How does Vesta Retrograde in Cancer Affect Creativity, Inspiration, and Motivation?

Ancient Roman Vesta was goddess of home and hearth, and basically symbolises all homely, comforting, and nostalgic things. Thus, this is the energy this asteroid brings. This is the same Vesta who also governed the Vestal Virgins who tended the sacred fires of Rome.

Cancer is a moody and emotional sign but can also be a homebody. Thus, there is a double whammy of this energy when Vesta is retrograde in Cancer.

What does this mean for creativity?

We may feel more or less inclined to be creative when this homely energy is present. It ultimately depends on the source of your inspiration, so if your work is inspired by faraway places or the grest outdoors, you may be out of luck.

However, for stuff like worldbuilding, character design, writing and painting, you are probably IN LUCK no matter your sign.

Here are some insights plus ways to boost your creativity during the retrograde:

Vesta brings nostalgia, so now is a GREAT time to look over old work. See how you may have improved or changed since older pieces or works you have created. Remind yourself how far you've come and remember that artistic development is ongoing.

Likewise as the energy is flowing in this direction, it's a GREAT time to take fresh inspiration from old work. This means stuff like reworking an artwork, piece of music, character design, or piece of writing you weren't happy with. It also means taking strength from the stuff you were happy with, figuring out why, and maybe repeating it with a few twists.

Now is also a fantastic time for creative self care. This means channelling the honely energy of this astrological placement and spending a day indoors catching up on stuff you want to read, watch, or listen to.

What Tarot Cards Does This Placement Go Well With?

The homely energy goes brilliant with the emotional nature of the cups suite, so if you're a tarot reader and you see yourself finding more cups cards than usual, this may be a reminder from the cosmos that now is your chance to get in touch with your emotions.

In terms of the major arcana, this time is similar to Temperance and to The Lovers. These are both relatively positive cards that can mean a number of things but ultimately which invite reflection - something perfect for the sign of Cancer as it encourages nostalgia. Astrology Observations 3!!!!

Hi I'm back again but these ones are kinda like straight up opinions. Take what resonates! I'm not a professional, if anything I'm a goofy fella who constantly asks to see peoples charts.

Virgo Midheaven creates a very detailed oriented person with an immaculate image. Everything they put out is out together well, their plans to be successful are insanely planned out, and I've never seen one look messy.

Mercury in your Suns element explain the things best to you.

Asteroid Actor (12238) conjunct Ascendant could mean people don't believe you when you're being honest/your sincerity comes off as fake.

Heavy Aquarius placements may love watching long commentary videos. Especially drama breakdown videos with Leo in the mix. I am a victim of this ✊😔

A lot of squares in a natal chart can make an extremely chill person. Whatever inner tension they have makes them oddly calm and forgiving of other people. Especially Sun squaring Mars and or Jupiter, it kinda feels like a cancellation happens where there should be anger. They also may get picked on a lot.

Moon in 10th and 11th house are popular placements for success. Whatever attention you get, your moon sign will tell you what people love about you. Jupiter also tells the same thing, but a less tame affect. Examples can be Moon in Pisces means that your very intuitive when it comes to your audience, and they vibe with you because of that. Jupiter in Pisces could have people going crazy for your intuitiveness and you could be able to gauge how you get attention the easiest.

The most accurate description of a rising sign I've seen is Virgo Rising having Resting Bitch Face. They also age SO well. The stars really balanced it out for them.

Mars in Libra can make a very passive person in relationships, and the house can talk about the problems. They may not want to speak up/will try to appease their partners. Like if the partner wants a cat and the Libra is deathly allergic, they'd rather get the cat than tell their partner there's an issue.

If you're feeling a little lost and need direction, looking at your Vesta could be a good place to start. Vesta represents your undying flame and your spark, so it can help jump-start your passions. Vesta in 5th can point to taking up more creative hobbies such as writing, acting, drawing, or maybe taking care of kids, 6th means starting with a healthy routine, helping others, or volunteering with animals, 1st is taking care of yourself and your appearance, and making even spicing things up a little. All of this is of course depending on the sign.

