Retrograde asteroids in the birth chart

Caveat: this probably won’t have much of a personal impact on you unless Eris is prominent in your chart, closely in aspect to the Sun, the Moon, &/or an angle. Even with a couple of those, it still will be difficult.

This is also far more likely to manifest in the wider world - as an extreme example, the US insurrection of January 6, 2021, happened on an Eris direct station day.

Notice also that Eris isn’t moving very much, just over one degree. It was in Aries when my mom was born in 1927, and it will be in Aries if I have any grandchildren.

Besides July 20 this year, and January 11 next year, there is one more date to watch: October 21, when Eris and the North Node will be conjunct at 24°40’ Aries. Troubling enough in itself, but that date is also between eclipses - solar on October 14, lunar on October 28.

Outer Planet Astrology 6 November Week

I’m going to try doing this again - it’s nice to do a bit of writing and follow the aspects of my favourite dwarf planets. 

I don’t follow Pluto because while it’s pretty much the same as Eris in size - it’s covered by a lot more people. However it’s really active in the energies of other Dwarf planets this week. It’s a very Plutonian battle for survival kind of week, so lets get into it. 

Eris 

Eris is very much in its retrograde and this is interesting because it’s also conjunct the North Node - the speed of the two points are roughly the same and they’ve been within a 1 degree conjunction since 29 August and will remain so until 14 December. The way these two points have lined up to keep this going is pretty rare - the closest I can see to this was in 1968. 

Eris can often be about standing your ground and fighting for your space, and conjunct the North Node it will be aiming for that survival. This time round that came to a fore when Mars opposed Eris and Hamas attacked Israel sparking off Israel’s brutal reprisals. Last time round, when Mars trined Eris the USSR invaded Czechoslovakia.

So we have real fight or die energy present and on Saturday the Moon will oppose this. We may be looking at emotional exhaustion and an attempt to balance the high energies we’ve had over the past month.  

Sedna

Sedna is on a slow retrograde. It starts the week just ten minutes into Gemini and by the end, it’s 6 minutes into Gemini.Sedna will re-enter Taurus this month - a sign it’s been in since 1965 and only just left. 

On Wednesday, Sedna will have an exact trine with Venus. There’s also a less exact trine to Pluto, making this a grand trine. This feels to me like an opportunity to interrogate values - why you hold them and whether they serve you. Added to all this, there’s a close square between Saturn and Sedna. Which makes me think we’re not just interrogating our values, we’re jettisoning some of them. The bad end of this could be getting rid of your moral code. The positive is very similar - how many scruples do we hold that aren’t healthy? Can we get rid of them?

On Thursday the Moon will meet Venus. This could make things more emotional, if this whole thing shows up in your chart. This could be a useful time to consider things but on Friday Mercury is opposite Sedna. This could create a situation where people let their ethics get in the way of doing the right thing. Excluding people for being immoral when they might need us. Offering the enemy no quarter when we may actually need to come to a compromise.

Orcus 

Orcus is sextile the Sun for the end of the week, becoming exact next Sunday. The Sun is at 16 degrees of Virgo. This may be a time to get lost in your thoughts and interests, if you’re susceptible to this aspect and feel like indulging. Or if you can’t avoid doing so. 

Gonggong

Gonggong closely opposes Lilith all week. Lilith in Virgo is such an odd symbol - the Virgo is the Virgin, and Lilith is the OG monster fucker. I feel that Lilith in Virgo is Lilith throwing itself into doing the right thing so deeply that it loses itself a bit. Or rejects it entirely. This may be morals, but it could also be self care: having a twenty part skin care regime or saying fuck it and buying some cigarettes. 

Gonggong is a planet of revelations currently swimming in emotional Pisces at 4 degrees. If this interacts with your chart it may emerge as a realisation on what you can and can’t manage. It may be a time when you flip between too much dieting and self-care, and not enough. Or vice versa. 

