Warnings: Angst, not proofread!
Summary: You and Walker have been falling apart in your relationship, so you decided to take him on a date to the summer carnival. However, things didn’t go according to plan.
A/N: Proof of existence, but this song has been everywhere for me and it’s just… ugh. So, I have decided to do a little angsty fic. :) This took two weeks to write because I had NO motivation…

You and Walker had a good relationship and kept a good balance with him filming and you doing your small YouTube career, and were always supportive of each other.
However, once he got into the season more within the Disney show ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’, you couldn’t help but feel jealous whenever he invited Leah over for your dates hang outs.
You loved Leah, she was sweet, funny, and knew how to keep things straight and well done. So, you didn’t really mind it as much when she would tag along, you ended up having fun at the end of the day.
But when things got more serious, Walker had been distancing himself from you.
Whenever you would text him, he would either leave you on read, or spend hours upon hours to write back. Being upset would be an understatement, you were livid and disappointed; you wanted to spend time or try to have a small conversation with your boyfriend, only to be let down.
Walker was at your house, finally convincing him to come over when you shouldn’t really have to. You were supposed to film that day, but decided not to because you were too happy to finally hang out with the blond.
He sat on your bed, his back against the headboard as he scrolled through his phone, occasionally texting his friends. You sat by him, talking about your day and wanting to catch up with him, but he didn’t seem like he was paying attention.
“Walker, are you listening?” You sigh, your hands falling to your lap in defeat. He picks up his head at the sound of his name being called, a faint, sheepish smile on his face. “Sorry, not really. I was texting Leah and Aryan about our upcoming hang out on Saturday.”
You look at him a bit confused, mostly shocked at his words. Walker mirrors your look, but more confused than shocked. “What?”
“You said you’d be staying with me the whole weekend since you’re going to be in Vancouver for a while?” You say, clearly stumped.
Walker gives a look of apology, his small smile turning into a frown. “Oh, I’m sorry love. I completely forgot about that, I can cancel the plans and-“
You cut him off, shaking your head. “No! It’s fine, you have fun with your friends.”
“Are you sure?” He asks, still concerned. “I’m sure.”
He nods, kissing your cheek and getting back to what he was doing in his phone as you lie down on your bed, staring at the ceiling.

While your boyfriend was in Vancouver, you tried to text him as much as you could. Mostly talking about your day and even asking about him… yes, he would respond, but they’d be dry responses rather than his jokes and memes he’d usually send on a daily basis.
You: So, how’s Vancouver? Anything fun recently? Read 14:54

Walker: hey yea it’s fun
You: Hey! Took you a while to respond, but that’s fine. How are you doing? I miss and love you :) 09:07

After that message, you’ve decided to just leave him alone, not wanting to bother him anymore. For the next couple of weeks, you’ve just been vlogging and doing your normal routine… well, without FaceTiming or texting Walker, of course.
But when you found out Walker had been finished with filming for a bit, you were puzzled and concerned on why he didn’t bother calling or texting you.
You’ve waited and waited for at least one text from him only to be let down, not like you were surprised.
Due to this, you’ve contemplated on either or not you should text him. Which you did, having a risky conversation with your boyfriend about your relationship. You procrastinated on the message. 30 minutes later, you were staring at the text before taking a deep, shaky breath and hitting send.
Today 13:03
You: Hey, can we talk?
Walker: yea what’s up? 13:12
You: I just feel like you’ve been ignoring me lately, did I do something wrong? 13:13
Walker: no, what makes you think that you did? 13:28
You: You’ve been super dry lately and take forever to respond, it makes me question things. 13:34
Walker: oh things like what? 13:49
You: Do you still want this relationship? I don’t want to keep putting the effort into it if I don’t get anything in return. 13:51
That’s when Walker responded almost instantly.
Walker: of course i want this, i’m sorry. i’ve just been super busy, can i make it up to you?… 13:53
You: I would like that. There’s the carnival happening near my house, wanna go? It’s been a while since we’ve last been on an actual date. 13:57
After making the plans and setting a time, you happily lie down on your bed. Maybe this was your chance to fix things with him and finally catch up. Your mind filled with different scenarios and how it’ll turn out, thinking how fun it’ll be.
As they days went by, you grew more nervous than excited for the upcoming date that was around the corner. And when the day finally came, you picked out a comfortable outfit and got ready to go.
After your mom drove you to the carnival, you greeted Walker with a tight hug. He smiled at you and said a quick hello to your mom before following you into the entrance of the park.