Cancer Midheavens are the best at being able to gauge audiences/coworkers reactions to things. Although it may seem strange, they're nice in positions of management. Strict enough to make you listen but nice enough to understand if you can't make deadlines/can sense if you're burnt out.

I feel like I can make a billion posts on Saturn since it's one of my favorite planets, but here's a favorite: I'm not sure who said it (it could've been multiple, if anyone knows who I'm talking about leave their @ in the replies) but your chart ruler in a house can show where you may excel, but also have problems based on what body part it rules. A good example for me is Saturn in 5th Gemini, and I have wrist joint/bone issues caused by excessive drawing and writing. I also get a lot of compliments for my jaw so win/win scenario. Another not me example is your rising being Sagittarius, with Jupiter in 6th house. You could be a joyous person when it comes to taking care of people/yourself, with a stable routine that's a bit too rigorous and you could end up hurting your thighs in some way like pulling your hamstring, or just having really thick thighs and contributing it to your routine. S/o to you for that

Uranus in retrograde can point to bad technology skills. Probably the type of person to go "I hate technology" one minute then continue to giggle at memes on Twitter the next. Especially in Aquarius.

Gemini Midheavens/Mars need to do multiple things at once. So like if you're a writer, you might be your publisher as well or your editor, or even make your own book cover. If you do YouTube you'll be your own editor and script writer. If you're an actor you may act and director, the list can go forever. But doing at least 2 things seems to stop the jumping from project to project some Geminis may feel creatively.

I like describing North Node and Vertex as The path you're drawn to (NN) vs What path you're gonna get dragged down (V). Like you can ignore your north node if you want but vertex will force you to deal with it. Like if you have North Node in 4nd but Vertex in 8th. You could ignore any homebody nature, ignore your roots and any family life, but you will be forced to go through transformations, deaths and rebirths whether you like it or not, or even notice it.

Pisces suns kinda flock together, I've never seen one by themselves.

Oppositions to Mars can tell you what makes you quick to anger even if you're not a hot headed person. Mars Opposite Venus could be that you get upset when people criticize your style, love life or appearance. Mars Opposite Sun could mean you don't like when people criticize you period, and it may be very ego based.

Chiron in 1st house may be sore losers, and they don't like looking stupid, especially with positive planets in 9th house. They may need to learn how to deal with showing a bit of that Chiron side in a healthy way, since the 1st house is the thing people see first.

Your descendant could be the moon sign/element you get the most, especially in love.

Squares/Opposites to Neptune can show what illusions you need to break in order to get closer to your intuitive nature. Neptune Square Pluto could mean you need to go through a full transformation and rebirth. Neptune opposite Mars means you may need to deal with bouts of anger, realigning your passions and directing your energy in the proper direction.

Mars in Scorpio are the calmest mars sign of them all. Nothing really ever phases them to be honest, regardless of the house.

RISING

An obvious one, but your rising sign is the basis of your physical appearance (specifically your face) aspects to your rising can give more insight into your appearance

Ex. I’m a Virgo rising with the moon and mars squared. So sometimes I can give more of a lunar appearance and sometimes a Martian appearance. I have softer aspects that are more tight then my squares that appear more. (Venus and Pluto trine my ASC)

CHART RULER

The chart ruler can also give you insight into your looks as well. It’ll be more like your aura but the houses rule body parts just like the sign

Ex. My chart ruler is the 8H so when matched with my Virgo rising I can’t tend to give off an intimating stoic vibe with my looks and to some I might appear naturally sexy or alluring

ACS PC RISING SIGN

Can be more accurate than your natal chart rising sign, can show the inner lying beauty you have

Ex. My ACS in this chart is Pisces conj. Vesta which can give me a youthful look and some mystical sex appeal (think like a mermaid)

VENUS

Another obvious one. Venus deals with beauty and attraction so the sign it’s in and aspects to it can show what type of beauty you have and what people find attractive about you

Ex. My Venus is in Taurus conj. NN/Pallas, sextile Saturn/Uranus, trine Jupiter/ASC, and sqaure Neptune 😅 that’s a lot but the most prominent is the Pallas conjunction and sextile Saturn. So beauty that gets better with time/age and a beauty and brains type of attractiveness

Quite literally means beautiful so where this is in your chart can expose what is most beautiful about you

SIRENE

How your beauty lures and intrigues others. Can indicate how siren like you are.

