Pt.2

Ever since you were a little kid you were always cast in the shadow of your little sister Kokomi she is way prettier than you and smarter. Everything you would do you would be compared to her.

“Mommy look at this drawing I made” you showed your drawing but your mom swatted you away.

“I’m busy with Kokomi” it was always like this that’s why you always went to your personal maid Tsuyoko she acted more like a mother than your own mother.

“Miss Y/n what a lovely drawing” you had a talent in art and your maid Tsuyoko always incouraged it.

Later you didn’t care as much about earning your family’s love anymore and focused on being the perfect version of yourself.

Then the day came were you got a lettter from another kingdom a royal family more prosperous than yours the kaedahara clan they were a famous clan because no one in their kingdom had any complaints they were perfect. You did question why you got a letter from them you opened it gently and read the letter.

“We want our eldest son kaedahara Kazuha to take your hand in marriage”

“Wait?.”

“WHAT!?”

Your scream attracted Tsuyoko and your Mother who was in the area they came rushing to see what the commotion was about.

“What is all this all about?” Your mother asked with an annoyed look on her face. “The kaedahara clan asked my if I wanted to marry their eldest son Kazuha.”

Your mother snatched the letter out of your hands. “Unbelievable are you sure this was for you?”

Your mother leaves with the letter in hand. She didn’t expect anyone to take interest in you when your younger sister Kokomi was there you didn’t either honestly. You were called to meet you parents you went to them and they told you that you needed to give this to Kokomi.

“You have to understand she deserves this more than you do”

You felt angry inside every time something was about you they had to make it about her about Kokomi.

“You have to send them a letter to say that you think Kokomi deserves this more than you ok”. Your mother smiles at you she only does this if she wants something from you.

“Yes I would be very grateful if you did” Kokomi added this was the first time you didn’t realize that Kokomi was in the room she had her beautiful blue gown with pearls that sparkle in the sun you wishes you could have dresses like that but you make do with the dresses you get you learned how to sow from Tsuyoko so you can make your dresses look nicer yourself.

You go to your room and write the letter

“Dear, Kaedahara’s

I politely decline your offer as I am very unsuited for this but on the other hand my sister Kokomi is perfect she’s smart and elegant a much better fit

I hope you can understand,

You neatly fold your letter and put it in an envelope and put a sangonomiyan stamp in it and send it out you and your family await the answer.

Instead of a letter some unannounced guest show up.

Me was struck with a thought: To all the boys I’ve loved before MERGWENTHUR EDITION???

Something something like Gwenthur is happily married in s5 & they find 2 lettters: one addressed to Arthur & the other addressed to Gwen. And they are LOVE LETTERS or poems or whatever or love notes. Written by whom, you ask? MERLIN. Either the clumsy idiot signed his name somewhere or they recognise his hand writing style (maybe since Merls sometimes writes Arthur’s speeches)

So, the 2 just look at each other like O_O uhhh, so with which one of us is he in love rn? Or is he even still in love with us or did that crush subside already as we speak? So they set out to figure out if Merlin is still in love with them through dinners, picnics (Mergwenthur picnics are best picnics), subtle hints like do you have a love at the time, Merlin? Or haha even bolder as in Merlin, we were thinking of taking a third person to bed with us (just to spice things up or another excuse: oh, Merlin, yknow how us newlyweds can be. We’re so full of *energy* & *excitement* that Gwen can barley keep up with me!), so would you know anyone or would you YOURSELF be available? (since he IS still the king's manservant & Arthur could technically convince him that this counts as *serving* his king too lol). They could also try dancing with him, that would be sooo cute!!

But Merls is ofc super oblivious & also thinks they’re off-limits bc they’re married which is probably also the reason why he never told them abt being in love with them or why he never sent those lettters. So, they just come clean at the end & show him the love letters/notes/poems & hes so embarrassed & angsty abt it. Maybe he thinks that they just wanted him exposed in a mean kind of way or are uncomfortable knowing abt his feelings or he’s just plain embarrassed bc they found the letters (I’d lock myself in my room like a loser if that ever happened to me haha)

But in the end all 3 of them get together & have a happy ending :)

Yesterday I looked at my calender to see how I'm doing with my schedule and I realized it's our anniversary! So I made sure I have no pland and am clear for the day, so we can go clebrate somewhere.

I was thinking of going for some dim sum? I know a nice place where we could get it so how about we go there and then on a walk, and we see where our legs take us?

It's always fun adventuring with you and watching sun set down together would be quite an experience, especially after day full of surprises! Because even if I don't have a plan right now, believe me when I say I'll make this day unforgettble for both of us!

It's not exactly fic format but I hope you like what I did! Let's say I forced asked few characters to write a letter to you to keep the nice feeling of fiction!

This year honestly passed so quickly I haven't even realized it was this long! But I also was, am and most likely will be happy that we've known each other for so long and became so close despite the time that passed! I'm not gonna call it short or long time since it's really up to someone's preferences.