You both went on a various amount of rides and played some games too, even winning a couple of stuff. But as time went on, Walker seemed more distracted on his phone rather than wanting to spend time with you.
You tried to play it off by playing a few more games and a couple of rides until you just couldn’t handle it anymore. “Walker, let’s get a snack. I’m a bit hungry.”
He nods, slipping his phone into his hoodie pocket and following you to a concession stand. He buys you a churro and vanilla ice cream, opting to share with you.
He sits beside you on a bench, a good view from the carnival that filled the night atmosphere with colorful lights and the smell of sweet food mixed. Playing with the paper that churro provided, you glance at Walker on his phone again.
“It’s cold, hm?” You softly said, rubbing your arms a bit to try and warm yourself up. Walker hums in response, not looking away from his phone.
You try to talk about something else only to be left on heard. Growing irritated, you speak a little louder. “Walker, are you even listening?”
He glances up at you, quickly turning off his phone. “What?”
“You’ve been ignoring me halfway into the date, you’re distracted on your phone!” You hissed, throwing your hands up in anger.
He looks at you confused and clears his throat, “I-I’m sorry, I just-“
“Are you cheating on me?” You cut him off, your heart was beating rapidly, scared of his reaction. He looks at you offended, furrowing his eyebrows.
“What? No! What makes you think that I am?” He asked, now growing a bit irritated. “You’ve been stuck on your phone, like I just said!”
Walker stayed quiet, not being able to come up with an excuse for his mistake. He swallowed hard, looking away, but this made you even more angry.
“Walker, talk to me! You didn’t even text me when you got back from Vancouver, I had to find out from instagram!” You shouted angrily, Walker quickly quieting you down as people began to look your way.
“Im sorry! I just— I didn’t feel like texting you…” he mumbles, playing with his hands.
“Why not? You could’ve just told me to leave you alone.” You try to reason with him, wanting to gauge out his feelings.
“I couldn’t-“ he was cut off yet again, “why not?”
“Because you’re sensitive!” he snaps, “You’re clingy, Y/N. Look, I love you, but you really need to know how to give space when in a relationship. I don’t need you glued on to me all the time.”
Tears began to well up in your eyes, a faint “what?” Leaving your lips.
Walker sighs, shaking his head. “And I feel like…like I’ve lost feelings for you because of it. I’m stressed with filming and school, it’s hard for me, okay?”
“I guess with all the traveling and distancing myself, I grew out of the relationship.” He adds, his face falling.
It was an awkward silence before you spoke up, “What are you saying?” You murmur, your heart breaking at his words.
He takes a deep breath, taking your hand in his. “Y/n, look, you’re beautiful, sweet, and kind. I just don’t think right now is the time for a relationship. I think it’s best if we break up.”
Your eyes widen, this wasn’t how your date was supposed to go. You wanted to fix things, not ends it. You try to shake your head in protest, “N-no, we can’t. I-I can…”
Walker lifts your chin up, looking at you sadly. “Please, Y/n. We can’t do this anymore, it’s just not the right time.”
Taking a shaky breath, you nod in agreement. “Okay, okay. I hope things go well for you with filming and school.”
Walker smiled and kissed your forehead, “Thank you, likewise. And maybe, when the time is right, we’ll meet each other again.”
He gives you one last, tight hug before saying goodbye, turning around and leaving. You just stood there, heartbroken but.:. Relieved. Relieved that you didn’t have to feel drained for a fallen relationship. You take a deep breath and smile slightly, calling your mom to pick you up.
Once you made it home, you brushed your teeth and got ready for bed. You changed your wallpaper and bio status, unfollowing him but not blocking. You out your phone down and lie back, staring at the ceiling as you thought about his words.
“maybe, when the time is right, we’ll meet each other again.”

