Back to work after the Christmas break, and this is the first thing that caught our eye today!

These big golden tiger eyes were peeking out from a box of fans!

This is an umpires fan from Japan, during the Edo period (1603-1867) it is made from wood, coated in lacquer and painted in brown, red and gold.

It was used during sumo wrestling matches to declare the winner. There is a dragon on the reverse, but he is no longer clearly visible due to wear.

Fans similar to this, but made from metal were used in earlier eras. These were called Gumbai fans and were used for signalling troops during battle.

Color wheel challenge but with most important characters from my RH fanfic lol

I'm lucky that the characters I'm writing about match the colors. Except green. No, Air Batter isn't in fanfiction, even though he plays an important role in the lives of Pitcher and Slugger. I like that the colors to some extent convey some character traits of the characters (English is my passion) very well, which is very cool. I still don't know how to draw Adore in my style. Angel Hernandez was home plate umpire and that went about as you'd expect it to. Called a balk from the dish, strike zone was all over the place and he was really stingy with appealing for check swing calls.