I really hope that we can make some event the next year so I'll probably try thinking of something and writing my ideas! I've also put it in my calender so hopefully the next year we'll celebrate more prepared for this day!

she gave me life so i ought to appreciate her at least. but if it’s her words that cut deeper than the knife i use on my own, then should i still be obligated to love her? 

a constant reminder that this is her first try at life but i ought to think his actions would have hurt me more than her words. some boy i stumbled upon on the street, instead of the woman whom i was suppose to admire the most.

he left and she laughed that he left. saying that i was cheap and that i loved so easily. but is it a bad thing that i love so easily? what if it’s the one emotion that keeps me sane, what if that’s all i am, and what if love is all i have that keeps my feet to the ground... will you still laugh at me then? 

i give so easily with hope that one day another soul would give me everything i’ve once given. i don’t want to have what the both of you have, i don’t want to be difficult to love, i don’t want to play games - to be hard to get or not hard to get. you called me cheap, you think i’m a whore and that’s how you’ll only ever see me. because i loved so easily. 

yet you’re also proud to have me and words i extract from your own mouth - you’re not lacking to men, why do you make yourself so cheap, yet i was and always will be lacking as a daughter. and i’ll never be enough to him or to you, and even myself. i’ll never feel enough for myself. 

all you see when you look at me, isn’t the fact that this is also my first try at life but all my mistakes and every disappointment i’ve made. my presence itself is an ache. and when you look at me, you also see yourself. and you project, and project and continue to project and occasionally compare. but i’m not you, and you’re not me. we have parts of each other but i refuse to have what you both have.

“Menacing Letter Writing Poor Business in Manitoba,” Winnipeg Tribune. April 8, 1932. Page 3. ---- Extortionists Only Get Long Prison Terms for Their Pains ---- Extortion by means of menacing letters is not a paying business in Manitoba. Within less than a year four men who have attempted it have been caught and sentenced to penitentiary terms ranging from two to ten years.

Close co-operation between provincial police and postal authorities resulted in the rapture of Mike Kohut last summer, after he had mailed a letter from Sundown to W. P. Davidson, dairy manager at Marchand, demanding $5,000. The letter was printed from rubber type. It threatened that if the money was not delivered, Mr. Davidson would be murdered, his buildings burned and cattle killed.

Kohut was sent to the penitentiary for ten years.

Posted in Winnipeg An extensive campaign of attempted extortion was planned by Joe Krapalik, Bill Moroz and Bill Wolowodynk. On August 26 and 28, they also chose Mr. Davidson as their target, sending him two letters demanding $33,000. Their letters said that Davidson's home in St. Paul, Minn., had been mined and would be blown up if he did not meet their demands.

It is not known that they made any attempt to visit the spot where the money was to have been placed. Police were unable to trace the letter-writers in Winnipeg, where the threats were mailed.

Peter Marshall, a farmer of Manson district, was next selected as a victim. He was told to hide large amount of money near a certain fence post on his farm.

Came for Package Provincial constables lay in wait near the spot and Krapalik and Moroz were arrested when they came to see if the package was there. Wolowodnyk escaped, but as the letter indicated that the writer was familiar with the Marshall place, and the farmer's movement, suspicion fell upon Wolowodynk, who had worked as a hired man on the farm.

He was traced to Saskatchewan and arrested by R.C.M.P. The three men went to trial in Brandon and were sentenced to two years each in the penitentiary.

After their conviction, police compared the Marchand and Manson letters and found that both were written by the same hand. Moroz was the only one of the three who can write. They were brought from jail to plead guilty to writing the Marchand lettters. Krapalik, the oldest, and leader of the gang was sent to Stony Mountain penitentiary for four years, Moore for three years and Wolowodynk for two years. 

Copy of Letter None of the four men convicted had any previous criminal experience, and none appeared to be of high mentality, as is evidence by the following copy of one of the letter sent to Mr. Davidson:

‘Here are the same guides that wrote you a letter just a few days ago in which was written about the money you was supposed to give away it was stated that on August 24, 1931, at 4 o'clock p.m. sharp. Thirty Three Thousand ($33,000) Dollars were supposed to be brought to the sign where It shown to you plainly on the same sheet. But it happened that you received the letter later than Aug. 24, so it isn't your fault.

‘Here we are giving you still a better chance so you would have enough time to do as you are told.

‘Remember, what was written in the last letter, don't think anything about getting a chance to escape from this, has to be done doesn’t matter. If the money won't be given or this thing would be known by the police or somebody else you shall be the first to get killed and the rest of your family, we will get a chance doesn’t matter what you do or where you will go, you had to be killed already, but you are lucky that we noticed you received the letter later than you should have received, don't think we are writing you some nonsense, but stick this in your mind and do it.

‘This won't be forgiven to where you, where you would be. Have thirty-three thousand dollars (33,000.00) ready on the 1st September at 4 o’clock sharp. Bring to the same place we give you a direction to the first letter. If this is not done the way it has to be, death is waiting for all of you on very step. The first chance is where we will see you.’