I got inspired by @addywalkerstan‘s quick analysis of AG birthdays and wanted to see 1) when every confirmed birthday was relative to each other, and 2) when the unconfirmed bdays could potentially be.
All of the Historical characters and a few Contemporaries have confirmed birthdays, either in the books or via American Girl’s social media. Here is my list of confirmed birth months and dates; under the cut will be speculation on the Unknowns.

no confirmed birthdays for December
Isabelle Palmer Birthday: born Autumn 2004; she is nine in Isabelle, which takes place at the beginning of the school year, and she is ten in Designs by Isabelle, which ends around Winter Break. Isabelle states in Chapter 4 of Designs that her tenth birthday was the week before the book began. There are still “a few weeks” before the performance in December, so her birthday is late Autumn, likely late October–early November.
However, back in 2014, Isabelle’s actress Erin Pitt did make a post on November 8 2014, reading “Happy birthday Isabell![sic] I’m so glad I could spend that time with you.” [x] Not sure if she was referring to the girl she’s taking a picture with or the character, but considering Pitt was there with an Isabelle doll, Nov 8 is a likely date!
Speculated Dates:
Now, here’s how I’m going with speculation: I’m going to negate the time period in which the girls’ books take place, as their birthdays would have been mentioned. Gwen, Sonali and Logan could be exempt from this since they had no books from their POV, but this is speculation, not fact, so let’s go.
Lindsey Bergman - born 1991. Her book takes place during the school year, seemingly not winter, so likely Spring or Autumn. I wasn’t quite sure if her story took place during the beginning or end of the school year, which would help decode whether it was Spring or Autumn; if anyone knows send me a message. Otherwise, her birthday is likely in Summer or Winter. Though, personally, I think it would be cute if her birthday was September 01, since she was first released on that date in 2001.
Kailey Hopkins - born 1993. Her book takes place during the summer of 2003, so her birthday is likely during Spring, Autumn or Winter.
Marisol Luna - born 1995. Her book takes place from October 22-29 2005, so her birthday is not within those dates.
Jess McConnell - born 1996. Her book begins in January; Sarita is on school break, so it’s probably her winter break? So Jess was born anytime but mid-January.
Nicki Fleming - born 1997. Her series takes place from Spring to Autumn 2007, with a break over Summer and with the story ending around December 2. However, there is a break between November 2 and December 2, in which Nicki’s twin sisters age a month. Nicki’s specific age is not mentioned in the second book, so her birthday could be Summer, November 3-December 1, or later in Winter.
Mia St Clair - born 1998. Her first book takes place roughly in the autumn and ends in early January; her second book takes place the next autumn. So she’s likely a Spring, Summer or late Winter (late Jan-Feb) birthday.
Chrissa Maxwell, Gwen Thompson, Sonali Matthews - born 1999. Their story takes place during the Spring of 2009, around Valentine’s Day (February 14) and the beginning of the Autumn 2009 school year. The Minnesota 2009 school year ended at about June 30, 2009, and began again Tuesday August 25. So birthdays could be before February 14, during the Summer, late Autumn or Winter.
Lanie Holland - born 2000. Series takes place from Spring through Summer 2010, so her birthday is likely in Autumn or Winter.
Kanani Akina - born 2001. Series takes place over the Summer of 2011, so her birthday is likely in Spring, Autumn or Winter.
McKenna Brooks - born 2002. Her first book begins in September, with her gymnastics meet in November. Her second book begins two months before “March-fest,” which would put it in January. I doubt she has a December birthday as her aging up would have been mentioned, but it’s still possible. McKenna was born anytime between April–August or (unlikely) December.
Gabriela McBride - born 2006. Her series takes place June 23-November 11 2017. Her birthday could be any date but those.
