#violet moonstrider

Note
Kay I give you uhhhhh Violet Moonstrider, she's a sylvari who's really tall and chipper and giddy about everything. She awakened and immediately died, then mallyx brought her back - but she doesn't let that dampen her mood :) she's pink with blue eyes that stare into your soul like a bug and has a white petals pixie cut and plant freckles that glow in the dark. She also miiiiight be slightly Glint-branded!
I have a new character that I instantly love, thank you so much :D :D
Tumblr media
For Violet, I give you Ia! She's a sylvari sprout, meaning that she's still little (physically looks--and also acts--somewhere between 9 and 11 post-EoD), but she would think Violet was incredibly cool. Ia's an elementalist (weaver specifically) who loves to pull pranks and is a menace (/affectionate), and she's afraid of not being strong enough to protect herself, even though she already is. I think she could learn a lot from Violet (both good things and less good things) and that she'd enjoy spending time with her as long as Violet didn't mind!

Ruthari #7 for the prompt? 👀
Ship + kiss writing challenge
7: A kiss to shut up
When the two elves were heading back to their sleepy village, the horizon was glowing with pinks and violets of the incoming sunrise. They’d been out all night, watching Moonstriders on a secluded clearing by the waterfall and strolling through the Moonshadow Forest trembling with the magic of the Spring Equinox.
Ever since they’d left the clearing, Ethari was silent, so silent that Runaan, the least talkative elf in Silvergrove, was starting to panic and making up the worst scenarios. He’d asked the young metalsmith for a hangout a few days ago when Lain had literally pushed him inside the forge and demanded that he finally asked Ethari out and quit his endless pining. Runaan would never dare to call it a date, let alone say it out loud. And certainly, he would never expect that Ethari would agree to hang out with him.
In his head, Runaan thought that Ethari hated their hangout and would rather keep quiet about it than make Runaan sad. He should’ve planned this hangout better. Shadows, he didn’t even know if Ethari liked Moonstriders in the first place! Runaan should’ve known that not everyone was obsessed with Moonstriders as much as he was because regular elves were not necessarily interested in details of their behavior, when and where they migrated during the year, or how their age could be estimated by the slight differences in the color of their feathers–
“Runaan?” Ethari’s gentle voice struck him out of his thoughts. He rapidly turned his head towards the metalsmith, afraid that on top of everything, he'd upset Ethari by ignoring him. Instead, he saw Ethari smiling at him in a way that made his heart skip a beat every time.
"I was asking if you think they're going to be there next week too?" Ethari asked, continuing to walk leisurely next to Runaan.
"Y-yes, they should be there until mid-May," Runaan mumbled in response.
"I see," Ethari nodded before the silence fell between them again. Runaan couldn't bear it. He stopped and so did the other elf.
"Ethari, I… Please don't have to pretend you're enjoying this," Runaan stuttered. "I know you agreed to come only because you're too kind to refuse,"
"Runaan, I'm not pretending!" Ethari instantly protested but Runaan was too caught up in spilling his thoughts.
"I know that I can be annoying, t-that I don't usually talk, and when I do I mostly talk about Moonstriders or combat. And I know I don't always get the jokes you and Lain tell me,"
"Runaan…"
"A-and even though I know you're the kindest elf in Silvergrove, I didn't expect you to agree to come to hang out with me like that, a-and you asked me if I know someplace special and this was the only— mmh!" Runaan was not allowed to finish his sentence when Ethari cradled his face in his hands and pressed their lips together.
Just like that, the whole world around them went still. Runaan froze, too stunned to react when Ethari's soft lips kept moving against his own, and it felt nowhere near the way Runaan had pictured it in countless of his dreams. It felt even better, warmer, and sweeter than Moonberry Surprise and Runaan wished their kiss would never end.
In the end, Ethari pulled away from him but didn't let go of Runaan's face. He was looking at him with those deep brown orbs and Runaan had to remind himself how to breathe again when Ethari chuckled and shook his head with eyes closed.
"Now that you finally shut up, listen to me," Ethari laughed, slowly stroking Runaan's cheekbones with his thumbs. "I loved our hangout, every second of it. I love when you tell me about Moonstriders, how your eyes light up whenever you do," Ethari spoke and Runaan could swear that if it wasn't for the rising sun blinding him from behind the trees, he would think that he'd eaten poisonous berries and was now hallucinating.
"You're not annoying in the slightest. Even when you're not talking, you're a wonderful listener and it made me so happy when you invited me to come with you tonight. It was amazing and I was hoping we could do that again."