The Letter -- Bruno Takes You With Him

You were always with the Madrigal triplets, the four of you were inseparable. You were there to help both Pepa and Julieta get ready for their weddings and care for their children. While you were very close, almost like a sister, with the girls, most often you were seen with Bruno. If you heard the name Bruno, it was most always associated with Y/n. After particularly bad visions, you would be the only one able to console him. It came to no surprise to anyone in the familia or village when your engagement was announced. Everything was amazing, just how you always dreamed it would be. One month before your wedding was sweet little Mirabel’s ceremony. You awoke the next morning expecting to see your Brunito’s face, but was instead faced with a letter on his pillow. The air hung heavy in the room, like the few moments before a hurricane.

Heavy sobs wracked your body as you stumbled down the stairs, frantically searching for Bruno. “Stay away. Stay away. This is better for her, for everyone. Bad Luck Bruno has no place in her life, she will move on.” Bruno peeked out from behind a painting, watching you run down the hallways of Casita. Finally exhausted from crying you fell to the floor, clutching his letter to your chest. “Please Brunito, come back to me. Please don't leave me here.” Barely a whisper, barely loud enough for even Dolores to hear. Your cries became silent, as tears fell like a summer storm down your face, until you fell asleep. Pacing back and forth, Bruno argued with himself. “I can’t bring her with me. I can’t make this her life.” “You can’t leave her alone to be miserable either Bruno. You know she loves only you.” Flipping his hood up and down, between being his normal, meek self and the daring, confident Hernando, he finally made a decision.

It was dim when you awoke, rubbing your sore, puffy eyes as you sat up. This..this isn’t the hallway. Trying to get your bearings, you studied the small room you were in. A small bed, a little table with two chairs, and a red armchair. This isn’t Bruno’s room either. Where am I? Timidly, you made your way to the bright red chair in the middle of the room. Why did it look so familiar….? “Um….Good..Good morning..” A soft voice came from the shadowy corner of the room and your head snapped towards it. Stepping into the light, you saw the familiar green ruana, but with the hood flipped up. “Buenos días,” hesitant to what you should say. “Um..Bru..Hernando, Where exactly are we?” The hooded man looked up, the hood silently falling, revealing Bruno’s eyes, filled with sadness and regret. “Well…We..We’re in Casita, Y/n. I know you read the lettter. I couldn’t..I’m hurting the family. I can’t let Mira be treated the way I am because of a stupid vision. I wanted to leave everyone, everything. Make it better for you..” His shoulders slumped in shame, afraid to meet your gaze. It took two steps for you to cross the small room and wrap your arms around him, pulling him in tight. “Mi vida..Please..We can go home.” A slender finger gently hooked underneath his chin, bringing his eyes up to yours. “No pequeño ratón, I can’t go back. I don’t want to leave, I want to watch my familia grow, but I can’t stay.” He turned from you, beginning to realize that he couldn’t ask you to stay hidden in the walls of Casita for the rest of your lives. That’s no life for a hermosa mujer like you. You watched with worried eyes as he began to pace, stressing over what to do. Finally you reached out a hand and stopped him. “Dulce esposo, come stay with me. I haven’t sold my house yet. There’s no need to LIVE in Casita’s walls. No one will have to know you’re there, I can even move closer to the mountains if need be. You can always sneak here and watch from the walls when you want to see your familia, and then we can talk about this more. You can rejoin the familia.” Eyes filled with love, Bruno pulled you close to him and pressed his warm lips to yours. “Gracias mi vida.” With a peck to his nose, you pulled him through the passageways. “I’ll always be here mi amor.”

Y/N speeds up her walking, she is going to be late to Geometry. Passing by a row of lockers, she narrows her eyes to see '047D'. She rushes to her gray locker, hurriedly calculating her combination. “Ah, shit!” The lock has stopped moving, it's jammed. A few passerby's stares are felt on Y/N's back. The frustrated teenager’s cheeks grow red from the sudden attention. She glances at the clock right above a classroom next to her. Y/N has two minutes.

A raspy voice asks, "Do you need help?" Y/N whips her head to the right in surprise. Fluffy platinum hair reflects the fluorescent school lights hanging from above. The corners of his light blue eyes crinkle in a laugh, as Johnny finds Y/N’s distress hilarious. “Oh, shut up.” Y/N scoffs, frustrated with combination of her lock and the clock quickly running her out of time. 

“Say less.” Johnny ushers Y/N out of the way and pulls down on the stuck lock. The shiny metal unlatches with a snap. The boy grins, proud of his accomplishment. “Wow, you’re better than any janitor!” Y/N faux swoons, receiving a snort from her friend. She faces the locker and swings open its thin metal door. A white piece of paper floats down onto the beige tiling. Muttering a ‘What the..’, Y/N leans down to grab the note. Johnny notices this occurrence, becoming intrigued. “Is it a secret admirer?”

Opening the folded material, the letter is a page long. Y/N wouldn’t have enough time to read it now. She folds up the paper while grabbing her math supplies. Shoving two Anatomy books into her unorganized shelf, she slams her locker shut. “I gotta get to class, I’ll let you know what it’s about,” Johnny goes to protest, stating she has plenty of time. “See ya!” Y/N shouts over her shoulder, running to her Geometry class, leaving the tall boy behind. 