Ex. My Sirene squares my mars. So I might lure in people because of my basic sexual nature/vibe and people might find my face/gaze to be very sexual, fierce and Martian like (Aries)

Can indicate what glows or shine about you not just internally but physically

🍹 Aries Moon women usually have eyes that exude sexuality and sex appeal, which makes them very sexually desirable. They usually have this unique, one-in-a-million look that hardly resembles anyone, when you look at them it’s just so…THEM. They often have very baby like face too or at least very youthful looking. Like Aries Moon women: Angelina Jolie, Selena Gomez, Cardi B, Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, Diane Von Furstenberg etc.

🍹 But I wouldn’t really say that Aries Moon women, much like Scorpio Moon women, really excude sexual appeal and sexual energy outwardly even if for example they pose in photos in such manner. Usually their sexual appeal is the most exuding when they are being passionate about something or IN ACTION, during physical movement. Like Angelina Jolie’s fighting scenes as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. When they are still and just posing on photos, this is not as present, it’s like their sex appeal is hidden then (Scorpio Moon especially, like Kylie Jenner). So when you see and interact with them you might even think they are very innocent, since you won’t really FEEL their sexual appeal being present. Usually these women are also quite shy in private, since they were not raised in a family environment where sexuality would be particularly portrayed or even discussed. So they step confidently into sexual power much later in life. Though, this does not mean they weren’t curious in their mind about it during younger years.

🍹 If you need to make a decision or you feel like you can’t really think straight, yet you want to and you’re a Capricorn Mercury: go into a small or narrow place, room, you think better in confined places. Like I know it’s sound ridiculous, but maybe step into a closet or somewhere where there is not big space. Cancer Mercury? Go in the bathroom, sit there and really think deeply about it. Taurus Mercury? Basically you can’t think straight, if you have an empty stomach. Or go in a coffeeshop with beautiful surroundings and order tea and a croissant and your thinking process will start flowing.

🍹 I mentioned previously about Aries Moon women could be prone going back to their ex partner (when they still have feelings). But I think I have to touch on more WHY this happens. It is because they can leave too early at times. They can be really reactive without getting the full story and just leave, because they dislike any sign of unfairness towards them, they are really protective of themselves. So they might go too quickly without knowing everything. So later they come back when provided with more context, information.

🍹 Virgo Lilith might have troubles losing weight if they decide to. It’s like as soon as they decide and announce they are eating differently, there goes someone offering them something that would sabotage that. It’s like when you decide to eat differently to a majority, people start sabotaging you or attacking you, so that you have to also justify your way of eating. It’s quite frustrating, especially because you are already really health-conscious and spend a lot of time trying to improve your health.

🍹 Chiron in retrograde: you will constantly experience resurfacing things throughout your life. Libra Chiron? Your past lovers, relationship will often come back into your life and it will be on you to decide whether you (and them) have healed enough to revisit that relationship. Aquarius Chiron: your old elementary, high school friends will come back again and again.

🍹Vesta is so powerful! You might have an eternal flame for the Sun sign person in the same sign of your Vesta. For example Pisces Vesta in the 4th house: Pisces and Cancer Sun people will be those you might be devoted to even years after the connection ends.

🍹 Pluto in the 3rd house synastry for a romantic relationship: Pluto person will be very blunt and (too) honest with their opinions and thoughts with 3rd house person. 3rd person might cook a delicious meal for Pluto person. But Pluto person might make a back-handed comment:”It’s tasty, but “too healthy”, I couldn’t possibly eat this every day”. Or when they listen to a song that 3rd house person like, Pluto person might comment “turns this off, it’s hurting my ears”. They can be really condescending or mean, but in a subtle way.

