasn’t able to really get to reading it in earnest until a few days ago. I never new I could love a wombat, a little feral demon child, or a beat down and lonely hyena so much.
I hope to read much more in 2023 than I have in the past 2 years, and Digger was an excellent way to begin.
Here’s the full piece I did for the Webcomic Almanac! We managed to raise $217 for the National Center for Transgender Equality! I’m super proud of everyone else that submitted their comics, and I’m really happy with how this one turned out too!
If you want to read a comic about a found family of queer villains, feel free to check out my comic on this blog! Tumblr doesn’t share posts with links in them, so the first page is available in the description of the post below this one when you go to the main blog!
A preview for my piece in The Webcomic Almanac - a collection of artwork from a ton of great comic creators, which you can get right here!
“Featuring almost 70 works of art from over 60 artists and webcomics! The zine is complete with fully functional links to read the webcomics, follow and support artists! All profits from sales will benefit Project HOPE.”
If you’d like to support a great cause and find some new comics to read at the same time, be sure to grab a copy before May 31st!
These are previews of work I’ve done for the ‘Webcomic Almanac’ - it’s an art zine that features illustrations from numerous webcomic artists.
They even have links to the comics next themselves, so it’s a good treat if you’d like to find your next favourite webcomic!
The art zine is only $5!

All the proceeds will be donated to Project HOPE too, so your money will be in good hands.
Over on Twitter, a few awesome people from the webcomic community put together Webcomic Almanac, an amazing art zine! I've got some never-before-seen Sombulus art in this one, and there's some super-rad art from @starfishface, @cosmographia, @rommie and other cool folks too! Well worth the $5! Get it over here!
By the way, Travelers of Telaria was a part of the Webcomic Almanac project that just became available for purchase! I made a never-before-seen piece for the project and you can see it and like a TON of other awesome webcomic art for just $5! All proceeds go to charity :)
A little wholesome comic I decided to do even though I never saw The Sound of Music, but I could imagine Germany singing Edelweiss as a sweet lullaby for Mary ;u; Yes, I know The Sound of Music takes place in Austria, which is definitely not Germany.
Sombulus group shot from Webcomic Almanac 2018 that I don't think I ever posted here? I wanted to show all the worlds they go to, so I drew one building from every world in the background.
Kickstarter for Book 3 launches Thursday! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/delphina/sombulus-graphic-novel-print-run-2021