As soon as Y/N is inside the math class’ doorway, the bell rings. Sighing in relief, Y/N made it! The teacher looks over in disapproval, always expecting her students to be early and ready to learn. Ignoring the glare, Y/N bounces over to her seat, getting a few laughs from her classmates. Elated, and also flattered from a potential love interest, she giggles. Dutch, an aggressive blonde, elbows his desk neighbor. His bushy eyebrows furrow as he tries to keep his voice down. “Don’t tell me Johnny gave you my stash.” 

Jimmy grabs a hold of the broken lock at Y/N’s locker. “What’s this?” His tanned hands cradle the metal as he's kneeled on the ground. “Let’s just say I saved the day, Jim,” Johnny gloats, puffing out his chest. A familiar cocky smirk plays on the boy’s face while everyone rolls their eyes. Y/N lightly shoves the teenager, barely budging from his heroic stance. Bobby and Tommy smile playfully at their group of friends. “Let’s get some lunch.”

Cobra Kai saunters into the loud cafeteria. The typical cliques are in their usual spots. The Cheerleaders and Jocks in the center, the Goths in a corner near a large bulletin, the Nerds by the lunch line, and Cobra Kai next to the water fountains. Now don’t get the group wrong, they’re still studs even if they don’t mingle with the Jocks. Tommy just had to get one swing at the football team’s quarterback. 

Johnny leads them to the lunch line, reaching forward to snatch a plastic tray for himself. Y/N grabs one along with a shiny spoon and fork. The smell of pizza meets Y/N’s nose. Her stomach grumbles, a hunger rippling through her. “Pizza or salad?” The lunch man grumbles, he'd rather be doing anything else than serving food to rude high schoolers. “Uh, pizza, please.” Y/N requests, waiting for the oven-hot rectangular flatbread to slide onto her tray. And it does, nearly staining the fabric of her white shirt. 

Moving her tray to the end of the line, Y/N takes a cup of mandarin oranges and sets it down on her tray. She starts to walk to her seat while her friends pass by her on both sides. The white and gray tiles stick to her shoes as God knows what's been on the floor. Placing down her food, she opens her water bottle she snagged from her locker. The Cobras talk among themselves, laughing about a prank they pulled. Y/N twists her left wrist to open the blue bottle cap. She leans back and begins to take a sip. Cool water hits her parched mouth.

"Y/N, why don't you show us what you found in your locker today?" Johnny questions, more demanding than suggestive. She nearly chokes on her water in excitement. Placing the plastic cap back on, she sets the bottle back down onto the red table. "Sure thing." Y/N reaches her index and middle fingers into her front jean pocket. Her eyes flick up to watch her friend's reactions.

Johnny's eyes glow in anticipation, seemingly more blue then before. Bobby nods her on, his long wispy hair framing his olive complexion. Jimmy leans on Dutch, who could care less, while a small smile is in the making. Tommy fixates on his food, sawing off his pizza with a metal knife. The utensil shines as it reflects the school’s overhead lights. He seems off, really off. Squinting, Y/N makes out a slight hue of pink on the loudmouth's cheeks. He's blushing?

"Are you gonna let us see?" Dutch quips, impatient as ever. Finally pulling out the folded paper, it crinkles as Y/N smoothes it out with her palm. Clearing her throat, she begins to read the letter aloud. "'Dear Y/N, I hope I don't come across as a stalker when I write this. Here goes nothing: You may be surprised when you figure out the person behind this handwriting, maybe even shocked. But let me just say that you are the only person that makes me feel like doing a roundhouse kick to the moon and back'," Tommy laughs, saying how bad ass the scenario sounds. This earns a shove from Bobby to quiet him down.

Y/N continues, "'Yes, I'm that thrilled about you. I guess your smile adds to the feeling. No, I think it's your laugh. I remember when we were at the same showing for a movie and hearing your giggle. What I would do to hear it again! Signing off, Hendrix.'" Silence carries through the group, letting the love letter sink into their minds. Bobby breaks the quietness. "What do they mean by 'Hendrix'?" His forehead creases in thought. "I think it's code." Jimmy pipes, the only Cobra with a decent GPA.

"Well, Jimi Hendrix was a rock artist." Tommy suggests, after being quiet for so long. "Right, but who listens to him anymore? I only have cassettes of Boston and Motley Crue." Johnny's hand comes up to comb through his floppy hair. His mouth full of pizza, Dutch grumbles, "MJ is all the rage now." He imitates Michael Jackson, singing an off key 'Billie Jean'. "Okay, I think we get it," Y/N laughs, as an idea pops into her head. "Does anyone have the last name 'Hendrix' in our school?"

In the library for study hall, Jimmy and Bobby help Y/N flip through yearbooks. A stack of them lay off to the right of the wooden table's edge, about to crash to ground. Her eyes scan the names of people, as her eyes become tired from staring. She closes the book's black cover from 1982, giving up. "I found him!" Jimmy exclaims, as Bobby and Y/N crane their necks to see. The librarian hushes the teenagers, adjusting her glasses that sat on her nose. The fuzzy black and white picture showed an attractive Matthew Hendrix. The glossy page reflected dark hair and a white smile.