Haumea

Haumea is trine Saturn within 1 degree - Haumea, an egg shaped world of growth and expansion, is at zero degrees of Capricorn. On Saturday, it trines Saturn in Pisces. This sounds quite nice, a chance to reduce your expectations for growth and live within your means. Something we maybe need at the moment. Haumea is square to Pluto all of this time, which feels honestly awkward because that means it’s semisextile Saturn. Haumea may have a sense of expand or die, while Pluto absolutely can’t see why Saturn is trying to put on the breaks. 

The Outer Planets Weather

The key concept for the week seems to be values - are they good? Even if they are, can we afford them? Eris and the North Node gives us a sense that now is the time to push forward if we want to be able to hold our ground. However, this has been going on for an age and this week offers some chances to step back and reconsider. Or be exhausted and give up. Consider your options carefully

Transiting Eris stations retrograde

I wasn’t going to blog about this at all, except it was pointed out to me that the January 6 insurrection happened on an Eris direct station. So yes, this deserves at least a caution flag. A few thoughts about it:

Eris’ orbit is slow. My mom, born in 1927, had Eris in Aries; if I have grandchildren, they’ll have Eris in Aries, too. (The Aries dates are 1925/6 - 2048.) Eris really has to be a “player” in the birth chart, for an individual to have much sense of it.

When a planet stations retrograde, its energy turns inward. We aren’t projecting any more. It’s always useful to think that however down on yourself you are, during a retrograde - is how you are with and at others, when it’s direct.

I like to remember that before Eris was officially named Eris, she had a “working title” (so to speak) of Xena. Yes, from the TV show. Which is a much healthier, more positive manifestation of this energy!

So if Eris is a player in your chart, recognize this shift and look out for healthier ways to use this inward-Eris. What would Xena do?

Pallas in Sagittarius ♐️ Rx

Pallas in Sagittarius ♐️ went retrograde today through July 9th.

For those that are unfamiliar, Pallas Athene, she is technically a dwarf planet, not an asteroid, so don't under estimate her energy! She is associated with and governs the signs of Libra, Aquarius, and Leo.

She's a warrior queen; the virgin goddess of wisdom; a strategist, and was invincible in battle!

The mythology behind Pallas Athene starts with her birth from the head of Zeus, or otherwise known as Jupiter! Named after Athens in Greece, she is the goddess of wisdom and justice, and is a protector.

She has creative intelligence, she is sexual through the utilization of Venus. Her essence brings together mental qualities from the air elements( Libra & Aquarius) while her creativity attributes hail from the fire sign of Leo. These 3 signs form an aspect pattern that combines the opposition, trine, and sextile. This aspect configuration in the kite family stabilizes the inherent power of Libra- Aquarius trine, while the Leo- Aquarius opposition provides a focal point for the release of creative tension.

Pallas has an amazing story and she is most definitely a goddess that is undeniably fascinating. If you're interested in learning about her mythology more &/or what she represents and values astrologically, please lmk in the comments, I'd be happy to do a full write up on her.

For now here's some basic info on her rulerships and what Pallas going retrograde can mean to the collective.

As I've mentioned she's a goddess of wisdom, so she can indicate intelligence, genius, learning problems, perception of patterns and skills, foresight, artistic abilities ranging from the visual arts to pottery & domestic crafts like weaving or knitting, to musical instruments.(& oh so much more!!!)

She signifies healing powers, both mental and physical, homeopathy, psychological healing to cellular regeneration.

She is a goddess of justice and rules over political activism,a champion of the people, and a warrior for feminism. Having a well placed Pallas and Eris in your chart can certainly point to a champion and defender of the people, but most importantly for women! She brings in so much strength, it's seriously a shame that her (Eris, Ceres, Psyche & Vesta for starters) aren't talked about more and used more in chart readings being that they're dwarf planets, not asteroids...