🍹 You will often feel like the listener when you are in a Moon in the 10th house synastry. The Moon person will be the one expressing all their emotions and venting and the 10th house person will often need to just listen to them and push their own feelings aside. Because they own feelings might not seem as volatile and intense as those of the Moon person. The Moon person can also be the one to feel like they have it worse than you on emotional level at least. 🤷🏼‍♀️

🍹Taurus Moons have such balanced emotion, that those around them try to provoke them and get a reaction out of them. But they are too lazy to even react. 😂

🍹Some Gemini Moon men can be really old-fashioned and traditional. They would give their wife a paycheck every month for her to pay the bills, buy food and things for household, but would demand acts of service in exchange, like a cooked meal after they come home. When I tried to get deeper perspective on it, they backed their mentality by stating that needs come before wishes. And they give money every month so that she buys necessary things and doesn’t feel the lack of not getting, for example new jewellery. 🤷🏼‍♀️

🍹Composite Mars in the 7th house: especially if this goes for a romantic partnership, you guys will learn how to actually compromise in order to build a sustainable long-term connection. You two are probably really busy, individualistic people who are quite fulfilled on your own. There might be a lot of mirroring, like if you start calling them by a nickname, they will too. If you first give them a hug, they will return this to you and starting giving hugs as well.

🍹If you have Lilith in someone’s 2nd house, they will absolutely dislike you paying for their meals, giving them money.

And Cancer Suns with Gemini Venus would more often dislike fast food, street food altogether. They don’t even see fast food as “real” food. 😂 For them it only makes sense to eat “regular meals” at regular restaurant.

March 7th, Full Moon in Virgo

The full moon taking place on March 7th, 7:42 a.m. Eastern standard Time is going to be taking place in the mutable earth sign of Virgo.

This Moon carries with it the energy of a bated breath. With the sun and moon in a T-square configuration with Mars in Gemini, This speaks to an incredibly nervous, anxious and excitatory energy. This denotes an explosive, or cataclysmic quality particularly in regards to information. Lies, secrets and information That is otherwise obfuscated will be exposed. This can be the start of conflict, intention on a personal and collective level. This tension is elevated by the stellium in the zodiac sign of Aries including Vesta, Jupiter, Chiron, Venus and Juno. The conflict is being brought towards the surface to reach a fiery climax and conclusion. Emotions will be high during this moon, and people will be prone to outbursts of anger. Beware of physical danger this moon, such as cuts, burns, and accidents. This can also manifest as wildfires.

With the sun in Pisces being conjunct mercury in detriment and Neptune dignified, this portends a time of metaphorical and literal flooding. This is a bad planting season,with this configuration and Ceres in retrograde position in Libra so hold off on your spring planting.

With two major hitters at the anaretic degree (29°) and one being 29°59 there is a suspended element of anxiety and collective strife and a final gift from Saturn before he exits the place of power, most likely related to harmful collective legislation, technology, and social media. he's been in power since 2017(Capricorn-aqua) this is an experience we will not have for another 20 years. When we wake up, Saturn will already be in pisces changing the energy dramatically to one of confusion,dreaminess, and melancholy fantasy. The Venus Star Point or “cazimi” (a Latin term that translates to “the heart of the Sun”)

The Venus Portal occurs when Venus retrograde slips behind the degrees of the Sun: Venus needs to link up with the Sun and then retrograde past it. The portal is what we call the energetic shift which occurs at that moment in time. This will be one of the major shake ups of the summer and August 13 will bring this cosmic change to center stage in the sign Leo, which is known for its artistic, loving, and passionate nature.

Two major cosmic phenomenons are happening on August 13. First, the Sun and Venus retrograde connect for their annual union, which is called The Venus Star Point or “cazimi” (a Latin term that translates to “the heart of the Sun”). This is a conjunction between the two planets, meaning they align at the exact same degrees. The last Venus Star Point in Leo occurred four years ago on August 14, 2019. This is the next part of the story that began then. Since Venus runs in an eight-year cycle, it’s important to note that this is the final chapter of the Venus Star Point from August 15, 2015 (the last time Venus was retrograde in Leo).