"I know this kid! He's by my locker." Y/N pieces together, the puzzle falling into place. Bobby glances up at her yearbook in her hands. "Is he in our grade?" He asks. The teenager doesn't want a guy older than the Cobras, he'll just mess around with them. "No Hendrix is in our grade, he does football." At the mention of the ill-fated sport, Jimmy quickly inquires, "Wait, it's not the guy Tommy punched, right?" Y/N shook her head in confusion. Everyone was either too drunk or high to remember who was in the party's fight.

The next day's events were rather quite interesting. Y/N got another letter from this 'Hendrix'. She opened the note hurriedly. It would be embarrassing for her if any of her friends found out. This second paper gave more details about how much they liked Y/N, but they also gave a reference she picked up on. It mentioned going to a summer camp in '83. Y/N went with the Cobra Kais, but other guys tagged along too.

So far, none of her friends had waltzed up to her, pressing more about the topic. Dutch definitely wouldn't, he scoffs at the slightest mention of romance. It's a wonder that he even dated, let alone lost his virginity. Johnny and Tommy have been far too quiet about these occurrences. Jimmy and Bobby have been the only ones willing to help Y/N find more about this secret lover.

The note only fueled a desire for Y/N to ask Matthew if he was writing her letters. She waits, leaning on her locker, awaiting the moment the said boy would roll around. The beginning of the school hours always dragged slow, as if in mud. Y/N hopes this event would bring her some newfound excitement. The first bell rang, signaling to students they had five minutes till class. A breeze blew on her shoulders as a tall figure slowed down their pace. Matthew slung a dark bag over his right bicep, shoving it into his locker.

"Hey, Matthew, is it?" Y/N's voice inquires, raising in pitch with giddiness. The teenager’s brown hazel eyes sweep over her figure, deciding if he should pick up the conversation. With a light sigh, Matthew nods his head. “Yeah, whatcha want?” Y/N holds up the notes that were slipped into her locker from the past two days. “Have you been writing these to me?” She extends the papers for Matthew to take. A look of curiosity takes over the boy as he accepts the letters. His eyes move back and forth as he scanned the writings. 

“I didn’t write these,” Y/N’s heart sank as this encounter did not go as planned. “But the handwriting looks familiar.” Matthew swears he saw this specific printing before, maybe written on his car in red spray paint? Reliving the memory, the red warning scribbled out a ‘NO MERCY’ on his beloved Dodge Turbo’s side. The faraway look in Matthew’s eyes causes Y/N to wave her hand in front of his line of vision. Coming back to his senses, Matthew shakes his head in disbelief. 

“Here are your papers.” Matthew presses the letters back to Y/N. She's positive that she nibbled onto the bait of this fishhook. She goes to ask him more questions, but he slammed his locker abruptly. Grumbling something about getting payback, Matthew heads down the hallway, turning the corner. He deserts Y/N, who's left with more questions than answers. 

For the next few days, each note gave more and more hints about the writer. So far, with the help of Jimmy and Bobby, she figured out that they like soccer and enjoy running on the beach. It’s not a grand discovery, but Jimmy assured her that every clue counted. Besides, the final note would be delivered today. Y/N is thrilled, she hopes the anonymous lover would reveal who they are. 

The Cobra Kai boys have been drifting in and out the letter drama, scrapping up details here and there. She walks into the lunch line by herself, as she chooses a salad today. Y/N decides to walk alone, she's packed with a lot of tests and doesn't have time to wait for the others. “Heya, Y/N.” Johnny greets, changing out his cassette tape in his Walkman. Tommy’s bruised hand covers one of the cassettes nearest to him, its taped title unable to be seen. 

“What’re you doing?” Y/N asks, as the boy seems to be moving the tape closer to himself. Caught in the act, Tommy stops moving the cassette. He lifts his head to meet his friend’s eyes. A nasty shiner around his right eye stands out against his smooth skin. The boy mentioned he fell down a flight of stairs at a party and tried to catch himself. Hence his purple knuckles. 

“Oh, I was just helping Johnny change out his Walkman.” Tommy comes up with, flipping the cassette so it was standing upright, the tape side away from Y/N. Her narrowed eyes dart between Johnny, who fakes a shit eating smile, and Tommy, who doesn't dare move until Y/N lets go of the subject. She sits down, letting the topic dissipate on its own. Her brain's tired enough as is. 

“Do you have the final note?” Bobby leans in, his long hair tickling Y/N’s cheek as he questions her. Y/N reaches into her trapper keeper, laying the letter between her and Bobby, reading silently. ‘Meet me at the beach after school, around eight. Bring your swimsuit!’ She almost jumped out of her seat at the butterflies overtaking her stomach. Bobby pats the back of Y/N, lightly laughing. “Well, there you have it. You’ll meet them after all!” 