"E-eee…" Runaan tried to say something but it seemed like Ethari had temporarily taken away his ability to form coherent sentences. Ethari was practically grinning with delight now, his smile brighter than the sun before his eyes.
"I take it as a 'yes' " Ethari whispered before he pulled Runaan's face closer once again, sealing their arrangement with a kiss.

16. Shy smiles
Hi! And thank you for the prompt. I am in a fluff mood and I wanna write something for my mesmer nb wonder Airondile (in the left) and the Sweetest Ravenant Ever, Violet. They are a bit odd, but adorable and the fluffiest thing since cotton candy (also they are pink, aw yeah)
Edit: oh look, a short fic! :D
Violet is not mine but she has her own tag here!
Tumblr media
It was a long time ago, the last time Airon could feel like this. The last time they could feel the sea and all its currents, the dampened current of dragon magic was everywhere, clustered in a claustrophobic crisis of existing without the force that created it. Siren’s Landing felt like ages ago. Another life, another continent, another world.
The endless shimmer of love Tahiel and Galahad shared while dancing in the beach was not there. The calm energy of Commander Steinbrecher was an oxymoron in Orr. The joy emanating from Commander Sirhasi and her human companions, the Family of Four-and-One, was forced while in the ruins. Even the unending light of Gialinn and Giralein was like a firefly, instead of the beacon in the horizon near the bungalow in the end of the bay.
There was, however, something that had not changed. Or better said, someone. Airon knew that if their lightless eyes, black as the endless depths, could be burned once more by the curse of dragon magic, it would not matter. No matter what happened, there would always be a light in the darkness, warm and soft and corageous as the sun at dawn. Violet, the Moon Strider. Dearheart, loved and beloved, she whom loved them deeply.
A shy smile graced their features as Airon moved closer to her, feeling the sweetness of her laughter as a balm for bad memories. Her scent could soothe even the most frayed of nerves, and as every time before that, Airon promised to keep its memory forever ingrained in their mind.
“A silver for your thoughts~“ said Violet, her smile making Airon feel butterflies in their whole being “Did you see something special, Airon?“
“Yes. I have. And I have always been seeing something special“
Violet gasped softly, her eyer opening in surprise “Oh, what is it? Did you see the pattern of magic around the sun? The way the funny magic of others works? Or did you see Mallyx being a meanie with us again?“
“No, is something more beautiful, more interesting and really far more kind than any of that, Vee“ The way in which she went lost in thought was adorable, and they could not help but hug her, taking the chance to whisper in her ear.
“It was you, Vee. It has always been you, even in the worst times, you have always been the star in my eyes, the reason why I have never been truly lost~“
Violet blushed, she got flustered, and finally, she laughed, and her gorgeous laughter was anything but shy.

We have asked Ethari, so I think it’s fare to ask you to tell us an angsty story?
Sure.
One spring, many years ago, my life had unexpectedly become filled with many different changes that I hadn’t expected. The first came when my assassin squad suddenly changed because of Reasons, leaving me with a new group of novices, much less advanced than my previous group had been. I had to completely refurbish my training plans and start anew in a number of ways. Recalibrating my expectations doesn’t happen easily, and it was quite a shock, especially since all 4 elves were now depending on me to be the perfect, shiny leader I’m supposed to be.
The second change occurred when I was finishing exercising Lachir for the day. The hour of work was nearly up when she began panting and shaking out her fur, as her winter coat hadn’t fully shed yet, trapping her body heat. I quickly dismounted and hand walked her back to her stall, tying her to a post where she could have a refreshing drink while I inspected her for injuries. There were no scars to be found, only unmistakable excess moonstrider fat that’d accumulated over the winter and in the days where I’d been to busy adjusting to my new group to give her proper exercise. I apologized plenty to her; she doesn’t like being unable to be un-athletic any less than I do myself. With many pets and a firm promise to make things right, I isolated myself outside the fence of her and Tethu’s field until supper time, mapping out a new diet plan for her, as well as a steady yet effective exercise regime that would help her regain her usual shape. With sore legs, I blearily made my way back into the treehouse, heading straight for my office to begin revising my plans for my squad. Dinner would have to wait.