♐️🪬Pallas Retrograde✨️🧿

As with any retrograde planet this period is about introspection. Pallas symbolizes our capacity for wisdom, strategy, and the warrior spirit within us. She urges us to fight for our beliefs and truths. However, when in retrograde, especially being in the expansive and truth-seeking sign of Sagittarius, the invitation is not external conquests. It's a deep, introspective pilgrimage into the realms of our innermost thoughts and beliefs. This retrograde period becomes a sacred pause, allowing us to sift through the sediment of our convictions, to question what we have accepted as truth, and to confront the philosophies that guide our minds and lives. It is a call for you to start an inbound journey that's just as significant as any outward exploration.

Pallas retrograde in Sagittarius magnifies & intensifies our search for truth and justice. Daring us to dream and think bigger, to question boundaries, ideologies, and outdated beliefs. This may be uncomfortable to start with especially with Mercury Retrograde around the corner(& North Node- Chiron conjuct), but by embracing it and working through it, the end results will be out of this world! I mean who doesn't want to live with a balanced inner warrior soul? Open yourself up to receive this wisdom, insight, power, and energy! It will not be easy, but the best things are never easy.

Adding in the Mercury Rx-Chiron- North Node conjunction & the solar eclipse(all in Aries mind you) this is no coincidence that she is going retrograde at this moment in time!

We are living in a karmic number 8 year; ruled by Saturn; the year of the 🐉 dragon! The dragon just happens to represent the nodes of destiny and karma -

with all these energies lining up before and after the solar eclipse I truly believe the universe has something magical and maybe even a but intense lined up for us.

So embrace all this energy positively and harness it not only for you on a personal level, but for humanity, as well!

first a foremost, woe, Aries season be upon ye! -- shoutout to all the Aries out there. i'm scared of you 🙂.

when Aries season hits, Micky's 1H+2H placements will shine through: asteroids Eris and Sedna, but much more importantly his Venus! right now the transiting Venus is not within conjunction to his natal Venus, but when it does, it'll be absolutely beautiful: financial burdens lifted, love life is invigorated, increase in creative arts and, what i think he needs absolutely most right now, giving the self the love it deserves. until then, this transiting Venus in it's domicile 2H will simply do it's thing as the universe intends it, and his natal Venus in Aries will continue to be it's reckless & impulsive self.

other transiting planets in Aries currently passing through his 2H are Jupiter, Mercury which had just entered Aries within the last couple days, and the Sun will enter in too when Aries season begins on the 21st. the New Moon in Aries will also fall on the 21st, the beginning of the spring season, and will also pass by his 2H (for like a day or two -- the Moon only stays in a sign for ~2.5 days), which would be the prime time for him to clear out any emotional baggage's he's been holding on to that maybe he needs to let go now, whatever that may be, so that he can move forward with a cleaner slate!

second off, uh, i was wrong about Saturn's next retrograde (boooooo 🍅🍅🍅) -- it's actually gonna be coming up this June and won't end until November. it recently entered its shadow period on the 11th of March, which is basically a planet's way of pre-gaming its retrograde season as it slows its course down.

right now the Pisces Saturn still conjoins Micky's Ascendant, so it's not going anywhere else.

no, really, it isn't.

when planets retrograde, they not only do in fact change gravitational course within our solar system, but nataly it goes backwards as well. by the time the retrograde happens Saturn will be 7° in Pisces, still very much within conjunction to his Ascendant and also joining conjunction to his 17° Sun too, but the retrograde will slowly rewind the degrees until November when it returns back to 0°.

so, yeah. melancholic and cranky will be his natural state until sometime around early 2024. Saturn is limiting and asks for the individual to let go what is no longer needed, and when it's serious it is serious. this could be a very good thing, but what he needs to be most careful of is to not end up pushing the wrong people away and isolating himself, as Pisces is infamous for this. if there's one stark difference between Mike and Micky on an Pisces level, it's exactly this: Mike pushed, and Micky pulled. Micky has that pulling power and now is the time to be using it!

The Aries Solar Eclipse and the Cosmic Skies

Let’s take a look at what cosmic influences will be imprinting on the vibration of this Eclipse –

Vesta, the Goddess Asteroid of Hearth and Fire, is active under this Eclipse. Vesta may activate things within the home for us, or may guide us to reflect on how we can feel more at home regardless of our external surroundings.