The purr of the Firebird rumbles Y/N’s passenger side seat. The smell of the seawater fills her nose with her window cracked open. Johnny’s bright headlights gives way that they're traveling down the dark road. The whistle of the wind and the thumping of REO Speedwagon hum her ears. It's surprising that she didn’t bribe Johnny to take her, he usually would grumble about it for a while. This time he acted almost glad to take Y/N. 

Johnny pulls the car forward and parks it in the beach’s parking lot. She scans her surroundings ahead of her through the glass. The silhouette of a figure is down in the sand, facing the waves. “I think that’s my person. Thanks, Johnny.” Y/N unbuckles her seatbelt, ready to open the door and greet her writer. A tan arm swung out in front of her, holding a piece of paper. This stops her from continuing her motions. “What’s this?” Grabbing the note, she opens it. 

The infamous handwriting is there but another one is visible. A more hurried, scratchy one. ‘You weren’t expecting another letter? Calm your tits, it’s just a note from your letter carrier: Make sure kick ass when you meet ‘Hendrix’. He’s really an amazing dude.’ Johnny laughs, slapping his large hands together in amusement. Y/N mouth drops, the charade coming to a close in front of her eyes. 

“Wait, so you were the one dropping off the letters in my locker?” Y/N asked, her eyes shining in amusement. Johnny nods frantically, his hair reflecting the moonlight coming in on the dashboard. “Hey, it wasn’t hard to put superglue on the lock. It was pretty sick!” Laughing, she opens the car door, leaving the paper on her seat. “You jerk!” Y/N slams the door shut, leaving an emphasis on her words. 

The grainy white sand slows her walking as she approaches the figure. “Hello?” She calls, anticipating rising. Everything has came to this moment, it better be worth it. Brunette hair gently moves in the breeze, as goosebumps rise on her arms. No answer is given. The person’s ears are covered by a certain black foam, connected with wire. Sighing, she nears even closer. 

As if expecting the visitor, or listening intensely, an index finger presses pause on their Walkman. Turning their head, Y/N’s eyes widen and she covers her mouth in surprise. A set of brown eyes watch her reaction while they remove their Walkman, setting it down on their blue towel. A smile forms the longer the person watches Y/N. “It’s me.” The voice was bubbly and unapologetically loud. 

“Tommy? Oh my god.” Y/N’s face pales as she sets herself down next to the writer. The male leans over to the left and makes a show of taking out his cassette tape. ‘Jimi Hendrix- Electric Ladyland’ is written on the brown Scotch tape. “I’m ‘Hendrix’, Y/N.” She blushes, her face turning a shade of pink. “I figured that out by now, doofus.” Tommy quietly laughs, turning towards her. Silence commences.

Y/N’s heartbeat bangs loudly against her ribcage as she leans in. She pauses, just short of kissing him. Y/N wants to make sure he is okay with going further. Fortunately, hesitation is not in Tommy’s vocabulary. Her eyes close once she feels his lips on her own. His warm hand cusps her face, gently stroking his thumb on her cheek. His abs contract as he rests his back on his towel, his left arm propping up his head.

She lays to left of him, her face creating contact with his. Her hair falls over to the side, moving slightly with the ocean wind. Tommy’s hand rests on the small of Y/N’s back, as the warmth of his body pulls her in further. Running her hands through his hair, she gently pulls. A small groan is released from Tommy throat, rumbling Y/N’s chest. An innocent gesture but not so innocent reaction. 

Tommy smiles warmly when the kisses end, fireworks going off in his stomach. Y/N pulls herself up and sits facing the black waves, turning shy with the shared intimate moment. “Come on, let’s go for a swim.” Tommy proposes, rising to his feet and pulling off his gray sweatshirt. His toned stomach pales in moonlight, his crucifix necklace dangling down over his chest. His orange swim trunks are loosely draped over his prominent hip bones. 

“Like what you see?” Tommy teases, flexing his biceps. “As if, loverboy.” Y/N retorts with faux annoyance. She grips the bottom hem of her black top as she reveals her swimsuit, shedding her pants. It’s now Tommy’s turn to gawk. He stands like a little kid, with his hands relaxed at his side, his jaw slack. Y/N takes this as an opportunity to rush into the waves, splashing Tommy with the lukewarm water. 

“Hey! Come here!” Y/N giggles as he rushes over to lift her up off the ground. He spins her around once, laughing. Her eyes widen in thrill as he lifts her up even higher, getting ready to toss her into the water. Her legs kick in excitement as she grips onto his shoulders. “Ah, Tommy!” She giggles, not wanting him to let go of her. Her eyes lock with his own once again. 

Her laughter fades as they gaze at each other. Tommy’s adam apple bobs when he swallows thickly. He’s nervous. She feels herself being let down by the taller. Y/N stands now confused by the change in mood. “Y/N,” Tommy calls, more declarative than interrogative. “Can you be mine?” The water around her ankles feel colder than before. 

She nods, gradually getting faster with her confidence. “Yes, yes, yes,” Wrapping her hands around Tommy’s waist she pulls him in for a quick peck. “A thousand times yes.” She turns to exit the water and put her clothes back on. Her boyfriend follows, now noticing the Firebird that’s been there for over an hour. “Are you kidding me? Johnny’s here?” He whines, falling to his knees, his fists pounding the soft sand. 

