I woke up thinking about vestige Katsuki casually having a chat with vestige All Might. WHAT THE DUCK was happening there if not something seriously fruity and why did we not circle back to it once we’d got over the fact that his heart had exploded?!

What must non-bkdks think is going on? I’m not even sure if we’ve fully discussed what is going on? Whyyy would he have a vestige if he doesn’t have OFA?

It’s not ghosts because a) ghosts haven’t been introduced as a concept in-universe and b) AM is there and he ain’t dead.

SO WHAT IS HAPPENING? Did we just totally overlook the fact that Hori made it canon that Katsuki either has OFA or just has access to the vestige realm for reasons unknown?

Also why is he fully clothed and able to speak, when poor Izuku spent every vestige scene nude and mute? And why is the background white not black? Vestige purgatory? A vestige waiting room?

I feel like when you suddenly realise you haven’t studied and the class has all moved on to new topics and you’ve somehow missed a key, fundamental part of how The Whole Thing works.

If anyone has meta on this please point me towards it because at this point I’m—

Look at me, I’m alive! … Ehm ehm. Sooooo. I had these lying in my ipad since last year’s august, done right after the chapter where Katsuki’s doki doki for Izuku gets too strong, spent like three days trying to obtain the exact results I wanted (more or less in their sketch-y glory). Thought it would be nice to finally make them see the light, since I don’t think I’ll ever properly clean these pages.

There’s even a whole story behind this, and it goes:

Izuku finally gets to where Shigaraki is and while flying down, Shigaraki rises his arms (and all his hands) to welcome him: “Midoriya Izuku! You’re finally here! I’ve prepared a special gift just for you!” and moves to show what’s behind him.

Aizawa shouts, tries to stop Izuku from watching, but it’s too late. Izuku sees Katsuki’s bloody, lifeless form surrounded by all the other heroes that went to help. He rushes to his friend, his voice trembling so much he can’t even properly say “Kacchan”. Tears blind him as he holds Katsuki in his arms.

Everything is quiet until Izuku’s anguished scream pierce the silence, One For All out of control. Darkness envelopes the two young heroes, shielding them from the world.

In the deep of his soul, Izuku awakes, still holding Kacchan, repeating his name with chocked sobs, until an hand caress his cheek.

“Such a crybaby”

“… Kacchan!”

From there more tears, more hugs, more “fuck shigaraki”s and explanation about how Katsuki went boom boom, and how Shigaraki seems to be invincible. From there, it’s the first page.

Why are they crying? who knows. But they are going to share OFA despite whatever consequence may come and kick shigaraki’s ass. At one point there should have been even kid shigaraki in the soul space, helping Izuku getting out of his berserk state, kind of guiding him but meh.
