your timing is a little scary because i got this ask as soon as i sat down to work on the nancy pov, and just earlier today i opened my erathia notes and wrote a lil tenlark scene for the first time in months. can you read minds rae? you have to tell me if you can 👀

anyway nancy pov is a fickle mistress as always. i love it a lot, but i don't like it as much as i want to--especially now that i'm writing the actual ronance relationship parts, because that means i'm re-reading those same parts from the cfdau, and those are some of my favorite scenes!

i'm very excited to write nancy's side of the affair though, as well as her side of the, well, everything that happens after. and i think i understand a little more about why this fic feels like it's dragging more than the cfdau ever did. which doesn't really tell me how to make it better, but it does make it easier to talk myself out of negative spirals about my work, which is always good

Assuming they're out of subs and it's gotta be someone already on the pitch, I want to say Jan Maas sounds like a solid logical choice, because he's 1) very tall and 2) a defender and presumably has good distribution from the back. HOWEVER I think Isaac (who's also a defender) might have some fun attempting some insane sweeper slides like this

listen i know we all know by now that things like "a full night's rest" and "exercise" and "cleaning your environment" do actually make a demonstrable difference in your mental health, but it's the cleaning in particular that always catches me off guard

#dismies ramblings #the answer is bein very sweepy (n dats ok. love you guys if you see this post) #i just need a sounding board because #ive been reworking how i do my horror bits in this trauma-horror narrative and like. #twell the crux of the plot is that its explicitly a DREAM thing. all stuff is based around dreaming. #and i wanna play on that #...but for one. i dont dream #and for 2: i dont want it to just be dark shadowy figures & silent hill monsters #because thats easy and overdone #but m/c's trauma also specifically revolves around some body contortion and fetuses and babies and stuff. so like. #how do you make that palatable enough that it isnt egregious without making it corny and cliche. and also make it flow like a dream #lately ive been looking at sleep disorders (particularly fatal insomnia) for reference but... #the horror in dreaming itself is stumping me.