Y/N giggles, amused by his dramatic ways. “Hey, let’s get some fries downtown? Johnny can take us.” Tommy gets up off the ground, grabbing his towel and Walkman. “Fine, it’s a deal. Race you to the car!”

Shout out for repetitive activities! You’ve also made me realize the similarities between pretty much any kind of magical/religious practice from the rosary on down and the fact I’ve written “Let’s join together and VOTE in the Tues Nov 3rd election!” literally two hundred times. So let’s hope we were ~putting energy in the universe~ along with lettters and postcards.

judy has a long way still to go with some pretty clear mental health struggles - but it’s important to note that scene in which she actually told her mom “no”.

she tries to go to her mom, in prison,  after she “lost some people recently”. and we find out judy had been stuck in a loop, a little bit - she hadn’t seen her mom in 15 years, but she’d been trying! she’d written her letters, and her mom had never responded, never called, nothing. her mom says that she didnt get those letters but- it sounds like a lie, not that judy wants to hear it that way.

she goes seeking family, seeking someone she fears she has lost already but wants to have that bond repaired. she’s lost steve, she’s lost abe, she’s been having such a hard time with jen and everything going on in her life up to date. 

and whether she’s trying to give or receive a second chance at family from her mom - its hard to tell which one she perceives it as.

regardless, its honestly hard to watch the manipulation and guilting that goes on in those scenes with her mother. she blames judy for her drug problem, for god’s sake! and she says things like “i never worried about you” as though it’s positive, and follows it with “the world has always loved taking care of you,” as if it were okay to fully neglect your child. “motherhood’s overrated anyway” - you can see how that hurts judy, how the subject quickly changes. “you didnt know better [than to tell the truth when testifying]” and its judy who feels guilty, who says sorry, who is apologising for telling the truth, especially when she was a little kid. her mother acts like she is such a great mother for “forgiving” judy. yet they dont even talk about how neglected judy was, how judy should be the one who’s apologised to, who could (or not) forgive her mother. it isnt even an option to her.

so when she actually finally lets her feelings out, even just slightly. she did say how she felt when she was a child, and it’s honestly terrible to see her mother immediately shoot her down about it... still, she does not give into the guilting and manipulation. she actively stands up for herself, doesn’t allow her mother’s hurtful statements and gaslighting and blame game to continue - she actually says something.

it’s a huge thing for quiet, relatively passive judy, who has learnt all her life to let these people walk all over her because fighting back was useless and would get her in more trouble - also massively learnt from steve’s abuse. judy, who has been told everything is her fault, that she’s crazy and nuts, that she’s the problem. maybe it’s only one conversation, but it represent so much more, that she’s finally arguing back against the shit that’s been thrown at her for years. that takes a massive turn around to achieve. she’s beginning to speak her mind and not be afraid, not be discouraged. she’s grown a lot in that way.

plus, she kinda managed to finally untangle herself from her mom’s manipulation. she recognised the manipulation, and she rejected it. she refused to write the lettter. she refused to just obey and be unhappy. she fought for herself. she said “no”.

and that’s hopefully just the beginning, we’ll have to see in s3.

I had this idea for like a Dear Evan hansen AU (if you could call it an Au)

first off It’s gay so jot that down.

But So here it is

A teen girl (Imma call her Evie so I don’t have to play the pronoun game but it isn’t necessarily a genderswap)

she Is basically invisible in the shadow of her Senior older brother. He’s the highschool quarterback, footbal star, most popular guy in school. He even has fucking great grades and is considered an all around decent guy.

He just never acknowledges her. like ever. he talks to her at home only when he has to and nobody at school even knows they are siblings. She hard core resents him for being so good at everything when the only things she’s good at is pissing off their parents and being invisible.

But the worst of it, the real kicker is, the girl Evie is absolutley in love with, has a secret crush on him, just like every other girl in the school.

but then Evie’s brother goes off to college and she thinks finally people would forget him like they do with all the previous graduating classes. But no. The school acts like he’s died. She can’t even get away from him when he’s left for college. 

meanwhile, Evie’s crush, We’ll call her Zoe like in DEH. She’s been made Drum Major of the band and is really struggling. They’re really struggling to get funding for new uniforms. Well. Evie over hears Zoe and her band friend talking about this and then one of Zoe’s friends says something like, “Oh but I bet if the schools old golden boy asked, we’de have them delivered in a week, just like when the football team got new jerseys.” the girls giggle and walk off but Evie wants to find a way to help. Later that evening when evie is at home, there’s a ltter in the mail from her brother. He had to write a letter as part of a project for an old fashioned professor. but when their mom puts the letter on the fridge next to a grocery list that Evie wrote, she mentions howw similar their handwriting is. Her dad makes some comment about, “if only they were more similar” at which Evie rolls her eyes but gets an Idea.

She fake writes a lettter from her brother to the principal. in the letter she writes about how the schools moral must be down because he’s gone, but his sister mentioned the bands old uniforms and if the band had some shiny new uniforms then they could have something else to be proud of and it’d lift everyones spirits.