The third change came a week later, when Rayla tearily approached me with the news that she hadn’t made her school’s Elf Ball team because they didn’t allow assassins in training on their team due to an ‘unfair advantage.’ I considered this, recognizing that yes, assassins are undeniably more adept at sports than their peers, but that they still deserve a chance at participating in team sports, especially for social benefits, or so they say. She went on about how it’d felt like somewhere she could feel like she belonged, and that maybe she could stand out in a good way. I listened to every word, not caring about the dull ache in my head that’d built because of the tension from everything else going on in my life. When she was finished, she looked up at me with those big, violet eyes, all open and pleading—how could I say no? Communication with school staff is usually Ethari’s thing, but this was an assassin matter. I had to make things right, and Rayla had my word for it.
Things went well, and soon Rayla became a part of the Elf Ball team, but not without me fumbling through my words to this poor principal, who quickly agreed to my inquiry. I think this interaction took years off of my life, trying to approach school staff to defend an assassin’s right to play on a sports team.
And my poor Ethari. I hardly ever stayed in bed long enough in the mornings to give him his morning cuddles, and our morning goodbye kiss hardly sufficed. He’d never make me feel worse fo the pressure that was mounting on me, but I could tell it affected him as well. He missed me, and I missed him as well.
Well we can’t have that, can we? Not with my amazing husband. Things had to change.
One evening, after a day that’d started with an assassin forgetting basic terminology, followed by Lachir breaking into her feed room and grabbing some extra treats, I felt as if I could nearly fall apart. I stalked around the treehouse like a grumpy ghost, trudging through hallways before quickly shutting the door behind me as I pretended to pour over documents, when in reality, I would just sit and stare at nothing; only feeling tension and deep angst. When I’d hear footsteps outside, I’d jump to attention, making myself look busy so that nobody had an excuse to try and get me away from solitude. Thankfully nobody tried to intervene in these moments, but I was on edge nonetheless.
Although a part of me begged me not to, after a few hours I’d emerged, believing that a change of scenery could help me realign my thoughts. Wordlessly, I sat in the kitchen, wondering how I could even begin to deal with the disruptions to changes I’d never expected nor planned for. I held my head in my hands, looking completely resigned. And that’s when Ethari knew it was time to step in.
“My heart, you’re unwell,” he whispered, slowly approaching me as if I were a scared creature. All illusions aside, I definitely felt like one. “Please let me help.”
A lump appeared in my throat. “I don’t know how,” I managed.
“I know what should come first,” he began, opening his arms soon after. I hesitantly moved closer, not feeling like I deserved such a kind gesture. But then. But then. I felt the familiar, comforting hold of his strong, knowing arms, and I completely melted. I was a wreck. I cried for nearly five minutes in his arms, utterly exhausted and done with everything. He didn’t even ask for an apology or an explanation, he just let me, and this fact brought me more tears when I’d thought I was finished weeping.
“Ethari, I,” I hiccuped, unable to find my words, “I can’t do it, maybe I should step down, or give Lachir to a more competent elf, I don’t know—“
“Nonsense. You’re the most competent elf I know, and we both know she wouldn’t accept anyone else at this point,” Ethari chuckled, wiping one of my many tears. “And any assassin would be so lucky to have you. Just ask Rayla.”
I couldn’t deny the ways in which she favoured me over even her school teachers. I smiled. “True.”
Ethari pressed his forehead to mine. “You can get through it, but you don’t have to do it alone. I know I’m not an assassin leader or a moonstrider expert, but I can try to help you balance them and alleviate the weight,” he said carefully. Here’s a secret, Ethari knows very well how much my career and pet both mean to me. I have a tendency to pour so much of myself into them that I don’t consider anybody else helping, because I automatically label it as interfering. He saw this, and surprised me. But then it didn’t turn out to be much of a surprise after all. He is very insightful, you know.
“You’re occupied with your own things,” I said pitifully.
He persisted. “Not nearly as busy as you are. I can manage a light addition, it’s much easier than having you collapsing under this weight.”
I stayed silent for a long moment, and he let me.
“Okay,” I whispered.
Ethari pulled me into another hug, and I could feel him smiling against my shoulder. I softened, letting us hold each other for a long while.
His hands came up to my shoulder blades, and I felt him frown. “You’re still tense,” he said.
“I fear it might take a while for me to start feeling completely relaxed again,” I replied, laughing sadly.
His frown persisted, and I could see the deep concern behind it. He sat, devising a plan.
“Do you have an hour tonight?”
I immediately deflected. “I can’t, I still have things to look over,” I answered, beginning to turn away.
“How much of your documents have you actually processed tonight?” He asked upfront.