The second point of astrological interest happening on August 13 is Venus shifting from being an evening star to being a morning star. Venus will now be clockwise from the Sun in the sky — that is, after the planetary conjunction — and technically in lesser degrees than the Leo Sun. As a morning star, Venus is led by its desires and emotions. One will make impulsive decisions when it comes to romance and never think of the consequences. As an evening star, Venus, can make us ruminate and dwell over the past, without moving forward. Relationships are serious business and must be handled with delicacy.

The Venus Star Point is urging us to reflect upon our heartfelt desires and asking us to connect with what we value. Once the Venus Portal occurs, our passions will be heightened. With the wildcard planet Uranus activating the Venus Portal, we’ll act extra quickly and erratically. The centaur Chiron and asteroid Vesta are in close proximity to the portal, we may run towards partnerships and projects that heal us and make us feel whole. Although the Fixed Star Ras Elased Australis (situated on the lion’s head in the Leo constellation) echoes that sentiment and fires up the need for artistic expression, it reminds us to look before we leap. Make bold moves, sweeping changes, and lead with the heart, just try to pay attention to your actions.

Usual caveat: this probably won’t have much of an effect on you personally, unless Vesta is prominent in your chart (closely aspecting the Sun, Moon, &/or an angle).

Whatever we’ve been trying to get off the ground, in Vesta’s areas, is going to have to be a big “do-over.” Look for extreme emotional neediness, hypersensitivity, &/or alienation in any of Vesta’s “areas:”

Personal integration - We still “feel off,” no matter what we’ve been trying to do to counter that.

Devotional/Religious activities - discontent with whatever we’ve been doing, or trying to do.

One’s work or path of service - not wanting to do it; we’d rather stay home.

Scholastic interests - Cancer isn’t addicted to academia for its own sake: subjects have to feel good as well as make intellectual sense. If we’re studying something that doesn’t meet both criteria, we’ll have difficulties.

Perhaps we’ve adhered too closely to familial or traditional methods of addressing these issues. Some of us may have tried to manipulate matters, inatead of tackling them directly; some others have tried the “ignore it and it’ll go away” approach, which also hasn’t worked out for us. The real roots of our struggles lie back in Vesta’s Gemini transit. That’s when and where we need to do the heavy lifting.

The first aspects after the retrograde station are a sextile between Vesta Rx/Cancer and Juno/Virgo (7°28’), on Sunday, November 5; and on Tuesday, November 7 a sesquiquad between Vesta Rx/Cancer (7°25’) to Ceres/Scorpio (22°25’). Partners are supportive, but family members are skeptical.

On Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14, we have a quartet of unpleasantness:

A couple of aspects on Thursday, November 30:

Vesta Rx/Cancer trine Pallas Athene/Scorpio, 4°45’

Vesta Rx/Cancer inconjunct Mars/Sagittarius, 4°40’

We have what we believe is a great insight - and maybe it is! - but there may be too many adjustments we’d have to make, before we can follow through.

Next, on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5:

Vesta Rx/Cancer inconjunct Ceres/Sagittarius, 3°56’

Vesta Rx/Cancer opposite Mercury/Capricorn

Those two on the surface don’t seem like a very big deal, but they are. The Mercury opposition happens twice more, during Mercury’s retrograde cycle, and when Mercury is in Sagittarius and Vesta in Gemini. Ceres, while still in Sagittarius, will also oppose Vesta. The changed perspectives make a huge difference.

It’s impossible not to regard these as a matched pair, although they’re almost a week apart:

Thursday, December 7, Vesta Rx/Cancer trine Venus/Scorpio, 3°15’.

Wednesday, December 13, Vesta Rx/Cancer trine Saturn/Pisces, 1°49’

Hard-earned sweet wisdom - we may feel like we “get it” now. The emphasis on tradition is very strong.

Finally, on Sunday, December 17 - a few days before Vesta re-enters Gemini - we get a delay in the form of Vesta Rx/Cancer (0°49’) sesquiquad Venus/Scorpio (15°49’). No matter what good resolutions we made, when Vesta was trine Venus and Satirn - it still isn’t the right, proper time for resolution. That happens after Vesta’s Gemini ingress; those unresolved issues are the source of the difficulties.