This works and just like the friend joked, they have new uniforms within the week.

The band is really pumped and everyone hear about this generous deed. but they are also like, “I didn’t know he had a sister”

a few weeks pass and the excitment is just starting to die down when Evie over hears from her only friend that the drama department need a better budget for the play theyre putting on. so she gets to work on a new letter from her brother when she gets caught by said friend. She says that she sounds nothing like her brother and she’ll need to improve it to be belieable. 

They work together to pull off this hoax where every few weeks the golden child send a letter saying how he’s doing to the principal and hints at how this school club that his sis mentioned to him could use some funding. and every single time it works.

But this weird side affect is the people actually realize that Eveie is Golden boys sister and she gets super popular. Teachers start letting her off the hook, people are always begging her to write about their club to her brother so hopefully they can get new stuff. 

But importantly Zoe takes notice. and this is where Evie sorta lies and says well, bro doesn’t mention it in the letters to the school but he has asked about you, you know, in his personal letters to me. He regrets not getting to know you more when he was here.

cue slightly different version of if I could tell her. Zoe here’s the love in Evie’s voice but at first mistakes it for her missing her brother. 

But then the new starting qb gets upset because he cant get popular because no one will get over Evie’s dumb brother. He somehow finds out the letters are faked and exposes everything. Maybe he actually gets a hold of her brother and invites him down for a special event. 

anyway everyone, including zoe, find out and she says some big speech about how they had raised allthis money for these extra carriuclars just because they thought this one person wanted them to and they spent all this time believing in this one person when she should’ve believed in each other. 

everyones upset but they srta see her point.

her brother sorta says something about how he didn’t know she had this in her and she says well you never took the time to know me did you. he says your right, can we start over. and they do that cheesy thing where they introduce themselves like strangers.

But then Zoe confronts her and says, “So I’m assuming your brother never wrote you things about me” and she just nods ashamed

“So all that stuff you said, all those nice things, they were just a lie, some ploy, and for what? to make fun of me? to get back at me for never noticing you”

“No! They weren’t a lie. But they weren’t the truth either. They were, but what I mean is, i’m sorry, but my brother never felt that way about you.” and she takes a shakey breath and says, “I... I did.” and Zoe takes a step back. and she blushes.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have lied. I only wanted to help you get uniforms for the band. But then i saw I could help all the underapprciated clubs, and I got overzealous. I, I never thought it’d come to this. I never meant to hurt you” Zoe is in shock and sorta stares at Evie but then a crowd of angry prople come up and demand answers seperating them.

after everything clears up Zoe talks to evie and says,” I’m still not sure how to feel, but how about we start over.”

and Evie says, “yeah, I’d like that.”

I got into an accident on a rainy day. I did not hold collision or comprehensive. Because I skidded into a ditch and the car rolled, an oil leak occurred. The fire department came and had to put oil dry on the oil leak which was saturating the ground. I hold all the other coverages (liability/property damage, underinsured/uninsured motorist/medical). Our family has had State Farm for 70 years now, several generations, and in the last 10 years or so we have been progressively more & more disappointed in their caring and customer service. Maybe its just the 'assistants' that my local SF agent (who never talks to his clients any more) use, they both seem to have just horrible attitutudes, sarcastic, and act like you are a complete PITA every time you call. I even have an email from his main assistant that I asked her to forward to the actual agent because I was told he was the only one that could answer my question, and just today I was SHOCKED when I re-read the email, and saw in the forward of my email when his assistant sent it on to the actual SF agent, She said This guy will just not give up, he keeps haunting me about this issue! I couldn't freaking believe it. I was going to forward the email to SF headquarters in Bloomington IL, but then as I read more & more about state farm I saw they are completely independent agents in each office, and have literally NO ONE who is their boss or who can reprimand or correct them. This is unbelievable. If I treated my customers at my work place & gave them the rotten attitude treatment we get from our SF office here, I guarantee you I would lose my job. No one is in charge at state farm obviously. Back to my question - I recently bought a classic car I have been looking for a long time - getting it next week - it is 25 yrs old, all original & in perfect shape. My state (Maryland) lets me register the car as Historic if it is 20 yrs old or more. I plan to do this. I contacted my wonderful state farm office today, to get a quote on a new policy/binder for this collectors car. They apparently don't like insuring a vehicle as Historic, maybe the policy is too cheap & they do not make any money off it. The 'assistant' said the best they can do, even if I REGISTER this vehicle in Maryland as Historic & get an Historic tag, which I will do, she said the best she can do is insure it as part time, occasional pleasure use, under 7500 miles a year . Which of course is NOT an historic policy. You can get that on ANY extra car you have in your household even if it is a 2011 model !! She did say (and I understand this being required) that in order to have is classified as Antique/Classic/Historic, you have to have an appraisal done on the vehicle as if it just came off the show room floor -then the premiums would be much lower if you had full coverage on it, as historic/classic . So here we stand. Can someone out there please help me understand - am I being taken for a ride by my State Farm office?
