Parallels between Maya and the Three and El Tigre

As most of fans know,Jorge Gutierrez has confirmed that all of his works take place in the same universe.So it comes to no surprise when the audience notices recurring characters or motives,and El Tigre with Maya and the Three are no exception.Thanks to design sheets mainly found by @screenshoteltigre we can see what connects these two shows.

Let’s start with El Tigre concept art(above),which depicts a skeleton giant similar to the one Sartana summoned in the 18th episode(as it was commented by @fly-chicken under one of my posts;pic below).Although it’s not certain whenever the design is final or if they’re even the same monster,but considering that bones are mostly associated with Sartana of the Dead,it is safe to say that the creature is connected to her.Now,here’s the Maya and the Three concept art featuring a bone monster Mictlan summoned during the final battle against the main characters(mentioned by @lunaislandcitizen under one of my posts):

Looks familiar ?

This might hit at Santana’s relation to Mictlan,since she is the daughter of Xibalba and La Muerte.

Mictlan and …Mikla?

Here we have an antagonist that never made into El Tigre series due to it’s cancellation by Nickelodeon.Right off the bat we can notice the name similarity to the certain god of war,as well as Miklas ability to raise the “forgotten dead” with his skeleton hand,something that Mictlan did at the last fight against all kindoms.

Also,there is another concept art of Mikla where he seemingly transformed into giant serpent monster,something that Mictlan had also done:

Now,it is very possible that Jorge Gutierrez took certain characteristics from this character and applied them to Mictlan,taking into account the time period between El Tigre and Maya and the Three.But if not,then we might have another follower of Mictlan that decided to take revenge on the reincarnations of Maya and Zatz.

what about Alejandro who listens to music that his dad would play on the speakers during family gatherings.

Los Tigres Del Norte loud on the speakers of his home as he prepares the meat for the cookout. La Puerta Negra (the black door) because it reminds it of his mum singing over and over and how he adored her voice when he would sit on her lap as a kid. Golpes En El Corazon(Blows to the Heart), when he went through a breakup and got tipsy. Calibre 50, when he wants to be a romantic. Siempre Te Voy a Querer(I'll always love you) plays around his mind when he looks at his pretty wife and kids. Another song that reminds him of his parents would be No Hay Novedad(No news), mainly because of when he was a kid and that song would play over and over during cookouts. Nieves De Enero(Snows of january) when he thinks of his young teen years and for some reason that song reminds him of his first girlfriend. Mi Ultimo Deseo(My last wish)is a song that most men in Los Vaqueros know and love too much for the meaning of the song. Adiós Amor(Goodbye Love) when he and his wife got into an argument and he got drunk, sang this and cried...went home and cuddled her. Hablame De Ti(Tell me about you), reminds him of how flirty he was when he met his wife and how the lyrics are close to what he said. Ariel Camacho was mainly his 20s and the two women he dedicated most songs to and how now they are for his wife. Ramon Ayala would play in cookouts and when he and the Vaqueros get real drunk, they nurse a bottle and play Tragos Amargos and sing with their slurred speech.

If you don't know it was a cartoon about this kid Manny, who had a superhero Dad and a supervillain Grandpa. And throughout the series he's constantly going back and forth between whether he wants to be a hero like his Dad or a villain like his Grandpa.

I'm not necessarily saying that I think Lambchop and Stella would have a child, but hypothetically, I think it would be a lot like El Tigre. XD

So ¿two top 5's? I don't know.

Well, this is going to be fun because I have more than just 5 hehehe 😼

1) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Manny Rivera/El Tigre (TigerGhost/TigerSpirit) I just fell in love with their dynamic, thanks to @/nicktoonsunite

I love Danny and Manny because Danny tends to be a little more serious and easily stressed out than Manny. And Manny's laid-back and fun loving personality helps balance that out for Danny. But the main draw for me is that they both understand what it's like to have separate identities that clash with their lives and the responsibility of protecting others. Even though they may feel like their powers get in the way of their normal lives sometimes, they will always put aside their own needs to do what's right.

2) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBoo) because of @/nicktoonsunite (and because I remember playing Nicktoons Volcano Island on my old GameCube and Nicktoons Globs of Doom on my old PS2). 

Danny and SpongeBob are just cute, queerplatonic partners, and their personalities mesh well together. I love how close and comforting they are in @/nicktoonsunite's universe. If there was something that was bothering them both, they would be the first people they chose to confide in. 

3) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom and Octavia Goetia (Spectral Owl) because of you and how cute they are. I honestly love the idea of Danny and Via healthily trauma bonding over the upbringings they had in their family homes. I love how shy and awkward they would be with each other.

I imagine Octavia helping Danny ghost hunt with her magic and knowledge of the supernatural, but I think what I love most is how slowly and gently Danny gets Octavia to put her walls down and trust him. They would be absolutely good for each other as a couple, and I headcanon that Danny will grow to be 6′ 1″ and Octavia will be 6′ 7″. Danny and Octavia will be a tall and adorable king and queen couple one day. (He will always nickname her Spooky.)

4) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Betty Barrett/Atomic Betty (Galactic Ghost) Now I was a huge Atomic Betty and Danny Phantom fan in my childhood (still am) so that's how this ship came to be.

I ship Betty and Danny for the same reasons I ship Danny and Manny but Danny becomes a galactic guardian and Betty becomes a ghost buster lol.

5) Danny Fenton/Danny Phantom x Little Cato (Spectral Space/Spooky Cat/Ghostly Hellions) (I need more ship names for these two).

I'm a huge Little Cato fan, and this is one of my favorite ships that I've come up with for him. I like to imagine that Little Cato gets his first intense crush on Danny, and Danny is completely oblivious (for awhile) about it. Little Cato just thinks that Danny is the coolest person he's ever met, and laughs at all of his silly jokes. Danny can't help but think how cute Little Cato is and finds himself enjoying every moment that they spend together. That's all I'm going to say about this ship because I plan to make a post about them in the future.

The Undecided AU

Made an AU inspired by El-Tigre about Flug and GoldHeart’s son that created when Flug doing DNA experiments on both of their DNA’s in an attempt to see if he can give himself GoldHeart’s powers or make himself immune to it and accidentally created a baby-clone of him and GoldHeart. (I kinda imagine if Superboy can be created using Superman and Lex Luther’s DNA , Flug and GoldHeart can have a clone kid as well) Flug shows GoldHeart the baby, thinking he will probably find out eventually. GoldHeart attempts to use this to get Flug to redeem but he refuses. So they settle on a compromise and buy a house together to raise the child, all the while trying to convince Flug to still redeem himself. They end up dating in the AU because of this.

The AU is follows the adventures of Connor (Marcus) Leth-Flugslys aka The Vigilante, a teenager with a superhero and supervillain fathers and is undecided whether he wants to be a Hero or a Villain, instead he chooses to do what is most fun for him. Whether reverse robbing people, just to see their reaction (basically holding weapons at people and giving them money), using a clown car as a get away vehicle for a heist, or just seeing how many sandwiches he can balance on his head his motto in life is “as long as it’s fun”.

Flug prefers him to be Villain, but he is happy as long as his son is happy and healthy, while GoldHeart wants him to be a Hero and doesn’t see the point of him being a Villain as he can be rich and have a wealthy lifestyle without having a target on his back.

Connor is basically in between, he is not as strong as GoldHeart and not as smart as Flug and is basically in the middle. He’s fine with that though he kinda wish that he could fly and would exchange flight over super strength any day, Flug seeing this, built him his own rocket boots so that he can fly and he continues to modify it by himself as he gets older. Similar to GoldHeart and Flug, he is a genius planner and prefers to use that over his super strength and befriending people, unless the situation is funnier to use his super strength, like randomly shocking people by lifting up a car.

People’s first impression of him as a nice guy and innocent guy, but getting to know him he is a more of a massive troll with nice moments. Hence he got the nickname as “the friendly neighbourhood menace”. He also inherited Flug’s awkwardness and cuteness and GoldHeart’s charisma, which a lot of people find charming, and he uses to get out of trouble from both Heroes and Villains.

Conner’s powers are limited to GoldHeart’s super strength and his eyes arms and legs can glow at times. He is not a genius inventor that can invent anything like Flug, but he can build some stuff, hack computers and is mechanically savvy and similar to Flug’s passion for planes, he has a passionate about fast cars and cool vehicles, which he would always attempt steal.

Connor also has a girlfriend who is the daughter of Miss Valdoom and Dark Phantom, named Emily Aterborn I, aka Princess E.

Flug is fine with whoever his son is dating as long as he is happy and GoldHeart does not approve of as dating a Villain, the future ruler of Noctis aka the city of Villains no less, as it will get him furthur from being a hero, which is ironic as he is dating Flug. (Will explain about her and their relationship in another post)