I gaped. “Ah, not much, but that’s why—“
“No. You need an hour to yourself tonight. It’ll help you in the long and short run,” he persisted, fixing me with a serious look.
“Alright,” I surrendered, knowing it was for my own good. “What do you have in mind?”
He smiled, cheery and innocent, before kissing my forehead. Intertwining my hand with his, he led me to our reading room.
“I want to help you relax,” he murmured, drawing closer to me as he held me from behind. “Can I give you a massage?”
I closed my eyes, leaning back into him. “Okay, my light. Are you sure Rayla’s occupied? I don’t want her to see me like that.”
Ethari dropped his head to my shoulder, laughing into my shirt before dropping a small kiss there. “Yes, she has a few tests to prepare for. She won’t be coming down here for a while.”
“Hmm, good,” I replied, curling my hand around his. “Shall I take my top off?”
“That would help,” Ethari answered, pressing one more kiss to my shoulder before letting me disrobe. I did as such before laying on my stomach, sinking into the soft cushions. As he stood over me, observing me for a moment, he turned to grab a pillow before softly asking me to move my head, slotting the cushion underneath my cheek. I nearly melted again.
Retrieving a chair, he sat by my side before gently running a hand along my bare back; so careful yet so caring. I let out a sigh at his touch, and I could practically feel his smile as I did so. He scoped out the areas where I was the most tense as well as soothing me all the while, gently bringing me down from weeks of pent up tension. Minutes passed before he straightened himself and got to work. I could feel the energy in the room change—he was on a mission. He pressed a single hand into the top of my shoulder, and I gasped with surprise at how amazing it felt.
“Did that feel good?” He asked, wanting to know he was doing well.
“Ah— it did, how did you do that with a single hand?”
“A crafter’s magic, my shade,” he replied, smirking. He brought his other hand to massage my other shoulder with small circular motions, and I nearly fell into my full moon form with how spectacular it felt.
“That please,” I asked, my voice muffled by the pillow. He hummed in acknowledgement before continuing his ministrations; slowing his pace a minute later, drawing another even, satisfied sigh from me.
“Relax…don’t worry about other things right now, just focus on the present,” Ethari murmured, meaning every word. After minutes of close attention, my shoulders loosened, and so he moved downwards. The small of my back tensed upsettingly as he kneaded across it, causing him to pay even more attention to it, gently tending to its jumbled state. Ethari has a special way of making everybody feel special and heard, no matter if they’re an elf, human, adoraburr, Shadowpaw, or bundle of tense muscles. As he worked on my back, it felt as though each inch was appreciated and cared for, even if he didn’t dedicate a handful of his time to it. My body sang under his touch, and I soon began feeling completely relaxed.
Staying true to his word, Ethari finished the relaxing massage in just under an hour. As a final touch, he gently ran his hands along my back, feeling the effects of his work. I was impressively limber, and my breathing had relaxed into a deep, steady rhythm. He brought his hands to my hair, delicately combing through the strands that’d been placed to the side so he could work across my bare back. He traced the curve of my horns before leaning down and pressing three gentle kisses along the top of my spine.
“There you go, all relaxed,” he affirmed, gently caressing my shoulder. “Do you feel better?”
Little shadow, I couldn’t have felt better even if somebody had magically gotten rid of the same issues I’d been stressing over and then some. My entire world felt extravagantly better, and my head was more clear than it’d been in weeks.
I turned over, wanting to look him in the eyes as I spoke. Our eyes met, and my hand found his cheek before I could think about it. “I feel much, much better, I can’t even put it into words,” I replied. “Ethari…thank you. So much.”
He leaned into the touch, smiling warmly. Turning his cheek, he pressed one, two kisses into my palm. “You’re welcome, my heart. Everybody deserves to feel relaxed and loved, especially you. I’m glad I could help.”
I couldn’t help it, I had to smooch him. We shared a soft kiss before he squeezed my hand, which was still in his. “Don’t be too long. You’ve been through a lot today. I’ll be waiting in bed, okay?”
I nodded. “Okay. I promise.”
And with that, I returned back to my workspace, leaving the door open. I’m not lying when I say I solved more problems that evening than I had in weeks. I came up with plans for how to prevent Lachir from getting into the feed room as well as how to help my assassins memorize their fundamentals while also tackling advanced movements and techniques.
I could go on and on about how grateful I am for Ethari and it still wouldn’t suffice. But let it be known, if it’s the only memory I leave behind as I draw my last breath, that I love Ethari more than anything or anybody in the world itself.