Tenney Grant and Logan Everett - born 2005/2004 respectively. Theirs ended up being really complicated so see below.
Suzanne “Z” Yang - born 2004. Series takes place April 3 to Mid-Summer 2017, so her birthday could be January-April 2 or in Autumn/Winter.
Gwynn Tan - born 2015. Corinne’s first book takes place in the Winter, likely November as Corinne and Gwynn are in school and Winter Break is not mentioned. It does take place over several weeks, so perhaps November to early December? The second book takes place at the beginning of spring, so late March; we then have a camping trip that is at the beginning of Summer, and a three-month timeskip afterwards to the end of Summer. Gwynn could have been born January–early March, April–early May, mid-Summer or September–October.
Tenney and Logan information:
According to her journal, Tenney begins Saturday October 1 2016 and ends Monday November 14 2016, throughout which she is definitely twelve.
Tenney: In the Key of Friendship picks up March 4 2017 and ends May 2-5 2017; her journal stops at May 5 but the plot of In the Key ends at about May 2. Tenney is still twelve during this period (Chap.11 of In the Key)
Tenney Shares the Stage is still during the school year, and my research shows the 2016-17 school year ended in Nashville at ~May 25, so Shares the Stage is sometime in May. Logan is fourteen by this point (Chap.1)
A Song for the Season, meanwhile, takes place early November to December, with Chapter 1 being “already November”, and the tour taking place “six weeks” later, the “day after school lets out for winter break” and ending on Christmas. From what I can tell, Winter Holidays in Nashville schools went from roughly December 18 2017-January 2 2018. The six-week date was given to Tenney on a Wednesday, which would put that day at about November 8, and the beginning of the book was just a few days before, on a day before a school day, so I believe it was a Sunday, so that would be the 5th. Tenney and Logan’s ages are not stated in this book.
Logan’s birthday is not from November ~5 to December 25. Since he could be 13 in In the Key, it’s hard to tell if he was born anytime from March to May, but he was fourteen before ~May 6. He and Tenney were not friends by the third book so he likely wouldn’t have mentioned his birthday previous to it, however she did know he was fourteen by Shares the Stage, so I presume at some point she asked someone. So his birthday is before ~May 6, or sometime from roughly May 25–November 5.
Tenney’s birthday, meanwhile, may be easier to find. Because her journal was given to her for her birthday, as stated from a note at the beginning of the book. Tenney’s first entry is on the 9th, though it doesn’t mention her birthday, and neither does the end of her journal on the next May 5. Tenney’s birthday is somewhere between May 6-8.

jensenackles: As a Generation X guy...I guess I made a mistake. Without thinking, I quickly ran over and threw myself between a fire hydrant and the on-coming sled...absorbing the majority of the impact, causing me to do a full flip (you can hear the grunt). What I FAILED to do was to NOT move...and get myself an epic #fail video of my child and her friend wrapping themselves around an immovable object at 30mph. 😤
I have so much to learn from these young “influencer” types. 😉
p.s. We all walked away...well, I limped.

I feel dumb but I only just realised why it is Sam and Dean move about in the world with no sense of personal space, always bumping arms and shoulders and knees. They grew up in a car. They spent the majority of their days and nights growing up within a constrained area up until Sam went to Stanford, and then like magnets they slotted back together again.
They are always moving within the parameters of a 67 Chevy Impala, even in heaven.

Backstory: Jacob grew up somewhere out east, while moving west during the expansion he got separated from his family and had to pick up odd jobs to survive. After a while he managed to save up enough money for a little spot of land on a pond, built himself a cabin and a porch and has lived there ever since.
